New Designer Vape Drug Made Guy Think He Was Thor, Attempt to Have Sex with a Tree

This is one instance where you might wanna just say “no.”

Remember the horror of the Miami cannibal attack which was later potentially attributed to designer drug bath salts?

Apparently a new cheap, easily available, synthetic drug is making its way around Florida, and while there are no reports of cannibalism (yet), if one came in at this point, it wouldn’t be all that surprising...

Alabama weighs eliminating all marriage licenses — gay or straight

Alabama has been the state most willing to punch back against federal courts on the question of same-sex marriage.

Ahead of a U.S. Supreme Court decision that could nationalize the practice, lawmakers there are looking at more of a bob-and-weave strategy.

A series of events have brought the subject of high frequency trading abuses once again to the forefront of the financial news reportage.

Although the SEC has investigated high frequency trading and its impact on the market for years, it is yet to explain, never mind halt, the inexplicable streaks of consecutive winning trading days that banks and hedge funds routinely report. On the other side of every winning transaction is an investor, who is losing money and none too happy about it. Where are the market watchdogs that are supposed protect investors from predatory trading?

Turning America into a battlefield: A blueprint for locking down the nation

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.—President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961

The Right Is Race-Baiting on Baltimore

onservative reaction to the unrest in Baltimore sometimes looks like a page out of the old "silent majority" playbook. The right has so far blamed the crisis on unions, welfare, single-parent families, Democrats, the "animalism" of Baltimore residents, and President Obama. Is there a political agenda taking root to exploit this crisis in 2016?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Is this a trick question?

Former Pasco cop is suspect in 1986 Spokane homicide

Police in Spokane say a former Pasco police officer is a suspect in a 1986 homicide in Spokane.

Spokane detectives say they have identified Richard J. Aguirre as a suspect using DNA evidence.

The Spokesman-Review reported Thursday that Ruby Doss was 27 when she was found strangled in Spokane in 1986.

Police say Aguirre’s DNA matches DNA that was collected when Doss was killed.

SOME ARREST DATA THAT MAY HELP EXPLAIN THE BALTIMORE RIOTS

For years, Baltimore had a policy that led to tens of thousands of wrongful arrests?. Baltimore was forced to settle with the ACLU in 2010 and enact a series of reforms. The initiative has now more or less ended, but the damage it caused obviously lingers. “Never mind what it did to your jury pool,” Simon told the Marshall Project. “Now every single person of color in Baltimore knows the police will lie.”

Baltimore Riots And A Vision Of Things To Come

By Brandon Turbeville

The recent death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray at the hands of police in Baltimore, MD has now been added to the long list of American citizens murdered by the law enforcement community. Video footage of Gray’s arrest alone is cause enough for anger but his subsequent death after wounds inflicted by police – while not on video – are an atrocious case of neglect at best and outright torture and murder at worst. Given the track record of the US law enforcement community and the history of Baltimore’s policing in general, the latter is the most likely scenario.

US army exercise on preventing civil unrest spread to Tennessee

New videos have been released over the "riot control teams" for the last few weeks. National Guard along with police and US military forces undertake training exercises across the United States. Training is based under riot control and martial-law scenarios.

According to the officials, the 134th Air Refueling Wing of the Tennessee Air National Guard and the Knoxville Police Department trainings take place once in a month. The troops take turns of being rioters, who throw objects and powder at each other.

"We use this training because we know that if we have to use it in the outside world or within a base then we're ready," National Guard official said.

The troops are to deal with civil unrest and domestic disorder.

The police officers are training the Guard troops, "in case they ever come in contact with a riot control situation," according to the official.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious the government knows that some huge financial correction is going to hit the US and world economy, which could well plunge some portions of this country into chaos.

And as a Christian pacifist, who never advocates violence, I am urging Mike's readers and listeners NOT to give this government the war they are prepared to fight and win against you, as these exercises demonstrate.

Be calm, prepare, the best you can, and have patience.

