Obama’s Justice Department secretly helped kill the FOIA transparency bill that was based on its own policy

We’ve long known the Justice Department’s stance on transparency has been hypocritical and disingenuous. But they’ve really outdone themselves this time. Last week, the agency secretly helped kill a bipartisan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) reform bill that was based word-for-word on its own policy.

Native American Man Who Attended Anti-Police Brutality Rally Is Killed By Police Next Day

A man who participated in an anti-police brutality march and rally in Rapid City, South Dakota, on Friday was shot and killed by police a day later, according to reports.

Rapid City Police identified the victim as Allen Locke, 30, of Rapid City. At about 6 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to a subdivision known as Lakota Community Homes to remove a person from a residence there, the Rapid City Journalreported.

Pennington County Sheriff Kevin Thom, who was on sight investigating the shooting, told the Rapid City Journal that Officer Anthony Meirose fired his weapon after Locke allegedly charged him with a knife. Police are saying Locke was shot up to five times by Officer Meirose. Locke was pronounced dead at the scene.

Secret report cited in NSA surveillance lawsuit, govt silent on its existence

Wiebe cited a top-secret 2009 report by the NSA inspector general detailing the government’s email and internet data collection, originally published by The Guardian. Other documents, including AT&T’s first surveillance transparency report, published earlier this year, provide evidence of the program’s reach, he said.

James Gilligan, a Department of Justice attorney, said the government had never confirmed nor denied the existence of the secret 2009 report, and added that AT&T’s report only relates to the legal court orders received under the Foreign Intelligence Act.

Innocent Man Raided, Tased, Beaten, & Shot By a Corrupt SWAT Team who Lied to Get the Raid

A completely innocent man was shot, tasered, brutally beaten, and had stun grenades thrown at him by vicious and incompetent SWAT officers. Then, those same officers tried to cover up their mistake by charging the victim, Chad Chadwick, with six criminal offenses including felony assault on a police officer.

This incident happened in 2011, but it has taken Chadwick three years and his entire life savings, to finally beat the charges that he was falsely accused of. Last month, a jury found Chad Chadwick not guilty of interfering with police. With tears in their eyes members of the jury offered the exonerated defendant comforting hugs, according to My Fox Houston.

“They tried to make me a convict. It broke me financially, bankrupted me. I used my life savings, not to mention, I lost my kids,” said Chadwick.

Cop charged with choking and beating a HOSPITAL PATIENT - after he tried to claim the victim attacked him but was caught on video

A San Francisco sheriff's deputy allegedly choked and beat a hospital patient who walked with a cane - then lied on the police report to cover his tracks.

Michael Lewelling, 33, was accused of approaching a sleeping man as he started to wake up, knocking away his walking cane, grabbing his neck, then arresting him.

He then filed a police report claiming that the man started the fight by attacking him with the cane, according to authorities, who say surveillance video proves he was lying.

Lewelling, who has reportedly been with the San Francisco Sheriff's Department for five years, was arrested Friday and charged with perjury, filing a false police report and battery.

Innocent Man Tasered, Beaten While Naked In the Shower and Framed Later

“While I had my hands up naked in the shower they shot me with a 40 millimeter non-lethal round,” said Chadwick.

A second stun grenade soon followed.

“I turned away, the explosion went off, I opened my eyes the lights are out and here comes a shield with four or five guys behind it. They pinned me against the wall and proceeded to beat the crap out of me,” said Chadwick.

That’s when officers shot the unarmed Chadwick in the back of the head with a Taser at point blank range.

“They claimed I drew down with a shampoo bottle and a body wash bottle,” said Chadwick . . .

“They grabbed me by my the one hand that was out of the shower and grabbed me by my testicles slammed me on my face on the floor and proceeded to beat me more.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I so lovehow police departments around the country are interpreting the phrase "to protect and serve" these days.

What this man desperately needed was to be very gently taken into custody for a complete psych evaluation. Threatening that he had a shotgun did not help either, but the SWAT team, after thoroughly searching his home, and finding no such gun, should have collectively had the horse sense to realize that this statement was made in a drunken stupor.

People with skills and kids, get the hell out this country while you still can.

Cops Beat Man & 7-Month Pregnant Wife then Deleted the Video, But it Survived on the Cloud

The Denver police department has been accused of using excessive force after a video, which they allegedly deleted, survived on the cloud and was turned into FOX 31.

The incident started as two officers approached David Nelson Flores, who was in his vehicle with his seven-and-a-half-months pregnant wife and their child, to shake him down after suspecting him of being in possession of a substance deemed illegal by the state.

