Intel: Why Israel plans to fill in US void in Syria

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared today that Israel would increase its efforts against Iran’s influence in Syria "in a very decisive way and with support and backup from the US.” The comments come after US President Donald Trump’s announcement Wednesday that he was pulling US troops out of Syria caught Israel by surprise, just as it did other US allies as well as Congress and key figures in the Trump administration itself. The United States had previously promised Netanyahu that US troops would remain in Syria until Iran and its proxies were removed. The Israeli leader, after speaking with Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, said that the pullout will be coordinated with Israel.

Saudi Arabia Agrees to Finance Rebuilding of Syria - Trump

US President Donald Trump said in a statement on Monday that Saudi Arabia has agreed to pay for the reconstruction of Syria rather than the United States financing the reconstruction of that country.

"Saudi Arabia has now agreed to spend the necessary money needed to help rebuild Syria, instead of the United States," Trump said via Twitter.

Trump has welcomed Riyadh's decision, adding that it is "nice when immensely wealthy countries help rebuild their neighbors rather than a Great Country, the US, that is 5000 miles away."

'Allies should be reliable': Macron 'regrets' Trump's decision to pull out of Syria

French President Emmanuel Macron has bemoaned the decision by his US counterpart to withdraw troops from Syria. Such a move is unbecoming of any "ally," since they should be "reliable" and "fight shoulder to shoulder," he said.
"I very deeply regret the decision made on Syria," Macron said on Sunday, speaking at a news conference during his visit to Chad.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump announced his move to withdraw US troops from the country, citing the "defeat" of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS). While the US president had promised to do this previously, the actual decision apparently caught many by surprise.

Syrian government and pro-Iranian sources have increased their activity in the eastern part of Syria in response to the announced decision of the US administration to withdraw troops from the country.

On December 22, a spokesperson for Iraq’s Kata’ib Hezbollah, Jafar al-Husseini, told al-Mayadeen TV that the group is ready to coordinate with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in order to protect Syrian Kurds.

He noted that the U.S. withdrawal had been expected and revealed that Kata’ib’ Hezbollah has “continuous and intensive communications” with Kurdish commanders in northeastern Syria. According to al-Husseini, the U.S. is planning to hand over its role in the country to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The U.S. Coalition carried out a new airstrike in the Euphrates River Valley region of Deir Ezzor, today, targeting an area near the front-lines of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to a military source in Damascus, the U.S. Coalition bombed the Halbiyah-Zalbiyah Bridge that links the territories controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces and Syrian Arab Army in western Deir Ezzor.

Pondering the Fate of Syria and the Will of God

All people, religious or not, who care about humanity will take strength from the resilience of the Syrian people in the face of overwhelming odds.

"In my lifetime, there has never been a greater force of evil than the terror rained down on Syria by foreign nations. Its cruelty and savagery have had no bounds. Nonetheless, Syria has defended itself against the economic might of 2/3 of the world’s great powers and has beaten them all. As a career military officer and student of military affairs, I cannot explain how Syria could accomplish this if it were not the will of God.”

These were words spoken by U.S. Virginia state Senator Richard Black during a recent visit to Syria. Here is a link to more of what he said.

Here’s what may be driving a US troop withdrawal from Syria

Reports of a total and immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria come amid heightening tensions — and growing risk of military confrontation — between the U.S. and Turkey.

Turkish forces want to push their troops into Syria. The U.S.-backed Syrian Kurds want to keep the Turkish forces out. And the U.S. has struggled for months to keep both players happy.

A confrontation between the U.S and Turkey, officially NATO allies, would create a geopolitical crisis at the heart of the world’s most powerful military alliance

Elites United in Panic Over Syria Pullout, Afghanistan Drawdown

Open-ended war continuation has so much momentum in the US that President Trump’s announced pullout from Syria shocked the nation. Followed up the same week with a drawdown from Afghanistan, the mainstream is now completely apoplectic.

On the left and right, comfort with the status quo was virtually uniform. The arguments behind condemning the drawdowns vary depending on the side of the aisle the commenter is on, but the message is uniform opposition to ending a war Congress never authorized in the first place.

