Target… Iran!? 74,000 U.S. Troops in the Middle East

Now enter the strange coincidence of renewed unrest in Iraq – mainly from Sadr City, where the surprising turn of the US screw was the turning of Muqtada al-Sadr for Saudi, the United States CIA, and for Israel in Iraq.

The split seems to have occurred since 2009 when the Mahdi army was militarily defeated in Iraq. Armed militias such as Asaib Ahl al-Haq, instrumental in defeating ISIS in Anbar, and aligned with Iran, openly fought Sadr’s men at times. The result was that al Sadr was forcibly set adrift by Iran and it appears Sadr chose to preserve his own hide rather than preserve his honor. According to an expert in impressive tradecraft, Sadr was “for rent”.

Preparing the Stage: A Flawed Prospectus for War, This Time With Iran

“This is a historic opportunity”, whispered one of Netanyahu’s insiders into Ben Caspit (a leading Israeli journalist)’s ear this week: “You have no idea what we can wheedle from the Americans now, what a golden opportunity we face when the US is about to enter an election year”.

“Bunker busters”, he mutters to Caspit, who elaborates that: “According to members of Netanyahu’s inner circle, these bombs will be given to Israel once it signs the mutual defence agreement that Netanyahu has been working on.”

Defense firm faked documents to bilk US government of $1.2 billion – lawsuit

A defense contractor overcharged the Pentagon by more than $1.2 billion for thousands of armored vehicles, a whistleblower’s complaint alleges. The company also threatened employees who refused to go along with the grift.
With Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks responsible for more than six in ten deaths of US personnel in Iraq and four in ten deaths in Afghanistan in 2007, the Pentagon solicited designs for a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle to replace its thin-skinned Humvees. The military hoped the vehicles’ thickened armor and explosion-deflecting v-shaped hulls would save lives on the battlefield.

Nearly 1 Million Vets Face Food Stamps Cut

About 900,000 veterans and 5,000 active duty troops face cuts in their food stamp benefits beginning Thursday as $5 billion is automatically trimmed from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program for low-income families.

"The coming benefit cut will reduce SNAP benefits, which are already modest, for all households by 7 percent on average, or about $10 per person per month," according to an analysis by the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities.

On Pearl Harbor Anniversary, Just 3 Survivors of USS Arizona Remain

Today we take a look at the last three survivors of the USS Arizona, which was sunk on Dec. 7, 1941.

In September, Lauren Bruner, the next-to-last sailor to escape the sinking USS Arizona on Dec. 7, 1941, died in Los Angeles at age 98. His death leaves just three of the 337 men who survived the attack on the battleship.

Bruner was 21 when the attack occurred. He took a machine gun bullet to the leg and was badly burned.

NETANYAHU’S PERSONAL LAWYER TO BE CHARGED WITH MONEY LAUNDERING

SOURCE: INDEPENDENT UK
Israel’s state prosecutor has plans to indict prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cousin and personal lawyer, alongside six other people, on charges related to a possible conflict of interest over a $2bn purchase of German submarines.

Shai Nitzan said in a statement on Thursday the seven would be charged on various corruption offences, including money laundering, bribery and fraud – pending a hearing.

Among them is Mr Netanyahu’s attorney, David Shimron, who represented the German firm involved and was suspected of using his influence over the prime minister in return for a hefty cut of the deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color an already geopolitically wounded and dangerous Prime Minister, even more so, with these accusations levelled against his attorney.

And please remember; just last Wednesday, Secretary of State Pompeo and Netanyahu met, to push forward with a new US/Israeli Defense pact, Netanyahu, Pompeo Push Forward With US-Israel Defense Pact; Netanyahu argues he should stay in power because of deal

The article goes on to state: "Netanyahu looks to be steering heavily into this US lifeline, arguing that the deal proves he needs to stay in power, and that in the event of a rotation government with Gantz, he’d have to be first because of his “unique” ties with the US.

Details of the pact aren’t clear, beyond it committing the US to war to defend Israel. Those familiar with it have said the pact would in no way restrict Israel’s ability to unilaterally attack targets across the region, meaning constant Israeli attacks on targets in Syria and Iraq could continue."

Congress' last day in session this year is (ironically enough) this coming Friday, 13 December; I am very concerned, because of the enormous geopolitical strain Netanyahu is experiencing, both with being unable to create a government at home, coupled with his legal woes, will push him to push every AIPAC member in Congress to support this bill, either as a fast-track bit of legislation, or as a rider to a "must pass" piece of legislation, which has to have Congress' approval by the 13th.

There is a legal precedent for this in the Patriot Act, which was the rider, inserted into the bill at the last minute, which held pharmaceutical companies and indemnified them against any harm their products could cause.

The following article sheds a bit of light as to the nature of this rider, and why it managed to get written into the Homeland Security Act: The Homeland Security Act and the Mystery of the Eli Lilly Rider

But if a rider with the potential capability to create harm nationally, by allowing the continuing use of Thimerosal in vaccines, was allowed to be placed into a National Piece of legislation, just imagine how horrific a rider "committing the US to war to defend Israel" could be to our country.
'
I am going to be watching this like a hawk, this next week, hoping and praying that this neither gets through Congress, nor that President Trump empowers this pact through an executive order.

Pearl Harbor Revisited: Dispelling Surprise Attack Mythology

“I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.”

Around one hour after Roosevelt’s December 8 address before a joint congressional session, the body declared war on Japan with one dissenting vote, signed into law by FDR the same day.

All wars are unjustifiably justified based on Big Lies and deception, WW II no exception. Roosevelt wanted involvement in Europe’s war. He wanted legislation requiring US neutrality reversed.

After the Japanese code was broken, intercepted cables confirmed an attack was coming. The US tracked its fleet from the Kurile Islands to its North Pacific refueling point en route to Pearl Harbor on or about December 7.

At a December 5 cabinet meeting, Navy Secretary Frank Knox said: “Well, you know Mr. President, we know where the Japanese fleet is?”

Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s aide, Brigadier Gen. After the success of this first attack, LeMay was determined to continue, stating his intention to have Tokyo entirely “burned down – wiped right off the map”, and proceeded to carry out his homicidal determination with repeated fire-bombings covering an increasingly greater area of Japan.

The Pentagon’s 36 Military Bases in Africa. America’s Growing Military Presence

On the international scene condemnation of Gaddafi’s murder was a rare thing, and came from those such as Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez – with the Cuban leader noting that his killing was something “which violates the most elementary principles of Islamic rules” while Chavez denounced it as “another outrage”.

NATO chiefs were satisfied, however, as it removed an obstacle to US control over Libya’s oil sources, a country which also has an extensive coastline along the Mediterranean Sea. One of the primary tasks of NATO is to safeguard access to raw materials and strategic localities. In June 2007 NATO’s then Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, said to a gathering of members in Brussels that “NATO troops have to guard pipelines that transport oil and gas that is directed to the West”. Another of NATO’s functions is “to protect sea routes used by tankers and other ‘crucial infrastructure’ of the energy system”.

