Rhetoric of collective Arab force returns as Trump reportedly calls for establishment of ‘Arab NATO’

The rhetoric of a collective Arab force have returned to the scene, after Reuters news agency quoted on Friday American and Arab officials saying that the Trump administration is quietly pushing ahead “to create a new security and political alliance with six Gulf Arab states, Egypt, and Jordan, in part to counter Iran’s expansion in the region.”

The report said that the administration of President Donald Trump “wants to see deeper cooperation between the countries on missile defence, military training, counter-terrorism, and other issues such as strengthening regional economic and diplomatic ties.”

Reuters quoted the sources saying that the administration hopes for this alliance, which is suggested to carry the name of the Middle East Strategic Alliance, to hold a summit in Washington this October. According to the news agency, the White House confirmed it was working on the concept for several months.

Why We Know So Little About the U.S.-Backed War in Yemen

Yemen is a catastrophe on a scale similar to Syria, but coverage in the United States has been sporadic at best. PBS News Hour did a thorough three-part series, but MSNBC, for instance, has barely mentioned the crisis in a year, during a period when it has done 455 segments on Stormy Daniels (this according to media reporter Adam Johnson).

The reason for inattention is obvious: The United States bears real responsibility for the crisis. A quote from a Yemeni doctor found in PBS reporter Jane Ferguson’s piece sums it up:

“The missiles that kill us, American-made. The planes that kill us, American-made. The tanks … American-made. You are saying to me, where is America? America is the whole thing.”

Israeli authorities attempt to steal the children of a lawyer who saved others’ lives

"The State of Israel was founded on the theft of children. The Old Testament relates how children have been sacrificed: Joseph was sold, Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son. The Madness Gripping Washington

The United States and Israel have been threatening Iran for something like twenty years, using the pretext that it was developing a nuclear weapon initially, but also more recently declaring that Tehran has become a threat to the entire Middle East. Both contentions are essentially lies, concocted by an Israel and Saudi Arabia that would prefer to have Iran removed as a possible impediment to their own ambitions. And they would like the United States to do the removing. Iran is the hottest of all hot spots in the American view, but the tendency of the White House to threaten first before engaging in negotiations has meant that most nations have come to see the United States as the greatest threat to peace worldwide.

Yemen 'on brink of new cholera epidemic', charity warns

Thousands of people in Yemen could be affected by a new wave of deadly cholera in the coming weeks, an international charity says.

In a press release on Thursday, UK-based Save the Children warned the hot summer months are ideal conditions for cholera to spread rapidly.

It added that almost 3,000 suspected cholera cases were reported in the first week of July across the country - the highest number since the start of the year.

"Cholera could spread like wildfire in Yemen, potentially infecting thousands of children and completely overwhelming an already-crippled health system," the charity's CEO Helle Thorning-Schmidt said.

"Many hospitals have been reduced to rubble, and those that are still standing are barely functioning. Doctors have not been paid, pharmacies are understocked, and power cuts happen constantly."

More than one million people were infected with cholera last year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But you have to understand; this is the precise outcome the Butcher of Yemen (A.K.A. Saudi Arabia's Prince Ben Salman) wants to see happen here.

More illness, more starvation, more polluted water, means more deaths, without having to use more American bombs and bullets; that's the math, people!!

And has the cholera infecting and killing Yemenis been weaponised here by the US and Saudis?!?

I can tell you that it has in the past, and that may be what is going on now. Here is an article from 2017, which may shed some light on the history of its use as a weapon.

US and Saudi Arabia using cholera to kill Yemenis

The article goes on to state:

"According to the Library of Congress, Science Reference Services, chemical/biological warfare is the term used to describe the use of chemical or biological agents as weapons to injure or kill humans, livestock, or plants. Chemical weapons are devices that use chemicals to inflict death or injury; biological weapons use pathogens or organisms that cause disease. Pathogens include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and toxins (poisons produced by animals or plants).

William M. Boardman via Readers support news reports:

Since March 2015, the US has supported Saudi Arabia and its allies in their criminal war of aggression against Yemen, committing daily war crimes, especially against civilians, who are now suffering a cholera epidemic with more than 400,000 victims. Cholera is caused by the bacteria Vibrio cholera and has been weaponized by the US, Japan (in World War II), South Africa (under apartheid), Iraq (under Saddam), and other states. To be most effective, cholera must be spread through water supplies. That’s what’s happening in Yemen now. More than two years of bombing has largely destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure, water and sewage systems are destroyed, hospitals and clinics are destroyed, and the population of about 25 million has almost no protection against the spread of cholera. The UN says Yemen’s cholera epidemic is “the largest ever recorded in any country in a single year since records began.”

When any country succeeds in weaponizing an illness, and uses it successfully as the US did with cholera, please understand, and with an absolute, and dreadful certainty, that they will use it again.

And the question you have to ask, going back to an earlier post I created this morning, is why, if this is the worst humanitarian crisis the world is facing right now, are you not being told about it by the presstitutes and warmongers at FOX; CBS; ABC: MSNBC?!?

It is very simple; you are not supposed to know about it, because the military industrial complex, now making billions from its sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia, and the US Deep State don't want you to know, because you might somehow think that this genocide against the Yemeni people, is at all on the right side of history.

Israel’s ‘Jewish nation-state’ law a prelude to annexation

When the Netanyahu government passed a Basic Law this week enshrining a superior set of rights for Israel's Jewish citizens, it ushered in a new era of open apartheid. To appreciate the significance of the new nation-state law, one must understand why the bill split Israel's nationalist camp, and why demographic factors forced it to the fore. After the final vote, ruling Likud lawmaker Avi Dichter, who sponsored the bill's first iteration, explained its true purpose. "We are enshrining this important bill into a law today to prevent even the slightest thought, let alone attempt, to transform Israel to a country of all its citizens," Dichter gloated after the law passed this week ... Of course, ever since the state was founded in 1948, Israel has discriminated against its non-Jewish Palestinian citizens in a myriad of ways.

Water Facility Attack Cuts Off 10,500 People From Safe Drinking Water in Yemen

An attack, carried out this week on the Nushour water facility in Yemen’s northwestern city of Sa’dah, cut off 10,500 people, including over 5,000 children, from safe drinking water, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said on Tuesday.

According to the fund, this has been the third attack on the facility since this March.

"UNICEF deplores in the strongest terms yet another attack on vital and lifesaving water systems in Yemen. A large water facility in Sa’ada, northwest of the country, came under attack this week. This is the third such attack on the same facility. More than half of the project is now damaged, cutting off 10,500 people from safe drinking water," a UNICEF report quoted Geert Cappelaere, the UNICEF Regional Director in the Middle East and North Africa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ah, but you see, this is precisely the consequence the Butcher of Yemen, AKA Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Bin Salman, wants to see happen here: and the US military is enabling his war crimes in Yemen.

I would strongly suggest tht upon his demise, that there is a very special place in hell, waiting for him.

With more cholera and other water-borne diseases infesting Yemen's water, leading to more starvations and deaths, the fewer bombs and bullets will be needed to kill off more Yemeni children and innocent civilians : that is absolutely the math here.

And here is what this war looks like from the Yemeni side, and what is being done to the Yemeni people in your names, and with your tax dollars, please look at the following images: (warning: very graphic)

The Might of Petro Dollar: Why Saudi Arabia Can Continue Its Atrocities in Yemen?

