WE’RE BEING BLINDED TO THE DANGER OF FACIAL RECOGNITION

BY MICHAEL MAHARREY
We’ve become increasingly comfortable with facial recognition technology. We use it to unlock our phones and to skip the security line at the airport. But the convenience of facial recognition is blinding us to its dangers.

Georgetown University School of Law privacy expert Clare Garvie put together a video that explains why you should be concerned about the growing use of facial recognition technology, even if you think you have “nothing to hide.”

According to Garvie, police databases now contain images of nearly half of all Americans. She argues that without some restrictions on facial recognition, we’re rapidly hurtling toward a Chinese-style surveillance state.

As Garvie puts it, Americans are basically in a perpetual police lineup.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know how much this future "Minority Report" world, courtesy of the government of the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, scares the stuffing out of you, but it sure as heck scares the stuffing out of me!!

OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE INVESTIGATING “IT’S OKAY TO BE WHITE FLIERS” AS POTENTIAL HATE CRIME

SOURCE: SUMMIT.NEWS

Police in Oklahoma City are investigating “It’s okay to be white” fliers that were posted at the Oklahoma City University School of Law as a potential hate crime.

Although authorities acknowledge that the fliers were “not believed to be a threat” and that posting them wasn’t a crime because no property was damaged, the individual responsible is under investigation anyway.

“Investigators are trying to determine his intent and whether the actions are a hate crime,” reports the Associated Press.

Law school Dean Jim Roth said the OCU is “intentional and relentless” in supporting diversity and the hatred and exclusion “will not be tolerated.”

Meanwhile in another incident, a sign that read “It’s OK to be white” was hung on a bridge over a highway in Massachusetts. A local ADL spokesman said the message “excludes people” and “targets people.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, folks, here's the deal for me; I look ... very European, because my ancestors' DNA was from a very small part of the pond, and as far as I know, that was from Denmark; Ireland; France; England; and Austria (and I have to shake my head at the timing of my Austrian ancestors' immigration, because Johann and Johanna made that pilgrimage, and became citizens, smack dab in the middle of the American civil war! Guys, PLEASE, what the HECK were you thinking?!?!?)

Now, that being said, does this make me better, smarter, more attractive, more deserving of anything, including privilege, than anyone else around me?!?

HELL, NO!! I'm just... Claire, period, end of discussion; and at 70, looking for a couple of choral conductors who "get me", and how and why I write the choral works I love to create, and just may program them one day; and even at this late age, I remember that wonderful line from the great American poet, Emily Dickinson, and that line is, "I dwell in possibility."

And THAT being said, I believe that we are all brothers and sisters on this journey through life, and for me, that means that we have a spiritual responsibility to lift each other up, in the best, most encouraging, and most loving way we can; my way is through the creation of music, and hoping that it touches hearts and minds, and fills people with love and hope and beauty, and that it might positively reflect on how they chose to live their lives, after hearing it.

There is a wonderful anecdote, in the French Christmas tradition, and the name of the tale is that of "the little juggler." And it paints this incredible picture of all the "beautiful people" lined up to pay homage to the Christ child, with incredible, luxurious gifts.

Well, in walks this little waif of a kid; no fancy clothes; no great gifts, and all of the monied people are looking down their collective noses at the boy, asking themselves and one another just what this child possibly believes he has, which could outshine what they have brought!?!

And yet, a way is made, so that the Infant Jesus can see what the child is doing, so the child takes several balls out of his pocket, and begins to juggle; and the Christ child, watching this, somehow knows that this is the greatest gift He could have possibly been given by this kid..... and smiles radiantly, an a way that says, "thank you"; the crowd is both stunned and elated, to have witnessed what had happened.

I "juggle notes and sounds" and sincerely hope that one day, they will also be met.... with smiles :-)

ISPS LIED TO CONGRESS TO SPREAD CONFUSION ABOUT ENCRYPTED DNS, MOZILLA SAYS

SOURCE: ARSTECHNICA.COM

Mozilla is urging Congress to reject the broadband industry's lobbying campaign against encrypted DNS in Firefox and Chrome.

The Internet providers' fight against this privacy feature raises questions about how they use broadband customers' Web-browsing data, Mozilla wrote in a letter sent today to the chairs and ranking members of three House of Representatives committees. Mozilla also said that Internet providers have been giving inaccurate information to lawmakers and urged Congress to "publicly probe current ISP data collection and use policies."

DNS over HTTPS helps keep eavesdroppers from seeing what DNS lookups your browser is making. This can make it more difficult for ISPs or other third parties to monitor what websites you visit.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Everyday working people deserve to have the tools for privacy and security in their systems; and the problem is, the more data the Feds collect, the less intelligible it becomes, until it becomes so overwhelming, as to become utterly useless.

The Incredible Shrinking Overton Window

The plutocrat-owned narrative managers of the political/media class work constantly to shrink the Overton window, the spectrum of debate that is considered socially acceptable. They do this by framing more and more debates in terms of how the oligarchic empire should be sustained and supported, steering them away from debates about whether that empire should be permitted to exist at all.

They get people debating whether there should be some moderate changes made or no meaningful changes at all, rather than the massive, sweeping changes we all know need to be made to the entire system.

Kushner gave Saudi Crown Prince Bin Salman permission to arrest Khashoggi: report

Troops went back in and the story is out.

US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner gave permission to his friend, Saudi Arabia’s de-facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) to arrest the dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi before he was brutally murdered last year, a whistleblower alleges.

Weekly British magazine The Spectator said investigators on the US House Intelligence Committee were aware of the whistleblower's claims and were planning to dig further into them.

According to The Spectator, the Turkish intelligence intercepted a call between Kushner and bin Salman, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan then used it to force Trump to withdraw his troops from northern Syria.

Islamic State Exacts Revenge On Turkey For Selling Out Al-Baghdadi

Submitted by Nauman Sadiq, an Islamabad-based attorney, columnist and geopolitical analyst focused on the politics of Af-Pak and Middle East regions, neocolonialism and petro-imperialism.

A car bomb exploded in northern Syria killing 13 and wounding 20. The blast on Saturday ripped through a crowded market in Tal Abyad, a town recently occupied by Turkish-backed militant proxies. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the blast targeted pro-Turkey fighters and civilians were also among the dead.

Even though the Turkish Defense Ministry promptly laid the finger of blame on Turkey’s arch-foe, the Kurdish YPG militia, without conducting an investigation, car bombing as a tactic for causing widespread fear is generally employed by jihadist groups and not by the Kurds.

Rebuilding Syria... Without Syria's Oil?

Compare US pillaging with Russia-Iran-Turkey’s active involvement in a political solution to normalize Syria..

What happened in Geneva this Wednesday, in terms of finally bringing peace to Syria, could not be more significant: the first session of the Syrian Constitutional Committee.

The Syrian Constitutional Committee sprang out of a resolution passed in January 2018 in Sochi, Russia, by a body called the Syrian National Dialogue Congress.

The 150-strong committee breaks down as 50 members of the Syrian opposition, 50 representing the government in Damascus and 50 representatives of civil society. Each group named 15 experts for the meetings in Geneva, held behind closed doors.

This development is a direct consequence of the laborious Astana process – articulated by Russia, Iran and Turkey. Essential initial input came from former UN Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura. Now UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen is working as a sort of mediator.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This development has been conveniently left out of nearly all accounts in the West of what is going on in Syria, and yet, is one of the most significant developments of the last year.

Pentagon Expands Permanent Africa Presence With $110M Drone Base In Niger

Signaling what will be a major uptick in US drone activity across western Africa, US African Command (AFRICOM) announced Friday its airbase Agadez, Niger has gone operational, not just flying surveillance drones as was originally expected, but also armed combat drones.

Flights from the base, called Air Base 201, began last week and the patrols are to aid US-Nigerien military patrols in rooting out regional ISIS militants and other Islamist factions which have been threatening the area. Specifically US officials say the armed drone program is badly needed due to prior ISIS ambushes on US-Nigerien troops.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oh, you mean the US backed, trained, and funded ISIS the US has been throwing about to create chaos from which only the US military can possibly save the population of that country affected by that same chaos?!?

Just doing a reality check here.

It's all about the resources, folks.

First, go in and either regime that country's government which is not to your liking, or scare them into giving permission for the US to establish military bases in that country, to "save them from the evil ISIS" (as has been done here); expropriate the resources to which the US has absolutely no moral right, then insure that those resources are only sold in US dollars.

Anyone who cannot see the pattern here, is just not flipping looking!!

Protesters vandalize Xinhua office, public property during night of violence

Hong Kong protesters have set fire to metro stations and vandalized buildings, including an office of China’s official news agency Xinhua, during a night of violent protests after Beijing vowed to tighten control over the restive city.

Police fired tear gas and water cannon Saturday as thousands of protesters defied authorities in another unsanctioned march.

Commercial districts on the main island turned into a battlefield as squads of black-clad protesters — many wearing face masks despite a recent ban on them — clashed for hours with riot police.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The timing on this could possibly be worse for China's President Xi; but I don't know how much. There was a secret meeting of China's government last week China's Top Political Body met in secret, and issued an ominous message to Hong Kong. The article goes on to state:

:Hong Kong has now been a thorn in the Chinese government’s side for more than four months.

Mass protests which began over a controversial China extradition law have grown into more violent demonstrations over fears around Beijing’s tightening grip on the important financial hub.

Until now, the Chinese government has been relatively restrained on the protests, stating their support for the Hong Kong government and their faith in local authorities to resolve the crisis.

But there have been hints of tougher action by Beijing if the demonstrations grew out of control or if they crossed any of the Communist Party’s “bottom lines.”

“Don’t ever misjudge the situation and mistake our restraint for weakness,” Yang Guang, spokesman for mainland China’s Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, said in August.

It is almost certain that the situation in Hong Kong was widely discussed behind closed doors in Beijing during the fourth plenum this week but very little of that appears in the final communique.

“Hong Kong and Macao must be governed in strict accordance with the Constitution and the Basic Law, and the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao should be safeguarded,” the statement said.

It then stated the need to “improve” the legal system and enforcement mechanism in Hong Kong and Macao.

That is likely to be a euphemism for enacting Hong Kong’s hugely controversial Article 23 national security law, according to Willy Lam, an adjunct professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and longtime analyst of Chinese politics."

US troops back at military bases in northeast Syria

US troops are reportedly back in military bases in northeastern Syria which they had previously evacuated ahead of Turkey's military action against Kurdish forces in the area.

Turkey's Anadolu Agency has reported that American forces arrived in the west of Syria’s northern province of Raqqa on Saturday to rebuild their military base.

A US military convoy, including a personnel carrier armored vehicle, a mine flail and a utility vehicle, arrived in Jazira base located west of Raqqa via Syria's northeastern province of Hasakah.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised by this move.

Netanyahu Accuses Hamas of Firing Rockets at Israel From Gaza

On Friday, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that a total of 10 rockets had been fired from Gaza, including eight projectiles that had been intercepted by the Iron Dome air defence system.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Hamas was responsible for all rocket attacks against Israel from Gaza.

“We are in a very sensitive security period, that is explosive in several spheres in the east, north, and south,” Netanyahu said.
“Immediately after the rocket fire on the Gaza envelope, I convened a top level security meeting in the military headquarters in Tel Aviv,” he stressed.

The Israeli military reported that the rockets were fired late on Friday. Eight of them were intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome air defence system. One of the rockets hit a residential building in southern Israel, damaging it.

Tensions near the Gaza Strip border heightened on Friday amid the 81st anti-Israeli protest, dubbed the Great March of Return.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One can only wonder at what targets the IDF will hit in Gaza, or elsewhere, when it uncorks the next time; I am having a sense, however, that the next time may well be very soon; the crisis in Lebanon, with Al-Harari's resignation last Tuesday, may,, for Tel Aviv's taste, be just... too good NOT to attempt some kind of intense disturbance there.

