Galeano Died — Revolution Goes On!

In Latin America, Eduardo Galeano was revered as a giant of letters, as a symbol of rebellion, of revolution, and of the fight for justice.

“Utopia is on the horizon,” Galeano once wrote. “I move two steps closer; it moves two steps further away. I walk another ten steps and the horizon runs ten steps further away. As much as I may walk, I’ll never reach it. So what’s the point of utopia? The point is this: to keep walking.”

Galeano told me that he was in love with two ladies, both splendid, both fragile, both tremendously desirable. One was called Utopia, the other, Reality.

Both are dangerous to the masters of the world, to Empire, because one gathers dreams, including dreams for a better world, while the other one bravely tells the truth.

Will Washington Kill Us All? — Paul Craig Roberts

The demonization of Russia and its leader by the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, Fox News, and the rest of the American Propaganda Ministry, by almost the entirety of the House and Senate, and by the White House makes reducing the threat of nuclear war impossible.

How much confidence do you have in Washington? How many times has Washington–especially the crazed neocons–been wrong?

Did you know that Washington keeps 450 nuclear ICBMs on “hair-trigger alert”? Washington thinks that this makes us “safe.” The reasoning, if it can be called reason, is that by being able to launch in a few minutes, no one will try to attack the US with nuclear weapons. US missiles are able to get on their way before the enemy’s missiles can reach the US to destroy ours.

If this makes you feel safe, you need to read Eric Schlosser’s book, Command and Control.

Tsarnaev witnesses moved from Revere hotel

REVERE -- Six defense witnesses for convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who were staying in a hotel near Logan International Airport have been moved to another location outside the city, the Revere police chief said Saturday.

Chief Joseph Cafarelli said he was told that the witnesses staying at the Hampton Inn on Lee Burbank Highway left the hotel Saturday morning with the assistance of Federal Bureau of Investigation. He said he does now know where the witnesses were taken.

“God as my judge, I didn’t even ask. I don’t want to know.”

Tsarnaev’s family arrives as defense readies

Under federal protection in a Revere hotel

Relatives of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are under federal government protection in a Revere hotel, officials said Friday, and are widely expected to assist the defense team as it prepares to present its case next week that Tsarnaev should be spared the death penalty.

“So far Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is a cardboard figure for the jury,” said former federal judge Nancy Gertner, who now teaches at Harvard Law School. “Anything that humanizes him is a good thing for the defense.”

This Is EXACTLY Why Ten Rounds of Ammunition Is NOT ENOUGH!

There has been gun control legislation in state after state and even proposed at the federal level to limit the number of cartridges allowed in a magazine.
Some have suggested 10 is the limit and others have suggested even less.
Of course, these are people who do not have the power of E.S.P. to actually know how many rounds a law-abiding citizen may need to protect themselves; especially since criminals would continue to have magazines above the limit because they don’t obey the laws.

Israeli responsibility for Palestinian misery

To the editor: Tamar Sternthal from the pro-Israel media watchdog CAMERA says that Israel is not responsible for the suffering of the Palestinians at the Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria or for any Palestinian suffering. ("Don't blame Israel for Palestinian misery at Yarmouk," Readers React, April 21).
By forcing Palestinians off their land, either by acts of terrorism (the Deir Yassin massacre in 1948 was the direct cause of them fleeing the war zone) or by actually evicting them at gunpoint and then not allowing them to return to their homes at the end of the war, Israel is absolutely the cause of what has happened to them.

Anti-Muslim 'Killing Jews Is Worship' Ads Set To Go Up On NYC Buses, Subways

Posters with the message “Killing Jews is Worship that draws us close to Allah” next to a photo of a man with a keffiyeh wrapped around his face may soon be plastered on New York City subways and buses, after a federal ruling on Tuesday cleared the way for their placement.

The posters are not sponsored by an anti-Semitic organization, however, but by a pro-Israel one. The American Freedom Defense Initiative, classified as an anti-Muslim hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, has been fighting to get the ads up since last year.

The Armenian government and diaspora are insistent about what this was: a genocide. How I communicate humanity’s challenge to colleagues

*hyperlinks live at source*

I felt it might be helpful to share how I state humanity’s challenge to leaders working for important reforms; particularly the big picture that reformers are asking literal .01% psychopathic criminals for their help. Of course, reform will be impossible until we recognize this important fact.