It is clear that there is a significant humanitarian disaster occurring in Yemen that is mostly being ignored internationally as the world keeps its eyes on Syria, Iran, Venezuela and North Korea. So why then is Yemen being ignored?

But with Yemen having a food shortage crisis with ports blockaded, a cholera crisis, and civilians targeted by double-tap airstrikes, including attacks against schools, hospitals, weddings, funerals and any other social event possibly imaginable, why is there little international condemnation against the main perpetrator, Saudi Arabia?

Turkish energy analyst and the Chairman of Ankara-based Institute for Energy Markets and Policies, Dr. Volkan Ozdemir, said in an interview with Sputnik Turkiye in 2017 that:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US-enabled Saudi war in Yemen is NOT forgotten at WRH.

As a Christian pacifist activist, I cannot look away from the genocide which is the Saudi war in Yemen; neither can Mike, although not a "faith guy".

President Trump's decision to further enable these Saudi atrocities in Yemen, by selling the Saudi Government more bombs, bullets, and offering more "guidance", will not be looked upon kindly by history.

UK Favours Extremism Over Democracy in Syria

By propping up Turkey's Afrin operation, the British government has once again supported Islamist-backed military conquest over more liberal forces.

How does a British government respond when an allied state invades another territory with the backing of jihadists, overthrows a democratic experiment and consolidates an occupation? Judging by what Turkey is doing in the Afrin district of northern Syria, the answer is: by supporting it.

Britain, far from helping to defeat terrorism in Syria, is once again aiding it.

As Britain arms Turkey, there is a real risk that such military equipment can end up in the hands of jihadists. Yet the British government defines Turkey as a priority market for promoting arms sales that have been worth more than £200 million ($265m) since 2016, including aircraft, helicopters, drones, grenades, small arms and ammunition.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Congratulations to Prime Minister May to have become the UK's own Merchant Death, this time with Turkey as the primary recipient of the UK's military weaponry.

That you even believed, for one second, that Erdogan, whose meglomania and paranoia is growing by the day, is a force with whom you could reason, for economic gain, I would politely suggest that you think again; you do not know where the weapons you have sold the man will actually wind up, and against whom they will be used.

Or maybe, you didn't give a damn when you sold him those weapons.

Final defense bill would limit US support to Saudi campaign in Yemen

The compromise National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) unveiled by House and Senate Armed Services Committee staffers Monday retained and modified a provision from the Senate-passed version that would require the Saudi-led coalition to meet certain criteria before the U.S. military can refuel its planes.

“Yemen remains an area of intense interest and concern for our members, and we have aggressive oversight in the conference report,” a senior staffer told reporters at a background briefing.

A Saudi-led coalition has been fighting Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen since 2015. The United States has been supporting the Saudi campaign with billions of dollars in arms sales, intelligence sharing and logistics like air refueling.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have grown increasingly frustrated at the Saudi campaign as the civilian death toll rises, most of which has been blamed on Saudi airstrikes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This language will make US enabling Saudi Arabia in their genocide of Yemen more "palatable' to Congress, while civilians continue to get slaughtered indiscrimminately.

Funny: you don't hear a word about this conflict from the mainstream presstitutes.

But as a Christian pacifist activist, I will continue to witness to the US enabling of Saudi war crimes, in Yemen.

Oh, and if you are wandering just what this war is looking like for those Yemenis being killed or maimed for life, here is what your government is doing in your name, and with your tax dollars in Yemen (warning; very graphic visuals):

Images: Yemeni children assassinated by Saudi bombing raids

Now, don't those images just make you prouder than hell to be an American?!?

Don't they?!? Don't they?!?

And trust me, this nicely weasel-worded NDAA will have utterly no effect on the situation on the ground here in Yemen.

Ceasefire Allows Thousands of Yemenis to Flee Port City of Hodeidah

While the ceasefire in the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah has allowed the UN time to try to negotiate a handover and avoid the bloody invasion of a vital aid port, aid groups are warning that the situation inside the city is worsening, and many are using the ceasefire as an opportunity to flee.

Saudi-led forces were in the process of invading Hodeidah when the ceasefire was agreed to. The Houthi rebels have agreed in principle to hand the port over to the UN, so it can keep being used to import aid into the country. Saudi-backed officials, however, have resisted that, saying they want a full Houthi surrender as a condition for the port handover.

This situation has dragged on for awhile, and aid workers say conditions in the city itself are “pathetic” as locals wait for a deal, or an invasion. Those who have the means have been escaping the city, many of them fleeing to uncertain conditions in the capital of Sanaa.

Qatar buys range of arms from Russia, discusses purchase of S-400 missiles

Qatar, which has already negotiated the purchase of AK rifles, grenade launchers and anti-tank missiles from Russia, is also in talks to procure state-of-the-art S-400 systems, the Russian ambassador to the Gulf country has said.
Qatar, which is now at odds with its Gulf neighbors, is expected to take a delivery of Russian conventional arms, including time-proven AK rifles, grenade launchers, machine guns and Kornet anti-tank missiles, according to Nurmakhmad Kholov, the Russian ambassador to Doha.

The Arab nation’s interest in buying Russian weapons extends beyond firearms, Kholov told TASS news agency: “Regarding S-400 air-defense systems, some discussions are underway about the issue, although there is no specific outcome so far.” Without going into details, the Russian envoy reiterated that the Qataris “seem to be willing” to acquire S-400s.

Russia’s re-emergence as a Mideast power is not necessarily good news

Flush with confidence following the successful staging of the FIFA World Cup, the Russian Federation has a renewed confidence about its role in the world. There are plenty of reasons for Russia to feel confident as the country has scored success after success in the past two decades.

Following the chaotic 1990s, marked by a period of steep decline as Russia struggled with the consequences flowing the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the country has steadily rebuilt its infrastructure and prestige in the 21st century.

This Russian revival is almost totally bound up with the charismatic personality of President Vladimir Putin. By tapping into Russia’s Tsarist heritage – and by constantly referencing the successes of the successor state the Soviet Union – Putin has achieved a dramatic transformation in Russia’s fortunes in the world.

No Liberal Rallies Yet for the Children of Yemen

We have yet to learn of any large and widespread U.S. demonstrations on behalf of the children and families of Yemen, where the U.S. is deeply complicit in the creation of a situation that “looks,” in the words of the United Nations’ humanitarian chief, “like the Apocalypse.” UNICEF reported last year that a child dies from preventable causes on the average of once every 10 minutes in Yemen.

As the Associated Press (AP) reported last May, roughly 3 million Yemeni women and children are “acutely malnourished; another 400,000 children are fighting for their lives.”

911: The impossible Cell Phone calls

I chat to Frederick C. Blackburn (also known as blackbird9) who studied engineering and then became an electrical engineer and had a career in IT. He had a Top Secret clearance in the USA. He gave lectures to: Military and Naval Intelligence personnel as well as NSA, CIA and FBI personnel about cell phone and other technology.

We discuss his specialist knowledge with regard to cell phones and why the cell phone technology of 911 did not allow cell phone calls to be received from people in planes. On 911 there were between 15-40 alleged cell phone calls from people on aircraft before the planes crashed into the Twin Towers or elsewhere. Frederick explains why those phone calls were impossible. 911 changed his life because he realised immediately that the collapsing towers as well as the cell phone calls were utterly impossible.

‘If Iran can't export oil no-one in Middle East will,’ Tehran warns

Iran has threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for oil shipments from the Middle East. The warning comes in response to the US, which is trying to cut off Iranian crude exports.

After pulling out of a landmark international deal curtailing Tehran's nuclear program, Washington has ordered countries to cease buying oil from Iran by November 4 or face secondary US sanctions. Major European energy corporations like France's Total have already pulled out of Iran.

Iran's supreme leader's senior adviser for international affairs, Ali Akbar Velayati said his country will retaliate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Nothing ambiguous here!

But there are moments when I wish our very communicative President wouldn't attempt to threaten allies over not importing Iranian oil, and give that ultimatum a "drop dead" date, which I believe, is 4 November.

Trump presses allies to quit importing Iranian oil by November 4

So what happens on November 5th?!? Is President Trump going to attack every single ally which did not stop importing Iranian oil?!?

Or is that the planned start of a military attack against Iran itself?!?

I think it would make sense to start paying attention to large US troop movements in the Middle East right after Labor Day this year.

And Mr. President, please be aware; Russia has historically pledged to protect Iran should it be militarily attacked.

We have seen just how well Russia's weaponry performs in Syria; are you really serious about going to war against Iran, understanding that it will be supported by Russian troops and Russian hardware?!?

I would like to think not, please, Mr. President: at this time in its history, the US military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the money to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war in Iran against Russia.

How the Islamic State Gets Its Drones

A new report from West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center explained how Islamic State build its drone fleet on the cheap and also the fascinating story of its complicated supply chain. “The program appears to have been shaped by two Bangladeshi brothers who leveraged companies in the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, and Spain,” the report said. The brothers created a number of shell companies to order the drones and ship them to Islamic State’s various affiliates across the world.

At the peak of the drone attacks in the spring of 2017, coalition forces were working to pry Mosul out of the hands of the Islamic State in northern Iraq. At the time, the Islamic State was conducting between 60 and 100 drone powered bombing runs a month. A member of the Syrian Defense Forces told a journalist for France 24 in Raqqa that his supply lines were being attacked 15 to 16 times daily.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As those of you know who read this blog, as a Christian pacifist activist, I absolutely abhor violence as a way of resolving geopolitical differences, and I never advocate for it.

That being said, I can understand why violence like this can seem reasonable to those the US government has disenfranchised, and why people can become radicalized in the way these brothers became.

For over the last 20 years, in its wars of conquest in the Middle East, Like Iraq (and unfortunately soon, I fear, Iran), Afghanistan, and Libya, the US government hasn't at all been "the good guy" here; these wars have been fought to expropriate natural resources, like oil, opium, and Rare Earth minerals; insure that the governments of said countries are US-centric; and that the currency in which these resources are sold, is only in US dollars.

The consistent flow of relatively cheap oil lubricates the economic mechanisms in the Western world.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are econonic in their origins, he was absolutely correct.

When people see their loved ones getting assassinated, as frequently happens in places like Yemen and Afghanistan; when they have no power to determine the destiny of their homeland; when leadership is corrupt, and the only thing they have to lose are their lives, which aren't worth a heck of a lot to begin with, the turns toward both radical fundamentalism, and a desire for revenge, against what is frequently a faceless enemy, rebounds in hearts, minds, and souls, and with a monstrous appetite.

In the TV series "Westworld", the guests can do what they will with the hosts, no matter how horriific and vile those actions are toward them, including raping and killing, and these actions have no consequences; the hosts can simply be reprogrammed, and their memories are wiped in order to perform another day. But when those hosts become conscious of what has been done to them, the tables get turned, and suddenly the guests, and the masters of this place, become targets, with frequently brutal outcomes.

In the real world, wars for resources always have real consequences, particularly when people get "nominally conquered" because of those resources, but no matter how many are killed or maimed, do not become "pacified", as has not happened, and probably will not happen, with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The combination of angry, smart, sophisticated, and in turn ruthless against their aggressors, kicks into play, just as it did for these brothers.

Consider the film "Avatar", where the Navi outthink, and outsmart, and ultimately, successfully kick the collective backsides of their would-be conquerers, off the planet, because the costs, in blood and money, have become too extreme for the mining consortium to consider staying.

So how does the US government avoid creating terrorism against it, both at home and abroad?!?

And I hope, please, that all of the alphabet soup agencies, monitoring this site, are paying attention here.

First, I would like to politely point out that this country is producing some of the finest engineering, and scientific minds, on this planet.

Secondly, there should be a Federal Government Challenge/Prize on the development of a post-fossil fuel, post-atomic, renewable energy.

The schools and individuals who have partnered to develop this should be handsomely rewarded financially, perhaps in perpetuity, to insure the continued development of the technology.

Third, this can never be allowed to be purchased to be suppressed by any private corporate entity, and any attempts by a private entity to do this should result in both stiff fines, and jail time for those signing off on the attempt.

Forth, the patent for this renewable energy resouce should remain solely as belonging to the United States of America, and all proceeds from the use by other countries or corporate entities would go to continue funding the program, and for the repair of public infrastructure, which is in desperate need of repair, but for which no state or Federal governmental agency has the funds to do.

I would like to assure my readers that in my world, this is neither Quixotic, nor blue-sky thinking; it is possible, doable, and we, as a nation, are imminently capable of doing this. Remember just how soon the notion of flight led to the creation of passenger jets, and how soon that led to space exploration.

The problem here is a US government, which collectively,, at this juncture in the 21st century, does not believe that the costs, in blood and money, of these wars for resources, have become too excessive to continue, when both morally and economically, these wars already... have become just that.

Amnesty International Calls for Investigation Into UAE Torture in Yemen Prisons

Human rights group Amnesty International has accused the United Arab Emirates and Yemeni forces allied with them against the Houthi government of torturing detainees at a number of secret prisons in the south of Yemen, calling for a war crimes investigation.

The UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, the US, supported by allies in Yemen and others, have been engaged in bitter war against the Houthis since they seized control of the government in the capital of Sana'a on September 21, 2014.

The United Nations estimates that more people will have died by the end of 2018 as a result of the conflict than Jews died during the Holocaust, primarily noncombatant deaths due to practices of forced famines, although a cholera outbreak resulting from destruction of infrastructure from bombing campaigns has also taken many lives. In addition, a number of men have been disappeared by Emirati and Yemeni militias "operating outside the command of their own government," AI said in a report Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Such an investigation will happen only... when pigs discover they are aerodynamic.

The Starving Children of Yemen

Henrietta Fore of UNICEF reports on the appalling conditions in Yemen:

As Fore reminds us, a Yemeni child dies from preventable causes every ten minutes. That adds up to almost 50,000 dead children every year in a war that has dragged on for more than three years. These children are perishing because of starvation created by the Saudi coalition blockade and bombing campaign and from outbreaks of preventable disease that the blockade and bombing campaign have made much harder to combat. The blockade impedes delivery of essential food and medicine and makes them prohibitively expense for most people in a country whose economy has been devastated.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember; the US government and military are complicit in the Saudi genocide and war crimes in Yemen.

