Hundreds of Illegal Immigrants from Congo and Angola Dropped Off in San Antonio

For those of you following along on the Congolese migrant influx in San Antonio, this is what made air on Thursday. A lengthier write-up including the struggles Catholic Charities is facing can be found here: https://www.kens5.com/article/news/local/parle-francais-city-searches-... …@KENS5 #kens5eyewitness

Roughly 350 migrants from the Congo are expected to arrive in San Antonio in the coming days leaving the city scrambling for French-speaking volunteers.

“We didn’t get a heads up,” Interim Assistant City Manager Dr. Collen Bridger told KEN 5 on Thursday.

Bridger said the Congolese migrants began to arrive in town on Tuesday. They told Migrant Resource Center workers, they traveled with a group of about 350 migrants through Ecuador to the southern border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's see... what is going on in the Congo at the moment. According to the following report, by the World Health Organization, it is this:

Ebola has broken out in the Republic of Congo

So I have to wonder; did any of these refugees get tested for ebola before they crossed the US border into Austin?!?

And if not, what the hell is the rationale for just dumping them in Austin?!?
This makes absolutely zero sense to me; does it to you?!?

Tens of thousands of images stolen in US border hack

Images of tens of thousands of people crossing the US border with Mexico have been stolen in a major hack, the US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has said.

The breach, which affected the network of a sub-contractor, also saw photos of vehicle licence plates stolen, said the CBP.

It said fewer than 100,000 people were affected based on "initial reports".

It also contradicted claims that image data had been shared on the dark web.

Report: ISIS Plotted to Send Terrorists Through U.S. Southern Border

A study published in Homeland Security Today reveals an ISIS plot to send terrorists through the U.S.-Mexico border by taking advantage of smuggling and migration routes.

The report references an ISIS fighter named Abu Henricki (name changed in the report), a Canadian citizen with dual citizenship with Trinidad, who was captured in Syria in early May.

The International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism (ICSVE) interviewed Henricki and discovered that ISIS planned to have terrorists travel from Syria to Central America and infiltrate America through the southern border.

Mexico Claims Some Migrant Caravan Funding Came from U.S., England

Mexican tax officials froze the assets of 26 individuals and entities they allege are tied to human smuggling organizations or to promoting Central American migrant caravans. The caravans moved thousands of individuals from the “northern triangle” through Mexico to the U.S. border. The funding for the migrant caravans allegedly came from the U.S., England, Africa, and Central America.

The ministry’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) said in a statement it froze the accounts due to “probable links with human trafficking and illegal aid to migrant caravans.”

Border Crisis Deepens: More Than 132K Arrested Last Month

Arrests in May increased by nearly a third from April. At this rate, illegal immigration levels will reach highs we haven’t seen since 2006.
JUNE 5, 2019 By John Daniel Davidson.

U.S. Customs and Border Protections on Wednesday released its numbers for May, and they are shocking. Border Patrol apprehended or turned away more than 144,000 people last month on the southwest border, including more than 100,000 families and children.

That exceeds by 32 percent the total for April, which had represented the highest number of monthly apprehensions since 2007. Over the past eight months, CBP has detained more than 680,000 illegal immigrants—or, as acting CBP Commissioner John Sanders put it, “more than the population of Miami.

Record number of undocumented immigrants flooded the southern border in May

Border Patrol officers encountered more than 144,000 undocumented immigrants at the southwest border in May, the largest monthly total in 13 years, officials said Wednesday.

More than 132,000 were stopped while crossing the border illegally; the rest presented themselves at legal ports of entry, Customs and Border Protection officials said.

May marked the third month in a row that more than 100,000 immigrants were taken into custody at the border amid a surge of migrants heading north in large groups from the Northern Triangle countries of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

Trump Threatens New National Emergency To Enact Mexico Tariffs

The Trump administration has indicated that it may declare a second national emergency in order to implement new tariffs announced on Mexico, according to Senate Republicans, who announced the potential plan following a closed-door lunch with White House deputy counsel Pat Philbin and DOJ officials.

There was no word on the likelihood of this happening, however on Sunday, acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said that President Trump "is absolutely, deadly serious" about the tariffs, adding "I fully expect these tariffs to go on to at least the 5% level on June 10. The president is deadly serious about fixing the situation at the southern border."

