Billionaires May Pose the Single Greatest Threat to U.S. "Democracy"

The union I lead, the United Steelworkers (USW), believes in unity, that “all working men and women, regardless of creed, color or nationality” are eligible for membership.

That was the guiding principle of the Steel Workers Organizing Committee (SWOC) when it formed in 1937.

US Sends Large Military Convoy to Syria Despite Claim of ISIL Full Collapse

A large US military convoy entered Northeastern Syria past weekend despite President Donald Trump’s declaration of victory against the ISIL in the war-torn country.

According to a report from the Hasakah Province, a US military convoy consisting of more than 150 trucks entered Syria via the Simalka Crossing at the Iraqi border. American military convoy reportedly contained a large amount of weapons that were to be delivered to the Washington-backed Kurdish fighters.

As reports of the Last ISIL bastion being on the verge of complete liberation were coming in, US President Donald Trump rushed to boast of the US-led Coalition’s victories. Days ago, he showed reporters a map showcasing how ISIL-controlled territory has dramatically shrunk over the years, and stressed that the militants “are losers and barely breathing”.

But, Syria’s envoy to the UN, Bashar Jaafari, dismissed the US leader’s jubilant language as a “bluff” and “untrustworthy”.

Crazy Baseball Superstitions From The History Of The Sport

Baseball players are among the most superstitious athletes of any sport. I mean, the Cubs thought they were cursed for 100 years because some guy could bring his goat to see a game. Even individual players are prone to odd rituals and strange superstitions. Lucky jerseys, lucky socks, lucky bats…baseball players seem to assign special significance to random objects and believe they have the power to influence the score. Here are some of the wackier baseball superstitions that will change the way you look at some of your favorite players.

America's Fentanyl Problem: China Can Turn Off The Tap... If It Wants

In 2017, Islamic insurgents in Niger ambushed and killed a four-man US Special Forces team. It was front-page news and considered a catastrophe.

That same year, over 28,000 Americans died of overdoses involving the synthetic drug, fentanyl. Yet, it seemed less of an attention-getter in Washington – and still does – even as the death toll mounts.

The fentanyl mostly comes from the People’s Republic of China – although the media usually downplays or ignores this point – seemingly afraid to mention the ‘C’ word.

Bishop Richard Williamson's latest on the holohoax

On January 31 last, the European Court of Human Rights announced its long-awaited decision to reject the appeal of the author of these “Comments” against his almost unanimous condemnation by seven different courts of law in Germany over several years for the “crime” by German law, of questioning on German soil in November of 2008 whether Six Million people really were gassed under the Third Reich... Now let us look at laws and courts which punish any questioning of the notorious murder of Six Million victims in World War II. Was it a historical fact, or not? If it was true, then to question it can be bad if the damage done is bad enough, but if the murder never took place, then it is in accordance with truth to call it in question, and not only is it not bad, it is positively good, to call it in question.

Political Correctness Demands Diversity in Everything but Thought

To my great surprise, when I recently wrote about the brutal militarism and human-rights violations of the Islamic State, I received more criticism from my readers than I’ve gotten for anything I’ve ever written. Dozens of them asked to be removed from my mailing list, as many as I’d normally get in a full year. Others were convinced that it couldn’t actually be me who was the author of such words, that I must have been hacked. Some wondered whether my recent illness had affected my mind. Literally! And almost all of the Internet magazines which regularly print me did not do so with this article.

Now why should this be?

Nonetheless, it is clear that African Americans find blackface offensive. Blackface isn’t just about a costume; it invokes a racist and painful history.

Boeing Could Be Charged for Not Making 737 MAX Safety Upgrades Standard - Report

New accusations against Boeing suggest that the firm could be vulnerable to lawsuits for disabling key safety features of the 737 MAX — including software integral to giving the pilot accurate data in adverse conditions — only providing the upgrades for an extra fee that poorer carriers, including those in Ethiopia and Indonesia, could not afford.

While the formerly extra-fee software addon has now been made freely available to all owners of the 737 MAX regardless of financial health, many suggest that Boeing's strategy of milking extra cash out of what should have been a standard safety feature puts the aerospace company at fault for the crashes, according to reports.

