The Nefarious Reasons Behind the US and UK’s Sudden Concern for Civilians in Yemen

American, British and French military support for the murderous operations in Yemen should have stopped months, even years ago, if official humanitarian concerns were genuine.

At first glance, it may seem like a positive move. The Trump administration and London are both putting pressure on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to implement a ceasefire in Yemen’s atrocious war.

What’s wrong with that, you may ask? Well, as Houthi rebels who took over Yemen at the end of 2014 are saying, the country has been under aggression for the past three years from a Saudi-led coalition supported militarily by the US, Britain and France. The unrelenting war on the poorest country in the Middle East has led to the world’s worst humanitarian crisis in decades, with over half of the population – some 14 million people – at risk of starvation, according to the UN
***
Last week, Washington announced that it was suspending mid-air refueling flights for Saudi and Emirati warplanes that have been pounding Yemen since March 2015, which has resulted in a horrendous death toll among civilians. The indiscriminate killing of the Saudis and Emirati air strikes has been amply documented, albeit downplayed by Western media. The latter keep repeating a figure of 10,000 dead in Yemen – a figure which has bizarrely remained unchanged for at least the past two years. The real death toll from air strikes is unknown but likely to be near 50,000.

‘In-house fake news shop’ – Facebook facing new scandal and losing friends

An explosive New York Times report, published Wednesday, revealed that Facebook employed a PR firm to smear critics and publish hit-pieces on rival tech companies Apple and Google. These pieces were published on NTKNetwork.com, a site run by the firm that masqueraded as a real news site. NBC jumped on board the story, with a former employee of the firm calling NTKNetwork “our in-house fake news shop.”

Facebook claimed in response that the report was fake news. The company stated that it never asked the firm – a Washington DC-based company called Definers – to write articles or spread misinformation. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that he was unaware of Facebook’s relationship with Definers, despite the fact that the company’s statement said that relationship was “well known by the media.”

Publisher of the 'i' newspaper sets out rescue plan

Johnston Press, publisher of the 'i', The Scotsman and the Yorkshire Post, has detailed a rescue plan aimed at ensuring its survival.

The newspaper group put itself up for sale last month, but said none of the offers it received were strong enough.

It now plans to file for administration and says the firm's assets will then immediately be bought by its lenders.

If the deal is approved by the courts, it will preserve jobs and stabilise the business, Johnston Press said.

But shares in the Edinburgh-based company are now worthless and will no longer trade on the London Stock Exchange from Monday.

And some staff will see the value of their pensions affected, the firm has warned.

NBC misses truth by a mile

No mention whatsoever was made of Israeli snipers’ killing of 220+ unarmed Gazan protesters. (3 Israelis have also been killed.)

No mention was made of the 11-year blockade of Gaza which has left the people severely lacking in food, medicine, and other basic necessities.

NBC also managed to help Americans choose sides, and instructed the world to demonize Palestinians:

Facebook hired PR firm to label its critics ‘agents of Soros’

In a bid to counteract negative publicity, social media giant Facebook hired a PR agency to discredit critics by claiming that they were agents of liberal billionaire George Soros, a New York Times report has revealed.

Facebook hasn’t been the most popular company as of late. Repeated privacy and data-leaking scandals followed by half-hearted apologies, and an ongoing effort to clamp down on alternative news pages have kept Facebook and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this year.

The backlash was visible at a House Judiciary Committee hearing in July, when protesters held up signs depicting Zuckerberg and Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg as giant octopuses, with their tentacles encircling the globe. Facebook complained to the Anti-Defamation League, who called the posters “a classic anti-Semitic trope.”

JIM ACOSTA CLAIMED MIGRANTS WOULDN’T CLIMB BORDER, BUT THEY’RE DOING EXACTLY THAT

Members of the migrant caravan are currently trying to climb over the U.S.-Mexico border wall, despite CNN’s Jim Acosta’s claim that they would not “be doing that.”

Last week during a testy exchange with President Donald Trump at a post-midterm press conference, Acosta debated the president on whether or not the migrant caravan is an “invasion.” The White House correspondent rejected the notion that members of the caravan would try to climb walls and fences to get into the United States as depicted in a Trump campaign ad.

“Your campaign had an ad showing migrants climbing over walls and so on, but they’re not going to be doing that,” Acosta claimed.

