Montana Bill to Help Block Federal Militarization of Police Signed into Law

By Michael Maharrey

The new law will prohibit state or local law enforcement agencies from receiving drones that are armored, weaponized, or both; aircraft that are combat configured or combat coded; grenades or similar explosives and grenade launchers; silencers; and “militarized armored vehicles” from federal military surplus programs.

But, handouts of such equipment from the Pentagon are far from the only way that the federal government has been militarizing local police...

OBAMA URGES SAUDI DICTATOR ABDULAZIZ TO KEEP ATTACKING YEMEN

Obama expressed his desire for Saudi dictator Abdulaziz to continue his illegal assault on Yemen, “pushing for a continuation of the war” and announcing, mafia-like, that “the job is not done”. The dictator has complied, carrying out further attacks on the impoverished and starved country, with a Saudi Prince announcing that he will reward the terrorists physically carrying out the bombings with Bentleys, a brand of ultra-luxury automobile.

Regarding the farcical prosecution of Oskar Groening, the "Accountant of Auschwitz"

Every month or so, a European government, usually Germany and almost always at the behest of international Jewry, arrests an old man for allegedly being "complicit in the Holocaust." . . .

. . . For the past few days, the mainstream mass media and Jewish press have been hysterically reporting on yet another farcical prosecution of an elderly German man who is alleged to be "complicit in the Holocaust."

Oskar Groening, an ex-Auschwitz guard and former sergeant in the SS now ridiculously known as the "Accountant of Auschwitz," is currently standing trial in Lüneburg, Germany for his purported “complicity in the murder of 300,000 mostly Hungarian Jews in two months during the summer of 1944,” according to The New York Times.

Iran Armenians honor massacre centennial

Armenians claim that up to 1.5 million Armenian Christians were systematically slaughtered in eastern Turkey through mass killings, forced relocations and starvation, a process that began in 1915 and took place over several years during World War I and the breakup of the Ottoman Empire.

Turkey fiercely opposes the use of the term “genocide,” saying that the conflict saw many people from both sides killed.

MEAGA BEX Alert!!! - "Auschwitz guard offers Germans something rare: A Nazi who admits what he did"

BERLIN — On the opening day of his trial on 300,000 counts of accessory to murder, the man known as the "accountant of Auschwitz" told of the moment he lost his "euphoria for Adolf Hitler."

He was standing on a train platform after Hungarian Jews had been unloaded at the Nazi death camp. The unwitting condemned already had been sent to the gas chambers. The newly arrived slave laborers had been sent in a different direction.

Left behind on the platform was a crying infant. As the child cried, one of the now 93-year-old Oskar Groening's fellow SS officers approached it, grabbed it by the leg, dashed its head against a nearby truck, then tossed the lifeless body into the truck.

As horrific as that story is, what might have been more shocking was Groening's next observation.

"I don't know what else I could have expected the guard to do with the baby," he mused. "I suppose he could have shot it, though."

Argentine independent scientists support WHO on glyphosate cancer link

While the rest of the world takes on board the WHO’s verdict and moves forward, the UK Science Media Centre is in denial. Claire Robinson reports

In the wake of the re-classification of glyphosate herbicide as a probable carcinogen by the IARC, the cancer agency of the World Health Organisation (WHO), support has poured in from independent scientists and agencies worldwide. The quotes listed below this article were collected from independent scientists in Argentina by the journalist Dario Aranda (English translation by GMWatch) in an article for the newspaper Pagina12.

For example, one quote is from Rafael Lajmanovich, professor of the Department of Ecotoxicology, National University of Litoral, and a researcher at CONICET, the main national research council of Argentina. Lajmanovich said, "The international scientific community has warned for years, backed up by studies, that glyphosate is carcinogenic. It is good that WHO has recognized this fact.”

Change They Don’t Believe In

The unfortunate consequence of not allowing the process of “creative destruction” to occur in banking and Big Business is that the historic forces behind it will seek expression elsewhere in the realm of politics and governance. The desperate antics of central banks to cover up financial failure can’t help but provoke political upheaval, including war.