How does it make you feel to understand that you are a citizen of a country complicit in war crimes?!?

New $32 Million US Military Logistics Hub in Kuwait Nearly Finished

The US Air Force is on the verge of completing construction of yet another military logistics facility in the Middle East, dubbed appropriately “Cargo City.” The airfield will support the US’ military operations in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, the goals and end dates of which remain elusive.

Adjacent to Kuwait International Airport, US crews have dug through Kuwaiti soil to install new communications cables and antenna systems that will enable both the US and Kuwaiti air forces to operate out of Cargo City, which will be the main aerial debarkation point in the Middle East, the US Air Force's 386th Expeditionary Wing announced in a July 5 news release.

The construction of the $32 million logistics hub has taken place during a time of "massive expansion" at Kuwait International Airport, the release notes.

Saudi Arabia Issues Royal Pardon for Everything Soldiers Have Done in Yemen

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia announced that it is issuing a royal pardon for any and all Saudi troops engaged in the war in Yemen, covering all crimes related to violating military rules and discipline. They said this is to show appreciation for the “heroics” of the invading forces.

The Saudi invasion of Yemen has been widely controversial internationally. Saudi airstrikes have killed massive numbers of Yemeni civilians, and the war has also caused a famine, and the largest cholera epidemic in human history.

Faced with UN criticism, Saudi officials heavily resisted allegations of wrongdoing, and ultimately got the UN to agree that Saudi Arabia would be allowed to investigate its own forces, and police themselves. This pardon shows none of that is going to matter.

Qatar funded Zionist Organization of America

Qatar donated $250,000 to some of the most extreme pro-Israel organizations in the United States, including one that funds senior Israeli military officers to go on propaganda tours.

Joseph Allaham, a lobbyist working for the Qatari government, transferred the money through his firm Lexington Strategies in late 2017 and early 2018.

The sums included $100,000 to the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), $100,000 to Our Soldiers Speak and $50,000 for Blue Diamond Horizons, Inc.

Our Soldiers Speak describes itself as the “vehicle through which the IDF [Israeli army] and the Israeli National Police dispatch senior officers to select campuses overseas” and to give “briefings” to members of the US Congress.

Blue Diamond Horizons is a company controlled by Mike Huckabee, the Christian Zionist former governor of Arkansas.

Saudi coalition acting on behalf of Zionists in Yemen: Houthi

The leader of Yemen's popular Houthi Ansarullah movement says the Saudi coalition's aim is to carry out the Zionist regime's goals in the region.

The enemy is using lies and excuses to justify its attack on our western coast, but their goal is to take over the whole country including its islands, coast and ports, said Abdul-Malik al-Houthi on Saturday.

He noted that the invading forces' agenda came to light after rejecting the UN envoys initiative on the city of Hudaydah.

While praising the role of popular forces for supporting Yemeni troops in the western coast, Houthi called on the nation to continue reinforcing the battle against the aggressors.

"The invaders thought that they could take over the western coast overnight and easily conquer the coastal region, but their failure has become known to everyone," he added.

Yemen on Brink of Catastrophe as U.N. Envoy Pushes for Truce: U.S. backing of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates could be enabling the disaster.

top U.N. diplomat is trying to broker a truce between warring factions in Yemen as aid groups and country experts warn of a brewing humanitarian catastrophe.

Martin Griffiths, the U.N. special envoy for Yemen, is visiting in the capital of Sanaa to mediate between government forces and Houthi rebels, whose three-year war is seen as a proxy for a broader conflict between a U.S.-allied Arab coalition on one side and Iran on the other.

The United Arab Emirates, which backs Yemen’s government alongside Saudi Arabia, has sent forces to the Houthi-held city of Hodeida, whose port supplies the country with 70 percent of its humanitarian and commercial goods.

Aid groups fear that a battle there could make the port inaccessible to the rest of the country, where some 8.4 million people are on the brink of starvation and millions more rely on humanitarian aid.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I sincerely doubt that Martin Griffiths will be allowed to succeed here, in stopping the fighting.

And I say this, because, like the General in the film "Avatar", the US, UAE and Saudi leadership want to create a crater in the memory holes of the Yemeni people so painfully huge, that they never rise up in this manner again, ever.

And if that means genocide through air and ground attacks, starvation, disease, and amputations on toddler's legs from war wounds, with no anaesthesia, terrific! Bring it!

That appears to be your current view of what is, and should be happening, in Yemen, in the eyes of these men, and their military.

But I would like to politely, quietly, and peacefully suggest to the Butcher of Yemen, AKA, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Salman, the UAE president Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and to President Trump, the world is watching here.

IF you choose not to allow a negotiated peace here move forward, after all the war crimes you have collectively inflicted on the peole of Yemen over the last 3 years, the world will be condemning outright what you are doing here, and history will remember you all as war criminals, but nothing more.

And to Ivanka Trump and Melania Trump, two very smart women to whom the President does pay attention: please show President Trump the following images of what US enabled Saudi war crimes look like in Yemen; I don't think the rest of his advisors have shown him these images, and I think he needs to see them.

Images: Yemeni children killed by Saudi Bombing Runs

And no, ladies; these images have not been photoshopped to make them appear to be more gruesome than they already are.

Blaming Iran for the Sufferings of Yemenis Is Laughable

The new U.S. leadership is resorting to every ploys and lies to demonize Iran. The new project of Iranophobia has intensified since Pompeo confirmed as secretary of state in late April. He seems to be superseding in animosity against Iran in comparison to John Bolton, the national security advisor to Trump.

Pompeo’s degree of hatred toward Iran was fully laid bare during his speech at the Heritage Foundation on May 21 in Washington.

It is quite clear to the entire world that it is Saudi Arabia and the UAE – the United States’ close friends – which have created human tragedy in Yemen by strangulating and starving millions of people in the poor Arab country. Maybe it is the easiest way to blame Iran for what Washington’s friends have been doing.

How can Iran, even if it wanted, to help Yemeni rebels while the country is besieged by the Saudi-led alliance. Attempts to link the miseries of the Yemenis to Iran can never hide the crimes being committed by the Saudi-led coalition.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would characterise President Trump, in his wanting to sell more and more weapons to the Saudis, for the purpose of its genocidal assault against Yemen, as the American Merchant-of-Death-in-Chief.

Oh, and BTW, Mr. President: here is what US government-enabled Saudi war crimes in Yemen look like:

Images: Yemeni children murdered by Saudi bombing runs

Mr. President, as a Christian pacifist activist, and witness, as long as there is breath in my body, I will continue to advocate for a US foreign policy which values moral, hard-won negotiations over the use of bombs and bullets, as the way the US should be resolving its international disputes.

But to blame Iran for the craziness of the US-enabled Saudi military's war crimes in Yemen, is disingenuous beyond belief, sir: it will not, and cannot, work, because the American people have awakened from their geopolitical slumber, after having been lied to about the justifications for the wars in Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan, and will be both peacefully, and effectively vigilant, that the US not be lied into another war, this time against Iran, no matter how much Sheldon Adelson, Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the Butcher of Yemen (AKA Prince bin Salman) want the US military to fight this war.