Judge postpones decision in CNN lawsuit over Jim Acosta's press pass

Lawyers for CNN and the Trump administration are awaiting an initial ruling on the network's federal lawsuit over press access to the White House.

And they're going to have to wait a little while longer.

Judge Timothy J. Kelly heard nearly two hours of oral arguments about CNN's request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction on Wednesday. Then he said court would reconvene Thursday at 3 p.m.

But on Thursday afternoon, he rescheduled the next hearing for Friday at 10 a.m.

If Kelly grants CNN's requests on Friday, CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta would get his press pass back for a short period of time. If it's denied, Acosta's pass will remain suspended.

Another biased pro-Israel ‘NY Times’ report about the latest violence in Gaza

Once again, the New York Times puts a pro-Israel slant on the latest violence in the beleaguered open air prison of Gaza. The paper’s correspondents, who are veterans at distortion, deployed some of the usual time-honored techniques in an article that appeared today:

Dwell on victims in Israel, but brush past dead or injured Palestinians. One person died in Israel, but he got 10 full paragraphs of coverage. We learned about his personal history, his family, and what his apartment in Ashkelon looked like after the Palestinian missile hit it. (The dead man, Mahmoud Abu Asaba, turned out to be a Palestinian himself, originally from the West Bank, who worked inside Israel as a contractor.)

Here was the Times article’s lead paragraph, which describes how Abu Asaba’s wife barely escaped:

6 RECENT US ANTIWAR PROTESTS THE MEDIA DOESN'T WANT YOU TALKING ABOUT

A friend told me yesterday that he hadn’t seen an antiwar protest in America in ten years. It was a sincere comment; he genuinely hadn’t seen any coverage on any peace activism in his country during that time. And of course he hadn’t; it is mainstream media’s job to distort public narratives in favor of the war-hungry plutocratic class which owns the media outlets. But I’ve actually been noticing a lot of antiwar activism lately which, while often far from the spotlight of mass media attention, has given me much hope for the future.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Foreign policy in this country is ultimately outsourced to the people/countries who, and which, can pay the most for it.

Right now, the highest bidders, and owners, for US foreign policy are, respectively, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Israel has shared an absolutely, fact-free, poisoned narration of its relationship with Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and all of the rest of the countries which surround it with President Trump, and he has absolutely taken the bait. Of course that "bait" was "sweetened" by the very generous donations of the casino mogul, Sheldon Adelson, and his wife Miriam.

Sheldon and Miriam Adelson gave $55 milion in September to support Trump and the Republicans

That is why The unhinged, surveilled state of Amerika, is in such a loop of endless wars, followed by new wars, with no real justification for why it must be the US who must fight them in the first place. The "Payoffs" to Adelson and Israel were:

1. The US declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel
2. The withdrawal of the US from the P5+1 agreement, and the imposition of horrific sanctions against Iran, and putting the US on a "war footing" against Iran, which Israel sees as its "existential threat" in the region
3. Massively more money for Israel's military
4. Keeping US troops in Syria "to answer the "scourge" of Iranian troops staying in that country, coordinating with the Russian and Syrian troops, to wipe out the last of the US-funded jihadists (This, potentially, may lead to a hot war in Russia, but hey, who cares?!?)
5. Cutting off any funds for humanitarian aid for Gaza
6. The awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Miriam Adelson
Miriam Adelson Receives the Presidential Medal of Freedom
(Wow; I guess that in current circles, that can be bought also)
7. Letting Prime Minister Netanyahu have an absolutely free hand with the Palestinians, including stealing and annexing their land, which has belonged to Palestinian families for generations, and engineering borders encroaching Palestinian residents' land for use by the the illegal Jewish settlers, which means that it is now impossible for the Palestinians to have a contiguous state.
6. President Trump's NOT reading the riot act when Israel passed the controversial nation-state law Israel passes nation State Law. The bill went on to state: "Israel passed early Thursday a controversial bill that officially defines Israel as the national homeland of the Jewish people and asserts that "the realization of the right to national self-determination in Israel is unique to the Jewish people," sparking outrage from Israel's Arab community and provoking concern from the international community."

Now, let us turn to President Trump's other BFF,Saudi Arabia's Prince Mohammed bin Salman, AKA, the Butcher of Yemen. And what has the "payoff" been here for Saudi Arabia?!?