US Ships Again Provoke Beijing By Sailing Through Strait Of Taiwan

Beijing is already threatening retaliation over Washington's expected sale of dozens of F-16s and tanks to Taiwan. But as if ties between the world's two largest economies hadn't already been sufficiently strained, the Navy and Coast Guard again provoked the Chinese leadership on Sunday when they sailed two ships - identified as the Navy destroyer Curtis Wilbur and the Coast Guard cutter Bertholf - through the Strait of Taiwan.

According to Reuters, the gesture, which is part of a redoubled US effort to flex its muscles near Chinese waters, should be interpreted - like other 'freedom of navigation' operations before it - as a sign of support for Taiwan, which is struggling with an increasingly threatening Beijing. The Chinese military has been holding more military drills and missions around the island, as President Xi has made bringing the wayward province back under Beijing's thumb a top priority for his rule.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) In his one-man show by American comedian, Ron White, there is a phrase which I have felt was in order, looking at the deeds of the US military, currently.

At the same moment, while delicate negotiations about China's and the US's trade policy with one another continue, the only thing I can say here, is "You can't fix stupid".

Actually, stupid and reckless, would be a better characterization of these acts, done right at the moment when US/China trade relations are already very strained.

I could probably conjure up some other stupid and reckless scenarios, but the timing, on the part of the US government and military, could not possibly have been worse.

There are two schools of thought in Washington about China; the first is, destroy it militarily, while we still can the US government plans to nuke Russia and China, or cage the rage, and figure out how to treat them as allies.

As a Christian pacifist activist, I far prefer the second course of action.

But there is absolutely no middle road, between confrontation, and peaceful trade; I hope (and pray) that those in the Bowels of Power in DC, understand that, regarding how we treat China.

Glenn Greenwald: Russia Collusion 'Conspiracy' Was "Saddest Media Spectacle I Have Ever Seen"

Offering one of the most scathing responses to the Mueller report summary released Sunday night, Glenn Greenwald, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and founding editor of the Intercept, appeared on Democracy Now! Monday, where he lambasted the mainstream press for helping to perpetuate the "total fraud" that was the Russia collusion narrative.

"This is the saddest media spectacle I have ever seen since I began practicing journalism in 2005 and what makes it even sadder is to watch all the people who invested their journalistic credibility into what proved to be a complete and total fraud and scam continue to try and cling to some vestige of credibility by continuing to spin conspiracy theories that are even more reckless and more unhinged than those we've been subjected to for the past three years."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Glenn, I feel for you; and yes, the American people will not be paying attention to anything the corporate news states any more for quite some time to come.

But by spreading the virus of "Russian Collusion" as a true narrative, that is what these presstitutes and waraspondents truly deserve, and they have brought it on their own heads; but this is absolutely the reality here.

I have a great deal of respect for THE INTERCEPT, and I would think you would feel good about what we do here at WRH, should you happen to visit the site.

Breaking: Two holistic doctors gunned down in their home, authorities say they were murdered by an 11-year-old

At around 7:30 a.m. on March 15th, cops responded to a 911 call and found James Eckert, a 48-year-old chiropractor and ultramarathon runner in critical condition, and his wife, 50-year-old Lizette Eckert, also a chiropractor, dead from a gunshot wound. James later died at the hospital. (Autopsies would later reveal that both James and Lizette died of a single gunshot to the head.)

An 11-year-old boy was found after a two-hour manhunt and charged with second-degree murder. Officials have not provided the relationship between the boy and the victims.2

The couple were described as healers by friends; health-conscious chiropractors and runners, they left their practice in Portland, Maine, “to operate a small farm in Alton, where they raised cows, pigs, rabbits and chickens.”1 They were also devoted parents to their 15-year-old daughter and adoptive sons, 11- and 13-year-old brothers. We cannot imagine how their tiny New Hampshire community is dealing with this tragic loss.

Boeing Shares Dip As Airbus Seals Massive Order From China

The last few days have seen Boeing shares roller-coaster on market swings and idiosyncratic headlines (as Garuda started the worrying trend of canceling airplane orders). Today, Boeing shares slipped after Bloomberg reported that Airbus has secured a long-awaited aircraft order from China.