AN AMERICAN CENTURY OF BRUTAL OVERSEAS CONQUEST BEGAN AT GUANTÁNAMO BAY

IT IS A testament to the Washington establishment’s rhetorical dexterity that it labeled Guantánamo Bay home of the world’s most dangerous terrorists. U.S. leaders meant, of course, to refer to the hundreds of non-Americans detained at the base over the past 16 years. But a closer look at the history of Guantánamo tells a different story — one in which the United States, beginning 120 years ago this June, used the enclave in southeastern Cuba to launch decades upon decades of terroristic overseas conquest.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A " take the high moral ground" country would let go of Guantanamo, and give it back to the Cuban government long ago; however, unfortunately, at this time in its history, the US is not that country.

Torture of prisoners of war goes unabated, both at Gitmo, I was force-fed at Gitmo; what guards are now doing is far worse and at Emerati "Dark Sites" in Yemen.

Yemeni prisoners say the Emeriati offices sexually torture them

Torture rarely produces actionable intelligence, but produces, instead, false confessions, in order to get the torture to stop, and adds "depth and dimmension" to the agendas created with which to support and justify the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America's endless wars on hapless countries which have never done anything to us, but just happen to sit on resources, like oil, rare earth minerals, or opium poppies, which the US government wishes to expropriate.

I would like to politely point out that such torture, particularly in Yemen, is being done under the watch of Gina Haspel, CIA Director, who just assured Congress that she would no longer allow torture, if she got confirmed to the post of CIA director.

Unfortunately, it is painfully apparent that with Ms. Haspel, that public posture, and reality, have utterly no meaningful relationship whatsoever in her world.

Number of Yemenis Fleeing Hudaydah Tops 121,000

A new UN report showed that more than 121,000 people have recently fled Yemen’s port city of Hudaydah due to fierce attacks by Saudi-led coalition forces. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in its latest situation report on Hudaydah released Wednesday that displacement from the Hudaydah Governorate continues, Middle East News reported. “Humanitarian partners have verified more than 17,350 households (over 121,000 people) being displaced since June 1,” it added. “More than 10,000 displaced households (nearly 80,000 people) have been assisted with food, emergency kits, and other life-saving support,” it noted. The OCHA said that after the partial calm of the last few days, air raids were carried out near the Hudaydah-Sana'a road and Hudaydah airport, adding that “intensive airstrikes were also reported on 4 July in the Southern Zaid District".

Robert Carter: Jerusalem Embassy Move Beginning for Collapse of US Hegemony over Middle East

British journalist Robert Carter believes that the relocation of the US embassy to Jerusalem al-Quds and the clear American favoritism towards Israel has established the collapse of US hegemony over the Middle East.

Commenting on the Saudi policy towards Israeli-Palestinian conflict and their secret relations with the Zionist regime, Robert Carter added that the Saudis are eager to expand ties with Israel for a number of reasons, one of which he believes is the joint hatred toward Iran.

Another Saudi Coalition Wedding Massacre in Yemen

This is just the latest wedding massacre carried out by Saudi coalition forces. The coalition has illegally treated all of Saada as a military target for three years, and it has routinely struck civilian targets ever since. U.S. military assistance to the coalition enables attacks like this one, and it has not made coalition attacks any less likely to hit civilian targets. On the contrary, by providing the coalition with unconditional backing for its campaign and refusing to criticize them for their war crimes the U.S. makes attacks on civilians a certainty. There is no excuse for providing weapons and fuel to governments that slaughter people in their homes, schools, markets, and during their wedding celebrations. That support must end, and it is long past time that Congress voted to end it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As long as I have breath, I will peacefully, logically, and clearly witness to the US enabling of Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

These people, particularly the children, are not "expendable" or collateral damage; they were innocent civilians who had the horrifically bad luck to be at the absolute wrong place at the absolute wrong time.

Here are some images of what the US is assisting the Saudis in doing in Yemen:

Images: Yemeni civilians, infants, and children, slaughtered by Saudi air raids

If you can look at these, and feel absolutely nothing about the pain, suffering, and death these US-enabled Saudi troops are creating, toward a complete genocide of the Yemeni people... I'm sorry, but you cannot truly be a human being.

CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA'S PARENT COMPANY USED YEMEN AS PSYOP TEST SITE

Leaked documents show that Strategic Communication Laboratories (SCL), the parent company of the notorious Cambridge Analytica, carried out a surveillance operation embedded among local Yemeni populations in 2009. The research and psychological tactics of deception were likely later used against populations around the world including Libya, Syria, and Iran where SCL Group carried out various operations to influence social climates on behalf of their clients.

SLC Group has a dubious history of stirring up trouble with “psychological warfare” in places like Nigeria, Ukraine, Latvia and many Western countries.

The leaked documents, obtained by the Grayzone Project, detail a program called “Project Titania” carried out in Yemen which SCL Group appears to have used for honing their psychological manipulation skills. Grayzone spoke with a media professional who SCL attempted to recruit for an operation in Iran in 2009.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Do you like the fact that the US government is still torturing, or outsourcing torture, in Yemen?!? I sure as hell do not!!

I am having a Jean-Luc Picard, double palm moment, at warp speed, upon reading this.

Analytically, torture just does not produce actionable results; it only gets the tortured person to say what he or she thinks their torturers want them to say to get the torture to stop.

Torture, then, is more about creating confessions with which to justify various agendas the US government and military wish to implant on the minds of American citizens, rather than factual discovery, of what actually happened.

In World War II, a German interrogator by the name of Hanns Scharff, Hanns Scharff, who only used kindness on the American and British POWs he interrogated, and this brought him excellent results completely without the use of torture.

He was so respected by his American military counterparts that after the war, he was invited to teach his techniques to the American military.

But apparently, the CIA, American, and Emirati military leadership missed being able to torture, or outsource torture, and the intense pleasure they achieved, in the bringing of acute pain and death to their prisoners.

Sort of like "Westworld", but where real world consequences do come to bear, at least for these prisoners.

So Congress hired Haspel to head the CIA, where she gave her word that she would never allow torture to happen again, and it is happening right now in Yemen, under President Trump's watch: this absolutely disgusts and sickens me.

It has become painfully clear to me, after 9/11, that I can never believe anything any governmental agency has to tell me, because the Bush administration lied this country into two horrendous wars, against Afghanistan, and Iraq, from which we have never actually recovered, nor from which this government appears to be ready to totally disengage.

100 attacks on journalists in Yemen

Some 100 cases of media freedom violations have been recorded in the first half of 2018 by the Yemeni Journalists’ Syndicate (YJS) reported yesterday.

“The statistics show that the systematic war on the media and press freedom continues in a hostile and violent manner by all sides” of the Yemen conflict, the YJS said in its report. The YJS recorded 100 cases impacting journalists, including the targeting of media organisations.

Journalists endured the threat of kidnappings, arrest, torture, blocking of news sites and suspension of salaries according to YSJ. Some 47 of the 100 cases were attributed to the Yemen government, which reportedly took place in government buildings and security bases.

The report goes on to blame the Houthis for 39 cases, while attributing six to the Saudi-led coalition and eight to unknown group or individuals.

End the Wars To Halt the Refugee Crisis

Italy’s new government, a coalition of the anti-establishment Five-Star Movement and the far-right League party, seems intent on stopping the flow of refugees into the country, as promised on the campaign trail.

