DICTATORSHIP

The Democrats’ 2020 Campaign Slogan is “Americans suck, vote for us.”

When you have so much of absolutely NOTHING, the only thing you have left is trying to shame, belittle, berate and otherwise demonize everyone you hate. They’re trying to get us to hate ourselves as much as they hate America and Americans. -- My guess is it’s not going to work.

Unleashed & Unchecked, Fake News Media Propaganda Will Destroy America

What Americans are witnessing occurring in their own Country, and what native populations of the Nations of the EU are now witnessing occurring in Europe, is the gathering storm of disaster for European and U.S. citizens alike—a cascading sequence of events—a horrific, cataclysmic reconfiguration of the entirety of Western Civilization into something out of science fiction–a Dystopian nightmare reality, for the populations of of Europe, and for the citizenry of the United States, from which no one can awaken.

Facebook bans Saint Augustine quote as ‘hate speech’

The quote Facebook deemed so offensive is as follows:

Let us never assume that if we live good lives we will be without sin; our lives should be praised only when we continue to beg for pardon. But men are hopeless creatures, and the less they concentrate on their own sins, the more interested they become in the sins of others. They seek to criticize, not to correct. Unable to excuse themselves, they are ready to accuse others.

The vindictive campaign against Chelsea Manning, America’s political prisoner

Whistleblower and political prisoner Chelsea Manning has now been confined to a federal detention center in Alexandria, Virginia for more than four months and is being subjected to punitive fines which could ruin her financially.

Manning is not being punished for any crime, nor has she been charged with a crime. Rather, she is being held in contempt of court for refusing—on principle and courageously—to testify before a star chamber grand jury impaneled to railroad journalist and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange into a US prison, or worse.

Daily fines placed on Manning by Federal District Judge Anthony Trenga for refusing to testify doubled from $500 to $1,000 on Tuesday, with the total now standing at $18,000. The unprecedented financial penalties against Manning threaten her with personal bankruptcy and have already resulted in her losing her apartment in June.

‘Anti-Trump’ CNN Presstitute Defends Trump’s Persecution Of Assange

In the endless brain fart cyclone that is the Trump era, CNN White House Correspondent Jim Acosta has made a name for himself posing as a martyr of the free press. While US mass media have made a theatrical WWE performance of Trump’s occasional mean words toward Acosta under the banner of defending press freedoms, it has been pathetically sympathetic to this administration’s attempt to actually prosecute an actual journalist, Julian Assange, under the Espionage Act.

Iran Urges UK To Rein In 'Deep State'; Germany Warns Of "Uncontrollable" Escalation

Iran’s ambassador in London warned on Sunday that the UK government must get its "domestic political forces" pushing for regime change under control or else the two countries will face dangerous escalation. The public statement came two days after the British-flagged Stena Impero was boarded and captured by IRGC commandos, and over two weeks after the tanker Grace 1 was seized by UK Royal Marines off Gibraltar.

Iranian Ambassador Hamid Baeidinejad urged via his personal Twitter account that continued pressure on Iran would be "unwise" given that Tehran stands “firm and ready for different scenarios”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iranian Ambassador Baeidinejad, I hear you; and I think that the time has come for both the British and US governments to open up intensive lines of communication between themselves, and your government, and right the heck now.

I would like to hope that your voice of reason finds "listening ears", and resonates in the Consulates of the the UK and US. The place where it most probably won't, is with the Israeli government and Saudi Arabia's monarchy.

War against your country would be incredibly stupid, on the part of the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UK, in light of a Russian statement made by a high ranking diplomat at a symposium, indicating that if Iran were attacked, she would not be alone.

U.N. Sanctions Cut North Korea’s Trade Volume in Half

A report published Friday by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), an organization funded by the government of South Korea, showed that North Korea’s trade volume was cut in half during 2018, evidently as a result of sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council.
The KOTRA report showed North Korea’s trade volume falling to $2.84 billion in 2018, a 48.8 percent decline from the previous year. Exports fell by a dizzying 86.3 percent, imports declined 31.2 percent, and the North Korean trade deficit rose by 17.5 percent.

The Korea Times cited the specific U.N. Security Council resolutions that appeared to deflate North Korea’s trade volume so sharply, saying:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yikes; considering the degree to which these US sanctions have crippled North Korea's economy, can one blame its leadership, for being not terribly talkative about peace and denuclearization right now?!?

And as adding more salt into the wound, Secretary Mike Pompeo has just completely disregarded North Korea's charges regarding more military drills with South Korea: Pompeo rejects North Korean charges on Military Drills

The article goes on to state: "North Korea’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday Trump had reaffirmed in a meeting with Kim last month that joint exercises would be halted and the U.S. decision to forge ahead with them was “clearly a breach” of the two leaders’ agreements at a summit in Singapore last year.

The spokesman said this was putting a resumption of nuclear talks with the United States at risk and the ministry said Washington’s pattern of “unilaterally reneging on its commitments” was leading Pyongyang to reconsider its commitment to discontinue tests of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles."

Mr. President, you have GOT to seriously understand what you want here, and allow that to stand, looking at how some "good faith efforts" on the part of the US government might make this doable.

The only alternative here, is war with North Korea, which would most probably pull in China as well; not a great option.

74 Palestinians injured in clashes with Israeli soldiers in eastern Gaza

A Palestinian protester uses a slingshot to hurl stones at Israeli troops during clashes on the Gaza-Israel border, east of Gaza City, July 19, 2019. At least 74 Palestinians were injured on Friday during clashes with Israeli soldiers stationed on the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, medics said. (Str/Xinhua)

GAZA, July 19 (Xinhua) -- A total of 74 Palestinian demonstrators were injured during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the eastern Gaza Strip on Friday, the Health Ministry in Gaza said.

Among the injured were two journalists and four field paramedics, a ministry report said, adding 36 were injured by Israeli soldiers' gunfire.

According to local media, around 6,000 demonstrators gathered on Friday afternoon in eastern Gaza close to the border with Israel.

It was the 67th weekly anti-Israel protest, better known as the Great March of Return rally which started in late March last year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, "Normalization with the Occupier" (Israel) is just about to get as real as the Palestinians can imagine, and that is a very dark future, indeed.

Expulsion, relocation, death and misery are precisely what the Israel government wants to see happen.

And Jared Kushner's "Deal of the Century" is already DOA with Palestinian leadership, because it does not recoginise the legitimacy, or the national aspirations of the Palestinian people in any real way.

Jared Kushner's 'deal of the century' fails to materialise in Bahrain

And to Palestinian leadership, just a note, please; if you are throwing rocks at Israeli forces, you are giving them the justification to shoot back with live ammo and teargas.

I am a Christian Pacifist Activist, who hopes that this "Gordian Knot" can be resolved through negotiation, rather than violence; but as a realist, I understand that there are certain Israelis who would much prefer to see Palestinians dead, rather than give them a "seat at the table", working toward an honest, reconciling of those issues of nationality and the existence of a Palestinian state, rather than continue with this brutal war of attrition.

New Jersey lawmakers are trying to amend the state’s discrimination laws to equate criticism of Israel with antisemitism

?
?
?
?
?
Lawmakers in New Jersey have introduced an antisemitism bill that would prohibit certain criticism of Israel in public schools and universities. The proposed legislation comes on the heels of similar bills being passed in South Carolina and Florida. Last year, the Department of Education adopted a new definition of antisemitism to include criticism of Israel.

SB 4001 was introduced on June 24 by Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Sen. Robert Singer. It aims to ensure that antisemitism is treated the same way as other forms of discrimination by amending state law. However, the bill equates criticism of Israel with antisemitism in a number of places including:

-[D]emonizing Israel by using the symbols and images associated with classic anti-Semitism to characterize Israel or Israeli people, drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis, or blaming Israel for all interreligious or political tensions;

Webmaster's Commentary:

WOW, looks like Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Sen. Robert Singer, are down-rev on their contributions from AIPAC , and are hoping to "sweeten their election pots" by riding high on this legislation.

In the pursuit of war, the first casualty is truth.

When reasonable, legitimate, and logical criticism of Israel is denied by American legislators, this means we are quickly sliding down that heavily greased poll, at maximum velocity, of "Whatever Israel Wants, Israel Gets", be it weapons, wars against alleged "existential enemies", or other atrocities, at the expense of the American people.

And please remember: the Symington Amendment makes it ILLEGAL to give any aid, weapons, or money to countries which refuse to join the NNPT (as Israel consistently refuses to do), and have their weapons sites inspected (as Israel consistently refuses to do).

The Symington Amendment

So Why does Israel get a pass, while other countries, which HAVE signed the NNPT, like Iran, get demonized?!?

That's what is so thoroughly maddening to those of us who expect this country to follow the "Rule of Law", rather than the Rule of Consistent Exceptions to those laws.....by certain "favored nations."

IF this legislation is passed (and I would almost certainly expect it to), I hope it goes right on up to the Supreme Court, as a real attack against both the Constitution, and Bill of Rights.

The Decline of Our Nation’s Generals

Now a new JCS chairman is about to take office. Compared with the headlines generated by the “squad” of House progressives who have attracted the ire of both Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Donald Trump, the process of installing General Mark Milley in this once-important post has received negligible attention.

It would be useful to know if General Milley’s grasp of war has advanced beyond Colonel Milley’s.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Damn; is this the best and brightest out there President Trump could have nominated?!?

The answer, unfortunately, is a resounding "Hell, NO"!!!!