The Middle East's New Post-Regime-Change Future

Authored by Matthew Ehret via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

With the transformation of the rules of the “Great Game” in the Middle East emerging out of President Trump’s recent Syrian surprise pullout and Putin’s brilliant manoeuvres since 2015, a sweeping set of development/reconstruction programs led by China now have a chance to become hegemonic across the formerly hopeless, terrorist-infested region.

The fact that the Arab states of the Middle East were targeted for destruction by western geopoliticians over the last 40 years is not un-connected to the region’s historic role as “cross-roads of civilizations” which were once the bridge between East and West along the ancient Silk Road (c. 250 BC). Today’s New Silk Road has brought 150 countries into a multipolar model of cooperation and civilization-building which necessitates a stabilized Middle East in order to function.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika makes war to attempt to achieve what it wants, geopolitically; China makes deals, to achieve what it wants, geopolitically; so what's wrong with this picture?!?

Bloody everything

Chaos in Brooklyn as 1,000 anti-cop protesters storm subway stations yelling after a spate of violent arrests and the city's vow to add even MORE officers

Nearly a thousand protesters took to the streets of Brooklyn to demonstrate against the NYPD after a spate of violent arrests on the subway and over its plans to put more officers on the beat to catch anyone who skips paying the fare.

The protesters started gathering in Downtown Brooklyn near Barclays Center at about 7pm Friday, with their signs reflecting the dual nature of the march.

While flashier banners bore slogans such as 'Don't let these pigs touch us,' 'F**k the police,' 'Punch that cop' and 'NYPD out of MTA,' other signs read 'Free transit,' 'Poverty is not a crime' and 'Our subways need more $ for elevators, not for cops.'

Their grievances stem from two issues. One, alleged police brutality against New Yorkers including a group of teenagers who officers were seen fighting with in a recent viral video.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Other than in New York tabloids, and the Daily Mail, I didn't see a word about this, in the US press; I have to wonder why?!?

I can venture a couple of guesses.

First, it demonstrates an absolute unraveling of the thread of civility, in US society; and I have to tell you; I am very grateful that Mike and I are no longer in, or reasonably near, a really major city right now, because that is where, unfortunately, I think, you may find demonstrations like this spreading.

And a lot of our kids may well die, because of having participated in such demonstrations.

After the Rodney King riots in LA, Post Rodney King Police Acquitted in Trial for Brutality, LA sees massive riots two very popular actors, Edward James Olmos, and Arsenio Hall, raced from soundstage to soundstage at the various TV stations, telling particularly the young people to go home, and stay there; these gentlemen will always be my heroes for trying to ratchet down the genuine, and legitimate, anger and upset during these times.

But the Guardian goes on to state very clearly what the triggers here were: "From the aerial shots of Los Angeles provided by news helicopters, the city looks like a war zone. The flames devouring sections of this sprawling southern California metropolis were started by arsonists and fuelled by righteous anger over the not guilty verdict in the Rodney King police brutality case.

The casualty figures are also those of a war zone. Murderous mobs howling "No justice, no peace!" have left more than 10 people dead and 140 wounded in less than 24 hours. As I write the entire south central section of Los Angeles is under a state of emergency as 2,000 national guardsmen armed with military weaponry converge on the area.

To those familiar with police-community relations in Los Angeles all of this was predictable. It is the inevitable explosion that will result when unanswered cases are allowed to fester until they become social dynamite.

For years now there has been a steady stream of complaints against the Los Angeles police department and its chief, Daryll Gates, alleging a policy of excessive use of force when arresting criminal suspects. These complaints generally came to nothing when brought before a police review board dominated by officials from the police hierarchy.

Repeated calls for an expanded review board that would include civilians have gone unheeded. Most complainants in a police brutality case have not been able to provide sufficient evidence to support criminal charges against officers."

I would like to hope that both religious, police, and civil leadership, will work together to cobble out some understanding with these Brooklyn youth; if not, we may be looking at a wave of unrest here at home, that may eclipse anything we have seen so far in other countries in a very unprecedented way.

Keystone Pipeline Does as Experts Predicted, Spills 383,000 Gallons of Oil in North Dakota

Yesterday, the Keystone pipeline leaked an estimated 383,000 gallons (9,120 barrels) of oil into wetlands in North Dakota. The leak is already the eighth-largest pipeline oil spill of the last decade. The tar sands oil transported through the Keystone pipeline is particularly hard to clean up because, unlike crude oil, it sinks in water.

Keystone operator TC Energy’s (formerly TransCanada) alarming spill and safety record has come under scrutiny as it attempts to build the controversial and much larger Keystone XL pipeline through the midwestern United States and Indigenous treaty lands.

In response, Greenpeace USA Senior Research Specialist Tim Donaghy said:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Wow! I didn't know that the numbers here were so staggering; but in terms of donations to state, and national candidates, oil companies have them.... how can I say this delicately... by a VERY sensitive part of the human anatomy, not to mention their campaign wallets.

And let's remember the very disturbing legislation which has been passed in a number of states, as noted by the following article from theguardian.com:

Wave of new laws aim to stifle anti-pipeline protests, activists say.

Our indigenous First Peoples tried to tell us, from the get-go, that Keystone Pipeline would create massive problems, as have other pipeline projects, due to cavalier, as-cheap-as-possible, adherence to safety standards; this accident has absolutely proven them right.

No Ceasefire/Ceasefire in Northern Syria. The Pentagon Will Use Overwhelming Force to Maintain US Control over Syrian Oil

rom one or more illegally established airbases in Syria, as well as other other regional ones, Pentagon warplanes, attack helicopters, and drones continue terror-bombing Syrian sites at the discretion of its commanders.

US troops still occupy large parts of northern and southern Syrian territory indefinitely, including oil producing areas — looting them for private and CIA profiteering, as well as wanting Damascus denied revenues from its own resources. That’s what grand theft is all about.

All of the above are war crimes as defined under the UN Charter and other international law. The US and its imperial partners remain unaccountable for crimes of war and against humanity in all their war theaters.

The same goes for US economic terrorism against Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, Cuba, and other countries — high crimes gone unpunished.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are moments when I absolutely do not recognise the country of my birth; it appears that every ethical, reasonable, and moral qualities which made the US a good place to live, and a good neighbor to have, internationally, have been abandoned by this Government, and for quite some time now.

The American people are no longer in any kind of even symbolic control of their government; their government has morphed into some kind of a hydra-headed monster, feeding the unending, death-and bearing appetites of its military industrial complex, while telling what is left of Middle Class America, that they must do with less, so the government can have more.

Laughter Over the Left Shoulder at Russia’s TragedyThe West is trying to undermine Russia’s historic achievements by demeaning and vilifying its people, culture, religion, and way of life. Why?

But the real irritant is that Russia will not bow down to Western dictates. The very fact that Western sanctions have not crippled and destroyed Russia makes Western leaders irate. In a surprising, though understandable way, the sanctions have helped the Russian home-grown production of goods to flourish. After all, Russia must make its own decisions for the survival of its people. It is the West’s growing irrelevance to Russia, which it itself caused, that enrages its governments.

It Isn’t Just the Rohingya. Myanmar Is Now Attacking Buddhists in Rakhine State, Too.This latest battle could be the army’s undoing.

MRAUK U, Myanmar—Here in the town of Mrauk U, in Myanmar’s troubled Rakhine state, there has been little to celebrate during this October’s Thadingyut, the second-most important annual festival of the Buddhist calendar. Normally, the auspicious full moon would be hailed with a floating armada of delicate candlelit paper lanterns and song, theater, and dance.

Yet this year, there are no celebrations.

Instead, at 9 p.m. sharp, a curfew falls as soldiers from the Myanmar Army, known as the Tatmadaw, emerge from their posts to pull barbed wire and steel barricades across roads. Shops and businesses shutter, the streets empty and lights flickering out.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With the persecution of Rohingya Muslims by their militant Buddhist overlords, Myanmar has become one hell of a mess, and one which, apparently, Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Aung San Suu Kyi, is impotent to stop.

But Buddhists militarily clashing with their brother and sister Buddhists?!? One has to wonder if one group is planning a coup, and "regime change" for this country.

I never thought, in my life, that I would have to say, "Watch out for the Buddhists!" unfortunately, these acts of the existing Myanmar government, may it impossible NOT to mention this.

Israeli guards fire tear gas into prisoner’s hospital room

An Israeli prison guard deployed to watch a hospitalized Palestinian prisoner reportedly fired tear gas into the intensive care unit room where the man was convalescing after treatment for injuries sustained during interrogation.

The Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported that an Israel Prison Service guard “accidentally” emitted tear gas in Samer Arbeed’s room at the Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem earlier this month, requiring doctors to intervene.

Maariv said the incident was never reported to the prison service.

Arbeed was hospitalized on 27 September following his interrogation by Israel’s domestic intelligence agency, the Shin Bet.

But being hospitalized has not stopped his ordeal and Israeli prison authorities have continued to question Arbeed even while in the ICU.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So torturing prisoners desperately attempting to recover from injuries the IDF has already caused by previous torture, is now standard practice in Israeli jails?!?

People who do this, and get pleasure from inflicting this kind of pain, cannot possibly be humans; and Mengele would be so proud of the louthead who did this!!!

And incidents like this, of which, I am sure there are many, simply create an even stronger argument for BDS to be applied to all Israeli-made goods, internationally; most Israelis speak Hebrew, but they are all bi-lingual when it comes to income, or the lack of it.

As protests rock Baghdad and Beirut, Iran digs in

As governments in Iraq and Lebanon stagger and stumble under huge waves of popular protest, powerful factions loyal to Iran are pushing to quash political upheaval which challenges Tehran’s entrenched influence in both countries.

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri has resigned and the government of Iraq’s Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi has been pushed to the brink of collapse.

Both governments have enjoyed backing from the West. But they have also relied on the support of political parties affiliated with powerful Iran-backed Shi’ite armed groups, keeping allies of Tehran in key posts.

That reflects the relentless rise of Iranian influence among Shi’ite communities across the Middle East, since Tehran formed the militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon in 1982 and after Saddam Hussein was toppled in Iraq in 2003.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to legitimately ask; to what extent is the US involved with this unrest, leading, it is hoped by the anti-Iran forces, to destabilization in Iraq; Lebanon; and ultimately, Tehran?!?

RUSSIA CLAIMS U.S. WILL SMUGGLE $30 MILLION OF OIL OUT OF SYRIA EVERY MONTH UNDER TRUMP'S 'CRIMINAL' PLAN

Russia's foreign ministry spokesperson has accused the U.S. of "criminal activity" with regards to President Donald Trump's plan to deploy troops to guard oil fields in eastern Syria.

Maria Zakharova said Friday that the Trump administration was engaging in illegal smuggling, and estimated Washington stands to make tens of millions of dollars every month from the oil extracted in the region.

According to state news agency Tass, Zakharova said the U.S. was "bypassing its own sanctions" to take the oil—"worth over $30 million per month"—from Syria. She also suggested the U.S. forces deployed "are not going to leave these areas in the near future."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly think that the Russian estimate, may be just a little too conservative.

But the on-going question, and one which I hope is keeping at least a few of our people in power in Foggy Bottom is, just how long is Russia going to allow this to continue, before it uncorks with its own military response to kick the US out of Syria?!?

We have invaded a sovereign country, into which we were not invited; funded and trained its enemy jihadists toward the goal of regime change in Damascus, and now... we're processing its oil?!?

What is wrong with this picture?!?

BLOODY EVERYTHING!!

The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestinian Christians That Nobody Is Talking About

Palestine’s Christian population is dwindling at an alarming rate. The world’s most ancient Christian community is moving elsewhere. And the reason for this is Israel.

Christian leaders from Palestine and South Africa sounded the alarm at a conference in Johannesburg on October 15. Their gathering was titled: "The Holy Land: A Palestinian Christian Perspective".