How to Commit War Crimes—and Get Away With It

How to Commit War Crimes—and Get Away With It
FacebookTwitterPinterestRedditShare
How to Commit War CrimesU.S. President Donald Trump sacked his Navy secretary on Twitter. The main reason is that the Navy secretary did not follow Trump’s advice regarding Navy Special Warfare Operator Edward Gallagher. Trump wanted Gallagher to retain his position as a Navy Seal. Gallagher was accused of stabbing to death a wounded fighter of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) in 2017; he was also accused of other incidents of murder (of a schoolgirl and an elderly man), and then of obstruction of justice. In July 2019, a military court acquitted Gallagher of most of the charges but found him guilty of posing with the body of the fighter who had been stabbed to death.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Chain of Command, is absolutely critical to the emotional health and well-being of the soldiers working under it; I really believe that President Trump overstepped his boundaries in creating the situation he did, then firing the Secretary of the Navy.

US House Votes Against Israeli Annexation of West Bank

The resolution was intended both to contradict President Trump, whose recent positions have been pro-occupation and pro-annexation, as well as to potentially warn Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against any hasty annexations, something he’s been advocating recently.

The bill was hardly perfect, which meant a lot of the voting on the margins defied conventional wisdom. Some traditional critics of Israel voted against the bill over language, and still others rejected the bill because it proscribed a US-imposed solution.

The “gang of four” stood as four Democrats opposing the resolution, and did so because the bill’s final version removed any mention of settlements, of Israel being an occupying power, and watered down language about the two-state solution at the behest of more centrist Democrats.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is really worrying me about Israel right now, is a new draft proposal, conjured up by Netanyahu and Pompeo, which I am certain, Pompeo is going to present, hurriedly to Congress, and push it through to get it passed, before their last day of this session (and I find this ironically amusing), which is Friday the 13th.

This bill Proposed US/Israeli Defense Treaty Gaining Steam after Pompeo/Neetanyahu MeetThe article goes on to state:

"A proposed US-Israeli defense treaty is gaining steam after a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (currently representing an 'interim' government) and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Lisbon this week.

Speaking of the controversial defense pact, Netanyahu told reporters of the Wednesday discussion: “The meeting with Pompeo was critical for Israeli security,” and added, “We agreed to promote a defense pact.”

However, such a controversial pact wold have a long way to go in the domestic politics of both nations, considering it would commit the United States to war to defend Israel. This also at a time when Israel has frequently attacked what it deems 'Iranian targets' inside Syria and Iraq in what both countries have condemned as acts of brazen aggression."

I have a deep concern that such an act may well get placed as a rider, or amendment, to a larger, "gotta pass this one" bill", and become law, before it has a chance to be seen for what it is, in the cold, cruel light of morning; a commitment to defend Israel, no matter what it has done, and no matter how wrong it was in doing so, and which may give Netanyahu another chance to "ride herd" on the Israeli government as Prime Minister, even with those corruption charges hanging over his head.

Israeli Officials Warn Annexation May Lead Jordan to Take Drastic Steps

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is keen to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, on the grounds that the US is going to let him do so. Israeli officials, particularly military officials, are warning against one of the primary targets, the Jordan Valley.

The Jordan Valley, which connects the West Bank to Jordan, is something the Israeli right has long wanted to annex, as it would mean the rest of the Palestinian West Bank would never have a border with any nation other than Israel.

Military officials are warning that the big problem would be with Jordan itself, and that this move would further damage Israel-Jordan ties, and might force the Jordanian government to take drastic steps.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This may well be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back; the Jordanian government must really be concerned right now, and I don't blame them one whit.

This would be a complete game-changer for the Palestinians, and definitely not a good one, either.

Netanyahu, Pompeo Push Forward With US-Israel Defense Pact: Netanyahu argues he should stay in power because of deal

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met for an hour and 45 minutes on the specifics of a proposed US-Israel defense pact. The pact amounts to a more or less direct US intervention in Israeli politics, after two elections failed to end with a government formed.

The Trump Administration had made no bones about preferring Netanyahu over his primary political rival Benny Gantz, and the pact seems to be pandering to that fact, since Gantz is opposed to the deal.

Netanyahu looks to be steering heavily into this US lifeline, arguing that the deal proves he needs to stay in power, and that in the event of a rotation government with Gantz, he’d have to be first because of his “unique” ties with the US.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Are you flipping kidding me?!?

And does Congress have to approve this in-the-works pact, or is it simply signed by President Trump, as an Executive Order?

Because if it is "President To President" and there is no Congressional oversight and approval to even begin to study its implications for the US's defense of Israel, this means that Israel can demand that US fight its wars for it in perpetuam, perpetually, beginning with a war against Iran.

West Ramp Up Anti-Iran Propaganda

US and Western European officials are continuing a strategy of making dubious allegations against Iran in an effort to try to justify continued military hostility, which is expected to involve a large US military buildup in the region.

In Europe, this is centering on claims about Iran’s conventional missile systems, arguing that they are in violation of a UN ban on nuclear-capable missiles even though Iran doesn’t have any nuclear warheads. Iran has pointed out this is a lie, saying they have a right to missile systems under international law.

This allegation, pushed by Britain, France, and Germany, is likely to be a red herring that will be used in upcoming talks with Iran about their civilian nuclear program to distract from relatively straightforward matters of sanctions relief and enrichment limits.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Demonization is generally the last act before an actual invasion; that being said, however, there are many more millions in this country, and beyond, who now understand, in hindsight, and without a shadow of a doubt, that this was the same kind of codswallop we were getting, courtesy of the corporate media, before the invasions and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sorry, President Trump; no deal here at all.

Pentagon ‘Denies’ Plans to Send 14,000 More Troops to Area Around Iran

The denial isn’t necessarily particularly binding, since the consideration would’ve been at the White House level, not the Pentagon level. The Pentagon has often made policy proclamations that don’t pan out when the administration makes decisions.

In all likelihood, a series of options are being considered, with all reports pointing to the US again escalating its presence. Sending another 14,000 troops is likely on the extreme end of possibilities, but there appears to be no denying that another buildup is in the offing.

The Navy is already talking about the possibility of sending a second aircraft carrier to the region, if so ordered, with Admiral Mike Gilday saying the US could “absolutely” do this as part of the maximum pressure campaign on Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would sincerely like to hope (and pray) that those in the Bowels of Power in DC; the Pentagon; the White House; and Congress, do remember that the following statement was made by a Russian official to an Iranian Official back in June of this last year. As reported by the Moscow Times, English Edition, on 26 June of 2019:

IRAN WON'T BE ALONE IF THE US ATTACKS- RUSSIAN OFFICIAL SAYS

We all know that "plausible deniability" is a religion for members of this country's leadership; but war with Russia, in order to decap Tehran?!?

I would like to hope that reasonably sane people would not consider this a great idea; in fact, this would be one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly things the US government and military could do; that being said, unfortunately, there is absolutely no guarantee that the US government and military won't haul off and do it.

The ‘Burn Pit’ Is The New Agent Orange Of Our Era

It’s a headline that should, by all appearances, be considered “good news.” But somehow the November 18 declaration, “VA announces plans to study military toxic exposures, connections to veteran illnesses,” just comes off as an Onion-esque parody.

That’s because the Veterans Affairs Department has been vowing to “study” the effects of the ubiquitous “burn pits” on soldiers for more than a decade—so has the Pentagon. In fact, there have been tons of studies already, big and small, in both the public and private sectors. But like everything in Washington, launching one more study or task force allows the bureaucracy to stall real action—in this case, practical help for thousands of men and women who say they’re suffering from war-related illnesses.