Jeffrey Epstein Allegedly Bankrolled Ex-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s Tech Startup, Israel Media Reports

Ehud Barak, who defeated Benjamin Netanyahu in a 1999 election to become Israel's prime minister, has been linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Less than three weeks after announcing that he will come out of political retirement to challenge Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister in the upcoming Israeli elections, as YNet News reported, former prime minister Ehud Barak is facing allegations that he is financially tied to convicted sex offender and shadowy financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to a sexual offense with a 14-year-old girl, and was arrested again on July 6 on new sex trafficking charges. Barak, a former lieutenant general in Israel’s army, served as Israel’s 10th prime minister from 1999 to 2001, after defeating Netanyahu, who was then serving his first term as Israeli PM.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, the "Epstein Sludgeomania" continues to ooze out into every orifice of Israel's political consciousness, courtesy of this Prime Minister's alleged contacts with Epstein.

San Francisco's Hidden Homeless

Over the last several months, cities and counties across California have been releasing homeless counts. The results have been grim.

San Francisco was no exception. In May, the city released data that showed homelessness had jumped 17%. That was bad enough. Last week, a more complete accounting, known as a point-in-time count, showed the problem was even worse.

The count revealed that homelessness in a city that’s become a caricature of wealth inequality in the U.S. had actually increased by about 30% from 2017, when the last count took place.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a native San Franciscan, this breaks my heart; how could a city with so much intellectual, artistic, and social capital be one the worst for our nations' homeless?!?

HACKERS BREACH FSB CONTRACTOR, EXPOSE TOR DEANONYMIZATION PROJECT AND MORE

SOURCE: ZDNET.COM
Hackers have breached SyTech, a contractor for FSB, Russia's national intelligence service, from where they stole information about internal projects the company was working on behalf of the agency -- including one for deanonymizing Tor traffic.

The breach took place last weekend, on July 13, when a group of hackers going by the name of 0v1ru$ hacked into SyTech's Active Directory server from where they gained access to the company's entire IT network, including a JIRA instance.

Hackers stole 7.5TB of data from the contractor's network, and they defaced the company's website with a "yoba face," an emoji popular with Russian users that stands for "trolling."

Hackers posted screenshots of the company's servers on Twitter and later shared the stolen data with Digital Revolution, another hacking group who last year breached Quantum, another FSB contractor.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The larger question is, to what country is this hacker's group going to sell or share this data?!?

US TO LAUNCH PLAN FOR 'FREE PASSAGE' OF SHIPS IN IRAN'S WATERWAY

SOURCE: ALJAZEERA.COM

Aspen, Colorado - The United States is concerned that a "miscalculation" by Iran could cause an "unintended conflict" in the Gulf, as it prepares to launch a new surveillance and intelligence initiative with its allies to ensure "free and open passage" for ships.

"We are starting a concept called Sentinel in which we will have a series of countries engaged to preserve the free and open passage of commerce in the Strait of Hormuz and in the Persian Gulf," US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy John Rood said at the Aspen Security Forum on Saturday.

The US has had discussions with NATO allies, some "partners in the Gulf" and others to join the effort to keep the "vital waterway" open, said Rood, adding that the new operation would "come into being over the coming days and weeks".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please excuse me, US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy John Rood; but which of our "partners" have stepped forward to create "a coalition of the willing" here?!?

Back in May of this year, Europe told the US to "count them out" as tensions between the US and Iran started to simmer.

War With Iran? Count Us Out, Europe Says

Apparently, you "did not get the memo", from a story breaking just this last Friday, about the US's allies not wanting to create a naval force against Iran, because it might well worsen tensions: Allies resist US call for anti-Iran naval force, fearing it would worsen tensions.

And just one day ago, we had the following story break: A War with Iran Would Wreck the American Energy Market.

The Trump administration needs to do some serious soul-searching as it relates to how it thinks about energy as a whole.
by Connor Sutherland

What seems to be happening here, is that the US has become pathologically incapable, in large part due to Israel's continued (false) accusations of Iran being an existential threat, rather than an economic threat, of making credible, sensible long-term commitments to the energy sector of its economy.

And unless, and until that happens, President Trump is very contentedly putting the US on the keening edge of a war against Iran.

I mean, whatever Israel wants, Israel gets, right, Mr. President?!?

Even if this means a war with Russia, right, Mr. President?!?

And I do not know if any of your aides told you this, but back last month, toward the end of June, a top Russian diplomat made the following statement.
Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says

The guy's name, just in case no one happened to mention it, is Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, and he said this, at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow.

You're welcome, Mr. President.

And please, for the zillionth time: the US military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing, or the money, to create a positive outcome to a war against Iran.

You need some people around you, who do not say, "Yes, Mr. President" when you happen, or any of your advisors, like Bolton, or Pompeo, go off half-cocked, in declaring which countries we are going to fight next, or decide that a war against this or that entity, would be "a good thing", because you have been prevailed upon to not think of the costs of war, even if the US does prevail, which, in most cases, would be both difficult and financially costly, to a nation already drowning in $+/- 23 trillion in debt.

Mr. President, you really need some people around you who will tell you the dark, ugly truth about new potential wars in the Middle East and beyond; and I will guarantee you, that two of those people are NOT your "BFFs in the Middle East, Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen or Israel's Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza, who desperately needs to distract Israel's voters from the corruption charges via a massive US/Saudi invasion of Iran, due to a snap election in September.

I would politely suggest, that you need to contact some Veterans, who have participated in the US wars against Afghanistan, and Iraq; And sir, what I am thinking, is that you will better be able to separate "the grain from the chaff", after these private, one-on- one conversations are held.

And again, you are welcome. Mr. President.

These 30 Pics Show How Dystopic Our Society Already Is, And It’s Pretty Terrifying

While we may imagine a dystopian future of thought police, killer robots and nuclear fallout, the reality is much more boring. Instead of being brutally brainwashed and enslaved by fascist, authoritarian regimes we have willingly enslaved ourselves, meekly allowing the top 1% to get exponentially richer while we drown in a sea of debts, tech, advertising, endless wars, environmental destruction, addictions, depression... the list goes on.

Brilliant, isn't it? But it's ok, there's always Facebook to scroll through (Bored Panda too, obvs), Netflix to watch, chemical-laden meals to consume, manufactured outrages over a mermaid's skin color to comment on... who's got time for thoughtful resistance? Even those that think they are resisting by electing bigoted billionaires, bankers and Eton toffs to represent them are simply playing into their hands, as their dishonest, scaremongering claptrap divides us ever further over political, racial and gender lines!

EL CHAPO ARRIVES AT SUPERMAX PRISON AFTER 'DISAPPEARING' FOR TWO DAYS

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE

Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel, has arrived at the federal supermax prison in Florence, Colorado to serve out a sentence of life plus 30 years handed down on Wednesday. He was also ordered to pay $12.6 billion in restitution.

For two days, the 62-year-old Guzmán's whereabouts remained unknown - even to his lawyers, after federal authorities removed him from the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in lower Manhattan - described by the drug kingpin as "total torture" due to a lack of 'fresh air, clean water and sunlight.'

Late Friday afternoon, however, the Bureau of Prisons confirmed that he had been transferred to the Colorado prison (ADX), where he will live in a 7' x 12' concrete cell with a television (for good behavior) and a 4-inch window to the world for 23 hours per day, according to the New York Times.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And what about all of his American henchmen, and bankers, who laundered his money?!?

When, please, will they be held accountable?!?

The short answer is, NEVER.

A BANK WITH $49 TRILLION IN DERIVATIVES EXPOSURE IS MELTING DOWN BEFORE OUR EYES

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE

Authored by Michael Snyder via The Economic Collapse blog,

Could it be possible that we are on the verge of the next “Lehman Brothers moment”?

It takes a lot to rattle Wall Street.

But Deutsche Bank managed to. The beleaguered German giant announced on July 7 that it is laying off 18,000 employees—roughly one-fifth of its global workforce—and pursuing a vast restructuring plan that most notably includes shutting down its global equities trading business.

Though Deutsche’s Bloody Sunday seemed to come out of the blue, it’s actually the culmination of a years-long—some would say decades-long—descent into unprofitability and scandal for the bank, which in the early 1990s set out to make itself into a universal banking powerhouse to rival the behemoths of Wall Street.

These moves may delay Deutsche Bank’s inexorable march into oblivion, but not by much.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This well could have a "domino effect" on US financial markets; the only question left now, is; when?!?

THE CIA WANTS TO MAKE IT EASIER TO JAIL JOURNALISTS AND NO ONE IN CONGRESS IS STOPPING IT FROM HAPPENING

The CIA is pushing for an expansion of a 37-year-old law that would deter journalists from covering national security issues or reporting on leaked documents. Thanks to a disillusioned CIA case officer's actions in 1975, there are currently a few limits to what can or can't be reported about covert operatives working overseas.

In 1975, Philip Agee published a memoir about his years with the CIA. Attached to his memoir -- which detailed his growing discontentment with the CIA's clandestine support of overseas dictators -- was a list of 250 CIA agents or informants. In response to this disclosure, Congress passed the Intelligence Identities Protection Act (IIPA), which criminalized disclosing the identity of covert intelligence agents.

DEFENSE CONTRACTORS ARE TIGHTENING THEIR GRIP ON OUR GOVERNMENT

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE

Authored by William Hartung via TomDispatch.com,

When, in his farewell address in 1961, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of the dangers of the “unwarranted influence” wielded by the “military-industrial complex,” he could never have dreamed of an arms-making corporation of the size and political clout of Lockheed Martin.

In a good year, it now receives up to $50 billion in government contracts, a sum larger than the operating budget of the State Department. And now it’s about to have company.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origin, the guy was absolutely, entirely correct.