One major issue that highlighted itself at the meetings is the rapidly declining number of Palestinian Christians in Palestine.

Increasingly beleaguered, Palestinian Christians in Bethlehem have been driven out from their historic city in large numbers. According to the city’s mayor, Vera Baboun, as of 2016, the Christian population of Bethlehem has dropped to 12 percent, merely 11,000 people.

The most optimistic estimates place the overall number of Palestinian Christians in the whole of Occupied Palestine at less than two percent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To those Evangelical Christians who support Israel so intensely, they had better take a look at these numbers, and figure out for themselves if this country, suppressing both Christian and Muslim Palestinians, is really worth the aggravation.

I don't know what the Hebrew translation of "useful idiots" may be, but I can nearly bet you, that this phrase comes up very frequently, in conversations in the Bowels of Power in Tel Aviv, and if Evangelical, Israel-supporting Christians really knew what most Israelis think about them, it would truly break their hearts.

US Drone Base in Niger Now Operational, Armed Flights Being Carried Out

AFRICOM says flights started this week, refuses to say which sort of drones are being used.

US African Command (AFRICOM) announced on Friday that the controversial Nigerien Air Base 201, meant to house US surveillance and combat drones, is now open and operational, and flights began earlier this week.

After an ambush by ISIS against a joint US-Nigerien military patrol, the US began pushing Niger for permission to fly not just surveillance drones, but also armed drones. In the panic after the attack, they got permission, starting the long road to constructing this large base.

And while AFRICOM is championing this as expanding US interests in the region, they are refusing to provide any indication what sort of US drones will be based out of the site, saying there are “security concerns” about that.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You may well wonder, what the hell is the US military doing in Niger?!?

Pretty much the same thing it does other places, and most likely for the following reasons: Niger: natural resources

The article goes on to say:

"Niger is a nation on the western part of the African continent, and it spans an area of about 490,000 square miles, making it West Africa’s largest country. The Sahara Desert covers more than 80% of the country, and the country’s population stands at 21 million people. Despite the country's vast natural resources, it is considered a developing nation. In 2018, its GDP was ranked as the 136th highest in the world at $9.869 billion. Niger's GDP per capita, on the other hand, was ranked as the 179th highest at $510. Some of Niger's most important natural resources include arable land, oil, and forests among others."

One has to wonder, with so much formerly arable US farming land having gone gone "mammary glands vertical" due to punishing floods, and tariffs which have destroyed many of America's farmers, if some kind of food production in Niger is being contemplated by the US, in light of the fact that we are headed into one brutal winter, and soon may not be able to feed our own citizens adequately?!?

But this follows the usual pattern to a T;

Either regime change a country, or get a government stark raving, crazily convinced that some foreign power ( in this case, ISIS - the US trained and funded operatives here) is trying to upstage it and regime change it, so that government gives the US military "carte blanche" to do what it will.

Then, expropriate those resources, to which the US government has no moral right, and sell them for only US dollars.

Put down those who protest against this arrangement, even thoroughly peacefully, "with extreme prejudice", and "pacify them".

Wash; rinse; repeat. Is it not obvious to you what is going on here?!?

The Lynching of the Charismatic Geek

The original sin of Julian Assange was the same as that of Galileo Galilei. Galileo sinned by revealing to the people things the elite already knew or at least surmised, but wished to keep secret from the masses, in order not to shake the people’s faith in the official truth. Assange did the same thing with the formation of WikiLeaks The official version of reality was challenged. All lies should be exposed. By far the most sensitive targets of his wide-ranging reality revelations were the lies, the hypocrisy, the inhuman brutality of the United States in its wars of global hegemony. To Assange, these things were simply wrong.

At first, WikiLeaks attracted a great deal of popular attention and even acclaim. Julian Assange became famous. He was a geek, but he didn’t look like a geek. Tall, handsome, striking with his nearly white hair, Julian was something strange: a charismatic geek.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am very concerned that when the man gets back to the US for his "Show Trial/Star Chamber Treatment, that he will die very soon after that from one of a plethora of US-weaponized diseases, as have, most probably, other truth tellers to society.

Assad Calls Trump "Best US President" Ever For "Transparency" Of Real US Motives

Assad's commentary on the latest White House policy to "secure the oil" in Syria, for which US troops have already been redeployed to some of the largest oil fields in the Deir Ezzor region, was the biggest pressing question. The Syrian president's response was unexpected and is now driving headlines, given what he said directly about Trump, calling him the "best American president" ever – because he’s the "most transparent."

“When it comes to Trump you may ask me a question and I’ll give you an answer which might seem strange. I tell you he’s the best American president,” Assad said, according to a translation provided by NBC.

“All American presidents commit crimes and end up taking the Nobel Prize and appear as a defender of human rights and the ‘unique’ and ‘brilliant’ American or Western principles. But all they are is a group of criminals who only represent the interests of the American lobbies of large corporations in weapons, oil and others,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Al Assad gets how power politics get played in this country better, unfortunately, than many of its citizens do.

Antifa Terrorists Stalk Journalist Andy Ngo at His Home on Halloween – Ringing his Doorbell and Banging on Windows in Andy Ngo Masks

In what looked like a scene from The Purge, six members of Antifa went to the Portland home of journalist Andy Ngo — while wearing paper masks of his face.
Unsettling footage of the hooded, gloved, and masked harassers was captured by Ngo’s security camera.

Ngo was violently attacked and robbed by Antifa while attempting to cover a protest in June. He was hospitalized with a cerebral hemorrhage.

I was beaten on the head & robbed on 29 June. Antifa then continued to hurl "milkshakes" at my bleeding face. I was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage. There still hasn't been a single arrest by @PortlandPolice. Help me seek justice; join my legal fund: https://publiuslex.com/pf/justice-for-andy-ngo/

Since then, far-leftists have been sending him death threats and doxing him and his family.

Now, they are going to his home, according to the security footage that Ngo posted online.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder; have Portland police been ordered to "stand down" when it comes to protecting this reporter, who someone in their camp nearly killed this last June?!?

There are moments when I no longer recognize the country in which I was born; and folks, this is sure as hell one of those moments.

Trump Freezes Lebanon Military Aid After Israel Voiced Concerns

Amid recent statements by both Iranian and Hezbollah leaders accusing the United States of hijacking the massive anti-corruption protests which have gridlocked Lebanon for over the past two weeks, the White House has made the dramatic and unexpected move of freezing US military aid to the Lebanese Army.

The money, part of a military aid package totaling $105 million, had been approved by Congress and the State Department, and requested by the Pentagon. Interestingly, proponents of the package argued that it would allow the Lebanese Army to grow more independent, making it less cooperative with Hezbollah.

According to Reuters the aid was frozen two days following Tuesday's resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, who in a parting speech admitted he'd "reached a dead end" amid the protests which have reportedly involved one million people, or up to 25% of Lebanon's total population, and further called on "all Lebanese to protect civil peace".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ultimately, it was Winston Churchill who originally made the statement, "Never let a good crisis go to waste", echoed many years later by Rahm Emanuel, during the Clinton years.

The crisis, has been the corruption by Lebanon's government, leading to the resignation of Al-Hariri, last Tuesday.

Israel's government, and military, have collectively been itching for a reason to invade, and do a decap strike against Hezbollah, and Beirut simultaneously, creating a "regime change" to their liking.

All that is needed now, is some kind of "justification" to make this happen, and I would suggest that the timing may well be sooner rather than later; after all, the Litani River is only 5 kilometers away from the Israeli border, and the Israelis have had their eye on this resource for quite some time now.

With the current Lebanese government now in very visible meltdown from this resignation, Tel Aviv may well believe that they have their chance now to invade, and this is most probably the reason the military aid from the US was to the Lebanese military was gutted.

THE SURGE: U.S. DOJ AND TRUMP TO FURTHER MILITARIZE POLICE -- $600 BILLION IN EQUIPMENT

BY AARON KESEL
U.S. President Donald Trump is using his executive order signed in 2017 to expand the militarized police forces across the nation in preparation to launch a sweeping crackdown on crime that Trump referenced was “the surge” according to a press event at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition.

“In the coming weeks, Attorney General Barr will announce a new crackdown on violent crime — which I think is so important — targeting gangs and drug traffickers in high crime cities and dangerous rural areas,” Trump said during the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Chicago. “Let’s call it the surge,” the White House press release reads.

The President didn’t provide any details on the plan but he stated that the actions would be “very dramatic.”

Trump further expressed his administration’s “achievements” like putting military equipment into the hands of U.S. police officers, as Activist Post reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word, please; there are many cops who do their jobs excellently well; many of us have police who are in our own families, either on active duty, or retired.

And the police, in these various scenarios, are not the bad guys; it is how drug laws are written in this country which is creating problems; and those who cannot learn from history are, unfortunately, doomed to repeat it.

I think that most of us, with some degree of mental clarity, can agree that what the passage of Prohibition did in this country, by making alcohol illegal, was to create a criminal class and led to the organisational development of early gangs which controlled it, and defended their turf, or territory, to the death, and forced many municipalities to surrender control of many American streets to the most vicious, "money junkies" one could possibly imagine.

Is this having a very "contemporary ring" to it?!? Because, Mr. President, it should.

I don't know if anyone in your "Inner Circle has" mentioned the example of Portugal, and how it got drug use down, particularly among impressionable young people. This article comes to us from theguardian.com, from 2017:

Portugal's radical drug policy is working; why hasn't the world copied it?

Close to the conclusion of this article, is the following, thoughtful paragraph:

"Massive international cultural shifts in thinking about drugs and addiction are needed to make way for decriminalisation and legalisation globally. In the US, the White House has remained reluctant to address what drug policy reform advocates have termed an “addiction to punishment”.

But if conservative, isolationist, Catholic Portugal could transform into a country where same-sex marriage and abortion are legal, and where drug use is decriminalised, a broader shift in attitudes seems possible elsewhere. But, as the harm-reduction adage goes: one has to want the change in order to make it."

If this country would take the money out of this trade, by decriminalizing drugs, and by encouraging people to get social/psychological care to help them get off the drugs, that would be an immense start.

But of course, that would wreak financial havoc from all those who profit from the sale of these drugs, and I am not just talking about the cartel bigwigs; you have to imagine that some of this money may well go to political candidates hell-bent on keeping drugs illegal, and therefore, more profitable to those very cartels.

We also have to include those executives at major banks who sign off on laundering drug money; and then, there are those very financially lucrative private prisons which run what can only be described as state-sponsored slave labor camps for those who get caught selling or using, where the levels of recidivism is horrific.

Mr. President, we, as Americans, are better, brighter, and more imaginative than to be sticking with drug policies which are engineered to fail, ultimately for private profit; you have a background as a business person, and you - of all people - should understand this.

So please, President Trump, let us continue to support this Country's police departments, by giving them laws and policies which they, and the citizens they protect and serve, can live with; and that, sir, could become one of your most sterling accomplishments to date, as this country's President.

IN KUWAIT, SLAVES ARE BOUGHT AND SOLD ON INSTAGRAM

“You can wake her up at 5AM, she won't complain.”

Slavery is one of many industries made more efficient by Silicon Valley, and specifically, Facebook-owned Instagram.

A new BBC investigation reveals the widespread online sale of human beings in the mideast for domestic labor. The buyers and sellers use services from Instagram, Facebook, Apple, and Google to facilitate slavery transactions.

Housekeepers and nannies are purchased and sold as slaves through Instagram, promoted using hashtags, and promoted on other apps in Google Play and Apple's App Store.

These workers live their lives in Kuwait mostly behind closed doors, invisible and with no rights to protest abuse by their employer/enslavers.

Excerpt:

After being alerted to the issue, Facebook said it had banned one of the hashtags involved.