The White House announced Thursday that the import tax will increase by 5 percentage points every month through October, topping out at 25%, unless Mexico takes significant action to stem the flow of migrants, mostly from Central America, who have surged to the U.S. border in recent months. -LA Times

TRUMP SAYS TARIFFS ON MEXICAN IMPORTS GO INTO EFFECT NEXT WEEK; MEXICO THREATENS RETALIATION

Mexico is exploring ways to retaliate against the United States for taking the trade war south of the border. President Donald Trump isn’t content with the punishment levied on the American consumer just yet, so he announced the 5% tariffs on Mexico will take effect on June 10.

Not only would the tariffs increase the prices of vegetables in the U.S., but some reports say up to 400,000 jobs are at stake as well. Wasn’t Trump’s goal to bring work and prosperity to the U.S.? I guess that means through increased costs of goods and lost jobs. These trade wars have never made economic sense and the U.S. is setting itself up for failure. The 5% tariffs on Mexican goods will especially hit Texas jobs hard, according to a report by CNBC.

President Trump dismissed the threat, saying he will follow through on tariffs against Mexico and it would be “foolish” for the Republicans to try to stop him. A Mexican delegation is in Washington try to resolve the dispute.

US, Mexico begin talks aimed at avoiding tariffs

US and Mexican officials began talks on Monday in Washington to try and avert the threat of US tariffs on Mexican goods that would kick in on June 10.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that he was confident a deal to avoid tariffs would come out of the talks that could last the whole week.

The country's foreign minister, Marcelo Ebrard, said in Washington that Mexican officials would be presenting their US counterparts with documents detailing the impact of US-imposed tariffs on both countries.

Ebrard also told reporters that Mexico would reject a US idea to designate Mexico as a "safe third country" if it is brought up during this week's talks.

"An agreement about a safe third country would not be acceptable for Mexico," Ebrard said. "They have not yet proposed it to me. But it would not be acceptable and they know it."

Judge rejects Congress’ challenge of border wall funding

A federal judge on Monday denied a House request to prevent President Donald Trump from tapping Defense Department money for his proposed border wall with Mexico, saying Congress lacked authority to sue.

U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee, wrote that the House’s lawsuit was “about whether one chamber of Congress has the ‘constitutional means’ to conscript the Judiciary in a political turf war with the President over the implementation of legislation.”

SOURCE: THE INTERCEPT
THE VANS STARTED coming on May 14, depositing their passengers into an alley by the Greyhound station in San Bernardino, California, and then taking off. The first night, the station’s small lobby quickly filled with migrants from Guatemala and elsewhere who had been abruptly dropped off there by the U.S. Border Patrol.

The manager of the station ended up getting many of them tickets to Los Angeles that night, said Luis Suarez, of the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice. “It’s open 24/7, and he wanted them to have a warm place at least. San Bernardino closes at 2 a.m.” On summer nights, temperatures can drop 30 degrees in the city, which is located in the foothills of a mountain range about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

Outrage as Eid al-Fitr Replaces National Day Feast in Swedish Municipality

An integration attempt in immigrant-heavy Järfälla municipality has failed, when the Islamic holiday edged out Swedish National Day from the most coveted spot.

Following demands from locals, Järfälla municipality in Greater Stockholm has replaced the National Day celebrations with an Islamic feast in the residential area Söderhöjden, the news outlet Samtiden reported.

At first, the municipal housing company and the municipal cultural centre Huset på Höjden (“The House on the Hill”) intended on 6 June to hold a joint celebration of the National Day of Sweden and Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.

However, this idea turned out to be unpopular with the resident's of the municipality, where close to half of the population are of immigrant descent, and protests ensued.

Finland Intends to Put Electronic 'Fetters' on Illegal Migrants

At present, the number of illegal migrants defying Finnish rejections to their asylum application and even deportation rulings is estimated to hover at several thousand.

Finland may put electronic footwear on immigrants who have had their asylum applications rejected, the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reported.

If passed, the law will generally apply to immigrants, but especially to those who have received negative decisions on their asylum applications. The idea of electronic footwear, in Scandinavia known as “electronic fetters”, is to serve as an alternative to putting all illegal immigrants in physical custody, an option reserved for individuals deemed dangerous to the public. The Aliens Act lists several conditions for detention, including risk of escape, suspicion of crime or a threat to national security. With footwear in place, the authorities will still be able to keep track of them.

Pelosi Tears Into Melania Trump's Parents Over POTUS Migration Policy

The “pro-American” “merit-based” immigration plan, the US president presented in May, favours skilled newcomers over so-called chain migration, allowing to bring in family members. Donald Trump’s in-laws, who are from Slovenia like the First Lady, received US citizenship in 2018, following a years-long process.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken aim at Donald Trump and his recently rolled-out merit-based migration plans through his Slovenian-born wife and her parents, who became US citizens less than a year ago. She lambasted his plan as an idea designed to “make America white again”.

