Monsanto/Roundup Class Action Lawsuit

Monsanto claims that Roundup targets enzymes supposedly found only in plants -- not in people -- but this is blatantly false.

The truth is, Roundup targets enzymes found in both plants AND people -- specifically in our gut bacteria -- which are vulnerable to potent pesticides like Roundup.

Monsanto’s claim -- that Roundup targets enzymes "not found in people" -- is objectively false and inherently misleading.

The American Cancer Society Admitted That Untreated Cancers Often Go Away Naturally

While researching the use of alternative therapies that were utilized by Suzanne Somers, we came across doctors and media outlets who desperately tried to malign her reputation. Their responses were so hasty that they accidentally revealed statistics that are not normally shared with the public.

"We're finding that about 25 to 30 percent of some cancers stop growing at some point, that can make some treatments look good that aren't doing anything. Until doctors figure out how to identify which patients have cancers that won't progress, the only option is to treat everyone."

-- Dr. Otis Brawley, American Cancer Society's Chief Medical Officer

116 Environmental Defenders Were Murdered Last Year, Mostly in Latin America

As we continue to mark Earth Day, we look at a new report that finds killings of environmental activists on the rise, with indigenous communities hardest hit. According to Global Witness, at least 116 environmentalists were killed last year — more than two a week. Three-quarters of the deaths occurred in Central and South America. Just recently, three indigenous Tolupán leaders were gunned down during an anti-mining protest in northern Honduras, which has become the most dangerous country for environmental activists. We speak to Billy Kyte, campaigner for Global Witness and author of their new report, "How Many More?"

FLASHBACK - Clinton Involved In Arkansas 'Blood Scandal' According To New Documentary Released

The documentary called "Factor 8: The Arkansas Prison Blood Scandal," written and produced by Arkansas native Kelly Duda, made it's debut two weeks ago at the prestigious American Film Festival Institute.

Duda's documentary deals with fresh evidence about the Arkansas prison blood scandal where officials knowingly sold AIDS tainted blood for a huge profit, then deliberately shipped to thousands in Europe and Canada who unknowingly contracted AIDS and hepatitis.

Duda's documentary shows how senior officials in the Arkansas prison system paid inmates to donate AIDS tainted blood while at the same time altering prisoner medical records to make it look like they were not carrying the deadly virus.

The filmmaker said he made an attempt to tie Clinton to the prison blood racket, but was thwarted and stopped every step of the way when he tried to unseal old Arkansas state records.

22 Mt Everest climbers die in Nepal earthquake

"We have confirmed reports of 22 deaths and 62 injured," informed tourism ministry spokesperson Mohan Krishna Sapkota said.

Powerful aftershocks rocsked Nepal Sunday, triggering fresh avalanches at the Everest base camp. Climbers reported that the aftershock caused more avalanches at Mount Everest, just after helicopters airlifted to safety those injured when a wall of snow hit the base camp on Saturday.

"There are over 200 missing. But there is no confirmation on how many could buried under snow in the avalanche or making their way back down on their own," Sapkota added. Foreign adventurers, hikers and guides at the base camp went missing when the avalanche swept down the Everest.

Nepal Earthquake Triggers Avalanche at Mount Everest Base Camp; At Least 18 Dead

An avalanche triggered by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Nepal plowed through Mount Everest's base camp Saturday killing at least 18 people and injuring dozens more.

The base camp's nylon tents stood little chance against the torrent of snow and debris that rushed down the mountainside, smothering everything in its path. The avalanche — or perhaps a series of avalanches hidden in a massive white cloud — plowed into a part of base camp, a sprawling seasonal village of climbers, guides and porters, flattening at least 30 tents, Tshering said. All of the dead and injured were at base camp.

Figures Don’t Lie, But Liars Figure — Medically Speaking

By Catherine J. Frompovich

From very early on in life, everyone learns how important math is, especially that one and one equal two, not three or even two-and-a-half! However, when it comes to statistics and other mathematical markers for business, industry, and even science, numbers sometimes belie the reality of the facts, depending upon who wants to prove what, and to whom.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about the cost of healthcare—or is it sickness care—in the United States, and how it’s been escalating despite the purported advances in medical science and even the outlandish contention that vaccines can help to reduce sickness and its costs by improving, what’s euphemistically called, ‘herd immunity’. Let’s get one thing accurate: I don’t consider myself—or any person—to be a member of any animal herd. I’m a human being...

Obamacare: AMAC Says The ‘Silence is Deafening’ As We Await Its Fate

“You don’t hear many people talking about the Affordable Care Act these days. It appears interest in Obamacare has dwindled to perhaps its lowest level in the five years since Obamacare was born in 2010. Is it because opponents and proponents of the law are holding their collective breath in anticipation? There’s a lot at stake. If the justices rule that federal subsidies are legit, it’ll be business as usual but if they deny subsidies it will be a devastating blow to the law as it stands,” Weber said.