It’s a worldwide phenomenon and one result will be the crackup of economic relations — thought by many to be permanent — that we call “globalism.” The USA has suffered mightily from globalism, by which a bonanza of cheap “consumer” products made by Asian factory slaves has masked the degeneration of local economic vitality, family life, behavioral norms, and social cohesion. That crackup is already underway in the currency wars aptly named by Jim Rickards, and you can bet that soon enough it will lead to the death of the 12,000-mile supply lines from China to WalMart — eventually to the death of WalMart itself (and everything like it). Another result will be the interruption of oil export supply lines.

ZAHI HAWASS STORMS OUT OF DEBATE WITH GRAHAM HANCOCK BEFORE IT BEGINS

Hawass demanded that Hancock censor his talk to remove all references to Robert Bauval and the Orion correlation theory. When Hancock explained that the alternative view of history that he was on stage to represent could not exclude the Orion correlation and therefore could not exclude Robert Bauval, Dr Hawass, again shouting, marched out of the debating room. One member of the audience who was present managed to record part of Dr Hawass’s meltdown which is the subject of this video.

Meanwhile, as the audience began to arrive, frantic negotiations took place off stage between the conference organisers and Dr Hawass. Finally Dr Hawass agreed to return and give his talk and answer questions from the audience, but he refused absolutely to hear or see Hancock’s talk, or to engage in any debate with Hancock. Hancock therefore gave his talk to the audience without Dr Hawass present (Dr Hawass sat in a room outside the conference hall while Hancock spoke).

URGENT: Saudi Arabia Bars Iran's Cargo Plane from Entering Yemen's Airspace

The Iranian civilian plane carried humanitarian aids, including medical equipment, for the Yemeni people who have been under the Saudi-led airstrikes for almost a month now.

The plane was bound for Sana'a Airport, but was intercepted by the Saudi fighter jets before entering Yemen's airspace.

Mohammadi Araqi described the Yemeni people's conditions as critical, and said, "We are in contact with Yemen's Red Crescent Society and Health Ministry and have included their needs in the new consignment."

He lamented that planes and ships are not allowed into Yemen's ports and airports, and said, "Unfortunately, the Saudi government has prevented the dispatch of aid to Yemen."

Iran has already sent five consignments of humanitarian aid to Yemen, including a total of 69 tons of relief, medical, treatment, and consumer items.

'I thought it was an atom bomb': Second spectacular volcanic eruption in Chile cakes cities 18 MILES away in ash as thousands are forced to abandon their homes and more flights are grounded

A second spectacular blast from the Calbuco volcano in southern Chile has covered nearby towns and villages in a thick layer of ash.

The first eruption in over four decades yesterday sent vast clouds of ash more than six miles into the air, creating an incredible display of lightning and lava against the night's sky.

Another unexpected eruption in the Los Lagos Region today heightened fears of local waters becoming contaminated, residents developing severe breathing problems and more flights being grounded.

The ash covered cars and houses in cities as far as 18 miles away from the source of the eruption as another massive evacuation effort gets underway.

Previous and equally violent eruptions at Calbuco have continued for up to a week, according to a volcanologist from Oxford University who told MailOnline it is impossible to predict what will happen next.

The state could put red light cameras in the rearview mirror under a bill that has cleared the Texas Senate.

House passes PCNA bill allowing corporations to share your data. The bill contains provisions that would allow the government to use these data outside of cyber threats and to spy on journalists and their sources. It's also FOIA exempt

If you wanted to explain the dilemma of privacy versus security to a curious relative, theProtecting Cyber Networks Act would be a good place to start. The bill has just been passed by the House of representatives (voting 307-116 in favor), and is designed to prevent future cyber attacks by allowing corporations to share information with each other and the government. Civil liberties groups claim the bill tramples on the privacy of the customers, and opens the door for agencies like the NSA to access their data (not that it needs much help, it seems).

RUBIO FAVORITE IN $HELDON $WEEP$TAKE$

Before Iowa and New Hampshire, GOP candidates are competing in the Sheldon Adelson primary, and some will travel to his posh Venetian hotel in Las Vegas this weekend in hopes of winning it. But one candidate — Marco Rubio — has emerged as the clear front-runner, according to nearly a half-dozen sources close to the multibillionaire casino mogul.