Google and Apple said they were working with app developers to prevent illegal activity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The moral degeneracy of those who have signed off on these practices, in spite of their alleged "virtue signalling" by deplatforming conservative voices, it is painfully apparent, from this BBC report, that Facebook/Apple/Instagram/Google still have zero problems facilitating slavery, if the price for such services is right.

And do not believe for one second, that the owners of these tech giants "really don't know what is going on here": Sergei Bryn; Tim Cook; Mark Zuckerberg, you all have some explaining to do, particularly to your shareholders, and it has to start with deplatforming those sites which enable slavery in Kuwait in the 21st century, and right the hell now!!

THE MISSING PIECES OF AL-BAGHDADI’S EXECUTION PUZZLE

Here, let me try to dispel a myth peddled by the corporate media and foreign policy think tanks that the Islamic State originated from al-Qaeda in Iraq. Many biased political commentators of the mainstream media deliberately try to muddle the reality in order to link the emergence of the Islamic State to the ill-conceived invasion of Iraq in 2003 by the Republican Bush administration.

Their motive behind this chicanery is to absolve the Obama administration’s policy of nurturing the Syrian opposition against the Syrian government since the beginning of Syria’s proxy war in 2011 until June 2014, when the Islamic State overran Mosul in Iraq and the Obama administration made a volte-face on its previous “regime change” policy of providing indiscriminate support to Syrian militants and declared a war against a faction of Syrian rebel groups, the Islamic State.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Whatever President Obama did, with regard to the Middle East, he generally did "on the sly"; this article places him at the very epicenter of attempts to take Syria's President Al Assad down with US trained, funded, and armed jihadists.

Why Women Destroy Nations/Civilizations and other uncomfortable truths

Women do not on an instinctual level care very much about her tribe nation or civilization. It's in their nature not to. Women are biological creatures like all others and they seek to maximize their chances of having viable offspring. This half century long experiment of women's liberation and political enfranchisement has ended in disaster for the West. And the damage done to the West may be irreparable. And the only solution would be a return to a more patriarchal society and this seems highly unlikely. I want you to hold on to this key thought as the meaning will become clear as this video progresses.

HOW CONTROLLING SYRIA’S OIL SERVES WASHINGTON’S STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES?

SOURCE: NAUMAN SADIQ, BLACKLISTED NEWS

Although Donald Trump claimed credit for expropriating Syria’s oil wealth, it bears mentioning that “scorched earth” policy is not a business strategy, it is the institutional logic of the deep state. President Trump is known to be a businessman and at least ostensibly follows a non-interventionist ideology; being a novice in the craft of international diplomacy, however, he has time and again been misled by the Pentagon and Washington’s national security establishment.

GHISLAINE MAXWELL WAS A GUEST AT JEFF BEZOS’S SECRET BOOK RETREAT

SOURCE: VICE
Every fall, the elite of the literary world and Hollywood convene at a highly secretive writer's retreat hosted by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, and no one talks about it.

Not every Campfire attendee is a household name: Tech entrepreneurs and industry power brokers are also invited to rub shoulders with celebrities.

Now, Motherboard has learned that one of Campfire 2018's attendees was Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite who is alleged to have been instrumental in grooming young women into convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's sex-trafficking ring. Reporting on Maxwell’s alleged role, via victim statements and court records, goes back to 2011.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me unsurprised by these revelations; more than a few people at this level of wealth are generally amoral monsters, who contribute great amounts of money to various charities as this is their"virtue signaling" to the rest of society.

FIVE YEARS ON, SAUDI ATTACKS ON YEMEN'S FARMERS ARE PUSHING THE WHOLE COUNTRY INTO FAMINE

SOURCE: MINT PRESS

HODEIDA, YEMEN — The country of Yemen, known in the medieval period as “Green Yemen,” is one of the most extensively terraced areas of the world. There, Yemeni farmers transformed rugged mountain slopes into terraces and built dams like the Great Marib, a structure whose history spans long enough that it was mentioned in the Quran. During the medieval period, Yemen had one of the widest ranges of agricultural crops in all of the Middle East.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to politely remind Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, that a collective punishment of a people, by denying them food and causing them to starve and die, is a war crime.

And yes, I do understand that America's Merchant of Death in Chief, President Trump, has been aiding and abetting your cause militarily in Yemen, making my government complicit in war crimes as well, the moral rightness of so doing utterly never occuring to the man, because "it makes money" for the US's military/industrial complex, and of course, that makes it right, in Trump's eyes.

And sir, I really don't know what goes on in that royal head of yours, but there is one thing of which I am absolutely, thoroughly convinced; in spite of your billions, history will not remember you or your minions kindly at all.

In fact, they will have a name for you, and this is how you will be remembered; The Butcher of Yemen.

Not quite what you had imagined, is it, as your "legacy"?!? Then stop killing, poisoning, and sickening the Yemeni people!!

Anyone with just two brain cells to rub together, understands that the only way out of this mess, initiated by your government almost 5 years ago, is through intelligent, hard-won, and ethical negotiations with the Houthi rebels; God knows, you have tried everything else, and the military conflict still comes to a draw, and we have seen how capable the Houthis have become at effectively fighting back, and hitting Saudi targets.

IMPEACHMENT THEATER

SOURCE: MOON OF ALABAMA
Ukrainegate is the new Russiagate. The 'whistleblower complain' is the new 'dirty dossier'. The 'former' MI6 spy Christopher Steele wrote the dossier. The current CIA spy Eric Ciaramella wrote the 'complain':

Federal documents reveal that the 33-year-old Ciaramella, a registered Democrat held over from the Obama White House, previously worked with former Vice President Joe Biden and former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of Trump who helped initiate the Russia “collusion” investigation of the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.
Further, Ciaramella (pronounced char-a-MEL-ah) left his National Security Council posting in the White House’s West Wing in mid-2017 amid concerns about negative leaks to the media. He has since returned to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

“He was accused of working against Trump and leaking against Trump,” said a former NSC official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If this whole thing does not horrifically reek of "set-up", I do not know what will.

Pig Plague Starts Rippling Through American Meat Markets

U.S. meat markets had so far been shielded from the effects of a deadly pig disease wiping out Asian herds. That’s starting to change.

As pork supplies plummet in China, the world’s top consumer is desperate for meat and is ramping up imports. As a result, it’s becoming harder to set longer-term protein contracts amid concerns over market volatility and changing trade flows, according to Jayson Penn, chief executive officer of Pilgrim’s Pride Corp., the No. 2 U.S. chicken producer.

“The contracting season is moving somewhat slower this year” for chicken, Penn said on a conference call with analysts following the release of third-quarter earnings. While major fast food restaurant chains are looking for beef contracts, “there are not many sellers willing to forward price,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to politely suggest, that if our readers/listeners do not currently have a freezer, you might want to think about getting one right now, possibly splitting the cost with a friend or family member.

Because of illnesses, and non-planting in those states ravaged by rain and/or fires, food prices next year, will be very intense; the time to plan for this contingency, is right the heck now. I would almost be willing to bet this will be a really saving grace for people as spring comes up in 2020.

Trump Slides an American Foot in the Door in Syria: In a shocking reversal in Syria, President Trump has ordered the US military to occupy the oil field at Deir Ez Zor, in eastern Syria.

The US occupation of the oil production facility at Deir Ez Zor is strategic for the US, and EU foreign policy on Syria, which depends on sanctions to keep the Syrian civilians and government from importing any necessary supplies to repair and re-build Syria, now that the war is over. Syrians are prevented from importing oil due to the sanctions, and without oil, the country cannot re-build. If the Syrian oil production facilities were to be in the hands of the legal owners, the Syrian Ministry of Oil, then repairs could be carried out and Syria would no longer need to import oil, and they could go back to being energy sufficient, as they were before 2011.

Russian Defense Ministry, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov spoke about satellite images in Syria which show the extent of past US involvement in the oil smuggling business, which was conducted with the Kurds using a US company “Sadcab”, and the profits were funneled through US private military contractors.

Israeli Soldier Gets Slap on the Wrist for Murder of Unarmed Child

A video of the incident was uploaded to Twitter. The video shows 15-year-old Othman Helles barely get his two feet on the fence before he is shot dead. Helles is clearly unarmed, and cannot be taken as a serious threat to a soldier with a rifle and full body armor.

Since these protests began, children, paramedics, journalists, and disabled people have been killed by Israeli forces. The worst the protesters can do is hurl rocks across the fence or send burning kites, hardly a threat to the Israeli soldiers.

This conviction could just be a sorry attempt to appease the UN and other critics of the way the IDF has handled these protests. Since the first day of the Great March of Return, the UN has called for investigations into the massacres.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why the BDF movement has to be uplifted immediately; there is no violence here, and simply a demonstration to Tel Aviv that as long as these assassinations still happen, their economic system will be as starved as much as humanly possible.

More than 100,000 people killed in Yemen war, says new report

More than 100,000 people have died as a result of the war in Yemen, according to an explosive new report by an American NGO.

Based on data collected from a variety of sources, including the United Nations, the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data project (ACLED) said the death toll from the four-year-long war was considerably higher than most previous estimates.

Out of the over 100,000 people estimated to have been killed since a Saudi-led coalition intervened in Yemen's war in 2015 against the Houthi movement, at least 12,000 civilians were killed in direct attacks, the ACLED said.

Already, 2019 has so far been the second deadliest year of the conflict, with more than 20,000 deaths reported. By 2020, ACLED estimated that 102,000 will have been killed as a direct result of violence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of course, zero mention here about the US government aiding and abetting Saudi war crimes in Yemen; people may just start thinking "double ungood thoughts" about their government gone rogue.

Hezbollah Fires Anti-Aircraft Missile At Israeli Drone Over Lebanese Airspace

A major incident has unfolded along Lebanon's southern border with Israel on Thursday involving an Israeli drone. Hours ago Lebanese media reported that Hezbollah operatives shot down an Israeli aircraft, identified as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), likely with an anti aircraft missile, specifically a MANPAD (or man-portable air-defense system).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember when I commented last week that nature abhors a vacuum, particularly where geopolitics are involved, and made the observation that with Harriri retiring, Israel might just hawl off and attack Lebanon?!?

This could have been a real incident, but my gut tells me that this stinks of a false flag, to be blamed on Hezbollah, as the "justification" for Israel starting a military attack against Lebanon.

Putin pledges to 'do everything to protect Christians in the Middle East'

Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged to protect Christians threatened by the conflict in Syria, appealing to the plight of religious minorities as justification for Russia's involvement.

After a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Wednesday, Putin expressed sorrow over the persecution experienced by Christians in the Middle East, according to the Associated Press. Russian leaders have worked to develop close ties with Syria's Christian communities. Melkite Catholic Archbishop Jean-Clement Jeanbart has called Russia's intervention in the country a source of "hope for the country's Christians.

"The Middle East is the cradle of Christianity, and Christians are in peril there, facing persecution, being killed, raped, and robbed," said Putin. "Russia will do everything to protect Christians in the Middle East. We must help them restore and preserve their holy sites, preserve their congregations."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I felt obligated to present the following, upon having read the above:

Trump aims to protect persecuted Christians, but some aren't sure he's helping The article goes on to state:

' an increasingly vocal band of advocates and experts says the Trump administration’s policies have failed to address many of the challenges faced by Christians, Yazidis and other religious minorities abroad — especially those in the Middle East. Some argue the administration’s efforts to scale back refugee resettlement, deport Chaldean Christians living in the United States and potentially end temporary protected status for Syrians have only made their situation worse.

“I can tell you they feel completely abandoned,” Philippe Nassif, Amnesty International’s advocacy director for the Middle East and North Africa and former executive director of the advocacy group In Defense of Christians, told Religion News Service. “They feel ignored, and in some cases, they feel used.”

Many critics point to the administration’s decision to reduce the number of refugees allowed into the United States from 110,000 under President Obama to 45,000 shortly after Trump took office. Trump later reduced the cap to 30,000 people — the lowest since the refugee resettlement program started in the 1980s — and White House officials are now reportedly mulling eliminating refugee resettlement altogether.