Conservative hawks are playing the usual fear-mongering about threats that have been ongoing since 2001, with suggestions that either not being in Syria, or being in Afghanistan but at a lower troop number, will lead to “the next 9/11.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

OF COURSE, they are panicked; imagine how much of their collective portfolios are heavily invested in the military industrial complex, and how these withdrawals will affect their collective portfolios!!

The monied LOVE perpetual war (as long as they, themselves are not threatened), because it fattens their collective bottom lines; this is an absolute no-brainer.

Dec 23 09:56

Hillary Clinton gave a full-throated defense of the war machine Friday on Twitter while attacking President Trump for moving to pull out of Syria.

The Resistance icon said: "Actions have consequences, and whether we’re in Syria or not, the people who want to harm us are there & at war. Isolationism is weakness. Empowering ISIS is dangerous. Playing into Russia & Iran’s hands is foolish. This President is putting our national security at grave risk."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This woman is every US Deep State Warmonger's and military industrial complex's wet dream, and is desperately attempting to capitalize on Trump's pullout of Syria with Netenyahu and his cronies who see US perpetual war in the Middle East, (only to be fought, of course, with American blood and American money) as their only way to to accomplish their goals of complete annihilation of the Palestinian people, and the way forward toward building Eretz Israel.

Sorry, Mrs. Clinton: what may be seen as "good" for Israel, may definitely not good for the future of this country, and you seem pathologically incapable of distinguishing between the two, which means that as President, just as President Trump has done, up until he had that "come to logic moment" on Syria, you will be planning to outsource America's foreign policy in the Middle East to Israel.

This would continue to be immeasurably costly, because as you are well aware, Israel is a nuclear armed country bristling with American made weapons, and has the full capability of defending itself, should something nasty come down against it.

Why is the US pulling out of Syria?

S President Donald Trump's sudden decision to withdraw US forces from Syria is a reminder that this is not an ordinary time in Washington.

The political establishment and Congress have been forcing the president's hand on key foreign policy challenges, from Russia to Saudi Arabia, but Trump had a trick up his sleeve on Syria. He has reasserted his executive power at home by effectively moving to limit US power abroad.

Now 2,000 US troops are scheduled to withdraw from northern Syria within the next 100 days, leaving behind much uncertainty for both allies and foes.

Dec 23 09:05

Endless war and military expansionism has become so normalized in establishment thought that even a slight scale-down is treated as something abnormal and shocking. The talking heads of the corporate state media had been almost entirely ignoring the buildup of US troops in Syria and the operations they’ve been carrying out there, but as soon as the possibility of those troops leaving emerged, all the alarm bells started ringing.

Russia Laughs Off US Claims It Defeated ISIS, Does Not Trust US Withdrawal From Syria

The presence of United States forces in Syria does not contribute to a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis in the Arab country, spokesman for the Russian presidency Dmitry Peskov said.

“The presence of the US forces on the Syrian soil does not help reach the political and diplomatic settlement. Of course, the involvement of Washington in the relevant talks under the UN bumbershoot, the harmonious work of the US officials with [UN Envoy for Syria Staffan] de Mistura in the interests of this settlement would contribute to reaching this final goal,” Peskov told Russia’s Channel One.

According to Peskov, the main efforts around Syria at the moment are focused on forming the commission that will rewrite the country’s constitution, which for the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, can be completed early next year.

Syrian withdrawal and homeless at Christmas

President Trump’s announcement of a more or less immediate withdrawal of US forces from Syria is of great significance, if he means that is what he says, and if what General Eisenhower called the military-industrial complex allows him to implement it. The president says that ISIS has been defeated and, even more questionable, he says it was defeated by him. So, as Father Christmas joyfully cavorts in Damascus and Aleppo where last year he would’ve had his head cut off, we ask: “Has Islamist fanaticism actually been defeated, and if so, by whom?” To help us, we invited a distinguished Canadian journalist and Arab affairs expert Sharmine Narwani.

Veterans For Peace Statement on Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from Syria

Veterans For Peace is pleased to hear that President Trump has ordered a total withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria, where they had no legal right to be in the first place. Whatever the reasoning, withdrawing U.S. troops is the right thing to do.