1. The opportunity to purchase lots of weapons with which to create a genocide in Yemen.

In fact, President Trump and the US's own Mike Pompeo thought this so important that he lied to Congress about what Saudi Arabia was going to do with those weapons. Pompeo lied to Congress about Yemen to protect Arms Sales
2. The US has aided and abetted Saudi war crimes in Yemen, which include:

A - The deliberate killing of infants, women, and the medically fragile elderly. Images; Yemeni children slaughtered or maimed for live, courtesy of Saudi bombing raids

B - The US-enabled blockading of Yemen ports, leading to massive starvation, and a cholera epidemic (possibly weaponized):

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition

Images: Yemeni children sicked by cholera

3. The deafening conspiracy of silence on this war from the American Presstitutes.

4. Possible assistance from the US on starting up a nuclear weapons program Congress members want Trump to report on Saudi Arabia's nuclear ambitions

5. A covert, but growing alliance with Israel against their alleged common enemy, Iran.

6. The US giving the Prince "cover" on Saudi Arabia's brutal execution of Adnan Khashoggi, even though this may well have been planned by the Crown Prince himself.

It is sobering to think, that President Trump's two BFFs in the Middle East, are the most ruthless, tyrannical leaders in that part of the world; Israel's Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza, and Saudi Crown Prince bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen.

Fox News and other outlets join CNN fight over press access to White House

More than a dozen news outlets -- from the Associated Press to USA Today, The Washington Post and Politico -- are filing friend-of-the-court briefs to support CNN and Jim Acosta's lawsuit against President Trump and several top aides.

The list represents most of the biggest news organizations in the United States.

The most notable name on the list is Fox News. In fact, Fox went further than most other media companies on Wednesday, issuing a statement that said "Secret Service passes for working White House journalists should never be weaponized."

Webmaster's Commentary:

When it comes to North Korea, who's really being deceptive?

In the vaguely worded agreement, Trump and Kim pledged to build a "lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula" and to "work toward complete denuclearization" of the peninsula.

Pyongyang is not violating that pledge by continuing to operate missile sites. In fact, most analysts agree Kim would be foolish to dismantle active facilities without a signed agreement.

In his New Year's address, the North Korean leader called on his nation to bolster its nuclear deterrent by mass producing missiles and nuclear warheads.

Kim is just doing exactly what he promised.

Others wrote to a number of celebrities on their social media pages asking them to stop supporting the Israeli army due to its involvement in war crimes, as well as illegal and inhumane acts.

MSNBC's Eddie Glaude: "I Overestimated White People," I Didn't Think They Would Put Trump In Office

Professor Eddie Glaude Jr. said he "overestimated" white people in 2016 and didn't think they would put someone like Donald Trump in office. Glaude expressed fear of a Trump loss and what the president and his supporters will do. He also accused the president of "doubling down" on the rhetoric that caused the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting by introducing the Fourteenth Amendment to the discussion.

"Nothing is going to get better after this midterm," Glaude said Wednesday on MSNBC. "Everything is going to get more intense, and it may even get worse. But let me say this. Not only did he not do all the things you just laid out. He introduced birthright citizenship. He doubled down. He doubled down on what motivated them to go in there and kill 11 people. He doubled down like a moral monster."

Fox News Launches Twitter Boycott Over Handling of Tucker Carlson Video

Fox News went dark on Twitter starting last Thursday, reportedly over the social media platform’s slow response in taking down a tweet showing the home address of the cable network’s host Tucker Carlson.

The Hill reported the incident precipitating the Fox boycott on Twitter was when a left-wing group called Smash Racism DC, which is associated with antifa, converged on Carlson’s home in Washington, D.C., last Wednesday night.

Smash Racism tweeted video of the incident and wrote, “BREAKING. Activists ring doorbell, hold protest at the Washington D.C. area home of @TuckerCarlson, racist, sexist, bigoted FOX News personality. So far no one has opened the door.”

CNN's Jim Acosta's actions to Trump don't represent the best of journalism

We want journalists to ask questions and seek truth. But Jim Acosta’s encounter Wednesday at a White House press conference was less about asking questions and more about making statements. In doing so, the CNN White House reporter gave President Donald Trump room to critique Acosta’s professionalism.

In this time of difficult relations between the press and the White House, reporters who operate above reproach, while still challenging the power of the office, will build credibility.