Upon their approach, officers said they saw Flores put a white sweat sock in his mouth. Because the US is involved in an immoral war on drugs, this ‘sock in mouth’ move apparently gave the officers the right to yank Flores out of his car and proceed to pummel the man on the asphalt.

Cyber Command investment ensures hackers targeting U.S. face retribution

In the shadows of the Sony hacking incident and North Korea’s massive Internet outage, the Pentagon has quietly built a multibillion-dollar cyberwarfare capability and trained its commanders to integrate these weapons into their battlefield plans.

U.S. Cyber Command was officially stood up in 2010, based at Fort Meade in the Maryland suburbs of the nation’s capital, consolidating intelligence and cyberwarfare capabilities of the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines under one house. Soon, billions of dollars were being invested in the concept that cyberattackers targeting America should be prepared to sustain their own damage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Cyber Command will be no more effective at harming the attackers than the NSA is at preventing the attacks in the first place.

It’s official: IRS employees biased against conservatives

One IRS employee called a conservative group “icky” while another griped that they would probably “have to” approve a different group’s application for nonprofit status, according to the latest findings Tuesday by the House Oversight Committee.

In a new staff report released by Rep. Darrell Issa, the California Republican who is term-limited as chairman of the committee, investigators also found IRS officials had “repeatedly changed their stories” about what went on and who was responsible for targeting the conservative and tea party groups who applied for nonprofit status.

This Was One Of The Biggest Lies Ever Told

In 2006, Andrew Natsios, administrator of USAID, went on a publicity tour to assuage American fears that the impending war and its aftermath were perfectly reasonable expenditures for the American taxpayer. In this Nightline interview with Ted Koppel he brazenly makes the ludicrous case that the reconstruction of Iraq would cost only $1.7bn. Koppel is so incredulous, he returns to the subject three times, and each time Natsios gets more and more adamant. With the benefit of hindsight its clear now that not only was this a bold face lie, but one that any rational person could have seen through.

The NY Fed shipped approximately $40 billion in cash between 2003 and 2008. In just the first two years, the shipments included more than 300 million individual bills weighing a total of 363 tons.

Since then there have been audits, congressional hearing and investigations that can barely account for a small percentage of where that money actually ended up.

Ferguson Prosecutor Gives Free Pass To Witnesses Who Lied Before Grand Jury

The St. Louis prosecutor in charge of the Ferguson grand jury today acknowledged that witnesses “absolutely lied under oath” before the panel, but said that none of the perjurers--including the unmasked "Witness 40"--would face criminal charges.

During a KTRS radio interview, Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said that, “Early on I decided that anyone who claimed to have witnessed anything would be presented to the grand jury,” even if investigators questioned their truthfulness.

McCulloch (seen above left) said that he opted to present “anybody and everybody” to the grand jury, adding that it was the responsibility of panel members to judge the credibility of individual witnesses.

Referring to “Witness 40,” whom TSG identified this week as a 45-year-old St. Louis woman named Sandra McElroy, McCulloch said she “clearly wasn’t present” when Michael Brown was shot to death by Officer Darren Wilson.

Ferguson prosecutor Bob McCulloch admitted that he presented evidence he knew to be false to the grand jury considering charges against Darren Wilson. Obama’s commitment to trade is just another example of his indebtedness to Wall Street for massive campaign contributions. Having confirmed unequivocally, in a statement by the FBI and reiterated by President Obama, that “the North Korean government is responsible” for hacking Sony, it appears the YouTube-less ‘evidence’ the FBI provided is being questioned by the hacking-collective ‘Anonymous’ and former Lulzsec hacker Sabu. As The Daily Beast reports, the hackers blasted, the North Koreans “don’t have the technical capabilities,” and added “we all know the hacks didn’t come from North Korea, and “all of the evidence FBI cites would be trivial things to do if a hacker was trying to misdirect attention to DPRK.” Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, Guardians of Peace, the hacking group that’s so far claimed responsibility for wreaking havoc on Sony, posted a message online mocking the FBI’s investigation – a series of gyrating animated bodies shrieking, “You are an idiot!”