US Releases Photos of Seized 'Significant Cache' of Iran Missile Parts Headed to Yemen

The US government announced on Thursday that it had intercepted a weapons stash which it alleges was destined for Houthi militants and delivered by Iran. This comes as the Trump administration steps up its pressure on the Iranian government.

The US government on Thursday released photos of missile parts which military officials claim to be of Iranian origin and allegedly meant to be delivered to Yemen.

Brian Hook, the US Special Representative for Iran and a senior adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, displayed the photos during an official briefing on Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that this is the closest thing the US government can "wave at the world" regarding Iran, in lieu of an actual bloody shirt; and Secretary of State Pompeo, please let me politely disabuse you of any notion that the American people, or anyone else, for that matter, is "buying in"on this.

The butt-ugly reality, Mr. Secretary, is that fake weapons can be created anywhere, then put on display "for show", with the public told that they were "confiscated".

Stalingrad at 75, the Turning Point of World War II in Europe

This month, three quarters of a century ago, the most famous battle of the Second World War began. More Soviet soldiers died in the five-month battle than Americans in the entire war. LeMay said, “If we’d lost the war, we’d all have been prosecuted as war criminals.” And I think he’s right. He, and I’d say I, were behaving as war criminals. LeMay recognized that what he was doing would be thought immoral if his side had lost. But what makes it immoral if you lose and not immoral if you win?

“There are no innocent civilians. It is their government and you are fighting a people, you are not trying to fight an armed force anymore. So it doesn’t bother me so much to be killing the so-called innocent bystanders.”

“Killing Japanese didn’t bother me very much at that time… I suppose if I had lost the war, I would have been tried as a war criminal…. Every soldier thinks something of the moral aspects of what he is doing. But all war is immoral and if you let that bother you, you’re not a good soldier. ”

Who Beat Hitler? USA, Britain, Or Russia

If the defeat of the German army was the central strategic task, the main one was the conflict on the eastern front. The German army was first weakened and then driven back, before the main weight of Allied ground and air forces was brought to bear in 1944. Over four hundred German and Soviet divisions fought along more than 1,000 miles. Axis divisions between 1941 and 1945. The scale and geographical extent of the eastern front dwarfed all earlier warfare. Losses on both sides far exceeded anywhere else in the military contest. The war in the east was fought with a ferocity almost unknown on the western fronts. The battles at Stalingrad and Kursk, which broke the back of the German army, drew from the soldiers of both sides the last ounces of physical and moral energy.

Congo: Millions Die While the “UN Keeps the Peace”

With 18,000 troops, the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Congo is the largest in the world, and it has been in Congo for 20 years without protecting the people or the peace. A young protester in Beni told Aljazeera, “The UN is supposed to keep us safe, to keep peace in North Kivu, but we’ve never seen the peace. So we are so angry we don’t want them to stay here in North Kivu.”

Congolese Swiss historian Bénédicte Kumbi Njoko also spoke to Aljazeera:

“If we think about the UN and its presence, we need to go back to almost 59 years that the UN has been working in the Congo because there were problems in the country. And I think that if we take that into perspective, we can of course question the utility of this organization, because what we have seen the last 20 years now is that people are still dying and this war that is happening in the Congo has caused already more than 8 million deaths, so maybe the response that the UN is giving to that situation is not an appropriate one.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

It's about the resources, folks, and who controls them. A little more than a year ago, we find the following story in zerohedge.com:

Hot economic warfare: scrambling for rare earth minerals

The article goes on to state: "In countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo, columbite-tantalite, a mineral used in the manufacture of semi-conductor chips, is such a hot commodity that rival warlords, some acting on behalf of outside players, including Rwanda, Uganda, Israel, Japan, China, and the United States battle one another for control of the mineral’s extraction and export.

The Rwanda Mines, Petroleum, and Gas Board signed a deal in 2017 with a major Japanese rare earth extraction firm for the exploration and mining of rare earths, as well as tungsten, in Rwanda. However, Rwandan President Paul Kagame is known to have backed fellow Tutsi rebels in the DRC, who exploit rare earth mines in South and North Kivu provinces and send the stolen minerals to Rwanda. There have been attempts to curtail the trade in “conflict minerals” in the Great Lakes region of Africa, but they have all come to no avail."

And so, UN soldiers do what they do best; they simply allow the violence to continue, not wanting to get in the middle of these wars for 21st century riches.

NATO Names China As New Enemy, Alongside Russia

Authored by Jason Ditz via AntiWar.com,

The 1949 NATO Treaty never attempted to single out a specific enemy for the alliance to fight against, and while it was clear at the time the Soviet Union was the focus, the lack of specificity has meant numerous attempts in recent history to add enemies, or make up new things for the alliance to do.

During this week’s NATO meeting, they are going to officially add a new nation to the list of “challenges,” in the form of China, with NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg saying NATO has to “tackle the issue” of China’s growing capabilities.

China is a major military and economic power, though not hostile to any NATO member nations. That China is a Pacific nation makes them a strange enemy for an alliance supposedly focused on the north Atlantic to single out.

NATO, however, is at a crossroads trying to figure out its identity and purpose, and China’s sheer size makes it an attractive target to justify NATO’s continued existence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh). President Trump, a word, please.

This is what a geopolitical body does when its member nations understand that they are incapable of competing with a growing economic, military, and political power, as Russia and China have become.

So what does that entity try to do?!?

First, that entity will play the geopolitical equivalent of "Wreck-it Ralph" using the same old, warn scenario; attempt to destabilize the government, and usher in a (western backed and funded) "color revolution"; get the offending governmental officials out of office, and insert a more western centric leadership in its place.

But what if such a move is unlikely to take place?!? Then, there comes the deranged move to start thinking the unthinkable; to use nuclear weapons to create a decap strike against the "offensive country or countries", shattering them into smithereens.

Paul Craig Roberts, a brother blogger with an incredible professional history, whose work I respect greatly, has shared the following with the public; this comes from a post from 2017; just two years ago.

Washington Plans to Nuke Russia and China The article goes on to state:

"Not everyone likes to hear about the threat of nuclear war. Some find refuge in denial and say that nuclear war is impossible because it makes no sense. Unfortunately, humankind has a long record of doing things that make no sense.

It is extremely dangerous to all of mankind for Washington to convince two nuclear powers that Washington is preparing a preemptive nuclear strike against them. It is impossible to imagine a more reckless and irresponsible act. Yet this is precisely what Washington has done."

I would like to hope that this is not the direction into which the US government is trying to push NATO.

An article in Google tells us the following about NATO and its access to nuclear arms:

"Of the three nuclear powers in NATO (France, the United Kingdom and the United States), only the United States is known to have provided weapons for nuclear sharing. As of November 2009, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey are hosting U.S. nuclear weapons as part of NATO's nuclear sharing policy."

And I would dearly hope (and pray) that the leadership of these NATO member nations understand, that attempting to create a nuclear Armageddon against China, and/or Russia, will most probably have the consequence of the destruction of life on this planet as we know it, including the complete obliteration of those countries with which the US is willing to "share" nuclear weapons.

Some years ago, a 20-year-old female Marine, a military police officer, was working at a guard shack screening service members and civilians before they entered the base. As a lance corporal, she was new to the job and the duty station, her first in the Marine Corps.

At some point during her shift, a male sergeant on duty drove up. Get in the car, he said, the platoon sergeant needs to see you. She opened the door and got in, believing she was headed to see the enlisted supervisor of her platoon.