In recent weeks, Adelson, who spent $100 million on the 2012 campaign and could easily match that figure in 2016, has told friends that he views the Florida senator, whose hawkish defense views and unwavering support for Israel align with his own, as a fresh face who is “the future of the Republican Party.” He has also said that Rubio’s Cuban heritage and youth would give the party a strong opportunity to expand its brand and win the White House.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So elections, in this country, have come to this; it is no longer We the People who actually elect Presidents; it is the large corporations and front-men for Israel who buy candidates to fulfill their agendas, just as one would buy a side of beef.

And what is most depressing as to how this process has evolved, is the hard reality that the needs and concerns of working Americans are completely eclipsed by the needs and concerns of a foreign nation, and the huge corporations, which literally write most of the legislation under which the rest of us are forced to live.

Elections in the US are a Kabuki-like process, engineered to give the citizens of this country the illusion that they have some, even minor, control over their destinies when they absolutely do not.

And if you want a good look at how that works, take a look at what we know of the TPA:

Congress’ tax committees announced an agreement Thursday to speed through a bill to give President Barack Obama the fast-track authority that he will need to push mammoth new trade deals through Congress. While many believed a deal was in the works, news that it was actually done came as a surprise to members of both the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee, which had been called to a hearing on the deal less than 12 hours earlier. The “trade promotion authority” bill, or TPA, would allow the White House to cut new trade deals with Asian and European nations, and then pass them through Congress using expedited procedures. Under these rules, the deals cannot be amended or obstructed, and they get a simple up-or-down vote.

Again, great for corporations, but generally lousy for We the People.

Any questions, folks?!?

Judge orders NY buses to run ‘Killing Jews’ ads

It was a major victory for not just bigotry but for bigotry which is poorly expressed through confusing, obscure, inner-baseball advertising campaigns. (They are pretty meta, though. I’ll give them that.) Not surprisingly, Geller praised the decision as a “triumph for liberty and truth.” Her lawyer, David Yerushalmi, who the Anti-Defamation League denounced for his “record of anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant and anti-black bigotry,” was equally thrilled:

Judge Koeltl’s well-written and considered opinion sends a loud and clear message to Islamic terrorists around the globe as well as to those government bureaucrats who believe that Sharia’s blasphemy laws are an exception to the First Amendment. And that message is this: America’s liberties will not give way to Islamic terror threats nor to government bureaucrats who are quick to cast aside our liberties for fear of offending Muslims.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To every Muslim in this country who works hard, loves their family, and participates in their community with tolerance and benevolence with their fellow and sister Jews, Christians, Buddhists, and non-believers, I am very, very sorry for this ruling.

Every Muslim I have ever met in a business environment immigrated to this country for the same reasons my ancestors came here; to avoid discrimination; to give their kids better opportunities for education; and to find a job or found a business where they could thrive.

That such blatant racial, and religious, profiling should be allowed on public transport should be an affront to us all.

Whether an American gets ahead is also more dependent on the income and education of their parents, he said.

The School Of The Americas Is Still Exporting Death Squads

In 2009, just a year before Sebastián Piñera became president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet approved the training of 211 Chilean recruits at the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC), formerly known as the School of the Americas (SOA).

Between 1999 and 2010, Chilean governments sent a total of 1,205 recruits to the school, with Bachelet remaining at the helm of cooperation with the U.S.-based institute that has graduated scores of alumni involved in human rights violations under Chile’s dictatorship era from 1973 to 1990.

Despite the macabre reality inflicted upon Chileans during Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship, the Concertación governments of the center-left, allegedly embarking upon a democratic future for Chile, retained ties with the school that produced torturers such as Miguel Krassnoff Martchenko, who, according to torture survivors, never concealed his identity while subjecting his victims to brutality.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This country's leadership always talks about human rights, human dignity, democracy and compassion while teaching torture, dictatorship, oppression, and suppression of popular, indigenous movements.

It is no wonder that this country's leadership is considered schizophrenic, if not downright psychotic, by much of the rest of the the world's more sane leaders.

Chinese school likened to 'cell block' after pupils jump to their deaths

A middle school in northern China has been likened to prison block after bars were installed on windows and balconies to deter pupils from jumping to their deaths, according to a newspaper report.

The security measures have been taken at Hengshui No. 2 Middle School in Hebei province and were prompted after two pupils killed themselves jumping, apparently due to the pressure they felt to succeed academically, the Beijing Times reported.

One died in October last year and the other last month, the report said.