The confirmation reportedly occurred during a state visit by Xi Jinping to the French capital, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

The deal is due to be announced as soon as Monday afternoon in Paris, said the person, who asked not to be identified discussing non-public information.

While no details were immediately available of the deal, Bloomberg reports that the deal was initially touted more than one year ago by the French government as being valued at as much as $18 billion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Aerobus planes have not been crashing recently; and in their desire to get their newest airplanes up and running, Boeing did not do the due diligence with the inspections, which would have delayed the process, but would have meant the the planes were air-worthy.

Unfortunately, Boeing brought this upon themselves, and heaven only knows if they will be able to come out of this one financially in tact; were I a betting woman, I wouldn't bet that this will happen

I can hear the SMACK! of class-action lawsuits, against both the plane manufacturer, and the two companies which flew the aircraft, without insuring that training on this was mandatory, and against Boeing for signing off on a plane which was defective in its manufacturing.

Pompeo Demands Moscow "Cease Unconstructive Behavior" In Venezuela

As we predicted a number of times before, a proxy war between Russia and the United States appears now heating up in Venezuela — this after over the weekend Russia sent a military transport plane filled with Russian troops commanded by First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces of Russia Gen. Vasily Tonkoshkurov, which landed in Caracas Saturday. We also reported the major development this morning that new satellite images reveal a major deployment of S-300 air defense missile systems to a key airbase south of Caracas.

Russia's highly visible deployment of a small troop contingency along with a reported 35 tons of cargo has resulted in a direct and firm response from Washington as on Monday morning the US Secretary of State called on Russia to “cease its unconstructive behavior”.

According to Reuters Pompeo conveyed the message directly via a phone call with his Russian counterpart Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mikey, Mikey, MIKEY!!

Wake up and smell those tons of reserve heavy crude being rudely pulled away from the US by way of a Russian "military presence" in Venezuela, invited by its LEGITIMATE LEADERSHIP, UNDER MADURO.

And if you thought about pro-actively sending US troops to fend off Russian troops here, in the immortal words of my late Grandmother, "The horse is already out of the barn, which is what she would say if a situation was already out of control, and couldn't be fixed.

If you were even thinking/fantasising about a decap strike on Caracas, it is too bloody late now.

So what are you going to do now, just sit there and whine about missed opportunities, because you waited too long to do them?!?

And your telling Lavrov (who I consider one of the adults in the room in geopolitics) that "... the United States and regional countries will not stand idly by as Russia exacerbates tensions in Venezuela."

Was that ever a rich "pot...kettle...black" moment for you, considering all that the US has done to instigate regime change in this country; and sir, your options just got royally minimized here.

It is almost painful to see how many chess moves ahead Russia's President Putin is, ahead of US foreign policy.

Father Of Sandy Hook Victim Dies By Apparent Suicide At Newtown Community Center

The father of one of the children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting died by apparent suicide Monday morning at a community center building in Newtown, Connecticut, police said.

Jeremy Richman, 49 ? father of Avielle, a 6-year-old who was among 20 small children killed in the mass shooting ? was found unresponsive at Edmond Town Hall around 7 a.m. Monday. Richman has an office at the building, and he founded the Avielle Foundation there in honor of his daughter.

“This is a heart breaking event for the Richman family and the Newtown Community as a whole,” Newtown Police Lt. Aaron Bahamonde wrote in a Facebook post?. “The police department’s prayers are with the Richman family right now, and we ask that the family be given privacy in this most difficult time.”

Connecticut’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told HuffPost it would not release any details related to Richman’s death until Tuesday afternoon.

CBP Detains 9-Year-Old US Citizen For 36 Hours, Accuses Her 14-Year-Old Brother Of Sex Trafficking

Today's example of the government's ugliness comes to us courtesy of Customs and Border Protection. There's a crisis at the border if the latest national emergency is to be believed (it isn't), and the only way to stop it is to ramp up enforcement. If this means tossing a 9-year-old American citizen in the clink, so be it.