But the fact is that, behind the scenes, the new Congress has been working on a “course correction” that has its origins well before the enactment of Obamacare.

Scientists find huge magma reservoir in Yellowstone 'supervolcano' (+video)

Beneath Yellowstone’s surface, seismologists at the University of Utah have discovered a huge reservoir of hot, partly molten rock – more evidence that Yellowstone with its earthquakes and geysers is a 'supervolcano.'

Scientists and tourists have always known that Yellowstone National Park featured lively geologic wonders – regular small earthquakes and two-thirds of the world’s geysers, including Old Faithful – all constituting what’s known as a “supervolcano.”

Now, seismologists at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City have made a new discovery about Yellowstone’s subsurface plumbing, specifically a reservoir of hot, partly molten rock more than four times larger than the shallower magma chamber that scientists already knew about. To give that some perspective, the newly discovered reservoir would fill the Grand Canyon 11 times, compared with 2.5 times for the shallower chamber.

Official: US Government Confirms That Fracking Is Causing Earthquakes in Oklahoma

Back in March, 21WIRE reported on the destructive history of Fracking and the disturbing industry practice of pumping radioactive waste back down into the ground – and all the health risks this has posed to successive generations – including the toxic contamination of our groundwater resources.

Now the US Geological Survey has been released, which details how the same hydraulic fracturing, or ‘fracking’ process used to extract natural gas and oil from shale rock beds – is responsible for unnaturally inducing earthquakes in places like Oklahoma (see full report below). Regardless of the recent findings, the industry is still in complete denial.

Monsanto sued in Los Angeles County for false advertising

Today a class action lawsuit (Case No: BC 578 942) was filed in Los Angeles County, California against the Monsanto corporation. The suit alleges that Monsanto is guilty of false advertising by claiming that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, targets an enzyme only found in plants and not in humans or animals. Monsanto makes this claim to support the contention that glyphosate is harmless to humans.

In the lawsuit, the argument is made that the targeted enzyme, EPSP synthase, is found in the microbiota which reside in our intestines and therefore this enzyme is found in humans and animals. It is further stated in the lawsuit that there are many human and animal health problems associated with the disruption of our intestinal microbes.

How the media fell for a GMO front group attack on Dr. Oz

“Dr. Oz has repeatedly shown disdain for science and for evidence-based medicine, as well as baseless and relentless opposition to the genetic engineering of food crops,” states the letter, which was sent soon after Dr. Oz aired a show about glyphosate, the herbicide associated with most genetically engineered crops that was recently designated as a probable human carcinogen by the World Health Organization.

The complaint to Columbia was signed by Dr. Henry I. Miller and nine colleagues, “all of whom are distinguished physicians,” the letter claims.

So who are these prominent distinguished physicians?

Mathis-Lilly didn’t ask that question, nor did reporters who covered the letter for the Associated Press, Washington Post, USA Today, NPR, Vox or New York Daily News.

If they had, they would have learned that not all the physicians on the letter are so distinguished. One was stripped of his medical license in New York and sent to federal prison camp for Medicaid fraud.

NASA May Have Accidentally Created a Warp Field

Meanwhile, in the lab, NASA and other space programs were working on prototypes of the EmDrive or RF resonant cavity thruster invented by British aerospace engineer Roger J. Shawyer. This propulsion device uses a magnetron to produce microwaves for thrust, has no moving parts and needs no reaction mass for fuel. In 2014, Johnson Space Center claimed to have developed its own low-power EmDrive.

Which brings us to today’s warp field buzz. Posts on NASASpaceFlight.com, a website devoted to the engineering side of space news, say that NASA has a tool to measure variances in the path-time of light. When lasers were fired through the EmDrive’s resonance chamber, it measured significant variances and, more importantly, found that some of the beams appeared to travel faster than the speed of light. If that’s true, it would mean that the EmDrive is producing a warp field or bubble.

Whooping Cough Outbreaks Traced to Change in Vaccine

The recent outbreaks of whooping cough in the United States may be due, in part, to a change made two decades ago to vaccine ingredients, a new study finds. In 2012, the United States had about 48,000 cases of whooping cough (also called pertussis) — the most cases since 1955. Although the numbers dropped in 2013 and 2014 to about 29,000 cases yearly, there are still far more cases now than in decades past. Between 1965 and 2002, there were no more than 10,000 cases yearly.

The Link Between Fracking Activity And Earthquakes Is Getting Stronger

On Tuesday, scientists from Southern Methodist University added to the growing body of research linking small earthquakes to oil and gas wastewater disposal. That body of research is particularly important to the popular but controversial process of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, which produces significantly more wastewater than conventional drilling.