It is incorrect to characterize the U.S. military intervention in Syria as “fighting terrorism,” as much of the media is doing. Although the U.S. fought against the ISIL Caliphate (aka “ISIS”), it also armed and trained Islamist groups, including al-Qaeda aligned forces, who are seeking to destroy the secular, multi-religious Syrian state and establish a harsh fundamentalist order of their own.

Russian Forces to Set up Military Base Near Al-Tanf in Southeastern Syria

The Russian Army is planning to set up a military base near the US-run base in Al-Tanf region in Southeastern Homs near the border with Jordan, field media activists reported on Saturday.
The activists in Syria's Desert reported that a number of Russian military vehicles along with military hardware and pre-fabricated rooms have been dispatched to the Syria Desert in Southeastern Syria.

They further said that a number of Syrian soldiers have been accompanying the Russian convoy.

The sources went on to say that the Russian convoy was sent to Zaza strategic region between Syria Desert and the small towns of Eastern Qalamoun along the Damascus-Baghdad international highway almost 50 km away from the US-run Al-Tanf base.

In the meantime, Arabic Sky News pointed to the Russian convoy, and said that the Russian forces are planning to build a military base in the region.

Defense Secretary James "Mad Dog" Mattis resigned from his position effective February 28. He disagreed with the president's decision. It was the second time in five years that an elected commander in chief had a serious conflict with Mattis' hawkishness. President Obama fired him as Central Command chief for urging a more aggressive Iran policy. Mattis is also extremely hawkish towards Russia and China.

President Trump campaigned on lessening U.S. involvement in wars abroad. He wants to get reelected. He does not need a Secretary of Defense that involves him in more wars that have little to none defined purpose.

Mattis is an ingrained imperialist. He always asked for more money for the military and for more meddling abroad. One of Mattis' little notice acts as Defense Secretary was a unannounced change in the mission of the Pentagon:

Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due – Trump Is Right on Syria

"Impulsive, irresponsible, and dangerous." Such was the way, just this morning on CNN, that Democratic Representative, and House Minority Whip, Steny Hoyer described President Trump’s recent announcement that he’s bringing home the 2,000 U.S. troops currently in Syria. Last night, Republican Senator Lindsay Graham – a true hawk’s hawk – declared on the Senate floor that Trump’s decision is a "disaster," and a "stain on the honor of the United States." Two points here, one minor, one major – let’s begin with a semantic quibble: when maintaining national "honor" becomes a last ditch argument for continuing indecisive, perpetual war, perhaps it really is time to leave. And, more importantly, there’s this: anytime that Steny Hoyer and Lindsay Graham are in agreement and share a disdain for a foreign policy decision – even a Trump decision – well, then, the president might just be on to something.

Will Trump Hold Firm on Syrian Pullout?

"We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there," wrote President Donald Trump, as he ordered the withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Syria, stunning the U.S. foreign policy establishment.

Trump overruled his secretaries of state and defense, and jolted this city and capitals across NATO Europe and the Middle East.

Yet, Trump is doing exactly what he promised to do in his campaign. And what his decision seems to say is this:

We are extricating America from the forever war of the Middle East so foolishly begun by previous presidents. We are coming home. The rulers and peoples of this region are going to have to find their own way and fight their own wars. We are not so powerful that we can fight their wars while we also confront Iran and North Korea and face new Cold Wars with Russia and China.

Defense Officials: Trump Decided to Leave Syria After Call to Turkey’s Erdogan

According to US defense officials familiar with the situation, President Trump’s decision to withdraw US forces from Syria was made following a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

This talk came following Erdogan’s threat last week to invade Kurdish eastern Syria, where US forces are deployed. Officials say that Erdogan essentially warned the US forces to “get out of the way” of the invasion.

US officials had been warning Erdogan against the invasion before that call. Immediately following the call, Erdogan claimed to have been given Trump’s blessing to go ahead with the invasion. It’s not clear, but the implication seems to be that Trump has agreed to get out of the way.

Other reports indicate that there have been debates of US policy in Syria, with respect to Turkey, for awhile, with some arguing that the US alliance with the Syrian Kurds was always temporary, and that the US alliance with Turkey is a long-term priority.

Israel to escalate fight against Iran in Syria after U.S. exit - Netanyahu

Why Trump’s Peace Signal in Syria Could See US Clash With Russia in Ukraine

Trump’s abrupt call for US troops to leave Syria is being lambasted by his domestic critics as “a gift to Russia.” The paradox is that peace signals on Syria could bode sharper conflict with Russia in Ukraine. Hardly a gift.