Instead, the sergeant drove her to a dark, wooded area on base. It was deserted, no other Marines were around. "Hey, I want a blowjob," the sergeant told her.

The Only Truly Civilized People are Anti-War

Justification for war has taken many paths. All those paths were tainted and immoral, and all those paths led only to death and destruction. There is never a need for war; there is only a want for war.

A US sailor opens fire at a Pearl Harbor shipyard days before the anniversary of historic attack

A lockdown has been lifted at Pearl Harbor Naval shipyard after a US sailor fatally shot two people and injured another before killing himself Wednesday, an incident for which officials do not yet have a motive.

The shooter's name has not been released, but he has tentatively been identified as an active-duty US sailor assigned to the USS Columbia, a submarine that is in dry dock at the base for standard maintenance work, said Rear Adm. Robert Chadwick, commander of Navy Region Hawaii.
"We are saddened by this incident, & our thoughts & prayers are with the victims & their families," Chadwick said on the verified Twitter account of the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, where the shooting occurred.
One man, who did not give his name, was at his desk Wednesday when he heard the shots from Shipyard Drydock 2, a maintenance area for nuclear submarines.

Trump administration considers 14,000 more troops for Middle East – WSJ

Providing additional information on the fresh tussle between the United States (US) and Iran, after the US navy spotted missile parts linked to Iran, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) came out with the story that says the Trump administration is looking to deploy around 14,000 more troops in the Middle East. The news relies on anonymous US officials.

Key quotes
The Trump administration is considering a significant expansion of the U.S. military footprint in the Middle East, including dozens of more ships, other military hardware and as many as 14,000 additional troops to counter Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Where is President Trump actually going to place these troops?!?

Israel? Saudi Arabia? Bahrain? Iraq? Syria?!?

And would someone please tell me just what the hell Iran has done recently, other than develop a financial system which can allow European countries to do do business with them, other than SWIFT?!?

Or.... Is Bibi Netanyahu just having an officially horrible week, and he has "ordered" one of his BFFs (President Trump) to start something militarily, to "take the pressure off of him", during these corruption trials?!?

This is all speculation, until we can see what the timing of the deployment will be, and how many US military will be dispatched to where President Trump and the Pentagon think they should be, and I would imagine we will probably know later this month.

And we have an ominous, darkly threatening headline from zerohedge, with the following title: US Officials Tout Fresh Intelligence; there is an imminent Attack Threat Against US Troops

The article goes on to state: "As is typical when vague claims of a new 'Iran threat' is on the horizon there's absolutely nothing in terms of specifics or evidence, just anonymous officials and fear inducing headlines (also via the same intel bureaucrats which gave us the Iraq war)".

The American Empire and its Media

Largely unbeknownst to the general public, executives and top journalists of almost all major US news outlets have long been members of the influential Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Established in 1921 as a private, bipartisan organization to “awaken America to its worldwide responsibilities”, the CFR and its close to 5000 elite members for decades have shaped US foreign policy and public discourse about it. As a well-known Council member famously explained, they transformed the American republic into a global empire, albeit a “benevolent” one.

Will Drones Push The Middle East Past The Point Of No Return?

Unmanned aerial systems (UASs) or drones, both armed and unarmed, have altered how states and insurgents conduct warfare in the Middle East. The widespread proliferation of these weapons, combined with the range of capabilities they confer and their potential to alter the logic of escalation between states, may cause significant inter-state conflict to occur.

George Soros and Charles Koch take on the 'endless wars'

George Soros and Charles Koch don't agree on much. But they are linking arms to advance a major foreign policy objective they both share: winding down America's "endless wars."

The leading financier of liberal causes and the billionaire backer of the conservative movement are combining their influence to upend the orthodoxy in Washington that the use of military force must remain a primary instrument of American power around the globe.

AS THE OPCW IS ACCUSED OF FALSE REPORTING U.S. PROPAGANDA JUMPS TO ITS HELP

An international organization published two false reports and got caught in the act. But as the false reports are in the U.S. interests a U.S. sponsored propaganda organization is send out to muddle the issue. As that effort comes under fire the New York Times jumps in to give the cover-up effort some extra help.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) manufactured a pretext for war by suppressing its own scientists’ research:

OPCW emails and documents were leaked and whistleblowers came forward to speak with journalists and international lawyers. Veteran journalist Jonathan Steele, who has spoken with the whistleblowers, wrote an excellent piece on the issues. In the Mail on Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens picked up the issue and moved it forward.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) This is precisely how the Deep State in this country, works; by selective editing, coupled with outright lying, and misappropriations of data, which were supposed to make it appear that the Syrian government had gassed its own people, in order to raise sympathy for a more direct US role in Syria against it, Bellingcat hoisted with its own petard, and lost.

KEEPING UP WITH CHINA: US NAVY ORDERS $22 BILLION WORTH OF SUBMARINES

SOURCE: CNN.COM
The US Navy on Monday awarded its most expensive shipbuilding contract ever, more than $22.2 billion worth of the world's most advanced submarines.

The massive contract for nine nuclear-powered, Virginia class attack submarines comes just months after the head of the US Navy in the Pacific warned of a massive Chinese naval buildup and his trouble in getting enough submarines to counter it.

The deal "marks the US Navy's latest response to China's growing military power and aggressive actions in the Western Pacific," said Carl Schuster, a former director of operations at the US Pacific Command's Joint Intelligence Center.

"The PLAN (Chinese Navy) is getting better and larger so the US Navy has to respond," he said. "It doesn't make China an enemy, but China's actions do bear watching."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here is, the US military seems to have to struggle to at least "keep up" with advances in Chinese weaponry; and the question I have to ask is, why is it that we are not light-years ahead on this issue?!?

The answers to this question are complex, and deserve to be addressed, both by any corporate head of the military/industrial complex, and by the Pentagon itself.

It is a known fact that all military industrial complex companies contribute intensely to both parties, as the Presidential campaign kicks into gear.

But unfortunately, as the old saying goes, familiarity...breeds contempt.

And because the leadership of these war-centric corporations frequently play golf with the President, and are on a first-name basis with him, they feel that it ultimately doesn't matter if the equipment they produce is shoddy; antiquated upon delivery; and have the cost overruns from hell, that the President, and our military, should constantly accept "less than", when it comes to great weaponry design, because, after all, they put our President intol a financial position which made it possible for him to win the election.

That has got to change, and what we need is legislation to prevent any of the military industrial complex to donate one dime to either candidate in the national elections.

Then, there should be a clause written into any contract for any weaponry the military should like to buy, that if the product doesn't deliver, on time, and as advertised upon delivery, then the heads of those corporations need to be charged with a military-application specific intellectual and industrial treason, tried by a jury of their peers, convicted, and serve their sentences in a non-club Fed.

Draconian?!? Hell, yes. But as those of you who occasionally read my posts understand, I abhor war as a way with which to resolve geopolitical differences. That being said, when our military goes to war, it should not be with less than utterly stellar equipment, which the military industrial complex has generally not been able to provide.

But I will almost bet you; the first corporate executive charged and convicted under this category of crime, will be a great "inspiration" for those who will follow them into positions of leadership in this industry.

"Grab Some Red Bull & Code": Israel's Bizarre Appeal For A 'Worldwide Hackathon' To Free Iran

"This is going to sound insane," Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett introduces during a social media message on Iran published Saturday. He explains that Iran blocked internet access after mass anti-government and economic grievance-driven protests spread to some 100 cities over the past weeks.

"Most social media sites in Iran are still banned as we speak," he notes, while also describing a typical young Iranian's frustration at being prevented from logging in. He then calls for a all programmers and techies to unite for a “worldwide hackathon” to free the Iranians from their regime-imposed internet ban.

“So, here is a crazy idea. How about every techie in the world — Israelis, Arabs, Iranians, Americans, Europeans and everyone else unite for one purpose: to help the long-suffering Iranian people gain open access to all social media. A worldwide hackathon for freedom,” Bennet says.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett, a word, please; this not only sounds insane; it is insane.

What if critical hacks interrupt the work of medical devices in hospitals, and people die from this?!? Because if something like this happens negatively, as a result of these hacks, you have already stated that Israel will be the miscreant Middle-Eastern meddler who brought this about.

How much misery do you intend to cause the people of Iran, just because you don't like it's leadership?!?!?

Sir, you have just telegraphed what certain IT people in Israel and beyond may be prepared to do to bring Tehran down; I would like to politely suggest that Iran has some very excellent coders as well, and that such a hack will be ultimately repulsed by some very smart Iranians.

Tehran Wants to Sue US $130bln for Civil Unrest in Iran - Court Authorities

Protests erupted in several of Iran's provinces in November, following the government’s decision to increase the price of gasoline, with some of the rallies turning violent.

Tehran wants to sue the US for $130bln for civil unrest in the country, according to Iranian judicial spokesman Golyamkhosein Esmaily.

Golyamkhosein Esmaily said that the lawsuits and complaints were filed by Iranian citizens who directly suffered damage from "US actions."

"To date, more than 360 cases and claims of citizens against the US government have been considered," Esmaily said, noting that one court had demanded $130 billion from the United States.

Frankly, I would not hold my breath, were I an Iranian solicitor, about collecting on such claims.

North Korea warns US will choose its 'Christmas gift' if Trump fails to meet looming nuclear deadline

The North Korean foreign ministry said on Tuesday that Washington would decide what “Christmas gift” it would receive if the United States fails to change its “hostile policies” on denuclearization before the end of the year, according to the state-run Korean Central News Agency.

North Korea has been ramping up missile tests and other military demonstrations in recent months in an apparent pressure tactic over the talks. Negotiations have faltered since a February summit between Kim Jong-un and Trump in Vietnam which broke down after the U.S. rejected North Korean demands for broad sanctions relief in exchange for a partial surrender of its nuclear capabilities.

Kim later issued his end-of-year deadline and has also said the North would seek a “new path” if the U.S. persists with sanctions and pressure. Working-level talks last month in Sweden broke down over what the North Koreans described as the Americans’ “old stance and attitude.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here is, zero "quid pro quo", which translates as "Let me give a little, then you give a little, toward creating a win/win situation."

But none of that has been displayed by those in the bowels of power in DC, and the never-ending, clanging leitmotif of "Give us everything we want now, and perhaps, MAYBE, down the road, we will do something you would like us to do!!", is what the US government characterizes as "good faith negotiations."

That complete absence of "quid pro quo" in the US's dealings with North Korea, unfortunately, has brought us to this very nasty, and potentially militarily, volatile chapter in US/North Korean relations.

The War against Syria: In the Name of the Father the Son, the Holy Spirit … and the Truth.

So,why is the Truth not known and accepted by broad-based Western populations?

Renowned author Michel Collon demonstrates the characteristics of war propaganda that deny us the right to know.

First, the real interests that push for war must be hidden. Privileged access to and control of resources, including oil pipelines, must not be mentioned.

Second, history must be erased. People musn’t be aware of the longstanding imperial efforts to divide, weaken, and colonize Syria. They must not know that the war on Syria was planned well in advance by imperial powers.

Third, the leader of the country must be demonized. People must never know that elected President Assad has always been popular, even according to a NATO poll,(2) and that the invading terrorists were never accepted nor welcomed by the vast majority of Syrians.

Gorbachev warns of 'hot war' between US, Russia

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev warned in a new interview that tensions between the U.S. and Russia could lead to a “hot war” between the two nations.

Asked whether the tensions threatened to lead to a new era akin to the Cold War, Gorbachev told CNN, “I think this should be avoided.”

"It's good that already all over the world there is a conversation and people are talking, people are reacting, and this is the most important thing,” Gorbachev said.

"Speakers and politicians, people understand that this, the New Cold War, must not be allowed. This might turn out to be a hot war that could mean the destruction of our entire civilization," he added.

"This must not be allowed.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The man is entirely correct in his assessment; a shooting war with Russia would be one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing this government could do.

And unfortunately, the above is utterly no guarantee that it will not do just that.

Pompeo Faults Iran as ‘Common Villain’ in All Mideast Protests

But while it’s fair to say Iran is involved in the Iran protests, if not the way Pompeo presents it, and tangentially involved in Iraq, opposing the protesters, Pompeo’s attempt to tie Iran to the Lebanon protests is plainly untrue.

Lebanon’s protest of the past month has seen protesters faulting the government for its inability to handle economic struggles, and chiefly the government’s inability to reliably provide electricity across the country.

Pompeo said Lebanese protesters “want Hezbollah and Iran out of their country,” which is simply not true. Indeed, the only politician that suffered from the protest movement was Prime Minister Hariri, a long-time political rival of Hezbollah.

In all three countries, the protests have been non-sectarian in nature, and despite Pompeo’s claims to the contrary, none of them have presented their protests are at all about removing the Ayatollahs from power.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pompeo... is truly an interesting critter in the Bowels of Power in DC.

His original nomination to the CIA, then to Secretary of State, demonstrates the degree to which President Trump wants to continue to woo the Religious Right in this country.

Here's some interesting background about the man, which I believe, informs his foreign policy assessments with dread, unending wars, and the eschatology of the Rapture.

Mike Pompeo’s Religion: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

And please be aware that at a rally in 2015, to a community of Wichita’s Summit Church, he made the following statement, concluding his address: "“We will continue to fight these battles,” Pompeo vowed, adding, “it is a never-ending struggle until that moment pastor Fox spoke about, until the Rapture. Be part of it. Be in the fight.”

And here comes a story from Quartz.com, from May of last year:

Trump’s foreign policy looks a lot like Rapture Christians’ plan to welcome the apocalypse

The story goes on to state: "A new ideology in the White House
Belief in the Rapture, also known as millenarianism or eschatology, has multiple variations, but the core view is that there will an apocalyptic war, Jesus will return, and true Christians will be “raptured” or ascend to heaven, with the rest of the earth’s inhabitants punished. Rapture believers are split about the order of events, but they are united in the belief that only Christians will be saved."

President Donald Trump nominated Pompeo as secretary of state in March 2018, with Pompeo succeeding Rex Tillerson after his dismissal. Pompeo was confirmed by the Senate on April 26, 2018, in a 57–42 vote and was sworn in the same day.

So we have now have a guy as Secretary of State who believes that bringing about a massive world war, to hasten the Apocalypse and the Rapture, is a really good thing?!?

So President Trump, a word, please: when religious eschatology drives US foreign policy, which is precisely where US foreign policy appears to be headed right now, and very definitely with regard to the Middle East, it potentially puts this country, and ALL of its citizens, in a world of hurt.