“I don’t know if merit counted for when his wife’s family came into the country. I don’t know. Maybe it did. God bless them if it did. But he calls that ‘chain migration’, which he wants to get rid of”, she reprimanded the US president while speaking at a Commonwealth Club of California event in San Francisco, as The Washington Examiner reports.

VIGILANTES HELPED STEVE BANNON’S GROUP WITH PRIVATE BORDER WALL NEAR EL PASO

SOURCE: THE INTERCEPT
PEOPLE IN THE El Paso area were stunned to learn on Memorial Day that a new segment of border wall had just sprung up in their midst, seemingly out of nowhere. Though it is already hundreds of feet long and snakes up a high mountain, it was initiated secretly, in just a few days, on private property that for long has been so off-limits to the public that even reporters have feared going near.

The massive, imposing barrier is planned to be about a half-mile long. It’s being erected by We Build the Wall Inc., a crowdfunded effort spearheaded by ultra-right military veteran Brian Kolfage. In December, Kolfage called for people to donate for a privately funded border wall to be built on private land. He said his plan would bypass problems created by Congress, the courts, and legal opponents such as the American Civil Liberties Union.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, for any of you who actually know me, you will find me a lover of all people, from everywhere.

But We, as a People, have some very hard choices to make about immigration.

When I was a kid, growing up in Burbank, California, it was made very clear to me, by my parents, that I needed every possible skill to become a contributing member of society.

Language was critical; being able to do simple math... was critical. These were the life lessons my Mom and Dad worked tirelessly, to instill in me; and those values took hold, to the point where, at this point in my life, I am an entrepreneur and published composer, who has a very clear vision of who she is, and what her capabilities are.

Illegal... is not a race. It is the description of anyone who comes here illegally, and expects that the US government will pay for their kids' education; for their health care; and for their sustenance, having broken the laws of this country, to be here.

And the logical question, from someone who has lived here all her life, approaching their alleged "golden years", but still working pretty much full time, is ...why?!?

What the heck did I ever do to these people?!?

And the short answer is, nothing.

So why should I be expected to pay for healthcare, education, and sustenance of people who have broken American law, to be here?!?

The short answer is, I shouldn't have to.

This is not the America of Emma Lazarus, who gave us the beautiful poem "Give me your tired, your poor... your huddled masses earning to breathe free." This is the America where people who can do computer code are welcomed, because these days, computers run most businesses, and most manufacturing. People with skills, welcome; and sorry; this country cannot become the place where non-achievers can totally rely on the Federal government to help them out, when they have absolutely nothing to give back.

That... is simply the reality of 21st century life in the USA.

IN NOVEMBER 2005, two terminals for a new secure communications platform arrived at the U.S. military base at Bagram Airfield, outside Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul. The first of its kind, the system would enable the U.S.’s electronic eavesdropping organization, the National Security Agency, to instantaneously share select classified information with America’s closest allies in the fight against the Taliban, speeding the delivery of critical information to soldiers. Previously, the only way to pass intelligence at Bagram between the U.S. and partner nations was to hand it over as hard copy. These two first nodes in what would eventually become a larger network, known as CENTER ICE, would end the paper shuffling, ultimately saving the lives of troops in combat.

‘London isn’t an English city anymore’: John Cleese hot take sparks Twitter firestorm

British comedy icon John Cleese’s claim that London is no longer an “English city” has unleashed a flood of reaction on Twitter as Brits latch onto another topic to fight about.

The Fawlty Towers and Monty Python star dredged up previous comments he made about the UK capital losing its sense of Englishness, tweeting that the observation has since been confirmed by virtually all his friends from abroad.

“I note also that London was the UK city that voted most strongly to remain in the EU,” the comedian added.

‘German Caliphate’: AfD branch under fire over map showing west of Germany ‘taken over’ by Islamists

A Berlin area branch of the right-wing anti-migrant Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has faced backlash after posting and then deleting a photoshopped map calling the west and the south of the country a “German Caliphate.”
The graphic, posted by AfD’s Berlin-Lichtenberg Facebook page a day after the European Parliament vote ended, featured the flag of Germany over the country’s eastern states, where AfD won the most support. The five federal states and Berlin were painted blue and titled the Federal Republic of Germany.

