Senate unanimously passes bill to deny entry to non-citizen 'election meddlers'

The Senate has unanimously approved a bill barring individuals "who improperly interfere" in US elections from entering the country, in a display of legislative virtue-signaling. It's unclear who the act is supposed to affect.

The cleverly-named DETER (Defending Elections against Trolls from Enemy Regimes) Act sailed through the Senate without a single dissenting vote, buoyed by the bipartisan bluster of its sponsors, Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL).

The Facebook shareholder revolt just got bloody.

In a filing on Monday, Facebook revealed how investors voted on a raft of proposals at its annual shareholder meeting last week — and the results underline the unrest among outside investors.

According to an analysis of the results by Open Mic — an organization that works with activist shareholders to improve corporate governance at America's biggest companies — independent shareholders overwhelmingly backed two proposals to weaken Mark Zuckerberg's power.

Some 68% of ordinary investors, those who are not part of management or the board, want to oust Zuckerberg as chairman and bring in an independent figure to chair Facebook's board. This was a significant increase on the 51% who voted in favor of an almost identical proposal last year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sorry, but The Zuck brought this change in his shareholders' minds upon himself, and I have have utterly no sympathy for someone who hubristically believed that he was "over, and above" the law, because of his financial status.

It was a minor fender bender but it led to a man's murder.
If only she had been a police officer, Hannah Payne would easily have avoided the murder charge by simply claiming she was in fear for her life.

Instead, the 21-year-old Georgia woman acted as if she were protected by Blue Privilege when she chased down a 62-year-old man whom she saw strike a tractor-trailer and continue driving on May 7.

"Get the fuck out the car! I'm going to shoot you!" she screamed at Kenneth Herring after pursuing him for a mile, then cutting him off and getting out of her car with the gun.

She then proceeded to punch and grab at him, trying to pull him out of the car.

She then shot and killed him.

"He just shot himself with my gun," she told a 911 dispatcher, according to the Clayton News-Journal.

The family of Kenneth Herring said he was likely having a diabetic episode when he crashed into the car and was probably driving himself to the hospital.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder; was the woman on anti-psychotic or SSRI medications, to make her believe that this was a reasonable thing to do, on her part?!?

And that she could possible think that fingerprint ID would not have established that it was she who fired, not Herring?!?

PIERS MORGAN: The real big baby in London this week is Mayor Khan - a petty little pipsqueak who'd shamefully rather mock and humiliate the President of Britain's greatest ally than honor the D-Day heroes of both our nations

This week, we commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, the largest seaborne invasion in history.

It was the crucial turning point in the war with Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, one that began the liberation of German-occupied France and laid the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front.

THE MESSAGES ARRIVED suddenly and then he went quiet. “My identity is leaked,” he said. “I am worried about my safety.”

The Chinese dissident artist Badiucao had been busy preparing an exhibition in Hong Kong to celebrate Free Expression Week, a series of events organized by rights groups. His show was partly inspired by Google’s plan to build a censored search engine in China, and was set to include work that the artist had created skewering the U.S. tech giant for cooperating with the Communist Party regime’s suppression of internet freedom.

But just days before the exhibition was set to launch last year, at a high-profile event featuring members of Russian punk-activist group Pussy Riot, it was canceled by organizers. Badiucao had received threats from the Chinese government and soon went into hiding.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is bad news for anyone who expresses their concern about anything any Centralized Government has done.

Tesla has begun blocking its employees from accessing anonymous workplace chat app Blind, according to its developers, in an apparent attempt to protect against employee leaks.

Blind allows employees to discuss workplace matters anonymously with their colleagues and industry peers through public and private forums. Since launching in the United States in 2015, the app has attracted thousands of workers from Silicon Valley tech giants including Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Amazon.

More than 2,100 Tesla employees have signed up to Blind. However, the automotive company appears to have moved to stop that figure from increasing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Elon Musk, is probably among the most brilliant inventors/ creators of the 21st century; that being said, however, he does, and desperately, and as of YESTERDAY, need a "business nanny" to take care of his companies in such a way that the negative things about Tesla, will cease of their own accord, because employees are being treated well, and sensitively, and work gets done intelligently and effectively.

