French protesters call for bank run on december 7 2010 - goes viral on EU-webs

Webmaster's Commentary:

Certainly a thing to watch. Hot debate in EU-forums about this.

Dutch lawmakers have already considered laws to outlaw calls for bank runs

It could devastate the economy, but more importantly it could make clear to the banks that we have them by the balls. It's just that so few people know we do.

The Rising Tide of Ethno-Nationalism: Multiculturalism Fails in Europe

Is Europe's adventure in international living about to end? At Potsdam, Germany, this weekend, Chancellor Angela Merkel told the young conservatives of her Christian Democratic Union that Germany's attempt to create a multicultural society where people "live side by side and enjoy each other" has "failed, utterly failed."

Backing up her rueful admission are surveys showing 30 percent of Germans believe the country is overrun by foreigners. An equal number believe the foreigners come to feed off German welfare.

"We kidded ourselves for a while that they wouldn't stay, but that's not the reality," she said at a conference of the youth wing of her Christian Democratic Union party at the weekend, referring to the gastarbeiters, or guest workers, who arrived in Germany to fill a labour shortage during the economic boom of the 1960s.

Travel Alert Update: State Department Reiterates European Travel Warnings

The U.S. Department of State is upholding a travel alert placed over Europe earlier this month, said a counterterrorism coordinator on Thursday.

According to U.S. counterterrorism coordinator Daniel Benjamin, the Mumbai-style terror plot aimed at several European cities is still in play and enough of a possibility not to rescind the alert.

American travelers and expatriates were advised by the State Department to keep a low profile and to take general safety precautions. The State Department did not, however, issue a formal warning to Americans not to travel to Europe.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that the US State Department has morphed into the US Department of Fearmongering, and instead of preventing terrorism through logical, far-sighted planning, is practicing "scareorrism" to attempt to keep the American people in a perpetual state of panic.

Panic keeps people from thinking clearly and rationally.

The first and foremost thing the US could do to prevent any kind of action like this taking place against American targets, at home or abroad, would be to stop mucking about in other people's countries, like Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, and (probably soon) Iran.

Of course, that would be logical.

WRAPUP 4-Fuel to Paris reduced as French protests escalate

PARIS, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Striking French oil refinery workers shut down a fuel pipeline supplying Paris and its airports on Friday and airport workers grounded some flights as protests mounted to derail an unpopular pension reform.

France's airport operator played down worries of fuel shortages, but strikes at all of the country's 12 refineries and fuel depot blockades prompted motorists to stock up on petrol.

Truck drivers also were set to join the fray as momentum built for a day of street rallies on Saturday.

The widening protests have become the biggest challenge facing President Nicolas Sarkozy, who is struggling with low popularity ratings as he tries to appease financial markets by stemming a ballooning pension shortfall.

Washington´s Fear Campaign: US Issues Terror Alert for European Cities

The US State Department issued a terror alert Sunday for American citizens traveling anywhere in the continent of Europe, an unprecedented action that seems calculated to spread alarm without actually helping anyone avoid becoming the target of a terrorist attack. The Pentagon imposed a weekend curfew on troops at the US Air Force Base at Ramstein, Germany, ordering soldiers not to wear their uniforms off base “in response to a threat condition.”

Britain, Japan, Sweden and Canada all followed suit, issuing alerts to their own citizens who might be traveling to Europe. In each case, they cited the US alert as evidence that there was an increased danger of a terrorist attack at European transit hubs and tourist attractions.

Is AP deliberately fear-mongering Europe terror threat to sell body scanners?

Activist Post

It appears that the Associated Press is fear-mongering about recently heightened terror threats in Europe. They have turned one vague State Department warning into multiple headline stories, making it appear as though a terror threat is imminent. But the original report provides very flimsy information about a nonspecific threat apparently obtained from, "a Pakistani intelligence official said (that) eight Germans and two British brothers were at the heart of an al-Qaida-linked terror plot against European cities, but the plan was still in its early stages."

The results are stark, and prove decisively that not all terrorists are Muslims. Leftist groups accounted for over sixteen times as much terrorism as radical Islamic groups. Only a measly 0.4% of terrorist attacks from 2007 to 2009 could be attributed to extremist Muslims.

BBC under fire after removing video of Greek shoe protest from its website

BBC's Greek correspondent said to be 'furious' after his story on protest against Greek PM was removed

The incident happened when Papandreou was visiting the city of Thessaloniki, where approximately 20,000 protesters were demonstrating against his government's swingeing austerity cuts.

The corporation took the footage down from the website after what it described as "supporters of the [Greek] government" complained about the video and made allegations about its authenticity.

The film was taken down despite, it is understood, protests by Brabant. Since the Guardian made inquiries, the BBC has put the video back online.

It will not be long before the true anti-Semitic nature of the far-right anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats (SD) party - which won an unprecedented number of seats in Sunday’s elections, is revealed - a leader of the local Jewish community there warned on Monday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: Swedish voters kicked out their Israel-firsters and Israel does not like it one damned bit.

The Swedes have balls Americans can only dream of!

America needs leaders who will put America first, second, and third.

No government can serve two masters, and a government that serves Israel cannot serve the American people. A friend to Israel is no friend of America, especially after the attack on American aid workers in international waters!