President Trump’s announcement via Twitter of a military pullout from Syria is best understood as a superficial political move.
The subsequent prompt resignation by his Defense Secretary James Mattis – within hours of Trump’s declared withdrawal – shows the president is deeply at odds with the Pentagon. Military officials say they were blindsided by Trump. Mattis’ resignation, therefore, came as a rebuke.

US Withdrawal from Syria Ineffective in Regional Developments

TEHRAN (FNA)- Washington is not playing a role in developments in Syria, and as a result the US’ possible withdrawal of troops from the Arab country will have no impact on relevant political equations, said a renowned Iranian analyst of the regional developments.

The US is currently having 3,000 troops on ground in Syria, and according to their military system, 1,000 out of them are combat forces and 2,000 others are logistics personnel,” said regional affairs analyst Saadollah Zareyee on Thursday.

His remarks came after some American news outlets relayed earlier that the US President Trump has ordered full withdrawal of Washington’s military from Syria.

Zareyee added that the US is currently having the minimum size of military presence in Syria in comparison with other players on the ground, highlighting that all American troops are stationed in Eastern borders of the Arab country at eight bases with the largest base in the North of Raqqa.

Trump's Syria Withdrawal Order Came as Reaction to Admin Hawks Demanding Forever War

This time it's real. It isn't entirely impossible Trump will reverse himself later on yet again, or qualify the withdrawal in some other way, but for now it is clear that he has indeed given the order to Pentagon to get all its forces out of Syria. This has always been his instinct and inclination, but until now the Empire-first hawks he has surrounded himself with always in the end convinced him to keep the soldiers there after all:

“We know Trump’s instincts from the get-go were to get these guys out of Syria,” Tamara Wittes, a former State Department Middle East official now with the Brookings Institution, told Al-Monitor. “And yet, he has clearly been persuaded at several points 'not yet, ISIS is not quite defeated, but we can use [the troop presence] as leverage against Iran.' Washington Finally Acknowledges Defeat In Syria

In a succinct tweet on Wednesday, Donald Trump has announced a momentous policy decision that the Trump administration will soon be pulling out the US troops from Syria and Iraq. Although the current redeployment of American troops will only be limited to northern Syria to appease the US-ally Turkey where it has been a longstanding demand of President Erdogan that Turkey will not tolerate the presence of the US-backed Kurdish forces west of Euphrates River, it can be expected in the coming months that Washington will withdraw American forces from eastern Syria and Iraq as well.

President Trump said in the tweet, “We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency.” Thus, Washington has finally acknowledged its humiliating defeat in a country it never formally invaded, but where it waged a devastating proxy war for the last seven years that gave birth to myriads of militant groups, including the Islamic State.

Russian FM: US Troops Withdrawal Enables Outlook for Syria Political Settlement

The decision of the United States to withdraw its troops from Syria creates a real possibility for a political settlement in the crisis-torn Arab Republic, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

"A very important story that can follow this decision is a real prospect for a political settlement," Zakharova said.

She recalled that US troops had been present in Syria illegally, without a corresponding invitation from the government of the republic and without any resolutions of the UN Security Council.

‘Russia wins’: Fury in Washington as Trump announces withdrawal from Syria

President Donald Trump’s decision to declare ISIS defeated and order a full US withdrawal from Syria has been met with anger and disbelief by the Washington establishment that hoped for regime change in Damascus.
Trump declared victory over Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) on Wednesday morning, as media reported that some 2,000 or so US troops will leave Syria within 60 to 100 days. Though Trump had openly spoken about wanting to leave Syria back in March, senior officials in his administration have said that US forces would stay there indefinitely.

Klein: U.S. Withdrawal from Syria Would Be Victory for Iran, Russia and Turkey

President Donald Trump’s reported decision to withdraw U.S. forces from Syria could negatively impact the campaign to rid the country of Iranian influence while telegraphing a message of abandonment to our Kurdish allies as Russia solidifies control in Syria.

Numerous news media reports on Wednesday cited anonymous sources stating that Trump decided to remove the U.S. forces, although it was not immediately clear whether that meant all 2,000 U.S. troops stationed in Syria, most of whom have been advising and training local militias fighting the Islamic State.

“Full withdrawal, all means all,” one U.S. official told AFP when asked if U.S. forces would completely vacate the country.

The New York Times reported on a full withdrawal phased out over a period of several weeks, while the U.S air campaign against IS would continue.

Berlin Slams Withdrawal of US Troops From Syria, Paris Stays to Fight Daesh

US President Donald Trump recently announced in a Twitter statement that the Daesh* terrorist group has been defeated in Syria, adding that this was the only reason for the United States to be in the Middle Eastern country during his presidency.

"Daesh is weaker than ever. Daesh has gone into hiding and insurgency in its manner of fighting. Daesh has lost more than 90% of its territory. Daesh has no more logistics as it could have had. But Daesh is not removed from the map, nor its roots, it is necessary to definitively defeat militarily the last pockets of this terrorist organization", French Minister for the Armed Forces Florence Parly said on Twitter.

Trump's decision to withdraw US troops from Syria could hurt fight against the Daesh terror group in the country, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas stated.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he concurred with his US counterpart Donald Trump that the terrorist group, the Islamic State (outlawed in Russia) had been defeated in Syria on the whole.

Israel Complaining Can't Hit Syria Targets Because They're Flying Russian Flags -- Report

Moscow is allowing fighters from Hezbollah and other pro-Iranian Shiite groups operating in Syria to carry Russian flags in order to protect them from Israeli airstrikes, Russia's Kommersant newspaper reported Wednesday.

The report follows a Russian snub earlier this week to Israeli military officials, as Moscow appears reluctant to ease its anger over the loss of one of its planes during an IAF bombing raid in Syria in September. The plane was brought down by Syrian missiles targeting the Israelis, but Moscow insists that Jerusalem did not provide sufficient warning of its strike to allow its aircraft to reach safety.

On December 19, President Donald Trump once again used Twitter to announce that the US had defeated ISIS and that the US would be withdrawing its troops from Syria.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed that the US has started returning troops home and transiting to “the next phase of this campaign”. She recalled that “the United States and our allies stand ready to re-engage at all levels to defend American interests whenever necessary, and we will continue to work together to deny radical Islamist terrorists’ territory, funding, support and many means of infiltrating our borders”.

No further details were provided officially. According to media reports, State Department personnel were set to be evacuated from Syria within 24 hours. The alleged timeframe for troops pull-out, there are at least 2,000 US service members, is 60-100 days.

US Forced to Withdraw from Syria after Failure in Plots

Secretary of the Syrian Parliament Khaled al-Abboud underlined that Washington has lost all its instruments to pressure Damascus, adding that failure of the US plots forced the country to leave Syria.

Abboud was quoted as saying by the Arabic-language service of Sputnik news agency on Thursday that the US decision to retreat from Syria was the result of its major defeat in the region, specially in plots against Damascus.

He added that Syria is the key to regional stability, noting that the US has lost all instruments used against Damascus.

Abboud said that Washington had no other option but to declare withdrawal from Syria after loosing all its keys and tools to attain goals.

Trump’s Syria Pullout Fuels Backlash Across DC

President Trump’s announcement of an immediate withdrawal of US forces from Syria seems to have taken a lot of people by surprise. Such big news is fueling both a predictable backlash from hawks, and angry criticism from political rivals who are portraying the announcement as a reckless shift from the open-ended military engagement everyone was expecting.

Trump presented the move as a natural response to he defeat of ISIS, which is leading a lot of hawks to deny that ISIS is really defeated. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) compared this to the 2011 withdrawal from Iraq, and said Congress must make Trump explain the policy.

Still, since the war has been spun as being sort of about Iran, analysts are still predicting anger among Iran hawks, both in the cabinet and in the party leadership. Charles Lister from the Middle East Institute said it might plant the seeds for rebellion among Republicans to not be in the war.

US to Withdraw From Syria-Turkey Border Outposts to Buy Time for Pullout

Having just built multiple observation posts in Syria, along the Turkey border, US officials say the military is going to quickly withdraw from them, as part of an effort to buy some time with Turkey as they complete a full US pullout from Syria.