Elon, personnel relations are not the kinds of relationships you have with what you create; this is something for someone who does not appear to be behaving in a such a way that utterly shuts people down, and the only way employees believe that they can vent, is through posting on such sources as Blind.

A new lawsuit by the Center for Inquiry (CFI) alleges Walmart is "committing wide-scale consumer fraud and endangering the health of its customers through its sale and marketing of homeopathic medicines."

The lawsuit was filed in the District of Columbia last month. CFI is also involved in a similar suit against CVS, which has been ongoing since June 2018.

"Walmart sells homeopathics right alongside real medicines, in the same sections in its stores, under the same signs," said Nicholas Little, CFI's Vice President and General Counsel. "Searches on its website for cold and flu remedies or teething products for infants yield pages full of homeopathic junk products. It's an incredible betrayal of customers' trust and an abuse of Walmart's titanic retail power."

Webmaster's Commentary:

REALLY, Mr. Little?!?

I have looked at the balance sheet of your organisation, here, and it is interesting that none of your major contributors are not mentioned by name:

Development fund: other employeesTherefore, one might conclude, that there is no apparent documented funding for your organisation.

Perhaps you want to keep people in the shadows about who funds you, and why.

There is not one name from one pharmaceutical company as your donor, but I would strongly suspect that there is a reason for this.

It is completely shameful, that you also have absolutely zero faith in the minds of 21st century consumers, so you have wanted to deny thinking people their "seat at the table" on the issue of supplementary health care, and whether this might be beneficial to themselves and their families.

And seem you are dealing with extreme SMD (extreme Selective Memory Disorder) on this issue, let me take a moment to correct that for you; and you, sir, are most welcome!!

Curcumin: A Review of Its’ Effects on Human Health

This supplement has been used in connection with the following health conditions:

What are probiotics?

Evaluation of the Effects of Dietary Organic Germanium, Ge-132, and Raffinose Supplementation on Caecal Flora in Rats
Why high-dose vitamin C kills cancer cells

To attempt to deny customers the right to supplementation, means that you may, in some cases, be creating a death sentence for some of those people: this is absolutely, completely immoral, and evil to boot.

I cannot begin to tell you, Mr. Little, of how many of my family and friends who have died with cancer, under conventional treatment, and frequently those cancers went into remission, only to re-occur in other parts of their bodies.

One has to wonder, Mr. Little, as to how many pharmaceutical stocks lurk in your financial portfolio, and who, or what "owns you" on this issue. Perhaps there needs to be a "forensic accounting" done on the CFI, to reveal your client list. (Walmart, are you listening?!?)

And if any lawyers/barristers for Walmart happen to read this post, although the allegations contained herein will take a lot more detective work to prove, I think the information I have assembled, may help your case.

While I am not a Walmart enthusiast for a vast number of reasons, I think that this case needs to be dismissed, as a "frivolous lawsuit". And Walmart attornies, if you are smart, you will bring together every study, positively indicating that supplements should have both benefit, and their place in complementary medicine.

Nearly All U.S. Visa Applicants Now Required To Submit 5-Year Social Media History

Under a State Department policy that took effect Friday, almost all visa applicants to the United States will now be required to submit the social media usernames, email addresses and phone numbers they’ve used in the past five years.

The policy shift was described by AP as a “vast expansion” of the Trump administration’s enhanced screening of people wanting to enter the U.S. Immigration advocates have decried the move as a potential impingement on privacy and First Amendment rights.

THE LATEST: Abrams to meet with film executives in LA as ‘heartbeat’ fallout grows

Gov. Brian Kemp postponed a trip to Hollywood to court studio executives upset about his support of the anti-abortion “heartbeat” law. Stacey Abrams, his arch-rival, is planning to go instead to try to stem a revolt.

The Democrat is scheduled to meet with Hollywood figures on June 11 in Los Angeles along with Ilyse Hogue, the president of the abortion rights group NARAL Pro-Choice America, according to an invitation obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The invite, distributed by former CBS chairwoman Nina Tassler, sets up a session to address the “reality that employees in the state may not have full access to healthcare or the freedom to make decisions about their futures and their families.”