Netherlands cancels visit by Israeli delegation including settlement heads

AMSTERDAM, (PIC)-- The Netherlands has cancelled a tour of its country by an Israeli delegation including representatives of Israeli settlements in the West Bank set to take place next month.

The tour was designed to educate Israelis on local governance in the Netherlands and exchange intelligence.

The Dutch foreign ministry decided to cancel the visit after learning that council heads of some Israeli settlements in the West Bank would participate.

The Netherlands, like the European Union, has publicly rejected Israeli settlement activity in the "Palestinian territories".

Israeli authorities were outraged by the Netherlands’ decision, claiming that the move is a step into domestic affairs.

Basel III: The Global Banks at The Edge of The Precipice. Trillions of "Toxic Waste" in the Global Banking System

The first indication that the game is up is when US treasuries are increasingly purchased by the FED to make up for the shortfalls by foreign creditors and to finance the ballooning US deficits.

All of a sudden, some entities may start to get real nervous and unload the treasuries, and the FED steps in to shore up treasuries. Then, the tipping point is reached and Hell breaks loose!

China is also part of this confidence game.

But, contrary to IMF and other renowned economists who are betting on China’s and Asia’s so-called economic strengths, I take the view that when US treasuries collapse, faith in all fiat monies will likewise evaporate and there will be massive capital flight to commodities, especially gold, silver and oil.

GORDON DUFF: ISRAEL’S WAR WITH ITSELF

THE VICTIM GAME –

It is easy to spot a liar if you are willing to take an honest look. When the American press quoted President Ahmadinejad of Iran saying, “I am going to wipe Israel off the face of the earth” we had our own gullibility thrown in our faces. We, if willing to look honestly at ourselves, were being humiliated, played for fools.

It is one thing if a spokesman for Bibi Netanyahu’s Likudist government had tried this, but it was all the networks and newspapers in America, all carrying the same story, a story, not only inaccurate but an outrageous lie. The story, the translation, was so false, that it should have been a joke were it not being used to try to convince America to attack Iran to “defend” Israel. This is what Ahmadinejad actually said:

Big Pharma Scores Big Win: Medicinal Herbs Will Disappear in EU

It's almost a done deal. We are about to see herbal preparations disappear, and the ability of herbalists to prescribe them will also be lost.

Big Pharma has almost reached the finish line of its decades-long battle to wipe out all competition. As of 1 April 2011—less than eight months from now—virtually all medicinal herbs will become illegal in the European Union. The approach in the United States is a bit different, but it's having the same devastating effect. The people have become nothing more than sinks for whatever swill Big Pharma and Agribusiness choose to send our way, and we have no option but to pay whatever rates they want.

Big Pharma and Agribusiness have almost completed their march to take over every aspect of health, from the food we eat to the way we care for ourselves when we're ill. Have no doubt about it: this takeover will steal what health remains to us.

AMERICA’S “JUSTICE” IN OCCUPIED IRAQ: WHY TARIQ AZIZ SHOULD BE RELEASED

By Muriel Mirak-Weissbach

The appearance on August 5 of an interview with former Iraqi diplomat Dr. Tariq Aziz in the Guardian was a minor bombshell, whose repercussions were to be felt worldwide. Like an underground explosion, the interview sent waves throughout international waters, rocking many boats and reaching far distant shores. It was not only what the former top Iraqi diplomat said — although his brief statements were of utmost relevance — but the mere fact that he was allowed to speak out in public, which sent eerie signals across international diplomatic circuits.

Why?

Who Is Tariq Aziz?

JAMES PETRAS: IMPERIALISM AND IMPERIAL BARBARISM

Excerpts from Petras thesis:

Imperialism, its character, means and ends has changed over time and place.

Under pressure from nationalist and socialist anti-imperialist movements and regimes, colonial structured empires gave way to new nationalist regimes. Some of which restructured their economies, diversifying their productive systems and trading partners.

Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban: When they shout: “We strongly condemn …”

The lack of Western reaction towards this rise in the number of crimes against Palestinians reflects the conviction in the West that ‘violence has receded in the Middle East’, as if killing the Arabs is not ‘violence’, while killing these settlers is the only ‘violence’ in the Middle East

Kenneth O’Keefe: Veto power is an insult to the international community

The hypocrisy of Israel having undeclared nuclear weapons in the hundreds while an open nuclear program in Iran is grounds for war is beyond absurd.

"The Zionist regime will not survive any more than the Nazi regime or the South African Apartheid regime. The Zionists will go the same way."

Geert Wilders' ties to the Israeli mob

In 1991, in a drunken mood, Geert Wilders' tongue slipped tremendously.
The remarks he made were made public by members of his former party, the (right-leaning) VVD, just before the elections in the Netherlands in june, 2010.
The following (unprofessional) translation may shed some light on his so-called neo-fascist *wackiness* as mentioned by Justin Raimondo in his article "Gunning for Islam".

High-ranking Georgian Defense Ministry official arrested in Pankisi Gorge

A high-ranking official of the Georgian Ministry of Defense has been arrested in the Pankisi Gorge as a result of a special operation. Soso Guzarauli, is suspected of arms trafficking.

He was arrested by the military police, not the regular police, so this sounds like it could be a control measure in anticipation of what the Russians are going to do over the supply weapons to various groups in other regions of Russian by these established networks.