This is in no way a defense of Trump’s suspension of Acosta’s White House press credentials. Rather, it’s a caution to not hand your critic the stick to beat you with.

'Woman' of the Year: GQ slammed for quote marks on Serena Williams cover

GQ magazine has prompted widespread bemusement for a cover featuring Serena Williams as its “Woman” of the Year – with many questioning the use of quotation marks in the title describing the US tennis star.

The men’s magazine revealed covers featuring several of its Men of the Year on Monday – including actors Michael B. Jordan, Henry Golding and Jonah Hill. But it was the cover introducing Williams as its pick for the female version of the accolade which caused the biggest commotion.

The image next to the tennis star – who was clad in a revealing black outfit set off with a chunky Chanel belt – was accompanied by a title with the word ‘Men’ crossed out and replaced by “Woman,” denoting the gender in quotation marks.

REPORT: CNN AND JIM ACOSTA FILE LAWSUIT AGAINST TRUMP ADMINISTRATION

CNN and Jim Acosta are allegedly suing the Trump administration for removing the press credentials of the controversial reporter following a tense incident Wednesday during a news conference at the White House.

According to ABC’s former White House correspondent Sam Donaldson, Acosta and his employer filed a lawsuit and are expecting a court hearing in the upcoming week.

The news came during an episode of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” when Donaldson told host Brian Stelter that he had been asked by the network to give an affidavit in support of Acosta.

Yet a CNN spokesperson would not say that it was going ahead with any legal action against the Trump administration, telling The Hill that “no decisions have been made.”

Burying The Other Russia Story: WSJ Editors Expose The House Democrats' Real Plan

Arguably the most important power at stake in Tuesday’s election was Congressional oversight, and the most important change may be Adam Schiff at the House Intelligence Committee. The Democrat says his top priority is re-opening the Trump-Russia collusion probe, but more important may be his intention to stop investigating how the FBI and Justice Department abused their power in 2016. So let’s walk through what we’ve learned to date.

Credit for knowing anything at all goes to Intel Chairman Devin Nunes and more recently a joint investigation by Reps. Bob Goodlatte (Judiciary) and Trey Gowdy (Oversight). Over 18 months of reviewing tens of thousands of documents and interviewing every relevant witness, no Senate or House Committee has unearthed evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to win the presidential election. If Special Counsel Robert Mueller has found more, he hasn’t made it public.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How low can the Democrats go, in pursuing a vendetta-dipped agenda, still stuck in their anger from losing the 2016 election ?!?

All the way to pure, hellish, unmitigated evil, it appears.

Here’s All the Times Obama Ejected the Media

President Donald Trump’s explosive exchange with Jim Acosta, and the subsequent revocation of his White House press credentials, is now the big story. Naturally, CNN and every other liberal rushed to his defense, and claimed Trump’s hostility towards the media is unprecedented. Ironically, these same liberals loved it when Obama showed disrespect to journalists they disagreed with – they’re just unhappy now they’re feeling the same fire.

There were numerous occasions in which Obama (and others in his administration) actually ejected journalists from his press conferences – and of course you didn’t hear hysterical screeching about “dictators” and “fascism” and “the free press being under attack.”

Facebook CEO Zuckerberg Rejects Requests to Attend Int'l Fake News 'Consortium'

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has refused requests from five countries demanding that he testify about the rising ‘threat' of fake news on his social media platform.

"We were very disappointed with this dismissive response," the Committee replied. "Five parliaments are now calling on you to do the right thing by the 170 million users in the countries they represent."

NPR POSITS NAZIS ARE RECRUITING ALL OF OUR CHILDREN IN ONLINE GAMES WITH VERY LITTLE EVIDENCE

At this point, journalistic handwringing over the assumed dangers of video games has moved beyond annoyance levels and into the trope category. Violence, aggression, becoming sedentary, and the erosion of social skills have all been claimed to be outcomes of video games becoming a dominant choice for entertainment among the population that isn't collecting social security checks, and all typically with little to no evidence backing it up. This has become so routine that one can almost copy and paste past responses into future arguments.

But NPR really went full moral panic mode with a post that essentially claimed the recruitment of children into rightwing and Nazi extremist groups is a full on thing, while an actual analysis of what it relied on to make that claim reveals, well, very little of substance at all.

Webmaster's Commentary:
