Pentagon Setting Military Options for Attacking VenezuelaTop officials hold closed-door meeting on potential attack

Having cancelled his Europe trip because of ongoing planning on Venezuela, Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan held closed-door meetings at the Pentagon on Friday with John Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Exact details of the meeting are not being made public, and the State Department didn’t even list the meeting as having taken place. Administration officials, however, said the focus was on discussing various military options for a US invasion of Venezuela.

Perennial hawk John Bolton seems to be salivating at the possibility of the US invading the major South American country, while Pompeo has been telling the press at every opportunity that if the US decides an attack is required “that’s what the United States will do.”

Shanahan continues to brag about the good intelligence the US has on the situation in Venezuela, a claim which must be questioned after this week’s failed coup.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That last paragraph holds a vital clue; if there was "solid intelligence" on Venezuela, then why did last week's coup attempt fizzle and fail so horrifically?!?

The Venezuelan people have never done anything to us, except to be sitting on the world's premier oil reserves.

And here's the runup: demonization, destabilization; regime change, and Brazil's oil only to be sold in US dollars.

Wash; rinse; repeat; the pattern is painfully clear by now.

The Wheels Of Real Justice Are In Motion Now: Kunstler Fears The "Desperate Resistance" Next Move...

Authored by James Howard Kunstler via Kunstler.

"Impeachment is too good for him,” Nancy Pelosi declared of the president on Thursday after “his lapdog” - as she styled Attorney General William Barr - refused to be whipped by grandstanding Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee. What did Madam Speaker have in mind then? Dragging Mr. Trump behind a Chevy Tahoe over four miles of broken light bulbs? Staking him onto a nest of fire ants? How about a beheading at the capable hands of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN)?

Mr. Barr’s stolid demeanor during the Wednesday session was a refreshing reminder of what it means to be not insane in the long-running lunatic degeneration of national politics.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I do worry about what the Left will be willing to do, to prevent a real route in 2020.

Mike and I are very blessed to be on Oahu, where even if someone disagrees with you politically, they will listen, and be at least somewhat respectful.

China's Mass Surveillance App Hacked; Code Reveals Specific Criteria For Illegal Oppression

Human Rights Watch got their hands on an app used by Chinese authorities in the western Xinjiang region to surveil, track and categorize the entire local population - particularly the 13 million or so Turkic Muslims subject to heightened scrutiny, of which around one million are thought to live in cultural 'reeducation' camps.

By "reverse engineering" the code in the "Integrated Joint Operations Platform" (IJOP) app, HRW was able to identify the exact criteria authorities rely on to 'maintain social order.' Of note, IJOP is "central to a larger ecosystem of social monitoring and control in the region," and similar to systems being deployed throughout the entire country.

The platform targets 36 types of people for data collection, from those who have "collected money or materials for mosques with enthusiasm," to people who stop using smartphones.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Don't think for a second, that the US government, and its "alphabet soup" agencies, are not SALIVATING to get their hands on this, in order to "completely judge and control" all American citizens.

Biden Was Wrong: Defense Department Says China Plans To Replace US, Become Top Power

It looks like President Trump was right yet again when he put Joe Biden on blast for being "very naive" about China after the 2020 Democratic frontrunner said the world's second-largest economy "is not competition for us."

"If Biden actually said that, that’s a very dumb statement," Trump said in a Thursday interview with Fox News.

Considering the brewing tit-for-tat antagonisms between the American Navy and People's Liberation Army-Navy in the Strait of Taiwan and the South China Sea, it's hard to believe that any American politician - much less one vying to be the commander-in-chief of the American military - would write China off so easily.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh.) We could be doing so much better, economically, if the emphasis was to "engage" rather than "enrage" countries around the world, China being one of the worst examples of US foreign policy, ever.

And at an extraordinarily delicate time in trade negotiations between the US and China?!?

This is so seriously screwed up, I hardly know where to begin.

Ukraine Confirms DNC/Clinton Operative Sought 'Dirt' On Trump During 2016 Election

A former DNC operative steeped in Trump-Russia research approached the Ukrainian government looking for 'dirt' on then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 US election, according to The Hill's John Solomon - citing written answers to questions submitted to Ambassador Valeriy Chaly's office.

Chaly confirmed that DNC contractor of Ukrainian heritage, Alexandra Chalupa, approached Ukraine seeking information on Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's dealings inside the country, in the hopes of exposing them to Congress.

Chaly says that, at the time of the contacts in 2016, the embassy knew Chalupa primarily as a Ukrainian-American activist and learned only later of her ties to the DNC. He says the embassy considered her requests an inappropriate solicitation of interference in the U.S. election.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My GOODNESS, Obama and Clinton were "busy little bees", ahead of the 2016 election, were they not?!?

Toilets & Skyscrapers: How Chicagoland's Elite Push Property Tax Bills Onto Average Joes

Authored by Ted Dabrowski and John Klingner via Wirepoints.org,

Many of Chicagoland’s elite know exactly how to pass the property-tax buck onto other residents. For decades they’ve used their powerful connections to cut their own property tax bills and push the costs onto other unsuspecting residents. And that’s left many lower-income homeowners footing ever-larger tax bills.

The latest, most blatant example is Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s removal of toilets from one of his two Chicago mansions. Pritzker ripped out the toilets and convinced then-Cook County Assessor Joseph Berrios the home was “uninhabitable.”

That move tanked the assessed value of the home and reduced Pritzker’s property tax bill by nearly $100,000. His tax savings became tax hikes for other homeowners.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But...but...but... President Obama represented the people of Illinois as their Senator from 2005 to 2008; and he couldn't (or wouldn't) do anything to fix this mess?!?

Sharyl Attkisson: How Media Narratives Became More Important Than Facts

Authored by Sharyl Attkisson via The Epoch Times,

The day that I told CBS News I wished to leave my job as investigative correspondent ahead of my contract, I didn’t give a reason. I didn’t see the point because the problem wasn’t fixable.

Nor was it isolated to CBS News.

My own take is that - as our industry has changed in ways that have become undeniable to most - I was a bit of the canary in the coal mine. By that, I mean I believe I was among the first to really pay attention to the increasingly effective operations to shape and censor news—the movements to establish narratives rather than follow facts—and to see the growing influence of smear operations, political interests, and corporate interests on the news.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a woman I really respect, professionally, and hope to see more of her independent work as a journalist.

Pentagon Warns Of Chinese Nuclear Subs Expanding Into Arctic Via "Polar Silk Road"

A new Pentagon report released late this week has voiced deep concern over increased Chinese military presence in the Arctic region, including nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines, which Beijing plans to produce at least five more of by 2020.

The Pentagon assessment explores and analyzes China's potential to erect a “Polar Silk Road” as an extension of President Xi Jinping’s ambitious Belt and Road Initiative. This would include likely deployment of security assets, such as submarines acting as nuclear deterrents and military bases in far-flung locations, found the report.

Beijing itself hasn't been secretive about this scenario, given it published an Arctic policy white paper last June, which outlined long term strategic expansion into the globe's northernmost climes, despite China's geography as a non-Arctic state.

Some of the highlights of the Pentagon report are as follows...

* * *

Military expansion under the guise of civilian research

Webmaster's Commentary:

Another pathetic bid for more money to "answer this Chinese challenge"??!?

Sorry, Pentagon; but until you can prove the spending of every CENT you have collected over the last 20 years, and why it has not anticipated this need much sooner, your funds should be rationed, like the allowance of some pimply teenager, always begging mom and dad for more.

This combination of a nearly pathological lack of planning, coupled with hog-wild spending, generally proven to be "sound and fury, signifying nothing", in terms of real-world weaponry capabilities has to stop, and right the heck now.

America's Global Financial War Strategy Is Escalating

Authored by Alasdair Macleod via GoldMoney.com,

Cyber Wars And All That...

Behind the Huawei story, we must not forget there is a wider financial war being waged by America against China and Russia.

Stories about China’s banks being short of dollars are incorrect: the shortage is of inward capital flows to support the US Government’s budget deficit. By attracting those global portfolio flows instead, China’s Belt and Road Initiative threatens US Government finances, so the financial war and associated disinformation can be expected to escalate. Hong Kong is likely to be in the firing line, due to its role in providing China with access to international finance.

Italy And Hungary Forge Alliance To Defend Europe's Borders From Migrant Invasion

Authored by Jennie Taer via SaraCarter.com,

At their talks in Budapest on Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini agreed on the importance of strong nation states, on the need to give priority in Europe to European culture based on Christian values, and on border defence.

At a joint press conference held with Mr. Salvini – who is also head of the Italian government party Lega – Mr. Orbán said they both believe the following:

that there will be no strong Europe without strong and successful nation states;

that on the continent priority must be given to European culture based on Christian values;

and that “Europe’s borders must be defended against the migrant invasion”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Soros is going to scream, that his "borderless Europe" is in shambles, but hey, Georgie, take a look around you.

How many infected, illiterate, innumerate illegal aliens, with incendiary tempers, and from societies where rape has been "normalized" for centuries, do you have living on properties you own?!?

I would almost be willing to bet, sir, that the number we are looking at, is one big, fat, hairy zero.

Too bad that you, of all people, do not want to be "culturally enriched" by that experience, as have people in the countries whose borders have been erased.

Behold The Breathtaking Weakness Of The Empire!

Authored by The Saker,

The Empire has suffered painful defeats in Afghanistan and Iraq, but one has to admit that these are “tough” countries to crack. The Empire also appears to have lost control of Libya, but that is another complex country which is very hard to control. We also saw all the pathetic huffing and puffing with the DPRK. But, let’s be honest, the USA never stood a chance to bully the DPRK into submission, nevermind invading or regime-changing it. Syria was much weaker, but here Russia, Iran and Hezbollah did a world class job of repelling all the AngloZionist attacks, political and military. Besides, I for one will never blame Trump for not listening to Bolton and not triggering WWIII over Syria (yet?)

But Venezuela?!

Webmaster's Commentary:

It has taken an enormously long time for people who (very much like me) who, from birth, were force-fed the psychologically poisonous geopolitical pablum, that this country, the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, never did any harm, and was the "poster child" for sweet reasonable relationships with almost all other countries on the planet, except those who were very, very bad,and therefore had to be "punished" by a "right makes right" foreign policy.

I have had innumerable "Buddha on the road" moments in these last 25 years or so, with my sweetheart Mike, and the website, so I have been forced to confront the unavoidable truth, that what we are told about the actions of our country, many times, has utterly no relationship with reality.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origin, the facts of history, definitely have proved him correct.

Venezuela is a case in point.

Venezuela has the world's largest proven oil reserves on the planet. Google tells us the following:

"The proven oil reserves in Venezuela are recognized as the largest in the world, totaling 297 billion barrels (4.72×1010 m3) as of 1 January 2014." and includes finds from relatively recent scientific research from the Orinoco Peninsula. Potential Venezuelan oil development, Orinoco Peninsula

As with all of its other misadventures in the 21st century, any US engineered/ attempted "regime change" will be about creating a more "US-Centric Government; controlling who buys the oil; and insure that it is sold only in US dollars.

With oil prices falling as dramatically as they have, in light of the reality that Venezuela's economy never diversified much from oil production, the country has suffered intensely economically, compounding the problems created by massive US sanctions against it.

Economic Sanctions as
Collective Punishment:The Case of Venezuela

So now, that the "CU-Cu KA'CHOO!" has failed, and I might add, miserably, what next for this hapless country, whose citizens are looking just to survive?!?

Regime change?!? An infusion of privately funded mercs, to destabilize it, as Erik Prince has pitched, so that Maduro is incapable of wielding any more political or economic authority?!?

And many times people hired by these "mercs for hire" groups, have had their conscience surgically removed, before signing up for such duties; they view their jobs as "kill first, ask questions later."

Are those the "moral optics" of this administration?!? Sorry, Mr. President: but after the continuing genocide with which the US is assisting Saudi Arabia in committing, I needed to ask.

That Elliott Abrams so catastrophically blinked and missed here, and was ultimately unable to make this happen, at the end of the day, should be reason enough for Trump sacking him immediately, although I would not bet that this will happen any time soon.

We have an interesting story, datelined today, as follows; US government still pondering military options in Venezuela

Mr. President, I would counsel extreme caution here; the world knows, full well, what the US government is up to.

This is not 1953, when the American government could destabilize the Iranian government, lie about it conveniently, and no one would really notice, except for those Iranians who got ground down to a pulp, and tortured by the Shah's Secret Service, SAVAK Origins: Iran's SAVAK.

Mr. President: I must strongly caution you: a military strike against Venezuela would be one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly idiotic things you could order do be done right now.

I am watching the FAUX crawl, and the title is "Chaos in Venezuela"; and yet, people seem to be crossing a bridge not with any discernible sense of urgency, which leads me to believe that there are more US military actions to come.

I understand that Venezuela's oil wealth is something which those in the Bowels of Power in DC would love to control; but the next time you set up a US "ringer" to challenge Maduro, make that person at least somewhat palatable to the people of Venezuela.

These people have a very strong sense of their history and their heritage; if there is a military decap strike against Caracas, the people are going to fight any invading army with their very lives.

And as a final caveat, President Trump; the US military tends to do quite a great deal better with operations in the desert, rather than in the jungle; and outside of Venezuela's main cities, you have a ton of jungle. Have someone you trust check it out for you, and crunch the numbers.

And BTW; you are welcome!!

‘Dystopian approach’: SEC gives blessing to MasterCard’s idea of cutting off right-wingers

Blocking payments to individuals or groups by financial service firms impedes freedom of speech in a free society, journalist Ben Swann has told RT, following reports that MasterCard is allegedly on course to censor the far-right.

The New York-based firm is reportedly being forced by left-leaning liberal activists to set up an internal “human rights committee” that would monitor payments to “white supremacist groups and anti-Islam activists.”

“The problem is that everyone has their own views and, in a free society, the idea of a free society is that you are free to have your belief systems, as long as you’re not harming anyone else physically,” Swann told RT America. “But your belief system belongs to you and you have the right be wrong. White supremacists have the right to be wrong.”

Conspiracy theorist claims police have visited him five times after Christchurch terror attack

Police appear to be paying close attention to "false flag" conspiracy theorists spreading bogus narratives about the Christchurch mosque shootings.

One Auckland man, who described the March 15 terror attack as a "state-sponsored false flag", said he had been visited by officers five times since the attack happened.

The man, who described himself as a journalist and online talk show host, said he was no threat.

But a professor of psychology said people spreading "counter-official" narratives could encourage others to violence.

Why Australians Should Fight To Bring Assange Home

Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via Medium.com,

Prominent Australian/British WikiLeaks activist Somerset Bean has launched a GoFundMe with the simple goal of circulating 1,000 giant posters throughout Australian cities in the lead-up to our May 18th elections calling for Julian Assange to be brought home. The posters urge Australians to contact their representatives and put political pressure on them to stand up for one of our nation’s best and brightest stars.

Bean writes the following:

The goal is to print and paste up a thousand of these #BringAssangeHome giant (A0 size) posters in prominent locations in Australian cities during May 2019.

With every $500 raised, another 100 posters can go up. We need to get printing and distributing right away to capitalise on the pre-election weeks.

Washington Warns Beijing: 'Paramilitary' Fishing Boats Will Now Be Treated Like Combatants

As the US continues its increasingly daring and extremely provocative "freedom of navigation" operations in the Strait of Taiwan and South China Sea, it's also growing more vocal about challenging China's increasingly expansionary military presence in the Pacific. Over the weekend, the US has warned Beijing that the US military would aggressively respond to provocative acts by China's coast guard and fishing boats in the same way it reacts to the Chinese navy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, why in the name of heaven, why are you being more brutally verbally aggressive than ever to Chinese leadership, when trade negotiations between China and the US are already on rocky ground?!?

IF there is a logical reason for this, I would certainly like to hear what the rationale is for this statement; otherwise, it appears like sheer madness, from a perspective of logic, reason, and the importance of "face", in Asian cultures.

Joint Russia-China Naval Drills Kick Off After 2 US Warships Enter Taiwan Strait

Early this week Chinese media confirmed that Russian warships arrived in Qingdao, a port city in East China's Shandong Province, at the start this week's join China-Russia naval exercises.

The Russian fleet included the Varyag guided missile cruiser, a submarine, two anti-submarine ships, a corvette, a landing ship, a tanker and a rescue vessel, according to China's Global Times.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, LORD, let nothing go wrong in any of these exercises, or from the two US carriers now passing off the coast of Taiwan.

As someone celebrating her 70th birthday next week, I have rarely seen a time in American history, where things just seem to be drifting towards a war, and possibly a global war at that.

It's kind of like that archetypal dream, about two trains, running head long , right at each other on the same track, and not being able to stop them.

What do I want of my government?!? That it actually does start indulging in moral, thoughtful, hard-won negotiations with China and Russia; you know, those kinds of actions which deepen confidence and trust?!?

I am absolutely sure that if I spoke Russian, or Cantonese, and could speak to mothers of kids who just got drafted into either country's military (or perhaps enlisted), they would be both very proud of their kids' participation in those armies, but would agree with me, that peace; the rule of law; commerce; and intelligent, thoughtful planning, need to reign in human society.

Otherwise, humankind may just blow itself to kingdom come, and leave a fractured, horrific planet in its wake, incapable of regrowth or rebirth.

Unfortunately, those in the Bowels of Power in DC, do not seem to understand this right now. And the only modalities they seem to believe will work, in a desperate attempt to stabilize the US economy, are to continue to expropriate resources to which they have no moral right, and insure that they are sold only in US dollars.

Their tools right now are are demonisation; destabilization; and wars to insure the "end game" winds up entirely positively for the US government.

But the problem with this attitude, which comes to us from the great Greek storytellers, is hubris; an over-arching pride which makes one believe that you can do anything you want, without any moral, or physical, repercussions happening at all.

Unfortunately, the real world does not ultimately work in this manner; there is a cost, or costs to specific actions and choice, which can be horrendous.

The casualty counts in current US declared, and undeclared wars, is staggering, both for the indigenous people who live there, and our troops.

And the broken lives, and bodies, again, of both the people we are bombing, and our troops, who wind up maimed for life, from these wars, suggest a better, more peace-centric process is desperately needed by the US government, and to work to stay away from wars as its "only solution" to geopolitical and economic challenges.

Swedish Anti-Extremism Tsar Allows Returning ISIS Fighters Re-Entry As "Caring Citizens"

Authored by Jon Hall via FMShooter.com

According to officials in Stockholm, Swedish residents have nothing to fear from Islamic State fighters returning from the Middle East to live peaceful, crime-free lives in Sweden.

Christina Kiernan, Stockholm’s anti-violent extremism coordinator, claimed that jihadists who returned from Syria and Iraq were living “orderly lives” following public outcry regarding the government’s decision not to strip people who fought in radical Islamic terror organizations of their Swedish passports.

Kiernan said on a television interview this week:

The IS returnees we have talked to so far have no known current crime, they have a job and an orderly life to the extent that we do not have knowledge of activities that can in any way scare anyone…

The television interviewer fired back:

So they are returning from this type of business and becoming caring, well-behaved citizens?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Kiernan has just become a major accessory to the coming cultural suicide in Sweden, as we have seen in so so many other countries, where Sharia law rapidly, and rabidly, replaces the existing Laws of the Land.

US Troops In Syria For "Long Haul" Atop "A Lot Of Oil Resources": Pentagon Official

A high level Pentagon official has admitted that US forces will be in Syria for "the long haul" and coupled his statement by declaring the territory contains “a lot of the oil resources and arable land.”

The unusually frank remarks were made this week by Michael Mulroy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East, while addressing a conference at the D.C. based Center for a New American Security (CNAS), months after President Trump appeared to have caved to his advisers, reversing course earlier this year from his stated goal of a full and rapid US troop exit from Syria.

Mulroy said “we have a very capable partner” — in reference to the primarily Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) — and quickly noted the US-trained SDF happens to occupy key regions in eastern Syria with "a lot of the oil resources and arable land," and added that, "we are there with them".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Wait a minute; the US military is actually occupying over 1/3rd of the sovereign country of Syria?!?

The question that the Pentagon, State Department, and the Executive Office need to ask, is, how long will it be, before Russian forces, carrying out Putin's orders, drive them out?!?

If I were a Federal official, this would be the question that would be keeping me up at night.

"Workarounds" Galore: How Real Americans Deal With "Real" Inflation

‘Workarounds’ galore: How real Americans deal with ‘real’ inflation By Bill Rice, Jr.
While working on a story on inflation and shrinkflation, I quickly zeroed in on the concept of “workarounds” as an alternative, perhaps superior, way to gauge the true state of our economy. I define workarounds as the changes individuals or families (or businesses) must make in their daily living to adapt to a world of rising prices. If nothing else, these examples, taken in the aggregate, challenge the conventional wisdom that inflation is “low” or “contained,” or that the economy is just fine, thank you.

As decades have passed, the list of workarounds families have utilized to deal with rising prices has rapidly grown.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Have you and your family been dealing with this?!?

I sure know that our "little family of 2" sure has!!

In fact, we discovered a "big box" store not far from here last weekend, and did some substantial savings ourselves.

Assange Sentenced To 50 Weeks In UK Prison For Skipping Bail

Julian Assange has been sentenced to 50 weeks in a UK prison - close to the maximum sentence - for skipping bail in 2012 to seek refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy, setting off a seven-year showdown with UK law enforcement and the US that ended with his arrest earlier this month, WSJ reports.

Judge Deborah Taylor said during the sentencing that it would be difficult to find a more serious example of the offense.

Mark Simmons, who represented Assange on Wednesday, said the WikiLeaks founder skipped bail and sought refuge in the embassy because he was afraid of being renditioned to the US from Sweden.

After arriving at the Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday, Assange defiantly raised his fist to rally his supporters. A judge declared during an earlier hearing that Assange's case could warrant the maximum sentence after he was found guilty shortly after his arrest.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, I don't think we will see Assange out of this prison (known as the UK's Gitmo) for an extradition hearing.

The Powers that Be in the US, on both sides of the aisle, want this guy dead, and would love nothing better than to see him assassinated before an extradition hearing can even be placed on the Federal Calendar; something I am very certain MI5 or MI6 could easily arrange, with a little "quid pro quo" from their "American cousins".

$1 Billion In Iranian Crude Is Stranded At A Chinese Port

It's no secret that Beijing has chafed at American audacity to try and dictate whom Chinese refineries can and can't buy oil from. And in the latest example of just how aggravating the decision to end waivers for Iranian crude imports has been for the world's second-largest economy, Reuters reported that some 20 million barrels of Iranian crude have been languishing at the northeastern port of Dalian for months, but because of the US's decision to re-impose sanctions on Iran back in November, nobody wants to touch the oil.

China filed a formal complaint with the US over its decision to end the waivers, but the US has refused to consider any exceptions to its plans to reimpose full sanctions.

As one analyst told Reuters, no Chinese company will touch the oil unless specifically instructed to do so by the Chinese government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And one has to wonder; precisely when the Chinese government will give its order to move this oil,and what the ramifications are going to be.

Will the US government interdict the ship, and possibly start World War III with China?!?

Of almost every possible outcome here, this would be one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid decisions the Trump administration could make at this point.

Unfortunately, just because something would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly idiotic decision this administration could make, is no guarantee that it will not do so.

Ron Paul Warns: "Hapless" Guaido Now "Worth More Dead Than Alive" To Washington's Venezuelan Coup-Creators

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido failed to kick-start a military uprising on Tuesday. After this fizzle, RT reports that his life may be in danger from his own CIA backers, the director of the Ron Paul Institute argued in a debate.

Daniel McAdams and Ron Paul, the former libertarian representative from Texas, discussed the repeated attempts by Guaido to oust Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro with the backing from the US government. Despite all the efforts, Maduro remains in power, supported by many Venezuelans and in control of its military and police forces.

Paul said he was concerned that the Latin American country may be plunged into large-scale violence by some provocation.

“The big danger is a hard war breaking out. I’d still bet it won’t be too bad, with thousands of troops moving. But it could be a guerrilla war or something like that. If there is a false flag or some important official on either side gets killed, you can’t tell what might happen,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yes... but desperation on the cusp of madness.

With Russian troops having been on Venezuelan soil for some time, now, what is the plan?!? War with Russia over Venezuela (over control of its vast oil reserves?!?)

Faux is showing, live, the hearings on the Barr report this morning, with nary a word about Venezuela. It's about the bottom of the hour here, so I will be curious if it actually gets any air time at all this morning. OK, I watched this from the bottom half of the hour; and still no word on Venezuela. They are going right back, top of the hour, to The Barr Hearings.

The only comment from Regime Changer in Chief, Elliott Abrams yesterday, was as follows:

U.S. envoy says top Venezuelan officials negotiated to help restore order Elliott Abrams went on to state that:

"U.S. envoy for Venezuela Elliott Abrams said on Tuesday opposition-led protests in Caracas were part of a broader effort negotiated with three senior officials in President Nicolas Maduro’s government to restore constitutional order.

Abrams, speaking to reporters at the State Department, said the talks involved Venezuela’s Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino, Supreme Court chief justice Maikel Moreno and presidential guard commander Ivan Rafael Hernandez Dela about restoring democracy in the country.

“There have been some interesting negotiations among Venezuelans inside the regime and outside the regime about returning to the constitution,” Abrams said. “They negotiated for a long time the means of restoring democracy but it seems that today they are not going forward,” he added."

So I have to wonder, since names were named in this article, whether those three actually did communicate with Abrams... or did not.

And notice how Abrams is shifting gears wildly, by throwing the lack of success of the coup, on these Venezuelans, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino, Supreme Court chief justice Maikel Moreno and presidential guard commander Ivan Rafael Hernandez Dela rather than upon himself, and the Those in the Bowels of Power in DC who concocted this poison stew of lies?!?

Guaido is now what those with a little bit of intelligence business savvy, understand to be a "live liability" for the CIA/FBI/and whatever other intel ops who convinced President Trump that this could actually work.

And as for Abrams, he has just handed President Trump his very own "Bay of Pigs" debacle here, in attempting to foment "regime change" with a population which would not have it, and have chosen to stay loyal to Maduro.

And as for Abram's future in regime change, I think that, unless he had intense "defense in depth" planning, and was placing those into effect, if this went "mammary glands vertical" a plan B, C, D, E, and F, he is going to be handed his hat by Trump, who is going to look for someone who can actually do what Abrams told him he could do.

Who knows, maybe Erik Prince's timing was perfect for getting back in good graces with the White House when he pitched sending his own mercs into Venezuela, to destabilize it to the point of regime change?!?

And I have to suspect, by his rantings and ravings, both in public and on Twitter, that President Trump had his book "The Art of the Deal" completely ghostwritten, as I see zero signs of true negotiations, in either his personality, or his decision making, which, at the moment, can be described as both utter chaos, and no closer to achieving a stable, peaceful world than when he came into office.

To say this is a profound disappointment for many of us, who at the beginning of his campaign, really believed that he just might be able to pull this off, is akin to saying "the SS Titanic took on a little ice,and ultimately became the "US Trumptanic"

And the real question Americans need to ask, is why, at the end of the day, are our Presidential candidates so lousy?!? The answer is, because by the time they are "thrown at the Public", in many large, theatrical Kabuki-style events, they have had to be vetted by the Deep State; the Military Industrial Complex; and the corporations who contribute to both parties luxuriously to make sure that nothing changes in the ways they do business.

And here's companion piece, courtesy of Zero Hedge, and we ALL could see this coming: Maduro declares victory over attempted coup,, followed by the following: "Update (7:16 am ET): Here we go again...

Now that the monthslong simmering rebellion against Maduro has exploded into a full-fledged uprising - one that's in danger of being brutally suppressed by the Maduro regime - it's time for the US to revive its threats of military intervention with the added subtext of 'this time, we mean it'.

After footage from yesterday's riots showed regime tanks brutally crushing opposition supporters, Mike Pompeo appeared on Fox Business this morning and said that the US hasn't ruled out military intervention.

U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE POMPEO SAYS MILITARY ACTION IN VENEZUELA IS POSSIBLE 'IF THAT'S WHAT'S REQUIRED', WOULD PREFER PEACEFUL TRANSITION -FOX BUSINESS INTERVIEW
His comments come as supporters of the regime and opposition prepare to take to the streets for another wave of massive demonstrations on Wednesday."

IF Pompeo doesn't understand that this "regime change" movement lost its window yesterday, he doesn't deserve to be Secretary of State, period, end of discussion.

Watch Live: Mueller Told Barr Press Reporting On Letter Was 'Inaccurate'

Update 2: In his opening statement, Barr told Congress that he had spoken to Mueller and that the special counsel said press reporting on the letter that the special counsel had written to Barr complaining about certain aspects of Barr's summary was inaccurate.

BARR SAYS MUELLER SAID PRESS REPORTING ON LETTER WAS INACCURATE
BARR SAYS MUELLER DIDN'T SAY DOJ MISREPRESENTED HIS REPORT
Barr added that he was 'surprised' when Mueller didn't rule on obstruction, though he also told said that Comey's firing didn't amount to obstruction of justice: Comey's refusal to tell public what he was telling the president warranted firing.

During his questioning by Feinstein, which focused on what Trump told former White House counsel Donald McGahn II, Barr more than held his own, arguing that it would be impossible to prove the president ever actually directed the firing of Mueller, and it would also be difficult to show corrupt intent beyond a reasonable doubt.

Time to Foreclose on the Churchill Cult

As First Lord of the Admiralty [during the First World War], he imposed on Imperial Germany a starvation blockade that resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths. This blockade wasn't lifted until several months after the hostilities had ended. In the Second World War Churchill supported the terror bombing of German cities, at a time when these population centers could no longer defend themselves and when the war was all but lost ... At Yalta the prime minister worked to preserve the British Empire by shamelessly praising Stalin and the Soviet Empire ... Throughout his life, he stood for the British Empire, British independence, and an "anti-socialist vision of England." In the end, Churchill watched all three vanish.

COMING TO AMERICA: THE COMPLETE DE-PLATFORMING OF ALL VOICES THAT DON’T WORSHIP DEMOCRATS

This article was originally published by JD Heyes at Natural News.

The Democrat Party has joined the globalist Left in their quest to wipe out all remaining bastions of freedom and liberty throughout the West which, if they are successful, will plunge the world into chaos, war, and destruction.

In Europe, freedom fighters like Tommy Robinson and Carl Benjamin are fighting Leftists in Britain and throughout the European Union as they attempt to build political opposition to what is very obviously an anti-libertarian and anti-democratic campaign of suppression and censorship.

Robinson, demonized by the European Left as a “far-right extremist” who has been attempting to speak the truth about the virtual invasion of anti-Western Muslim “refugees” from war-torn segments of the Middle East, was jailed in 2018 for essentially expressing his views.

Police Arrive at Venezuelan Embassy in Washington With Handcuffs, Block Entrance

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - US law enforcement officials blocked off the entrance of the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington on Tuesday amid ongoing protests over the handling of the crisis in the Latin American country, a Sputnik correspondent reported from the embassy.

About 30 policemen with handcuffs arrived at the Venezuelan Embassy, which has been occupied by activists for more than two weeks, blocking the entrance from 30th Street.

The goal of the protesters is to prevent US-backed opposition figure Juan Guaido and his so-called government from taking possession of the building.

he situation in front of the embassy has been exacerbated amid tensions in the Venezuelan capital Caracas, where Juan Guaido released a video on Tuesday morning with a call on the country's military to join in the final stage of his so-called "Operation Freedom" from the La Carlota military base with the goal of ending the “usurpation of power” by President Maduro.

US Navy Sailors Told to Clap Like They’re ‘at a Strip Club’ for Pence - Reporter

Before US Vice President Mike Pence took the podium to address the sailors of the USS Harry S. Truman Tuesday, the members of the armed forces were reportedly given particularly puzzling instruction on how to welcome the VP.

On Tuesday afternoon, Pence traveled to Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia, to deliver a message from US President Donald Trump while also recognizing the 2,000-plus missions the USS Harry S. Truman and its 7,500 sailors have been a part of in the past year.

The vice president, via Twitter following his address, particularly applauded the the Truman Carrier Strike Group's "essential part" in crippling Daesh.

Prior to Pence's speech, however, it was an order regarding service members' applause that took Twitter by storm.

According to WTKR-TV reporter Brendan Ponton, US Navy sailors toward the rear of the address were given a particular set of instructions in clapping for the veep.

Bolton: All Options Are on the Table Regarding Venezuela

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said earlier in the day that the United States had signed off on an attempted coup in Venezuela by calling on the country's armed forces to support the opposition parliament.

During a speech at the White House, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said that all options were on the table regarding the current situation in Venezuela.

"We want as our principal objective a peaceful transfer of power," Bolton said. "But I will say again: [Venezuela's President] Nicolas Maduro and those supporting him, particularly those who are not Venezuelans, should know that all options are on the table."

Webmaster's Commentary:

NO, Security Advisor Bolton, you do not care about a "a peaceful transfer of power;" what you care about is getting those oil reserves in Venezuela under American control, and selling them only for the American dollar.

LIVE UPDATES: Situation in Venezuela as Guaido Calls on Troops to Oust Maduro

Venezuelan opposition leader and self-proclaimed Interim president of the country, Juan Guaido, published a video in which he urged soldiers to join protests against President Nicolas Maduro in order to oust him.

The footage shows Guaido, surrounded by people in military uniform, claiming that he has already received the support of the Venezuelan Army, going on to call for the "final phase" of the protests. The politician stressed that the people of Venezuela would be fighting "in a nonviolent struggle" to "assume [the] competencies of the government"

A New Mega Cartel Is Emerging In Oil Markets

china and India—two of the world’s largest oil importers and the biggest demand growth centers globally—are close to setting up an oil buyers’ club to have a say in the pricing and sourcing of crude oil amid OPEC’s cuts and U.S. sanctions on Iran and Venezuela, Indian outlet livemint reports, citing three officials with knowledge of the talks.

This is not the first time that the two major oil importers are working to create such an oil club.

India and China have discussed creating an ‘oil buyers’ club’ to be able to negotiate better prices with oil exporting countries and will be looking to import more U.S. crude oil in order to reduce OPEC’s sway, both over the global oil market and over prices, India’s Petroleum Ministry said in June 2018.

5 Reasons To Be Concerned That The Federal Government Will Borrow $990 Billion This Year

Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com

No one seems to care that a government already over $22 trillion in debt is on schedule to borrow another $990 million this year. All of this is occurring as individual Americans further enslave themselves with higher debt loads and retail stores fail over the inability to pay back the money they borrowed. But there are many reasons to be concerned about government spending.

The debt-based system we live under won’t sustain itself forever. Don’t get us wrong, the sociopaths in government and at the Federal Reserve (central bankers) will prop it up for as long as possible, but it is doomed to fail. That $22 trillion doesn’t include unfunded liabilities either, making the situation even uglier.

The next bombshell report to drop from the Justice Department likely will earn none of the breathless fanfare and media coverage that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report received, but it could be far more incriminating.

In the next several weeks, Inspector General Michael Horowitz is expected to issue his summation of the potential abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by top officials in the Obama Administration and holdovers in the early Trump Administration who were overseeing the investigation of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

And the perpetrators of the so-called FISAgate scandal now are scrambling for cover as the bad news looms.

Venezuela Coup? "Live Fire" Exchanged Outside Contested Air Base, Armored Car Plows Into Protesters

update 5: As predicted, what Guaido dubbed “Operation Liberty” — a full on coup attempt for which he appealed for Venezuela's military to rise up against Maduro — appears to have failed to achieve significant momentum, given Caracas officials are taking to the air waves to declare the "mediocre" coup attempt successfully put down.

“A mediocre coup d'etat attempt has failed,” said defense minister Vladimir Padrino on a state radio broadcast Tuesday afternoon, following prior statements saying he was ready put down the rebellion by force. And in a television appearance Padrino further called the day's events "ridiculous".

Meanwhile national security advisor John Bolton has stated this is "not a coup" given that the US already sees opposition leader Juan Guaido as the country's president. Bolton said of the rapidly unfolding and increasingly violent events that "it is not a coup for Juan Guaido to try and take command of the Venezuelan military."

Donald J. Trump
?

Webmaster's Commentary:

No, Mr. President: this country does NOT stand for the Freedom of the Venezuelan people; it stands for controlling their massive oil reserves, and insuring that Venezuela's oil will only be sold for US dollars.

I have heard the soundbite "Everything is on the table", floated as a description of further potential ways for the US to get Maduro out of power, whatever they may be.

War against Venezuela for its oil?!?

Right now, I would not bet against it.

But were I in the Pentagon "war room", I would have to ask; "If we invade, what will Russia, which already has troops in position, decide to do?"

This could get ugly, quickly, and in ways for which the US government perhaps has not either thought through, or didn't consider: and that, folks, is what concerns me most.

The War on Syria Continues. Iran Is Next?

The war on Syria is not over. Western -supported terrorists still occupy Idlib, as well as al Tanif, and strategic resource-rich areas East of the Euphrates. The Al- Rukban concentration camp[1] still holds about 40,000 desperate and dying captives, and the Al-Hawl camp[2] holds 73,000 captives.

The West’s terrorists are expendable, but the West supports them all, including al Qaeda, ISIS, and the YPG/SDF terrorists.

Under the familiar pretense of “going after ISIS”, the Western coalition carpet bombed Raqqa, shipped ISIS out, and re-occupied the ruins with SDF proxies – occupiers posing as liberators.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am hoping and praying that the US, and Israeli governments , will not be so stupid as to believe, for one second, that they can conquer Iran, either militarily, or with some form of regime change.

If Russia thinks, for one second, that Iran is headed toward a crisis, my bet would be under threat from harm, they may immediately start propping up Iran with their own military and weaponry.

As we have seen from incredible performances by Russian military and their weaponry in Syria, the Russians have both the person-power,and weapons, to keep the Israelis and US forces at bay.

Blame Palestinians for GazaIsrael is the perpetual victim

If you have read a recent New York Times op-ed entitled “Care about Gaza? Blame Hamas” written by none other than the White House “special representative for international negotiations” Jason Greenblatt you would understand that the misery being experienced by Palestinians in Gaza is all their own fault. Greenblatt, who is Jewish of the Orthodox persuasion, just happens to be a strong supporter of Israel’s settlements, which he claims are “not an obstacle to peace.” He is very upset because some naysayers are actually putting some of the blame for the human catastrophe in Gaza on Israel, which we Americans all know is our best friend in the whole world and our most loyal ally. If that were not so, the New York Times and those fine people in Congress and the White House would surely inform us otherwise. And anyway, what are a few lies and war crimes between friends?

Webmaster's Commentary:

What Kushner and Greenblatt are pathologically incapable of realizing, (or just flat don't want to), is that for the Palestinians, this is not an issue about money; it is an issue of homeland, where generations of their ancestors once lived.

And money... even as attractively as I am sure the White House and Tel Aviv are spinning this proposal...is no compensation for Palestinians who cannot forget their history, or their homelands.

Pompeo: Helping Saudis Attack Yemen Is In America’s Best Interests

With the Senate planning this week to “process” President Trump’s veto of the War Powers Act challenge to the Yemen War, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took the reins to try to defend US involvement in Yemen as in America’s best interest.

Pompeo’s argument centered on the idea that the US was obliged to help Saudi Arabia defend itself from retaliatory fights, now that the Saudis had launched a war and provoked that retaliation.

On top of that poor argument for an obligation, Pompeo relied on what the administration seems to believe is the most compelling argument, even if it is wholly based on a lie. He argued that the whole war was Iran’s fault, and not intervening would make Iran happy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Instead of Secretary of State, Pompeo is actually the US Government's Secretary For Fact-Free Churlish Propaganda or (SFFFCP, for short).

And this guy blames Iran for this senseless, horrific war, where everything the Saudis are doing are war crimes, which the US military and Executive Branches of the US have enabled?!? And no serious commenters on the situation have ever stated that a military victory was possible for the Saudis?!?

And this man was whore enough for the military industrial Complex, that he has lied to Congress about the real use of Saudi Purchased weapons, last September?!?
Pompeo lied to Congress about Yemen to protect arms sales

Congress; please be aware; he lied to you before, to let those weaons sales go through back in September; he is lying to you right now about the "reason" we must keep being complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

Where in the name of heaven, does Donald Trump find such rapacious bottom feeders, as Bolton and Pompeo?!?

The truth is, it's easy in DC.

Just look for those with a proven track record on their willingness to lie about any country's leadership, to cause the US to go to war against it for those resources, and to conquer other countries which are blessed with intense national resources, as is happening in the Middle East with Iran; in South America, with Venezuela; and in Africa, which also has an abundance of natural resources. The US (sometimes) gets what it wants, and insures that whatever those resources are, that they are only sold in American dollars.

Then, think about the money your government paid to unseat the legally elected President of Ukraine, Yanukovytch; that was 5 billion dollars, US, folks, in 2014 United States spent 5 billion for regime change in Ukraine

Now think about how much more the US government would spend to conquer Iran and/or Venezuela, if they thought they had the best chances for regime change in those countries?!? And how many more American service members will have to die, or be maimed for life, for a potential positive outcome for the US?!?

Venezuela ... has done absolutely nothing to us, and neither has Yemen; Iran makes noises about doing something, but must likely will not do anything against the United States, particularly with Putin advising President Hassan Rouhani on international affairs.

Protesters are run over by Maduro's armored vehicles as gunfire breaks out, sending civilians running for cover after Juan Guaido calls for military uprising, sparking clashes with pro-regime troops

Juan Guaido called for uprising against Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday from the La Carlota airbase in Caracas
Guaido made the announcement surrounded by troops who then began setting up a defensive perimeter
Maduro's forces fired tear gas before a heavy exchange of gunfire, with protesters caught in the middle
US, which backs Guaido, said President was aware while Putin, backing Maduro, was in talks with top officials.

Video footage has emerged showing President Nicolas Maduro's troops running over anti-government protesters during clashes with the Venezuelan National Guard.

Armoured vehicles operated by soldiers loyal to the besieged president were seen ploughing into demonstrators in front of La Carlota base in Caracas.

Heavy gunfire crackled through the Venezuelan capital on Tuesday after opposition leader Juan Guaido called for a military uprising to oust President Maduro.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember, as all of the presstitutes have been given their orders to present this to the public as a "completely indigenous protest", when it has all the earmarks of a US-led psych-ops.

Juan Guaido, Designated US puppet in Venezuela
The Making of Juan Guaido: how the US "Regime change" Laboratory created Venezuela coup leader

The article goes on to state: "Before the fateful day of January 22, fewer than one in five Venezuelans had heard of Juan Guaidó. Only a few months ago, the 35-year-old was an obscure character in a politically marginal far-right group closely associated with gruesome acts of street violence. Even in his own party, Guaidó had been a mid-level figure in the opposition-dominated National Assembly, which is now held under contempt according to Venezuela’s constitution.

But after a single phone call from US Vice President Mike Pence, Guaidó proclaimed himself as president of Venezuela. Anointed as the leader of his country by Washington, a previously unknown political bottom dweller was vaulted onto the international stage as the US-selected leader of the nation with the world’s largest oil reserves."

Echoing the Washington consensus, the New York Times editorial board hailed Guaidó as a “credible rival” to Maduro with a “refreshing style and vision of taking the country forward.” The Bloomberg News editorial board applauded him for seeking “restoration of democracy” and the Wall Street Journal declared him “a new democratic leader.” Meanwhile, Canada, numerous European nations, Israel, and the bloc of right-wing Latin American governments known as the Lima Group recognized Guaidó as the legitimate leader of Venezuela"

So, that is what we have here in Guaido; a guy schooled in "regime change", just so those in the bowels of DC ultimately control Venezuela's oil, and the method of payment for that oil, if in fact, this "Cu Cu KaCHOO" is successful.

But please remember the following; Russia has troops on the ground in Venezuela; the US came with too little too late, to prevent them from being there, at Maduro's invitation. So one has to wonder, just what their orders are?!? To keep Maduro and his family safe at all costs, and at all times??!?

One of DC's "supremely self-reinventing lower-octave bottom feeders", John Bolton, has made his statement today, that the Venezuelan people, and its military, "had" to back Guaido, and by doing that, will preserve the Venezuelan Constitution; Bollix and Codswallop, I say!!

This is about the money, and about the oil, in one of the world's most sublimely gifted countries when it comes to reserves. As Google states, "The proven oil reserves in Venezuela are recognized as the largest in the world, totaling 297 billion barrels (4.72×1010 m3) as of 1 January 2014."

Remember how Victoria Nuland bragged about how much money the US spent to get "regime change" in Ukraine?!? United States spent 5 billion dollars to achieve "Regime Change" in Ukraine which, ultimately, proved a stupid thing for it to have done, given the performance of their "anointed Savoir", Poroshenko, in the last election, where he got professionally "creamed" by a Comedian, who just won the Ukrainian election by a huge majority.Volodymyr Zelenskiy wins Ukrainian election by a landslide

How much do you think the US government is willing to spend on "regime change" in Venezuela, to get its hands around that oil?!? Many, many more billions, friends; while our Vets sleep rough in our streets, and US infrastructure is crumbling around us?

Remember; American political system is solely driven by its members' lust for money, to be made off the backs of American working people, or conquering other countries; the situation unfolding in Venezuela proves the truth of that last statement.

WITH GUN BAN NOT WORKING, POLITICIANS IN BRITAIN NOW WANT TO BAN KNIVES NATIONWIDE

If ever we needed proof of the expression that "guns don’t kill people, people kill people" look no further than Britain, where families may have to start practicing cutting their steak and bread at dinner with a spoon. This is, of course, because Britain's politicians have now made the absurdly ridiculous move to call for the banning of what Reason magazine called "the most useful tool ever invented" - the knife.

Reason reported this morning that British politicians have "declared war on knives" and are moving swiftly to try and ban them, since gun laws aren't working to help stop crime altogether:

Having failed to disarm criminals with gun controls that they defy, British politicians are now turning their attention to implementing something new and different: knife control. Because criminals will be much more respectful of knife laws than of those targeted at firearms, I guess.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am thoroughly reminded of Ron White's line about "You can't fix stupid", which is the way the British Government is trying to handle this issue.

So, soon in the UK, will Chefs' carving knives have to come with a permit?!?

One might imagine so.

Will there be "instructional videos on "how to carve meat with a plastic spoon?!? One might imagine that as well.

And will grocery stores only be allowed to send meat ground, even lamb chops and spare ribs?!?

Right now, in the UK, I wouldn't bet against it.

London's Mayor Sadiq Khan, has been such an horrendous disappointment to the British people, that if he stands again for election in this capacity, I would almost bet on a Conservative candidate trouncing on him, and winning handily.

BOEING CHANGES ITS STORY, ADMITS 'SOFTWARE GLITCH' DISABLED CRITICAL ALERTS ON 737 MAX

In a clarification that only created more confusion, Boeing said Monday that an alert intended to notify pilots when the plane might be receiving erroneous data from one of the 737 MAX 8's 'angle of attack' sensors wasn't disabled intentionally, as WSJ reported on Sunday, but that the feature had been disabled because of a previously undisclosed software glitch.

What's confusing is that Boeing had confirmed WSJ's story that the aerospace company had neglected to tell the FAA and Southwest, the biggest customer for the 737 MAX 8, that the alert feature had been disabled because it had been made a new 'optional' safety feature. The alerts would have warned pilots that the plane's MCAS system might be about to misfire.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This admission may well put Boeing into bankruptcy, for their software engineers to make such a completely bone-headed decision, and have it be completely supported by upper management.

Of course, the monied rarely eat their own, so when this issue goes to trial, it will probably result in a " money junkie slap on the wrist" for their chief executives.

REDUCTION OF GAZA FISHING ZONE AN 'ILLEGAL COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT'

A decision by the Israeli military to scale down the permitted fishing zone in the besieged Gaza Strip comes as "no surprise" to the enclave's 4,000 fishermen.

"The decision did not come as a surprise. The occupation always backs down from agreements that affect fishermen in the strip," Zakaria Bakr, head of Gaza's fishermen's union, told Al Jazeera.

Citing an alleged rocket attack, the Israeli army said on Tuesday fishing in Gaza would only be permitted up to six nautical miles (11km) until further notice.

The move came after Israel extended the zone to a maximum of 15 nautical miles on April 1 as part of an Egypt-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, the group that governs the Gaza Strip.

The decision was in response to a rocket fired by the Islamic Jihad group late on Monday, the Israeli army said in a statement on Tuesday, an allegation the Palestinian group denies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel doesn't want to be seen as a killer of Palestinians, one by one, as the optics of such an act would be frightful; but having Palestinians slowly starving in Gaza, quietly, because of this restriction?!?

Now, THAT is something the Knesset can really get behind!!!!!

CALIFORNIA TAP WATER COULD BE SOURCE OF THOUSANDS OF NEW CANCER CASES – STUDY

An alarming new study has found that drinking tap water in California over a lifetime could significantly increase your risk of developing cancer, and may have already contributed to more than 15,500 cases.
The state’s drinking water is contaminated with chemicals like arsenic, hexavalent chromium and radioactive elements such as uranium and radium, according to researchers at the Environmental Working Group (EWG) who published their findings in the journal Environmental Health on Tuesday.

The team tested 2,737 different public water systems across California as part of their research, which served 98 percent of the state’s population. The researchers then calculated the cancer risk by establishing the average contaminant levels between 2011 to 2015, and adding them together to create a lifetime risk.

BOLTON CALLS ON VENEZUELAN MILITARY TO ‘PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION’ BY BACKING GUAIDO COUP ATTEMPT

US National Security Advisor John Bolton called on Venezuela’s military to side with Washington protégé Juan Guaido, after the opposition leader declared a military coup in Caracas on Tuesday.
Bolton, one of the leading US figures in the operation to topple the Venezuelan government, called on Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino to side with Guaido, claiming this would protect Venezuela’s constitution.

.@vladimirpadrino: The FANB must protect the Constitution and the Venezuelan people. It should stand by the National Assembly and the legitimate institutions against the usurpation of democracy. The United States stands with the people of Venezuela.

— John Bolton (@AmbJohnBolton) April 30, 2019
Padrino earlier rejected Guaido as a traitor and said on Twitter that the national armed forces (FANB) were loyal to the legitimate President Nicolas Maduro.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The whole world knows what the US wants out of this; massive access to Venezuela's oil reserves, particularly those found in the Orinoco coastal planes.Venezuelan oil reserves in the Orinoco peninsula

And Mr. Bolton, just stop talking, please; your opening your mouth and attempting to justify this coup, is so rottenly hypocritical, that it is making a huge number of Americans collectively nauseous, right before breakfast.

This is NOT about protecting the Venezuela Constitution, and you know it damned well.

It is about access to, control of, and making sure that Venezuela's oil reserves are only sold in American dollars.

Do you really think that you can continue to lie to the American people, and get away with it, after Bush's debacle on "Saddam's nuclear weapons of mass destruction"?!??

Wrong is what most of thinking people in this country understand you to be, on nearly every foreign policy decision you make; but wrong, AND colossally stupid at the same time, sir?

THAT... is a bridge too far, Mr. Bolton.

And BTW, just what are the orders of the Russian troops, already in Venezuela?!?Perhaps, to protect President Maduro from harm at all times?!?

You, sir, have, almost single-handedly, have created a trap for American military either already in Venezuela, or positioned to go, at a moment's
notice; this will be a war of attrition in an environment where the American military historically doesn't do anywhere near as well as they do in a desert environment.

Congratulations, for creating the 21st century's Vietnam, Mr. Bolton; you must be, as always, amply proud of yourself for these decisions, leading the US to the brink of war in Venezuela, and potentially Russia.

'VERY FAST TO SHOOT': 911 CALL AFTER OFFICER AMBER GUYGER KILLED BOTHAM JEAN HAS BEEN LEAKED

Dallas, TX — It has been months since off-duty Dallas police officer Amber Guyger walked into the apartment of Botham Jean and killed him. Since then, police have refused to release any pertinent details in regards to the case, including the 911 call made by Guyger after she killed Jean. However, WFAA news was somehow able to obtain a copy of that recording and it is now public.

For the first time, the entire 911 call has been published online. Up until now, only police have had access to it. Not even Jean’s family has been allowed to hear it.

As TFTP reported, Amber Guyger was off duty but still in uniform when she entered Botham Jean’s apartment and shot him in cold blood. She claims she accidentally went into the wrong apartment and thought she saw an intruder. However, the attorney for the Jean family — after listening to the 911 recording — pointed out how fast she shot Jean after entering, claiming she didn’t have time to even question the “intruder.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Being off-duty did not bar this officer from shooting an innocent man here, and not even in her own apartment; my sympathies are with Botham Jean's families, and I hope that the individual judgement goes to that family, and that the police department gets hammered for a very large settlement, even though money can never compensate for losing a loved one.

Because until police departments all over this country start training their officers in "reasonable restraint", incidents like this are going to continue to occur.

Here on Oahu, we are blessed that our police are reasonable and polite, and do not frequently make this kind of horrific blunder, which resolves in death.

New York Times apologizes again for 'offensive' Trump, Netanyahu cartoon that 'included anti-Semitic tropes'

View image on Twitter

New York Times Opinion

We apologize for the anti-Semitic cartoon we published. Here’s our statement.

"We are deeply sorry for the publication of an anti-Semitic political cartoon last Thursday in the print edition of The New York Times that circulates outside of the United States, and we are committed to making sure nothing like this happens again," the opinion section tweeted Sunday.

"Such imagery is always dangerous, and at a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise worldwide, it's all the more unacceptable," continued the apology, which was widely shared on Twitter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the editorial staff of the NYT:

Dear all; yes, I understand why you apologised.

But having said that, is there any place at your table, where one can objectively talk about what is really happening between the US and Israel, under President Trump's watch, where sheer logic could never be construed as being "anti-Semitic?!?

Fact: Israel is the largest recipient of US foreign aid.

US Foreign Aid to Israel

the article goes on to state:

This report provides an overview of U.S. foreign assistance to Israel. It includes a review of past
aid programs, data on annual assistance, and analysis of current issues. For general information
on Israel, see CRS Report RL33476, Israel: Background and U.S. Relations, by Jim Zanotti.
Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II. To date,
the United States has provided Israel $134.7 billion (current, or noninflation-adjusted, dollars) in
bilateral assistance and missile defense funding. Almost all U.S. bilateral aid to Israel is in the
form of military assistance, although in the past Israel also received significant economic
assistance.
At a signing ceremony at the State Department on September 14, 2016, representatives of the
U.S. and Israeli governments signed a new 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on
military aid covering FY2019 to FY2028. Under the terms of the MOU, the United States pledges
to provide $38 billion in military aid ($33 billion in Foreign Military Financing grants plus
$5 billion in missile defense appropriations) to Israel. This MOU replaces a previous $30 billion
10-year agreement, which runs through FY2018.
Israel is the first international operator of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Department of
Defense’s fifth-generation stealth aircraft, considered to be the most technologically advanced
fighter jet ever made. To date, Israel has purchased 50 F-35s in three separate contracts.

With all that money spent, one would think that Israel would be doing everything possible to keep relationships with its neighboring countries stable, and at least, show a little bit of gratitude in that manner to the US government.

Fact: Israel has a real difficulty with "getting along" with most of its neighbors, particularly if they have oil (like Iran), or water(as does Lebanon), and its politicians are consistently screaming at the US to "do something" about their allegedly impossible neighbors, before they "go it alone." (which will only happen when pigs discover they are aerodynamic).

Fact: when Sheldon Adelson gave President Trump all those millions to get elected Adelson reportedly watch the election with Trump, President Trump understood what the quid pro quo was; to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel (which he did), and second, create a "Middle East Deal" which offered no "right of return" for the Palestinians. The first demand, Netanyahu got; and our current understanding is that Jared Kushner, Trump's son in law, is working on that "deal" for mid-East Peace.

Fact: were I living in Iran right now, I would be very nervous, as President Trump has declared "no waivers" would continue past 2 May for countries which had been buying Iranian oil, in order to attempt to destroy Iran's economy. This includes China, and all the other countries which may not pay attention to Trump's demand. We now have two US carriers in the Mediterranean Sea, allegedly to insure Russia "gets the message" of "no interference" 2 US Navy aircraft carriers are making a statement in the Mediterranean Sea.Color me very nervous about what lengths the US is willing to go, to make that happen.

Fact: if I lived in Syria right now, I would be more than a little bit nervous, because the White House and Pentagon have decided to leave troops here, and there is no definitive pullout schedule which has been released. US keeping +/- 200 troops in Syria.Thinking people have to ask, "Why?!? IS there going to be an attempted "de-cap strike" against Damascus, understanding that Russia's Putin has given Al Assad all the military "muscle power" it needed to have substantially, and pretty successfully, beaten back the (US Trained & funded) jihadis?!?

Fact: were I a Gazan Palestinian right now, I would be very nervous about the lengths Israel is willing to go, to achieve a complete exodus of the Palestinian people (to where, I cannot tell you, because neighboring countries are overflowing with refugees, and cannot take any more), and claim Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, as solely Israeli.

As an American who cares about her country, I am very concerned about the dangerous territory to which the US/Israeli relationship is taking this country. Does it ever concern you, BTW, that the two Middle Eastern men by whom President Trump seems to be so thoroughly fascinated, are the two butchers in the Middle East, Prince bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen, and Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza?!? And please don't tell me, that in this man's "heart of hearts", he hopes for a just and lasting peace between the Israelis and Palestinians; because with everything he has done, in his numerous terms as PM, he has done the polar opposite of attempting to create peace. He doesn't use the word "extermination" when talking about the Palestinians in Gaza, because he knows that the optics would be terrible; but some of his more rabid followers would have absolutely no problem with this.

I cannot foretell where these relationships is taking this country, but I can tell you this; something wicked this way comes.

And were I a betting woman, I would bet that Israel is pushing the US as hard as it thinks it can, to declare the devolution of the US's ongoing economic war in the region into a shooting war against all of its alleged existential enemies; we're talking about a war with Syria (which would, again, most likely include a war with Russia if not Russia and China); war against Iran (which will most likely, involve war with Russia and China)

To the Editors of the NYT, I have just expressed my fact-based opinion on what is going to happen here, and I am hoping that I am dead-wrong; but I have a very clear understanding of what Israel did to the USS Liberty, and then tried to "fake it" by wrongly accusing Egypt of the attack.

"False flag attacks" by both the Israeli and US military, are a common stock-in-trade they both use.

And if you have any members of your families serving the US militarily, please, as best you can, pray for them; because if what I see coming does come to pass, they -and their commanders, and the collective members of the US government - will need it. And I say this because, at this point in the the US's military history, they do not have the money, the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the weaponry to create a successful outcome to a war against either Russia and/or China.

UCLA, CAL STATE LA QUARANTINE STUDENTS WHO CANNOT PROVE THEY HAD MEASLES VACCINATION

A quarantine order has been issued for hundreds of students and staff at two major Los Angeles universities – the University of California, Los Angeles, and California State University Los Angeles — who may have been exposed to measles and either have not been vaccinated or cannot verify that they have immunity.

UCLA reported that, as of Wednesday, there were 119 students and 8 faculty members were ordered to avoid contact with others. However, by Friday morning than number had fallen, with less than 50 staff and students yet to prove their immunization status. One student remained quarantined on campus.

L.A. County Department of Public Health officials hold a news conference to announce quarantines at UCLA and Cal State L.A. due to a measles outbreak. April 25, 2019. (CBS2)

Webmaster's Commentary:

Is it possible that the current round of measles vaccine has a problem?!?

By Alison Weir

Wikileaks publisher Julian Assange has finally been imprisoned, an objective long sought by powerful parties he helped to expose over the past dozen years.

BORDER PATROL RELEASING THOUSANDS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN TUCSON

Via: AZ Central:

Border Patrol officials have begun releasing migrant families in Tucson because they lack the space to detain them and immigration officials are unable to take them into custody.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency that normally takes custody of asylum-seeking families once they have been processed, has continued releasing families in Tucson.

That includes migrants apprehended in the Tucson sector as well as migrants who crossed through the Yuma area. Pima County officials estimate that ICE has released about 7,000 migrants in Tucson in the past eight months.

On top of that, Border Patrol officials in El Paso have been busing hundreds of migrants each day to Tucson so they can be released there instead of El Paso, which has also been struggling greatly with the sheer number of migrant families.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF we DO NOT have an immigration crisis on the border, as some on the left have asserted, as though it were a fact, what about this huge number of illegal immigrants crossing into the US on a daily basis?!?

With the official Federal deficit in the US nearing 22 trillion, where, please, is the money to clothe, feed, house, educate and in general, take care of these people, who have very little to "bring to the table" in terms of job skills other than manual labor, which is going to be nearly extinct in a decade?!?

SUSPECTED UAE SPY WITH POSSIBLE TIES TO KHASHOGGI CASE FOUND DEAD IN TURKISH PRISON

One of two Emirati men detained in Turkey on suspicion of both spying and having possible ties to the Jamal Khashoggi embassy murder case has reportedly taken his own life in prison, according to government and media sources.
The man was arrested by Turkish authorities 10 days ago and was later formally charged with “military and political” and “international espionage.” He was found dead having apparently hanged himself in his cell in Silivri prison on the outskirts of Istanbul on Sunday.

Turkish authorities are now launching an investigation into the suspicious circumstances of the man’s death as he was being detained in solitary confinement.

The two men claimed they were Palestinian nationals but admitted to working on behalf of UAE intelligence, reports Al Jazeera. One of the two alleged UAE spies reportedly arrived in Turkey just two days after Khashoggi’s murder.

Webmaster's Commentary:

SECRET UK MILITARY LAB GASSED, KILLED 48,400 ANIMALS IN 7 YEARS – REPORT

Around 48,400 animals, — namely pigs, monkeys, and guinea pigs — were killed in experiments conducted at the secret Porton Down laboratory in Wiltshire between 2007 and 2017, the Sunday Mirror reported. The Ministry of Defence supported the practice as being life-saving for British troops.

Porton Down reportedly tested experimental body armour by blasting animals covered in it with various explosives. It also tested poisonous substances, gases, and nerve agents on animals.

The news was not well received by animal rights groups, with Animal Aid slamming the experiments for causing “extreme suffering and death”, calling them morally unconscionable. The NGO stated that such experiments are unnecessary and noted that the number of killed animals is “alarming”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but 48,000 animals to be "sacrificed" in this manner, appears to be horrifically impossible to justify, unless, of course, the scientists doing these "experiments" happened to be avowed sadists as well.

WEALTHY ELITISTS FREAK OUT AS HORDES OF HOMELESS PEOPLE TAKE OVER THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS ALL OVER THE WEST COAST

The elite are very “tolerant” of the homeless until they start showing up in their own neighborhoods. Even though the mainstream media keeps telling us that the U.S. economy is “booming”, the number of Americans living on the streets continues to grow very rapidly, and this is particularly true in our major West Coast cities. More than half a million Americans will sleep on the streets of our cities tonight, and they need help, care and shelter. Sadly, as economic conditions deteriorate that number is likely to double or even triple. Of course many among the elite are all in favor of doing something for the homeless, as long as they don’t have to be anywhere around them.

For example, let’s talk about what is going on in Los Angeles. No city on the West Coast has a bigger problem with homelessness than L.A. does, and many in the homeless population enjoy camping out on the beautiful beaches in the L.A. area at night.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a level of homelessness which is encouraged by Federal and State policies; and why?!?

It is allowed to keep the rest of the population terrified that if they speak out of turn, or criticize someone of something into which government has, again , injected itself, that they too may wind up homeless.

TOP CHICAGO PROSECUTOR SUBPOENAED OVER OFFICE'S DECISION TO DROP SMOLLETT CHARGES

Following a wave of departures from her office and an intensifying inspector general investigation into her handling of the Jussie Smollett case, where she dropped a 16-count felony indictment against the actor after he allegedly faked his own hate crime, one retired judge is turning up the heat on Kim Foxx, Chicago's state's attorney.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Foxx has been subpoenaed by ex-appellate Judge Sheila O’Brien to appear at a hearing over her handling of the case. The judge is pushing for the appointment of a federal prosecutor.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good.

When hate crimes happen in this country, it is like a smack in the face to Americans' understanding that liberty and justice for all.

But HOW this came down, with friends testifying that Smollett had "put them up to it", as a way of enhancing his value to the show, and insure that he was gong to be kept on it into the next season?!?

Sorry; this doesn't pass the smell test.

Amazon's automated employee-tracking system can FIRE workers based on productivity without ever consulting a human

If you're one of the hundreds of thousands of employees working in an Amazon fulfillment center, technology many not only threatens to take your job, but could be the one pulling the trigger.

A report from The Verge shows that Amazon uses a stringent set of metrics to not only track the performance of workers in its warehouses but to automatically terminate their employment if they fail to meet certain standards.

In one facility located in Baltimore, the investigation found that approximately 300 full-time workers in one facility were fired for inefficiency between 2017 and 2018 -- a figure that represents 10 percent of the factory's overall workforce.

The one article you need to prove current US wars are lie-started Wars of Aggression not even close to lawful self-defense, war-murder millions, loot trillions, and require YOUR voice for .01% arrests

“It is no use trying to escape their arrogance by submission or good behavior. Robbers of the world, having by universal plunder exhausted the land, their drive is greed. If the enemy be rich, they are rapacious; if poor, they lust for domination. Neither rule of the East nor West can satisfy them. Alone among men, they crave with equal eagerness poverty and riches. To plunder, slaughter, seize with false pretenses, they give the lying name ‘empire.’ And where nothing remains but a desert, they call that ‘peace.’ ”
~ Tacitus, The Agricola and the Germania, on Roman Empire foreign wars in "self-defense" (analyses here, here)

Overview

The United States is the most dangerous illegal rogue state empire in human history, with escalating military armed attacks under President Trump.

Among the damning facts:
1. People around the world view the US as the greatest threat to peace; voted three times more dangerous than any other country.

Republican lawmaker graphically details abortions she witnessed when she worked in the medical field: ‘Perfectly formed little human babies in … buckets’

American women have become the biggest Mass Murderers on the Planet!
At least some are speaking out in opposition.

Republican North Carolina Rep. Pat McElcraft testified to the horrors of abortion during a hearing about Bill 359, which North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) ultimately vetoed.

Bill 359, had Cooper signed it, would have required that babies surviving botched abortion attempts would receive the same consideration when it came to lifesaving care "as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age." If violated, the bill would penalize doctors and health care providers.

Trump Officials: China Gets No ‘Wind-Down’ Period for Cutting Iran Oil Purchases

This will cause War. Thanks a lot Trump!

US expects China to stop buying oil by May 1
Jason Ditz Posted on April 26, 2019Categories NewsTags China, Iran, Trump
In comments that may set up a catastrophic amount of fallout in international trade, officials from the Trump Administration say that China will absolutely not be given any time to “wind-down” their purchases of Iranian oil, nor any extensions beyond May 1.

China is by far Iran’s largest customer, and would have by far the hardest time sourcing enough replacement oil on the market. These comments are likely to have an impact on the oil market, pushing prices higher, and more importantly, risking a US ultimatum on China.

VIDEO – FEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S OBEDIENCE TRAINING – YOU VILL BE VACCINATED!

The House committee hearing for HB-1312 was historic. Never have so many people come out to testify against one bill. 600 signed up to testify, almost all were adamantly opposed to these new restrictions on immunization exemptions. It was impossible to determine how many tried to come to the hearing as several rooms were used to seat everyone. The hearing went until after 4:00 AM the next morning.

The result? The Democrats were stone-deaf. After rejecting all meaningful amendments the bill passed on a party-line vote.

Uprising! The Hungarian Revolution of 1956

THE Hungarian uprising of 1956 was a spontaneous rebellion by a nation against the rule from Moscow - against the faceless, indifferent, incompetent functionaries (the 'funkies' David Irving calls them, adapting the Hungarian word funkcionáriusók) who in little more than a decade had turned their country into a pit of Marxist misery. But this fluttering of a national spirit was brief: the Soviet Union crushed the uprising with a brutality that shocked the western world.

Judge cites state secrets risk in dismissing warrantless wiretapping suit

A federal judge has dismissed a long-running lawsuit over President George W. Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program, ruling that allowing the case to go forward would create an unacceptable and exceptionally grave danger to the country.

“The Court cannot issue any determinative finding on the issue of whether or not Plaintiffs have standing without taking the risk that such a ruling may result in potentially devastating national security consequences,” U.S. District Court Judge Jeffrey White wrote in his ruling on Thursday.

The suit, filed in 2008, alleged that the snooping — eventually named the Terrorist Surveillance Program by the Bush administration — violated the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution as well as the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

She Wrote The Patriot Act. Her Next Job Is With Facebook

Facebook announced Monday that Jennifer Newstead, a Trump appointee who served in the Department of Justice (DoJ) under President Bush, will join the social media company as General Counsel, supervising its global legal functions.

Newstead replaces Colin Stretch, who announced in 3Q18 that he will exit. Stretch will remain with Facebook through the transition phase, expected to be completed in the coming months.

"Jennifer is a seasoned leader whose global perspective and experience will help us fulfill our mission," said Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer. "We are also truly grateful to Colin for his dedicated leadership and wise counsel over the past nine years. He has played a crucial role in some of our most important projects and has created a strong foundation for Jennifer to build upon."

Newstead brings a terrifying history of lobbying and legislating for an Orwellian style of mass electronic surveillance of Americans.

Activists Protect Venezuelan Embassy From US-Supported Coup

Authored by Medea Benjamin and Kevin Zeese via CommonDreams.org,

An extraordinary chapter in the ongoing saga of Venezuela has been taking place, virtually unnoticed, at the Venezuela Embassy that lies in the heart of swanky Georgetown in Washington DC.

A group initiated by CODEPINK and Popular Resistance, all activists opposed to the prospect of the Venezuelan opposition taking over the Embassy, have been living inside the building for the past two weeks, working side-by-side with the skeletal Venezuela diplomatic staff that has been told by the State Department that they must leave by April 24.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What really gets me, in the American way of doing politics, is that we are always, come our (alleged) national election day, voting for the lesser of two evils; and it boils down to that, because in order to be "presented" to the American people as a "great opportunity" to move our country forward.

Unfortunately, it is really the Deep State; the military industrial complex; and the large corporations which have already "chosen" the candidates for us, perhaps not in the "smoke filled rooms" of yesterday, but the 21st century's equivalent thereof.

Mike and I have watched the Trump presidency very carefully, to see if there were going to be any real, fundamental answers to the questions and concerns dogging We the People, and with the tiny exception of a little bit of braggadocio, on Trump's part, regarding illegal immigrants (so far, sound and fury, signifying not one heck of a lot), the short answer is, HELL, no!

The tax cuts upon which he waxed most poetic, have really only favored the already well-monied; the wars we hoped that he would shut down, have not been shut-down, but even further aggravated and intensified; and the sanctions and other attacks in Venezuela?!? Simply a shift in strategy to grab Venezuela's oil, when their first line of offence failed utterly, under Guaido, and flopped, miserably.

We are now looking at wars against China; North Korea; Iran; and Russia; and God only knows who else (most probably Africa, which has some of the most unclaimed natural resources in the world.).

And I have to ask my brother and sister Americans; can this be the same Trump who wrote "The Art of the Deal", now threatening the planet with aggressive wars of conquests, rather than trying to calm things down, in a responsible, measured, nuanced kind of way?!?

Day after day, President Trump reveals who he really is by the foreign policy he dictates; so now, we are dealing the terrifying revelation, that this man, unmasked, is a tyrannical cynical bully, who has, from day 1, been totally absorbed by the Neocon Borg, because he mimics precisely how they would deal with geopolitical issues.

War is his only answer to everything, as we are about to find out, unfortunately...And I think what we may be looking at, here at home, in the not too distant future, is the declaration of a National Emergency, ahead of the next US "Military Misadventure"; the suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights; and the resurrection of a draft in this country.

I frankly am experiencing very intense "buyers' remorse" on this guy right now, but folks; with the Dimentocrats having decided to ramrod a Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign down the throats of American voters in 2016, please: what choice did we actually have here?!?

Operation Crossfire Boomerang Begins

Authored by Raul Ilargi Meijer via The Automatic Earth blog,

From Twitter:

Remember Spying on Trump was called “Crossfire Hurricane”? Well now it’s renamed to “Crossfire Boomerang”. BOOM. Karma!

That brings us straight to the next question: The main issue, post-report, is not whether Trump tried to stop the Mueller probe. The main issue instead is why it was instigated to begin with. Yes, US intelligence. CIA.

And then there’s yet another question: When did Mueller know there was no collusion? Not just 1 or 2 weeks before presenting his report, that’s for sure.

So when? 6 months ago? A year? Did he ever really think there was collusion? If so, based on what? The almost entirely discredited Steele dossier? Did he have faith in that? The Mifsud-Papadoloulos-Downer connection ‘engineered’ by CIA asset Stephen Halper? Did he have faith in that? Or was the whole thing goal-seeeked from the start?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that if ever there was a time for Hillary Clinton to find a consultant on which countries in the world do not have an extradition treaty with the US, now just might be the right time.

Thinking of ones'self as "invulnerable" when one is actually a "live liability" to members of both parties in the Bowels of Power in DC, has only one possible outcome; and I can guarantee you, it will not be pretty.

NSA reportedly tells White House phone-surveillance program no longer worthwhile

The National Security Agency (NSA) has reportedly told the White House that it no longer sees its phone-surveillance program as worth the effort it requires.

It follows a report last month claiming that the NSA had in fact abandoned the program last year …

The WSJ reports that the NSA is making the recommendation ahead of a December deadline to either abandon the program or renew the legislation which makes it legal.

The National Security Agency has recommended that the White House abandon a surveillance program that collects information about U.S. phone calls and text messages, saying the logistical and legal burdens of keeping it outweigh its intelligence benefits, according to people familiar with the matter […]

The latest view is rooted in a growing belief among senior intelligence officials that the spying program provides limited value to national security and has become a logistical headache.

As if a deluge of sanctions against a great deal of the planet was not enough, the latest “offer you can’t refuse” conveyed by a gangster posing as diplomat, Consul Minimus Mike Pompeo, now essentially orders the whole planet to submit to the one and only arbiter of world trade: Washington.

First the Trump administration unilaterally smashed a multinational, UN-endorsed agreement, the JCPOA, or Iran nuclear deal. Now the waivers that magnanimously allowed eight nations to import oil from Iran without incurring imperial wrath in the form of sanctions will expire on May 2 and won’t be renewed.

Facebook says head-cam Christchurch video foiled its AI system

Facebook said it struggled to identify the video of the Christchurch mosque shootings because of the use of a head-mounted camera by the gunman, which made it harder for its systems to automatically detect the nature of the video.

"This was a first-person shooter video, one where we have someone using a GoPro helmet with a camera focused from their perspective of shooting," Neil Potts, Facebook's public policy director, told British MPs today.

Terror footage from a first-person perspective "was a type of video we had not seen before," he added.

Because of the nature of the video, Facebook's artificial intelligence - used to detect and prioritise videos that are likely to contain suicidal or harmful acts - did not work.

PM Jacinda Ardern gathers allies to wrestle the social-media Hydra

Until this week Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was fairly low-key in calling for action on the social media front following the Christchurch mosque attacks.

Beyond a call for those who led the social media platform to take more responsibility for what was on them, she took a more considered approach than some other countries' leaders after the terrorist livestreamed his slaughter on Facebook.

Some – such as Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison - passed hurried laws imposing tough penalties on social media executives who allowed such material on their platforms.

*Never let a good crisis go to waste. Arden has been groomed from early on to be in this position aiming her for the UN. She is a careeer politician, the worst kind. She is not to be trusted.*

The Buried Maidan Massacre And Its Misrepresentation By The West

Authored by Ivan Katchanovski via ConsortiumNews.com,

The new Ukrainian government is faced with reopening an inquiry into evidence of an organized mass killing in Kiev that Poroshenko stonewalled...

Police in Hrushevsky Street, Kiev, Feb. 12, 2014. (Wikimedia)

Five years ago, the Maidan massacre in Kiev, Ukraine, of Feb. 18-20, 2014, was a watershed event, not only for the politics and history of Ukraine but also for world politics generally. This mass killing in downtown Kyiv set the stage for the violent overthrow of the pro-Russian government in Ukraine and a new Cold War between Washington and Moscow.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When this comes out in the open, there are three things the Ukrainian government, and people, will take away; first, that then-President Barak Obama was key to the putsch moving successfully in installing Poroshenko President admitted on CNN, that the US government was behind the Kiev coup; 2nd, that Victoria Nuland bragged about having spent 5 billion on this regime change United States spent $5 billion on regime change in Ukraine; and thirdly, to never, ever trust the US government on anything it says.

The Ukrainians have learned a very painful lesson on this, and I hope that the new President, Volodymyr Zelensky, understands this reality as well. And whatever the US government wants him to do, will have a "price tag" on it.

Julian Assange's Victory

Authored by Andre Vltchek via Off-Guardian.org,

Throughout history, dark and reactionary forces have always attempted to control the world; by violence, by deceit, by kidnapping and perverting the mainstream narrative, or by spreading fear among the masses.

Consistently, brave and honest individuals have been standing up, exposing lies, confronting the brutality and depravity. Some have fought against insane and corrupt rulers by using swords or guns; others have chosen words as their weapons.

Many were cut down; most of them were.

New comrades rose up; new banners of resistance were unveiled.

To resist is to dream of a better world. And to dream is to live.

The bravest of the brave never fought for just their own countries and cultures; they fought for the entire humanity. They were and they are what one could easily define as “intuitive internationalists”.

"I Did Nothing Wrong" - Trump Warns "Angry Dems" He'll Take Impeachment Threats To Supreme Court

While Pelosi is desperately playing down impeachment threats (along with Bernie Sanders), many on the left refuse to let reality sink in and keep pushing for this distraction from their lack of policy positioning.

The Mueller Report, despite being written by Angry Democrats and Trump Haters, and with unlimited money behind it ($35,000,000), didn’t lay a glove on me. I DID NOTHING WRONG. If the partisan Dems ever tried to Impeach, I would first head to the U.S. Supreme Court. Not only......

Returning once again to where the real crimes were committed: " All of the Crimes were committed by Crooked Hillary, the Dems, the DNC and Dirty Cops - and we caught them in the act! "

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every time the Democrats double down on "impeachment", it demonstrates that they have, effectively, quit working for the people who hired them in the first place, to get something reasonable, helpful and responsible done, for We the People.

This is going to bite them in a very sensitive portion of the human anatomy in 2020. Tom Perez, you had better start taking a longer look at history, before you commit to impeachment here; and you had better start listening to the people who could flip their state in either direction, come November 2020, barring vote fraud, which we know is going to happen here.

Given the current numbers, even if the House impeaches, the Senate will not convict, which means that the Democrats will have spent millions more on investigations, which means that the money spent on this, will be off the table for other critical projects, like a crumbling infrastructure, and better help for our Vets.

Giuliani Lashes Out At Clintons: You Are "America's Number One Crime Family"

As Democrats continue to back away from trying to impeach President Trump for obstruction of the Mueller probe which cleared him of the underlying charge of conspiring with Russia in the 2016 election, Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani is on the war path - and is now targeting Hillary Clinton.

Following Tuesday remarks by Clinton that Donald Trump would have been indicted if he weren't president, Giuliani hit back in a Wednesday tweet - writing: "I encourage Hillary to get very involved in the 2020 election. She blew the last one for the Dems," adding "She is working on a book called “How To Obstruct And Go Free.” And the sequel will be “How My Husband Escaped” a perjury conviction. From America’s number one crime family."

Rudy Giuliani

@RudyGiuliani

Webmaster's Commentary:

While I greatly admire Giuliani's candor, I hope that he is sleeping in his Kevlar Undies these days, and has a great amount of physical, and psychological, protection around him.

As Mike and I found out all those years ago, this woman most probably has assassins on speed dial; from physical threats to the kinds of disinfo which can destroy a person's career, she has them all at her command, and will use any - and all - of them if she thinks someone is actually getting too close for comfort.

So I would say to Rudy, "please watch your back, your center, and all around you right now." I cannot say I like the guy, but I can imagine that Hillary would like to stop this guy in his tracks, if she could, "with extreme prejudice."

A Fly In The Ointment

Authored by Michael Lebowitz via RealInvestmentAdvice.com,

Many financial assets, especially those that are the riskiest, are priced well above their respective fundamental values. A thank you primarily belongs to unprecedented monetary policy conducted on a domestic and global scale. The vast financial rewards and temporary economic stability attributed to central bank actions appear to be blinding many investors to the longer-term consequences of these actions and the implications for their investments in an era of monetary policy normalization.

Accordingly, we discuss the proverbial fly in the ointment, or what might prevent central bankers from being able to successfully “manage” markets with their extraordinary policies.

Goldman Shares Slump As DoJ Demands Guilty Plea In 1MDB Case

Any investor who has been following DoJ's criminal investigation of the Vampire Squid over Goldman's alleged facilitation of the massive $4.5 billion fraud at Malaysian sovereign wealth fund 1MDB could probably have guessed that, whatever the outcome of the probe, it wasn't going to end well for the bank.

Those suspicions have now been confirmed.

According to a report published Wednesday by the Financial Times, Goldman Sachs could face the worst of all possible outcomes in the probe, for which it set aside half of a billion dollars in a legal contingency fund during Q4.

To wit:

US justice department staff have recommended that a settlement with Goldman Sachs over its role in the multibillion-dollar 1MDB corruption scandal should include a guilty plea at the parent company level, according to people familiar with the matter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I have said frequently at this site, the monied rarely eat their own.

I would almost be willing to bet that no one involved with this case, will actually do any jail time.

Cohen Betrayed: Tom Arnold Leaks Phone Call Where Former Trump Attorney Admits To More Lies

President Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen has backtracked in a recent recorded phone call, claiming he's not actually guilty for crimes he pleaded guilty to.

In a conversation with Trump-hating provocateur Tom Arnold, Cohen said that he hadn't evaded taxes, and that a criminal charge linked to his home-equity line of credit was "a lie," according to the Wall Street Journal.

Arnold recorded Cohen without his knowledge for approximately 36 minutes during a March 25 phone call, which Arnold provided to the Journal.

"There is no tax evasion," said Cohen on the call. "And the Heloc? I have an 18% loan-to-value on my home. How could there be a Heloc issue? How? Right?…It’s a lie."

In the 36-minute recording, Messrs. Cohen and Arnold covered a range of issues, from the legal troubles of former Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti to Mr. Trump’s affinity for the leader of North Korea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why do the largest hunks of fecal matter swim so closely to those at the top of the food chain in DC?!?

It appears to me, at this point in my observations of those in the Bowels of Power in DC, that the higher up in station these monied people become, and the larger the chokehold they have on our financial affairs, the greater the resistance they have against doing anything remotely for the good of We the People.

Just because a country has "elections", is no guarantee that it remains a democratic republic. We are, at this point in the US, a kleptocracy of the highest order, of the monied, by the monied, and for the monied.

I'm tired of this; no matter who we vote for, there is utterly zero positive change. We are given the illusion of control, through our national elections, but this is nothing more than swapping out one "talking head" for another, who are completely in the sway of the corporations and military industrial complex, which rule this shell game, to which, in large part, we are not privy.

EU PLOT: Brussels plans HUGE new powers - including IGNORING states on crunch decisions

EUROPEAN Commissioner Gunther Oettinger has floated controversial proposals which would allow the bloc to make far-ranging decisions on foreign policy, even if some member states disagreed, as well as levying taxes on a Europe-wide level.

And German MEP Hans-Olaf Henkel has warned the idea, if taken to its natural conclusion, could result in Brussels making decisions about going to war or even authorising the use of nuclear weapons.

Mask off? US ambassador to Russia says US practices diplomacy with aircraft carriers

The US ambassador to Russia, Jon Huntsman, says there is little need for his craft as “200,000 tons of diplomacy” are prowling the waters of the Mediterranean, unabashedly endorsing military show-offs as a political tool.

“Each of the carriers operating in the Mediterranean at this time represent 100,000 tons of international diplomacy,” Huntsman said in a statement to the US Navy’s 6th Fleet.

The Orchestration of Russophobia Is the Prelude to War

The Russian Embassy in Washington has prepared an accurate 121-page report, THE RUSSIAGATE HYSTERIA: A CASE OF SEVERE RUSSOPHOBIA.

Everyone should read this report. It documents the fake news, lies, violations of diplomatic standards and international law, and gratuitous aggressive actions taken against Russia during the period beginning May 18, 2016 and continuing through the issuance of the Mueller Report.

Without explicitly saying so, the report shows that neither the US government nor the American media has a nanoparticle of integrity. Both are criminal organizations that are willing to risk war with Russia in their pursuit of narrow policitized agendas.

This is important information for Americans and the rest of the world to have. Every person, every government and every private organization that supports Washington’s Russophobic policies is contributing to the growing threat of nuclear war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Paul Craig Roberts... is one of the true "adults in the room" in Geopolitics; I sure wish he was our Secretary of State right now, rather than Pompeo.

Why are the peaceful people, who want to ratchet down the rhetoric out there, and make the world a more responsible, less hostile place for its citizens, always marginalized, or sidelined permanently?!?

Because that... makes the US a less war-centric company, and that... makes those companies heavily invested in the creation of weaponry, very unhappy.

But if I were a betting woman, I would not bet against Americans being absolutely ready for a peace candidate; if they just had a chance here, which they do not seem to have.

Oil Shortage Crisis Might Force the Syrian State to Liberate East Euphrates

Muhammad Khodhr, Lebanese Al-Mayadeen News Channel reporter in Syria wrote to almayadeen.net commenting on the pressing issue of the shortages in Syria. Mr. Khdhr’s article is in Arabic and we tried to translate it to our best to English.

The current crisis started on Saturday, April 6th, which the government attributes to the impact of US sanctions on the Syrian economy. Oil Minister Ali Ghanem said during a tour of the gas stations that the material was available at stations in an effort to reassure consumers who have just got out of a severe shortage in gas which stretched throughout the winter months and effectively ended with the start of the spring.

Iraq 'will be deprived of power' if it cuts Iran gas imports

raq's electricity minister said on Monday that the country will be "deprived of power" if the US decides to end its sanction waivers that has allowed Baghdad to purchase Iranian energy such as gas and electricity.

The US has granted eight countries a six-month exemption allowing them buy Iranian hydrocarbon products despite Washington's embargo, which took effect in November, but Washington announced the end of the waiver on Monday.

Iraq has received separate extensions to continue importing Iranian gas since the imposition of the economic embargo.

Baghdad was granted an extra 90-day waiver in March and it remains unclear whether it will be extended once again.

“If this stops then we will be deprived of 4,000 megawatts of electricity,” Musab Al Mudaris, spokesman for the Iraqi ministry of electricity, said on Monday.

The waiver stipulates that the countries must take steps to reduce Iranian purchases and move towards ending imports.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, the US government wants to attempt to get Iraq to stop buying Iran's oil?!?

How, really, are they going to do this?!? Re-invade Iraq, with an Iraq2.0, "golden cut" invasion?!?

Russia’s Hostile Outreach of Friendship

The mainstream media never ceases to remind us that Russia is an adversary of the United States … or an opponent … an enemy … a rival … an adversary … or, my favorite, a “regional hegemon.”

Imagine: Russia trying to establish business relations with the United States. Even worse, coming up with a plan of “reconciliation” between the two countries?

Well, certainly one thing could be worse, from the standpoint of the media and the U.S. national-security establishment. That would be Russians who were trying to help Donald Trump defeat Hillary Clinton. After all, on the campaign trail Trump was also saying that he intended to establish a friendly and harmonious relation with Russia while Clinton was embracing the opposite position. In the eyes of the mainstream press and the Washington, D.C., establishment, the fact that Russia preferred the presidential candidate who favored normalizing relations shows why Russia poses such a grave threat to “national security.”

US threatens to veto UN resolution on rape as weapon of war, officials say

The US is threatening to veto a United Nations resolution on combating the use of rape as a weapon of war because of its language on reproductive and sexual health, according to a senior UN official and European diplomats.

The German mission hopes the resolution will be adopted at a special UN security council session on Tuesday on sexual violence in conflict.

But the draft resolution has already been stripped of one of its most important elements, the establishment of a formal mechanism to monitor and report atrocities, because of opposition from the US, Russia and China, which opposed creating a new monitoring body.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am completely gob-smacked by this; rape as a weapon of war, has always been recognized as a criminal act; apparently, the White House doesn't see it this way.

US Delivering Excavation Equipment to Syria’s Kurdish YPG

In a move that is likely to rile up NATO member Turkey, the US has made a huge delivery of equipment to the Syrian Kurdish YPG, a group Turkey considers terrorists, and have long threatened to invade.

200 trucks crossed into Syria’s Deir Ezzor from neighboring Iraq. This is not a military shipment. Rather, it is building material and construction equipment intended to allow for reconstruction after the defeat of ISIS.

That’s the US version at least, but the inclusion of substantial excavation equipment is fueling concern, particularly in Turkey, that this is going to be used for mass tunnel digging across Syria, in anticipation of the Turkish invasion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The issue of timing here, is critical.

This delivery of construction equipment to the Kurds, signals that the US is favorable to trying to bring about an independent Kurdistan, and Turkey is going to become totally ballistic if this happens.

So let's take the scenario to the next step; If Kurds start attacking Turkish troops, who are NATO allies, as are our troops, what is the US government's position be?!?

This comes to us today, through the courtesy of the US's Department of "You can't make this stuff up!"

Why are the military and civilian leadership of this country, never able think something through to the end of its most logical scenarios?!?

How Do You Prefer Your Empire: Coarse or Polite?

It amounts to a matter of taste; how you prefer the emperor to behave. Such is political life in the late-stage American Empire. Both major parties offer nothing but the same – hyper-military interventionism and the quest for global hegemony – in the charade of choice each election cycle. The question, as 2020 approaches, is whether we can expect more of the same from the Democratic and Republican candidates for president. Of course, the use of this label, emperor, will undoubtedly make many a reader squirm and/or dismiss this piece.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That will only start to change, when the US government does a complete resurrection of the Draft, which I figure may be coming forward either this year, or next.

And remember; this time, the Pentagon won't just becoming for your sons; they will be coming for your daughters as well.

As French US envoy calls Israel ‘apartheid state,’ Trump’s Palestine deal looks all but doomed

US President Donald Trump’s “deal of the century,” aimed at resolving the decades-long conflict between Israel and Palestine, looks dead in the water, as speculation continues that the plan will be far more favorable to Israel.
Gérard Araud, France’s outgoing envoy to the US, dubbed Israel an “apartheid state” in a farewell interview with the Atlantic magazine on Friday and suggested that the secret plan is “very close to what the Israelis want” and 99 percent “doomed to fail.”

Still, Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, are exerting “immense pressure” on the Palestinians to accept Trump’s deal, a senior Fatah official told Iran’s Press TV on Monday. Those countries are “using all means, including political and financial blackmail” to force Palestinians into agreeing with the deal “despite all the dangers it poses to the Palestinian cause.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, Aurad has this nailed perfectly; and no amount of money can possibly get the Palestinians to voluntarily give up what is left... of their homeland.