The next major change in government will not be won with weapons, but with computer keyboards, sharing what you know with whom you know.

CA SB277 ON VACCINES MOVES TOWARD DISASTROUS PASSAGE

California Senate Bill 277 has passed through the Judiciary Committee, and needs another Committee’s rubber stamp before it arrives on the Senate floor for debate—and what looks like a ride into law.

Governor Brown will sign the Bill. Brown has become a standard fool. He’s worn out. Whatever interesting ideas he may have entertained in his former “moonbeam” incarnation are gone in the wind.

Bill277 eliminates the personal belief and religious exemptions from vaccination. It also states that children cannot attend public or private school unless they are vaccinated according to the State’s schedule.

Medical exemptions are still allowed, but these won’t be easy to come by, because physicians who grant them will be scrutinized and harassed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder if this is going to cause a huge explosion in home schooling in California, and potentially other states, if unvaccinated kids cannot attend either public or private schools.

America’s Police Will Fight the Next Riot With These Stink Bombs

As protesters and police officers clash on the streets of divided cities such as Baltimore, Maryland, and Ferguson, Missouri, some police departments are stockpiling a highly controversial weapon to control civil unrest.

It’s called Skunk, a type of “malodorant,” or in plainer language, a foul-smelling liquid. Technically nontoxic but incredibly disgusting, it has been described as a cross between “dead animal and human excrement.” Untreated, the smell lingers for weeks.

The Israeli Defense Forces developed Skunk in 2008 as a crowd-control weapon for use against Palestinians. Now Mistral, a company out of Bethesda, Maryland, is providing it to police departments in the United States, including the Ferguson PD.

Webmaster's Commentary:

JUST great: instead of dealing with the situations which led to the protests in first place (like police brutality, which is a national embarrassment here in the US), police departments are going to control crowds with stink bombs developed to be used by Israelis against Palestinians; and then to address any issues the Palestinian people have with them constructively.

Baltimore police cite missteps in arrest of Freddie Gray; Hogan asks for calm

Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts said Gray was not seat-belted after being placed in a transport van, a violation of department policy. Deputy Commissioner Kevin Davis said that Gray was not offered medical attention despite several requests and that officers should have called for an ambulance when they arrested him.

CAVING IN TO CORPORATISM: ENDGAME FOR SECRET “TRADE” PACT NEGOTIATIONS

Two game-changing trade agreements — the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and its sister pact, the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) — are perilously close to completion. Their basic aims are three-fold: to elevate the rights of “investors,” that is of corporations, above the rights of citizens; to transfer sovereignty from the seats of national government to the corporate HQs of the world’s largest multinationals; and to cement Western domination of the global economy for the foreseeable future.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the last bitter step of corporations owning the world, setting legislation norms, and pretty much, in this country, completely ignoring the needs and concerns of American citizens.

Multinational corporations have pretty much owned the world for some time now; these pacts simply make it "official". That is why Obama won't even let Congress see the pertinent documents on these treaties.

CNN reporter blames veterans for Baltimore riots

In a moment of what may have been unbelievable candor, a CNN host demonstrated why hers is one of the least-watched cable news channels on the air today.

Her name: Brooke Baldwin.

As reported by Breitbart News' media critic John Nolte, Baldwin made the outrageous insinuation that veterans, somehow, were responsible, at least in part, for the riots recently taking place in Baltimore.

"After more than a year of CNN pouring gasoline all over America with hysterical, and oftentimes phony, stories of American racism, the left-wing network's afternoon anchor Brooke Baldwin finally took it to the next level by blaming American veterans for the Baltimore riots."

Baltimore: Violent demonstrations or demonstrations against violence and injustice?

I know what the anti-RT brigade in the corporate media are expecting here. They imagine I’ll take great satisfaction from current events in Baltimore. No, I don’t. There’s nothing good about watching a nation or city fragment along ethnic or racial lines.