However, if politicians continue to ignore the root causes of the problem, the refugee crisis will not go away on its own.

The disturbing truth is this: Europe is accountable for much of the mayhem under way in the Middle East. Right-wing pundits may wish to omit that part of the debate altogether, but facts will not simply disappear when ignored.

European politicians should honestly confront the question: what are the reasons that lead millions of people to leave their homes? And fashion equally honest and humane solutions.

In 2017, an uprising-turned-civil-war in Syria led to the exodus of millions of Syrian refugees.

Yemen President Rejects UN Deal to Take Hodeidah, Raising Fear for Civilians

The fate of the Yemeni aid port of Hodeidah is in many ways the fate of millions of civilians across Northern Yemen, who rely on it as a sole source of food and medicine. The city is under attack by Saudi-led forces, and that is a massive risk.

The UN has tried to prevent this by negotiating a takeover of the port, an idea supported by the Houthi rebels who hold it. The deal, however, appears to have failed, with Saudi-backed President Hadi rejecting any deal to let the UN manage the city as an aid port.

Barring any changes, this leaves the Saudi-led forces continuing an invasion, reliant heavily on airstrikes and drawing increasingly near the ports themselves. This raises the likelihood of the port being severely damaged, and inoperable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is precisely what the Butcher of Yemen, Saudi Prince Salman, wants to see happen here.

He will most probably order his military to shoot to kill those with the bad luck to be left alive after the port is taken, including infants; children; women; and the medically fragile elderly.

Saudi Arabia’s Misleading Email to Congress After Bombing of MSF Cholera Hospital

The Saudis must have been especially worried this time around. In the hours following the bombing of the MSF facility that Monday, June 11, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis acknowledged that the U.S. military advises the Coalition of “no-fire areas where there are civilians, where there’s mosques, hospitals.” When asked specifically about the cholera hospital, Mattis said emphatically, “We have to find out what happened there.” Mattis told the gaggle of reporters that he “just got off the phone” with Gen. Joseph Votel, the head of U.S. Central Command, and that Votel’s staff was “scrambling” to determine what the Coalition had done. It was another admission on Mattis’ part that, at least this time, the United States would independently assess the Coalition’s actions, a responsibility which the Pentagon has not always acknowledged.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Saudis have deliberately bombed schools and hospitals in Yemen for the last 3 years; this is no different from their usual MO, methodically destroying what, for civilized people, should be sanctuaries of healing and respite.

It's presisely what the Butcher of Yemen, AKA Prince Mohammed bin Salman, wants to see happen.

UN Report: Saudi Coalition Behind Most Yemen Child Casualties

The annual “Children and Armed Conflict” report from the United Nations details the deaths of Yemeni children in the Saudi-led invasion. Unsurprisingly, the overwhelming majority of the slain were killed by the Saudi-led coalition.

The UN report verified 552 children killed in 2017 in Yemen. 67% of those children, 370, were directly attributable to the Saudi coalition, predominantly the result of Saudi airstrikes. Saudi airstrikes killing civilians have been an ongoing problem since the invasion.

The report said 83 children were killed in actions by the Houthi rebels, with another 41 killed by fighters loyal to the Saudi-backed government. The others were killed by that government, international allies, and a handful by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government is deeply enmeshed in enabling these Saudi war crimes in Yemen; and as an American who does care, very much, about the future of American foreign policy, I am absolutely outraged at this, and also at the lack of outrage I see in the attitudes of my brother and sister Americans; of course, they can be forgiven, to some degree, for their willful ignorance, but not completely.

After all, when was the last time you saw US military involvement in Yemen covered by the corporate US presstitutes, whose business it is to deflect American awareness from the evil which this country inflicts in so many parts of this planet?!? The short answer is, nearly never.

But I am calling on everyone who doesn't know or understand what is going on here, to take a good hard look at the following compilation of images, and ask themselves: do I really want this being done in my name, and with my tax dollars?!?

Images: Yemeni children getting killed by Saudi airstrikes

UN Says Saudis Are Killing Children in Yemen – What Next?

The UN report verified 552 children killed in 2017 in Yemen. 67% of those children, 370, were directly attributable to the Saudi coalition, predominantly the result of Saudi airstrikes. The report also says Saudi airstrikes killing civilians have been an ongoing problem since the invasion.

To avoid international condemnation, and instead of ending the war and blockade, Saudi Arabia has repeatedly demanded the UN retract previous statements, and at times they have. Making the statement fully public is also more difficult, with the US and Britain, who are backing the invasion, generally supporting keeping it secret.

This does in no way mean that there should be no more pressure on Saudi Arabia over the war. The international community has already given the country a stark warning over their actions in the conflict. It should now issue a resolution that condemns the Saudis and forces them to stop the senseless fighting.

Riyadh gives huge bribes to foreign firms to shut down Yemeni media: Ansarullah

Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement says Saudi Arabia, which has been leading a deadly war on the impoverished country for the past three years, is giving huge bribes to foreign firms in an attempt to shut down anti-Saudi Yemeni media.

Mohammed Abdul-Salam, the movement’s spokesman, made the remarks in a statement carried by Yemen's Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network on Sunday, saying in only one instance Riyadh had given as much as “$30 million to a foreign satellite company to block a Yemeni news channel for just 30 days.”

He added that the so-called military coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, was “sparing no effort” to muffle the true voice of Yemeni people calling out through the country’s satellite television channels and radio stations.

Arab Analyst: Britain Issues UAE Travel Warning to Nationals as Yemeni Missiles on Way to Abu Dhabi, Dubai

Abdel Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of Rai al-Youm newspaper, underlined that the British foreign office's warning to the country's nationals about trips to the UAE indicates the fear that London feels of the threat of Yemeni missiles which might hit Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

"When the British government warns its nationals about threats, the warning has not been issued without a reason and is based on precise security intelligence," Atwan wrote on Sunday.

He noted that the warning will surely annoy the UAE officials as it will have security and economic impacts for the country.

"These unprecedented warnings were issued concurrently with intensified clashes in al-Hudaydah province in Western Yemen and showed that the British government knows Yemen well and has certain information that the current war in al-Hudaydah will not be restricted to Yemen and can last a long time," Atwan added.

Arab-led coalition says killed 8 Lebanese Hezbollah members in Yemen

Forces backed by an Arab-led coalition have killed eight Hezbollah members in Yemen in battles with the Iran-aligned Houthis, the coalition said Monday.

Hezbollah officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Hezbollah has previously denied Saudi accusations that the Shiite Muslim group is helping Houthi rebels in the Yemen conflict, which has become a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

The coalition said in a statement that 41 "terrorist elements" had been targeted in military operations in the mountainous Saada region in Yemen's northwest.

"Among the dead are eight members from Lebanon's terrorist Hezbollah," the statement said without providing further details.

Devastating Humanitarian Crisis: Update on the Situation in Hodeidah, Yemen

Quote from NRC’s Hodeidah Office Coordinator, Saleem Al-Shamiri, in Sana’a:

“Many people fled their homes in Hodeidah already. Sana’a and other cities are receiving many displaced. Water supplies have been cut off in some areas. Even families who refused to leave their house behind, have now been forced to flee because the fighting is closing in. Some of my friends arrived yesterday and today early morning. They are concerned for their future and worried they have lost their homes and income. How will they manage to rebuild their lives again?”

