Israeli leader’s plea to US Jews to hang in there never mentions Palestinians

Israeli Jews and American Jews are getting a divorce– everyone now acknowledges that. “Let’s talk,” was the theme of the recent Jewish Federations conference in Tel Aviv, and I just listened to the welcoming speech by Danna Azrieli, the ceo of a leading Israeli real estate company who moved from Canada to Israel 18 years ago.

Azrieli’s speech is remarkable because her understanding of Israeli life and culture is so entirely Jewish that she never mentions Palestinians. “I grew up in a Jewish community bubble,” she says; and though she acknowledges deep divisions between North American and Israeli Jews over values, she focuses on religious differences. Her enthusiasm about Israeli diversity and culture is an enthusiasm about Jewish diversity and Jewish culture– “our country,” where Jews celebrate the Jewish new year on top of one of her buildings, and traffic stops on Jewish holidays.

Israeli forces raid Jerusalem governor’s office

Israeli forces on Sunday raided the Jerusalem governor’s office in the occupied West Bank, according to local residents.

“An Israeli force stormed the governor’s office in the town of al-Ram, northeast of Jerusalem, and searched it,” a local resident told Anadolu Agency.

He said Israeli soldiers assaulted a number of employees inside the office.

According to Palestinian medical sources, three people suffered temporary asphyxiation from teargas canisters fired by Israeli forces and were treated on the spot.

The Israeli raid was quickly condemned by the Ramallah-based Palestinian government.

In a statement, government spokesman Yousef al-Mahmoud described the raid as a “dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of all agreements and international law”.

The spokesman went on to hold the Israeli government responsible for “the repercussions of these assaults”.

‘NY Times’ explains why the U.S. is ‘standing by’ the Saudi crown prince — but somehow leaves out the Israel connection

Here’s an astonishing failure by two otherwise excellent New York Times reporters: they wrote a long, valuable analysis about why the U.S. is “standing by” the murderous crown prince of Saudi Arabia — but they only mentioned Israel’s support for him twice.

In a front-page story in today’s paper, David D. Kirkpatrick and Ben Hubbard explain why the kingdom’s de facto leader, 33-year-old Mohammed bin Salman, is in no immediate danger of losing power despite (almost certainly) ordering the murder a month ago of the dissident journalist, Jamal Khashoggi. They report that the U.S. government is continuing to support the crown prince, and that “Major figures in [American] finance signaled that they, too, intended to look past the killing.”

Israel settlers dump sewage on Palestinian school in Qalqiliya

Israeli settlers dumped their sewage on a Palestinian school in the northern occupied West Bank district of Qalqilia yesterday.

The Azzun Beit Amin School playground was flooded with sewage for the second time in two months as a result of the settlers’ actions.

Principal Alaa Marabeh said it would take more than ten days for the sewage water to dry and this has caused a foul smell to spread across the school building and risks damaging the students’ health.

The settlers live in the nearby illegal settlement of Sha’arei Tikva which is home to some 4,000 Jewish settlers.

Cory Booker uses anti-Semitic massacre as an excuse to dismiss Palestinians rights

New Jersey Senator Cory Booker says that the Pittsburgh massacre has led him to support the Israel Anti-Boycott Act. He becomes the first politician to use the killings of 11 Jews to take a racist position against Palestinian rights. His move should be described exactly that way, as a cynical use of real antisemitism as an excuse to dismiss Palestinian rights so as to further his political career.

Booker, who is thought to have presidential ambitions, had opposed the Israel Anti-Boycott Act, but last week told Jewish Insider:

“We’ve seen the alarming rise in anti-Semitism in the United States and across the world in recent years manifest itself in many deeply concerning ways, including in the actions of foreign governments targeting Israel and the Israeli people.”

US, Israel ‘concerned’ Bin Salman may be unable to advance normalisation

US and Israeli officials “have expressed concern” that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman “may have less leeway to pursue the gradual warming of relations between Israel and its Arab neighbours”, following the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, reported the Washington Post.

According to the paper, US President Donald Trump’s chief Mideast envoy, son-in-law Jared Kushner, “has discussed with diplomats and others how the crown prince’s position might affect US plans”.

The Post observed how “Israeli officials have become more vocal about separating the killing from the kingdom’s strategic value.”

“What happened in the Istanbul consulate was horrendous and it should be duly dealt with,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday.

Israel officials filmed confiscating elderly Palestinian vendors’ goods in Jerusalem

Israeli officials were captured on film confiscating goods from Palestinian vendors in Jerusalem’s Old City, reported Haaretz.

The Jerusalem city inspectors “were videotaped seizing merchandise from elderly Palestinian women, then chasing them away from the Damascus Gate plaza”, the paper reported.

According to Haaretz, “the women arrive at the site every Friday from the West Bank and East Jerusalem” to “sell fresh vegetables, olives and grape leaves, either from their own gardens or that they pick elsewhere”.

Some of the Israeli officials “were documented approaching the women seated outside Damascus Gate and trying to confiscate their goods. In the video the women hasten to put away their goods to try to prevent them from being seized”.

“While the vendors were being chased off, some of their goods fell to the ground, and several women could be seen picking up some olives. In at least one instance an inspector seized one of the women’s wares,” Haaretz added.

Christian leaders urge Israel to repeal ‘Jewish nation-state’ law

Senior Christian clerics in Jerusalem yesterday called for Israel to repeal its Jewish nation-state law, reported AFP.

“We must draw the attention of the authorities to a simple fact”, bishops and archbishops of the Roman Catholic, Syrian Catholic, Armenian Catholic and Greek Melkite churches said in a joint statement.

“Our faithful, the Christians, our fellow citizens, Muslim, Druze and Baha’i, all of us who are Arabs, are no less citizens of this country than our Jewish brothers and sisters.”

Christians, Muslims, Druze, Baha’i and Jews demand to be treated as equal citizens

said the letter which was also signed by the Maronite archbishop of Cyprus and the Greek Melkite archbishop of Petra, in Jordan.

US Warplanes Bomb Eastern Syria Again, Kill Several Children, Women

Over 15 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in the US-led coalition fighter jets' airstrike in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, local sources reported on Sunday.

The sources said that the warplanes targeted residential units near Khalid Bin Walid in the small town of Hajin in Southeastern Deir Ezzur on Saturday, killing at least 15 civilians, mostly women and children, and injuring tens of others.

The sources said some of the injured are in critical conditions.

The Arabic-language website of SANA news agency quoted several local sources in Deir Ezzur as saying last week that the US warplanes targeted several districts in the town of Hajin in Eastern Deir Ezzur with white phosphorous bombs which are forbidden internationally.

This was the second time in a month that the US-led coalition's fighter jets attacked Deir Ezzur with banned weapons under the pretext of fighting the ISIL.

US Military Reportedly Concerned It Won't Be Able to 'Repel Iran's Missiles'

Unnamed military sources, quoted by The Washington Post, have expressed alarm over Iran’s unpredictable reaction to US economic and diplomatic pressure.

The Washington Post has cited several military officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as expressing concern that reducing the US military presence in the Middle East has dealt a blow to their ability to react to potential Iranian threats amid what they called an increased potential for confrontation due to the sanctions.

The military reportedly believes that it’s the current administration’s policy to deter Iran, including Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the landmark nuclear deal and efforts to eliminate what National Security Adviser John Bolton branded as “the Iranian menace” in Syria and in the region as a whole that has increased the likelihood of military confrontation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The whole point of the US military and economic posture against Iran, is to insure that it does create a "justification" for war against it.

Israel Breaks Silence: Khashoggi Murder "Horrendous" But Iran The Bigger Problem - Netanyahu

One interesting outcome to the Saudis brazenly murdering journalist Jamal Khashoggi is that world leaders and the determined allies of Saudi Arabia have dropped all pretense of finesse when discussing the matter, such as when President Trump told Fox News last month that while Khashoggi's death was tragic and should be investigated, the prospect of blocking arms sales to the kingdom is "very tough pill to swallow for our country" because American jobs are on the line.

Another world leader who's been blunt on ensuring his relationship with the Saudis weather the storm of media and international outrage is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who argued in public statements this week that while the killing of the Saudi journalist at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul was “horrendous,” stability in Saudi Arabia is vital to global security.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump staunchly believes that "war is good for business" here in the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika; so he is absolutely fine with Prince Bin Salman having given the order to assassinate Khashoggi, just as is Netanyahu.

But President Trump, what is the moral cost for this country, upon having sold Saudi Arabia, God knows, how many bullets and bombs with which to assassinate innocent Yemeni people?!?

I think your "advisors" are very happy to misdirect your attention very far away from the truth of what the Saudis have been doing with these bombs and bullets; but you can be sure, as a Christian pacifist activist, that I will not. This is what the Saudi war in Yemen is looking like, through the eyes of Yemenite civilians:

Images of Yemeni children, killed and maimed for life, courtesy of US-enabled bombing runs

Yemeni children have been dying, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi port blockades, so no food can get it. Famine has become weaponized by the Saudis, as an act of war against them. A haunted look in the eyes of Amal Hussain, an emaciated 7-year-old lying silently on a hospital bed in northern Yemen, seemed to sum up the dire circumstances of her war-torn country.

And because of US/Saudi Arabia destruction of clean water resources in Yemen, cholera has claimed thousands of lives here.
Cholera/Malnutrition in Yemen

Mr. President, the hard truth here, is that we are enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen, and there is just no flipping other way to say this.

I know Sec Def Mattis has been asking for a peace conference in 30 days, but this is only because the world now sees this country as the collective, dystopian killing machine that it has become, trampling foreign countries underfoot to make sure that their resources are only sold in the US dollar.

Mr. President, you have one hell of a lot of soul searching about the US position regarding Yemen, and various other foreign entanglements which have gone "mammary glands up" in the US government's rush to control the world's resources.

White House Says US "Remains Open" To New Iran Deal As Sanctions Loom

After horrifying the executives at HBO by tweeting a meme about the impending reinstatement of sanctions against Iran on Friday (the image was a play on HBO's "Winter is Coming" advertising campaign for its hit series "Game of Thrones"), President Trump clarified that the White House remained open to working out a "more comprehensive" agreement with Iran that would ideally help curb the regime's "malign activities" in the Middle East and "forever block" Iran from building nuclear weapons.

This isn't the first time that Trump has said he is open to a "new deal" with Iran. But the mildly less threatening rhetoric was, we imagine, designed to encourage the pullback in oil prices seen in recent weeks. Earlier in the day, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US would grant sanctions waivers to eight countries (but not the European Union as a whole). The US has also decided not to encourage SWIFT to disconnect Iranian banks from the global financial system.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I agree with the author of this blog about Trump's seemingly softening stance was for public consumption regarding rising oil prices.

But you have to understand; there is a deep reverence in President Trump's attitude toward two of the most bloodthirsty tyrants in the Middle East, and the best contenders for that title are the Butcher of Gaza (Israel's Netanyahu) and the Butcher of Yemen, (Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince bin Salman).

I am quite certain that Trump has given his word to his largest US backer, Sheldon Adelson, and to Netanyahu, that if Iran doesn't pull back from these
alleged "malign activities" (whatever the heck these are supposed to be), that there will be a time and a place for a US-led/Israeli backed, military challenge against it, including a proxy of Saudi Arabian fighters, and regime change in Tehran.

But I would very much like to add a cautionary note to President Trump and his advisors on this; through his sanctions against it, President Trump has drawn Iran, Russia, and China closer together than they have ever been, economically and militarily in the history of those countries.

IF US/ISIS attached fighters pick a fight with either Russia or Iran in Syria, there will be hell to pay, and that may be the way the US believes it can "legitimately" start the war with Iran; through its facilities in Syria, assisting the Syrians and Russians in getting the rebels out.

Right now, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a war against China, Iran, or Russia, in Syria.

The US, through its Presidential Advisor, John Bolton, has stated flatly that
the US military will not leave Syria, as long as there are Iranian advisors there. Russia is still very much involved in Syria, and working with Turkey and other countries toward its reconstruction.

I am deeply concerned that the long fuse of American intervention in Syria, as a "doorway" to a war against Iran is about to get lit, either after the midterms, or the first of next year.

Israel says financier George Soros is a threat

Israel’s foreign ministry has issued a statement denouncing US billionaire George Soros, a move that appeared designed to align Israel more closely with Hungary ahead of a visit to Budapest next week by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Russia Isolated? US And Britain Excluded From Syria Summit

There were several takeaways from the recent Quadrilateral Summit in Istanbul on finding a peaceful settlement to the war in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin convened with his counterparts from Turkey, Germany and France for a two-day summit last weekend in a convivial and constructive atmosphere.

The four powers signed a communique emphasizing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. It was Putin who underscored the inviolability of the Syrian government of President Assad as the internationally recognized authority in the Arab country. The communique also endorsed the right of the Syrian nation to self-determination over the future political settlement, free from external interference.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because it was not invited to the conference, is no guarantee that the US government will do the right thing, which would be it's pulling its military from the country; Israel still wants, desperately, for the US to destabilize Syria to the point where it will become a failed state.

And as of 24 September, 2018, John Bolton made the following statement:

John Bolton says the US will stay in Syria until Iran and its Proxies are Gone

For Bolton to have made this statement, it is painfully clear that the US government is perfectly fine with catching hostile fire from Syrian, Iranian, and/or Russian forces in Syria.

This creates a potential for war by the US and Israel against Russia, Syria, and Iran.

‘Pray for the crown prince’: Michele Bachmann and other end-times evangelicals turn up in Saudi Arabia

A group of U.S. evangelicals, including former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), held a rare meeting Thursday with Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman at his palace.

The delegation to Riyadh was led by Bachmann and communications strategist Joel Rosenberg, who are each known for pushing an apocalyptic worldview relating to events in the Middle East, and the heads of other Israel-tied evangelical organizations, reported Al Jazeera.

“We’re under no illusions about the challenges that are in Saudi Arabia and that remain,” Rosenberg said. “But I think it’s respectful to go and listen to leaders who have the opportunity to make life better for Christians and Muslims and potentially for Israel as well and who are against the crazies in Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“I’d ask people to pray,” he added. “Pray for the (Jordanian) king, pray for the crown prince, pray for the people of Saudi Arabia — and I think it’s the right thing to do.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

My dear Ms. Bachmann and Mr. Rosenberg; in this most-likely Trump-mandated PR stunt has all the optics...as that of putting lipstick on a pig.

The US government is complicit with Saudi Arabia's war crimes in Yemen, in slaughtering infants, children, and the medically fragile elderly with their air strikes. The US is assisting Saudi Arabia in blockading Yemeni ports, so no food can get in, and the deaths from malnutrition, present and future, will cost Yemen tens of thousands more of their children. Additionally, the US has assisted Saudi Arabia in the destruction of Yemeni water infrastructure, and cholera (possibly weaponised, as the US government did during World War II) runs rampant in Yemen now.

And Mr. Rosenberg, when you made that statement that "I think it’s respectful to go and listen to leaders who have the opportunity to make life better for Christians and Muslims and potentially for Israel as well...", did you not realize that conversion to Christianity in Saudi Arabia can get you executed for apostasy?!?

It scares me, Mr. Rosenberg, that you have the ear of President Trump, and yet you would make a statement like this in public.

Christianity in Saudi Arabia

And please don't even think about having the hubris to lecture the world about the "Crazies" in Iran or the Muslim Brotherhood.

Iran appears to be doing everything it can to prevent war, while Prince Bin Salman does everything to continue this horrific, 3 year-on war in Yemen, which can only be resolved at in a geopolitical, not military, manner.

Netanyahu: Saudi Arabia deserves a pass for Khashoggi murder

Saudi Arabia should get a pass for murdering US-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi because the kingdom is an ally of the Jewish state against Iran.

“What happened at the Istanbul consulate was horrendous and it should be duly dealt with. But at the same time, it is very important for the stability of the region and the world that Saudi Arabia remain stable,” Netanyahu said in Bulgaria, the Times of Israel reported.

Khashoggi reportedly was strangled and then dismembered on Oct. 2 by a Saudi assassination squad under orders from Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman because the journalist was critical of the Saudi regime.

Netanyahu declared that his killers should somehow be punished, but that his overriding concern was the kingdom’s role in thwarting Iran’s Mideast ambitions, which include the destruction of Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, it's just a common courtesy for one geopolitical butcher (of Gaza, Netanyahu) to another geopolitical Butcher ( of Yemen, bin Salman), to "sell" the concept publicly, that he should be given a pass on both the assassination of Khashoggi, and the assassination of tens of thousands of Yemenis, because it is "good for regional stability."

US Govt Reimposes All Nuclear Sanctions Against Iran

The end of business on Friday marked the end of the six month period between the US withdrawing from the P5+1 nuclear deal and the withdrawal being finalized. As of Monday, the US will be reimposing all sanctions against Iran that they’d previously been required by treaty to ease.

The US intention is to put all international sanctions back exactly as they were before the nuclear deal was signed. Since Iran is still party to the deal, as is most of the rest of the world, many nations do not intend to comply with US demands.

Still, Iran’s economy has been struggling already, with the anticipation of sanctions gravely damaging the currency. This has many ordinary Iranians fearing that their economic struggles are about to get worse, while Iran’s government, as throughout the sanctions, is in a better position to weather the storm.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I have observed many times in my posts at WRH, just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could do, is absolutely no guarantee that the US government won't do it.

Removal of the US from the P5+1 agreement is one of those stupid things, of course demanded by Sheldon Adelson, Trump's major US contributor, and his boss, Israel's Bibi Netanyahu; so Team Trump believes that they have delivered on that, along with designating Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, rather than Tel Aviv.

Everyone inspecting from the IAEA has said, right up to recent times, that Iran is still absolutely in compliance. And when someone as bright as one would have to be to earn a "seat at the table" in the IAEA, tells me Iran is complying, I would very much believe that person's credibility.

But what this completely idiotic move is going to accomplish, is to push Iran, Russia, and China even closer together economically than they already are, so I have to wonder; is a pathological incapability to see any scenario through to is logical conclusion now a mandate for US government work?!? Because folks, that is what it is looking like from here!!

And we have the following headlines, also from antiwar.com:

US Grants Iran Sanction Waivers to Some Countries, but Denies Others

And Germany, UK, France want to protect firms from Sanctions against Iran

So what does Team Trump think will be the ultimate outcome of this insanity?!? Will they go to war with all parts of the world ignoring the US's sanctions?!? I sincerely don't think so, but with this administration, one never can really be certain.

Why Bibi LOVES the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre

***
Netanyahu is a gangster. “Israel” is a global shakedown racket. The so-called state of Israel is in fact a huge river of dirty money flowing into Occupied Palestine. That money is literally “scared up” all over the world by Jews who are terrorized into believing that the Zio gangster state is all that is standing between them and a new set of gas chambers.

Israel’s perennial problem: Jews are doing fine all over the world. They have no reason to go to Israel. They have no reason to send money to Israel. They have no reason to make themselves unpopular in their homelands by bleeding those homelands dry on behalf of Israel.

In fact, American Jews don’t even have any good reason to support US wars for Israel. Polls show that American Jews, more than any other US ethnic group, oppose the 9/11-triggered terror wars on Israel’s enemies.

That’s right: If it were up to American Jews, we’d be 7 trillion dollars richer, and 32 million Muslims would be still alive.

So Netanyahu’s gangster state has one overwhelmingly difficult “national security” imperative: Terrorize the world’s Jews>>>

Israeli settlers from the illegal Sha’are Tikva settlement, on Thursday, dumped their sewage onto school property in the northern West Bank village of Azzun Atma, southeast of Qalqilia, said Alaa Marabeh, principal of Azzun Beit Amin Secondary School.

He said, according to WAFA, that the sewage flooded the school courtyard and playground, resulting in a repulsive smell inside the school, stressing that this is the second time in two months settlers dump their sewage on the village school.

Speaking to reporters after talks with his Bulgarian counterpart in Sofia, Netanyahu said he had “warned” Europe of what he called “possible Iranian attacks on its soil.”

German publication questions Israel’s alleged attack on Syria after S-300 delivery

The Israeli claim about conducting military operations in Syria after the destruction of the Russian Il-20, which prompted the Russian military to deliver a modernized export version of its S-300 air defense system to Syria, don’t sound truthful, according to Germany’s Contra Magazine.

“Israel has insisted that the S-300s wouldn’t interfere with its ability to attack Syria, but in the space of over a month since then, not a single media report on such an attack has been made. However, on Monday, Israel said that it has attacked Syria since September 17, and did so coordinating with Russia,” the publication wrote.

“The claim,” according to Contra Magazin, “is obviously intended to strengthen Israel’s resolve to attack at will, especially after the lack of such attacks has raised many doubts.”

NATIONALIST NOT GLOBALIST UPDATE: Saudi Arabia Hosts US Evangelical Christians, Israel Supporters

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a rare meeting with American evangelical Christians as the conservative kingdom seeks to open up more to the world and repair an image of religious intolerance.

The delegation was led on Thursday by communications strategist Joel Rosenberg and included former US congresswoman Michele Bachmann, according to an emailed statement from the group, as well as heads of American evangelical organisations, some with ties to Israel.

"It was an historic moment for the Saudi crown prince to openly welcome evangelical Christian leaders to the palace. We were encouraged by the candour of the two-hour conversation with him today," the statement said.

Army says it didn’t know Palestinians targeted on border were minors

The Israeli military on Wednesday said its soldiers did not know at the time that three Palestinians targeted in an airstrike while behaving suspiciously near the Gaza border earlier this week were minors.

The Israel Defense Forces said the teenagers — aged 13 to 15 — were seen sabotaging the security fence surrounding the coastal enclave on Sunday night and digging in the ground in a manner that resembled cases when explosive devices are planted along the border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The IDF is saying this as though it wouldn't have shot them dead, had they known they were minors; that is utter and complete codswallop, and the whole world knows it. These people will say anything to justify the murder of Palestinian kids.

Preventing the next Pogrom

Eleven people were killed in a gun attack on a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last Saturday. It seems mass shooting has become a popular hobby and not just in America. Political violence is mushrooming. It is crucial to try to understand how this has happened to us. What led to this rapid deconstruction of our human landscape, how have we regressed into lethal barbarism and where and when did we lose our ability to care for each other, to be compassionate, to tolerate difference?

Israeli ‘Thought Police’ Lose Effort to Ban Student Over BDS

Imagine being detained and ordered into deportation just for trying to attend a foreign university. That’s what happened to Laura Alqasem, an American student of Palestinian origin. Alqasem arrived in Israel earlier this month to study law at Hebrew University. Alqasem had a student visa, but was detained for over two weeks. Israel fought her entry because Alqasem was on a blacklist for supporting the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, or BDS. Her detention made headlines around the world and sparked a major legal battle.

TV report: Israel silent as Iran hit by computer virus more violent than Stuxnet

Iranian infrastructure and strategic networks have come under attack in the last few days by a computer virus similar to Stuxnet but “more violent, more advanced and more sophisticated,” and Israeli officials are refusing to discuss what role, if any, they may have had in the operation, an Israeli TV report said Wednesday.

The report came hours after Israel said its Mossad intelligence agency had thwarted an Iranian murder plot in Denmark, and two days after Iran acknowledged that President Hassan Rouhani’s mobile phone had been bugged.

It also follows a string of Israeli intelligence coups against Iran, including the extraction from Tehran in January by the Mossad of the contents of a vast archive documenting Iran’s nuclear weapons program, and the detailing by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the UN in September of other alleged Iranian nuclear and missile assets inside Iran, in Syria and in Lebanon.

Will Europe use Israeli drones against refugees?

Europe’s coastal guards are examining whether Israel’s warplanes would be helpful tools in repressing refugees.

In September, the EU’s border management agency Frontex announced the start of trial flights for drones in Italy, Greece and Portugal. There was a major omission in the Frontex statement: the type of drones being tested have been used previously to attack Gaza.

Some details of the companies involved in these trials were published earlier this year. A “contract award notice” revealed that Israel Aerospace Industries was one of two bidders selected.

Israel Aerospace Industries is being paid $5.5 million for up to 600 hours of trial flights.

NYT Op-Ed on Tel Aviv-Jerusalem train recycles sentiment for mythologized past

“In the winter months the landscape is as lush as Ireland,” writes Matti Friedman of the train between Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in his October 18, 2018, New York Times opinion piece, “A Train Ride Back to the Old Israel.” Gazing at the view from the train line, he continues, “but now, at the end of a long summer, it’s dry olive-green and limestone under a pale blue sky.” This gorgeous travel log is a nostalgic exercise in Zionist revisionist history. Throughout the essay, Friedman fetishizes Palestinian history, ignoring the real human beings–and their point of view–at the center of this history to further his agenda of portraying Israel as a Zionist utopia.

Gilad Atzmon on Sunday Wire Discussing the last Synagogue Shooting

I was interviewed yesterday by Patrick Henningsen/Sunday Wire about the recent synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I offered my view of this tragic event and also allowed myself to offer an alternative view of the current dystopia. Unlike most liberals and so called ‘progressives,’ I see the constant rise in mass shooting events around the globe as a symptom of a radical shift in our human landscape. We are rapidly drifting away from empathy and tolerance. In the discussion I suggested that we better look at the root of that shift and identify the disease instead of focusing on the symptoms.

[That's sort of funny, because when I shouted to Trump that "Jews were arrested on 9/11 in New Jersey, not Muslims," and that "Israel did 9/11!," he replied by declaring on live TV that "hes alright, hes okay, he's actually a Trump guy, he's on our side, he's very committed, hes just got a lot of energy."] LOL. :-) Video of his odd response here.

Syria protests at UN over Israel elections in occupied Golan Heights

Syria’s foreign ministry has sent two letters to the UN chief and UN Security Council president protesting against Israel’s holding municipal elections in the occupied Golan Heights, Sputnik reported today.

The Syrian news agency SANA said that the Syrian ministry urged the international bodies to take measures against the “judaisation” of the occupied Syrian territory.

In the two letters, the Syrian government said that the Israeli occupation is determined to hold elections of the so-called “local councils” in the villages of Majdal Shams, Bukata, Mas’ada and Ein Qinya in the occupied Syria Golan Heights.

The government stressed that this contradicts UN resolutions and the Geneva agreements on territories under occupation.

Arab states reject Israel proposal to control Gaza

Arab states reject Israel’s proposal to control the Gaza Strip, Israel’s Channel 7 television station reported yesterday

Israel, the report added, will “stop the demonstrations [at the Israel-Gaza fence] and the rocket attacks on the Gaza peripheries.”

“Israel lives a state between a truce and an escalation,” it added, stressing that it does not adopt the policy of “self-control” regarding Hamas.

Three faces from Gaza fuelling anger

The actual weight they carried on their shoulders was light, but it weighed heavy on the masses that walked with them to the grave. The Palestinians carried the remains of three children – Khaled, Mohammed and Abdul Hamid – with heavy hearts, aching from the new tragedy inflicted upon them.

The three children went out on 28 October to hunt birds in the eastern part of the besieged Gaza Strip. That evening, they did not return to their homes in the Wadi Al-Salqa area, north of Khan Younis. Instead, their souls soared over the Gaza Strip and their dismembered bodies were taken to the hospital morgues. They had been hit by a carefully-targeted attack by an Israeli system that scans the entire area, chooses its targets and then launches missiles. This is how the Israeli army killed three more children besieged in an open-air prison with two million inmates, mostly refugee children and mothers.

How Google wipes Palestine off the map

Like the other Silicon Valley monopolies, Google habitually takes the side of Israeli occupation and war crimes in Palestine – the very term Palestine is not used by their highly influential maps app.

A new report by a Palestinian human rights group last month exposed the depths of Google’s dedication to the Israeli occupation.

With a known history documented back more than 3,200 years, the name “Palestine” is the only term continuously used for the entire territory of the country lying between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

Palestine is the most historically accurate term. But since 1948, when Zionist militias expelled the majority of the Palestinian population from the country by force, a new state, “Israel”, was established.

That state has never declared its borders.

PA is ‘deliberating’ on marginalising the Palestinian people

With the US set to reveal details of the “Deal of the Century” in the forthcoming days, the Palestinian Central Council scheduled time for “deliberation upon important matters” to arrive at stale conclusions which highlight the Palestinian Authority’s penchant for presenting past recommendations as purportedly new stances.

It took the Council two days of debate to reiterate its support for Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas’ rejection of US President Donald Trump’s “Deal of the Century”, to call, yet again, for an international peace conference and adherence to the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002, end security coordination with Israel and suspend recognition of the State of Israel, as well as blame Hamas over Gaza’s deterioration.

In Israel, racism is becoming an established political marketing strategy

It was the 83rd minute of the Israel-Albania match, a week ago on Sunday. A win would have catapulted Israel closer than ever to the European football championship in 2020.

Israel were leading 1-0, as the Albanians kept up the pressure. But then Israel went on the attack; the ball came to Dia Saba, who hails from Majd al-Krum, a Palestinian village in northern Israel. Saba hit a shot from the edge of the area and put his team 2-0 up. Israel was on the way to a historic achievement.

Saba was not alone. Five of the 11 Israelis on the field were of Palestinian origin, the most ever. They were the outstanding players in the match. Their origin did not prevent sports fans in Israel from enthusing over the team.

So is the Jewish public in Israel marching towards acceptance of the Palestinian minority? All the signs point the other way.

How can Gaza's contaminated water catastrophe be solved?

When it comes to survival in Gaza, safe, clean drinking water is not at the top of Mousa Hillah's list of priorities.

Since the 2014 war, Hillah, known to neighbours and family as Abu Ali, has had far bigger worries, which are etched deeply into the exhausted face of the 48-year-old grandfather.

Dodging shell fire from Israeli tanks, he fled with his family from the destruction of his Shuja'iyya neighbourhood, flattened by Israel in an attack so devastating - 7,000 shells in barely an hour - that it astonished even US military officials. ("Holy bejeezus!" one retired general exclaimed.)

The family took refuge for months in an in-law's house near the sea, along with 50 other people. When they returned, Abu Ali found his home - the one he had built after 30 years of working construction in Israel - utterly destroyed.

Brick by board, he rebuilt it, adorning his front entrance, in a dose of biting irony, with repurposed tank shells.

Druze on Golan Heights protest against Israeli municipal election

Israeli police wearing helmets cleared a path for would-be voters outside the balloting centre in Majdal Shams. As protesters continued to prevent people from entering, police fired teargas to disperse the crowd. No one was hurt or arrested.

The town is the largest Druze community in the area of mountainous plateau that Israel captured from Syria in a 1967 war, unilaterally annexing it in 1981 in a move not recognised internationally.

“The Golan’s identity is Arab and Syrian,” chanted the protesters as they put a banner on the entrance reading: “No to elections.”

A US Democratic Party congresswoman described Israel’s nation-state law as “apartheid” at a Palestinian rights event, Mondoweiss reported.

McCollum didn’t hold back when describing the law, which defines Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people.

“Friends, the world has a name of that form of government that’s codified in the nation state law, and it’s called apartheid,” she said.

An Israeli embassy officer spied on student supporters of Palestinian rights, undercover video released exclusively by The Electronic Intifada shows.

Her superior at the embassy did this via a classified server designated “Cables” which, Reifkind emphasized, “I don’t have access to because I’m an American.”

The undercover footage also suggests that Reifkind was engaging in deception when she suggested that Palestinian students were behind an anti-Semitic incident on campus the previous year.

Breaking with tradition

Did the events depicted in the Bible really take place, and did the people mentioned really exist? In their popular book The Bible Unearthed: Archaeology's New Vision of Ancient Israel and the Origin of Its Sacred Texts, archeologists Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman refuted the biblical portrayal of the exodus from Egypt. In their new [2007] book David and Solomon: In Search of the Bible's Sacred Kings and the Roots of the Western Tradition, they have some surprising things to say about two key biblical figures, David and Solomon ... In their book, Finkelstein and Silberman claim that the kingdoms of David and Solomon did not exist as they were described in the Bible.

The Rock of our Existence

With the coming of the Zionists to Palestine, a frantic archeological search started. The country was combed for real, scientific proof that the Biblical story was not just a bunch of myths, but real honest-to-God history ... From the beginning of the effort to this very day, not a single piece of evidence of the ancient history was found. Not a single indication that the exodus from Egypt, the basis of Jewish history, ever happened ... Even if one would like to believe that the Bible only exaggerates real events, the fact is that not even a tiny mention of the exodus, the conquest of Canaan or King David has been found. They just did not happen.
Note: 75% of the founders of Israel had never set foot in Palestine nor had any of their ancestors. Fact.

FLASHBACK - Report: Israel Passes U.S. Military Technology to China

Secret U.S. missile and electro-optics technology was transferred to China recently by Israel, prompting anger from the U.S. and causing a senior Israeli defense official to resign.

The head of defense exports for the Israeli Defense Ministry resigned after a U.S. investigation concluded that technology, including a miniature refrigeration system manufactured by Ricor and used for missiles and in electro-optic equipment, was sent to China, according to the Israeli newspaper Maariv.

Another Israeli news site, Aretz Sheva, reports the U.S. is concerned the technology could ultimately find its way to Iran, which last year sought to buy military equipment from China for its nuclear program.

Gaza's drinking water spurs blue baby syndrome, serious illnesses

This article is the first of a two-part series on Gaza’s water crisis. The second, which examines solutions to Gaza’s water and health catastrophe, was published on Tuesday, October 30.

Gaza - The unshaven doctor with circles under his eyes enters the children's ward at Al Nassar hospital in Gaza City. It's a Thursday evening, almost the weekend. The ward is bleak and eerily quiet, but for the occasional wail of an infant.

But in recent months Dr Abu Samia has seen sharp rises in gastroenteritis, kidney disease, paediatric cancer, marasmus - a disease of severe malnutrition appearing in infants – and "blue baby syndrome", an ailment causing bluish lips, face, and skin, and blood the colour of chocolate.

Before, the doctor says, he saw "one or two cases" of blue baby syndrome in five years. Now it's the opposite - five cases in one year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israelis have a multitude of ways toward insuring that Palestinians don't survive for very long; prohibition of clean drinking water for Gaza's children, is one of those ways.

Depriving anyone of clean water, is a act criminal.

But then again, what else would one expect of a wretchedly apartheid, self-proclaimed theocracy with nuclear weapons?!?

PLO Suspends Recognition of Israel, Withdraws From Oslo Accord

The Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has moved to fully withdraw from the Oslo Accord on Monday, announcing that they are ending their commitment to the deal, and halting all security coordination with Israel.

Halting security cooperation with Israel is a huge move, and it also comes with an announcement that the PLO will withhold recognition of the State of Israel, until such time as Israel agrees to recognize the State of Palestine.

The 1993 Oslo Accord was intended to increase cooperation during a brief transition period leading to Palestinian statehood. With Israel’s far-right leadership having long insisted that the Palestinians will never have an independent state, many in the PLO have argued that security cooperation was just making the permanent Israeli occupation cheaper and giving them legal cover to do things in violation of international law in the occupied territories.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A reasonable move, on the part of the PLO, seeing how little progress has been made since Oslo in 1993, but not one with which the United States will be happy.

Pittsburgh Shooting: Evidence of False Flag Fakery Surfaces

Following my article on the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting and how there was a drill held in the same area 9 months earlier, I received some very important evidence from a reader. This evidence is in the form of a recording of the police radio traffic in the area during the alleged shooting. It makes intriguing listening as it contains anomalies that are perhaps best explained in the context of this having been a fake false flag event. Thankyou to our vigilant reader and to anyone else who spots something noteworthy about this event, send it to us at VT and we will put it to good use.

Oct 30 09:06

Why aren't we calling the Pittsburgh shooting 'terrorism'?

Perhaps the path to end terrorism begins with abandoning it as a term we selectively deploy and actively distort.

A white gunman walks into a synagogue outside of Pittsburgh and guns down 11 congregants after screaming, "All Jews must die!" during Sabbath services. Another self-identifying white male sends a string of "mail bombs" to democratic leaders and journalists from his hometown in Florida, emboldened by nativist fervour and presidential rhetoric. "Whites don't shoot whites," reveals another gunman, amid a racially motivated shooting outside of a Kentucky grocery store that left two elderly Black customers dead.

Three separate incidents, in different parts of the United States, in three consecutive days - all inspired by racial or religious bigotry that drove the culprits to claim the lives of people they hated, or attempt to assassinate people they deemed the enemy.
***
All three incidents had the touchstone elements of terrorism present: (1) an act of violence that is (2) inspired or prompted by a specific ideology. Although the US government does not adopt a uniform definition of terrorism, and competing definitions of the term are often debated, these two elements are present in almost every one.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 30, 2018: MSM REPORTS ABOUT MYSTERIOUS ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES GO WILD

While these reports seem fascinating for supporters of Israeli actions in Syria, the problem is that no evidence exists to confirm such claims. Syrian military and local sources describe the Israeli claims as an example of fake news designed to save the face of the IDF.

It is interesting to note that the comment of the “anonymous source” to Reuters came less than an hour after the Russian news agency Sputnik had released a short interview with former Israeli deputy chief of staff and ex-head of the National Security Council Gen. Uzi Dayan. The general said that the Israeli Air Force would feel no difference even if Syria employs Russia-supplied S-300 systems and claimed Israeli warplanes would eliminate the air-defense systems stating “these weapons do not have any immunity”. This is another sign of the pre-planned PR trick.

Israel Sells $250Mln Worth of Cutting Edge Spy Systems to Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia and Israel held covert meetings “in Washington and London,” which resulted in an estimated $250 million deal, including the transfer of Israeli espionage technologies to the kingdom, Israeli media reported on Sunday, citing an exclusive report by the United Arab Emirate news website Al-Khaleej.

The report has it that a number of the said spy systems, the most advanced ones that Israel has ever sold to any Arab state, have already been successfully deployed to Saudi Arabia and put into practice, with Saudi technicians having previously received professional training in how to operate them. Neither side to the alleged deal has confirmed the information.

ISRAELI FORCES LAUNCH 87 OVERNIGHT AIRSTRIKES AGAINST GAZA STRIP

The Israeli army carried out scores of air strikes across the besieged Gaza Strip in the early hours of Saturday, in the highest-intensity offensive on the coastal Palestinian territory since the summer.

The Israeli army launched at least 87 air strikes, Israeli news outlet Ynet reported, saying it was in response to some 34 rockets fired from the enclave into southern Israel.

Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the rockets, saying in a statement that they were in retaliation for the Israeli army’s killing of five Palestinian protesters on Friday.

“The resistance will not accept the equation imposed by the enemy on the basis of killing on their part and silence on our part,” the group said in a statement.

During the 31st Friday of the Great March, Israel killed six Palestinians and wounded more than 230 others, including around 30 children and four paramedics.

Following this violent crackdown, Israeli fighter jets began the widest wave of airstrikes since August. Though there were no reports of human casualties, the heavy attacks caused severe damage to the Indonesian Hospital in the south of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government is exploiting the Pittsburgh murders to try to demonize Palestine solidarity

Yesterday during an interview on MSNBC, Ron Dermer, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, placed the blame for the attack on both white supremacists and the “radical left,” which is clearly code for BDS activists.

Dermer said:

“One of the big forces in college campuses today is anti-Semitism. And those anti-Semites are usually not neo-Nazis, on college campuses. They’re coming from the radical left. We have to stand against anti-Semitism whether it comes from the right or whether it comes from the left.”

This is a disgusting lie. But it is part and parcel with the recent push by the Israeli government and its supporters in the West to redefine the meaning of antisemitism to include criticism of Israel.

Flashback: Machinations of the Anti-Defamation League

I was in politics for fifteen years, and I think you should start with the assumption: never trust a politician ... When people finally learn the truth, they turn against those who have been lying to them. And I think that if the movement of which you people are the cutting edge can retain dispassion in the face of outrages, setbacks and humiliations, the truth can ultimately prevail. You are doing something worse than criticizing the government of the United States; you're threatening the security of the state of Israel. And the Jewish community is dedicated to preserve that state, and to destroy those who speak against it. Good luck!