Is this the reason Pompeo is desperately trying to demonize Iran?!? And make no mistake; theocracies make me terribly nervous. But is the answer to blow them to kingdom come, when Russia's diplomat assured Iranian diplomats earlier this year, that Iran will not be alone, if US Attacks, says Russian Official

I would like to politely suggest, that such a war will obliterate nearly all signs of life on earth, with no spiritual "reward" whatsoever, and the next kind-of intelligent "life form", other than humankind" may well have its day, on what is left of this planet.

Do we really want to go there, Mr. President?!?

Parties Hold Talks on a New PM as Protests; Continue Talks began in the lead-up to Abdul-Mahdi's resignation

Last week’s resignation of Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi didn’t take anyone by surprise in Iraq, least of all parliament. Officials say that talks on his replacement had already begun days before he resigned, and are now actively going on in earnest.

Which isn’t to say that finding a new premier is going to be easy. Agreeing on Abdul-Mahdi as a compromise candidate took awhile, and there are even more obstacles in the way of anyone being a long-term success now.

Large protests continue to rage, demanding wholesale reforms. The Shi’ite coalition that controls Iraq’s parliament will need to satisfy them with an appointment, but also satisfy the US and Iran, two nations that traditionally hold massive sway on Iraqi politics.

With the protesters demanding an end to foreign influence, it’s tough to imagine anyone that passes the requirements set by the US and Iran would still be palatable to the protest movement, and if he’s not, he’s probably going to have a very short tenure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious that "business as usual" will not proceed in Iraq until the reasonable demands of its people are satisfied; and that may take a very long time to get sorted, courtesy of the US invasion and occupation.

Russian Defense Ministry denies allegations of air strike on refugee camp in Syria

According to the Russian top brass, the "evidence" is "fake".

Rumors about a Russian air raid on a refugee camp in Syria last August have nothing to do with reality, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Monday.

"To the regret of those who had ordered this fake we have to reiterate that the coordinates of targets and reports of the accomplished missions are never radioed verbally and openly," Konashenkov stated.

He said "absurd accusations by the fake’s authors are based on a video footage of unknown origin showing White Helmets swindlers rushing about in front of the camp’s buildings, images of blue skies where a Russian plane were allegedly seen and fragments of phrases spoken in Russian and attributed to Russian air pilots.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sorry, but the NY Slimes has slouched into a state of simply spewing the US government's propaganda, toward the end of affecting some outcome the US government wants to see happen.

In this case, it is demonizing the Russians in Syria; however, if, in fact "...the coordinates of targets and reports of the accomplished missions are never radioed verbally and openly," Konashenkov stated", then what were these shreds of conversation, in Russian" people claimed to have heard, and why?!?

I would love to have some excellent, independent forensic analysts go over this "information" with a fine tooth comb, to determine what was said, and possibly when it was said; I would be almost willing to bet that what the Russians said happened, actually did happen, and just in the way that they describe.

Palestinians in Gaza bury another young victim of Israel’s brutality

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip held a funeral for 16-year-old Fahd al-Astal, who was shot dead by Israeli snipers on Friday.

During the procession? mourners roamed the streets shouting slogans against the Israeli regime. A mixture of grief and anger was the mood among Gazans over Israel’s killing of a young protester.

Fahd al-Astal was taking part in a peaceful demonstration marking International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in the east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younes. Fahd‘s distraught family says the teenager was an active supporter of the Palestinian cause.

Palestinians organized the Great March of Return to call for the legitimate right of Palestinian refugees to return to the historic land of Palestine, as enshrined in United Nations Resolution 194, and the lifting of the illegal blockade. Their peaceful action was met with excessive and lethal of force by the Israeli regime.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran in Crosshairs: Why Some EU States Opt to Distance Themselves From US Op in Strait of Hormuz

The main reasons why US allies are declining the invitation to join the US-led naval coalition and are choosing to distance themselves from the super-power are because they do not want to be dragged into a military confrontation between Washington and Tehran, some such as Germany prefer diplomacy, while others such as Japan want to preserve economic and political relations with Iran. In France’s case they still hold out hope for saving the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action]," says Sarah Abed, and independent journalist and analyst.
In addition, the Trump administration unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal a year ago leaving Europe's major states, the signatories to the accords, struggling with the consequences of Washington's move.

"A concern that European nations have is that Washington will exploit the IMSC to carry out their sanctions campaign by interfering with legitimate Iranian commercial shipping vessel missions," he says.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Some of Europe's concern over this is definitely based on the trajectory of current US foreign policy against Iran, and they are correct in their assessment.

Any attempts at interdiction of Iranian or Iranian-flagged vessels will be tantamount to a declaration of war, by the US government against Iran.

Therefore, I would most politely remind the US government what was said at a conference involving both Iranian and Russian officials" :

Pentagon ‘Pretending’ to Fight Daesh in New Op to Justify US’ Continued Syria Occupation

With this renewed effort to combat Daesh forces in Syria, it’s understandable that some observers are scratching their heads, considering the fact that the commander-in-chief has declared ad nauseum that those same Daesh forces have been eliminated over the past year.

Despite US President Donald Trump’s repeated declarations of victory over Daesh, the US has - once again - announced a resumption in operations against the group. While the tug-of-war between the commander-in-chief and the Pentagon is apparent, one expert points out that there is one thing both parties can agree on: oil.

In a Saturday press conference, US Air Force Maj. Gen. Eric Hill announced that, following operations on November 22, a US-led coalition was able to not only capture a “significant amount” of small arms, ammunition and explosives, but also detained over a dozen Daesh soldiers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a creation of the US government, which funded/trained/armed Daesh (read: Isis), Daesh/ISIS is being used wherever the US government believes it needs a "distraction"; the current looting of Syrian oil creates a marvelous need for some consistent "misdirection".

'Surprise for the Enemy': Iran Launches Mass Production of Jask Cruise Missiles

Along with missile manufacturing, the country's Navy has also disclosed five other military projects it is currently involved in, including the sea-launched Pelikan drone, the Sadaf-2 naval mine, the Soren positioning system, the Balaban guided bomb, and the Loqman training vessel.

The Iranian Navy has initiated the mass production of submarine-launched Jask cruise missiles, the chief of the naval warfare service Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said on Saturday.

According to Khanzadi the domestically-developed missile will be fitted onto all of Iran's submarines, adding that the current range of the projectile will be significantly improved further on, allowing it to hit targets across long distances.

Looking at the hostility bubbling over from Israel and the US government against it, can one actually blame Iran for stepping up their weaponry program?!?

The short answer is, HELL, NO.

US Primes NATO To Confront Russia, China

Authored by M.K.Bhadrakumar via The Indian Punchline blog,

The December 3-4 summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) in London resembles a family reunion after the acrimony over the issue of military spending by America’s European allies.

The trend is up for defence spending across European Allies and Canada. Over $100 billion is expected to be added to the member states’ defence budgets by end-2020.

More importantly, the trend at the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting at Brussels on November 19-20, in the run-up to the London summit, showed that despite growing differences within the alliance, member states closed ranks around three priority items in the US global agenda — escalation of the aggressive policy toward Russia, militarisation of space and countering China’s rise.