Jun 04 08:54

The U.S. State Department now requires most visa applicants to submit their social media usernames, previous email addresses, and phone numbers.

As reported by the Associated Press, this change is a “vast” expansion of President Trump’s enhanced screening of potential immigrants and visitors.

It will affect some 15 million foreigners applying for entry to the US each year.

“National security is our top priority when adjudicating visa applications,” according to a government statement published by the AP.

“Every prospective traveler and immigrant to the United States undergoes extensive security screening,” the State Department continued. “We are constantly working to find mechanisms to improve our screening process to protect U.S. citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United States.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

So I have to wonder; what, ultimately may happen when, PLM (People Like Me), who have been out of the country for awhile, but were peaceful, Christian antiwar activists; are they going to be allowed back in, or will their claim to American citizenship get rejected, simply because of their anti-war activism?!?

Such a move, on the part of the Unhinged, Surveilled Amerikan State, may not be that impossible, in future years; and I do, legitimately, have concerns that such things may well happen here.

The Chinese military killed as many as 10,000 people during Beijing’s vicious crackdown on pro-democracy protesters 30 years ago. But today, those victims and the horrific events of June 4, 1989, in Tiananmen Square have been virtually wiped from China’s collective memory. Beijing has achieved this mass erasure through an unprecedented crackdown on all forms of public speech in the streets and online, relying on advanced technology to automate much of their efforts while detaining people like Deng for making the smallest reference.

This year, those tools have been working in overdrive, focusing primarily on the dissident movement’s last refuge: the internet.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A word to both the Chinese and US governments: the book "1984" by George Orwell, was a cautionary tale; not a "how to book!!"

Over the past 20 years, the share of Americans working in their 70s has risen from less than 10% to nearly 15%, according to US Census bureau data.

In addition to people being healthier and living much longer, economists say that a combination of financial considerations such as years of stagnant real wages and a shift away from traditional pensions in the private sector are some of the reasons people are working longer. The decline of manufacturing and the increase in the number of people working in less labor-intensive occupations also has contributed to the trend says Abraham, who researches work and retirement decisions of older Americans.

“Which matters more [the choice to keep working or the necessity to do so] depends on what your history up until that point has been in the type of work you’re doing,” Abraham says.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At 70, I am still working, because I have found a way of being relevant, and consistently appreciated by my clients. THAT is one of the best possible places to be, if you are my age!! :-)

But I do see a lot of people, many at the local grocery store where we shop, where I am looking at the faces of many of their employees, understanding that few thought they would be at that point of doing the kind of work they do, in their late sixties and early seventies.

California governor won't free Manson follower Van Houten

California Gov. Gavin Newsom overruled a parole board's decision to free Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten on Monday, marking the third time a governor has stopped the release of the youngest member of Manson's murderous cult.

Van Houten, 69, is still a threat, Newsom said, though she has spent nearly half a century behind bars and received reports of good behavior and testimonials about her rehabilitation.

"While I commend Ms. Van Houten for her efforts at rehabilitation and acknowledge her youth at the time of the crimes, I am concerned about her role in these killings and her potential for future violence," he wrote in his decision. "Ms. Van Houten was an eager participant in the killing of the LaBiancas and played a significant role."

Assange won’t face charges over role in devastating CIA leak

The Justice Department has decided not to charge Julian Assange for his role in exposing some of the CIA’s most secret spying tools, according to a U.S. official and two other people familiar with the case.

It’s a move that has surprised national security experts and some former officials, given prosecutors’ recent decision to aggressively go after the WikiLeaks founder on more controversial Espionage Act charges that some legal experts said would not hold up in court. The decision also means that Assange will not face punishment for publishing one of the CIA’s most potent arsenals of digital code used to hack devices, dubbed Vault 7. The leak — one of the most devastating in CIA history — not only essentially rendered those tools useless for the CIA, it gave foreign spies and rogue hackers access to them.