On the same day, Oklahoma’s government announced that it would officially embrace that large body of scientific research, and start figuring out how to deal with its growing earthquake problem. In the last decade, Oklahoma has experienced a dramatic increase in earthquakes — an increase that has happened in tandem with the spread of wastewater disposal from fracking operations across the state.

Coal Companies Are Selling Coal To Themselves To Get More Government Subsidies

In what is being described as a fundamental shift in how the coal industry does business, over 40 percent of all coal produced in Wyoming is now being first sold not to a power plant or a utility, but to a subsidiary of the same company that mined the coal — a 17-fold increase since 2004 for the U.S.’s largest coal-producing state.

According to a new report by the Center for American Progress, these inside deals between coal companies and their own subsidiaries (known as “captive transactions”) are aimed, in part, at intentionally dodging federal and state royalty payments and maximizing taxpayer-funded subsidies from the U.S. Department of the Interior.

VT Senate votes to end a vaccine exemption

The state Senate voted Wednesday to end the philosophical exemption for childhood vaccinations and to make the full range of shots a condition for enrolling in school.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In 1976 the US Government mandated vaccination against the swine ful, then had to call it off when the vaccine started killing fifty times as many people as the flu did. Today the push is the MMR vaccine, sold using fear tactics of the current measles outbreak. But the vast majority of the people catching measles have had the vaccine (as was the case with the last mumps outbreak) suggesting at the very least the vaccine does not work, or worse, the vaccine is causing the illness, which happens a lot more often than you might imagine.

The CDC reports that not a single American has died of measles in the last ten years, yet the Vaccine Court, the body set up to arbitrate settlements from vaccine damage, acknowledges more than 100 Americans have died from the measles vaccine.

Now, the giant pharmaceutical corporations make vast profits selling medicine to people who do not really need it (not unlike the traveling medicine show salesmen of as bygone era) and no doubt share these profits generously with politicians during campaign season.

But I hold it to be the most inalienable of human rights to decide what does or does not go into our own bodies. We are, after all, human beings and not livestock owned by the government!

Fracking-Induced Earthquakes Highlighted in New USGS Map

The U.S. Geological Survey on Thursday released a landmark new study and map highlighting the location and frequency of earthquakes thought to be caused by human activities such as drilling or hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.

In a statement, the USGS said that the sharp increase in earthquake activity in the central and eastern United States since 2009 "is linked to industrial operations that dispose of wastewater by injecting it into deep wells."

The study is the first comprehensive assessment that includes what the USGS calls "induced" earthquakes into its forecast maps, which detail the likelihood of an earthquake occurring within a 50-year period. The maps are used for building codes, insurance rates, and emergency preparedness plans, among other applications.

Another unexpected eruption in the Los Lagos Region today heightened fears of local waters becoming contaminated, residents developing severe breathing problems and more flights being grounded.

The ash covered cars and houses in cities as far as 18 miles away from the source of the eruption as another massive evacuation effort gets underway.

Previous and equally violent eruptions at Calbuco have continued for up to a week, according to a volcanologist from Oxford University who told MailOnline it is impossible to predict what will happen next.

Six Month-Old Baby Dies Just Five Days After Receiving 13 Vaccines

According to Alisa, the doctor spent a long time deciding exactly which vaccinations Bently should receive and told Alisa that they shouldn’t give him too many. The doctor eventually decided on a total of 13 vaccinations, which Alisa now believes led to Bently’s death just five days later.

If this were not bad enough, the hospital then decided to blame Alisa for Bently’s death and called child protective services (CPS), who immediately removed her two year-old daughter from the home and gave her to the grandmother to care for her.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Like Human-Caused Global Warming, the vaccine myths are not science but religion and their adherents willing to lie and frame parents for the deaths of their children to protect the "faith."

As a side note, I have been using Web of Trust Firefox plugin to block dangherous sites (but will be uninstalling it after this post). I have noticed that online propagandists for various agendas, whether global warming, vaccines, Israel, what have you, are loading up WOT with bogus complaints in the hopes that unwary readers will be deterred from reading what the self-appointed gate-keepers do not want them to read. This is what I was presented with when I followed the link to this story!

As mentioned above, I will now uninstall WOT.

Fracking linked to rise in Texas quakes

Another slam-dunk for the anti-fracking lobby, as new evidence draws a more direct link between hydraulic fracturing and earthquakes in North Texas. The study is the first time researchers were able to move past ‘possible’ and into ‘most likely’ causes.

Who Granted The GMO Evangelists The Monopoly On Compassion?

Apparently, I am a “nut job” because I adhere to anti-capitalist, socialist, human-hating ideology. Not only that, I am working to keep millions in poverty and assisting in “crimes against humanity.” I guess that’s the type of thing human-hating ‘nut job’ individuals do. Well, it is according to the warped world view of pro-GMO individual Paul Evans, who appears to be associated with the ‘allow golden rice’ website and the ‘Galileo Movement’.
