White House: Russian Military Action Against ISIS in Syria Would be 'Destabilizing'

Today's lesson in how propaganda works: The rumor mill turns a trickle of a story early this week about "thousands" of Russian soldiers deploying to Syria any day -- a wholly unsourced story originating on an Israeli website -- into a torrent of hyperventilating about the "Russian invasion" of Syria.

Today neocon convicted felon Eliot Abrams took to the Council on Foreign Relations website to amplify the Israeli article (again with no sources or evidence) to a whole new and more dramatic article ominously titled "Putin in Syria." Abrams adds "reporting" by Michael Weiss, who has long been on the payroll of viscerally anti-Putin oligarch Michael Khodorkovsky, without revealing the obvious bias in the source. Never mind, all Weiss adds to Abrams' argument is that the Pentagon is "cagey" about discussing Russian involvement in Syria before again referencing the original (unsourced) Israeli article.

The Hidden Forces Behind Syria’sPresident Bashar al-Assad

Just like President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Syria’s President Bashar Hafez al-Assad has been the victim of unrelenting character assassination and false reporting by the Western Mainstream Media (MSM). Many of the MSM outlets throughout the Anglo-American Axis (AAA) have published one false story after another in a concerted effort to turn the entire world against him. And for what?

Why are they so determined to overthrow one of the very few righteous leaders in the Middle East?

Benjamin Netanyahu rejects calls for Israel to take more refugees – and pledges to build a fence instead

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed an urgent call from his opposition leader to "not be apathetic" in the face of desperate Syrian refugees.

The leader of the ruling right-wing Likud Party said Israel was "not indifferent" to the fates of families fleeing persecution from its northern neighbour - which it considers an enemy state - but that the country was not big enough to take them.

He has instead announced that a new 18-mile fence will be built along the frontier with Jordan, Reuters has reported.

Dogs of Western resentment bark as Chinese WWII parade passes

The importance for China of this coming Thursday’s parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII in the Asia-Pacific cannot be overstated enough.

The parade rolling past Tiananmen Square officially celebrates the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. This is an extremely serious – and sensitive – business for 1.4 billion Chinese and the Chinese diaspora all across the world.

And once again, the West – displaying trademark cultural/historical insensitivity – has blown it. Beijing is carefully scrutinizing the diplomatic ramifications of shows and no-shows. Symbolically, absences speak volumes.

President Vladimir Putin will be in Beijing, as well as leaders of the four Central Asian ‘stans’ that are part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Sanctioned Terrorism

…we must fight sanctioned terrorism today.

What is left unmentioned and unrecognized in our collective psyche is the kind of terrorism that has been deliberately obfuscated: sanctioned terrorism or terrorism with a license – sanctions.

Shamelessly, even after sanctioned terrorism took the life of one million Iraqis, the UNSC licensed terrorism against Iran – sanctions, without any remorse for the lost lives of 1 million Iraqi victims of sanctioned terrorism and untold numbers or other victims across the globe.

The overall failure to identify and deliberately obfuscate this act of terrorism has enabled this premeditated act of terrorism to continue with impunity. The success of this deception is owed to controlling the narrative with complicity from the media. This has been so effective that even the victims of sanctioned terrorism fail to grasp that they are being subjected to terrorism.

Terrorism is foundation of Israeli regime: Rouhani

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani says the Israeli regime has been founded and continues to survive on terrorism.

President Rouhani made the remark at an international conference commemorating the Iranian victims of terrorism in the capital, Tehran, on Monday.

“This regime (Tel Aviv) began its work on the basis of intimidation, terror and occupation, and is continuing [to move on] the same anti-human path today,” Rouhani said.

In his keynote speech, the president also referred to Takfiri groups, including Daesh, Taliban and Boko Haram, as other sources of terrorism in the region.

Blowback on a NATO beach – Pepe Escobar

We’ve had it coming from the beginning.

And when it came, virtually the whole planet reacted with stunned silence. Sometimes it takes just a photograph to put a noxiously complex version of hell in perspective.

We’ve had it coming when the “we’re the new OPEC” Bush administration invaded, occupied and destroyed Iraq – creating the set-up for the establishment of Al-Qaeda in Iraq.

We’ve had it coming when the Petraeus surge bribed Sunnis to half-heartedly fight Al-Qaeda in Iraq – which then took its time to reorganize in the heart of the desert, change its name to Islamic State and plot a comeback.