IRS seizes woman’s entire bank account because she deposited money ‘suspiciously’

How the CIA Launched the «Financial Pearl Harbor» Attacks on Russia and Venezuela

The net result of the CIA-inspired fracking operations, which the Saudis were warned not to pursue by petroleum engineers working for some foreign-based firms like Schlumberger, is that there will be an oil supply glut for the next 5 years. The glut will be followed by a reduction in Saudi oil production unless new oil fields are brought on line. There is now a major push by U.S. and Canadian oil companies to bring online the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to the United States to offset the expected sharp rise in oil prices in four to five years. But with Canada suffering financially from the drop in oil revenues, the Keystone XL project is also on financially shaky ground.

Hillsborough officer bullied into signing doctored statement, inquest hears

A senior South Yorkshire police officer bullied a constable to sign a doctored statement about the Hillsborough disaster, the new inquest into the deaths of 96 people at the football ground has heard.

PC Michael Walpole told the inquest that he feared his job would be made “a misery” if he did not sign the amended statement, in which several of his original comments had been deleted, because he had seen other officers hounded out of the police in similar circumstances.

Walpole said that at the time he believed it was “out of order” for his statement to have been doctored, and he initially refused to sign it. He was then required to go to South Yorkshire police headquarters at Snig Hill in Sheffield to meet a chief inspector, Alan Foster, with two other constables, Peter Smith and Maxwell Groome, who were also refusing to sign their changed statements.

Actor Randy Quaid Claims Government Starwhackers Target Celebrities

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife, Evgenia, are suing John Kerry and the State Department to recover passports that the government revoked three years ago.

The State Department said it takes U.S. passports for reasons including issuance of a felony arrest warrant, fraud, failure to pay child support or a criminal court order barring departure from the country.

Randy Quaid said the revocation involved an issue over “an insurance policy that we did not take out,” but declined to discuss it further.

“We can’t go anywhere,” Quaid said.

“Randy can’t take a film job,” said Evgenia Quaid. “He had to turn down the Cannes Film Festival last year. We can’t proceed with our life.”

William Binney: The NSA’s Ultimate Goal is Total Population Control

“At least 80% of fibre-optic cables globally go via the US,” Binney said. “This is no accident and allows the US to view all communication coming in. At least 80% of all audio calls, not just metadata, are recorded and stored in the US. The NSA lies about what it stores.”

“The ultimate goal of the NSA is total population control,” said Binney, who believes the government is fighting for a future where surveillance is ubiquitous and government intrusion unlimited.

NYC sued over violence against young inmates at notorious Rikers Island jail

Federal prosecutors sued New York City on Thursday, alleging that the city has not sufficiently moved to reform the city’s notorious Rikers Island jail, where “force is used against adolescents at an alarming rate,” according to the US Justice Department.

In August, the Justice Department released a graphic 79-page report, which found a “deep-seated culture of violence” aimed at young offenders held at Rikers Island. The report, the result of a two-and-a-half-year investigation on conditions at jail facilities between 2011 and 2013, detailed, among other damning findings, the wanton use of solitary confinement imposed on youth.

Obama signs Russia sanctions bill, no plans to use it for now

US President Barack Obama has signed a bill that will allow the White House to levy further economic sanctions on Russia over Ukraine, though the Administration has said it has no immediate plans to introduce them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obama claimed there were going to be no American boots on the ground in this third invasion of Iraq. Then there were going to be boots on the ground but they would not be in combat. Now they are in Combat. Obama will activate the new sanctions against Russia at the moment he thinks they will cause the most damage.

Thai police 'harassing' tourists on streets of Bangkok with searches, on-the-spot drug tests and heavy fines to be paid in cash

The Sydney Morning Herald has reported incidents of Australian tourists being pulled over at this busy heart of the city, and asked to show their passports.

Others have been subjected to random searches, being told to open their bags and take out their belongings – or even asked to submit a urine sample for drugs tests.

Disturbingly, there are reported cases of travellers being given on-the-spot fines that have to be paid immediately, and in cash.

Florida is the child abuse capital of America: Shocking map shows how 786 children have been killed while being monitored by welfare officers across the U.S. since 2008

Shocking new figures reveal Florida to be the child abuse capital of America - as 117 children were killed while being monitored by welfare officers in the state in just five years.

And a sickening map of abuse shows how at least 786 children, most under the age of four, died from violence or neglect from 2008 to 2013 in plain view of child protection authorities.

Many of them were beaten, starved or left alone to drown while agencies had good reason to know they were in danger.

Oil-Wise, Dollar-Foolish

Americans are all giddy about the drop in gas prices because they can’t see economic logic beyond the shadow of its immediate effect on their wallets. Little do they know that much of the nearly 1.2 quadrillion dollars of dodgy derivatives, the liability for which Citigroup masterfully managed to dump on American taxpayers and depositors recently, are riding on high oil prices, which have tanked and look as though they will remain that way for the foreseeable future. It’s almost certain that oil derivatives are soon to follow.