Through wars, the military industrial complex makes obscene profits, even with products which are inferior; late to market; and have an incredible, unjustifiable markup; so it is, also, with the banks which loan money to governments to keep the wars going, with loans which are generally usurious in their interest rates.

The only people for whom wars are horrendous, are those who are "press-ganged" into fighting them.

I cannot say, with any certainty, that the US government will reinstate the draft; but were I a betting woman, I would not bet against this happening, particularly if there is another horrific false flag (to most probably be blamed on the "villian du jure", these days, Iran).

And please understand; wars are not about honor, glory, or protecting or preserving the "American Way of Life.", however that translates to you.

Wars are about regime-changing governments, to create governments which are Western/US centric; expropriating resources to which the US Government has absolutely no moral right; and insuring that those resources are only sold in US dollars.

If you take a look at all the wars from President Bush's attacks against Afghanistan and Iraq; President Obama's regime change in Libya ( because Ghadaffi was about to institute a gold-backed dinar, which would have utterly wiped the floor with the US dollar); and President Trump's threats against Iran (for regime change, and its oil wealth), this is absolutely, painfully, obvious.

In my world, patriotism consists of honoring the good that people do for their country, which may, or may not be something they do for money; the polar opposite of patriotism, is milking a government for every cent you can, in the name of defense, when what the military industrial complex generally creates is very expensive "junk" which completely under-serves our men and women in uniform.

As those of you who read this blog consistently understand; I am a Christian Pacifist Activist, who believes that the US government should use its entire range of options, including moral, hard-won, reasonable negotiations before declaring war against another government.

Unfortunately, with the military industrial complex, which needs wars and conflict to survive, and the Deep State so stunningly in control of US foreign policy, this is only likely to happen...when pigs discover that they are aerodynamic!!

DEA TRACKED EVERY OPIOID PILL SOLD IN THE US. THE DATA IS OUT—AND IT’S HORRIFIC

SOURCE: ARSTECHNICA.COM

Between 2006 and 2012, opioid drug makers and distributors flooded the country with 76 billion pills of oxycodone and hydrocodone—highly addictive opioid pain medications that sparked the epidemic of abuse and overdoses that killed nearly 100,000 people in that time period.

As the epidemic surged over the seven-year period, so did the supply. The companies increased distribution from 8.4 billion in 2006 to 12.6 billion in 2012, a jump of roughly 50%. In all, the deluge of pills was enough to supply every adult and child in the country with around 36 opioid pills per year. Just a 10-day supply can hook 1 in 5 people into being long-term users, researchers have determined.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"The needs of the patients" did NOT include heavy addiction, over a short period of time, thank you very much.

There are alternatives to addiction, including meditation; diet; music; and more. Music calmed pre-op patients just as well as did drugs

I would hope for a future which combines the best, and vetted, alternative therapies with far lower doses of potentially addictive drugs, to keep people from getting addicted.

Unfortunately, these are alternatives which are not really supported by the medical/industrial complex at all, because it eats into drugs' profitability.

TO ATTACK JULIAN ASSANGE, CNN TWISTS EMBASSY SURVEILLANCE RECORDS THAT WERE FIRST COVERED BY SPANISH NEWSPAPER

Spanish newspaper EL PAÍS reported on July 9 that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was spied on by a Spanish private defense and security firm called Undercover Global S.L., when he lived in the Ecuador embassy in the United Kingdom.

The report was based on “documents, video, and audio material” that was “used in an extortion attempt against Assange by several individuals.” In May, Spanish police arrested journalist José Martín Santos, who had a record of fraud, and a computer programmer for their alleged involvement in an “attempt to make €3 million from the sale of private material.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

These trumped up charges are very ridiculous; they were simply items that embarrassed the Democrats, and were most likely coming from Seth Rich., who was very concerned about the tenor - and the direction - the Democratic party was taking, to attempt to insure victory in 2016, and that there was no other outcome possible.

Mueller, Dems Scramble as Russiagate Falls Apart

by Ray McGovern Posted on July 17, 2019

Friday’s surprising report that Robert Mueller had successfully sought an extra week to prepare for his House testimony on Russiagate (now set for July 24) must have come as scary news to those of his fans who can put two and two together. Over the past few weeks, it has become clearer that each of the two frayed findings of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election has now come apart at the seams.

How to Avoid Eating Crow

As the truth seeps out, there will be plenty of crow to go around. To avoid eating it, the Democrats on the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees, the stenographers who pass for journalists at the Times and Post, and the “Mueller team” will need all the time they can muster to come up with imaginative responses to two recent bombshell revelations from the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Pentagon Chief’s Confirmation Hearing Avoids Any Questions About Wars

As the nominee for Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper is set to inherit just a whole slew of US wars around the world. His long hearing at the Senate Armed Services Committee, however, didn’t spend a lot of time talking about wars.

Or indeed any time. Esper was faced with questions about his history as a lobbyist for a major arms maker, and how that was going to fit in to his potential new job. He was asked exactly zero questions about ongoing wars.

Esper assured Senators that he sees “the big picture,” and his focus was heavily on the need for the Senate to spend vastly more on weaponry for the US military, which would be his job as Defense Secretary, and largely just a scaled up version of his lobbying past.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No one in Congress wants to talk about these endless wars, which President Trump has insisted are critical for the survival of this country, and the reality here, is that NO ONE in Congress wants to talk about these wars, as a way to skip responsibility for them.

US, Iran Send Conflicting Signals on Possible Missile Talks

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has claimed that Iran has signaled a willingness to negotiate on the matter of ballistic missiles. Other US officials aren’t so sure, and Iranian officials are also telling conflicting stories on the matter.

“Iran’s missiles are absolutely and under no condition negotiable with anyone or any country,” insisted Alireza Miryousefi, the spokesman for Iran’s UN Mission. That is certainly the position Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has long taken.

Yet Pompeo’s belief that talks are possible didn’t come out of thin air. Rather, Foreign Minister Javad Zarif suggested in the US was willing to cut off arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Iran’s missiles might also be up for negotiation.

That’s probably a non-starter,with President Trump so obsessed with growing arms sales, but does point to a grand bargain potentially being on the table, if both sides want it. The problem is, neither side is being very clear if they want it or not.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Any possibility of a real deal, will most likely be scotched by Pompeo and Bolton, who both would rather see the US at war with Iran for Israel, than any move toward accommodation and threat-reduction.

And there is is something both gentlemen are really good at not seeing; this is The "Russian Option", and made very clear through the announcement of one top Russian official a couple of weeks ago: Zamir Kabulov: the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, has said that Iran will not be alone, if the US attacks it.

India Says It's Working with Russia on De-Dollarisation of Bilateral Trade

New Delhi (Sputnik): India says it is working with Russia to overcome payment issues for its strategic imports from that country. Deputy National Security Advisor of India, Ambassador Pankaj Saran said both sides are working on rupee-rouble trade to overcome a crisis caused by US financial sanctions.

Addressing the Second India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue in New Delhi on Wednesday, Ambassador Saran said this would help overcome India’s adverse balance of trade with Russia.

“As part of the trading environment, there have been talks about trade in national currencies. This again is still a work in progress and we need to see how we can operationalise and move forward on this idea, because increasingly we see many countries in the world are taking recourse to trading in their own respective currencies", said Ambassador Saran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if President Trump understands, to any possible degree, how much these sanctions are hurting - and will hurt - US businesses?!?

TURKEY WILL GET A CHUNK OF SYRIA, AN ADVANTAGE OF BEING IN NATO

ERIC ZUESSE, ORIGINALLY POSTED AT THE SAKER
The success of Turkey’s takeover of Syria’s most pro-jihadist province, Idlib, is making less and less likely that Syria will be able to continue maintaining Idlib as being a part of Syria. (This is something I had predicted, back on 14 September 2018, to be possible or even likely, and now it is actually happening.) On July 10th, Reuters headlined “Assad hits a wall in Syrian war as front lines harden”, and reported that, “More than two months of Russian-backed operations in and around Idlib province have yielded little or nothing for Assad’s side. It marks a rare case of a military campaign that has not gone his way since Russia intervened in 2015. While resisting government attacks, the insurgents have managed to carve out small advances of their own, drawing on ample stocks of guided anti-tank missiles that opposition and diplomatic sources say have been supplied by Turkey.” It continues:

These allegations may well be the KOD (Kiss of Death) for Barak's campaign to serve Israel as prime minister again.

Trump promises to probe China’s alleged ‘infiltration’ of Google

Donald Trump has said his administration will probe accusations that Google has been infiltrated after working with China’s military, days after billionaire entrepreneur Peter Thiel called for the tech giant to be investigated.

The US president tweeted on Tuesday that he would “take a look” at Thiel’s assertion that Google was in cahoots with Beijing and should face a federal investigation. During a speech on Sunday, the co-founder of PayPal urged the FBI and CIA to take action, suggesting that Google may be “thoroughly infiltrated” by Chinese intelligence. Thiel failed to provide evidence when pressed further about his incendiary claims, stressing that he was simply “raising questions” about Google’s relationship with Beijing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Methinks that Google.... has chosen to "mess with the wrong President"!! on this issue.

US POLICE HAVE KILLED OVER 1,200% MORE CITIZENS THAN MASS SHOOTERS SINCE 2015

SOURCE: MATT AGORIST @ THE FREE THOUGHT PROJECT
(Support Free Thought) - Tragically, in America, mass shootings — in which murdering psychopaths go on rampages in public spaces — have claimed the lives of 339 people since 2015. While this number is certainly shocking and far too high, during this same time frame, police in America have claimed the lives of 4,355 citizens.

While some of these citizens were armed and dangerous, others were innocent, unarmed, and include small children. Daniel Shaver was one of these people whose life was brought to a screeching halt as he begged on his knees for police not to shoot him. Despite being innocent and unarmed, this father of three was murdered in cold blood by Philip Brailsford who was never held accountable and allowed to retire from the police force with his pension.

JUDGE REDUCES SONOMA CO. MAN'S $80 MILLION AWARD FROM MONSANTO TO $25 MILLION

A federal judge in San Francisco on Monday reduced an $80 million award levied against Monsanto Co. to $25 million for a Sonoma County man who claimed the company's Roundup weedkiller caused his non-Hodgkins' lymphoma.

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria upheld a jury award of approximately $5 million in compensatory damages to Edwin Hardeman, 70, of Santa Rosa, but said that guidelines in a 2013 Supreme Court decision required him to reduce the jury's $75 million in punitive damages to $20 million.

The ruling leaves Hardeman's total award at $25,267,634. His case was the first to go to trial of more than 1,000 federal lawsuits against Monsanto nationwide.

The US Supreme Court ruling indicated that the damages could not be placed at over 9/1; but why?!? This ruling rather puzzles me, as it doesn't leave a lot of room for legitimate victims' claims.

FLORIDA SHERIFF DEPUTY ARRESTED AFTER PLANTING DRUGS ON INNOCENT PEOPLE

A former Florida sheriff’s deputy was arrested Wednesday for planting drugs and falsely arresting at least 10 people, including one case where Reason obtained body camera footage showing him lying about the results of roadside field test.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced yesterday that, following a months-long investigation, former Jackson County sheriff’s deputy Zach Wester had been arrested and charged with 52 felony crimes, including racketeering, false imprisonment, fabricating evidence, and drug possession.

In a stunning 30-page affidavit, the FDLE laid out how Wester kept unmarked bags of marijuana and meth amphetamines in the trunk of his patrol car, manipulated his body cam footage, planted drugs in people’s cars, and falsified arrest reports to railroad innocent people under the color of law. His victims, many of whom had prior records or were working to stay sober, had their lives upended. One man lost custody of his daughter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why this guy wasn't hit with an Internal Affairs investigation much sooner than the FDLE investigation, is absolutely beyond me; this guy had an almost pathological desire to hurt innocent people.

ARMY CORPS ADMITS TO DUMPING TOXIC WATER INTO FLORIDA ESTUARIES WITHOUT TELLING PUBLIC

Last week, during a meeting of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, an Army Corps of Engineers official admitted that the agency has been dumping toxic water from Lake Okeechobee into local estuaries without any warning to the public.

For years, this has been an open secret among the area’s residents, who have seen the consequences of this policy on the region’s wildlife, but this is the first time the government has admitted that it is actually happening.

Republican Congressman Brian Mast questioned Maj. Gen. Scott Spellmon of the Army Corps during the meeting, asking him about the water that was being diverted from Lake Okeechobee into estuaries on the coasts of Florida. Mast asked if the water that was dumped into the estuaries contained cyanobacteria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There should be a class action lawsuit against the Army Corps of Engineers for this willful pollution of these waters, and all who have been hurt by this, should get compensated.

GOING QUIET: MORE STATES ARE HIDING 911 RECORDINGS FROM FAMILIES, LAWYERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC

At Rhode Island Hospital, Phillips learned that his 46-year-old brother had stopped for lunch at a Subway sandwich shop, in Cranston, when he collapsed.

The cause of death was hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to his death certificate.

In the months since his brother’s death, Phillips — a volunteer firefighter and licensed EMT — has been trying to piece together what happened the day Scott died.

“Being an EMT,” Troy Phillips said, “you just want to know, what happened?”

But he keeps hitting a wall.

Rhode Island is one of about a dozen states that prohibit the release of 911 recordings or transcripts without the written consent of the caller or by court order. The goal generally is to protect the privacy of callers in what may be one of the most stressful moments of their lives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

CPR should be taught in every public school, with a certificate issued, if the kids are capable of knowing when and how to use it, by the end of Junior High School.

This, in and of itself, would save a lot of lives in this country.

MARYLAND POLICE AGENCIES HAVE FOR YEARS BROKEN LAW MANDATING REPORTING OF EXCESSIVE FORCE, CHARGES AGAINST OFFICERS

SOURCE: BALTIMORE SUN
In the wake of Freddie Gray’s death from injuries suffered in police custody and the subsequent protests and rioting in Baltimore in 2015, state lawmakers passed a law mandating police agencies across Maryland report when officers use excessive force or injure someone and cases of officers’ criminal misconduct, among other data.

However, dozens of agencies — including the Baltimore Police Department — never did so. That’s resulted in extreme undercounting of such encounters in annual reports mandated by the law and collated by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.

In 2018, 42 of 148 agencies required to submit data did not, according to the commission.

“There was a misunderstanding here about which unit was responsible for submitting,” said Matt Jablow, a Baltimore Police spokesman, after The Baltimore Sun asked this week about the agency’s failure to comply with the law.

HOW ISRAELI-DESIGNED DRONES BECAME RUSSIA’S EYES IN THE SKY FOR DEFENDING BASHAR AL-ASSAD

How Israeli-designed drones ended up supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is a case study in the complicated relationship between Israel and Russia. Though Russia has been instrumental in protecting the Assad government, which appeared to be on the brink of collapse four years ago, it has also carefully cultivated a military relationship with Israel over the past decade.

After more than seven years of war, the skies over Syria are saturated with aircraft from multiple militaries and armed groups, each pursuing their own goals, including using the country as a weapons-testing ground. American airpower and Kurdish ground forces helped grind the Islamic State’s caliphate down to a tiny pocket before it dramatically collapsed this past spring. Meanwhile, Turkish occupation forces and their proxies are conducting a brutal campaign of repression in the Syrian-Kurdish canton of Afrin.

TOP FBI, DOJ OFFICIALS USE DRUG-CARTEL-STYLE BURNER PHONES TO DODGE FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS, LAWMAKERS

TOP FBI, DOJ OFFICIALS USE DRUG-CARTEL-STYLE BURNER PHONES TO DODGE FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS, LAWMAKERS.

Members of the FBI and Justice Department’s top brass at their Washington D.C.headquarters and other field offices are now using burner phones to stay under the radar of federal investigators and lawmakers, according to FBI insiders.

The shocking revelations come on the heels of news that the FBI deleted thousands of text messages between anti-Trump FBI agents before investigators could review their content.

While that is disturbing on one level, FBI and DOJ hierarchy employing the telecom habits of drug cartel bosses reaches a new low for the once-heralded federal law enforcement agency and the DOJ. And breaks federal laws as well.

Color me completely unsurprised at this.

PFAS CRISIS EXPANDS AS MILLIONS OF AMERICANS IN 43 STATES ARE EXPOSED TO TOXIC CHEMICALS

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE

Tens of millions of Americans in 43 states may have been exposed to toxic fluorinated compounds known as PFAS in their drinking water.

In a report from May, the non-profit Environmental Working Group (EWG) showed how PFAS had exposed upwards of 19 million Americans through contaminated groundwater. EWG found 610 contaminated locations ranging from public water systems, military bases, military and civilian airports, industrial plants, dumps, and firefighter training sites.

Now the environmental advocacy group has identified 58 more military sites where high levels of PFAS used in firefighting foam have been detected in groundwater or drinking water, from Elmendorf Air Force Base and Fort Richardson, Alaska to Fort Eustis, Virginia, reported the Military Times.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is absolutely, completely wrong, and those agencies which allowed this to happen, particularly to our military families, need to get this corrected immediately.

TRUMP MAY APPOINT FRINGE NEOCON TO HEAD INTELLIGENCE

It keeps getting worse. The neocons have burrowed termite-deep inside the Trump administration and rumor has it the president will add yet another one to an important cabinet position.

If there is any substance to the latest rumors, DNI Dan Coats will be replaced by Fred Fleitz, former NSC executive secretary, CIA analyst, Trump Chief of Staff, Bolton enforcer, and CEO of the Center for Security Policy.

This last one should send up a huge red flag. CSP is a project launched by Frank Gaffney Jr., an Islamophobe way out on the neocon fringe. During the Trump presidential campaign, I wrote a short ebook (Donald Trump and the War on Islam) about Gaffney, among other neocons and rabid Israel-firsters exacting a corrosive influence on the Trump campaign.
I wrote:

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is terrifying about so many of these Presidential appointments, is that President Trump is so surrounded by ultra-Rightists, who pathologically cannot distinguish between what is good for the US, and what may be good for Israel, that they may push this country into an absolutely wrong decision regarding Iran.

War with Iran?!? I am sure that Gaffney believes that this will be good for Israel, so he will be very motivated to encourage President Trump to engage in such a war.

There is, of course, one tiny problem with that stance; if the US invades Iran, what will Russia do?!?

The hard, real truth, is that Russia will continue its friendship with Iran, and will not be deterred by US military action taken.

The US has seen what Russian equipment and troops can do, in their getting the US-trained and funded jihadis out of Syria. By attempting to invade Iran, the US will have the opportunity to get clobbered again, as the US military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to such a conflict with Russia right now.

Mr. President, were I you right now, I would hedge my bets in terms of taking any actions against Iran, other than what you have already done, economically. And please remember the following, stated by a Russian Diplomat on 26 June, 2019: Zamir Kabulov says Iran will not stand alone, if attacked by the US

Mr. President, I do no believe that Kabulov was "bluffing" when he made that statement; I would, therefore, strongly encourage you to please take that into account.

