Pentagon chief says he 'didn't see' intelligence suggesting Iran planned to attack four US embassies

Esper just hung Trump out to dry.

Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said on Sunday that he did not see intelligence that supported President Trump’s comments that the Iranian commander killed in a U.S. drone strike was plotting attacks against four U.S. embassies.

Esper said on CBS's "Face the Nation" that he shared Trump’s view that planning was underway but did not cite intelligence information he saw to support the claims.

US/UK Dirty Hands Behind Weekend Protest in Tehran?

If Macaire was involved in inciting anti-government protests in Tehran, likely in cahoots with the Trump regime, he could be declared persona non grata and expelled from the country.

US dirty hands were all over protests in Iran last November — responsible for violence, vandalism and chaos for days until put down.

Tactics included shootings, Molotov cocktail bombings, arson, and other vandalism against state facilities, barricades of burning tires and/or rubbish, blocking roads, and other hostile actions.

What happened was straight from the CIA/MI6/Mossad playbook. Saturday’s student protest in Tehran had similar fingerprints all over it.

Why Iran “Came Clean” Regarding Its Role in the UIA-752 Tragedy

Iran should be commended for ceasing all disinformation activities aimed at covering up its role in the UIA-752 tragedy, but it didn’t do this just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it realized that its international reputation would continue to suffer if it hadn’t reversed its narrative course when it did and it also wanted to avoid the imposition of further sanctions against it for what happened.

Reports Show Soleimani was Lured to Iraq by Trump Himself then Murdered

Correct me if I am wrong, Trump is the first President to openly claim credit for the assassination of a foreign chief of state. Historically, heads of state are assassinated by the CIA as black budget operations, giving a president plausible deniability in the press. Trump in this case both admits responsibility for the strike and is actively taunting the Iranians with the death of their #2 on social media.

What president in their right mind would get on a public platform and brag about assassinating a head of state like Trump has done this last week, and then, on top of that, threaten 52 Iranian targets including cultural sites if they decide to respond with their own attacks?

PS752 Shot Down In Regime Change Attempt

We now know that it was a missile fired by an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) missile complex that brought down Ukrainian flight PS752. We also know that it was no accident, bur rather, a deliberate act.

Whether the missile was fired due to the actions of a human traitor within the IRGC or due to remote hacking into the missile’s control systems is unknown; however, the outcome is the same – nearly 200 dead civilians whose deaths can be blamed on the IRGC.

The idea behind the shootdown appears to be to undermine the current Iranian leadership by discrediting it’s main supporter – the IRGC.

Key Notes from Nasrallah speech marking one week after Soleimani assassination

Every single suicide bomb operation carried out by Daesh against our people (in the region) and in every mosque and church, must be labelled with ‘Made in America’

– America is the number one threat and Israel is merely a US tool and military outpost planted in our region

– The response to America’s crime (in killing Soleimani & Muhandis) is not one operation, but rather a long track which must lead to US forces leaving the region

– What happened in Ain Al-Assad is only a slap & not the (entire) revenge for the assassination. It is a strong military beginning. It is the first step that will lead to the withdrawal of US from the region

– The main target (of Iran’s missile attack) was Ain al-Assad, the missiles reached the heart of the base and struck their targets

– When (certain) media began to say there were no deaths or injuries & downplayed the attack, we knew Trump will not go to war

Coincidence? Trump Admin Had Five Pentagon Officials Resign Prior To Assassination Of Iran General

By Aaron Kesel

There are many who accuse U.S. President Donald Trump of “wagging the dog” when it comes to the recent bombing that killed Al Quds commander Qassem Soleimani due to the fact he is facing impeachment. While many media outlets have stated this accusation suggesting the assassination of Iran’s Soleimani was pre-planned, to this writer’s knowledge no one has pointed out that five total Pentagon officials resigned prior to the murder or Eric Trump’s strange tweet about “opening a can of whoop ass,” right before the New Year.

The Iran Tinderbox: America Dicing With Death

Days after the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani, new and important information is coming to light from a speech given by the Iraqi prime minister. The story behind Soleimani’s assassination seems to go much deeper than what has thus far been reported.

The Iraqi prime minister, Adil Abdul-Mahdi, has revealed details of his interactions with Trump in the weeks leading up to Soleimani’s assassination.

He tried to explain several times on live television how Washington had been browbeating him and other Iraqi members of parliament to toe the American line, even threatening to engage in false-flag sniper shootings of both protesters and security personnel in order to inflame the situation.

The purpose? To throw Iraq into chaos.

Ukraine Airliner Down: Does Anybody Remember USG Targeting IR655? Sent to the Memory Hole in the exceptional nation.

The shoot-down of a Ukrainian airliner is the latest propaganda ploy by the state to further demonize Iran and prepare for war. Unfortunately, there are a lot of folks who experience amnesia during such events.

@iheartmindy

"In case you missed it, Iran did shoot down that civilian passenger plane killing all 176 people on board because their backwards country is too GD incompetent to wait for an airspace to be clear of civilian aircraft before launching a missile attack."

I suppose she deserves a pass, being young and more than likely “educated” in a public school and like far too many Americans believes whatever the USG tells her.

Obviously, she is unaware of this, rarely talked about in the exceptional nation:

TRUMP THREATENED TO CUT OFF BAGHDAD'S ACCESS TO ITS NY FED CASH

SOURCE: ZERO HEDGE
After rejecting Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi's request to begin talks on the withdrawal of American troops, there are now more signs of the eroding ties between the two countries.

The Wall Street Journal reports that according to Iraqi officials (yes, Iraq has anonymous sources too), the Trump administration warned Iraq this week that it risks losing access to a critical government bank account if Baghdad kicks out American forces.

We are sure, to Schiff et al., that sounds a lot like 'quid pro quo', but how will they balance the need to hammer the president with their neocon/establishment desire to keep boots on the ground, whatever it takes?

The warning regarding the Iraqi central bank account was conveyed to Iraq’s prime minister in a call on Wednesday, according to an official in his office, that also touched on the overall military, political and financial partnership between the two countries.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This miserable military adventurism is about to go "mammary glands vertical" for the US in Iraq, for several reasons:

1. Iraq, China launch 'oil for reconstruction' agreement

2. President Trump has threatened Iraq with never leaving until Iraq pays for its air base there, Trump Says US Will Not Leave Iraq Until Baghdad Pays for American Air Base, Threatens Sanctions

3. Trump threatens Iraq sanctions as Iran ends nuclear commitments

4. And, last, but certainly not least, the following statement on the Soulemani assassination, by the Iranian cleric in Iraq, Muktada Al-Sadr:
The leader of the Sadr movement, Muqtada al-Sadr reacted to the martyrdom of Commander of IRGC Quds Brigade, General Ghasem Soleimani, saying that his militias are ready to defend Iraq.

Now, Iraq's Prime Minister may be attempting to back down, slightly, from his original positions that the US has to leave, and soon:

Despite U.S.-Iraq Feud, Iraqi Prime Minister Privately Mulls Delay of U.S. Troop Departure

The article goes on to state: "But privately, Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi has been trying to slow-roll the American departure, Iraqi advisors say, fearful not just of Trump’s threatened sanctions, but of the departure of Western investment along with the foreign troops, and a resurgence of the so-called Islamic State without U.S. assets to hunt it.

Mahdi, too, is trying to slow down the car crash, privately weighing options that would see only some U.S. troops withdraw, or extend the drawdown over a long period of time, says an Iraqi official who advises the prime minister. “The Parliament wants to eject coalition troops fighting against (ISIS)…but not specialized people who came to help the Iraqi security apparatus by training them,” the advisor told TIME Monday."

Please note, however, that the last statements are completely unsourced, so this TIMES article may have been pure codswallop, verbally engineered for US consumption, so that most TIMES-reading people would would not think, for a second, that the US has lost the Iraq war to China; and China did not have to fire one shot to have this happen.

PROTESTERS DEMAND SUPREME LEADER AYATOLLAH KHAMENEI STEP DOWN, AFTER THE COUNTRY’S MILITARY ADMITTED TO "ACCIDENTALLY" DOWNING A UKRAINIAN PASSENGER JET: SMELLS LIKE WESTERN STATECRAFT IS FULLY IN PLAY HERE:

A group of Iranian protesters demanded Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei step down on Saturday after Tehran said that its military had mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian plane, killing all 176 people on board.

"Commander-in-chief [Khamenei] resign, resign," videos posted on Twitter showed hundreds of people chanting in front of Tehran's Amir Kabir university.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if the US, or israel, possibly has a mole in Iranian chain of command, who gave the go/no go order to shoot down a passenger jet.

The Iranian people are many things, but one of them... is not stupid.

So they do not like it, when the leadership of their government appears to be acting in a stupidly cavalier manner, killing a bunch of innocent civilians.

Prayers for all of the victims' families, and friends, for this horrific loss.

Twenty-six Things About the Islamic State (ISIS-ISIL-Daesh) that Obama and Trump Do Not Want You to Know About

Addressing the Nation from the White House in late October 2019, “Trump said al-Baghdadi killed himself and three of his children, detonating a suicide vest as U.S. forces closed in after a “dangerous and daring” U.S.-led air raid in northwestern Syria.

Did Pompeo Dupe Trump Into the Soleimani Hit??

Donald Trump is under the illusion that the fracas with Iran is over. He thinks that Iran’s pinprick missile strikes on US bases in Iraq have assuaged Tehran’s thirst for revenge. But he’s wrong. The missile strikes were merely the first salvo in an epic cage match between Iran’s Axis of Resistance and its 70 year-long nemesis, the United States. As Iran’s Supreme Leader said on Wednesday, the missile attacks were not sufficient payback for the assassination of Iran’s most decorated military hero, Qassem Soleimani. They were just “a slap”, just Round One in what will surely be a long and bloody campaign aimed at driving the US out of the Middle East.

President Vladimir Putin and Chancellor Angela Merkel have agreed that preserving the Iran nuclear deal is a matter of “tremendous importance” stressing that the agreement should be kept by all means necessary.

Speaking to journalists in Moscow following her meeting with Putin, Merkel said that “everything must be done to keep the JCPOA going” and vowed to use “all the diplomatic tools to help this agreement.”