We’ve had it coming when NATO, enthusiastically “led” by London and Paris, and allied with hardcore Salafi-jihadis, set out to duly “liberate” Libya into a failed state run by militias.

US warns Russia against more aid to Assad amid new violence

In Washington, the State Department issued a statement after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry called Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to express concern over unconfirmed reports "suggesting an imminent enhanced Russian military build-up" in Syria.

While not elaborating on or confirming the accuracy of those reports, the State Department said Kerry made clear to Lavrov that such actions "could further escalate the conflict, lead to greater loss of innocent life, increase refugee flows and risk confrontation" with the anti-Islamic State coalition operating led by the U.S. that is carrying out strikes in Syria.

Britain Signals Move Towards Air Strikes In Syria

Britain moved closer to military action in Syria as a senior minister on Saturday said Europe's migration crisis had to be tackled at its source and a newspaper said a parliamentary vote on bombing Islamic State militants in Syria could take place next month.

Finance minister George Osborne said Britain and Europe had to find a way to tackle the conflict in Syria as well as provide asylum to those genuinely fleeing persecution.

"You've got to deal with the problem at source, which is this evil Assad regime and the ISIL (Islamic State) terrorists, and you need a comprehensive plan for a more stable, peaceful Syria," Osborne told Reuters in an interview.

"A huge challenge of course, but you can't just let that crisis fester. We've got to get engaged in that."

The Sunday Times newspaper said British Prime Minister David Cameron wanted to hold a vote in parliament in early October to pave the way for air strikes against Islamic State in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to British Prime Minister Cameron; how is it conceivable, sir, that someone of your intelligence can get this issue so damned twisted?!?

It is the US's and coalition's bombing which is causing the refugee crisis in the first place.

More bombing is simply going to exacerbate the problem, not cure it.

Unless by "cure" you mean a serial genocide against innocent Syrian people, who are getting killed or maimed for life, as they are just desperately trying to get out of harm's way.

And if this is, in fact, what you mean, you have the morals of a trout.

The world is acutely aware, sir, that leadership in the UK, the US, and Israel are collectively salivating for "regime change" in Syria, because with Assad out of the way, Iran will be more isolated, and (theoretically) potentially more willing to acquiesce to Western demands.
The West is hoping that regime change in Syria may lead to regime change in Iran.

But at what cost, Mr. Prime Minister: at what cost to the Syrian people?!?

You, sir, as the head of the government of the UK have a moral obligation, to both the Syrian people and the world, to sort this out before your military go in with guns and bombs blazing.

UN Text Messages Over 200,000 Syrian Refugees: Food Aid To Be Cut Off

More than 200,000 Syrian refugees living in Jordan learned via text message that the U.N. food aid they rely on to survive is getting completely cut.

The World Food Program has been warning since as early as last summer that a funding crisis has stretched the organization thin, and has caused the group to cut back on resources it can offer Syrian refugees in Jordan. But refugees say the latest announcement caught them completely off guard.

“What shall I do? Sell myself or sell my three girls?” Om Rabab, a refugee who goes by a pseudonym for security reasons, told BuzzFeed.

Earlier this month, 229,000 refugees who live in urban communities in Jordan, were notified that they would lose out entirely on their food vouchers. They had been receiving $14 per month, and now they will not receive any assistance from WFP, Julie Marshall, Canadian spokesperson for WFP, told The Huffington Post.

Their options right now are grim.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is absoflippinglutely unbelievable.

One has to wonder what kind of checks and balances are placed by the WFP on donations they receive, and how this actually came about.

There was an article which appeared in foxnews.com in late May this year, indicating that WFP funds were badly mismanaged:

The United Nations World Food Program in 2013 and 2014 used millions of dollars of specially designated donor trust funds as an all-purpose piggy bank, often without creating safeguards to ensure the money was used properly and as its donors had intended, according to an internal report by WFP’s Office of the Inspector General. Furthermore, the lack of centralized management “guidance” on how to use the designated funds led to “unclear and ad hoc governance and management arrangements across the board,” the report says -- a chaotic free-for-all. The audit makes no allegations of wrongdoing -- it wasn’t set up to do that -- but warns that a number of trust funds it sampled “evidences some instances where trust funds were used for purposes not consistent with the original intent or without corporate endorsement of its purpose and/or related commitments.” The full amount of WFP’s so-called corporate trust funds, which were handled in such non-kosher ways, is not revealed in the report, which covers WFP activities from Jan. 1, 2013, to roughly the autumn of 2014. Instead, it notes that as of October 2014, there were 53 such accounts in existence, with some $210 million “relating” to them.