CITY HALLS USE FACIAL RECOGNITION TO BLACKLIST AND BAN RESIDENTS

SOURCE: BLOGSPOT.COM

I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Local governments and private corporations are using facial recognition to secretly blacklist people, despite having no valid reason to do so.

A recent article in the Idaho Statesman and in the video above, prove that local governments are using facial recognition to ban residents from accessing city-owned buildings.

The Boise city council claimed that they need facial recognition cameras to protect public employees from disgruntled or unwelcome residents.

Wow, there must be a lot of disgruntled or unhappy residents for the city council to justify putting facial recognition cameras in Boise City Hall and City Hall West, right?

Would you believe both city halls have banned just one single resident because he opposed using city funds to pay for an NBA developmental league team.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a very unwelcome development, and a harbinger of other nasty deplatforming, and side-lining still to come.

I am a Christian pacifist activist; I am not here to create any tension, or upset; I just work with the facts, the best I can, to encourage our government to be responsible and transparent in what it does.

I am sure that every government "alphabet soup" agency is reading my contributions to WRH, and are feeling very exasperated, because I never support violence of any kind. So... peace be with you, my brothers and sisters!! :-)

EU Launches Amazon Anti-Trust Probe

Now that the EU's anti-trust regulator is finished fining the bejeezus out of Alphabet, the European Commission is turning its attention to another American tech giant: Amazon.

The e-commerce giant is facing a formal EU anti-trust probe over its treatment of third-party merchants on its platform, a premise that doesn't sound all that different from the EU's investigation into Google's AdSense advertising business (the EU hit Google with three multi-billion anti-trust fines over the past few years). In addition to the Amazon probe, the EU is also juggling investigations into Facebook, Apple and Twitter over violations of the EU's new GDPR privacy laws.

According to WSJ, Amazon is suspected of "abusing its dual role as both the provider of a marketplace where independent sellers can offer products and a retailer of products in its own right." In particular, the probe will explore whether "Amazon is using sensitive data from independent merchants to compete against them."

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is also very possible, that Google picked the absolutely wrong President to deplatform, as it has done for so many sites supporting President Trump.

Why does the global economy need rescuing after 10 years of non stop monetary stimulus?

Why does the global economy need rescuing after 10 years of non stop monetary stimulus?

I also have an answer and it’s an unpleasant one. Because by bailing out markets and economies at every sign of trouble over the past 10 years central banks have given politicians license to do nothing. And nothing is what you get as political discourse fragments and majority solutions are impossible to come by.

But not only are majority solution impossible to get nobody even wants to even talk about them. Why? Because they involve pain. Voters don’t want to hear pain. Hence all you hear is free money. Tax cuts in 2016. Now we hear free college, health care and debt forgiveness for 2020 and who knows maybe more tax cuts.

Nobody wants to campaign on pain. I get it. But does anyone really think solving the structural problems that are behind slowing growth after 10 years of monetary stimulus are easily solvable?

Bank Run: Deutsche Bank Clients Are Pulling $1 Billion A Day

There is a reason James Simons' RenTec is the world's best performing hedge fund - it spots trends (even if they are glaringly obvious) well ahead of almost everyone else, and certainly long before the consensus.

That's what happened with Deutsche Bank, when as we reported two weeks ago, the quant fund pulled its cash from Deutsche Bank as a result of soaring counterparty risk, just days before the full - and to many, devastating - extent of the German lender's historic restructuring was disclosed, and would result in a bank that is radically different from what Deutsche Bank was previously (see "The Deutsche Bank As You Know It Is No More").

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is going to have a domino effect on other major banks, and most probably very soon.

Rutherford Institute calls on DHS to disclose government surveillance program that tracks, monitors and mines social media influencers & posts

Pushing back against the expansion of secret government surveillance programs and the chilling impact they have on lawful First Amendment activities, The Rutherford Institute is demanding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) disclose the details of a government program proposed by DHS in April 2018 that aims to track, monitor, catalog and mine content posted by social media "influencers."

In filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, Rutherford Institute attorneys are asking for all records relating to a "Media Monitoring Services" surveillance program that would create a "media influencer database" for content created and posted by journalists, editors, social media influencers, and bloggers. The Institute is asking for records and information on the program because of the chilling effect it will have on the First Amendment activities of the citizens targeted by the program.

The Corrupt System Will Never Police Itself

We can no longer deceive ourselves with notions of absorbing Washington D.C. or Wall Street and making them work for us. The hope that this is possible is poison, and the elites use that poison to weaken public resolve. While we sit around waiting for the system to police itself the Earth turns and they become more powerful. Without a dramatic change in our own strategy, without direct action on our part instead of action through political middlemen, I predict our situation will only become worse.

Why the upcoming economic crisis maybe worse than the 08

1) Yield curve inversion has lasted more than 3 months. A downturn is evident. We only have only about two years (max and i think that is generous) from the start of the point of inversion.
2) Right now the market is addicted to cheap money, like an addict would be to heroin. This has been going on for a decade. Business are over-levered and borrowed and they are addicted to those low interests rates.
3) Many Americans are in their eyeballs in debt

US-TRAINED TROOPS SHOOT HONDURAN STUDENTS PROTESTING PRIVATIZATION

Anya Parampil reports from inside a student occupation at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), where US-trained troops shot activists protesting the Juan Orlando Hernandez government’s attempt to privatize education and healthcare.

VIDEO BY BEN NORTON

Anya Parampil is a journalist based in Washington, DC. She previously hosted a daily progressive afternoon news program called In Question on RT America. She has produced and reported several documentaries, including on-the-ground reports from the Korean peninsula and Palestine.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Anya and Ben, my prayers are with you both this morning.

The privatization of these two areas, will result in the following outcomes: the monied will have their children educated, and taken care of, medically; those without money, will simply be consigned to rot in the streets.

And I suddenly got curious, as to just when the last detail of US troops trained some of their Honduran counterparts, and my jaw dropped at the following, from SOUTHCOM:
Honduran soldiers complete U.S. Army led Security Forces Training

And the date of this article: 11 June, 2019, just a little over a month ago..

Apparently, the bit about shooting student protestors somehow... didn't quite make its way into this article.

LONDON POLICE OFFICIAL WARNS JOURNALISTS NOT TO PUBLISH GOV. LEAKS WITH THREATS OF IMPRISONMENT

After a leak revealed that the British Ambassador to the USA had called Trump "inept, insecure and incompetent" (leading to the ambassador’s resignation and a round of Twitter insults between Trump and senior Tory officials), London’s Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu publicly warned journalists not to publish government leaks, threatening to imprison them if they do: "The publication of leaked communications, knowing the damage they have caused or are likely to cause may also be a criminal matter.

I would advise all owners, editors and publishers of social and mainstream media not to publish leaked government documents that may already be in their possession, or which may be offered to them, and to turn them over to the police or give them back to their rightful owner, Her Majesty’s Government."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sorry, Tim Shipman; your government has never really been a representative democracy, and with the monied continuing to dictate policy, it most certainly has no appetite for becoming such an institution.

For decades, both the Brits, and their American cousins, have gone to war on dubious grounds, and essentially expropriated resources to which they had no moral right; regime changed a number of nations to make them more "amenable" to western-centric leadership, and insured that those resources taken are only sold... in US dollars.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origin, he has been proven correct almost too many times to count.

IS THERE A STEALTH FINANCIAL CRISIS? ALARM BELLS ARE RINGING.

SOURCE: RIGGED GAME

THE MARKETS ARE SHOWING DISCONCERTING PARALLELS WITH LATE 2007.

BY PAM MARTENS AND RUSS MARTENS OF WALL STREET ON PARADE

Fast forward to today: On June 3, 2019 one of Britain’s highest profile money managers, Neil Woodford, stunned global markets by announcing that his firm’s flagship fund, the $4.7 billion Woodford Equity Income Fund, would freeze customer withdrawals. The decision resulted from heavy outflows and a large stake in illiquid stocks. The U.K. securities regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority, has opened an investigation into the matter. You can read its initial assessment here.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Deutsche Bank's statement on Friday, may create havoc all throughout the financial sector; we won't know for sure whether - and how much - Deutsche Bank's "restructuring" has been priced into the markets, or if the "shock" of the magnitude of this announcement, will have investors running for the hills.

There is one thing I can say, with more than a bit of confidence; the US's Plunge Protection Team will be very busy for the next 24 hours and beyond, to try to keep the financial carnage to a minimum.

PHILADELPHIA IS USING A SONIC WEAPON ON KIDS -- TO KEEP THEM OUT OF PARKS

SOURCE: THE FREE THOUGHT PROJECT
(Support Free Thought) -

The Philadelphia government is reportedly using sonic weapons on it own citizens, youth and young adults, to keep them out of public parks after hours. We at TFTP were initially caught off guard with the news of compliance weapons usually reserved for riot control being used on kids. Admittedly, we believed it was fake news. Unfortunately, after further investigation, it is no laughing matter and is the first such torture device we are aware of regularly being used on young people in the U.S.

The device we learned is called “The Mosquito” and is installed in at least 30 city parks throughout Philadelphia. The Mosquito isn’t new and was covered by the NY Times in 2005 which describes the implement:

Webmaster's Commentary:

If the hearing damage is real, and documented, it would appear that the residents of Philadelphia have good grounds for a class action lawsuit against the city, and need to have an "amici curiae" brief filed by an attorney, right before the trial is to take place.