The school is well known for the high percentage of pupils who are admitted to China’s top universities and has a reputation for academic excellence, according to the newspaper.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But what will not change here is the psychological environment which causes kids to kill themselves?!?

Or do educators in China just consider these kids as "collateral damage" for having had the temerity to take their own lives, when the pressure got too great?!?

CORPORATE SOVEREIGNTY TRUMPS NATIONAL LAWS; HERE'S HOW THE US THINKS IT CAN GET AROUND THAT

For a while now, Techdirt has been writing about the extraordinary corporate sovereignty chapters in trade agreements that grant foreign companies far-reaching powers to sue a government simply for issuing regulations that impact their investments. Recently, there has been a textbook example of how the investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) tribunals that adjudicate corporate sovereignty cases are literally a law unto themselves. A post on The Hill explains the background:
A company sought to develop a mining and marine terminal project in Canada, but it had to obtain approval from provincial and federal authorities. As part of that process, the company had to submit an environmental impact study (EIS) addressing the project’s potential impacts on the natural and human environment.

HOLOHOAX MAGIC: FITTING 13 STADIUMS INTO 1 GARAGE

You see, we are expected to believe that 1.1 million people (officially and suspiciously reduced from the 4 million that had been claimed for 50 years!) were herded into a "gas chamber" the size of a 3-car garage, then killed by bug-spray (Zyklon B), right under the noses of Red Cross camp inspectors, while inmate soccer games were going on in an adjacent field.

The hard-working killers (or their slaves) then had to enter the poison room (perhaps wearing HazMat suits?), pick up each dead body one at a time, and then feed them one-by-one into a funeral parlor sized oven for cremation. Whatever happened to that famed German efficiency?

Ex-CIA chief will be sentenced for leaking military secrets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former CIA Director David Petraeus, whose career was destroyed by an extramarital affair with his biographer, was expected to be sentenced Thursday in federal court in Charlotte for giving her classified material while she was working on the book.

Petraeus will appear at the sentencing, which comes two months after he agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor count of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material.

The plea agreement carries a possible sentence of up to a year in prison. In court papers, prosecutors recommended two years of probation and a $40,000 fine. But the judge is not bound by that and could still impose a prison sentence.

The agreement was filed in Charlotte, where Paula Broadwell, the general's biographer and former lover, lives with her husband and children.

Saudi Arabia’s Disastrous War in Yemen

In what has been three decades of ill-advised wars in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen may be the most ill-advised of them all. “Operation Decisive Storm,” the ironic name for Saudi Arabia’s aerial campaign in Yemen, has led to nothing decisive in Yemen beyond ensuring that the country remains a failed state and fertile ground for organizations like al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). Long before the commencement of “Operation Decisive Storm,” Yemen, the poorest country in the Middle East, was grappling with a host of problems ranging from severe water shortages, food insecurity, and a moribund economy, to a long running multi-front insurgency. Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen has exacerbated all of these problems and could well be the coup de grace for a unified and relatively stable Yemen.

From Vietnam to ISIS: Canada needs to apologize

As Canadians pat themselves on the back for taking in Vietnamese refugees at the end of the 1970s, it is perhaps an appropriate time for Canada to apologize to the Vietnamese people for our collective role in creating the refugee flow in the first place.

Canada played a significant role in decimating their country (as well as Laos and Cambodia), aiding and abetting, for example, the permanent alteration of an entire people's gene pool through the production and supply of chemical and biological warfare agents for U.S. forces. The fallout was subsequent generations marked by grotesque physical deformities and severely retarded brain and motor function development. Indeed, Canada produced the chemical defoliant Agent Orange, a dioxin-laced carcinogen, 43 million litres of which were dumped by the U.S. Air Force (this on top of 30 million litres of related defoliants). U.S. soldiers who came home from Vietnam having been soaked in the stuff experienced similar horrors.

Time to Wake up to some Realities on the Iran Deal

Too many cooks spoil the broth, and that appears to be precisely what the Senate had in mind.

Evidently Obama has concluded that a veto-proof majority in both Houses stood behind the Foreign Relations Committee bill, and reluctantly conceded. But that wrests control of the process out of the hands of the Administration. The Iran deal may have died this afternoon.

To make sense of the events that have led to the current negotiations over Iran’s so-called nuclear ambitions, certain elemental realities should be highlighted:
