‘NYT’ gives Netanyahu platform to race-bait Palestinian parties as ‘terrorists’ — without letting them respond

Right at the beginning of the New York Times‘s big article yesterday on the Israeli election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was given space to race-bait the group of Palestinian political parties in the campaign. Netanyahu said:

There won’t be, there can’t be a government that relies on the anti-Zionist Arab parties, parties that deny Israel’s very existence as a Jewish and democratic state. . . Parties that glorify and praise bloodthirsty terrorists who murder our soldiers, our citizens and our children. That simply cannot be.

When Donald Trump tells racist lies, the New York Times calls him out on it. Not here. It wasn’t until the 34th paragraph that the paper even quoted Palestinian leader Ayman Odeh — and it didn’t let Odeh counter the dishonest allegation that he “glorifies bloodthirsty terrorists.”

Netanyahu in on the plank

“Netanyahu, however, refuses to acknowledge that his time is up. His failure to form a new government after the April 9 election was strike one; his shock decision to call a new election rather than allow Gantz a chance to form a government was strike two; and his disappointing performance in Tuesday’s ballot, which saw Likud lose almost a quarter of its strength and the right relinquish its absolute majority, was strike three”

Israeli army raids Palestinian NGO’s office, a direct attack on human rights

Israeli occupation forces raided today, Thursday, 19 September 2019 at around 2:00am the office of Addameer Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association.

The Israeli forces stole five laptops, memory cards, three laptop memories, one laptop card, several books and additionally searching through the belongings of the office.

This is the third incident where the Israeli soldiers have raided the office, the first was in 2002 and the second incident was in 2012.

Israel: democracy or apartheid state?

I was inspired to write this article in light of recent political events in Britain. For some time there has been an Anti-Semitism in the Labour party ‘scandal’ which has intensified in recent months after Labour’s strong showing at the last General election under Jeremy Corbyn. There have been near-daily press reports accusing Jeremy Corbyn of Anti-Semitism, and he has put under a level of pressure that we have rarely seen in British Politics.

The Labour NEC (National Executive Committee) was asked to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of Anti-Semitism in full in-order to demonstrate action on the matter. Last week the NEC bowed to the pressure and did precisely that. The IHRA code offers a definition of Anti-Semitism and 11 examples of what constitutes Anti-Semitism. Many legal experts including the very author of the text have raised serious reservations about the code arguing, amongst other things, that it limits freedom of speech.

Army Cuts Off Water Supply to Jordan Valley Village

Israeli occupation forces, on Thursday, closed the water pipes which supply Palestinian residents in the village of Bardale, in the northern Jordan Valley, east of the occupied West Bank.

Member of Bardala village council, Dirar Sawafta, said that Israeli forces stormed the village in the early morning and closed a number of pipes which supply the area, without mentioning any reasons.

Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency further notes that this is not the first time Israeli forces have closed the pipes.

Last July, Israeli settlers seized a number of wells in the village, banning Palestinian shepherds from tending their live stocks.

Israelis Have Shown Netanyahu the Door. Can He Inflict More Damage Before He Exits?

Only a government of the far-right – one entirely beholden to Netanyahu – could be relied on to pass legislation guaranteeing him immunity from a legal process due to begin next month. Without it, he is likely to be indicted on multiple charges of fraud and breach of trust.

So desperate was Netanyahu to avoid that fate, according to reports published in the Israeli media on election day, that he was only a hair’s breadth away from launching a war on Gaza last week as a way to postpone the election.

Israel’s chief law officer, attorney general Avichai Mendelblit, stepped in to halt the attack when he discovered the security cabinet had approved it only after Netanyahu concealed the army command’s major reservations.

Tillerson: Netanyahu 'played' Trump with misinformation

Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said during a Tuesday interview with a panel of Harvard professors that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “played” President Trump numerous times, according to The Harvard Gazette.

Tillerson said Netanyahu was “a bit Machiavellian” and cultivated relationships with world leaders he anticipated would be useful later.

Tillerson added that Israeli officials would use misinformation if they believed it was necessary to win U.S. officials over to their side of an issue.

Israeli court approves use of Palestinian bodies as bargaining chips

A Palestinian family in the Jerusalem-area village of al-Eizariya has been unable to bury their 14-year-old son, who was killed by Israeli police last month.

Nassim Abu Rumi’s family has petitioned Israel’s high court to order the release of his body, which will be reportedly transferred on Friday. Israel will also be transferring the remains of Omar Younis, who died in an Israeli hospital in April after being shot by occupation forces at a West Bank checkpoint.

Israel is holding the remains of more than a dozen Palestinians recently killed during alleged and actual attacks on occupation forces and civilians.

This month, following a petition by several families whose relatives’ remains are being held by Israel, the country’s highest court rubber-stamped its approval of the policy.

Luongo: Will The Yemen War Be The End Of Saudi Arabia?

Authored by Tom Luongo, Zero Hedge

The attack on Saudi Arabia’s major oil processing station in Abqaiq over the weekend was a major turning point in global politics. It may be even bigger than many of us realize.

While forces within U.S. political circles, Israel and Saudi Arabia keep trying to shift the blame to Iran, the most likely scenario is that the Houthis in North Yemen were responsible for the attack as a follow up to last month’s hit which showed off the capabilities of their new drones.

That attack set the stage for the latest one in a classic case of the past being prologue. By showing the world it was capable of throwing drones anywhere in Saudi Arabia rebels in Yemen created plausibility for last weekend’s attack.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And there is a question which must be asked of our weapons makers, in closed door meetings ,with secure communications protocols in place, with President Trump attending every one of them, actually or virtually, particularly those who supported Candidate Trump when he ran for President in 2016;

Why did US military weapons have a 100 % failure rate during these attacks against the Saudi oil infrastructure?!?

Because I can tell you that global weapons buyers for their countries are looking at each other with astonishment, that the very weapons the US pedals to other countries, as the alleged "best of the best of the best", are the same weapons which failed, so critically, in the attack?!?

Escobar: How The Houthis Overturned The Chessboard

Authored by Pepe Escobar via The Saker blog,

The Yemeni Shiite group’s spectacular attack on Abqaiq raises the distinct possibility of a push to drive the House of Saud from power.

Houthi striking capability – from drone swarms to ballistic missile attacks – has been improving remarkably for the past year or so. It’s not by accident that the UAE saw which way the geopolitical and geoeconomic winds were blowing: Abu Dhabi withdrew from Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s vicious war against Yemen and now is engaged in what it describes as a “peace-first” strategy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That it was not expected that the Houthis could ever fight back, and in such an intensely destructive fashion, may have been the most spectacular failure of imagination, on the part of both American, and Saudi, intelligence.

Unfortunately, this moment of awareness has not stopped the US and Saudi Arabia from continuing to blame Iran (a convenient whipping boy, due to its oil wealth (and a product which they refuse to sell in US dollars) and general stability in the region.

I would like to politely suggest that both countries examine the statement of a Russian diplomat at the end of a consortium, stating the following:

Iran won't be alone if the US attacks it

This was stated by Iranian diplomat Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow.

I would strongly caution both the US and Saudi Arabia that this came down from the "big guy" himself, in Russian Politics, President Putin; I would also strongly caution both countries, that Putin meant what Kabulov stated.

Pompeo inadvertently admitted the Iran crisis is a 'direct result' of Trump's actions

As Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday defended the Trump administration's strategy toward Iran, he inadvertently acknowledged the recent tensions were a "direct result" of the president's decision to pull the US from the 2015 nuclear deal.
Pompeo was trying to make the case that things would be worse if the president hadn't withdrawn from the deal, which he called an "enormous failure."
But one former US official told Insider, "There is a direct line you can draw from Trump's violation of the Iran deal and the risk of conflict today."

What Trump’s Missteps on Iran Have Wrought

The United States has become a hi-tech Blackbeard.

ISTANBUL – The drone attack on Saudi Arabia oil facilities on September 14 is jolting the entire Middle East, the latest incident in a months-long battle between the Trump Administration and Iran. Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed credit for the devastating attack that shut down half of Saudi Arabia’s oil production. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blames Iran for the attack, while Iran has categorically denied it.
Let’s not forget that the Trump Administration started this low-level war by withdrawing from the Iran nuclear accord. The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously to ratify the agreement, so the U.S. stands in violation of UN resolutions and international law.

The only positive fact is that this time the Palestinian Israelis – according to Netanyahu – “Arab hordes,” who want to “destroy the Jewish state,” vote to eliminate him. The Palestinian parties and the anti-Zionist Communists, who joined the Alliance List alliance, achieved pleasing results with about 13 Knesset seats.

GULF WAR REPORT: U.S. STARTS PREPARATIONS FOR WAR WITH IRAN

The situation in the Middle East has continued heating up following the weekend strikes on Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure.

According to Syrian sources, on September 16 and September 17 mysterious explosions happened at positions of Iranian-backed forces in the area of al-Bukamal at the Syrian-Iraqi border. Pro-Israeli sources immediately linked the development with the supposed military activity of Israel and the US against Iran-linked targets in the region.

Over the past months, a number of similar explosions have happened at positions of Iranian-linked militias in Syria and Iraq. However, there is still no evidence to confirm Israeli involvement in these incidents.

Bibi’s out? Gantz refuses to meet with Netanyahu, says he will form unity govt without embattled PM

Benny Gantz, whose centrist bloc narrowly defeated Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party in a snap election, says he is forming a government that will exclude the current prime minister – signaling the end of Bibi’s era may be near.
The ex-IDF chief said on Thursday that he would not accept Netanyahu’s offer to discuss a unity government, keeping good on his campaign pledge to create a ruling coalition that does not include Bibi.

Israel Election Results: Trump Just Lost His Wall — the One He Called Bibi Netanyahu

True, Donald Trump promised and failed to deliver a wall paid for by the Mexicans he so viciously incited against. And true, he has forced military families into distress, their children denied proper schools and other necessities, just to pay for part of the wall he’s failed to deliver.

But, from the first and all along, the flailing president had one strong, imposing wall to fall back on. And now it’s gone. It was called Benjamin Netanyahu.

The purpose of the Trump Wall was never to protect Americans. Its sole purpose was to protect Trump. And now it’s gone.

Russia allegedly gives Syria green light to use S-300 system against Israeli warplanes

The Russian Armed Forces have allegedly given the Syrian military the green light to use their S-300 system against Israeli warplanes that enter their airspace, the Russian aviation publication Avia.Pro reported.

“Against the background of how Israel was repeatedly seen striking at Syria despite the previously reached agreements between Russia and Israel, a source told Avia.pro that the Syrian military received permission to use its air defense systems in case of the slightest threat from Israel, provided that the Syrian side bears responsibility for such actions,” Avia.Pro said.

Dutch court hears war crimes accusations against Israel’s Benny Gantz

As Israelis went to the polls on Tuesday, one of the leading candidates for prime minister was fending off war crimes accusations in a court in The Hague.

Palestinian-Dutch citizen Ismail Ziada is seeking justice for Israel’s killing of six members of his family during its 2014 assault on Gaza.

Ziada holds Benny Gantz, the Israeli army chief at the time, and Amir Eshel, then the air force chief, responsible for the decision to bomb his family’s home in al-Bureij refugee camp.

“They were five soldiers and she was some seven meters away.”

According to eyewitnesses, Wahdan was left to bleed without first aid.

Photos show the woman lying on the ground in a large pool of blood.

She was eventually transferred to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem for treatment, where she was pronounced dead.

Israelis Have Made their Verdict Clear: Benjamin Netanyahu’s Time is Up

For most Israelis, the general election on Tuesday was about one thing and one thing only. Not the economy, nor the occupation, nor even corruption scandals. It was about Benjamin Netanyahu. Should he head yet another far-right government, or should his 10-year divisive rule come to an end?

Barring a last-minute upset as the final ballot papers are counted, Israelis have made their verdict clear: Netanyahu’s time is up.

In April’s inconclusive election, which led to this re-run, Netanyahu’s Likud party tied with its main opponent in the Blue and White party, led by retired general Benny Gantz. This time Gantz appears to have nudged ahead, with 32 seats to Netanyahu’s 31 in the 120-member parliament. Both parties fared worse than they did in April, when they each secured 35 seats.

U.S. mainstream media leaves Israel out of the worsening Iran/Saudi Arabia/Yemen crisis

In theory, a dispute between Saudi Arabia and Iran over an awful civil war in Yemen should have nothing to do with Israel.

In fact, Tel Aviv is a major factor stoking a growing crisis that threatens to explode into an even wider war, and trigger a global economic slowdown.

Mainstream U.S. media accounts have bogged down in futile efforts to definitively assess responsibility for the audacious drone attacks that damaged Saudi oil facilities on September 14, sending plumes of smoke up into space. The U.S. press is less rigorous about looking into the Israeli connection to the crisis. Today’s lead article in the New York Times about the risk of “war with Iran” did not mention Israel or Benjamin Netanyahu a single time. Neither did a major report in the Washington Post.

EU condemns new Israel settlement, but no action taken

The European Union (EU) yesterday condemned the Israeli government’s decision to establish a new settlement in the Jordan Valley region of the occupied West Bank.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet voted to back a proposal that would see unauthorised outpost Mevo’ot Yeriho retroactively “legalised”, thus becoming an official statement.

Israel distinguishes between official and unapproved settlements (the latter often referred to as outposts), while under international law, all settlements are illegal.

The Jordan Valley is a key region of the occupied West Bank, and the target of long-standing Israeli settlement activity, in parallel to the displacement of local Palestinians.

Netanyahu is messing with history and geography

Netanyahu’s zealous statements regarding his intention to annex land from the Jordan Valley and the West Bank did not come as a surprise to many. It was, however, a source of sadness and sorrow as the Palestinians and Arabs are increasingly disregarded while the occupation continues to swallow up what is left of Palestine and realises its dream of doing as it pleases with Arab land. It is not strange for Netanyahu and his colonial policies to continue messing with the Palestinian and Arab geography and history as he pleases. Netanyahu seems unafraid of the future, given the statements he is making, which coincide with the elections, but in fact, these same statements actually indicate a hidden fear of the present and the future.

Kamila Shamsie stripped of German literary prize over support for BDS

A German city has reversed its decision to hand a literary prize to the novelist Kamila Shamsie because of her support for the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The British-Pakistani author was announced as the winner of the Nelly Sachs Prize, named after a Jewish poet and Nobel laureate and organised and funded by the city of Dortmund, on 10 September.

But in a statement on Wednesday, organisers said the jury had reversed its decision to honour Shamsie, and that the 2019 award would not be handed to any author, with the next winner to be announced in 2021.

"With its vote for the British writer Kamila Shamsie as the winner of the Nelly Sachs Prize 2019, the jury honoured the author's outstanding literary work.

Will Americans Let Trump Start World War III for Saudi Arabia and Israel?

On Saturday, September 14th, two oil refineries and other oil infrastructure in Saudi Arabia were hit and set ablaze by 18 drones and 7 cruise missiles, dramatically slashing Saudi Arabia’s oil production by half, from about ten million to five million barrels per day. On September 18, the Trump administration, blaming Iran, announced it was imposing more sanctions on Iran and voices close to Donald Trump are calling for military action. But this attack should lead to just the opposite response: urgent calls for an immediate end to the war in Yemen and an end to US economic warfare against Iran.

Trump's new national security adviser is the anti-Bolton in style only

Robert O’Brien might be just as hawkish as John Bolton, but he is "certainly not as pugilistic," according to people close to the president's new adviser.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just terrific; the style of negotiations with Iran, if the US ever gets there, will be different; but unfortunately, the substance remains the same.

What President Trump needs, is for another major, bloody, attack against Saudi Arabia, with both Saudi Arabian and US military down; and no matter if the Houthis say (which they have already done, BTW: SAUDI OIL ATTACKS: IRAN-BACKED HOUTHIS WARN FOREIGNERS TO AVOID OIL INSTALLATIONS, THREATEN MORE STRIKES AT ANY MOMENT

But the question that begs to be asked, and answered, is why the best and the brightest American weaponry and defensive systems could not have thwarted these alleged "primitive attacks" on Saudi oil infrastructure, with all the money spent on them?!?

If I were a Middle Eastern country, or a country anywhere in the world here US weaponry is sold, these incidents would definitely have me deeply concerned about making such a purchase of US weaponry in the future, considering the absolute, epic fail of these weapons, when Saudi Arabia's military desperately needed them to function.

NETANYAHU CANCELS UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY APPEARANCE OVER ELECTION RESULTS

There will be no speech by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the UN General Assembly that opens next week, as Tuesday’s inconclusive election results has forced him to cancel plans to fly to New York, address the world body, and meet US President Donald Trump.

Instead, Netanyahu will be in the thick of coalition negotiations. This will be the first time in nine years that he will not address the parley. Foreign Minister Israel Katz will do so instead.

According to the UN schedule, Netanyahu was listed as the 12th speaker on September 26, the third and final day of speeches by world leaders. He was scheduled to come to the podium to speak just three slots after Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Whatever else is happening, Netanyahu can be counted upon to do everything humanly possible to hang on to whatever power he may be able cling to, through creating coalitions, and presenting himself, as the only viable principal who can make things happen; the rest of the world (including a UN he disregards entirely, and for which he has contempt in the extreme)can go hang!!

Netanyahu refuses to concede as Gantz leads in Israel’s general election

Exit polls released by Israeli television channels show that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has failed to secure a ruling majority in the general election.

Three separate exit surveys released on Tuesday showed that Netanyahu's right-wing Likud is projected to garner between 31 and 32 parliament seats each out of 120, while his main challenger Benny Gantz’s centrist Blue and White alliance is leading with 32 Knesset seats.

In all three polls, the Joint List of Arab parties is projected to have the third most seats, while far-right Yamina party, led by Ayelet Shaked, is projected to win 6-7 seats.

Equally, whatever the outcome of the Israeli elections, the Palestinians will be the big losers. According to preliminary results, Netanyahu has lost his majority of course – having failing to reach the magic number of 61 seats in the Knesset.

But his opponents – the Palestinians living under siege in Gaza, under occupation in the West Bank, or under annexation in East Jerusalem, an annexation Netanyahu threatened to visit upon the whole of the Jordan Valley – are no better off.

DID YOU KNOW?: Two Secretive Israeli Companies Reportedly Bugged The US Telecommunications Grid For The NSA

The newest information regarding the NSA domestic spying scandal raises an important question: If America's tech giants didn't 'participate knowingly' in the dragnet of electronic communication, how does the NSA get all of their data?
One theory: the NSA hired two secretive Israeli companies to wiretap the U.S. telecommunications network.

In April 2012 Wired's James Bamford — author of the book " The Shadow Factory: The NSA from 9/11 to the Eavesdropping on America" — reported that two companies with extensive links to Israel's intelligence service provided hardware and software to wiretap the U.S. telecommunications network for the National Security Agency (NSA).

Democratic voters support cutting aid to Israel, so why have only two candidates even mentioned it?

A new report shows that a net majority of Democratic voters support cutting aid to Israel based on the country’s human rights violations. Nonetheless, only two Democratic presidential candidates have floated the idea during this campaign and neither has provided much in way of details.

YouGov Blue conducted a poll for the progressive think tank Data For Progress between August 15th–21st. 1,380 voters were asked a question about reducing U.S. military aid to Israel over its human rights abuses and a broader question about reducing aid to other countries for the same reason. The poll’s accompanying report was authored by Data For Progress Senior Fellow and IfNotNow co-founder Emma Saltzberg.

Palestinian developments are straining Turkey-Israel relations

Recent weeks have witnessed a series of developments in Palestine that have produced mixed reactions in Turkey and Israel. Their relationship is back to the level of tension prevalent in the wake of the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara flotilla in 2010.

The most recent development was the announcement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he will annex the occupied Jordan Valley if he wins Israel’s General Election. Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Mevlut Çavu?o?lu, criticised Netanyahu’s remarks as, “A vile attempt to win a few more votes in the coming election at the expense of destroying the hopes of achieving a lasting peace in the Middle East.” He added that Israel was encouraged by “some” countries and is on the verge of turning into a racist, apartheid regime.

Remembering the Sabra and Shatila massacre

Thirty-seven years ago this week, one of the bloodiest chapters in Palestinian history unfolded in a refugee camp in Lebanon. Surrounded by Israeli forces from all sides, thousands of refugees, bereft of leadership and protection from the international community, were slaughtered during a two day killing spree in the Shatila refugee camp and the adjacent Sabra neighbourhood of Beirut by the Christian Phalangist militia, Israel’s paramilitary ally in Lebanon.

Trump Brushes Israeli Dragnet Surveillance of D.C. Under the Rug

The culprit behind a massive spying scandal in the U.S. capital has been exposed. A slew of surveillance devices found around the District of Columbia over the years was the work of Israeli spies. But it’s unlikely that the U.S. will take any action.

Three former U.S. officials have informed Politico that the devices — International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) catchers, or “Stingrays” — that were discovered near the White House, Senate and other sensitive locations belonged to the Israeli government.

Typically used by police, Stingrays, a dragnet as opposed to a targeted surveillance device, work like miniature cell phone towers. When one is set up, it sucks in all cell phone communications within a specific radius, intercepting them before they make it to the tower to be transmitted to the intended recipient. The metadata sent — including texts and other private information — by everyone within the radius is then viewable by whoever is controlling the Stingray.

Trump Baffled as Israel Is AGAIN Caught Red-Handed Spying on US

Here we go again! Israel is caught red handed spying against the United States and everyone in Congress is silent, as are nearly all the mainstream media which failed to report the story. How NeoCon Billionaire Paul Singer Is Driving the Outsourcing of US Tech Jobs to Israel

With nearly 6 million Americans unemployed and regular bouts of layoffs in the U.S. tech industry, major American tech companies like Google, Microsoft and Intel Corporation are nonetheless moving key operations, billions in investments, and thousands of jobs to Israel — a trend that has largely escaped media attention or concern from even “America first” politicians. The fact that this massive transfer of investment and jobs has been so overlooked is particularly striking given that it is largely the work of a single leading neoconservative Republican donor who has given millions of dollars to President Donald Trump.

Only the Coalition of the Foolish Wants a War With Iran

If you want to identify the most reckless powers in our world today, look no further than Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.

byVijay PrashadThe reaction from Iran has been calm. The government in Tehran has decided not to cower beneath the storm clouds from Washington. It threatens Canada with its own sanctions if the Canadians do not release seized Iranian assets. An oil tanker that was carrying diesel to the United Arab Emirates has been seized by the Iranians on the grounds of smuggling. Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani told the Syria Summit in Ankara, Turkey, that there can be no stability in Syria as long as U.S. troops remain there. Iran refuses to blink. It has taken the position that it must stand strong and call the U.S. bluff.

This is a dangerous bluff.

But it is also a calculated one.

Israel Made the Attack on the Saudi Oil Fields

Since the recent long past sell-by date demise of John Bolton, Donald Trump’s current attack Chihuahua, Mike Pompeo, promptly insisted Iran was behind the attack.

But how does Iran benefit by starting World War III? Are they so fucking stupid that they would wave a red flag in front of the nuclear armed US, nuclear armed Israel and Saudi Arabia run by a snow flake who thinks cold blooded murder is just about right when his feelings are hurt.

Israel has been threatening Iran with destruction since at least 1982 with the publication of the Yinon Plan. The document is remarkable in its candor for the Zionist plan for the destruction of the Middle East. “Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation would prove to be advantageous to Israel at least in the short term,” Yinon suggested.

This Wasn’t How Trump’s War on Iran Was Supposed to Go

The U.S. thought it was cleverly choking the regime, but now it's clear that 'maximum pressure' goes both ways.
The Saturday attack on Saudi oil facilities, which took 5.7 million barrels of oil per day offline, is the escalation that wasn’t supposed to happen. Now that it has happened, we enter perilous new terrain.
In the meantime, Trump is in a tight spot of his own making, with neither escalation nor retrenchment looking to be attractive options. The president may have outsmarted himself this time.
The whole drama, in a nutshell, is just the old-fashioned hubris of the imperial power, issuing its edicts, and genuinely surprised when it encounters resistance, even though such resistance confirms for the wunderkinds their view of the enemy’s malevolence.

Is Trump trapped? That is the question of the hour.

Trump orders 'substantial increase' in sanctions on Iran

This lover of Israel is raising on a busted flush.

President Trump announced Wednesday that he had ordered a “substantial increase” in sanctions on Iran.

“I have just instructed the Secretary of the Treasury to substantially increase Sanctions on the country of Iran!” he wrote on Twitter.

The move comes after Saturday’s drone strikes on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, which the country said had disrupted about half of the kingdom's oil capacity, or 5% of the daily global oil supply.

US Defense Secretary Mike Esper said on Monday that the US military is preparing a response to the attack on major Saudi Arabia oil facilities, AFP reported.

Whatever comes next, the Netanyahu era as we know it is over

The most expected outcome of Tuesday elections in Israel has somehow become the biggest surprise.

The tie between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party and Benny Gantz’s Blue and White on about 33 seats each is a reflection of longtime division of Israeli society into two camps.

Yet even before Israelis know who their next PM is going to be, even before we know if the Netanyahu era is over, all political analysts agree the days of Netanyahu as we know him - “the magician”, the omnipotent leader of ”another league” - are certainly over.

And the federal government itself, quick to persecute a Russian woman who tried to join the NRA, concedes that the White House and Justice Department have done absolutely nothing to either rebuke or punish the Israeli perpetrators. One senior intelligence official commented that “I’m not aware of any accountability at all.”

Only President Donald Trump, predictably, had something so say in his usual personalized fashion, which was that the report was “hard to believe,” that “I don’t think the Israelis were spying on us. My relationship with Israel has been great…Anything is possible but I don’t believe it.”

Saudi Arabia Says It Has "Material Evidence" Tying Iran To Aramco Attack

Saudi Arabia revealed yesterday that, contrary to its initial estimates, Aramco should be able to restore oil production to 100% capacity by the end of the month. And on Wednesday morning, the kingdom's Defense Ministry said it was planning a press conference to present "material evidence" purportedly linking Tehran to the unprecedented attack on the Kingdom's oil infrastructure.

The country's defense ministry will hold a news conference later in the day laying out new evidence. This follows reports from the US claiming that the roughly 20 missiles and drones used in the attack had been traced back to a 'launch site' in southern Iran.

Tehran has denied involvement in the Sept. 14 attacks, while the Houthi rebels in nearby Yemen have claimed credit. But Washington and Riyadh have adamantly blamed Iran, whom they have blamed for several 'attacks' in the region since the start of the year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every time, no matter the administration, I see people from that administration fly off to any destination, as are Mike Pompeo, and other US officials, who remain unnamed, to add "gravitas" to a set of charges apt to bring a third nation a bouquet of lead and depleted uranium , I get very, very nervous.

So, Secretary of State Pompeo, a word, please; with all the wars in which the US Military is enmeshed, those we know about, and those we do not really know about, the people of this country do not want to see our military enmeshed in yet another war with which to placate Israel, which could well go "mammary glands vertical" yet again.

And sir, just in case you are suffering, as do many in the Bowels of Power in DC, from that horrific illness called SMD, "Selective Memory Disorder", I would like to remind you very gently, about a statement a Russian diplomat made toward the end of this June: IRAN WILL NOT BE ALONE, IF THE US ATTACKS

Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, made this statement at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow.

Secretary of State Pompeo, I would almost wager a bet that this man doesn't even fart without Vlad Putin's permission; so you can bet real money, that what he said was a direct statement from Russia's President Putin.

War with Russia over Iran?!? Sir, I would like to hope (and pray), that this is precisely NOT where this administration is taking us, but it sure as hell looks like it.

Unless President Trump suspends the Constitution and Bill of Rights and declares Martial Law, it will be an election killer, if an election will be held at all in 2020, and will smartly assist the Delirious Dementocrats to recover brilliantly from their "Withering Wednesday" moment, created today, when mega-Demo Contributor, Ed Buck, was arrested by the police.

Create war?!? Lose the 2020 election; find another way to prevent Saudi Arabia from getting hit and hurt with allegedly "primitive" weapons?!? Trump still has the chance to win.

It is, sir, just that simple.,

You are welcome, Mr. Secretary.

Questions, Not Answers Surround U.S. Push to War with Iran

Moscow has had its fill of Netanyahu. He’s openly mocking Trump at international forums, first offering to sell the U.S. Russia’s hypersonic missiles at the G-20 and then offering to sell S-400 missile defense systems to the Saudis to protect their people from outside actors.
All with tongue firmly implanted in cheek, but like with all good comedy a core of undeniable truth.
Things look bad for the alliance between the U.S., Israel and Saudi Arabia, when your opponents are laughing at you openly. In that moment Putin exposed that the emperor truly was standing naked in front of the world.

NIMMO: CUI BONO, ISRAEL, AND THE ATTACK ON SAUDI OIL

If we consult a map, we discover Israel is situated to the northwest of Saudi Arabia. Iran is in the east and Iraq to the north. Because cruise missiles and drones have the capability of changing direction, we do not have a good idea where the missiles came from and the party responsible for launching them.

For the US, this is not a problem. It is now habituated to telling lies, releasing misinformation, and disseminating propaganda associated with false flag attacks. Much of what it reports is believed without question by millions of Americans. The state describes this mass credulity and inability to question authority as “patriotism.”

How were low-tech drones able to pierce Saudi Arabian security? Defence system called into question despite country spending $65bn on arms last year including US radar and Patriot missiles - as mocking Putin says they should have bought Russian.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr.President; a word, please: can you tell both the American people, and the Saudi people, specifically why these US systems, were absolutely impotent, to thwart this attack?!?

This result of this "epic fail" by American weapons makers, is one which is going to have governments scrambling to buy from the Russians, because their s-300 and S-400 systems, actually do what the manual says they will do.

The only possible thing I can think of, as to why these systems didn't work, is that the US technicians who installed them, were ordered to install them so improperly, to insure that they wouldn't work, so that any attack against these facilities would be the springboard for military action against Iran.

Mr. President, in this hideous rush to war against Iran, I would caution utter restrain, and incredible forensic work by both the US military and civilian specialists; a fact-centric, iron-clad case is necessary, because the American people will not tolerate yet another failed military misadventure for control over more oil.

ISRAEL WILL BEGIN TRAINING ECUADOREAN MILITARY UNITS

SOURCE: TELESURENGLISH.NET

Ecuador’s minister of Defense Oswaldo Jarrin confirmed Thursday that ‘elite’ units of Ecuador’s military will begin training in Israel. Jarrin made the announcement as he hailed a new era of close Israel-Ecuador relations, a turn away from the approach of leftist former President Rafael Correa who cut military ties in 2010, in solidarity with Palestine.

The cooperation will be to ‘modernize’ Ecuador’s armed forces and to take ‘counter-terrorism’ courses, given by Israel’s military. Details also emerged about US$30 million worth of weapons that Ecuador has purchased from Israel in the last year alone.

Israeli officials have told Ecuadorean media that there is now a ‘flourishing relationship’ between the two countries.

Jarrin said this is because there is “now an environment of international cooperation that did not exist before”, in reference to the breakdown in relations that took place under the previous government of Rafael Correa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How terrific!

Now the Ecuadorian people.... will have to get used to being treated just like the IDF treats Palestinians!!

Bravo, Oswaldo, well done!!

CHINA WARNS TRUMP NOT TO BELIEVE WARHAWK “CONSPIRACY THEORIES” THAT IRAN WAS BEHIND ATTACK ON SAUDI ARABIA

SOURCE: SUMMIT.NEWS
China has warned President Trump that he is being manipulated by warhawks into believing “conspiracy theories” that Tehran was behind the attack on Saudi oil facilities and that any “revenge attack” on Iran could cause the Middle East to “spiral out of control.”

The warning was contained in an editorial posted by the Global Times, which is widely recognized as a Communist Party mouthpiece.

A drone strike against two Saudi oil facilities by Houthi rebels on Saturday took out 5% of the world’s oil supply, but U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo immediately blamed Tehran for the attack.

In the Global Times piece, Beijing asserts that there is no evidence Iran was responsible and that, “US military revenge against Iran will lead the Middle East to spiral out of control.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

SOMEONE at the Global Times in Beijing must be reading WRH!!! :-)

But light banter aside, everyone who cares about this President, and his agenda, must dissuade him from attacking Iran, and particularly right now.

A top Russian official made the statement, at the end of a conference in June, which stated the following:

Iran will not stand alone, if the US attacks. “Iran will withstand this type of fight and Iran is not alone,” Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, said at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow.

I am betting that this guy doesn't fart without Putin's permission; and if he made such a statement, you can bet your sweet bippy, that he is echoing Putin's stance here.

War with Russia over Iran?!?

I would like to politely suggest to President Trump, that he, and his advisors look very deeply into the possibility that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid; we have seen just how brilliantly Russia's military hardware and weaponry have performed in Syria.

Please, Mr. President, don't go there.

And what about you, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner?!? How are you going to come down on this issue?!? You two are among the only people President Trump trusts implicitly, to guide him on foreign and domestic policy?

Are you going to attempt to insure that Israel, and Benyamin Netanyahu get the scenario they want (particularly in light of the reality that Israel has national elections today, and Netanyahu is fighting the political fight of his life) by encouraging President Trump to start this war, and perhaps even as early as, perhaps, today?!?

The next 72 hours will tell much, about the direction which you have counseled him to take; and as a Christian Pacifist activist, I am praying that you guide him in the right direction, which means to express restraint; encourage fact-finding here; and figuring out what concrete steps he can take to keep Saudi Arabia safe, without going to war.

Iranian Drones Launched from Iraq Carried Out Attacks on Saudi Oil Plants

The strikes which paralysed the Saudi oil industry on Saturday morning, forcing it to halve its output of crude oil, were made by Iranian drones launched from Hashd al-Shaabi bases in southern Iraq, a senior Iraqi intelligence official has told Middle East Eye.

The attacks on Abqaiq and Khurais, two key Aramco facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia, were in retaliation for Israeli drone strikes on Hashd al-Shaabi bases and convoys in August, which were co-ordinated and funded by the Saudis, the official said.

“The latest attack comes for two reasons: another message from Iran to USA and its allies that as long as its siege on Iran continues no one will have stability in the region. However, the second more direct reason is a strong Iranian revenge for the recent Israeli attacks by drones launched from SDF-controlled areas in Syria against pro-Iranian Hashd bases,” he said.

US defense failure… Why Washington has to blame Iran over Saudi attacks

The devastating blitz on Saudi Arabia’s oil industry has led to a flurry of accusations from US officials blaming Iran. The reason for the finger-pointing is simple: Washington’s spectacular failure to protect its Saudi ally.
The Trump administration needs to scapegoat Iran for the latest military assault on Saudi Arabia because to acknowledge that the Houthi rebels mounted such an audacious assault on the oil kingdom’s heartland would be an admission of American inadequacy.

Formidable Yemeni Houthis Fighters

Things aren’t going well for the US, NATO, Israel, Riyadh, and their jihadist proxies in Yemen.

They’re losing endless war to Ansarullah Houthi rebels, their capabilities much more sophisticated than earlier believed.

Their explosive-laden drones and missiles are able to penetrate Saudi defenses effectively, damaging strategic targets, including kingdom oil fields, its soft underbelly super-wealth producing lifeline.

On Saturday, explosive-laden Houthi drones attacked two Saudi Aramco oil facilities, setting targets struck ablaze — the kingdom’s Abqaiq refinery (the world’s largest) and Khurais oil field.

Both attacks caused huge fires visible from outer space. The facilities are crucial world energy supply chain links.

3 US Targets in Region Attacked If IRGC Downing of Spy Drone Responded – IRGC Commander By wmw_admin on September 16, 2019

As tensions mount over alleged Iranian involvement in the attack on the Saudi oil facility, the statements from the IRGC commander below are meant as a warning to America. In other words General Amir Ali Hajizadeh is saying to Trump, mess with us and you will pay a heavy price.

US Bases surrounding Iran. All within easy reach of Iran’s surface-to-surface missiles. Click to enlarge

Will Trump heed these warnings? Or will he comply with the demands of the Saudis, the Zionists and U.S. hawks and sacrifice more U.S. lives needlessly?
We write that because things are not unfolding quite as Anglo-American-Zionist elite had planned. So instead of an apocalyptic conflict, which would enable them impose martial law across the West and expand their global dominion, a military clash with Iran might entail a series of limited, lesser engagements.

Donald Trump's Neocon Conversion was Predictable

During the election, I wrote a little ebook titled “Donald Trump’s War on Islam.” In addition to pointing out Trump’s pandering to Islamophobia, I wrote about his association with a number of neocons, including Frank Gaffney and John Bolton, who is now his national security adviser. “I think John Bolton’s a good man,” Trump told the Hugh Hewitt Show.

“I watched him yesterday, actually, and he was very good in defending me in some of my views, and very, very strong. And I’ve always liked John Bolton. Well, we are thinking about it, Hugh [nominating Bolton as secretary of state]. I will say that. We are thinking about it. I mean, the negative is what I told you. But we are seriously thinking about it.”

I went to bed at 9:30 last night and woke up to this bullshit. I was disappointed in Trump adding all those Goldman Sachs scumbags as his advisors. I was disappointed he supported Obamacare lite rather than repealing and replacing it. His tax plans look to be dead on arrival. Now, the guy who ran as a non-interventionist, like his two predecessors, has been co-opted by the neo-cons and the military industrial complex. Saudi oil attacks: US says intelligence shows Iran involved

The United States has issued satellite images and cited intelligence to back its allegation Iran was behind attacks on major Saudi oil facilities.

Iran denies involvement in Saturday's air attacks, which were claimed by Iran-aligned Houthi rebels in Yemen.

But unnamed US officials speaking to US and international media say the direction and extent of the attacks cast doubt on Houthi involvement.

The incident has cut global oil supplies by 5% and prices have soared.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Where, please, is the hard evidence Americans can actually trust, rather the bits and pieces of cherry picked "intelligence and accusations" against Iran, which are the only things the US government has been able to produce?!?

And please remember; this is precisely the same Federal Government which told you that Iraq's Saddam Hussein "had weapons of mass destruction", and that Syria's Bashar al Assad "was using chemical weapons against his own people".

They lied to pursue various geopolitical/financial objectives; with Iran one of the premier oil producers in the Middle East, how can we trust that they are not lying again?!?

The short answer is, absolutely not.

A DECLARATION OF WAR ON THE TWO-STATE SOLUTION

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared war on the two-state solution. His plan, which he promised to implement if he is reelected, would annex between 30-40% of the West Bank, including all of the Jewish settlements, in the blocks and isolated around Palestinians communities, and the entire Jordan Valley. There is not a single Palestinian alive who would agree to a mini-fragmented Palestinian state under those conditions. Netanyahu declared that he will negotiate with President Trump to gain his agreement for these territorial conquests. He never mentioned, even in passing the need to negotiate with the Palestinians.

In April of 2018, the Associated Press reported that the Department of Homeland Security acknowledged that it had detected unauthorized cellular phone surveillance devices operating in Washington, DC.

Commonly known as “StingRays,” the devices are designed to mimic cell phone towers. Essentially, when a StingRay is activated, it forces nearby cellular traffic to go through it rather than through official towers. This allows the operator of the StingRay to know the exact location of a specific cellphone. With more advanced models, the device can force a phone to use older, unencrypted 2G wireless signals allowing a third party to eavesdrop on calls and messages. Some can even attempt to install malicious software on a phone. StingRays are typically the size of a briefcase but can be as small as a cellphone.

Turkey says Israel becoming ‘racist, apartheid regime’ with annexation plan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement of his intention to annex areas of the West Bank following next week’s elections shows Israel is becoming a “racist, apartheid regime”, Turkey’s foreign minister was quoted as saying on Sunday, Reuters reports.

Netanyahu said on Tuesday he would annex the Jordan Valley, a swathe of the occupied West Bank that Israel captured in 1967 and which Palestinians want as part of a future state. The move alarmed Middle Eastern nations, European powers and Arab foreign ministers.

On Saturday, Turkey’s foreign ministry said the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) would convene in Jeddah on Sunday to discuss Netanyahu’s statement.

Apartheid Made Official: Deal of the Century is a Ploy and Annexation is the New Reality

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is moving quickly to alter the political reality in Palestine, and facing little or no resistance.

On September 10, Netanyahu declared his intentions to annex swathes of Palestinian land adjacent to the Jordan River, an area that covers 2,400 square kilometres, or nearly a third of the Occupied West Bank. That region, which extends from Bisan in the north to Jericho in the south, is considered to be Palestine’s food basket, as it accounts for an estimated 60 percent of vegetables that are produced in the West Bank.

While Israel has already colonized nearly 88 per cent of the entire Palestinian Ghoor (or Jordan Valley), dividing it between illegal agricultural settlements and military zones, it was always assumed that the militarily occupied region will be included within the border of a future Palestinian state.

U.S. OFFICIALS BUILDING A CASE AGAINST IRAN AFTER MASSIVE ATTACK ON SAUDI

Jerusalem Post Middle East

Attack on Saudi was large and sophisticated, satellite images show, and involved numerous drones.

Satellite images released by US officials on Sunday showed the extent of damage on Saudi Arabia’s Abqaiq oil processing facility and at Khurais oil field. The images show 17 impact points on key petroleum infrastructure, including four hits on liquefied natural gas storage tanks.

The images reveal extreme precision by the drones or cruise missiles which struck the oil facilities. ABC News reported on Monday that officials have ascertained that a dozen cruise missiles and 20 drones were fired in the attack. This degree of sophistication is beyond the ability of Yemen’s Houthi rebels, notwithstanding their claim of responsibility.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I find it interesting - and more than slightly ironic - that it is the US government "building a case" against Iran, and not the Saudi government.

One has to wonder if both the Saudi Government in Riyadh, and Crown Prince Bin Salman, have been given a deadline before which they must respond to Trump's ultimatum regarding identifying Tehran as the culprit here.

And as the Second Cynic in Chief of this website (my Sweetheart being the First Cynic in Chief),I have to wonder if such a deadline... might well be coordinated to dovetail, with the moment Israeli polls are open, and in which Prime Minister Netanyahu is fighting for his political life.

Trump supporters should let Trump hear from them as he is about to commit the United States to a war of Israel’s choosing. A mutual defense treaty between the US and Israel would give Israel the ability to commit the US to a war in Israel’s behalf.

The attack on the Saudi oil fields that Trump and Israel are blaming on Iran is almost certainly an attack by Israel. The attack is being used to start a war with Iran.

Yemen's military warns foreigners to leave Saudi oil plants

Yemen's military has warned foreigners in Saudi Arabia to leave Aramco's oil processing plants, saying they are still a target and can be attacked "at any moment."

The warning came after Houthis and their allies in the Yemeni army deployed as many as 10 drones to bomb Abqaiq and Khurais oil facilities run by the Saudi state-owned oil company before dawn Saturday.

Spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, General Yahya Sare'a, said in a tweet Monday that the attacks in the kingdom's eastern region had been carried out by drones with normal and jet engines.

He said Saudi Arabia should stop its "aggression and blockade on Yemen," or see the Yemeni army hit the kingdom "anywhere and anytime" it chooses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even though the Butcher of Yemen I(Prince Bin Salman) has made the statement publicly, that the Saudis can handle these attacks on their own MBS tells Trump Saudi 'willing and able' to respond to attacks, this statement by Houthi rebels, telling foreign workers to get out of Saudi Arabia ASAP, most probably means that another attack is imminent.

Should such a scenario happen, the Israeli government will be high fiving themselves, big-time; because now, there is a proxy army to take down Iran, and not a single drop of blood of Israeli blood will be shed.

Should it happen, I would strongly suggest, that the US will be joining forces with Saudi Arabia, and start bombing Iran, with a potential decap strike against Tehran.

I would, however, suggest to the Adult in the Room in the Bowels of Power, in Saudi Arabia; Israel; or the US, that such a move would trigger Russia to enter the fray on Iran's side, and that... would completely change the math of any potential outcome.

Drone Attack on Saudi Oil Field Seen as ‘Pearl Harbor’ Moment

For many of the national security teams that monitor threats on the U.S., the apparent drone strike Saturday on the heart of Saudi Arabia’s oil production facilities was the realization of their worst fears.

Based on early reports, multiple relatively inexpensive drone devices were able to pierce Saudi defenses in a way that a traditional air force could not: flying long distances to drop potent bombs that apparently set vast portions of the Saudi petroleum infrastructure ablaze.

The attack, for which Houthi rebels battling Saudi Arabia in Yemen took credit, underscored the fears raised by U.S. security officials and experts in terrorism about the rapid evolution of technologies allowing expanded unmanned flight.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the author of this article, I would strongly and politely like to suggest that these actions, if in fact taken by the Houthis, are not Saudi Arabia "Pearl Harbor Moment."

It is, rather, retaliation for the US aided and abetted Saudi war against Yemen, which has assassinated thousands of Yemeni children, women, and the medically fragile elderly; I am not justifying the violence here; I am simply pointing out how this may well have been the real motivation for the attack, if, as has been stated, Houthi rebels actually pulled this off.

And if the US and Saudi intelligence infrastructure were so myopic, that the heads of these agencies, never thought that the Houthis would ever retaliate in this way, they need to be handed their collective hats.

Iran To Release UK-Flagged Tanker As Rick Perry "Wholeheartedly Condemns" Attack On Saudi Arabia

Washington has blamed Iran for this weekend's attack on Saudi Arabia's oil production facilities, which are expected to cut Saudi oil output in half until repairs can be completed. The attack was purportedly carried out by Yemen's Houthi rebels, who have a long history of launching attacks on Saudi soil. But President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have placed blame for the attacks squarely on the Iranians. As we noted over the weekend, the timing of the attack is suspicious, coming as the kingdom renews its push to float 5% of Aramco in what's expected to be the largest-ever IPO. The offering would benefit from higher oil prices. Many have questioned why Saudi Arabia's missile defense capabilities failed to stop the attack.

Iran has denied any responsibility for the attack.

This weekend's attack wiped out 5% of the world's oil supplies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I simply have to ask; would Iranian leadership do something so incredibly stupid that it could cause an outcry which could actually lead to a shooting war here?!?

The short answer is, they would not; these attacks are being "stage managed", very carefully, to give the "illusion" that the attacks were actual provocations by the Iranian against Saudi Arabia, and that there is no other explanation.

Folks, I hate to break it to you; but this week is shaping up as a lousy one for peace, and honorable, reasonable negotiations, and reduced tensions in both the Middle East and the world.

Iran War Imminent? Trump Says US "Locked And Loaded" To Respond To Saudi Attack

Just as the price of oil was settling down from its record surge, it spiked once again, following a tweet by president Trump which has made war with Iran virtually inevitable.

Just before 7pm, Trump tweeted that "Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!"

Setting aside the implicit admission that US foreign policy in the middle-east is now inexplicably run by Saudi Arabia, what is far more troubling is Trump's statement that the US military is "locked and loaded", and set to attack the country which instigated the attack on Saudi facilities, which according to Mike Pompeo was not Yemen, and its Houthi rebels, but rather Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What concerns me the most greatly, is the rapidity with which this scenario is being shoved down the world's collective gullet, even though Houthi spokespeople have claimed claim responsibility for these strikes.

Various elements in the bowels of power, both in Tel Aviv, and the US, wants to see this happen, and quickly, perhaps as a misdirection for Israeli voters when they go to the polls on the 17th.

It is absolutely not the Iranians who benefit from these charges; it is absolutely not the Saudi monarchy, or people, who benefit from these acts.

But the one country whose leadership does benefit, and that... is Israel's current leadership.

With its national elections coming up tomorrow, and Benjamin Netanyahu struggling to insure that the Israeli public will vote him in again, and that is Benjamin Netanyahu, showing how "butch" he is, by demanding that the US go to war with Iran, and immediately.

Would the IDF and Mossad conjure a "false flag" attack against Saudi Arabia's largest petroleum refining plants, ahead of their election, to make Netanyahu "look more appealing" to his voters, because he got the US to rain literal fire and brimstone on Iran?!?

Unfortunately, the short answer is, HELL, yes.

I highly suspect that the Butcher of Yemen is feeling at least some heat, as Trump challenges him to make a statement that Saudi Arabia were attacked by Iran, and quickly, even though he may, through his intelligence resources, well know better.

Attack on Saudi oil field a game-changer in Gulf confrontation Analysis by Tim Lister, CNN Updated 9:29 AM ET, Sun September 15, 2019 Reporter: 'Startlingly dangerous moment' in Middle East condor diverted flight map Spilled coffee diverted transatlanti

It is a game changer all right. A couple more strikes like this and it will be the end of the House of Saud!

(CNN)The attack on the world's largest oil processing plant early Saturday morning is a dramatic escalation in the confrontation between Iran and Saudi Arabia -- even if the Iranians didn't fire the drones or missiles responsible.

Several projectiles struck the Abiqaiq plant, starting a series of fires that quickly took out nearly half Saudi's oil production -- 5% of the global daily output -- and sparking fears about the security of the world's oil supplies.
It's unclear when Abiqaiq, which is operated by Saudi giant Aramco, will be fully operational again.

US, Israel negotiating mutual defense treaty: Trump

This is very dangerous. This is how WW1 and WW2 got started.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed on Twitter that he has spoken to his Israeli counterpart Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the prospects of signing a mutual defence treaty.

Saying such a pact would “further anchor the tremendous alliance between our two countries,” Trump said he looked “forward to continuing those discussions after the Israeli Elections,” during a meeting at the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Ready For War': IRGC General Says US Bases, Carriers Close to Iran Are Within Range of Its Missiles

The statement comes as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday blamed Iran for recent drone attacks on Saudi Aramco's oil fields, urging the international community "to publicly and unequivocally condemn Iran’s attacks".

Tehran has always been prepared for a full-fledged war, Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps Aerospace Force Chief Amirali Hajizadeh said in a statement on Sunday, just a day after two drone attacks on oilfields in Saudi Arabia, which were claimed by Houthis and blamed by the US and Saudi Arabia on Tehran.

“Everybody should know that all American bases and their aircraft carriers, at a distance of up to 2,000 kilometres around Iran, are within the range of our missiles,” Hajizadeh said.

According to Hajizadeh, the Iranian military are ready to target two US bases and one carrier in the event of an armed conflict.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh); Admiral Hajizadeh, we understand this.

But what I don't get is, if in fact these are the preparations being made ready for a fight against the US military, why are you broadcasting them to the entire world?!? It would seem to me that, rather than being a declaration for your coming actions, this information is deliberate disinformation, to prevent the US (and possibly Israel) from knowing what your true intentions are here.

I have to tell you, Admiral Hajizadeh, there are many in this country who detest the US's proclivity toward war, rather than making the choice for hard-one negotiations to bring peace; of course, we are no more in control of the institutions of power in our government... than are the Iranian people with theirs.

Israeli Attacks On Syria Halted After Russia Threatened To Shoot Down Jets

According to reports in both Israeli and Arabic regional media, Israel this past week was preparing to expand major airstrikes against "Iran-backed" targets in Syria, but Moscow imposed its red line. The Independent has published a story describing that Russia's military in Syria threatened to shoot down any invading Israeli warplanes using fighter jets or their S-400 system.

The Jerusalem Post, citing sources in the UK Independent (Arabia), writes just after the latest meeting in Sochi between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Only time will tell here; but now we know that there is someone who has "the titanium attributes" and that would be the Russian President Vlad (the Impaler) Putin, to confront Israel, and let it know it cannot assassinate people wherever, and whenever, they want to.

I hope and pray Putin stays strong on this issue.