CIA INVOKING WIKILEAKS TO PUSH EXPANSION OF COLD WAR ERA SECRECY LAW

When the CIA and other agencies in the United States government pushed for the Intelligence Identities Protection Act (IIPA) in 1981, it was crafted to exclude “covert agents” who resided in the U.S.

There was consideration by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of how the legislation might “chill or stifle public criticism of intelligence activities or public debate concerning intelligence policy.”

More than three decades later, the CIA is apparently unsatisfied with the protections the bill granted “covert agents. It has enlisted a select group of senators and representatives to help expand the universe of individuals who are protected, making members of the press who cover intelligence matters more vulnerable to prosecution.

Democratic Representative Adam Schiff, chairman of the House intelligence committee, was involved in adding language to expand the IIPA to the Intelligence Authorization Act moving through Congress.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder why the US Intelligence community is so skittish right now, and feel the need for more "protection from prosecution" them, but not for reporters, telling the truth as best they can?

I almost sense that there is another big, fat, hairy, ugly story about to come into focus, regarding torture and war crimes, which is going to make the US government very nervous about potential revelations coming from it; this impending legislation very much reminds me of the phrase "Truth is the first casualty of war."

COURT RULES IN FAVOR OF PENTAGON IN JEDI LAWSUIT

SOURCE: NEXTGOV

The Defense Department has triumphed in the eight-month-long U.S. Court of Federal Claims lawsuit filed by Oracle over its $10 billion Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure contract.

On Friday, Senior Judge Eric Bruggink ruled in favor the Defense Department—and Amazon Web Services, which joined the lawsuit as an intervener—stating that Oracle could not meet certain gate criteria when bids were due in late 2018.

The judge’s order also denied numerous allegations made by Oracle over the course of several months, including an alleged conflict of interest between AWS and Defense Department officials.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even in defense parlance, $10 billion dollars .... is still one heck of a lot of Benjamins; one can understand why Oracle fought so hard, to get the award of the contract reversed.

SEXUAL PREDATORS WITHIN AMERICA’S POWER ELITE: WHAT YOU'RE NOT BEING TOLD

SOURCE: THEMINDUNLEASHED.COM
“As political and economic freedom diminishes, sexual freedom tends compensating to increase. And the dictator (unless he needs cannon fodder and families with which to colonize empty or conquered territories) will do well to encourage that freedom.” — Aldous Huxley, Brave New World

(RI) — Power corrupts. Anyone who believes differently hasn’t been paying attention.

Politics, religion, sports, government, entertainment, business, armed forces: it doesn’t matter what arena you’re talking about, they are all riddled with the kind of seedy, sleazy, decadent, dodgy, depraved, immoral, corrupt behavior that somehow gets a free pass when it involves the wealthy and powerful elite in America.

In this age of partisan politics and a deeply polarized populace, corruption — especially when it involves sexual debauchery, depravity and predatory behavior — has become the great equalizer.

Big Lie that ‘mass shootings’ like Sandy Hook require public gun confiscation must be flipped: arrest .01% US rogue state leaders to confiscate THEIR guns for shooting millions in lie-started illegal Wars of Aggression, assassinating JFK, RFK, MLK, etc.,

Please ask and answer for yourself: do our "leaders" care about innocent people and therefore take extraordinary care for public safety, OR are they frightened about public awakening to their rogue state empire and want Americans disarmed to more safely dominate? You are aware that public gun confiscation was our previous government's last move before our ancestors' last American Revolution, so if you honor the breakthrough in freedom We the People stand for, you'd better "arm yourself" with talking points to flip this debate: disarm .01% lying, looting, rogue state criminals, then arrest them.

“Twitter, you are Big Brother, now we know it for sure, we always suspected it,” Waters said in a video posted to Twitter. “You are an arm of the thought police. You are an arm of the forces of oppression. You wish to suppress freedom of speech, journalism, freedom of anything probably.”

Glenn Greenwald becomes focus of Brazil press freedom debate

Several weeks after publishing explosive reports about a key member of Brazil’s far-right government, U.S. journalist Glenn Greenwald was called before a congressional committee to face hostile questions.

“Who should be judged, convicted and in prison is the journalist!” shouted congresswoman Katia Sastre, an ally of President Jair Bolsonaro.

And by some accounts that wasn’t an empty threat: A conservative website reported that federal police had requested that financial regulators investigate Greenwald’s finances. The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and his Brazilian husband also say they have been receiving detailed death threats, calls for his deportation and homophobic comments in an increasingly hostile political environment.

Dr. Jim Fetzer's debrief on Sandy Hook ‘show trial’: Orwellian ‘judge’ violates right for jury to determine disputed facts, claims five versions of death certificate = ‘no differences,’ silences two expert witnesses proving multiple areas of forgery

show trial: noun (especially in a totalitarian state) the public trial of a political offender conducted chiefly for propagandistic purposes, as to suppress further dissent against the government by making an example of the accused.

"Trial by jury; verdict in civil cases. Section 5. The right of trial by jury shall remain inviolate, and shall extend to all cases at law without regard to the amount in controversy; but a jury trial may be waived by the parties in all cases in the manner prescribed by law." ~ Wisconsin State Constitution

TRUMP, BRITS TIRELESS IN ATTEMPT TO GET WAR ON IRAN GOING

SOURCE: KURT NIMMO
On Thursday evening, social media posts claimed the UK flagged and Japanese owned crude oil tanker Atlantic Pioneer had crossed over into Iranian territorial waters. According to the Marine Traffic website, on Friday morning the tanker was in the Gulf of Oman.

BREAKING: #UK flagged ship, #AtlanticPioneer, has officially entered recognized #Iran|ian waters. Time to see what Iran does, if anything. pic.twitter.com/gn05YCtUAe

— Evan McLean (@TheEvanMcLean) July 12, 2019

I don’t know if these social media reports are accurate, but considering the recent behavior of the US and Britain, I cannot discount it. The US, with the help of the UK, is attempting to goad the Iranians into taking action and thus providing a pretext to get the next neocon war going.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have this image in my head, of President Trump, meeting with his cabinet, and saying,"Damn! We can't lie the American people into another war; so what the hell do we do to get this party started, with some kind of false flag that the Americans might actually believe, as a justification for this war against Iran?!?"

Google reminds us with the following statement regarding Israel's next elections, as to just how critical they are in developing, and shaping, both national, and international Israeli policies:

"Snap legislative elections are due to be held in Israel on 17 September 2019 to elect the 120 members of the 22nd Knesset. Following the prior elections in April, incumbent and Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a governing coalition, the first such failure in Israeli history."f

So am quite certain, looking at today's date (12 July), that Israel's Netanyahu, is burning up the phone lines from Tel Aviv to DC, impressing on Trump how damned short the time frame is, for getting such a war going, as to make Netanyahu look "butch" in anticipation of September's snap election in Israel.

I am equally as certain, that Russia's President Putin, and Iran's President Rouhani, are talking to each other about how to calm the situation down, and for Iran not to lash out, if there is an attempt at a false flag.

I'm looking at timing here. The last major summer holiday in the US, at the end of August, is Labor Day weekend, which this year, starts on Friday, 31 August, and lasts through Monday, 2 September. IF the US, the UK, and Israel cannot get a war on or before that point in time, so that the US media can fully indoctrinate the public with it; have it soak into the consciousness of both the American (and British) people before the first full week in September, it may well be too late for such an attack to begin to influence Netanyahu's re-election bid.

UN Launches All-Out War On Free Speech

In January, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, tasked his Special Adviser for the Prevention of Genocide, Adama Dieng, to "present a global plan of action against hate speech and hate crimes on a fast-track basis". Speaking at a press conference about the UN's challenges for 2019, Guterres maintained, "The biggest challenge that governments and institutions face today is to show that we care -- and to mobilize solutions that respond to people's fears and anxieties with answers..."

CALIFORNIA PARENTS HORRIFIED AT NEW SEX-ED AGENDA

In a small California community, parents and clergy were so appalled at the explicit and LGBTQ-inspired lessons, they went undercover to investigate deeper. What they discovered at a Riverside County Comprehensive Health Education meeting so horrified them, they determined to stop the curriculum.

Our Watch President Pastor Tim Thompson said:

“We don’t want our children exposed to some of these things they are showing, this pornographic, sexually explicit material. It has no place in the classroom. It’s not right, and it won’t be tolerated.”

Thompson was referring to Positive Prevention Plus, the text for sex ed classes. John Andrews, parent of a student in the Murietta School District, was sick over the explicit material depicted in the “educational” materials. He said:

Webmaster's Commentary:

That last sentence is a crystal-clear summation of what is wrong with this program.

So Californians who can, please vote with your feet, and move to a state which is infinitely more responsible about how, what, and when educators mention anything this information.

IF you cannot, learn to homeschool, and teach your children that way. Here are some resources for you:

‘Comical & tragic’ when US officials say arms sales to Saudis are about ‘exporting human rights’

It was truly baffling to hear a grilled US official claim during a Senate hearing that the sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia are a ‘manifestation’ of exporting human rights and open society, an anti-war activist told RT.
R. Clarke Cooper, the US State Department’s assistant secretary for political-military affairs, was grilled during a hearing at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday. Defending arms sales to Saudi Arabia, he said that the deal itself means more than just selling weapons.

“Our policy is not just limited to arms transfers. It is a manifestation of what else we export: open society, human rights. That is a part of our policy,” he said. The official added that Washington does not cut security ties with partners like Riyadh that carry “so much weight for our interests.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let me translate this for you, as someone who is reasonably literate in State Departmentese: "Because Saudi Arabia, is, of course, such a resolute haven for human rights, the US government cannot reasonably stop selling US weapons to them."