The reductions have sparked outrage among the nine nonprofit groups that help the government resettle refugees, six of which are faith-based."

I would have hoped, than when President Trump made those statements about protecting persecuted religious minorities in the the Middle East, that he was at least half-way serious about doing so; unfortunately, current events with these issues, do not augur well for these promises to be kept.

Right now, I would characterize his statements as coming from a "language of convenience", to get out the way of any criticisms he may be facing, both by his boosters, and his detractors.

Baghdadi raid video released as US general warns of Isis reprisal attacks: General Kenneth McKenzie says Isis will remain a threat as he shows footage of raid on leader’s Syria hideout

McKenzie said the US was under no illusions it had destroyed Isis, and warned the group would try to take revenge.

“They will be dangerous. We suspect they will try some form of retribution attack,” he said. “We don’t see a bloodless future because unfortunately this ideology is going to be out there.”

However McKenzie predicted that the campaign against Baghdadi would grind down Isis capabilities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... And if ISIS doesn't provide a "retribution attack", one can be reasonably certain that the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika has something to cobble together to make it appear that ISIS has done a "retribution attack" against US forces in Syria, causing the US, of course, to have to bring in "yet more "troops and equipment" with which to "guard" (translation: steal) Syria's oil.

And were I a betting woman, I would suggest that such an attack may well happen sooner, rather than later, before the American public, with their intense, collective, and raging case of ADHD, forgets that it was US forces who finally "felled Al-Baghdadi" in Syria.

And would someone, still in their right mind, from this madness, explain to me what the hell we are still doing in Syria?!?

Were we invited by the Syrian Government?!? Uh....no.

Were we invited in by the Russian Government, assisting the Al Assad Presidency in fighting the US trained and equipped jihadis, who were desperately trying to take out his government?!? Uh.....no.

So folks, here is the butt-ugly truth of this situation; the Trump Regime has ordered our military to invade a sovereign country, with which the US government is not at all, technically, in any degree of war against, and it has decided that stealing, and selling, Syrian oil is the highest of all possible actions we can take here, while also protecting Israel's "divine right" to squash any alleged "Iranian forces" it imagines/believes are in the country, as they see fit.

What's wrong with this picture?!? Why, absolutely nothing, if putting US troops into harm's way for no lawful, legal purpose, and wanting to engender unending war in the region are this government's goals, there is absolutely nothing wrong here; nothing to see; just don't pay attention.

But I just have to wonder how long Russia's Putin will allow this nonsense to fester, before making it crystal clear that US troops will have to vacate Syria, and permanently.

And please remember; just because a scenario is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing President Trump could do right now, like ordering our troops to attempt to clobber Russia in Syria for its oil, is utterly no guarantee that he will not do it; God only knows, he needs some distraction from the "Impeachment Frenzy", which culminated yesterday (Halloween) in the passage of the the Dementocrat's ginned-up rules for presenting evidence in this process.

Mr. President, I must strongly caution you; please don't do this, as in sending our troops to fight both Russian and Syrian troops for Syria's oil; this would be a really bad choice, sir, one one that would permanently, even further, stain the reputation of this country as a force for good, and for peace.

A CIA-BACKED MILITIA TARGETED CLINICS IN AFGHANISTAN, KILLING MEDICAL WORKERS AND CIVILIANS

The men were jolted awake again sometime after midnight. The main gate to the clinic, which was next to the guard’s room, had been blown in, and the staff heard hurried footsteps in the ruined entryway. The intruders ran past the guard’s room and into the clinic’s main building. The clinic staff huddled in the darkened room as several doors were kicked in across the compound yard. After what one of the clinic workers described as five or six minutes, the staffers, worried that they’d surprise the intruders when they eventually reached the guard’s room, called out, “We’re in here!”

WHATSAPP CLAIMS THAT AN ISRAELI TECH FIRM’S SPYWARE TARGETED HUMAN-RIGHTS ACTIVISTS AND JOURNALISTS

SOURCE: NEW YORKER
This spring, a team of engineers at WhatsApp detected a series of suspicious calls on the messaging service’s networks, many of them emanating from phone numbers in Sweden, the Netherlands, Israel, and other countries. At first, WhatsApp wasn’t sure what was happening. Then the engineers, working with their counterparts at Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, realized that the voice and video calls were somehow infecting targeted phones with advanced spyware, using a penetration method that the company had never encountered before. Most disturbing to the investigators was that it appeared many of the targeted phones became infected whether the calls were answered or not—what’s known as a zero-click vulnerability.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised at this development; Tel Aviv doesn't give a damn about the truth of what is happening to the Palestinian people, and will use every foul and filthy tech-centric way they can find, to choke the life out of any telling of punishing, real events happening the West Bank, East Jerusalem, or Gaza.

JOHNSTONE: MAINSTREAM JOURNALISTS WHO REFUSE TO DEFEND DISSIDENT JOURNALISTS ARE WORSHIPERS OF POWER

Alternative media circles have been buzzing for the last two days ever since news broke about the arrest of Grayzone journalist Max Blumenthal, who was reportedly jailed for two days after a SWAT-style police team showed up threatening to break his door down last Friday.

Blumenthal is charged with simple assault alleged to have taken place five months ago during the notorious standoff when the US government was working to remove the official Venezuelan government from its DC embassy and replace it with diplomats from the Guaido-led puppet government it was attempting to force into power. Dissident journalists, including Blumenthal, stationed themselves in the embassy in opposition to the illegal eviction and to document the behavior of the evictors. Blumenthal calls the assault charge “a 100 percent false, fabricated, bogus, untrue, and malicious lie.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

On this issue, I have to agree with Ms. Johnstone; looking at the amount of codswallop and bovine excrement regularly thrown in the faces of contributors to WRH, as well as its long-time supporters, reality supports her conclusions in this article.

THE NEW WORLD IS EMERGING BEFORE US

In February 1943, the Soviet victory over the Nazi Reich marked the turnaround of the Second World War. The next steps were inevitable. It was not until the Anglo-American landing in Normandy (June 1944), the Yalta conference (February 1945), the suicide of Chancellor Hitler (February 1945) and finally the surrender of the Reich (8 May 1945) that this new world emerged. In one year (June 44-May 45), the Great Reich had been replaced by the Soviet-US duopoly. The United Kingdom and France, which were still the world’s two leading powers twelve years earlier, were to witness the decolonization of their empires.

It is a moment like this that we are experiencing today.

LEAKED DOCUMENT REVEALS THAT SIDEWALK LABS’ TORONTO PLANS FOR PRIVATE TAXATION, PRIVATE ROADS, CHARTER SCHOOLS, CORPORATE COPS AND JUDGES, AND PUNISHMENT FOR PEOPLE WHO CHOOSE PRIVACY

SOURCE: BOING BOING
Tomorrow, Toronto’s City Council will hold a key vote on Sidewalk Labs’s plan to privatize much of the city’s lakeshore in the name of creating a "smart city" owned by Google’s parent company, Alphabet.

Today, the Globe and Mail published a summary of Sidewalk Labs’s leaked "yellow book", a 2016 document that lays out Sidewalk Labs’s vision for Toronto and future projects in Detroit, Denver, and Alameda.

The plan lays out a corporate-owned city similar to Lake Buena Vista, the privately owned municipality established by the Walt Disney Company on a massive tract of central Florida land that contains the Walt Disney World resort.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That last statement, is complete and utter bovine excrement; this is precisely where the owners of Sidewalk Labs and Alphabet want to see society going.

One has to wonder when the netizens of this development will be forced, and on what schedule, to upload their thoughts for the week into the "dear leader's mainframe, to insure that they are not thinking those "double plus ungood thoughts" about anything to do with their current living situation.

New York Times Op-Ed Claims That “Free Speech Is Killing Us.” Seriously?

At the end of each opinion piece the New York Times makes the following statement: ‘The Times is committed to publishing a diversity of letters to the editor.’ Essentially, the pretext of this statement is that the New York Times does not censor or reject opinion simply because it is not aligned with the opinions of the editorial staff, and will print what does and does not resonate with the newspaper’s editors in equal measure. In other words, the New York Times purports to be strong advocates and facilitators of free speech and dissenting views.

A 'Red Army of Mediocrities': Our Soviet-Style University System

In an April 15 Boston Globe article entitled “A Message to All Professional Thinkers: We Either Hang Together or We Hang Separately,” historian Niall Ferguson described the now-routine “outing” of conservative professors at American Universities by the hard-Left Marxists who control most of them. The usual procedure is to first lie about something the conservative (or libertarian) supposedly said to whip a “Twitter mob” into a hateful frenzy. The local media then pick up on it and pile on.

In an effort to stop “conspiracy theories” and “misinformation” from spreading online, the crowdfunding website GoFundMe has decided to join in on Big Tech’s censorship spree by banning all “anti-vaxxers” from raising money through its platform – because apparently only pro-vaxxers deserve to fundraise.

Fake Narratives as Cover For High Crimes

Western stories about Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi are meant to confuse, to distract, and to strengthen fake narratives.

First, the West supports Daesh in Syria (and beyond). It isn’t a secret.

Finally, it fortifies the fake “War on Terror” myth which inverts the truth, which is that the West supports terrorism in all its forms as it commits war crimes as policy.

The political spectacles, the transparent war lies, the fake narratives, obscure foundational issues. The Right to Self-Determination is foundational to International Law.

Syria has every right to take any and all necessary measures to regain ITS OWN OIL FIELDS. Washington has ZERO rights to steal the oil.Second, it provides a distraction from what is really happening in Syria. Whereas the West has been destroying Syria and stealing its resources throughout the war, now Washington is basically admitting that it is stealing Syrian resources.

Trump’s Syria Trifecta?

According to Friedman, “(t)he job of the (US) president is to…oppose any foe to ensure the survival of freedom with the fact that US interests and values still require us to remain engaged around the world in a sustainable way.”

Translation: Preemptive wars on targeted nations threatening no one are OK as long as waged by Pentagon and allied forces, the rule of law a nonissue.Fact: The so-called global war on terrorism is a colossal hoax. It’s war OF terrorism on humanity at home and abroad, not on it.

Fact: ISIS and likeminded terrorist groups are used as US imperial foot soldiers in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, and virtually anywhere else where the Pentagon and CIA want them deployed.

The notion of involvement by US forces in combatting ISIS is one of the biggest Big Lies about US wars of aggression.

JOURNALIST MAX BLUMENTHAL ARRESTED, HIT WITH POLITICAL PROSECUTION RELATED TO VENEZUELA REPORTING

Journalist Max Blumenthal was arrested on October 25 and charged with “assault” in a political case that he says is “completely false” and “manufactured” by Venezuela opposition supporters.

From April to May, supporters of Juan Guaido’s attempted coup in Venezuela surrounded the Venezuela embassy in Washington, D.C. They engaged in verbal and physical assaults that authorities largely permitted.

Blumenthal, the editor of The Grayzone, reported on antiwar and international solidarity activists, who attempted to protect the embassy from the right-wing opposition.

According to Grayzone reporter Ben Norton, “A team of D.C. police officers appeared at Blumenthal’s door at just after 9 AM, demanding entry and threatening to break his door down. A number of officers had taken positions on the side of his home as though they were prepared for a SWAT-style raid.”

US Military Envisions Broad Defense of Syrian Oilfields: Esper says US will keep Syrian government away from Syrian oil.

The Pentagon intends to retain control of Syria’s oilfields going forward, and says they will repel anyone else trying to take that oil with “overwhelming force.” This has become the chief, and materially only, military goal of the US military operation in Syria.

Since President Trump announced his intention to control the oil, and conceivably to try to take some of it on behalf of the US, the Pentagon has been revising the Syria mission around controlling the oil. This has included sending more troops and tanks.

Pentagon officials have tried to build this narrative around keeping ISIS from reclaiming the oilfields, since they held them once. With ISIS barely existing anymore, that’s not a realistic threat, and Defense Secretary Mark Esper conceded on Monday that the deployments of US forces are meant to “deny access” to the oil to either Russia or the Syrian government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec Def Esper and President Trump, a word, please: have you collectively gone barking mad, to have made this statement>?!?

This.... is brigandry writ large, and completely against all logic, and all international norms. I don't know how many international treaties we are ditching by doing this, but I would almost bet, quite a few.

And Mr. President, now long do you think you have before Putin makes a decision that the theft of Syrian oil will not be allowed to stand, after taking such care to bring a positive outcome to Bashir Al-Assad;'s government, against US trained, armed, and funded jihadis?!?

Mr. President, I am no politician; just a composer with a little bit of logic.

I don't know who is advising you on this issue, but all the legalistic codswallop they have been feeding you, to justify the unjustifiable, is nothing short of thoroughly, as in soft rubber-room to prevent self-harm, insane.

I would very much like you to reconsider this, Mr. President; at this point in our military's existence, we don't have the troop strength; the weaponry; the money; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia over Syria's oil.

Please; the naked irrationality of this act, gives the US government the well-deserved moniker "unhinged"; and I feel that I must strongly caution you, that if you push Russia hard enough, I can almost guarantee you a push back; can that really be the design objective of this lunatic move?!?

War with Russia over Syria's oil?!? Let's not go there.

Cyberattack Shuts Down India's Largest Nuclear Power Plant

Via GreatGameIndia.com,

India’s second (and largest) nuclear power unit stopped operating on 19th October 2019. It is suspected that the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant was hit by a cyberattack and the authorities were already alerted of the threat months in advance. Even as cybersecurity experts are investigating the case, the authorities were quick to dismiss any occurrence of a spyware infiltrating their systems. The power plant project built in collaboration with Russia has been a target of foreign players since its inception.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Double-plus ungood, considering that the tensions in this part of the world are running very hot, and close enough to the surface between India and Pakistan, that limited shooting has already broken out.

I would like to hope that some of the adults in the room in the Bowels of Power who believe that peace and stability trumps war, murder and, population dislocations, are working the phones between New Delhi, and Islamabad, and trying to get the tensions ratcheted down.

Unfortunately, (spoiler alert), I do not believe that any kind of movement in this direction will come from the US.

So Vlad (Putin), and Sergei Lavrov), I am counting on you two gentlemen to do what you can to start creating some confidence building measures, so the tensions do not escalate any more badly than they already have.

Pompeo Calls on Lebanese Political Leaders to Form New Government 'to the Needs of Its Citizens'

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The Trump administration wants political leaders in Lebanon to rapidly create a new government in the wake of the resignation of the country’s prime minister, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement.

"In light of Prime Minister [Saad] Hariri’s resignation, the United States calls on Lebanon’s political leaders to urgently facilitate the formation of a new government that can build a stable, prosperous, and secure Lebanon that is responsive to the needs of its citizens," Pompeo said on Tuesday.https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=images+yemeni+children%2C+dead+or+dying+from+saudi+airstrikes&qpvt=Images%3a++Yemeni+children%2c+dead+or+dying+from+Saudi+Airstrikes&form=IGRE&first=1&cw=1129&ch=597

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious, by making this statement, than Pompeo knows very little about the complexity of the Lebanese government, and how this is arranged.

How the Lebanese Government is Structured

But nature abhors a vacuum; I am just hoping (and praying) that Israel doesn't feel that "timing is perfect" for attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon, and of course, any "justification" (most probably without a shred of actual evidence) will do.

WORLD LEADERS FLOCK TO RIYADH A YEAR AFTER KHASHOGGI’S MURDER

CROWN PRINCE OF SAUDI ARABIA MOHAMMAD BIN SALMAN (L) IS WELCOMED INDIAN PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI (R) WITH AN OFFICIAL WELCOMING CEREMONY AT PRESIDENTIAL PALACE IN NEW DELHI, INDIA ON FEBRUARY 20, 2019 [INDIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY/HANDOUT/ANADOLU AGENCY]
Just one year after Saudi journalists Jamal Khashoggi’s brutal murder in his country’s Consulate in Istanbul, world leaders are flocking to Riyadh to attend a flagship investor meeting known as “Davos in the desert”.
Although there has been very little progress in bringing those responsible for the grisly murder to justice, the CIA and several other intelligence agencies believe that the killing was authorised by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, the de facto ruler of the Kingdom.

Five presidents and the heads of some of the world’s biggest banks and arms manufacturers are reported to be among those heading to Saudi Arabia for the potentially lucrative event.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, for all of these attendees, money trumps state-sponsored assassinations any day.

THE NEVER-ENDING WARS ON TERRORISM AND DRUGS

SOURCE: JACOB G. HORNBERGER
Not long after President George W. Bush declared a “war on terrorism,” I wrote that this war would end up being as perpetual as the federal government’s war on drugs. Some 18 years later, the U.S. government’s killing of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Syria confirms how right I was.

After all, given all the media hype about the killing, you would think that the war on terrorism had been won and had finally been brought to an end. Some people were undoubtedly even getting ready for a ticker-tape parade in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the end of the war on terrorism.

Alas, not even close! Despite the much-ballyhooed killing of Baghdadi, there are still lots more terrorists, both big and little, in the world to kill. After 18 years of terrorism warfare, the Pentagon and the CIA are just getting a good start killing terrorists.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This reminds me, and in the gravest manner possible, that George Orwell's masterpiece "1984" was a cautionary tale; not a how-to manual.

There are reasons why drugs will never become declassified in this country; and that is, a lot of people - including those execs at the banks currently laundering drug money, are making a killing - both literally, with the drugs, and economically- from the money laundering.

The perpetual "War on Terror" gets the military industrial complex fat with profits (and not always with first-class weapons, I might add), but any potential Presidential candidate who is not to their liking, if they are not war-centric in their thinking, so as to believe unflinchingly that wars are the only way to maintain American hegemony, will be "marginalized" to the point where they don't even exist in just enough primaries, as to be eliminated from the race.

Just look at what is happening to Democratic Candidate Tulsi Gabbard right now, if you do not believe me, and in the DNC's throwing her under the proverbial bus, they are marginalizing any gains in 2020, including their chance to win the Presidency (Tom Perez, DNC Chair, do you really, please, understand, what is happening?!?)

PG&E SUED BY INSURANCE COMPANIES WHEN “SMART” METERS CAUGHT FIRE ON CALIFORNIA HOMES

BY B.N. FRANK
Many people are aware that California utility company PG&E is being held accountable for playing a significant role in the state’s devastating wildfires.

What many may not know is that insurance companies have taken legal action against PG&E after their “Smart” Meters caught fire on California homes.

In 2015 hundreds of PG&E smart meters simultaneously exploded in Stockton, CA after a truck caused a power surge. Scary, right?

Tens of millions of “Smart” Meters have been installed by different utility companies worldwide and “Smart” Meter fires and explosions aren’t isolated to PG&E. Hundreds of thousands of have been recalled or replaced throughout North America due to failure, malfunctioning, overheating, fires and explosions. Some American elected officials have been taking action against their forced installation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable, yet perfectly predictable, even when these utility companies knew the risks, both in terms of fire and risk to humans and their pets!!

‘THIS CHARGE IS 100% FALSE’: GRAYZONE EDITOR MAX BLUMENTHAL ARRESTED MONTHS AFTER REPORTING ON VENEZUELAN OPPOSITION VIOLENCE

BY BEN NORTON
Max Blumenthal, the editor of the news site The Grayzone, was arrested on the morning of October 25 on a fabricated charge related to the siege of the Venezuelan embassy in Washington, DC that took place between April and May.

A team of DC police officers appeared at Blumenthal’s door at just after 9 AM, demanding entry and threatening to break his door down. A number of officers had taken positions on the side of his home as though they were prepared for a SWAT-style raid.

Blumenthal was hauled into a police van and ultimately taken to DC central jail, where he was held for two days in various cells and cages. He was shackled by his hands and ankles for over five hours in one such cage along with other inmates. His request for a phone call was denied by DC police and corrections officers, effectively denying him access to the outside world.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, reporting on facts has become passe in the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, and truth which is not appreciated by the people in power, don't want anyone to know who and what the US government is supporting to ultimately supplant Maduro in Venezuela.

And there is a very disturbing companion piece, also in blacklistednews.com, which gives me cause for concern about the state, and future, of free speech in this country, IF, in fact, it is true;

"Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com,

More than half of Americans want the government to censor

The Article goes on to state:

The results of a new survey are truly disturbing. It was discovered that more than half of Americans want themselves, others, and the media censored by the government. Unfortunately, instead of learning from history, people are actually asking for a repeat of Nazi Germany or the gulags of the Soviet Union.

The First Amendment, which guarantees Americans freedom of speech, should be overhauled to reflect current cultural norms, according to 51 percent of the respondents to a survey published on Wednesday by the Campaign for Free Speech. The campaign is hoping to call attention to the dire state of Americans’ preeminent civil rights with the poll, which breaks down opposition along gender, race, class, and educational lines."

Sometimes, the truth is just butt-ugly, and there are moments when my heart breaks, to see the evil of which humankind is incredibly capable, particularly when it involves in war crimes, as is happening in Yemen right now.

But as a Christian Pacifist Activist, I do not have the luxury of either blinking, and turning away or, crying; I have to be disciplined enough to understand that the American people need to have a peaceful, and rational conversation about how the ongoing genocide in Yemen, is actually "making Amerika more safe", or "Protecting the American way of life.

That's just part of my job.

So I will continue to post those pictures some in this country despise, because ... they represent the truth of military might gone mad, and what the consequences of that continue to be.

Sorry; but in my world, there is no such thing as "collateral damage"; particularly when it comes to non-combatants.

America Has Been at War 93% of the Time – 222 out of 239 Years – Since 1776

The U.S. Has Only Been At Peace For 21 Years Total Since Its Birth

Below, I have reproduced a year-by-year timeline of America’s wars, which reveals something quite interesting: since the United States was founded in 1776, she has been at war during 214 out of her 235 calendar years of existence. In other words, there were only 21 calendar years in which the U.S. did not wage any wars.

Video footage shows seven-year-old James Younger telling his biological father that fake mother Anne Georgulas is forcing him to be a “girl”

This woman belongs in a Nut House!

(Natural News) The father of seven-year-old James Younger, a Texas boy who’s being forcibly transitioned into a “girl” by Anne Georgulas of Dr. Anne Pediatrics in Coppell, has publicly shared video footage proving that young James would prefer to remain a boy.

In the clip, which Jeffrey Younger, James’ biological father, shared to his “Save James” website, young James is seen telling his dad that, “Mommy tells me I’m a girl” – “mommy” referring to Anne Georgulas, Jeffrey’s ex-wife who’s not actually James’ biological mother.

Since James and his twin brother were created in vitro from Jeffrey’s sperm and the eggs of an unidentified donor, Georgulas has no biological relation to either of the boys, though she’s taken it upon herself to seek sex change “therapy” for James because she always wanted a little girl.

Measles vaccines at NZ pharmacies get green light

Pharmacies will soon be giving out measles vaccines as part of the effort to halt the spread of contagious disease, the Government has announced.

There have been more than 1900 confirmed cases of measles around the country this year, with nearly 1600 as part of an outbreak in Auckland alone.

Authorities two weeks ago announced they believed the spread had peaked.

There are 864 pharmacists around the country who are allowed to provide vaccinations for the flu, shingles, whooping cough and meningitis, but current rules mean they aren't funded to provide the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine.

They've been calling to be allowed to help with this year's outbreak and the Government on Wednesday announced the rules would be changed to allow them to be paid to vaccinate people over 16 years old for measles.

(NZ)Ministry wants to ban choke-risk foods from early childhood centres

*Welcome to the Nanny State*
The Ministry of Education is considering a ban on foods including sausages, chips and popcorn in early childhood centres because they pose a high choking risk.

The ministry has told centres it wants to make Ministry of Health guidelines on food preparation compulsory in order to reduce the risk of children choking on their food.

It said under-fives were at higher risk of choking because they had small air and food passages and were still learning how to chew food properly.

Since the start of 2016, the ministry had been alerted to seven cases of choking, including the case of a 22-month-old child who suffered severe brain damage after choking on an apple.

Ministry of Health guidelines said services should exclude foods that presented "the highest risk of choking and either would not be practical to alter in an early learning service, have no or minimal nutritional value, or both".

Lebanese PM Hariri submits his resignation amid ongoing anti-govt. protests

Embattled Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has submitted his resignation as people remain on the streets across Lebanon for the thirteenth day of anti-government demonstrations against the country’s economic crisis.

“I have reached a dead end today. I will head to the Baabda Palace to submit the government's resignation to President Michel Aoun,” Hariri said as he addressed the Lebanese nation in a televised speech on Tuesday evening.

“Posts are not important; what’s important is the country's dignity and safety,” he added, calling upon people from all strata of the Lebanese society to preserve the stability and security of the country.

Hariri highlighted that he wants to make a “positive shock,” saying, “No one is bigger than his country.”

He also told Lebanese political parties that “It is our responsibility to protect Lebanon.

Under the constitution, Hariri’s cabinet would stay on in a caretaker capacity until a new government is formed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given the timing of this resignation, I would not bet against Israel using this Lebanese crisis as "the moment" for an attempted decap strike against Beirut, claiming that Hezbollah has triumphed in this resignation, and must now be put down.

‘Side with India and face our missiles’ – Pakistan’s minister for Kashmir issues stark warning to all friends of its enemy

Countries who side with India in its standoff with Pakistan over the disputed Kashmir region face being at the receiving end of the Islamic Republic’s missiles, according to the country’s minister for Kashmir affairs.

Speaking at a function on Monday, Minister Ali Amin Gandapur warned that Pakistan was willing to go to war over the contested territory. “If the tension with India escalates on the issue of Kashmir, Pakistan will be forced into a war,” he said.

Gandapur added that he regrets that the world has done nothing to resolve the issue and issued a stark warning to countries considering supporting India in the dispute.

This does not bode well for peace in the region.

And unfortunately, there seem to be no interested set of mature third parties willing to step in, and ratchet down the tensions here.

Former Scania CEO Warns of Upcoming Civil War in Sweden

According to Leif Östling, former CEO of one of the world's leading truck manufacturers, immigration has spiralled out of control and has placed Sweden on the brink of “internal wars”, where military force may be needed to quell unrest in migrant areas.

In a lengthy interview with SwebbTV, the former Scania CEO has claimed that the arrival of new migrants poses severe integration problems and may have drastic repercussions for the Swedish economy and society as a whole.

“Now this is a simple question there, and it's because we've taken in far too many people from outside. And we did. Those who come from the Middle East and Africa live in a society that we left almost a hundred years ago”, Östling said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am very concerned that this will not only be happening in Sweden, but also in other areas of Europe, where immigration from the Middle East and Africa has happened much too quickly to allow true assimilation.

Video: Jordanian Woman Locked Up in Israel Sent to Hospital After Monthlong Hunger Strike

Jordanian woman Heba al-Labadi was admitted to the Bnei Zion Hospital in the city of Haifa Thursday, after going on a monthlong hunger strike to protest her detention without trial by Israeli officials.

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Labadi, 32, received fluids at the hospital on Thursday and Monday before being sent back to the Kishon Prison in northern Israel where she is being held. She was arrested by Israeli officials on August 20 at the Allenby Bridge that connects the West Bank with Jordan “because of suspicion of her involvement in serious security violations,” according to the Israeli Shin Bet security service.

Labadi has been held in administrative detention for months without any formal charges, with Israeli authorities claiming that she is a danger to the country’s security.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Indefinite detention, coupled with torture and solitary confinement, without any real shred of something approximating evidence, is a common set of tools used by Shin Bet.

Watch Live: Boeing CEO Testify In Front Of Senate - "We Made Mistakes"

Boeing's CEO is set to appear before the Senate Commerce committee today to address the controversy surrounding the two fatal 737 Max crashes that took the lives of 346 people. According to Bloomberg, Chief Executive Officer Dennis Muilenburg will also address new allegations that the company withheld safety information from regulators subsequent to the crashes, a story we first reported on about two weeks ago.

He will be the first official from Boeing to testify publicly, and the company's storied history and now-tarnished reputation (not to mention Muilenburg's job) may hang in the balance.

Muilenberg's upcoming testimony, released by the company on Monday, states: "We know we made mistakes and got some things wrong. We own that, and we are fixing them. We have developed improvements to the 737 Max to ensure that accidents like these never happen again."

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a companion piece from drudge.com, which I am linking to here:

Families Confront Boeing CEO, Dennis Muilenburg, on Capital Hill with Photos of 737 Max Crash Victims

These people are all dead, because Boeing executives signed off on unsafe practices, equipment, and procedures, and tried to lie about doing so.

I know that this will not happen, but in my world, every single executive who knowingly signed off on these should be tried and convicted by a jury of their peers, on some form of corporate negligence manslaughter, and serve the hardest time possible.

That just might give airline executives pause before doing something similarly, and collectively stupid, when it comes to the safety of their passengers.

The Cost of Climate Change Indoctrination

From a comment on Facebook from Jeff McQueen:

After our daughter of fifteen years of age was moved to tears by the speech of Greta Thunberg at the UN the other day, she became angry with our generation “who had been doing nothing for thirty years.”

So, we decided to help her prevent what the girl on TV announced of “massive eradication and the disappearance of entire ecosystems.”

We are now committed to give our daughter a future again, by doing our part to help cool the planet four degrees.

From now on she will go to school on a bicycle, because driving her by car costs fuel, and fuel puts emissions into the atmosphere. Of course it will be winter soon and then she will want to go by bus, but only as long as it is a diesel bus.

Somehow, that does not seem to be conducive to ‘helping the Climate’.

The Real News Is What is not in the News

By Gary D. Barnett
So what is not in the mainstream news?

Julian Assange is not in the news. This hero who simply told the truth and exposed the U.S. military and political scum for what they really are, has been almost totally ignored by the media. He was forced into isolation for years, then taken prisoner, drugged, tortured, and is on the verge of death, but news about his plight is not to be found in any mainstream publication.“Only those who do not wish to see can be deceived.” ~ Dianna Hardy, Saving Eve

It has been said that hidden truths are unspoken lies. There are plenty of lies in the mainstream news today, whether it is related to politics and politicians, to important events, to war, to economic trickery and deceit, and on and on, but what about the truths that are hidden from view? These are lies as well, but these lies hold dark secrets, as lies of omission are the most sinister of all.

Something Stinks in Syria’s Oil Fields

When the US “withdrew” from Syria, Donald Trump announced that he had secured Syria’s oil from ISIS and was protecting it.
Further announcements indicated the US was leaving 500 troops there and would be moving in heavy armor, this being done well outside the purview of agreements with Russia and certainly in violation of Syria’s sovereignty.

Behind it all, we have the very long history of oil theft in the region but first we are going to touch on recent statements made by President Assad who asserted that Turkey, under Erdogan, had stolen billions in Syrian assets, entire factories, oil, wheat, antiquities, and more.

I had gone over existing lists with Dr. Najm, then Minister of Justice, now a law professor in Damascus and columnist for Veterans Today.

Whether Baghdadi or others headed ISIS leaves unexplained that the terror group was created, supported and controlled by the US, their fighters used as proxy troops, deployed to Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen and elsewhere, aided by Pentagon terror-bombing.

Trump’s Sunday announcement about the alleged elimination of Baghdadi was a political stunt, diverting attention momentarily from Dem efforts to remove him by impeachment, along with aiming to boost his reelection campaign — by falsely claiming he’s combatting terrorism, the scourge created and supported by the US.

They Live, We Sleep: Beware the Growing Evil in Our Midst

“You see them on the street. You watch them on TV. You might even vote for one this fall. You think they’re people just like you. You’re wrong. Dead wrong.” — They Live
All is not as it seems.

This is the premise of John Carpenter’s film They Live, which was released more than 30 years ago, and remains unnervingly, chillingly appropriate for our modern age.

We’re living in two worlds, you and I.

There’s the world we see (or are made to see) and then there’s the one we sense (and occasionally catch a glimpse of), the latter of which is a far cry from the propaganda-driven reality manufactured by the government and its corporate sponsors, including the media.

MORE PROOF TRUMP IS THE "CONTROLLED OPPOSITION" AFTER ALL

By Brandon Smith
From Bob Livingstone's Personal Liberty Alerts

In the summer of 2016 during the election campaign I examined the Trump phenomenon and how it relates to the globalist narrative. I concluded that Trump would be president based on the fact that having a (supposedly) hardcore nationalist and populist conservative in the White House over the next four years would actually be highly beneficial to the elites. At the time the Federal Reserve was getting ready to tighten liquidity, which would inevitably lead to market volatility and a crash in fundamentals. By the end of Trump's first term, or perhaps at the beginning of his second term, the recessionary crisis would become obvious to the general public. Trump, and all conservatives, would be blamed for the resulting disaster that the banking elites engineered.

How US Flooded the World with Psyops

Special Report: The mainstream U.S. media obsesses over Russian “propaganda” yet the U.S. government created a “psyops” bureaucracy three decades ago to flood the world with dubious information, reports Robert Parry.

By Robert Parry

Newly declassified documents from the Reagan presidential library help explain how the U.S. government developed its sophisticated psychological operations capabilities that – over the past three decades – have created an alternative reality both for people in targeted countries and for American citizens, a structure that expanded U.S. influence abroad and quieted dissent at home.

Globalist Trump Fake Left-Right Paradigm Psyop Against Real Truthers Continues

Some food for thought.

What you're seeing in the controlled opposition fake internet war is a continued attempt by Bilderberg Kissenger-Trump. To completely co-opt the conspiracy movement. Which they tried before. When Edifying Others original main channel was censored and never brought back. Over reporting on the globalists Trump wanting a sole Trump fake conspiracy channel. Now again, the globalist are faking another fake Alex Jones shutdown. As the pretext to shutdown real truther channels exposing the masonic paradigm fraud. While desiring to leave their controlled opposition as the sole outlets for news. In an attempt to continue globalist Trump faking his way through his duplicitous presidency as a nationalist, only to promote globalist wars and their agenda.

WATCH: Canadian Professor Lost Her Job for Telling the Truth About ‘Endangered’ Polar Bears

A Canadian university has frozen a zoologist out of her adjunct professor post as punishment for saying the unsayable about polar bears: that populations are thriving; that they are not endangered; that stories about how they are being caused to starve by melting summer sea ice are junk science #FakeNews.

Julian Assange’s Extradition Case is a Show Trial

The worst moment was one of a number of ‘worst’ moments. I have sat in many courtrooms and seen judges abuse their positions, This judge, Vanessa Baraitser– actually she isn’t a judge at all; she’s a magistrate — shocked all of us who were there.

Her face was a progression of sneers and imperious indifference; she addressed Julian with an arrogance that reminded me of a magistrate presiding over apartheid South Africa’s Race Classification Board. When Julian struggled to speak, he couldn’t get words out, even stumbling over his name and date of birth.

When he spoke truth and when his barrister spoke, Baraister contrived boredom; when the prosecuting barrister spoke, she was attentive. She had nothing to do; it was demonstrably preordained. In the table in front of us were a handful of American officials, whose directions to the prosecutor were carried by his junior; back and forth this young woman went, delivering instructions.

Saudi Prince Tells U.S. Congress to Get Over Its Frustrations

Prince Turki criticized congressional representatives on Wednesday for the “horror” and “disdain” they express for Saudi Arabia, saying U.S. lawmakers are unable to perform their jobs to address “issues of racism and racial inequality” and to reform gun ownership laws. He also said that most U.S. media has a “consistently blinkered view” of Saudi Arabia, one that portrays negative events in the kingdom as “being the norm.”

The murder last year of Khashoggi, a U.S resident and Washington Post columnist, as well as the long-running war and humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the detention of Saudi female activists have all strained the kingdom’s relations with much of the Washington establishment outside the White House. Senior lawmakers in both parties remain unified on the issue of punishing the kingdom.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prince Turki, a moment of your time, please; you see, unlike your Kingdom, where people have utterly no right to either dissent, or to have any choice in those who represent them, there is something to be said about the way in which the US government was originally set up, as a representative government.

It is not that way now, but it used to be.

Yes, this country has a long way to go to deliver on many of its promises to all of its citizens.

But that being said, your Grace, it appears to many Americans that what you are experiencing, in Saudi Arabia, is a moment where intense, unbridaled tribal Feudalism is butting heads heads with 21st century, and the results just look pretty damned ugly, particularly with a 24/7 news cycle, which does, occasionally get it right about your country.

Shall we go over some of those issues, before I get to Yemen, please?!? Gee, I KNEW would understand, Prince; thanks.

Saudi "therapist" advises men on how to beat their wives

Saudi Arabia; 10 reasons why women flee

Religion in Saudi Arabia (where practitioners of other faiths are forced to worship in private, and can get assassinated for attempting to convert a Muslim away from their faith

And of course, there's that wonderful nicety your country's "flavor" of Wahhabism still encourages, that of female genital mutilation.

The Prevelance of Femail Genital Mutialtion in Saudi Arabia

Do I have your attention, right now, Prince Turki?!?

Can you tell me, Your Highness, that NONE of the above is true, with a straight face, when you understand that the entire world, looks at your country aghast, because of its denials of basic human rights, particularly when it comes peaceful freedom of expression; faith; to representative government, and to women?!?

So now, let's "talk turkey", Prince Turki, about your country's latest meltdown, and I am addressing the war in Yemen; three years on, and even with the best US-enabled weaponry and military assistance, you have not been able to get Yemen forces to yield.

In fact, as of late, you have experienced some rather horriific bombings on home turf, which apparently you never expected.

Yemeni women, children, and the medically fragile elderly all are getting assassinated with absolutely zero discrimination; and sir, I will have to tell you, I hate putting up the following images of what life looks like on the ground for the Yemeni people you are killing; but I promise that I will stop posting these the moment you stop assassinating children, women, and the medically infirm in this country, OK?!?

Yemeni Children, getting blown up with Saudi bombs and killed outright, or crippled for life

Yemeni children, dying of hunger, courtesy of Saudi/US Port blockades, so no desperately needed food can come through

Images: Yemeni children dying of cholera, because Yemen's water infrastructure has been destroyed, and the water possibly weaponized

Finally, Prince Turki, I would suggest to you, and this is something you most probably already understand; everything has a life cycle, from people; to governments; to planets; and for the stars themselves.

But I can promise you that history .... will not be particularly kind to you, nor toward the incessantly brutal regime for which you are "carrying water", here in the US.

Oh yes, later this week, the weapons makers will take your money for their bombs, and convince themselves that they have done "something of value" for "stability" in the region; of course, the sheer, stark reality here is, they have done nothing of the kind, except to insure that this genocide in Yemen is going to continue, and God only knows for how long.

So it is fine with me, if you scold our (theoretically) elected government officials, and those corporations they serve; to "get over it" regarding the assassination of Kashoggi and your war in Yemen; as we both understand, any reasonable read of US history suggests that assassinations have been part of statescraft for the US for some time.

but please, sir, do NOT tell me, as a Christian Pacifist Activist to "get over it" when, by collaborating with Saudi Forces in Yemen, this country, whose nationality I share, becomes guilty of war crimes. as it unfortunately has many times over in its history.

95 Demonstrators Injured in Gaza Protests: Protests Mark the 80th Friday of the Great March of Return

This past Friday marked the 80th Great March of Return in the occupied Gaza Strip. Since March 2018, protesters have gathered near the Israel border fence every Friday. Israeli forces have killed over 300 Gazans since the protests started, most near the border fence.

At the most recent demonstrations, 95 protesters were injured, among them 43 children, 2 paramedics, and a journalist. 36 of those wounded were shot with live bullets, the rest either hit with rubber bullets or tear gas canisters.

Demonstrators are demanding an end to the blockade that has been in effect since 2007. The economy of Gaza is in dire straits, unemployment is around 50 percent, and about 70 percent for the occupied territories’ youth.

Israeli forces have killed children, journalists, paramedics, and disabled people since the protests began. In February, the UN released a report accusing Israeli soldiers of war crimes for how they targeted the civilian protesters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What else can we expect from a hideously apartheid, self-declared theocracy with nuclear weapons?!?

This is why the BDS movement needs to move forward, and rapidly; most Israelis speak Hebrew, but are bilingual in economics.

India, Pakistan Slowly Inching Towards Limited Scale Military Conflict

New Delhi (Sputnik): India and Pakistan are doing little to deescalate their border conflict, and the situation on the ground appears to be worsening with each passing week.

At least four civilians have been killed since Thursday and several injured in heavy shelling and firing at different sectors along the Line of Control (LoC), the de-facto border that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

A worrying development is the high and consistent use of artillery by both sides. In previous periods of tension the use of artillery was quite limited and would usually end up with a flag-meet. But this time, the situation seems different.

Pakistan administered Kashmir a Terrorist Controlled Country: Indian Army chief

Speaking at an army function in New Delhi on Friday, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat categorically stated that Pakistan administered Kashmir is “illegally occupied by Pakistan and being controlled by terrorists.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am hoping that some of the folks I look on as "The Adults in the Room" on geopolitics, will work the phones like crazy to calm the environment down here, and get each country to back off this prelude/dance toward war.

(Russia's President Putin) Vlad, and Sergei (His Foreign Secretary, Lavrov) you gentlemen know what I mean; please.

Such a war would be an absolute and unthinkable horror for not only for the region, but would also most probably set the entire world on fire.

IRAQ DEPLOYS ELITE COUNTER-TERRORISM UNIT TO PROTECT STATE BUILDINGS AS CHAOTIC PROTESTS ROCK BAGHDAD

SOURCE: RT
As anti-government unrest in Iraq continues, authorities have ordered a counter-terrorism force to help restore security in Baghdad. The turmoil is the latest political crisis to hit Iraq after the US-led invasion in 2003.
"Counter-Terrorism Service forces have been deployed in some areas of Baghdad to protect state buildings from undisciplined elements taking advantage of security forces being busy with protecting protests and protesters," the unit said in a statement.

Two sources who spoke to Reuters said the elite troops had been instructed to "use all necessary measures" to end ongoing protests against Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi’s government.

As many as 67 Iraqis have been killed in two days of protests, according to reports. The anti-government demonstrations, which began in early October, are believed to have already killed more than 100 people.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Cui Bono?!?

Who benefits from this unrest?!?

As these demonstrations attest, someone is hell-bent to remove any last facade as to how non brilliantly the US "Pacification" of Iraq has gone, with the country's people experiencing daily slides into more poverty, corruption, and more skirmishes with government officials.

But even these alleged "Elite Units" of the Iraqi Military security forces, are having trouble, holding their own, as witnessed by this article, published barely 24 hours ago:

Anti-Government Protestors Defy Bloody Crackdown in Iraq

And what if these Iraqi forces are unable to put down the unrest, what does the US government's military say to Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi’s government?!?

It will most probably say, that in light of the fact that Iraq still cannot protect itself from protestors, US troops will remain in Iraq on a (semi) permanent basis.

US TRIES TO REVERSE SYRIAN FORTUNES WITH “BAGHDADI RAID”

SOURCE: NEW EASTERN OUTLOOK

Timing is Everything

The supposed military operation – unfolding just miles from the Syrian-Turkish border – comes at a time when the prospects of America’s proxy war in Syria have reached all time lows.

First – US proxy forces jointly armed and aided by Turkey as well as other US allies – have been all but eliminated from the battlefield with their remnants residing in Idlib, increasingly encircled by Syrian forces.

Attempts by the US to intervene in Syria directly to oversee the overthrow of the government in Damascus was also thwarted by Russia’s military intervention beginning in 2015.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To whoever wrote this, (who must have "male attributes" of titanium, which click mightily when they walk),an industrial strength, major congrats for calling this what it most probably is; an elaborate hoax, to forward a US corporate/governmental agenda.

TULSI GABBARD NEEDS TO BE STOPPED... SHE'S TELLING PEOPLE THE TRUTH ABOUT US WARS

SOURCE: FINIAN CUNNINGHAM VIA THE STRATEGIC CULTURE FOUNDATION
No wonder Democratic Party bosses and mainstream media are trying to bury presidential contender Tulsi Gabbard. She is the only candidate, perhaps the only politician in the US, who is telling the American public exactly what they need to know about what their government and military are really up to: fighting illegal regime-change wars, and to boot, sponsoring terrorists for that purpose.

It didn’t come much clearer nor more explicit than when Gabbard fired up the Democratic TV debate this week. It was billed as the biggest televised presidential debate ever, and the Hawaii Representative told some prime-time home-truths to the nation:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Gabbard has been the only one telling the truth about these wars in these debates; and as a combat Vet who has actually SEEN combat, my bets are on her assessments right now.

IF I had the power to do so, I would introduce a national legislation requiring all currently serving members in the House, Senate, and White House, to have their kids drafted first, and serving on the front lines, throughout any war the US may conjure in the future.

When you're playing with the lives of kids whose parents you don't know, and probably never will, that phrase "collateral damage" doesn't mean much, other than an academic whitewash of murder.

And I know this kind of legislation has as much chance of getting passed, and not vetoed, as does pigs discovering that they are aerodynamic.

But I would almost be willing to bet that, if it becomes their kids, or other peoples' kids whose parents they know in Congress or in the Administration, who will be heading up the front lines of these despicable wars for profit, suddenly, we will be finding a multiplicity of other ways to achieve what leadership of the US wants to achieve economically and geopolitically.

TRUMP’S PLAN TO TAKE SYRIAN OIL SLAMMED AS ‘CLEAR VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW’ AND ‘IMPERIAL LOOTING’

President Donald Trump announced plans to violate several longstanding tenets of international law on Sunday morning during a controversial press conference celebrating the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, legal experts say.

“We are leaving soldiers to secure the oil,” Trump said. “And we may have to fight for the oil. Maybe somebody else wants the oil, in which case they have a hell of a fight.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) To the legal-eagle minions surrounding President Trump who have advised him that this is a completely reasonable; lawful; and moral; why the hell are you feeding the man this codswallop that this is a perfectly legal thing to do, under international law?!?

Can Trump's real supporters who actually care about Trump's "legacy" as President, PLEASE, gently remove these people from Trump's presence, and put them into the " Rubber Room Wing" of the White House (it's GOT to have one, by now), feed them brilliantly, keep them comfortable and healthy, but primarily safe from expounding upon any position on international law for, oh...let's say... the next one hundred years or so?!?

Because my big question on this planned US move, is to ask Russia's President Putin and Foreign Minister Lavrov, precisely what they are going to do about this, to disabuse President Trump from this notion that it is perfectly swell to do this to a sovereign country with which we are not (at the moment) at war?!?

Lord, PLEASE tell me that Trump is not ready to march into Syria for its oil, only to encounter a shooting war with the Russians; the US military does not have the money; the manufacturing; the weaponry; or the troop strength, to bring a successful outcome to a conventional war with Russia over Syria's oil.