“I have friends who can’t leave their homes because they don’t have the means to travel. They are scared for their safety. They might be left in the crossfire without any water, food or way to escape. I am hoping the warring parties will allow safe routes out of the city as the fighting gets closer. People must be given a chance to save their own lives.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a Christian Pacifist Activist, I decry the actions of the US government in enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

But I seriously doubt that the Saudi, or US governments, will allow safe passage for innocent civilians, and this is why.

Do you remember the scene in the film "Avatar", and I am paraphasing here, where the General decides to "create a crater so deep in the memories of the Navi people", that they will never dare to fight against the mining coalition which is destroying their planet,, ever again?

This is precisely what the US and Saudi Government have, essentially, vowed to do in Yemen.

They will create hundreds of killing fields, so that the people of Yemen, will never again fight their rule, and will be "pacified" into accepting whatever puppet government the Saudis and the US slide into Saana.

There will be no "humanitarian aid" with which to comfort those left standing; all we will see here, is a slaughter, courtesy of the genocidal Butcher of Yemen, Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman, aided and abetted by his BFF in the White House, President Trump.

As I type this, UAE military, overseen by American soldiers, are torturing Yemen prisoners, and unfortunately, again this time, our CIA's Gina Haspel is up to her elbows in more torture, and more blood.

US-Backed forces claime to "liberate" Yemenis, but instead rape detainees in secret.

Why are there no indignant outcries from the corporate Presstitute Media on this?!? Why, in the name of God, are there no requests for US reporters, to embed with these "interrogators" from the UAE?!?

Very simply, they are not allowed. No questions are allowed to be asked, in the runup to this slaughter.

But I will tell you, as long as there is breath in my body, I will continue to witness, peacefully, and never advocating violence, as a Christian, to the evils being done in my name, and in the names of all Americans, here in Yemen.

U.S. Double Standards in the Middle East. Washington Backs Terrorists and Extremists

of the USA.

This statement hasn’t appeared recently. In 2002, the Joint Resolution to authorize U.S. military actions against Iraq cited:

“Iraq continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability posed a threat to the national security of the United States.”

Before carrying out air strikes on Syria, 14 April, 2018, the White House used the same justifications. The American president acted within his legal authority as commander-in-chief “to protect vital national interests – stopping the spread of chemical weapons and preventing a humanitarian catastrophe.” However, if in 2002, the Iraq Resolution was passed by the U.S. Congress as public law No: 107-243, this time President Trump didn’t seek any authorization from other government institutions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The ultimate goal here, by the US government, is quite simple, no matter how much carnage it creates to reach the following goals; control all oil, and other resources in the Middle East, and insure that these resources, are only sold in US dollars.

Yemen War: Iranian Navy Dispatches Warships to Gulf of Aden

On June 21, the Iranian Navy dispatched two warships to the Gulf of Aden, where a fierce battle is ongoing between the Ansar Allah movement (also known as the Houthis) and the Saudi-led coalition for the port city of al-Hudaydah.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, Iran sent a helicopter-carrier and a naval destroyer. The deployment of Iranian warships in the area will likely further complicate relations between Riyadh and Teheran. However, two warships will not be enough to lift a naval blockade from al-Hudaydah.

Meanwhile, the Houthis repelled another attempt by the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies to capture the al-Hudaydah airport in western Yemen recapturing most of the positions, which they had lost previously.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government's participation in Saudi war crimes in Yemen does NOT make me proud to be an American; and it is a matter of great concern to me, that President Trump's two BBFs in the Middle East, are Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza, and the Saudi Crown Prince Salman, the Butcher of Yemen.

US-BACKED FORCES CLAIM TO “LIBERATE” YEMENIS, INSTEAD RAPE DETAINEES IN SECRET PRISONS

The so-called “liberators” in Yemen are sexually and physically torturing detainees at secret prisons. Survivors recall disturbing stories laden with gruesome interrogation tactics for extracting false confessions. Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen attempts to portray themselves as the bearers of freedom and reason.

As an ally of the United States’ “counter-terrorism” operation in Yemen, the United Arab Emirates established 18 prisons throughout territory under their control. An ongoing investigation from the Associated Press has so far identified instances of deranged sexual torture at five of these facilities. The Emirati headquarters in Yemen houses one of such facilities where witnesses have seen American soldiers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, even with assuring the American people that the CIA will not longer torture, or outsource it, Gina Haspel has lied to the American people, yet again.

Ms. Haspel, understanding what you have done, or allowed to be done by the UAE, is an abomination; a profound disappointment;and an irrefutable demonstration, that you are a traitor to the citizens of this country.

You said anything to get confirmed; you lied. We understand that

And President Trump, you, by your inaction, and not firing Haspel on the spot, now that you understand that this is going on under your watch, as President, is horrific in the extreme.

Where are the Hanns Schraffs of the world, when you need them?!?

Hanns Scharff, Nazi Interrogator who revealed the value of kindness

This man was so revered after World War II, that he was invited to teach these techniques of interrigation in American military academies.

Army soldiers, allies kill Saudi troopers, mercenaries in western Yemen: Report

Yemeni army soldiers, backed by fighters from allied Popular Committees, have launched a major operation against Saudi troops and pro-Saudi militiamen loyal to resigned Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi in the country’s western coastal province of Hudaydah, killing and injuring tens of them in the process.

An unnamed Yemeni military source told Arabic-language al-Masirah television network that Yemeni troopers and allied fighters launched separate attacks against Saudi soldiers and their mercenaries north of al-Majlis and al-Durayhimi districts on Friday, dealing stinging blows to them.

The source added that at least 11 armored vehicles were destroyed during the offensives as well.

He further stated that the operations were carried out following a series of surveillance and monitoring the movements of Saudi invaders and their agents.

UAE Officers Film Themselves Raping, Torturing Men In Yemen "Hidden Prisons"

Hundreds of prisoners in southern Yemen swept up on suspicion of belonging to al-Qaida or ISIS are being systematically raped, tortured and humiliated in at least five out of 18 UAE-controlled "hidden prisons," according to seven witnesses who spoke to AP, which also obtained letters and drawings smuggled out of one prison in Aden.

Emiratis have swept up hundreds of Yemeni men into a network of at least 18 hidden prisons on suspicion of being al-Qaida or Islamic State militants. The prisoners are held without charges or trials.

Witnesses said Yemeni guards working under the direction of Emirati officers have used various methods of sexual torture and humiliation. They raped detainees while other guards filmed the assaults. They electrocuted prisoners’ genitals or hung rocks from their testicles. They sexually violated others with wooden and steel poles.

YEMENI WAR REPORT – JUNE 22, 2018: IRANIAN NAVY DISPATCHES WARSHIPS TO GULF OF ADEN

King Abdullah: “No Peace Without A Palestinian State With East Jerusalem As Its Capital”

King Abdullah of Jordan stated, Thursday, that there can be no peace or stability in the region without establishing an independent Palestinian State, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and stability next to Israel.

The Jordanian Monarch stated, during a meeting in Amman with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict remains the core issue in the region, and added that Germany, along with the European Union, have an important role in boosting the efforts to achieve peace and the two-state solution.

