Mexican Intelligence: ‘ISIS conducting RECON at universities, missile ranges, and electrical power facilities inside the U.S.’

Back in April Judicial Watch reported how their sources revealed that ISIS has already set up a few base-camps near the southern U.S. border. One only 8 miles into Mexico, in “Anapra”, […] “just west of Ciudad Juárez” and another “to the west of Ciudad Juárez, in Puerto Palomas”, closer to New Mexico.

Sovereignty, Sedition and Russia’s Undesirable NGOs

On May 23, 2015 Russian President Vlaldimir Putin signed into law a new bill from the Duma that now gives prosecutors power to declare foreign and international organizations “undesirable” in Russia and shut them down. Predictably US State Department spokesperson, Marie Harf, said the United States is “deeply troubled” by the new law, calling it “a further example of the Russian government’s growing crackdown on independent voices and intentional steps to isolate the Russian people from the world.”

Volunteers Threatened with Arrest for Cleaning Up Oil Spill, They Ignored the Cops and Kept Cleaning

For the past several weeks, the Gaviota Coast in California has seen its delicate ecosystem destroyed by an oil spill that poured roughly 100,000 gallons of oil into the ocean. To make matters worse, the volunteers who spontaneously appeared to help clean up the oil, were threatened with arrest by police for tampering with the scene and apparently putting themselves in danger.

The volunteers were the first people on the scene to help, long before the government agents who were hired arrived.

“I was there for about an hour, and we filled 50 five-gallon buckets. Sadly, I must say, there is no way we removed one percent of that spill,” volunteer Ethan Turpin told the Independent.

According to witnesses, the officers had complained that the volunteers did not have safety equipment that was up to code, and they were not cleaning up the spill according to government guidelines. All the while, government or corporate clean-up crews had still not shown up.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I suspect what the police were really doing was preventing the volunteers from putting pictures of the oil disaster on social media!

Egypt is the laughing stock of the world

The coup regime in Egypt continues to insist on making that great country, in all its civilisational and strategic glory, the laughing stock of the world. The people wake up on a daily basis to a new scandal or farce taking place in our beloved land, which will soon no longer be considered great. It has become cursed; cursed with the blood of its innocent citizens flowing in its streets, which were, once upon a time, pure and clean.

Victory for Privacy, Vindication for Snowden as Phone Dragnet Sunsets

Nearly two years after NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden first revealed the U.S. government was secretly operating mass surveillance programs against the American public, including bulk collection of telephone data, privacy advocates and civil libertarians are celebrating—at least temporarily—after the U.S. Senate on Sunday failed to extend authorities for key portions of those programs before a midnight deadline.

Veterans Affairs Gun Lock Program Just ‘Another Obama Back Door Gun Control Measure’

Vets who say the wrong thing at the VA get that info turned over to the FBI… now they want them to tell the VA officials how many guns they have so they can have gun locks sent to their homes? If these officials really just cared about vets having protected guns, they would leave the locks in a location at the VA for people to anonymously grab a few. This is obviously something very, very different.

NOT SO FAST: Lawyer Wants 'Missing' Clinton Emails Subpoenaed – FROM THE NSA.

Original post.

Vast quantities of our electronic papers and effects are indexed and archived under each of our names (but of course they are not "collected," since collected, it seems, means looked at, not intercepted, diverted, or recorded). This is common knowledge, no matter how many times Mitch "the-content-of-calls-are-not-captured" McConnell Jr. says otherwise.

How many of us, as we daily are forced to witness our government merge with the good old dystopian fiction we were supposed to have read in school, as we realized the chilling literal reality of the surveillance state erected around us, have nervously joked about putting all that data to good use for a change?

Supreme Court throws out man’s conviction for Facebook rap lyrics about killing his ex-wife

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday threw out the conviction of a Pennsylvania man found guilty of making threatening statements on Facebook to his estranged wife, law enforcement officers and others.

The court ruled 8-1 in favor of Anthony Elonis, who served prison time for posting a series of statements on the social media site in 2010 after his wife left him.

The case touched upon the rise of social media and how people use it to express strongly held feelings. But the legal question decided by the court was that Elonis needed to be aware of the threatening nature of his communication in order to be convicted. Lower courts had said he could be culpable regardless of whether he believed his messages could be viewed as threatening.