Among perhaps 100 crucial areas, this particular reform topic is in economics. The e-mail I sent regarding reform responses with nations’ international debt crises (with additional hyperlinks for your education, and deletions to keep this example generic):

Friends and colleagues,
I respectfully and gently suggest that our current work with mechanics of the existing system, and mechanics of (this reform) with intent to optimize public benefits, embrace this Emperor's New Clothes perspective:

Police: Gray should've received medical care before ride

In the clearest acknowledgement of failure yet, Baltimore police said Friday that Freddie Gray should have received medical attention at the spot where he was arrested - before he was put inside a police van.

Officers missed "multiple" opportunities to give him medical attention and once inside the van, Gray should've been buckled into a seat belt. The department's acknowledgement came at a news conference after a week of intense scrutiny and near-daily demonstrations over what protesters say is police mistreatment of blacks in Baltimore and throughout the country.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Death of the Republic

The secretive TPP is an agreement with Mexico, Canada, Japan, Singapore and seven other countries that affects 40% of global markets. Fast-track authority could now go to the full Senate for a vote as early as next week. Fast-track means Congress will be prohibited from amending the trade deal, which will be put to a simple up or down majority vote. Negotiating the TPP in secret and fast-tracking it through Congress is considered necessary to secure its passage, since if the public had time to review its onerous provisions, opposition would mount and defeat it.

Mexicans Are Now Happier Than Americans

How can this be possible?

It might have something to do with the fact that social mobility is much lower in the U.S. than in many other developed countries, and that modern Americans have no more social mobility than in medieval England.

Or that inequality in America today is twice as bad as in ancient Rome, worse than it was in apartheid South Africa, Tsarist Russia, Gilded Age America, modern Egypt, Tunisia or Yemen, many banana republics in Latin America, and worse than experienced by slaves in 1774 colonial America. Indeed, economist and inequality expert Thomas Piketty notes that – for those who work for a living, the level of inequality in the U.S. is “probably higher than in any other society at any time in the past, anywhere in the world ….”

Or that Americans have less access to justice than Botswanans … and are more abused by police than Kazakhstanis.

Al-Qaeda's Air Force: United States And Saudi Arabia

By Brandon Turbeville

It was evident early on that the US bombing of alleged ISIS targets inside Syria was, in reality, an attempt to support the terrorist organization backed by NATO and the US as opposed to an attempt to defeat it. While such a suggestion has been repeatedly labeled as a “conspiracy theory” by the mainstream media and other gatekeepers in the “independent” media, the fruits of America’s labor in terms of the bombing campaign cannot be ignored. Likewise, neither can the world ignore the results of Saudi Arabia’s bombing of Yemen.

The truth is that the United States, NATO, and the GCC/Arab League are bombing in couched support of ISIS, increasing its gains and hold on power with every sortie fired. With this fact recognized, the NATO/GCC network of national governments can now officially be labeled as the Air Force of Al-Qaeda...

Crime And Punishment - Holocaust vs. Paedophilia

Allison Pearson wrote in The Telegraph two days ago, “As Oskar Groening, the so-called Accountant of Auschwitz, goes on trial at the age of 93 for his complicity in war crimes, the 86-year-old Labour peer Greville Janner is excused prosecution for 22 alleged sexual offences against nine boys in his Leicestershire constituency, from the 1960s to the 1980s, because he is suffering from ‘severe dementia’.”

Pearson is spot on. While Groening is merely a Goy and a German, Lord Janner is a Jew and not just an ordinary Jew, but a quite prominent one. From 1978 to 1984 Lord Janner was the chairman of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, an institution that claims to “represent British Jews.” Lord Janner is also dominant in the field of holocaust education. He is clearly concerned with Jewish suffering but apparently dismissive of the shoah he is accused of inflicting on minor boys at the same time he represented British Jews.

Is it time to put a woman’s face on the $20 bill?

It is no coincidence that the target of this effort is Andrew Jackson. Really, the last President to fight the private central bankers centered in the City of London, UK, and win. It is also no coincidence that Jackson was the target of a unsuccessful assassination attempt in the wake of his battles with the private central banks. The two are connected.

In fact, it is my opinion, the assassinations of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and even Kennedy are linked, in part, to their attitudes towards the private central bank that really has been running the world since the Battle of Waterloo: their opinion that the money ownership of the United States should be vested in the people and the states per the US Constitution.