In contrast, the west and the south of the country were painted green and emblazoned with a black flag featuring the shahadah, or Islamic declaration of faith. The states were branded the “German Caliphate,” while a caption to the post read: “Pictures speak louder than words.”

While the account that posted the image removed it within hours of uploading, it still managed to stir some controversy on social media.

O’Rourke Proposes ‘Most Sweeping Rewrite Of US Immigration Law In A Generation’

Democratic presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke revealed an extensive policy proposal on Wednesday that would overhaul the U.S. immigration system.

“We just announced a plan that would implement the most sweeping rewrite of U.S. immigration law in a generation and overcome years of inaction to finally advance a new vision of immigration that fully reflects our country’s values,” O’Rourke announced.

The proposal consists of three key pillars, starting with the use of executive authority to reform the asylum system, overturn President Donald Trump’s travel bans and reunite separated families.

O’Rourke would then use his position as president to urge Congress to enact legislation promoting immigration and naturalization.

Pelosi Brings Up Melania When Criticizing Trump’s Merit-Based Immigration Plan

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invoked First Lady Melania Trump when attacking the White House’s latest immigration proposal, suggesting the president was a hypocrite for wanting a merit-based immigration system.

“When the president says merit – turn it upside down. It means make America white again, have people leave, just go back and we’ll just let in people we like,” Pelosi said Wednesday while speaking at Commonwealth Club of California.

“I don’t know merit counted for when his wife’s family came into the country. I don’t know. Maybe it did. God bless them if it did. But he calls that chain migration, which he wants to get rid of — family unification, instead call it merit,” the California Democrat added. The comment was in clear reference to Melania’s parents, who became U.S. citizens after she sponsored them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know about you, but I find Melania to be quite impressive!

Pope Francis Compares Trump’s Border Wall to Berlin Wall

Pope Francis compared the border wall going up between the U.S. and Mexico to the Berlin Wall built in 1961 to keep East Germans from escaping into West Berlin and freedom.

Asked by Mexican reporter Valentina Alazraki what he thought of the Trump wall and of children being separated from the parents at the border, the pope said that building the wall is a mistake.

“I do not know what is going on with this new culture that defends territories by building a wall,” the pope said in a lengthy Spanish-language interview published Tuesday by Vatican News. “We already dealt with one, the one in Berlin, which brought us enough headaches and enough suffering.”

“But it seems that man does what animals do not do, right?” he continued. “Man is the only animal that falls into the same hole twice. We are repeating the same thing, right? Building walls as if that were a defense.”

Bilderberg 2019 Annotated Members List

I prefer an in depth look at the participants which is why I have been doing annotated Bilderberg participants lists for several years. This year has lots of AI experts. As usual lots of military experts and bankers plus media and politicians. But lots of experts in populist revolts and movements. Based on their invitations to attend, they seem to want to co-opt gender studies, Gays, Greens and the Trump administration.

Ted Cruz Explains to Ilhan Omar That What She Said About Immigration is Racist

Senator Ted Cruz chastised Ilhan Omar over a since-deleted tweet that suggested Latino immigrants aren’t capable of competing in a merit-based immigration system.

President Trump recently unveiled a new plan to overhaul America’s broken immigration system by creating a new merit-based legal immigration system. The plan, according to the President, will favor immigrants who have “the skills our economy needs.”

A merit-based system “protects American wages and safety net programs, prioritizes immediate families, and creates a fair and transparent process for immigration to America,” a statement on the White House website reads.

Representative Omar (D-MN) believes that by implementing such a system, Latino immigrants would be at a disadvantage. On her Twitter feed, she accused the plan of being racist.

Bannon-Led Border Wall Group Unveils Mile-Long Segment On Private Property

A non-profit organization established to privately fund President Trump's southern border wall has completed nearly a mile-long section on private land near El Paso, Texas.

We Build The Wall - a nonprofit founded by triple amputee veteran Brian Kolfage, boasts former White House Chief Strategist and former Breitbart executive Steve Bannon as its director, while former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is the effort's general counsel.

According to Kolfage, the segment took just three days to complete.

NEW MEXICO MAYOR ORDERS GROUP BUILDING BORDER WALL ON PRIVATE LAND TO STOP CONSTRUCTION

The mayor of Sunland Park, New Mexico, has issued a cease-and-desist order to a private group that raised millions to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The wall is being constructed by We Build The Wall, a private organization which began a GoFundMe fundraiser in December 2018 when President Donald Trump faced opposition from Congress in receiving a proposed $5 billion to construct the barrier.