When we are talking about the fragility of refugee's lives, this never should have happened in the first place.

CENTCOM DOCUMENT REVEALS COALITION'S HIDDEN CIVILIAN CARNAGE IN SYRIA AND IRAQ

A newly-declassified CENTCOM document – published by Airwars and international media partners for the first time on Thursday – reveals that by early May of this year, the anti-ISIL Coalition had already internally investigated dozens of events involving at least 325 possible civilian deaths from airstrikes in Iraq and Syria.

Yet despite often significant published evidence of civilians killed in Coalition strikes, most allegations were dismissed as “Not credible” within 48 hours – with few signs of later follow-ups.

The document also reveals for the first time that French, Canadian, Dutch and Australian aircraft have all been involved in problem incidents in Iraq, which between them allegedly killed up to 30 civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The more carnage the US and its allies create, the more radicalization they create, to the point of these wars becoming neverending.

Troops May Be Needed In Syria - Senior MP

A senior Conservative MP has told Sky News that airstrikes on Islamic State in Syria may not be enough to restore peace - and political leaders may have to consider sending in troops on the ground.

Colonel Bob Stewart, a former UN commander in Bosnia, said: "I wonder whether in the end someone - I hope it's not the British - is going to have to go in on the ground with military forces to sort out the country."

The MP, who is a member of the Commons Defence Select Committee, said he hoped such a military effort would be a broad coalition under the auspices of the UN.

His intervention comes as the Chancellor George Osborne spoke of the need to "deal with... the evil Assad regime and the ISIL (IS) terrorists".

Syria crisis: Government to make case for military action with vote as soon as next week

Ministers are to make a case as early as next week for British military action in Syria, it has emerged.

Sources told the BBC’s Newsnight programme last night the Government is to lay the groundwork for a new Commons vote on the issue as Downing Street is keen to take the “next step” against the so-called Islamic State.

The success of RAF airstrikes in Iraq and the training of Kurdish and Iraqi security forces are to be cited as part of the argument to broaden military intervention to Syria.

A small force could also be sent to Libya, according to the BBC’s sources.

It is believed a team of about 20 troops would be sent to help secure Libya’s borders, which is seen as a key step towards stemming the flow of migrants into Europe.

He argues that Isil needs to be dealt with "for once and for all" and that "air strikes and other British military assistance" may be needed in Syria.

82 new US-trained Syrians prepare for fighting

Coalition is rotten at its core! Time to change the players and game itself to create a shot at success.

A US military source has revealed in private conversation that the US-led Coalition formed to target the Islamic State (IS) and other terrorist groups is currently training 82 new recruits for its Syria operations. These include 12 new fighters in Jordan and 70 in Turkey.

A spokeswoman for the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM), Major Genieve David, would not confirm these numbers. “We are not giving out numbers due to operational security concerns,” she said via phone.

But Turkey’s Foreign Minister Minister Mevlut Çavu?o?lu’s comment a few days ago that “in the second group we have around 100 (fighters)” suggests that the source’s numbers are likely to be accurate.

It is uncertain, anyway, if all 82 trainees will graduate from the Coalition training program.”

Russia and Syria: The Die Is Cast

Hope the Russians will bring peace to Syria and the refugees will return home.

Despite doubts and denials, Russia is about to embark on an ambitious expansion of its Syrian presence, likely to change the game in the war-torn country. Migrants arrive in Austria after Hungary provides buses

Thousands of migrants have crossed into Austria, after Hungary's surprise move to take them by bus to the border.
For days the government had blocked them from travelling by train, but it relented after many began walking towards the border on Friday.
About 4,000 people arrived in Austria, with many moving on to Germany. Meanwhile a second group has set off on foot from Budapest towards the border.
Austria says the migrants can apply for asylum there or carry on to Germany.
The move comes as European Union countries are struggling to agree on how to deal with a surge of asylum seekers - many of whom have fled conflict in Syria.

This mass exodus out of Syria can be blamed squarely on a thoroughly failed US foreign policy for that country.

Putin: People flee from Syria because of ISIS, not Assad regime

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the fight against terrorism should be a coordinated international effort, and Russia is taking steps to form such a coalition. He added that in Syria it should go hand in hand with an internal political process.

“Of course, we know that there are different approaches to Syria. By the way, people are running away not from the regime of Bashar Assad, but from Islamic State, which seized large areas in Syria and Iraq, and are committing atrocities there. That is what they are escaping from," RIA Novosti quoted Vladimir Putin as saying on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

“They [IS] kill hundreds and thousands of people, burn them alive or drown them, cut off people’s heads. How are people supposed to live there? Of course, they run away.”

He stressed that it is necessary to fight terrorism in all forms, saying, “We really want to create some kind of an international coalition to fight terrorism and extremism.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin just checkmated the US. Putin knows the whole War on Terror is a fraud, a cover for US conquest and regime change. Israeli helicopters transport terrorists injured in Syria battlefield: Report

Israeli helicopters have transported for treatment to the occupied territories six injured members of terrorist groups operating against the government in Syria, a report says.

The official Syrian news agency, SANA, quoted Israeli media on Friday that the helicopters transported the wounded the day before.

One of the injured militants was taken to a hospital in the city of Safed and the other five were transported to a medical center in Haifa.

The news comes as no surprise given the fact that the Tel Aviv regime has a long history in supporting militant groups against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad over the past more than four years of turmoil in the Arab country.

Reports say Israel has set up field hospitals near the border with Syria to treat the injured militants coming in from battlefield.

A desperate father and a train ride with such grim echoes: ROBERT HARDMAN on the trains carting migrants off to detention camps in Hungary

As word reached back to Keleti, there was disbelief – as much among locals as the migrants themselves. You did not need to be a historian to sense the chilling echo of Europe’s not-too-distant past. The last time people were duped on to trains around here, they ended up in Auschwitz.
Let us be clear that there is nothing remotely comparable to the Nazi era in the conduct or intentions of the Hungarian authorities.
But whatever the validity of their arguments that they are only following EU rules, they are managing to do so with an astonishing lack of basic humanity – not to mention basic public relations.
It should also be said that many Hungarians are appalled. ‘I have no words. I am ashamed to be a Hungarian,’ Gyorgy Kakuk of the opposition Democratic Coalition told me.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder; is Hungary looking at indefinite detention in these camps for the "crime" of being refugees, many of whom cannot possibly get back to Syria?!? And how is THAT going to play out internationally?!?

What about the children?!? Will they be educated?!? Will they have basic medical needs met?!?

The images of the young man, on the train tracks, desperately hugging his wife and child, will haunt me for the rest of this lifetime.

But I can tell you with great assurance who those images will not haunt: the US governmental and military personnel who would characterize these people...as simply "collateral damage" in creating regime change in Syria.

Syrian Suffering vs. Palestinian Suffering

The tragic photo of the body of a three-year old Syrian boy, Aylan Kurdi, drowned in the sea when attempting to flee that war-torn nation with his family, is seared on the minds of all but the most heartless of people who have seen it. Still wearing his little sneakers, he would seem to be only asleep, where he not lying alone, face down, on a Turkish beach, having been washed ashore by the tide. The unspeakable horrors that his desperate family fled, at great and, as it turned out, tragic risk, can only be imagined by anyone who has not experienced them. The entire world is crying out for a resolution to the problems that led to the death of this child, his brother, mother and countless other desperate refugees.

Gladstone wrote that while the United States has not ratified the treaty, it has abided by its provisions. That’s a flat out lie, according to Greenwald, who provided a detailed and specific account of their use.

Flashpoint: White House Confirms Russian Presence In Syria, Warns It Is "Destabilizing"

Two days ago we reported something which we had anticipated for a long time but nonetheless did not expect to take shape so swiftly: namely, that with Assad's regime close to collapse and fighting a war on three different fronts (one of which is directly supported by US air and "advisor" forces), Putin would have no choice but to finally intervene in the most anticipated showdown in recent history as "Russian fighter pilots are expected to begin arriving in Syria in the coming days, and will fly their Russian air force fighter jets and attack helicopters against ISIS and rebel-aligned targets within the failing state."

This was indirectly confirmed the very next day when an al-Nusra linked Twitter account posted pictures of a Russian drone and a Su-34 fighter jet - the kind which is not flown by the Syrian air force - flying over the Nusra-controlled western idlib province.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin has played this beautifully. The US created and supplied ISIS in Syria to use as a proxy army against Assad and to justify US bombing of Syrian assets under the guise of attacking ISIS. Now Putin has turned the US propaganda back on itself, going into Syria on Assad's side and really attacking ISIS, and the US cannot object without admitting that ISIS and indeed the whole "War on Terror" is a fraud concealing an agenda of invasion and conquest.

John Kerry's Seen The Picture Of The Dead Syrian Refugee And Believes The U.S. Can Do More

Secretary of State John Kerry suggested on Thursday that the United States would play a greater role in alleviating the increasingly high-profile Syrian refugee crisis, which the United Nations believes to be the worst refugee dilemma in 25 years.

"We could do a lot more to protect those people," Kerry told The Huffington Post's Sam Stein.

Speaking from the State Department, Kerry acknowledged that while America has donated over $4 billion in humanitarian assistance to help Syrians, the situation in their war-ravaged country and in neighboring states remains dire for millions.

Kerry did not suggest that the U.S. should be taking in more refugees. Rather, he indicated that any increased American effort would focus on working with existing refugee camps in other countries.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Since the United States Government created this mess, with its ongoing wars without end, it has a moral responsibility to resolve the problem.

And BTW, where PRECISELY did that "...over 4 billion dollars in (alleged) 'humanitarian assistance' actually go?!?

Forgive me, but I want to see the books on that one.

PUTIN: ASSAD WOULD "ACCEPT" SNAP ELECTIONS TO AVOID "TOTAL CHAOS"

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has agreed to early parliamentary elections and to share some power with his opponents, a concession that may facilitate a broader international coalition against Islamic State, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

Russia would consider participating in the coalition and the Russian president has already discussed the issue with U.S. President Barack Obama, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Putin told reporters in Vladivostok on Friday. Russia has been pushing for a wider campaign against Islamic State that would include Assad, something the U.S. and Europe have opposed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As always, Putin has played this brilliantly.

‘West creates refugees by destroying Islamic nations’ – Chechen leader

The head of Russia’s Chechen Republic claims the current asylum seeker crisis in European countries originated in the aggressive policies of the United States and the EU. He also called upon all Muslim nations to jointly fight the root of the problem.

“If today no one rises against the inhumane policies of the Western countries, tomorrow the disaster may come to any Muslim country. I call upon you to urgently discuss this problem, to develop a unified position and to save the lives of thousands of people,” Ramzan Kadyrov wrote on his Instagram account (Kadyrov uses Instagram as a social network for public statements).

“Tens of thousands of Muslims are dying. Women, old people, children and young people as well. Under such conditions the leaders of Islamic countries has no right to remain silent, to stand aside and remain simple observers,” he added.

Double displacement: Palestinians flee violence in Syria, then Lebanon

Having fled Yarmouk, a besieged camp for Palestinian refugees in Syria, during 2013, they took shelter in Lebanon’s Ein al-Hilweh camp. Last week, they were uprooted because of fighting between armed groups within that camp.

In the Musalli Mosque — just outside the camp — Najem, his wife and his four daughters have been sleeping on the floor alongside hundreds of others who fled the violence.

“We had nowhere else to go,” he said. “A lot of people came to the mosques for shelter but others had to sleep in the streets.”

Islamic State has access to chemical weapons production

Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, claimed that the IS fighters' usage of chemical weapons will rise to large-scale and transboundary level.
The IS is known to have obtained access to scientific technical documents on the production of chemical weapons. They also seized chemical enterprises and engage foreign specialists in the synthesis development of the chemical warfare agents.
According to Zakharova, there is a threat of the extension of their terror activity beyond the territories of Syria and Iraq, as well as the whole Middle Eastern region.

Photo of man carrying lifeless body of young child becomes a symbol of Europe’s migrant crisis

A policeman carrying the lifeless body of a young child from a beach in Turkey has become one of the most visual symbols of Europe’s refugee crisis so far.

That photo and others taken at the scene have sparked outcry throughout the world, bringing the severity of the migrant crisis to the forefront. They’ve been widely shared on social media – some Twitter users adopting the hashtag #KiyiyaVuranInsanlik (humanity washes ashore) – and through international media channels.