Upon reading this, I don't know whether to laugh or cry; does this man take every American who reads this for a fool?!?

Let's see how that plays out for real in Saudi Arabia, shall we?!?

Saudi Arabia: Events in 2018

Human Rights in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia laws and punishments.
Featured snippet from the web:

the article goes on to state:

"Criminal law punishments in Saudi Arabia include public beheading, hanging, stoning, amputation and lashing. Serious criminal offences include not only internationally recognized crimes such as murder, rape, theft and robbery, but also apostasy, adultery, witchcraft and sorcery."

Witchcraft?!? Sorcery?!?!

Forgive me, but what century are we in now, please, the 21st?!?

That these laws are still on the Saudi books, is more than a little bit frightening.

For people like R. Clarke Cooper, being able to say such thoroughly stupid things, and not acting as though his hair is on fire, but he cannot smell the smoke, is a real asset in his line of work.

But Clarke, sorry; the "lipstick on a pig analogy" holds very true here, and no matter how much you are trying to spin this as though it were the most moral thing the US could do, this statement reads like codswallop.

Illegal immigrant population to surge 10% this year, flood schools

The continued surge of Latin American illegal immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border will lead to hundreds of thousands being released into the country, increasing the already massive population of migrants by some 10%, according to a new analysis.

“We anticipate more than 700,000 migrants will successfully enter the country, increasing the unauthorized Hispanic population by nearly 10%,” said the influential Princeton Policy Advisors.

What’s more, wrote the group’s president Steve Kopits in a memo provided to Secrets, “By year end, nearly 300,000 migrant children are expected to enter the U.S. Over time, these will show up in the U.S. public school system.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

In light of the reality that the US does an horrific job of truly educating the kids who are here legally, the addition of illegal alien children will completely overwhelm public schools, both in terms of educators, and money.

Cholera Rips Through War-Torn Yemen: Nears 500,000 Cases In 2019

As the UAE announced this week it would withdraw its forces from Yemen as a longtime lead country in the Saudi coalition which has fought Houthi rebels since 2015, the United Nations issued a damning report on what it previously dubbed the "world's worst humanitarian crisis" and what many analysts have described as the "forgotten war," due to the little coverage it receives in the mainstream media.

War-ravaged Yemen has seen more than than 460,000 suspected cholera cases so far this year, which is significantly higher that the total number for all of 2018, at 380,000 — the UN stated early this week.

This as the over four-year long war is has reached casualty numbers on par with the opening half of the Syrian war, expected to reach an estimated 233,000 deaths by the end of 2019, according to a previous UN report issued in May.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I want to ask you to look, very very hard, at the image accompanying this story.

I want to imagine that it was you, attempting to wash clothing in the filthy water you see behind this lady; she has no clean water with which she can do this, and is just praying that no one who is left in her family, gets sick from the horrific state of the water.

Imagine she understands that, the USA, with UAE and Saudi Arabia, have completely destroyed all the water infrastructure in Yemen, and that there also may have been weaponized cholera introduced into the country's water (it happened in World War II, during the war against Japan.)

So I have to ask: how proud are you to be a citizen of a country which routinely commits war crimes in places like Yemen; Iraq; Afghanistan; and Libya, believing that there will never be any consequences to come back and smack smack it in the face?!?

I do love my country, but I weep for the damage it has caused, and continues to cause, both nationally, and internationally.

This is why Mike so consistently reminds people to tell their friends and colleagues, where you think there is some resonance with what we are doing.

So let me ask another question; when was the last time you saw, or heard, a story on Yemen from the Presstitutes and corporate warmongers?!?

My best guess here, would be never.

Chuck Schumer Took Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars In Donations From Jeffrey Epstein

Senator Chuck Schumer accepted thousands of dollars in donations from Jeffrey Epstein in the 1990s, according to the NY Post. Schumer has recently been vocal in demanding that President Trump "answer" for his relationship with Epstein, while also urging Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta to resign.

FEC records showed that Schumer took in seven $1,000 donations between 1992 and 1997 from Epstein. The donations were accepted first as a US congressman, then later while running for the state's senator.

We reported Sunday night that Epstein had has been arrested for allegedly sex trafficking dozens of minors in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005. The new charges claim that "Epstein sexually exploited dozens of underage girls in a now-familiar scheme: paying them cash for 'massages' and then molesting or sexually abusing them in his Upper East Side mansion or his residence in Palm Beach."

Trade War Spurs Biggest De-Globalization Shift Since The Cold War

From an office in Tijuana, Mexico, Roberto Durazo has been capitalizing on one of the biggest shifts in global trade since the end of the cold war.

His company, Ivemsa, has been helping dozens of companies move their factories out of China and other parts of Asia and into Mexico to make goods to be sold domestically and in the United States. Operating in what is known as the “shelter industry”, firms like Ivemsa help international companies operate in Mexico without having to maintain a legal entity.

This example illustrates a wider movement that predates the trade war between China and the US, but one which experts now say is irreversible. After decades in which globalization seemed to be an unstoppable force, the trade war is accelerating a complete transformation of global trade towards a more fragmented model, and Durazo is operating at ground zero.

SAUDI ARABIA LIFTS TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS ON WOMEN

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE

The gradual liberalization of Saudi Arabia's repressive laws and social mores continued on Thursday with WSJ reporting that Crown Prince MBS plans to drop restrictions barring women from traveling out of the country without a male guardian's permission. Though we suspect that this time, there will be no glowing NYT op-ed praising the young crown prince - the kingdom's de facto ruler - for his reformist tendencies and his respect for human rights.

It won't happen right away: WSJ says the kingdom plans to end the ban some time this year. The plan would end guardianship laws relating to travel for men and women over 18 years old. As it stands, women of any age, and men under 21, must have a guardian's permission to travel internationally. Soon, that won't be the case.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly do not believe that history will be kind to this man, or the British, or US government which have enabled his slaughter of innocent Yemenites.

In fact, I am rather amazed that he hasn't called for a complete carpet bombing of the entire country.

Very possibly, the only reason, and perhaps this is a thank God, he has not done this, is that he understands what the optics will be; so while he still has money to buy the best PR his money can buy, has decided to buy public focus on his, to keep the media as off the Kashoggi assassination as possible.

Here’s Mark’s commentary:

VOTING MACHINE MAKERS CLAIM THE NAMES OF THE ENTITIES THAT OWN THEM ARE TRADE SECRETS

SOURCE: TECH DIRT
Recently, the North Carolina State Board of Elections asked suppliers of electronic voting machines a simple question: who owns you? (h/t Annemarie Bridy)
On June 14, 2019, the State Board of Elections requested that your companies disclose any owners or shareholders with a 5% or greater interest or share in each of the vendor’s company, any subsidiary company, of the vendor, and the vendor’s parent company.

This seems like very basic information -- information the Board should know and should be able to pass on to the general public. After all, these are the makers of devices used by the public while electing their representatives. They should know who’s running these companies and who their majority stakeholders are. If something goes wrong (and something always does), they should know who’s ultimately responsible for the latest debacle.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unless and until the names of companies providing voting machines to the states are made public, there should be no purchasing of them by the states which utilize electronic tabulations to determine their outcome, period, end of discussion.

FLASHBACK: BILLIONAIRE PEDOPHILE JEFFREY EPSTEIN SENT BILL CLINTON $3.5 MILLION FROM SECRET SWISS BANK ACCOUNT

SOURCE: RADAR ONLINE ARCHIVE
Billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein sent $3.5 million to Bill and Hillary Clinton‘s foundation after an underage sex slave probe began, according to secret Swiss bank records leaked by a whistleblower.

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Hillary Clinton is reconsidering her 2016 presidential bid because of fears of the embarrassing revelations that could emerge in the coming months about Bill Clinton’s dealings with Epstein.

Sworn statements from Virginia Roberts — the woman who claims she was a teen sex slave forced to have sex with Prince Andrew — also includes the allegation that she saw the former president on Epstein’s “orgy island.”

“I remember asking Jeffrey, ‘What’s Bill Clinton doing here?’ kind-of-thing and he laughed it off and said, ‘Well, he owes me a favor’ … he never told me what favors they were,'” Roberts told lawyers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again, the monied believe that there will never be any consequences for what they do, as long as they can buy off/kill off, or have killed off, those who offend them ion any way.

I remember a wonderful line from the series "Elementary", where Sherlock Holmes is describing his Father, Morland, to the Joan Watson character as someone who has "assassins on speed dial"; this, many times, when it comes to very powerful people, may well be more truth...than fiction.

HOW AMERICAN CORPORATIONS ARE POLICING ONLINE SPEECH WORLDWIDE

SOURCE: GIZMODO
...

The architects of Silicon Valley’s big social media platforms never imagined they’d someday be the global speech police. And yet, as their market share and global user bases have increased over the years, that’s exactly what they’ve become. Today, the number of people who tweet is nearly the population of the United States. About a quarter of the internet’s total users watch YouTube videos, and nearly one-third of the entire world uses Facebook. Regardless of the intent of their founders, none of these platforms were ever merely a means of connecting people; from their early days, they fulfilled greater needs. They are the newspaper, the marketplace, the television. They are the billboard, the community newsletter, and the town square.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember; everything you say in any conversation, or anything you type into your computer, is now public knowledge, and you will wind up getting "hit" with ads for products at which you have looked on line.

I know a couple of days ago, I was looking at a really lovely (and inexpensive) clothing line for a couple of things; suddenly, I was getting ads all over the place on my computer, for this, and other brands of clothing.
It would actually have been funny, if its implications about freedom and privacy, were not so completely grim.