Huge Explosion In Latakia Reveals US HRW Hypocrisy

By Brandon Turbeville

On May 25, when a large explosion took place in Latakia, Syria, a few mainstream media outlets covered the incident from the angle of it being yet one more sign that the Syrian regime was losing its grip on power. This explosion was followed by a huge yellow plume of smoke that caused many informed observers to wonder whether or not the explosion was that of a chemical weapon.

On the chemical weapons question, however, the mainstream Western press was silent...

Rule By The Corporations — Paul Craig Roberts

The Transatlantic and Transpacific Trade and Investment Partnerships have nothing to do with free trade. “Free trade” is used as a disguise to hide the power these agreements give to corporations to use law suits to overturn sovereign laws of nations that regulate pollution, food safety, GMOs, and minimum wages.

The first thing to understand is that these so-called “partnerships” are not laws written by Congress. The US Constitution gives Congress the authority to legislate, but these laws are being written without the participation of Congress. The laws are being written by corporations solely in the interest of their power and profit. The office of US Trade Representative was created in order to permit corporations to write law that serves only their interests. This fraud on the Constitution and the people is covered up by calling trade laws “treaties.”

DOES JADE HELM VIOLATE POSSE COMITATUS?

Obscured by Jon Stewart’s well-publicized mockery of Texans’ reaction to Jade Helm 15—the US Army’s two-month-long exercise across nine states scheduled to begin in July—is the fact that the criticisms may not all be deranged droolings. The Daily Show‘s Stewart made headlines earlier in May when he ridiculed Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s decision ordering the State Guard to “monitor” Jade Helm. The comedian-cum-newsman called Jade Helm critics “Lone Star lunatics.” But are they? Or is there more to the story? As always, WhoWhatWhy has remained agnostic while asking questions. LAPD Officer charged with murdering innocent man arrested in Mexico

A 27-year-old LAPD officer wanted for the murder of a 23-year old man in a bar fight in Pomona, CA later fled to Mexico and was arrested last week by Mexican police. Henry Solis, a former U.S. Marine, was hiding out in Juarez, Mexico with family members. It should be noted that when Solis reportedly chased, open-fired and killed the man, he was still an LAPD officer. When he fled to Mexico, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck fired him, causing him "a dishonor to the organization."
The FBI had issued a $25,000 reward for information leading to his capture. They also pointed out that "Solis is a former police officer and a former Marine" and that he "SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS AND A SUICIDE RISK."

Israel Is A Discredit To America — Paul Craig Roberts

Jeffrey St. Clair, one of the few remaining Western journalists with a moral conscience, describes the latest Israeli horror to which we are all accomplices.

The Israel Lobby tries to prevent reports and criticism of Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians by branding every critic of every policy of the extreme right-wing Israeli government an “anti-semite.” In other words, if you object to Israeli armed forces shooting down Palestinian children in the streets and then bombing the funerals of the kids the Israelis have already murdered, you hate Jews and are an anti-Semite.

The success that the Israel Lobby has enjoyed in imposing this twisted logic on Congress, the White House, the media, the universities and the insouciant American public is astonishing. As a consequence, Americans are no longer answerable to Christian morality but to the evil that the Israel Lobby represents.

Russia and China mock divide and rule

Divide et impera? It’s not working. And it’s bound to fail miserably.

As it stands, what we do know is that 2015 will be a hair-raising year in myriad aspects... we all still remain under the sign of a fearful, dangerous, rampantly irrational Empire of Chaos.

Russia could outmaneuver Western financial markets by cutting them off from its wealth of oil and natural gas. The markets would inevitably collapse – uncontrolled chaos for the Empire of Chaos (or “controlled chaos”, in Putin’s own words).

In a different vein of the “soft beds of the East” seducing Marcus Aurelius, the silky splendors of chic Beijing offer a glimpse of an extremely self-assured emerging power. After all, Europe is nothing but a catalogue of multiple sclerosis and Japan is under its sixth recession in 20 years.

Decrepit US Resorts to the Viagra of Militarism

The increasing deployment of American navy, warplanes and missile systems – under the guise of «protecting its partners» – is fuelling militarization of the territorial disputes.

US deteriorating relations with China are the latest manifestation of America’s self-declared «manifest destiny» to behave like a global hegemon.

The increasing deployment of American navy, warplanes and missile systems – under the guise of «protecting its partners» – is fuelling militarization of the territorial disputes.

China, for its part, says that its own military presence in the region is to protect its voluminous trade routes. Beijing has pointedly refused to cease its maritime development projects, mainly land reclamation in shoals and reefs that it says are strictly within its territorial limits.