Another 13 refugees, believed to be from Syria, washed ashore Wednesday while apparently trying to reach the Greek island of Kos from Turkey. They sacrificed their lives in the vain hope of reaching the relative safety of the European Union.

Webmaster's Commentary:

None of these Syrians would be refugees were it not for the US attempts to oust Assad and put in yet another US puppet ruler. The blood of these innocents stains the hands of the entire US political establishment!

Top Israeli News Portal Says Russia to Intervene in Syria Against ISIS

Top Israeli news portal Ynet (outlier of a top Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronot) suggests that thousands of Russian Air Force personnel to start arriving in Syria. A most interesting read

We don't think it's going to happen mind you, because:

Kremlin has a civil war in Ukraine to pay attention to
Putin isn't going to risk a Russian pilot getting beheaded on TV in a foreign land
Russia has a bad experience with terrorist attacks and doesn't want them back

Article also says Russians and Iranians are determined to equip Syria forces so they're not defeated by ISIS - this part we very much believe

By Tony Cartalucci

The Daily Beast’s article, “Petraeus: Use Al Qaeda Fighters to Beat ISIS,” reveals the final piece to the “safe haven” or “buffer zone” puzzle, providing the world a complete picture of how the United States and its regional allies, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Jordan, and others, plan to finally overthrow the government in Damascus, and eliminate Syria as a functioning nation state through the use of listed terrorist organizations responsible for over a decade of devastating global war...

MIGRANTS, IMMIGRANTS OR REFUGEES? DEBUNKING DEHUMANIZING PROPAGANDA

Well guess what — it’s too late! The crisis already happened and it’s the biggest global displacement since World War II.?

United Kingdom — DISCLAIMER: I just saw a photo taken inside a recently discovered lorry that contained 71 decomposing bodies. And I am angry — very angry.

No one really knows how those people ended up in the lorry found in Austria, but police are claiming to have since arrested some of the trafficking gang. It is almost impossible to imagine what strips someone of their humanity to such a point that they knowingly load 59 men, eight women, and four children into a giant metal box with no ventilation and wire the doors shut.

The assumption so far is that many of those found dead were Syrian.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, it is the US enabled and fought wars which is causing this massive displacement.

And these people, desperate to get to some point of safety, are simply "collateral damage" to the US government.

According to Western diplomats, a Russian expeditionary force has already arrived in Syria and set up camp in an Assad-controlled airbase. The base is said to be in area surrounding Damascus, and will serve, for all intents and purposes, as a Russian forward operating base. In the coming weeks thousands of Russian military personnel are set to touch down in Syria, including advisors, instructors, logistics personnel, technical personnel, members of the aerial protection division, and the pilots who will operate the aircraft.

Are Russians Sending Military Support To Syria? Potential For Conflict With NATO?

By Brandon Turbeville

If reports coming from YNet News are accurate, the Syrian crisis just became more complex and more dangerous. The report would be great news for the Assad government, however, as it suggests that, in addition to providing Syria with six new MIG 31 jets and providing satellite images with the SAA, the Russians will also be delivering an expeditionary force of Russian soldiers.

YNet claims that the Russian force will be made up of fighter pilots, attack helicopter pilots, advisors, technicians, logistics personnel, instructors, and members of the aerial protection division. The forces are to be stationed at a permanent base in Syria. Although the Russians already maintain the Port of Tartus, YNet suggests that the new base of operations will be an “Assad-controlled” location in an area surrounding Damascus...

ISIS Fighters Seize Part of Syrian Capital of Damascus

Battles are reportedly ongoing in the Saudi capital city of Damascus after a sudden attack by ISIS fighters has left them with possession of part of the Qadam District, the first time any rebel faction has had anything meaningful inside the capital itself.

Actually how much is held in the city is unclear, with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claiming that ISIS only holds a couple of streets, but ISIS themselves saying they hold half of the very significant district, and showing video of their fighters advancing significantly.

ISIS’ main target in the area near Damascus has long been the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk, which had been a de facto suburb of the capital before the war. Now, the fighters are pushing into the city itself, something that was once seen as unthinkable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ISIS, a construct of the US government, is being waived at the American people as a "justification" for sending US ground troops into Syria.