Chinese telecom giant Huawei has purchased the intellectual property rights to facial recognition systems designed by a Russian developer and manufacturer of high-tech security technology.
Some employees of Moscow-based Vokord will also be transferred to Huawei as part of the $50-million agreement, according to sources close to the deal, as quoted by Vedomosti.

Huawei’s Russian subsidiary, along with Hong Kong-based Huawei Digital Technologies, will reportedly become the owners of the intellectual property rights for Vokord’s patents on face ID technology and equipment. The newly formed firm will reportedly be called Igl Softlab. The Russian unit of the enterprise is expected to own 99.99999 percent of the newly formed company.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please; have you noticed, or are some of your advisors aware, of how much more closely Russian and Chinese enterprise, are working so very much more closely together than they have ever done before, after the US sanctions and tariffs were imposed?!?

There seems to be an insane "failure of imagination", in your policies toward these two countries, which, potentially, may bring us to a state of war, with either or both.

In which case, there will have to be a return to the draft, as the US military, in its current configuration, does not conscript.

Look for riots in the streets of this country, when the reintroduction of the draft happens, and I fully understand that you have the capability to assassinate the rioters "with extreme prejudice"

But there is a word, sir, which needs to become part of your vocabulary, and your thought process, and it is a small, bite-sized word, with great impact; that word is, "optics", Mr. President.

How are the optics of such a war, understanding that neither China nor Russia has done the kind of "damage" to the US economy, as to justify such a war?

Mr. President, if you allow this to happen, history will not remember you kindly; just a thought, not anything "from the mountain"; please be aware that, to an impartial observer, we appear to be on the "keening edge" of war with either, or both, countries.

This cannot be allowed to happen, as right now, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing, or the money to ensure a positive outcome to such a conflict.

This Is Why America Is Persecuting Julian Assange

I was in Kabul a decade ago when Wikileaks released a massive tranche of US government documents about the conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq and Yemen. On the day of the release, I was arranging by phone to meet an American official for an unattributable briefing. I told him in the course of our conversation what I had just learned from the news wires.

He was intensely interested and asked me what was known about the degree of classification of the files. When I told him, he said in a relieved tone: “no real secrets then.”

When we met later in my hotel I asked him why he was so dismissive of the revelations that were causing such uproar in the world?

He explained that the US government was not so naive that it did not realise that making these documents available to such a wide range of civilian and military officials meant that they were likely to leak. Any information really damaging to US security had been weeded out.

More creepy “Surveillance Capitalism” courtesy of Amazon who isn’t hiding that it is putting millions of smart speakers in homes and hotels by “offering discounted hardware, customized software and new ways for property managers to harvest and use data.”

Are there actually people willing to pay for this type of arrangement?

From the Wall Street Journal, “Amazon’s Plan to Move In to Your Next Apartment Before You Do.”

For Amazon, the appeal is obvious: Adding millions of new users to its services and gaining access to data like their voice-based wish lists and Alexa-powered shopping habits will put it further ahead of the competition which, at the moment, doesn’t have a significant presence in rental properties and new-home construction.

A couple of new bombshell leaked NSA documents from the Snowden archive published days ago by The Intercept confirms the extremely close level of cooperation between American and Israeli intelligence services, especially as part of the so-called "global war on terror" since 9/11. The documents reveal the NSA even assisted in an aggressive targeted assassination campaign waged by Israel inside Lebanon, especially during the 2006 Lebanon War.

According to The Intercept's report — aptly titled "Israel Hated American Ban on Sharing Intel for Assassinations, so US Made New Rules" —the newly unearthed NSA memos reveal attempts to find a legal loophole of sorts on the part of the US intelligence officials which would allow unprecedented information sharing related to a deeply controversial targeted assassination campaign by Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised by this.

What Israel wants is what Israel gets, in terms of US intelligence; and the targeted killings continue; no judge, no jury, no rule of law whatsoever.

And would someone please like to enlighten me, as to why Israel has zero constitution, after 71 years of existence?!?

Is by chance, or by design, so it can continue killing innocent Palestinians particularly the children, with utterly no legal mechanism for stopping this?!?

One does have to wonder.....