To date, the group has raised over $22 million of a $1 billion goal, of which the group's leader, Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage, said has been established only because that is the highest monetary allotment that GoFundMe allows for a fundraiser.

The cease-and-desist order was issued on Tuesday after it was determined that the group did not have the proper permits for construction, city spokesperson Peter Ibardo told The Texas Tribune.

Fort Bragg soldiers indicted in marriage and immigration fraud sting

Two Fort Bragg soldiers and two African immigrants were indicted Thursday by a North Carolina grand jury, according to a release from the state’s Eastern District U.S. attorney.

Sgt. Edward Anguah and Spc. Ahmid Mohammed-Murtadaas, along with Nigerian citizen Kwaphoom Hoomkwap and Ghanaian citizen Sulemana Ibrahim, face federal charges stemming from a ring of soldiers who attempted to pair up female soldiers with foreign citizens, exchanging legal residency for Army marriage benefits and cash.

“The charges and allegations contained in the indictments are merely accusations,” according to the release. “The defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.”

An investigation by the Department of Homeland Security kicked off in December, after Army officials notified federal agents that a female soldier at Fort Bragg had entered into a contract marriage, arranged by other soldiers, with a Ghanaian immigrant.

Hungary Vows to Fight EU Mass Migration Agenda After Huge Election Win

Budapest has vowed to ‘keep Hungary Hungarian’ after the country’s governing Fidesz party won a massive victory in European Parliament elections on Sunday on a platform of countering mass immigration.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whose party won a record 52 per cent of the vote, said that the government would do everything it could to represent the will of the Hungarian people, who he said had trusted Fidesz to “bring change to Brussels” and to support a Europe of nations rather than a bureaucrat-run EU superstate, local media reports.

The outcome of these elections, which saw the left-wing Democratic Coalition placed second with just 16 per cent, also underlined Hungarians’ desire to “protect Christian culture” and to halt mass migration to the bloc, stressed the populist leader, speaking at a rally in Budapest.

DHS: ‘100 %’ Border Crossers with Children Being Released into U.S., Given Work Permits

Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kevin McAleenan confirmed to Congress this week that his agency is merely acting as a checkpoint for adults crossing the United States-Mexico border with children, as “100 percent” are being released into the interior of the country.

During a hearing before the Senate Homeland Security Committee, McAleenan said DHS is releasing “100 percent” of adult border crossers into the interior of the country who arrive with children at the southern border, including those who are not even asking for asylum.

Then, within four to six weeks, McAleenan said the adult border crossers who have been released into the U.S. are given work permits allowing them to take American jobs while they await their court hearings, oftentimes two years down the road.

Our Veterans Go Hungry and Homeless, Yet Lawbreakers Are Given Shelter — What?

Just when you thought Democrats could not go any lower, they pathetically surprise you.

The latest occurred on Tuesday when HUD Secretary Ben Carson took heat from their minions at a House Financial Services Committee hearing over his plan to deny public housing to illegal aliens.

When there are over 35,000 U.S. military veterans who sleep on the street every night, housing even one person who broke the law and now is a burden to this nation is a shameful thing — and a slap in the face to every one of those veterans.

"The New Right Is Beating the New Left. Everywhere. From Australia to Europe, the signs are multiplying that conservative populism is on the rise."

Sometimes political revolutions occur right before our eyes without us quite realizing it. I think that’s what’s been happening over the last few weeks around the world, and the message is clear: The populist "New Right" isn’t going away anytime soon, and the rise of the "New Left" is exaggerated.

Judge temporarily blocks Trump's border wall construction plans

A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the Trump administration's plan to spend billions to construct a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border with Defense Department funds.

U.S. District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam’s ruling halts the administration from using the reallocated funds for projects in specific areas in Texas and Arizona. Trump declared a national emergency in February to redirect funding from the Department of Defense to begin construction of his long-promised border wall.

EU Head Juncker Says People Who Love Their Country Are “Stupid”

President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker says that people who love their countries are “stupid”.

“These populist, nationalists, stupid nationalists, they are in love with their own countries,” Juncker told CNN, as if that was a bad thing.

How much of an out of touch globalist do you need to be not to recognize the total and complete self-own of a comment like that?

Juncker just gifted every Euro-skeptic movement on the continent a quote that they will throw back in the EU’s face for years to come.

He added that opposition to mass migration was driving populism, remarking, “They don’t like those coming from far away, I like those coming from far away … we have to act in solidarity with those who are in a worse situation than we are in.”