The NATO will follow Washington’s lead to establish a space command by officially regarding space as “a new operational domain”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My big question here, other than the obvious tweaking of resources and NATO's readiness for war against China and Russia, is this; Will NATO do any better in space than it has done on earth?!?

Unfortunately, the short answer here, is no.

Syrian Army Bombs Kurdish Tankers Smuggling Oil to Turkey, A Message to Trump

Oil tankers and oil makeshift refineries in northeast Syria were bombed by ‘mysterious’ planes yesterday morning, SANA later stated it was done by the Syrian Army regional command.

The statement conveyed Syrian Arab News Agency SANA was brief but very meaningful:

“SANA’s correspondent in al-Hasakah quoted a field source as saying: after verifying that some Kurdish organizations in the Syrian Jazira region smuggle Syrian oil through tanks through Jarablus and Erbil region in northern Iraq to the Turkish regime, which they claim to be their main enemy, Groups of these tanks and oil refining centers were destroyed this morning.

The source stressed that strict measures will be taken against any smuggling of stolen oil from Syrian territory outside Syria.”

Syrian Jazira region refers to the Syrian territories east and northeast of the Euphrates.

That’s it!

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government, has been at its most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid, in this totally illegal occupation of Syrian oil fields, and the looting of its products.

I would like to hope, that SOMEONE in Moscow, is talking to SOMEONE in Washington, about avoiding military conflict between the US and Russia in Syria, but right now, it appears that this is a question of "when", not "if".

I would like to politely remind President Trump that what he has done here, is totally and completely illegal, under international law. The question here is, when, and how, will Putin respond to this behaviour?

Mr. President, please; I would calmly and seriously suggest that the US getting out of Syria would be a very reasonable thing to do, if you don't want the US military enmeshed in a war with Russia in Syria.

Trump Is First to Use PATRIOT Act to Detain a Man Forever

Never in 18 years has the government used Section 412 of the PATRIOT Act, which permits indefinite detention of resident aliens on national-security grounds. Until now.

or the 18-year lifespan of the war on terrorism, an obscure provision of the PATRIOT Act permitting the indefinite detention of non-citizens on U.S. soil has gone unused. But to keep a Palestinian man behind bars even after he finished serving his sentence, the Trump administration has fired this bureaucratic Chekhov’s gun.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at what went on shortly after 9/11 (and with Gina Haspel now the head of the CIA, God only knows the degree to which this continues),I have a sense that this isn't about what the guy did, or did not do. Also, there was never really a case against him, specifically, in which he was allowed to show any evidence that he was not any sort of terrorist.

Therefore, I have a very intense suspicion that the butt-ugly truth of the business is, that whatever happened to him in these various prisons, is far worse than water-boarding ever could have been. Consider the case of one Benyamin Mohammed, as the poster person for how this was done: Benyamin Mohammed was Tortured

The following is a "Lose your lunch" moment, and very graphic testimony by the formerly tortured man. The document from The Rendition Project, goes on to state, in Mohammed's own words:

"The beatings continued over the following days and weeks, interspersed with interrogations: ‘They’d say there’s this guy who says you’re the big man in al Qaeda. I’d say it’s a lie. They'd torture me. I’d say, okay it’s true. They'd say, okay, tell us more. I’d say, I don’t know more. They’d torture me again’. During this time, Mohamed also began to be tortured with a scalpel:

One of them took my penis in his hand and began to make cuts. He did it once and they stood for a minute, watching my reaction. I was in agony, crying, trying desperately to suppress myself, but I was screaming. I remember Marwan [the lead torturer] seemed to smoke half a cigarette, throw it down, and stat another. They must have done this 20 or 30 times, in maybe two hours. There was blood all over... They cut all over my private parts. One of them said it would be better just to cut it off, as I would only breed terrorists.

Once this form of torture started, Mohamed was subjected to it about once a month until he was transferred out of Morocco. He also says that there ‘were even worse things, too horrible to remember, let alone talk about’, and that these things happened about once a month as well."

During World War II, there was an incredible interrogator in Germany named Hanns Scharff. Hanns Scharff: Bio He never used torture to get information out of his prisoners, but frequently took them out on day passes, to cultural events nearby. Just by getting them out of the prison, and him telling them that he knew everything about their unit's mission, things were revealed, that were very important to the German government. His technique was so respected by the US military, that after the war, he was called upon to teach this to American interrogators.

When any nation tortures, particularly the US or the UK, (which, theoretically, both function under "the rule of Law"), it demonstrates that such nations respect human rights only in the breach of those rights, but not in the practice of allowing those human rights to be observed.

Torture only gets the tortured person to say what his or her interrogators want them to say, to get "confessions", which, most generally do not include any actionable information.

Also, when the US and/or the UK "sign off" on torture, this makes any tin-pot dictator believe they have "carte blanche" to torture both American/UK military, and American/UK civilians.

Please, chew on that for a moment, if you have friends or family serving currently, or are about to serve.

Mexico Won’t Allow US Military Operations Against Cartels: Foreign Minister warns drone strikes would violate sovereignty

President Trump’s move to declare Mexican cartels as terrorist groups is potentially going to be complicated, and Mexican President Obrador sought to establish a red-line, that Mexico will not allow the US to conduct cross-border military operations into Mexico looking for the cartels.

Trump hasn’t said he will send troops, saying that didn’t “want to say what I’m going to do” after the designation of the cartels. He refused to rule out the use of drone strikes in a recent interview, however.

Mexico’s foreign ministry was quick to reject that idea, saying that drone strikes would be a “violation of national sovereignty,” and have contacted the US to seek clarification about what they actually intend to do.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump will treat Mexico's sovereignty... in just the same way as he has treated the sovereignty of Syria; the Mexican government is helpless to put a stop to it, unless another nation with heavy "fire-power" intervenes, as Russia did in Syria.

What President Trump should do, is to declare that personal amounts of all drugs become unscheduled, to pull the profit motive out from under the cartels' bottom line; of course, this will happen only when pigs discover they are aerodynamic, because there is so much money to be made from the illicit drug trade, by banks, corporations, and even, perhaps...political candidates.

And I am NOT throwing down the "j'accuse" against President Trump on this issue; I just wish he saw drug addiction more as an illness, rather than something against which to declare war.

Tulsi Gabbard: Wake Up And Smell Our $6.4 Trillion Wars; Meanwhile, her fellow Democrats appear abysmally unconcerned about the human and financial toll.

NOVEMBER 29, 2019|12:01 AM
DOUG BANDOW
The Democratic establishment is increasingly irritated. Representative Tulsi Gabbard, long-shot candidate for president, is attacking her own party for promoting the “deeply destructive” policy of “regime change wars.” Gabbard has even called Hillary Clinton “the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party.”

Senator Chris Murphy complained: “It’s a little hard to figure out what itch she’s trying to scratch in the Democratic Party right now.” Some conservatives seem equally confused. The Washington Examiner’s Eddie Scarry asked: “where is Tulsi distinguishing herself when it really matters?”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Gabbard has this issue by the "short and curlies", and I respect her for taking no prisoners, when it comes to these horrific wars.

Tom Perez, please; at the end of the day, you are going to need a Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidate who appeal to the American "middle", to the centrists, if you will.

IF you actually run Biden (with Ukrainegate already bursting out at the seams); Clinton, (who has more baggage than does Kim Kardashian on a photo shoot); Warren or Sanders (both socialists with no real "middle appeal"), you will, just as you did in 2016, The Democrats will lose this election to President Trump, and it will be your own damned fault.