Privacy, as used to be afforded through through a Governmental adherence to the Constitution and Bill of Rights, is completely gone for Americans, at this point in the 21st century.

Please remember this, as you are posting and reading.

The only way to communicate privately in this country any more, is under a very opaque blanket, with a flashlight, and your speaking in sign language to the other person there.

Welcome to the unhinged, surveilled State of Amerika; we're there, folks.

ACOSTA SCRAPPED 53-PAGE EPSTEIN INDICTMENT IN 2008 "AFTER SECRET NEGOTIATIONS": FMR STATE'S ATTORNEY

SOURCE: ZERO HEDGE

Former Palm Beach County state's attorney, Barry Krischer, says that Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta's account of a 2008 plea arrangement his office cut with pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein is "completely wrong," and that Acosta "should not be allowed to rewrite history," according to a Wednesday statement by Krischer.

Earlier in the day Acosta held a press conference in which he vehemently defended the deal to serve just 13 months in county jail - saying that Krischer would have let Epstein walk otherwise.

"Simply put, the Palm Beach State Attorney's Office was willing to let Epstein walk free. No jail time. Nothing," said Acosta. "Prosecutors in my former office found this to be completely unacceptable, and we became involved."

Not true says Krischer - who said that Acosta abandoned a 53-page federal indictment "after secret negotiations between Mr. Epstein's lawyers and Mr. Acosta," according to The Hill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Acosta most likely had a price for what he did, and Epstein most probably met it; that is the way the world is run, for the monied, by the monied, and of the monied.

The incredible "sleaze factor", and the moral horror of those kids getting violated, is never a factor, when the incredibly powerful believe that can get anything they want, and think that they can get away with it.

Of course, they never consider that cameras are running, and silently documenting this behaviour, and that the images (and sounds) may well be used later, for extortion, or blackmail.

Major Red Flags Are Causing Many To Doubt Whether Justice Will Be Done In The Epstein Sex Scandal

It won’t just be Jeffrey Epstein that will be on trial in the months ahead. As this scandal unfolds, the entire U.S. legal system will be on trial, and if justice does not prevail many Americans will lose faith in the system for good.

And of course the rest of the world will be watching too, and so what are they supposed to think about us if we are not able to put Epstein and all of his dirty friends in prison? As I detailed in part three of this series, the evidence against Jeffrey Epstein and his partners in crime is mounting. If Jeffrey Epstein is put behind bars that will be a step in the right direction, but it will not nearly be enough.

Epstein case oozes into Israeli political mud as Netanyahu, Barak trade barbs

SOURCE: TIMESOFISRAEL.COM

Disgraced US billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, arrested on fresh sex-trafficking charges Saturday, was injected into Israel’s political scrum Sunday, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu highlighting Epstein’s alleged connection to rival Ehud Barak.

Epstein, a wealthy hedge fund manager who once counted as friends former US President Bill Clinton, Great Britain’s Prince Andrew, and US President Donald Trump, was taken into federal custody Saturday and is expected to appear Monday in Manhattan federal court, according to law enforcement officials.

One of the officials said Epstein is accused of paying underage girls for massages and molesting them at his homes in Florida and New York in the early 2000s.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well, here is a little "gem' about the relationship between Ehud Barak and Jeffrey Epstein: Ehud Barak’s Name Found in Jeffery Epstein’s Address Book: the “Holy Grail” to Unraveling a Child Sex Network

The article goes on to state:

'Here’s what we know:

Jeffery Epstein is a known pedophile who is now facing new charges of sex trafficking minors

Epstein ran a series of brothels

The brothels were staffed by underage girls who would turn tricks for Epstein’s close associates

Ehud Barak is a close associate of Jeffery Epstein

The brothels were located in Epstein’s Florida and New York homes
Barak was photographed by the Daily Mail exiting Epstein’s New York home
At the same time, Barak was photographed, the photographer, Jae Donnelly, reported: “A steady stream of gorgeous women were spotted coming and going,”

Ehud Barak was circled in Epstein’s “little black book” '

In an FBI affidavit, Alfredo Rodriguez, Epstein’s former house manager, described an address book in his possession as the “Holy Grail” to unraveling Epstein’s sprawling child-sex network. Ehud Barak was one of the names in that book.

IF these allegations prove true, it could be a very unsettling time for Ehud Barak's party, trying to get out from under the coming bad PR right before snap elections.

I am also certain, that the more Netanyahu can get these charges substantiated, or appear to be substantiated, the better chances he has of winning Israel's national elections mid September.

So, what country's intel, makes it a practice of having compromising photos of American Congressional Members, and other business magnates, in order to "persuade them" to sign off on various pieces of US legislation, or give their country most favored trading status?!?

What country manages to get the US to create wars they want to see happen, but only at the costs of American blood, and American money?!?

What nuclear-armed country does not have a constitution, over 60 years after its founding?!

What nuclear-armed country has refused to sign on as a member of NNPT (which , BTW, Iran actually did!)

We all know the answer; that little "frenemy" in the Middle East, to whom the US government consistently gives weapons and money, even though it is illegal, under the Symington Amendment, because they will not sign on as participants to the NNPT Treaty; and people in the Middle East are beginning to notice, that no matter what the US government does for this country , it is never, ever enough.

The US, allegedly an honest broker for peace, can never be trusted again, and the Middle Eastern countries surrounding Israel, understand this.

Freedom of piracy: US seeks allies to outsource hunt for Iranian oil tankers

The latest out of Washington is that the US is looking to put together a “coalition” that would “ensure freedom of navigation both in the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb,” as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford said on Tuesday. These are the waterways connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, and the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, respectively.

The US is in contact with “a number of countries” to see which ones “have the political will” to support the project, the Marine general added.

A legitimate policing project, however, would easily get UN approval and not require some kind of revamped “coalition of the willing” that the US used to illegally invade Iraq in 2003. Not to mention that Iran itself has welcomed a truly international security effort.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sounds great, but which countries will wind up paying for this?!?

AMAZON PLANS NATIONWIDE BROADBAND—WITH BOTH HOME AND MOBILE SERVICE

SOURCE: ARSTECHNICA.COM

Amazon is seeking government permission to launch 3,236 broadband satellites that would cover nearly all of the United States and much of the rest of the world.

Amazon subsidiary Kuiper Systems filed its application with the Federal Communications Commission on Thursday last week, saying it intends to cover all of the US except most of Alaska.

"The Kuiper System covers the area between 56°N and 56°S latitudes," the Amazon subsidiary told the FCC. "Accordingly, customers throughout [the] continental US, Hawaii, and all US territories will have access to Kuiper System services. So too will customers in many other countries within the coverage area. The Kuiper System will not provide FSS [fixed-satellite service] in the majority of Alaska, however, because the state's high latitude is outside of the coverage area."

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF Amazon gets the green light on this, it will mean even more surveillance/harassment of American users by Amazon's systems and technology.

AT LEAST 2% OF US PUBLIC WATER SYSTEMS ARE LIKE FLINT'S – AMERICANS JUST DON'T HEAR ABOUT THEM

SOURCE: THECONVERSATION.COM

More than five years after Flint’s water crisis first hit the news, the city has successfully lowered the lead levels in its water.

The most recently available testing, from the second half of 2018, puts the lead in Flint’s water at 4 parts per billion. That’s well below the level, 15 ppb, that the federal government currently regards as dangerous for public health.

No amount of lead in water is safe, but the lower level in Flint represents a substantial improvement over the 27 ppb reported by the Virginia Tech Water Study at the peak of the crisis in April 2015.

However, even Flint’s highest levels were not atypical for water systems that have problems. Most reports of elevated lead levels cluster in the range between 15 and 20 ppb.

WHERE LEAD PROBLEMS OCCUR
The federal Lead and Copper Rule requires public water utilities to sample home tap water yearly in neighborhoods most likely to face contamination.

China's Losing Control Of Its Crushing Debt Load As Defaults And Missed Payments Skyrocket

China’s economic slowdown and heavy debt load is affecting everybody in the country – even it’s "jewelry queen", Zhou Xiaoguang, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Zhou, who went from selling trinkets on city streets to taking a seat in China’s parliament and becoming Ernst & Young‘s "Entrepreneur of the Year" was faced with the reality of being unable to pay her company's billions of dollars in debt while in a bankruptcy court in April.

She is just one example of a massive debt burden taking its toll on China.

China has relied on borrowing to fuel its expansion for at least a generation. In 2018, the country was known for creating four billionaires a week and is number one globally in self-made fortunes. But this quick pace of growth, with many borrowing heavily in the process, also masked companies' strategic mistakes.

Fueled by debt, many over-expanded into crowded sectors and now those mal-investments and mis-allocations of resources are coming back to bite them.

The Taliban Have Won In Afghanistan

Authored by Brian Cloughley via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

On June 26 two US special forces soldiers were killed in Afghanistan, bringing the total of US military personnel who have died in that useless war to 2429, according to iCasualties, an independent casualty tracker.

No matter what one might think about the rights and wrongs of the war in Afghanistan, it is sad to record such fatalities, and the question that comes to mind is: What did they die for?

According to the US State Department the military are there because “we continue to invest US resources to help Afghanistan improve its security, governance, institutions and economy,” and the Pentagon says “the principle goal… is to conclude the war in Afghanistan on terms favourable to Afghanistan and the United States.”

How?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would politely suggest that this country needs to bring our military home from Afghanistan, as carefully as humanly possible, and also as quickly.