The observation posts were presented by the Pentagon as a confidence-builder for Turkey, to give them warning if any Kurdish forces got too close to the border. Turkey’s President Erdogan was deeply critical of the move, saying the US was really observing the Turkish military to prevent them attacking the Kurds.

Ironically, ditching the posts is intended to prevent the exact same thing, with hopes that this will please Erdogan, and that the US will be able to keep Erdogan talking, and not invading, for awhile. At least long enough to get the US troops out of Syria.

'Triumph for Erdogan' as US announces Syria pull-out

Trump's claim that ISIL has been defeated contradicted his own experts' assessments and shocked his Middle East allies.
The departure of 2,000 US troops from Syria, where the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have acted as the United States' boots on the ground in the war on Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS), will give Ankara greater scope to drive the Kurdish fighters away from its border.

Two days before the statement, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his US counterpart had responded positively to a his plan to invade the area of northeast Syria controlled by the SDF.

"There is little doubt that [Erdogan] welcomes it as a major diplomatic gain which clears the way for a third Turkish military advance into northern Syria," said Bulent Aliriza, director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies' Turkey Project in Washington.

Turkey may launch a new military operation in northern Syria at any moment, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, adding US President Donald Trump had given a positive response to Turkey's plans.

Erdogan's remarks on Monday came days after he announced Turkish forces would launch a new cross-border operation against the US-backed Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) to the east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria.

The YPG is considered a terrorist organisation by Ankara. American troops are also located to the east of the Euphrates River.

Putin Welcomes U.S.’s Syria Exit

Having Gained Critical Foothold in Mideast, Putin Welcomes U.S.’s Syria Exit
In a wide-ranging press conference, Mr. Putin also blamed the U.S. for triggering a new arms race and raising the threat of a nuclear war, slamming Washington for abandoning Cold War-era missile treaties even as he boasted of Moscow’s ambitious plans to develop new weapons.

Mr. Putin’s hourslong exchange with over a thousand journalists capped a tense year in which Russia came under tightening Western sanctions, forged deeper ties with China and has struggled to revive its middling economy.
“If the U.S. wants to withdraw its contingent, that would be correct,” he said, adding that their presence in the country was “illegitimate” because Washington’s presence wasn’t authorized by the United Nations or Mr. Assad.

Syria Militants Create Hotbeds of Terror in Africa - Russian Security Council

Some militant groups, after their defeat in Syria and Iraq, have been relocating to Africa, where they create large enclaves of the Daesh terrorist group, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, Alexander Venediktov, the Russian Security Council secretary's assistant, told Sputnik.

"Let's take the problem of terrorism, which today is acute for African countries. After the defeat in Syria and Iraq, some militants have been on their way to the Sahel and further southward. As a result, bandit enclaves under the banners of ISIS [Daesh], al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, which has pledged allegiance to IS [Daesh] militants, are emerging on the vast territories," Venediktov said.

Trump Ends Covert Aid to Syrian Rebels Trying to Topple Assad

Behind the Sudden Death of a $1 Billion Secret C.I.A. War in Syria

OK, let's see how this plays out in Africa. And I have done these analyses for far too long, to believe in the "long arm of coincidence" here.

Russia, Iran, and Syria have been pretty much successful in getting rid of the Jihadis, so what do we hear today from the Trump administration ?!?

Trump administration plans to pull U.S. troops out of Syria immediately, officials say

Now, what other countries would the US government like to regime change? The answer is, many African countries, with resources the US government wants to control, and only have sold in US dollars.

And right on time, BOOM!! Here come those same US trained/funded/armed jihadis who got kicked out of Syria, working to undermine and destabilize many African countries, just as they had attempted to undermine and destabilize Syria.

Folks, the arrival of these jihadis in Africa is utterly no accident or coincidence.

They have arrived precisely on time, to do what they attempted in Syria, but got driven out successfully by the Syrian, Russian, and Iranian military.

Perhaps the group-think in DC, is that the African nations they wish to destabilize won't be anywhere near as lucky in calling in outside resources, such as those of Russia, or Iran.

But in light of the fact that China is doing a lot of deals in Africa China in Africa; Win/Win or a new colonialism? , one has to wonder if we will be seeing the Chinese military assisting governments getting rid of the jihadis to protect their investments.