Just as there’s no joy in Ukraine’s current predicament, where the State Department stoked festering ethnic tensions and destroyed a country. Nor was there anything positive about the civil war that raged in Ireland’s north-east corner when I was growing up a couple of hundred miles south.

Public School “Child Nutrition Supervisor” Served Students Reeking, Six-Year-Old Pork

(Nutritional Anarchy) Stories continually coming out of public schools illustrate time and again that our school lunches are “bad,” but this story makes Michelle Obama’s school lunch program look like a fancy dinner at a four-star restaurant.

After a determination made by someone given the title “Child Nutrition Supervisor” and the school’s cafeteria managers who performed “tests,” a decision was made to serve school children six-year-old pork in Hawkins County, Tennessee.

First of all… if you have to perform tests before you serve something obviously questionable enough to warrant tests to hundreds of trusting, innocent children…

Here’s an actual quote about the meat from local news outlet WBIR:

“The actual woman making a stink about it said it smelled so bad they made gravy to put over the meat to give it a smell and give it a better taste,” said [Hawkins County Commissioner Michael] Herrell.

Ew.

In Closed Door Meeting, Police Commissioner Says No New Evidence of Force Related Injuries to Freddie Gray

According to State Delegate Jill Carter who attended the meeting, emotions ran high as the Commissioner gave a limited briefing on the few details related to the case. Carter told The Real News Network the Commissioner said after several weeks of investigation there is still no evidence of injuries caused by use of force. The only injuries thus far are to his spine.

Baltimore’s Disgrace Is History of Police Violence

While much of the police’s racist violence is waged out of sight — such as when a mentally ill black female prison inmate was shocked to death with a Taser in February while shackled — the landscape is sufficiently militarized to remind us we’re living in a war zone (albeit not of the variety envisioned by Breitbart.com). All day Saturday, police helicopters and drones circled overhead, giving the impression that “protesting while black” might also be some sort of punishable offense.

And on Monday, when tensions boiled over and young Baltimoreans repeatedly threw rocks at police tanks and cruisers, the scene was eerily reminiscent of the Occupied Territories, which should surprise no one who has followed U.S. police militarization in accordance with the Israel Defense Forces model.

The US Dollar Just Took a Massive Plunge

After the Commerce Department released their assessment of the US Economy, the markets were not pleased. The data revealed that America’s GDP has only grown at a 0.2% annual rate. Both American and European stock markets dipped, with the Dow Jones industrial average dropping 49.78 points, and Nasdaq losing 19.71 points. What was even more shocking was the sudden drop in the value of the US dollar, which fell to 9-week lows.

This marks the second biggest drop in 6 years, and the worst decline since the dollar began its meteoric rise in 2014. Despite this, recent polls show that American confidence in the economy is remaining stable. However, it’s hard to say how long the media can maintain this level of optimism if this trend continues. As Zero Hedge put it, “This poses a problem for talking-heads: if USD strength is indicative of US economic strength… what does a plunging USD imply?”

You can't imagine it. The imagination doesn't have the facility to wrap around something like that in the consciousness of most people. Most people wouldn't give it a second thought anyway. If it's not happening to them, it might as well not be happening at all.

Gangs and 'Outside Agitators': Baltimore Authorities Pick Their Conspiracy Theories

When the protests in Baltimore first turned violent on Saturday, the local government rushed to blame "outside agitators" for the trouble. When that narrative fell apart—almost all the people arrested in connection with the unrest that night turned out to be locals—official circles shifted without pause into another story. Now the Bloods, the Crips, and the Black Guerrilla Family, three gangs that had called a truce to march against police brutality, were supposedly secretly plotting to "take out" cops. Such supergang stories usually turn out to be false, and we've seen no good reason to believe this one is an exception. (The gangs themselves insist that they've been trying to maintain order, not disrupt it. Tuesday night they were out in force, trying to keep the crowds calm.)

The Federal Reserve bank and its owners, the largest banks on Wall Street, want badly to be able to charge you interest for the privilege of depositing your funds.