And I have a short memo on the subject for the Obama Administration on this issue: what part of "HELL, no!!" are you having difficulty understanding here, please?!? I BELIEVE I am speaking the most clear and plain English I can muster. Why the difficulty in comprehension on your end, please?!?

Any thinking person understands that DC's desire for regime change in Damascus is driving this, because Syria is Iran's great friend in the region.

Ex-intel officials: Pentagon report proves US complicity in ISIS

According to leading American and British intelligence experts, a declassified Pentagon report confirms that the West accelerated support to extremist rebels in Syria, despite knowing full well the strategy would pave the way for the emergence of the ‘Islamic State’ (ISIS).

The experts who have spoken out include renowned government whistleblowers such as the Pentagon’s Daniel Ellsberg, the NSA’s Thomas Drake, and the FBI’s Coleen Rowley, among others.

Their remarks demonstrate the fraudulent nature of claims by two other former officials, the CIA’s Michael Morell and the NSA’s John Schindler, both of whom attempt to absolve the Obama administration of responsibility for the policy failures exposed by the DIA documents.

Syrian Army Uncovers Gas Masks and Weapons Left Behind by ISIS in Al-Hasakah City

The gas masks are somewhat of a concern to the Syrian Arab Army, as ISIS has reportedly used mustard gas against the Islamist rebel forces in northern Aleppo, and sarin gas against the Peshmerga forces in the Kirkurk area of northwestern Iraq.

Syria Shoots Down Israeli Warplane F-16 Bomber, Using Russian S-300 Air Defense System

Yesterday, Friday, August 21, 2015 in the early hours, Damascus time, an Israeli US made F-16 fighter-bomber, flew into Syrian airspace brazenly and fired at Brigade 68 and, then, turned and flew back toward Brigade 90 in Qunaytra in order to insure a safe landing in occupied Palestine if the aircraft was struck. It was struck. An SA-9 from the Iftiraas Air Defense Base and an SA-2 near the Khalkhaala AB were fired. But, the technical wizardry was most on display when an S-300 (SA-10 “Grumble) super-air-defense missile was fired from the Republican Guard base near the Mazza AB at the foot of Qaasiyoon Mountain west of Damascus. This was done so that the F-16’s electronic countermeasures would first fix on the SA-2 and SA-9 while the S-300 plowed forward to exterminate the vermin inside the Israeli aircraft. The S-300 vaporized the Israeli bomber.

Israel Punishing Syria for Russian S300 Sale

Israel’s broad air assault on Syria has nothing to do with retaliation, no more than the massive assault on Gaza had anything to do with Hamas rocket assaults on Israeli villages, assaults confirmed only by Israeli sources.

There is a real purpose to the timing of this Israeli attack and that is the promise of Russia to deliver a fully upgraded S300 system to Iran, one that totally nullifies Israel’s air advantage and even Israel’s ability to hit Iran with nuclear armed ICBMs.

The recent attack on Syria is, in actuality, an attempt on Israel’s part to discredit President Putin and Foreign Minister Lavrov. What few if any in the west understand is how thoroughly Putin has humiliated Netanyahu, a man whose mental stability has long been in question.

Netanyahu sees his bombing attacks on Syria and his open support for ISIS and her sister organizations as daring Russia to move against the US-Israel alliance.

All of this is more or less coordinated with the White House.

Western Propaganda Method: Claim Dead Terrorists As Dead Civilians

By Brandon Turbeville

By now, the propaganda coming from the US State Department and the United Nations as well as their media mouthpieces should be familiar. According to these institutions, the Assad government is evil, illegitimate, and it intentionally massacres civilians. These claims are easily proven false and have been proven false in the past. Indeed, I have discussed these types of claims at length in my own articles and exposed them for being nothing more than weak attempts to convince Western peoples that Assad is a butcher and the terrorists are democracy-loving freedom fighters.

Such can be seen in the recent attempt to portray the Syrian Air Force as wantonly murdering civilians with “barrel bombs” in places like Douma...

US Shows its Real Face in Choosing Turkey over the Kurds

In its choice of allies in the battle against IS, the U.S. is showing that defeating the jihadists might in fact not be its number one priority.

When waging war, picking the right allies is a careful business. You must make concessions, without giving in too much. You need to rely on someone else, without becoming too dependent. You need to stand firm, and be flexible at the same time. War-time allies can turn into bitter enemies after victory has been declared, and your worst enemy might in fact prove to be your best friend after all.