“Germany is a leading country among the world, and we are looking for a great role by Berlin, and the European Union, in supporting all peace efforts in the Middle East,” King Abdullah said, “Jordan will also continue its role in protecting the Islamic and Christian Holy Sites in Jerusalem.”

The Entire Western World Lives In Cognitive Dissonance

Millions of people have been separated from families by death inflicted by Washington, and for almost two decades protests have been almost nonexistent. No public outcry stopped George W. Bush, Obama, and Trump from clear and indisputable illegal acts defined in international law established by the US itself as war crimes against the inhabitants of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Syria, Yemen, and Somalia. We can add to this an eighth example: The military attacks by the US armed and supported neo-Nazi puppet state of Ukraine against the breakaway Russian provinces.

The massive deaths, destruction of towns, cities, infrastructure, the maiming, physical and mental, the dislocation that has sent millions of refugees fleeing Washington’s wars to overrun Europe, where governments consist of a collection of idiot stooges who supported Washington’s massive war crimes in the Middle East and North Africa, produced no outcry comparable to Trump’s immigration policy.

James Mattis Is a War Criminal: I Experienced His Attack on Fallujah Firsthand

While reporting from inside Fallujah during that siege, I personally witnessed women, children, elderly people and ambulances being targeted by US snipers under Mattis' command. Needless to say, all of these are war crimes.

During the November siege of Fallujah later that same year, which I also covered first-hand, more than 5,000 Iraqi civilians were killed. Most were buried in mass graves in the aftermath of the siege.

Mosques were deliberately targeted by the US military, hospitals bombed, medical workers detained, ambulances shot at, cease-fires violated, media repressed, and the use of depleted uranium was widespread. All of these are, again, war crimes.

Exclusive: CENTCOM reveals scope of Yemen air campaign

In a major move toward transparency, US Central Command (CENTCOM) provided details to FDD’s Long War Journal on US air strikes against Al Qaeda’s branch in Yemen. Since early 2017, the military previously provided little information on the Yemen air campaign, typically providing only an aggregate number and limited detail on high-value target strikes.

In an email to LWJ, CENTCOM’s Major Josh T. Jacques disclosed the dates and locations of the last five months of strikes in Yemen. The information revealed that since the beginning of 2018, the US campaign against Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in Yemen has focused on three governorates: Hadramout (eight strikes), Al Bayda (17), and Shabwa (three), demonstrating the eastern reach of the terrorist group.

Last year’s publicized strikes were concentrated in the central governorates of Al Bayda and Marib.

Battle Intensifies for Yemeni Port as Dock Workers Still Unload Aid

The battle for Al Hudaydah, the Yemeni port city and lifeline to a nation threatened with famine, intensified on Tuesday as warplanes from a Saudi-led, Western-backed Arab coalition pounded targets citywide in an effort to drive out Iran-allied Houthi rebels.

Fighters exchanged fire over mine-infested ground at the disused international airport south of the city. Houthi tanks fired shells to defend a key coastal road. Rebels dug trenches into approach roads, in anticipation of a fight for the city center.

Even with all that, the port kept operating.

Dock workers hastily unloaded three ships sent by the United Nations World Food Program that contained enough food for six million people for one month, a spokeswoman, Bettina Luescher, told reporters in Geneva. The sheer amount was a reminder of how the fate of Al Hudaydah has become tied to the fate of millions of vulnerable Yemenis.

Scapegoating Iran

Seventeen years of war in the Middle East and what do we have to show for it? Iraq after our 2003 invasion and occupation is no longer a unified country. Its once modern infrastructure is largely destroyed, and the nation has fractured into warring enclaves. We have lost the war in Afghanistan. The Taliban is resurgent and has a presence in over 70 percent of the country. Libya is a failed state. Yemen after three years of relentless airstrikes and a blockade is enduring one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters.

The 500 “moderate” rebels we funded and armed in Syria at a cost of $500 million are in retreat after instigating a lawless reign of terror. The military adventurism has cost a staggering $5.6 trillion as our infrastructure crumbles, austerity guts basic services and half the population of the United States lives at or near poverty levels. The endless wars in the Middle East are the biggest strategic blunder in American history and herald the death of the empire.

Destruction of Yemen

After three years of conflict, it has been estimated that 22.2 million people out of a population of 27.4 million in Yemen are in need of humanitarian assistance. Some 4.5 million children and women are suffering from malnutrition, while 2.9 million people are internally displaced. This is a humanitarian catastrophe by any measure. Why are the US and the UK so committed to the Saudi-UAE war on Yemen?

Saudi-backed Yemeni forces capture Hodeidah airport

Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces have captured the airport at Hodeidah and have started preparations for the more complex task of capturing the city and its port nine miles (15km) to the north. The port is critical to the supply of aid to the rest of the famine-struck country.

Confirmation that the airport on the southern outskirts of the city had been seized after three days of fighting came from both TV pictures and eyewitness accounts. At least 40 Houthi fighters who had held the airport were killed, but most retreated into the city, preparing to fight a potentially intense street-by-street campaign that could endanger tens of thousands of civilians.

As Tensions Rise, Greeks See Sudden 90% Surge In 'Asylum-Seekers' Across Land Border With Turkey

In the last few months, tensions between two NATO member states have escalated dramatically - Turkey has threatened to invade Greek islands, Greece has responded, Turkey has violated Greek airspace 100s of times, and Greeks now see Turkey as the greatest threat to their existence.

And now, in the first five months of 2018, KeepTalkingGreece.com reports that Greece has been Europe’s top entry point for refugees and migrants. According to the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontext, over 19,800 people entered Greece during January – May 2018. At the same time, the land border crossing from Turkey to Greece increased by 90 percent. The majority of these people were Syrians and Iraqis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In light of the fact that both countries are NATO members, it would seem that the guy for the job here would be none other than NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, if he really wants NATO to get its MOJO back.

Stop the squabbling here, get Turkey to behave itself, and not ratchet up international tensions any more than they already are.

EU Backs Effort To Prosecute Israeli Military Officials For Human Rights Violations

The European Union is funding a project to prosecute Israel Defence Forces (IDF) officers for committing violations against Palestinian civilians, according to Israel Hayom, which quotes a local human rights organisation.

The pro-Israel group NGO Monitor analyses the funding and performance of non-governmental organisations which keep an eye on violations committed by the IDF.

“Following the request of Israeli human rights organisations,” it reported, “the European Union has begun funding a project for the prosecution of Israeli military staff involved in the violation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Such prosecutions will be symbolic only; Israel will never allow their IDF members to be extradited for trial, and will continue in defending their worst horrendous behaviour with the excuse: "The Palestians MADE them do it; particularly that Palestinian baby who died of tear gas inhallation at a protest!!"

Israel’s invasion of the Arab capitals

An Israeli delegation will visit the Kingdom of Bahrain on Sunday, adding a new link to the chain of Arab normalisation with Israel. This is occurring at a time when Arab countries are being isolated from their national surroundings and depth, including the Palestinian Authority, which is suffering from a silent boycott as the PA President is in undeclared “isolation” because he rejects the “deal of the century”.

The delegation will participate in the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting. It is both strange to see, and unusual, that Israel’s participation in the meeting was announced in a local pro-government newspaper, Akhbar Al Khaleej. The newspaper quoted a Bahraini official in its reporting of this information.