It’s Our Own Leader, Donald Trump, Who Is ‘Blood-Thirsty’ and ‘Blood-Soaked’

How about General Stanley McChrystal, the guy who organized and paid off death squads in Iraq, and who, as head of the secretive Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) oversaw notoriously criminal and brutal interrogations in that country and later Afghanistan, and then moved his death squad proclivities to that latter country when he took over command of the Afghanistan War? How about Marine General “Mad Dog” Mattis, who earned his monicker for saying, “You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn’t wear a veil. The reality we must face: Our Country, the United States, is a Rogue Nation and Our Leaders are Criminals

For as long as I’ve been alive, my country has been a rogue state.

Actually, the US became a rogue state four years before my birth in 1949 when, in 1945, Washington decided to bomb two militarily insignificant cities in Japan with its new super weapon, the atomic bomb, instantly incinerating several hundred thousand Japanese civilians, including many, many children, and condemning at least that many more to slow agonizing deaths from resulting cancers and birth defects.

US officials have said they have no intention of leaving Iraq, but they’re skirting the legal reality of the situation by saying they’ve yet to get a formal request from Iraq to leave. How long they can maintain that pretense by simply telling Iraq not to talk about it remains to be seen.

Iraq is already looking for holes in this fairly transparent attempt to avoid discussion, with Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi asking Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to devise some sort of mechanism whereby Iraq could actually request the US to leave.

Those Americans who speak out against the insanity of the district of criminals are the next people who will be targeted by the US Military for death!

The American people are now facing a new political challenge brought on by the recent U.S. assassinations of Iranian and Iraqi military figures.

On January 8, 2020, Iran used ballistic missiles to attack U.S. air bases in Iraq, in response to the U.S.-targeted killing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF) commander Qasem Soleimani.

The precise character of the attack also confirms that Iran’s missile capabilities have advanced considerably in recent years. American Leadership Is Discredited — Will a New Leader Step Forward?

This morning (January 7) Pompeo, the embarrassment we suffer as our Secretary of State, was on TV promising to “confront and contain” Iran. A political general was featured declaring that he had seen the intelligence reports and was certain that the murder of Soleimani had stopped an attack. If the general saw any such “intelligence” it was fixed intelligence to produce the desired result. Regardless, Soleimani’s murder was a crime and an act of war. The previous day Pompeo suggested that Trump might have to kill some more Iranian leaders, because Obama had emboldened Iran by appeasing them. This is just another of Pompeo’s false accusations. Obama accepted the agreement that Iran would not enrich uranium to the extent required by weapons. Inspectors have verified that Iran has kept the agreement.

It was Trump, pushed by Israel’s agents, the neoconservatives, who broke the agreement and restarted the conflict with Iran by issuing threat after threat.

Pompeo’s Gulf Of Tonkin Incident

The Soleimani ploy has apparently failed, however, thanks to the carefully prepared Iranian response, which did not provoke Donald Trump to raise the stakes further. At least not yet.

The fingerprints of Pompeo are all over this provocation to war. In a striking parallel to the deception that accompanied the Gulf of Tonkin crisis in 1964—in which the American public was told about an attack on a U.S. ship that never happened, precipitating the Vietnam War—Pompeo and his allies carried out a complex deception in regard to the Soleimani hit. They claimed they had to kill the second most popular leader of Iran with no advance notice to Congress because the Iranian general was planning a massive attack that put the country in “imminent” danger. Trump officials have so far not provided any evidence publicly to back up this version of events.

Now the truth emerges: how the US fuelled the rise of Isis in Syria and Iraq

The war on terror, that campaign without end launched 14 years ago by George Bush, is tying itself up in ever more grotesque contortions. On Monday the trial in London of a Swedish man, Bherlin Gildo, accused of terrorism in Syria, collapsed after it became clear British intelligence had been arming the same rebel groups the defendant was charged with supporting.

The prosecution abandoned the case, apparently to avoid embarrassing the intelligence services. The defence argued that going ahead with the trial would have been an “affront to justice” when there was plenty of evidence the British state was itself providing “extensive support” to the armed Syrian opposition.

While many media outlets have stated this accusation suggesting the assassination of Iran’s Soleimani was pre-planned, to this writer’s knowledge no one has pointed out that five total Pentagon officials resigned prior to the murder or Eric Trump’s strange tweet about “opening a can of whoop ass,” right before the New Year...

House Passes War Powers Challenge to Attack on Iran

If passed by Senate, it cannot be vetoed by President Trump.

In a vote heavily split along party lines, the House of Representatives passed H.Con.Res.83, a War Powers Resolution seeking to limit President Trump’s ability to unilaterally attack Iran without any Congressional authorization, by a vote of 224-194. It also opposed last week’s attack on the Baghdad International Airport, which assassinated Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

Though many Republicans argued it was non-binding, analyst Robert Naiman pointed out that under the War Powers Act’s own language, this type of resolution is binding. The concurrent resolution could not be vetoed by the president.

Supporters of the bill noted that Trump carried out the attack without significant Congressional dialogue, let alone authorization. They added that President Trump has shown himself unable to articulate a real strategy for the war.

How Congress Can Stop Trump’s Iran War

Trump has now committed real impeachable offenses.

The United States’ targeted airstrike against Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq has placed the U.S. on the precipice of an undeclared war with Iran, a hostile and militarily sophisticated foreign government, all without the consent of Congress.

Trump’s decision to strike without notifying congressional leaders is without precedent in history. There’s also no precedent for an American president openly ordering the killing of a senior state official of a country on which the U.S. has not officially declared war.

After Missiles Fly, Iraq Becomes the Battleground

The future of the U.S.’s involvement in the Middle East is in Iraq. The exchange of hostilities between the U.S. and Iran occurred wholly on Iraqi soil and it has become the site on which that war will continue.

The defenders of Syria can soon transition into the rebuilders thereof, if allowed. And they didn’t do this alone, they had a silent partner in China the entire time.

And, if I look at this situation honestly, it was China stepping out from behind the shadows into the light that is your inciting incident for this chapter in Iraq’s story.

China moving in to sign a $10.1 billion deal with the Iraqi government to begin the reconstruction of its ruined oil and gas industry in exchange for oil is of vital importance.

“Trump Didn’t Get the Message!” Iran’s Military, Iraqi Militia Pledge More Retaliation!

The attacks on the US military bases in Iraq are just the beginning. The retaliatory operation will continue throughout the region. This was stated by the Iranian military command. The successor to the killed General Suleimani, the new commander of the Al-Quds Special Forces, said that they weren’t going to turn off the planned path.

Another Stupid War

When asked by a reporter for details about what kinds of imminent attacks Soleimani was planning, the State Dept. responds with:

"Jesus, do we have to explain why we do these things?"

Totally normal.

Naturally, we learned soon after from the Iraqi PM himself that Soleimani was in Iraq as part of a diplomatic effort to de-escalate tensions. In other words, he was apparently lured to Baghdad under false pretenses so he’d be a sitting duck for a U.S. strike. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

America the Repugnant. Assassinating Foreign Leaders Is an Act of War

Trump is now the Head Swamp Monster. What this war criminal did is an impeachable offence and a war crime. This moron has put a target on the back of every US Government official.

Once upon a time there was a Constitution of the United States. In Article II, Section 2 it stipulated that only the U.S. Congress has the power to declare war, which means the American president has to go to the legislative body and make a case for going to war against an enemy or enemies. If there is a vote in favor of war, the president is empowered as commander-in-chief to direct the available resources against the enemy.

A New Middle East “made in Iran” is about to be born

Targeting a base with thousands of officers and soldiers from hundreds of kilometres away and deliberately avoiding human casualties shows incredible self-confidence in Iran’s manufacture of their own missiles. Iran has shown the strength and technical ability to bomb the most powerful US base in Iraq with precision missiles and has now twice shown mercy by not killing US servicemen.

Iran May Have a Fleet of Communist Killer Dolphins

Is it just me.....pun intended,or did somebody just jump the shark?

Iran has some surprising weapons at its disposal. In a 2002 U.S. military exercise that pitted Iran against an invasion from an American task force, the general in command of the opposition was retired Lt. Gen. Paul Van Riper. He used motorcycles, small fast-attack boats, land-based missile batteries and even suicide attacks against the Americans.

But he apparently forgot to use Iran's killer dolphin units.

FLASHBACK: Iran Warns US Diego Garcia Base is in Its Range

6 Year old article.

A senior Iranian official says that the US's Indian Ocean base at the Diego Garcia island atoll, considered well out of range of Iran's missiles, is in fact within its ballistic missile range.

According to Channel 2, the official said that “In the case of a mistake by the United States, its military bases in Bahrain and 'Garcia Hill' [the Diego Garcia base] in the Indian Ocean will not be safe from Iran's missiles."

The AngloZionist Empire vs Iran: a discussion of the recent events

First, since we have more reliable data about what happened, let me recap a few key points to being:

It is has now become pretty clear that Iran took several steps to make sure that the US would know when and where the strike would happen. Specifically, Iran warned the Iraqi government and the Swiss diplomats who represent US interests in Iran.
Yet, at the same time, Iran issued the strongest threat it could possibly issue: it told the US that *any* counter-strike aimed at Iran would result in a strong Iranian attack on Israel.
The US quite clearly took the decision not to retaliate and to “forget” Trump’s promise to strike at 54 Iranian targets. I want to stress here that this was the correct decision under these circumstances.

The Islamic Republic of Restraint

What if it’s Iran that’s avoided war?
by Maj. Danny Sjursen, USA (ret.) Posted on January 09, 2020

Don’t buy the hype 1.0: Look, the administration, Fox News, and a Twitter army of Trumpsters are about to unleash a wave of propaganda. The president was right to assassinate Soleimani all along, they’ll say. The Iranian missiles fired on Tuesday night missed all American targets – perhaps on purpose – resulting in zero U.S. military casualties. Trump must’ve known the Iranians would flinch, we’ll be told. His hard line, his provocative escalation, was all part of a grand strategy – the master dealmaker strikes again!

That’s all balderdash!

Nervous Saudis try to ease Middle East tensions

Riyadh fears it will be in the frontline of any war in the Gulf – and it cannot rely on Trump.

Saudi Arabia has sent a message to Washington and London that it wants to see a de-escalation of the United States’ struggle with Iran, in a sign that Saudi is nervous about its vulnerability to Iranian missile strikes – and still uncertain about the reliability of Donald Trump’s long-term commitment to his Gulf allies.

The tone has been sent out in an array of diplomatic tweets since the assassination of General Qassem Suleimani, but also conveyed personally by the Saudi Arabian deputy defence minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman.

He held meetings this week with Trump and Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, in Washington and then in London with the defence secretary,

Is US attempting to play an Israeli strategy out against Iran?

By Robert Inlakesh

The United States may have planned the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani as a way of attempting to both keep US President Donald Trump in power by making him appear strong and also driving a wedge between the regional resistance axis, led by Iran.

If the US continually claims that none of its soldiers have been killed or injured and continues to downplay the Iranian response. If Trump then decides not to escalate and also pulls his troops out of Iraq, we will know that this was perhaps their strategy from the beginning. Trump would then appear - due to US media manipulation - as a strong president, to his own people, also being a president who has followed up on his promise to get out of Iraq.

This may be a strategy that is employed, but perhaps this strategy will backfire very badly if they miscalculate in any areas. If the US acts aggressively, it could start a Middle East wide war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question is, how far will the government of Israel allow the US military to de-escalate, before they get the US/Iranian war for which they have been cheerleading for so many years?!?

They are certainly not unfamiliar with false flags, and may have several plans in place to make it impossible for the US government and military not to react.

Iran Successfully Defends Its Right to Exist

After notoriously pulling out from the so-called Iran nuclear deal (officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed by Iran and the major world nations in 2015), Donald Trump, having overestimated his might, decided he would be able to break the Iranians’ will by imposing sanctions and make them dance to the USA’s tune within just a few days.

Trump, using the capabilities of the powerful US Army and intimidating many countries around the world, imposes more and more unthinkable sanctions against the weaker Iran, trying to force the Iranians to capitulate in the face of hunger, fear and exhaustion.

Truly Draconian sanctions have been imposed even on food supplies, on medicines and medical equipment, which especially impacts perinatal centers and cancer control facilities.

Top IRGC General: Strikes on US Forces in Iraq Just Beginning of Full-Scale Op Across Region

Iran launched a missile strike on US positions in Iraq in retaliation for the assassination of its IRGC General Qasem Soleimani. According to US statements, this attack didn't result in any casualties and only caused minor damage to American bases.

Head of the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh has stated that the 8 January missile attack on American bases in neighbouring Iraq was only the start of a series of attacks that will take place across the entire region, Tasnim News Agency reported. The general further shared that the country had hundreds of missiles ready for launch, when it carried out strikes and added that Tehran conducted cyberattacks on the same day against American plane and drone navigation systems.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I'm hoping and praying, that this is only hyperbole; unfortunately, my gut is telling me otherwise, and big-time.

Trump is a Criminal, But the Democrats Belong to the Same Mafia

Iranian national pride required a pantomimed military response, but the U.S. has provoked a far worse punishment by the Iraqis, on whose territory Suleimani was ambushed. The Iraqi parliament swiftly voted 170-0 to kick the 5,000 US troops out of their country, an exodus that would render Washington’s foothold in neighboring Syria untenable, thus sealing the fate of the remaining U.S.-backed al-Qaida “rebels” holed up in Idlib province and hastening the demise of ISIS forces currently shielded from Russian air attack by U.S. firepower. Donald Trump, who (correctly, but incoherently) charged Barack Obama with “founding ” ISIS, may well have fast-forwarded the definitive end of the U.S.-Islamic jihadist presence in Syria and Iraq.

Not that this was Trump’s intention. The Republicans and Democrats are united under the American imperial banner, and only differ on details of strategy to maintain Washington’s global domination.

Soleimani assassination only one of many (and not the most consequential) US acts of war against Iran

January 5, 2020

By Stephen Gowans

While the assassination of an Iranian general by a US drone attack in Iraq has been construed in some quarters as a consequential act of war, it is only one, in a long series of US actions, that constitute de facto acts of war by the United States against Iran that have caused considerable harm to the country.

Ever since Iranians overthrew the US puppet ruler, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, in 1979, Washington has pursued an unceasing campaign of aggression against the sovereign state with the aim of returning Iran to its orbit. Since 2018, US aggression has intensified.

IN AN ERA OF BIG TECH CENSORSHIP, BIG PHARMA INTOXICATION, AND BIG GOVERNMENT SURVEILLANCE, SOLEIMANI’S DEATH IS A “WIN” FOR NO ONE

Mike Adams
January 8th, 2020
Natural News

Soleimani may be dead, but censorship is alive and well in America, and no one in any position of power is fighting against it.

The Pentagon said Soleimani had to be taken out because he was planning “imminent” combat operations against United States persons. Yet Big Tech has already completed its online combat operations against tens of millions of Americans, having successfully banned, demonetized, smeared, slandered and de-platformed nearly every voice that supports the very freedoms America is supposedly fighting for in the Middle East. This abundantly demonstrates the absurdity of any claim that blowing up people in Iraq or Iran somehow makes us “more free” in America. The claim that the Pentagon is “fighting for freedom” is total propaganda.

Iran-Backed Militia Fires Three Rockets At US Embassy In Baghdad

Summary:

3 Katyusha rockets land in Baghdad's Green Zone which houses government buildings, foreign missions and the US embassy.
The target was US embassy
Sirens go off at embassy
One rocket fell between embassy and a Govt building (Mayadeen)
It was supposed to be a day of de-escalation, so when Reuters, Sky News Arabia, Fox News and other sources reported that "several" Katuysha rockets were fired by the IRGC-backed Kataib Hezbollah and hit the Green Zone in Baghdad and explosions have been heard...

Webmaster's Commentary:

And we know that these militias in Iraq are Iranian backed, because.... the US government, that same US government which 19 years ago, lied this country into a war of aggression against Iraq, told us so?!?

NOT SO FAST, TRUMP ADMINISTRATION!!

I would like some irrefutable proof, please, before I jump on this particular band-wagon, which of course, the Trump Administration is pathologically incapable of providing, right?!?!?

It could just have easily been Mossad, desperately trying to get a further escalation going.

Iraq Reopens Negotiations For Purchase Of Russian S-300 Air Defense Systems

With Iraq's airspace being frequently violated by American and even Israeli bombing raids against the country's paramilitary units backed by Iran of late, Iraq has for the last several months considered purchasing Russian air defense and missile systems, including both the S-300 and more advanced S-400, however, it has been met with fierce pressure from the US.

And now Russian media is reporting authorities in Baghdad have formally resumed talks to possibly acquire the S-300 systems. Head of the Iraqi Parliament’s Security and Defense Committee, Mohammad Reza, has indicated negotiations were renewed following the latest attacks initiated nearly two weeks ago on Shiite Popular Mobilization Forces.

"The issue was supposed to be solved several months ago after attacks on Shiite militia al-?ashd ash-Sha'bi [Popular Mobilization Forces, PMF] bases in Baghdad and other provinces created the need for such air defenses", the lawmaker was quoted in Russia's Sputnik as saying.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And who in their right mind can blame Iraq for wanting the S-300 defensive system?!? It is battle-ready, and it has been shown in Syria to outclass anything the US has in its arsenal right now.

Major U.S. Military Contractors Stand to Reap Huge Windfalls from Escalation of Conflict with IranMeet the CEOs Raking It in from Trump’s Aggression toward Iran

I took a look at how the CEOs at the top five Pentagon contractors were affected by this surge, using the most recent SEC information on their stock holdings.

Northrop Grumman executives saw the biggest increase in the value of their stocks after the U.S. airstrike that killed Qasem Suleimani on January 2. Shares in the B-2 bomber maker rose 5.43 percent by the end of trading the following day.

Wesley Bush, who turned Northrop Grumman’s reins over to Kathy Warden last year, held 251,947 shares of company stock in various trusts as of his final SEC Form 4 filing in May 2019. (Companies must submit these reports when top executives and directors buy and sell company stock.) Assuming Bush is still sitting on that stockpile, he saw the value grow by $4.9 million to a total of $94.5 million last Friday.

New Northrop Grumman CEO Warden saw the 92,894 shares she’d accumulated as the firm’s COO expand in value by more than $2.7 million in just one day of post-assassination trading.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Karl Marx was absolutely not smoking opium, when he observed that all wars are economic in their origin.

Can you imagine how much these Merchants of Death will make, if Iran (and Russia) get into a shooting war with US military?!?

The short version is, a bundle!!

Jan 09 12:50

No Shame, No Honor, No Heart

The rationale for Soleimani’s death is based on accusations as the world’s number one terrorist and being responsible for hundreds of American deaths in pursuit of Iranian aggression. Any claim of aggression by middle eastern countries glosses over the fact that they are defending their homelands in opposition to US military invasions. It is the US who are the aggressors by invading a country 6,000 miles away to steal their natural resources and to fight on behalf of creating Israeli hegemony throughout the Middle East.

Does any Middle East country have the right of self defense when a foreign army invades their sovereign soil and what does it say when the world’s leading purveyors of war, death and destruction point the finger to those fighting to defend their homeland? The truth is that every country where the US has initiated conflict is no military threat to the US – until they are invaded as they respond to protect their home turf.

The Deeper Story Behind the Assassination of Soleimani. Washington Threats to Engage in False flag Sniper Shootings. Iraq Prime Minister

Here is the reconstruction of the story:

[Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq] Halbousi attended the parliamentary session while almost none of the Sunni members did. This was because the Americans had learned that Abdul-Mehdi was planning to reveal sensitive secrets in the session and sent Halbousi to prevent this. Halbousi cut Abdul-Mehdi off at the commencement of his speech and then asked for the live airing of the session to be stopped. After this, Halbousi together with other members, sat next to Abdul-Mehdi, speaking openly with him but without it being recorded. This is what was discussed in that session that was not broadcast:

Abdul-Mehdi spoke angrily about how the Americans had ruined the country and now refused to complete infrastructure and electricity grid projects unless they were promised 50% of oil revenues, which Abdul-Mehdi refused.

The complete (translated) words of Abdul-Mahdi’s speech to parliament:

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF what Prime Minister Abdul-Mehdi is saying is true (and I believe it to be), then what the President had done, was an insane, and unhinged, retaliation because of a business deal between China and Iraq to develop its oil, preventing a US-centric company from doing this.

Folks, this is more than a little scary to me, and it should be to you as well.

Warrior Trump Seeking Peace? Permanent War Remains Official US Policy

Seymour Melman explained that “every major aspect of American life is…shaped by our Permanent War Economy” — peace and stability anathema notions to bipartisan US policymakers.

Militarism, endless wars of aggression, and corporate handouts come at the expense of unmet human needs.

Anti-nuclear activist/physician Helen Caldicott stressed that the US “addiction (to wars) in (the) nuclear age, (could) destroy all life on earth, creating the final epidemic of the human race.”

Trump is captive to dark forces controlling him, a geopolitical know-nothing businessman/TV personality transformed into a warrior president, escalating inherited wars, risking new ones.

Endless wars serve US imperial aims. World peace and stability defeat them — what was likely explained to Trump straightaway after taking office.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lendman has this entirely correctly.

Jan 09 12:36

The State of the Iranian Crisis. Will Trump “Escalate” or “De-escalate”?

Possibly Trump will apply “crippling sanctions” as a cover for withdrawal from most of the Middle East. Iran wants the US out, and Trump’s original intention was to withdraw before Russiagate forced him to stay. Thus, both Trump and Iran have a common interest in US withdrawal. Although the Iranian missiles killed no one, they did demonstrate to Israel that the Iranian missiles have pin point accuracy. As Israel is a small land area, the accuracy of Iranian missiles possibly has changed Israel’s mind about provoking a war. If Israel also stands down, perhaps the crisis is over.

US Regional Presence Makes Middle East Peace and Stability Unattainable
On the other hand, the neoconservatives will be unhappy. They see chaos in Iran as a way of spreading instability into the Russian Federation. The military/security complex will be unhappy as US withdrawal would downsize their profits. US oil interests will be unhappy to lose the Iraqi oil.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Here's hoping (and in my case, praying) that Paul Craig Roberts is entirely correct in his assessment; but there is one wild-card still waiting to play its hand; and that wild card will be Israel.

I really have to wonder if Netanyahu didn't put President Trump up to this , and now, to attempt to take pressure off from his corruption accusations, since he won the Israeli Prime Minister spot handily in the last election.

Israeli intelligence makes it their business, to know the most they can about every political and wealthy figure, all over the globe; one has to wonder just what he, and/or Mossad, may have on the President which caused him to act so very irrationally a to assassinate Souleimani?

I don't think is over, by a long shot; but the US and/or Israel are going to have to work fast to get an escalation going before Congress restrains the President's war powers.

The Deeper Story Behind the Assassination of Soleimani

The story behind Soleimani’s assassination seems to go much deeper than what has thus far been reported, involving Saudi Arabia and China as well the US dollar’s role as the global reserve currency.

Exclusive: U.N. investigators find Yemen's Houthis did not carry out Saudi oil attack

Yemen's Houthi group did not launch an attack on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities in September, according to a confidential report by U.N. sanctions monitors seen by Reuters on Wednesday, bolstering a U.S. accusation that Iran was responsible.

The United States, European powers and Saudi Arabia blamed Iran for the Sept. 14 attack on the Saudi Aramco <2222.SE> oil plants in Abqaiq and Khurais, dismissing a quick claim of responsibility by the Iran-allied Houthis. Tehran denied any involvement.

The report by the independent U.N. experts to the Security Council Yemen sanctions committee said, "That despite their claims to the contrary, the Houthi forces did not launch the attacks on Abqaiq and Khurais on 14 September 2019."

The findings of the U.N. report come amid escalating tensions in the region after the United States killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad and Tehran retaliated by firing missiles at military facilities housing U.S. troops in Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One definitely has to wonder about the "quid pro quo" from the UN, and the timing of this report.

And trust me, timing of reports like this... is never usually accidental; it is released when it gets released to forward the US government's agenda, period, end of discussion.

Trump Versus Iran: Power Doesn’t Just Corrupt, It Deludes

What was unremarkable – and unfortunate – in the speech was the obvious assumption underlying it: That the United States enjoys, and SHOULD enjoy, absolute power in international relations.

Trump is hardly unique in publicly stating, or in operating on, that assumption. The claim of such absolute power has been the tacit US doctrine of foreign relations since at least as far back as the end of World War Two.

America emerged from that war as the world’s sole nuclear power and, unlike other combatant countries, with its wealth virtually unscathed and its industrial capacity increased rather than demolished. Its rulers saw themselves as able, and entitled, to dictate terms to almost everyone, on almost everything.

“Power tends to corrupt,” wrote Lord Acton, “and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

And that ... is the problem with all contemporary US foreign policy; it is based on that illusion that this country is the best and brightest, and most powerful, and therefore deserves to be treated royally, by every foreign dignitary who comes to our shores, or with whom we are negotiating.

Take a look at the massive, urban homeless problem; at those people who had decent jobs, which were offshored or outsourced, who are now having to do a huge number of minimum wage jobs just to survive; and take a look at the education of our kids; if this is not, between a curriculum guaranteed to dumb our kids down, never mind the psychotropic drugs with which these kids can be drugged, sometimes without parental decision, a deliberate decision to prevent the kind of critical thinking so necessary for this country to survive, I do not know what is.

And our weaponry?!? Because of how the military industrial complex works, we are way behind Russia and China in the development of weapons, and that... is another problem as well.

I would very much like to see this country behaving in an adult, civilized and diplomatic manner, using hard-won, moral negotiations as their primary tactics in achieving the goals it wants; unfortunately, all the US government has seems to be able to do, to get what they want, is to
destabilize; regime change, if necessary; have American-vetted corporations expropriate that countrys' natural resources, to which they have no moral right; and insure that these resources are only sold... in the American dollar.

The Donald’s Assassination of General Soleimani – As Stupid as It Gets

During more than a half-century of Washington watching we have seen stupidity rise from one height to yet another. But nothing – just plain nothing – compares to the the blithering stupidity of the Donald’s Iran “policy”, culminating in the mindless assassination of its top military leader and hero of the so-called Islamic Revolution, Major General Qassem Soleimani.

To be sure, we don’t give a flying f*ck about the dead man himself. Like most generals of whatever army (including the US army), he was a cold-blooded, professional killer.

And in this day and age of urban and irregular warfare and drone-based annihilation delivered by remote joystick, generals tend to kill more civilians than combatants. The dead civilian victims in their millions of U.S. generals reaching back to the 1960s surely attest to that.

GOP Sen. Mike Lee: Trump Officials Told Senators Not to Debate War Authorization

After the Trump Administration’s 75-minute briefing to the US Senate on the assassination of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) was deeply critical, calling it the worst briefing he’d gotten in his nine years in the Senate.

Saying the administration’s briefers offered little on the legal or practical justification for the attack, Sen. Lee particularly took umbrage at them warning the Senators that they must not debate the War Powers authorization for a war with Iran.

Those giving the briefing objected to the very idea of the Senate discussing the matter publicly, saying it would “embolden Iran.” Sen. Lee noted that this is a power Constitutionally reserved explicitly for the legislature.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To President Trump and his minions; I believe that I remember correctly, that only Congress has the power to declare war.

Any other use of any war authorization of force, is extra-judicial, and therefore illegal, as was the war against Iraq, and the war against Afghanistan.

and there is also a companion piece, in antiwar.com, dated yesterday, with the following headline:

'We Need Everyone in the Streets': More Than 180 Events Planned Across US to Protest Trump's March to War With Iran

I would like to remind our readers, particularly those who are too young to remember it, that the very huge, and peaceful, demonstration in DC ultimately stopped the war against Vietnam.

KRIEGER: THE FINAL CHAPTER IN THE DECLINE OF US IMPERIAL DOMINANCE HAS BEGUN

ANOTHER STUPID WAR
All I wanted to do this week was work on part 2 of my localism series, but circumstances quickly got the best of me. The assassination of Iran’s top general Qassem Soleimani was an event of such historical significance, I feel obligated to detail my thoughts on what it means and how things unfold from here, especially given how much of a role geopolitics and questions of empire have played in my writings.

First off, we need to understand the U.S. is now at war with Iran. It’s an undeclared, insane and unconstitutional war, but it is war nonetheless. There is no world in which one government intentionally assassinates the top general of another government and that not be warfare. You can argue the U.S. and Iran were already engaged in low-level proxy wars, and that’s a fair assessment, but you can’t say we aren’t currently in far more serious a state of war. We are.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The next question is about not if things are about to get ugly; it is a question of when.

And that leads me to politely remind those in the deep recesses of the Bowels of Power in DC; there was an article, in the English language version of Moscow Times last summer, and the headline was;

Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says The article went on to state: “Iran will withstand this type of fight and Iran is not alone,” Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, said at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow."

I have to shake my head as a lay-person, who is not half-lousy with research, that if I am aware of this promise from Russia to Iran, WHY AREN'T THE FOLKS AT THE STATE DEPARTMENT, CONGRESS, THE OVAL OFFICE, AND THE PENTAGON AWARE OF THIS ALSO?!?!?

And unfortunately, just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could possibly do, is utterly no guarantee that they won't do it.

War with Russia over Iran?!? You have GOT to be flipping kidding me!!!!!

Suleimani succeeded in weakening America’s presence in the Middle East — even in death

If you study the military record of the late General Qassim Suleimani, you’ll see why U.S. military and political leaders feared his prowess, yet did not wish him dead.

Reports Show Soleimani was Lured to Iraq by Trump Himself then Murdered

Correct me if I am wrong, Trump is the first President to openly claim credit for the assassination of a foreign chief of state. Historically, heads of states are assassinated by the CIA as black budget operations giving a president plausible deniability in the press.

America the Repugnant. Assassinating Foreign Leaders Is an Act of War

Take the window dressing away from the Pentagon and media propaganda and all one has left is that the United States illegally and openly killed a senior official from a country with which it is not at war and did so without the consent of the third country where the assassination took place with which the U.S. is also not at war. The assassination was not in reality based on any imminent threat and is therefore illegal under international law and is undeniably an unconstitutional act of war directed against both Iran and Iraq.

Why President Trump Will Not Retaliate

Why President Trump Will Not Retaliate? I believe the President chose a wise decision in not retailing after Iran delivered the message or as Iran called it a retaliation. Iran has technology that the US cannot meditate and we may have seen this in the fact that the Patriot system did not stop Iran's weapons

Milley: Iranian missiles were meant to kill US troops in Iraq

This putz lies through his teeth. He dishonors America and the Uniform with his lies. The Iranians gave 2 hours warning through the Iraqis and 1 hour through the Swiss. This individual and his "Boss" Trump don't give a thought to the deaths of Americans. We are just cannon fodder to them and their Israeli masters.

THE PENTAGON — The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is disputing speculation that the Iranians tried to avoid killing any U.S. troops during their recent missile attacks on two bases in Iraq.