Sudanese President Arrives in Syria Aboard Russian Plane as Mailman of the Saudis

The Arab world (in the past largely pro-Soviet and staunchly independent, these days subservient to the West and on the payroll of the Saudis) is getting ready to normalize relations with previously ostracized Assad. Russia is facilitating. Sudanese President Omar el-Bashir made a historical visit to Syria, the first for an Arab leader since war was imposed on Syria in 2011. El-Bashir landed onboard a Russian airplane at Damascus airport, an indication of Moscow’s efforts to bring Syria back into the Arab – and international – fold. During seven years of war, Sudan never closed its embassy in Damascus. El-Bashir was not travelling alone. Sudan would not take such a huge step without the support of its allies. The Sudanese president is a close partner of Saudi Arabia and the Emirates in their destructive war on Yemen. The purpose of his visit is to lay down the road to Damascus for more Arab leaders, who are expected to pay tribute to president Bashar al-Assad in 2019.

Flores: Is The U.S Really ‘Withdrawing’ From Syria? Here’s Why Not

The White House predictably announced a new phase of the military campaign in Syria and the withdrawal of troops from the country. This was unceremoniously announced by the press secretary of the White House, Sarah Sanders on Wednesday, December 19th. Sanders noted that five years ago, ISIS was a very powerful and dangerous force in the Middle East, but the United States managed to destroy their territorial caliphate. The representative of the White House added that the victory of the international coalition of countries led by the United States over ISIS in Syria does not mean the end of the coalition or its campaign. “The United States and our allies stand together to re-engage in the defense of American interests at all levels if necessary, and we will continue to work together to prevent the spread of radical Islamism, its sponsorship, support in any form or its penetration beyond our borders”, read the statement of the press secretary, Sanders.

U.S. Military Preparing for a Full Withdrawal of Its Forces From Syria

The U.S. military is preparing to withdraw its forces from Syria, people familiar with the matter said Wednesday, a move that marks an abrupt reversal of the American military strategy in the Middle East.

U.S. officials began informing partners in northeastern Syria of their plans to begin an immediate pullout of American forces from the region where they have been trying to wrap up the campaign against Islamic State, the people said.

“The Pentagon has an order to move troops out of Syria as quickly as possible, “ a U.S. official said.

The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the move. But Mr. Trumpwrote on Twitter Wednesday morning that “We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency.”

Dec 19 08:57

While the United States continues to deny providing support to terrorists in Syria in terms of money, training, or weapons without the “rebels” first being “moderate,” the truth is that it has been proven time and time again that the US did indeed arm jihadists in Syria from the very beginning and even before the alleged “protests” began in 2011.

Even taking the admitted 2013 arming of terrorists out of the equation – the infamous initiative that took place after the Obama administration cooked up an accusation that the Syrian government used “chemical weapons” on civilians in Ghouta that year – the evidence is clear that the United States had been arming fighters before that time. This is clearly seen when anyone follows the trail of weapons that found their way into Syria early on.

A former servicemen of the Russian Airborne Troops, Aleksandr Dudchenko, has been killed by a mortar shelling in northern Latakia, according to reports in Russian media outlets.

The incident reportedly took place near the town of Kinsaba, where Dudchenko came under fire from the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL). Local sources say that he was among Russian private military contractors that operate in the country.

During the past few weeks, the NFL, other pro-Turkish militant groups as well as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) and its allies violated the ceasefire regime in the Idlib de-escalation zone multiple times. On some parts of the contact line, such as northern Hama, they even carried out limited ground attacks, which were repelled.

Russia to build shipyard in Syria’s Tartus

Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Timur Ivanov said the Russian ministries of defence, industry and trade are working on a project to build a shipyard in the Syrian port of Tartus.

“We have a joint project to build a shipyard in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Tartus, for the maintenance of vessels of different categories,” Ivanov said in an interview with Russian Kommersant newspaper.

The agreement to expand and modernise Russia’s naval facility in the Syrian port gives full immunity to Russian military personnel and their families, allowing Russia to deploy up to 11 warships at one time. Tartus is Russia’s only base in the Mediterranean Sea.

Russia has supported the regime of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad providing ground and air forces to regain control of areas his forces had lost.