NSA Firefoxed: Mozilla team-up with Tor to improve internet privacy

The internet browser Mozilla is teaming up with Tor to give internet users greater security online. The new Polaris project is designed to combat internet censorship and make NSA like intrusion’s a thing of the past.

Edward Snowden’s revelations concerning the extent of the National Security Agency’s spying on the general public, hit computer and internet enthusiasts hard. A poll conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of the internet company Mozilla last month, found that three quarters of those surveyed feel that their personal information on the web is less secure than it was one year ago.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The comment in the article about the NSA not being able to find a TOR users identity is not entirely accurate. Recently it has come to light that if a user has the flash player installed on their computer, malicious code inside a flash object can detect the source IP of the request despite the onion network, which is why the current implementation of TOR recommends users not have the flash player installed. However I think that Mozilla and TOR will close that exploit (if they have not already done so).

As a general rule, everyone ought to be using anonymity tools and strong encryption, even if you do not really have anything to hide, to jam the NSA with added workload and confuse them as to who they should be looking at. For your local data protection or small-group communications, I strongly recommend investing the time to develop your own encryption methods using the code snippets in the NSA Challenge page as examples.

NSA and EFF to square off in court over internet surveillance

Bush Administration. That article also said that “Bush’s replacement,” President Barack Obama, “has reversed course” in this area.

In fact, the study concluded that some dose of paranoia is actually quite adaptive and can serve to keep us safe from danger. What is about to be presented in this article should make one paranoid for when one considers why governments in the West, particularly in the United States, spend billions of dollars to spy on our actions, words, Internet browsing habits, places visited and even our thoughts, we should all be looking under our beds.

And no, I am not making it up.

The bill is HB 121 and you can read all about it here. It was introduced about a month ago by a – you guessed it – “conservative” Republican. You can always count on “conservative” Republicans to bed down with law enforcement – and rape due process.

White House officials are openly expressing happiness with their siege/war tactics that they say are throwing Russia into an economic collapse and are, as a scholar defending the siege notes, “hurting the Russian public’s ability to buy food or heat homes”. This eagerness to starve and freeze children is particularly relevant given the recent publicity of the US’s tactics of starving and freezing innocent detainees as well as people claimed to be “suspects”.

U.S. Declares (Currency) War On Russia

U.S. economic terrorism (i.e. the One Bank’s economic terrorism) has hit a new extreme this week. This crime syndicate has launched what can be termed nothing less than an all-out effort to destroy the economy of Russia.

Its modus operandi is, once again, currency manipulation. What is the quickest/easiest way to destroy an economy? Drive the value of its currency as close to zero as possible. The effect of such a manipulated “devaluation” is a massive explosion in inflation. And the effect of that is to make all Russians much poorer.

The economic destruction caused by this economic terrorism affects Russians, and the Russian economy on a percentage-for-percentage basis. Each percentage lower that the banksters drive the ruble with their criminal manipulation makes Russians, and the Russian economy 1% poorer.

A Miami cop pulled someone over last month on a routine traffic stop, but the ensuing mess resulted in an internal investigation because it turns out the man this police officer pulled over was actually a higher-ranking officer in the same police department. Officer Marcel Jackson pulled over Lieutenant David Ramras and things got intense really quickly.

In a video captured on Jackson’s GoPro camera, you can see them fighting and Jackson forcing Ramras to the ground. Other officers nearby run up to break the two of them up. Ramras angrily shouts, “Do you know who the fuck I am?” He then tells Jackson who he is.

Government Prosecutors Fear Liberty and Jury Nullification

I thought you’d be interested to know that the government has asked the judge to limit the defense by not allowing any of Ross’ political or philosophical beliefs to be introduced to the jury as they might influence the jury in his favor. The prosecution goes so far as to say that they fear that exposing the jury to his political thought could invite a jury nullification verdict.

The government obviously doesn’t want this trial to become about internet freedom, the drug war, or liberty. But these crucial issues are on trial along with Ross. This trial is poised to be the most important of 2015 in the fight for freedom. Obviously the government thinks so. They are doing their best to smear Ross and obstruct his defense.

I’m attaching an excerpt (bolds and highlights mine) from the prosecution’s motions illustrating what I’m saying. If you want the original document, just let me know.

This outrage needs to become known, so please spread the word!