A mother and her 9-year-old daughter were separated for 36 hours after the child fell into U.S. Customs and Border Protection custody because agents at the border didn't believe she was who she claimed to be, a mother says.

This debacle started the way something like this usually does: with US citizens engaged in activity they engage in every day. In this case, mother Thelma Galaxia's children were being driven from Tijuana to the border crossing in order to attend school in San Ysidro, California. This was the normal state of affairs for her 9-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son.

Dashcam Video Shows Illinois Cop Ramming SUV into Unsuspecting Teenage Girl

A video showing an Illinois cop deliberately ramming into the car of a 17-year-old girl in a high school parking lot contradicts the initial police narrative that the girl pulled in front of the cop.

The video shows Centralia police officer William White accelerating his patrol SUV before t-boning her car, leaving her with a broken collarbone.

Judging by the video, the deputy had probable cause the person in the white car was only seconds away from committing a mass murder at the high school.

That is, if you believe the cop was acting by the book.

CORSI AND I FOUGHT MUELLER – AND WE WON!

Last Friday as I was about to board a plane, the news broke that Special Counsel Robert Mueller issued his long-awaited report. In so doing, it also leaked that the Special Counsel did not intend to bring any indictments. This was good news for my client, Dr. Jerome Corsi, who had refused to take a sweetheart plea deal if he would testify against the president.

After doing so, Jerry – a longtime friend and colleague (and, according to the leftist media, a proud “co-conspiracy theorist” along with yours truly) – asked me to defend him in the Mueller probe. Today, I have to say the announcement by the Special Counsel was a sweet reward to my many years in the legal trenches, and among the most satisfying of my 42-year career as a trial lawyer. FLASHBACK12 Mar, 2019 : THE TRUMP DOCTRINE

Trump Doctrine? Peeving allies & trashing US empire

As with all US presidents, the incumbent will one day be assigned a “Trump Doctrine” – a grandiose title meant to encapsulate a key feature of foreign policy during his tenure at the White House.
The foreign policy wonks haven’t yet come up with a defining policy feature for a Trump Doctrine. But we may suggest the following: scoring own goals to unwittingly alienate allies and undermine US global power.

Trump’s presidency stands out for the rapidity with which supposed allies have become leery of, if not outright peeved by, American power. That, in turn, has served to erode Washington’s global standing as a presumed leader.

The latest own goal is Trump’s plan to ramp up demands for allies to pay the cost of hosting US troops on their territories>>>

Banning of manifesto raises free speech debate in N. Zealand

New Zealanders are debating the limits of free speech after their chief censor banned the 74-page manifesto written and released by the man accused of slaughtering 50 people at two mosques in the city of Christchurch.

The ban, issued Saturday, means anybody caught with the document on their computer could face up to 10 years in prison, while anyone caught sending it could face 14 years. Some say the ban goes too far and risks lending both the document and the gunman mystique.

At the same time, many local media organizations are debating whether to even name the Australian man charged with murder in the March 15 attacks, 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant, after New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern vowed she would never mention him by name.

In some ways, Tarrant’s manifesto provides the greatest insight into his character and thinking, with neighbors and those he met in a gym in the sleepy seaside town of Dunedin recalling nothing particularly remarkable about him.

INTELBRIEF: THE TRANSNATIONAL NETWORK THAT NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT

In the wake of the New Zealand mosque attacks, links have emerged between the shooter, Brent Tarrant, and a Ukrainian ultra-nationalist, white supremacist paramilitary organization called the Azov Battalion. Tarrant’s manifesto alleges that he visited the country during his many travels abroad, and the flak jacket that Tarrant wore during the assault featured a symbol commonly used by the Azov Battalion. Tarrant’s transnational ties go beyond Ukraine, however. Tarrant claimed that he was in touch with Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian terrorist, and he took trips throughout Europe, including the Balkans, visiting sites that symbolized historical battles between Christians and Muslims. During the video of his attack he could be heard listening to a song that glorified Bosnian-Serb war criminal Radovan Karadzic, and his gun featured racial messages and names of white supremacists from around the world.