We both know that Buttegeig and Gabbard may be considered "long shots"; but at the end of the day, we both know that Presidential candidates are created, and do not come out of the ether (Remember the propaganda for the first Clinton campaign, "A Town called Hope"?!?) But I think, if your PR team has any sense, they will do a decent pairing of these two, as reasonable, intelligent human beings, whose domestic and foreign policies will make sense to the American people.

That could work really well, and you just might not lose out on the Presidential election twice in a row.

With any other candidates you have to put forward, the Dems will lose again, to Trump; and I don't believe, for a moment, that you want to see that happen.

Time Is Running Out For Trump’s North Korea Diplomacy; Year's end an artificial deadline, but lack of progress is causing problems

orth Korea has said the US has until the end of the year to come up with a new proposal to revive stalled diplomatic engagement between the two nations. US officials have similarly warned North Korea that time is running out, albeit without specific deadlines.

As a practical matter, these deadlines are all artificial and arbitrary, and the nations could engage whenever they want to. At the same time, many months have gone by without any progress, and the process is plainly growing stale for it.

It isn’t even that there are a slew of disagreements holding things up. Rather, there is a very specific issue: North Korea wants something in return for denuclearization, and the US just keeps demanding they denuclearize unconditionally, with hints they might get something in return eventually.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is not any kind of negotiation, if one side demands XYZ from the other, and there is no Quid Pro Quo from the side doing the demanding; this is precisely what we have in the US position regarding North Korea.

Taliban: Talks Should Resume From Where They Left Off

President Trump’s announcement on Thursday that Afghanistan peace talks have resumed came as a surprise to many, because while there was an apparent process already going on, it wasn’t being made public by anyone.

Taliban officials confirmed that the talks are ongoing, with spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid saying that they are ready for talks, but that their position is the talks resume where they were previously suspended by President Trump.

Taliban negotiator Suhail Shaheen said much the same thing, saying that it is up to the US to get back to the table to resume the talks that were already nearly successful, and that their positions haven’t changed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to believe that there is some reason for hope here, but I am not holding my breath, until I see something that actually approximates progress; the American people and the world have been assured that "peace was nearly at hand" once too many times, without any substantive process having actually been made.

Maduro Says US, Colombia Prepare Provocation, Mobilises Venezuelan Army

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said he had information that Colombia and the United States were planning a provocation on the Bolivarian Republic's western border and called on all staff of the country's armed forces to be prepared for battle.

"I have information that Colombia, together with the US Southern Command are planning to launch another provocation at the Venezuelan border with Colombia. All staff of Venezuela's armed forces must be combat ready", Maduro said on Friday during his meeting with the country's transportation employees broadcast via Twitter.

The president added that the provocations served to incite a military conflict on the Venezuela-Colombia border in order to draw attention away from the protests taking place in Colombia

Webmaster's Commentary:

I hope like hell Maduro is wrong in his assessment here; that being said, however, given the probable attempted assassination attempt on his life last year Potential assassination attempt made on Venezuela's President Maduro, August 2018, I don't blame the guy for getting more than a little bit concerned here.

Turkey refusing to sign NATO defense plan for the Baltics, pressing alliance to label Syria’s Kurds as ‘terrorists’ – report

Ankara has reportedly been blackmailing NATO, refusing to sign the proposed defense plan for the Baltics and Poland unless the alliance officially recognizes Kurdish-led militia in northern Syria as a “terrorist group.”
Agreeing on a new NATO defense plan for the eastern European countries has escalated from a formality into a true diplomatic battle, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing four senior sources within the bloc.

“[The Turks) are taking eastern Europeans hostage, blocking approval of this military planning until they get concessions,” one of the sources said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This... is about to get awkward, in the extreme.

Because of its geography, NATO needs Turkey; however, Turkey is beginning to move more and more toward the orbit of the Russian Federation.

This argument may not end well for NATO.

'You can’t knock on their door': Israel strikes some Gaza targets without checking for civilians in real time

Two weeks since the air force attack in Deir el-Balah that killed nine members of the Sawarkah family, who were living in a structure that the army had defined as an Islamic Jihad “terror infrastructure,” the Israel Defense Forces are still investigating why the green light to bomb the building wasn’t based on updated information.

But an inquiry conducted by Haaretz shows that this conduct isn’t unusual. According to sources in the defense establishment, the IDF often bombs terror targets in Gaza that were included in its target bank long before the strike without checking in real time whether there are civilians at the site or whether the site has been converted into residences.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reality is that members of the IDF have absolutely no qualms about killing innocent civilians; it is just when they get caught doing it, that there is just the slightest glimmer of embarrassment, that they couldn't murder more of them than they did in any particular incident.

Iran, China, & Russia Gear Up For Unprecedented War Games In "Message To The World"

Just as Americans were gearing up for Thanksgiving, on Wednesday Iranian officials announced they will send a "message to the world" by holding unprecedented war games with partner forces Russia in China in the Indian Ocean.

Semi-official Mehr news agency cited Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi on Wedneday to reveal the "mass war drills" will held at some point next month or the "near future" in a historic first, and as the three unlikely allies find themselves facing ramped up Washington sanctions and pressure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) President Trump, a word, please.

Have you noticed that your foreign policies appear to driving other countries very far away from the American sphere of influence, and into the spheres of influence of both Russia and China?!?

I have a very hard time, believing that such was the design intent of your foreign policies.

And sir, if this doesn't disturb you, I must confess, that the hairs on the back of my neck are attempting to breakdance, a very unusual situation for my hair, in learning of these exercises.

Are We on the Path to War? – Middle East Heats Up While Viewers Watch the Impeachment

Discussions are underway with new NATO ally Bulgaria to create a Black Sea Coordination Center in Varna. The United States is considering a ten-year roadmap for defense cooperation with Bulgaria and is eager to provide Sofia broader access to its high-end military technologies. The advanced technologies would include surveillance capabilities specifically targeting Russia.
There is also a fundamental second level of stupidity in basing such an effort in Bulgaria as the Turks, also frequently at odds with Washington, control the door to the Black Sea through the Bosporus and Dardanelles. If relations really do go sour and if demands to kick Turkey out of NATO ever do bear fruit, Ankara can make it very difficult for NATO warships transiting into the Black Sea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In fact, one has to wonder if these impeachment hearings have contained some industrial-strength, Deep State misdirection, while elements within it are working with their Israeli counterparts to insure that US citizens "have a reason" for signing on to a war against an alleged "enemy" which has neither declared war on this country, nor attacked it.

Folks, unfortunately, this is not a question of "if"; it is a question of "when."

But I would like to politely remind those in the bowels of power in DC, what a Russian Diplomat assured some Iranian diplomats this last summer: Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says

Frankly, I think we can take this person at his word; Russian officials do not even FART without Putin's permission.

Anger over India's diplomat calling for 'Israel model' in Kashmir

An hour-long video featuring Sandeep Chakravorty, India's consul general in New York, has gone viral on social media, in which he is addressing a group of Kashmiri Hindus - known as Pandits - at a private event in the US city last week.

"I believe the security situation will improve, it will allow the refugees to go back, and in your lifetime, you will be able to go back … and you will be able to find security, because we already have a model in the world," said Chakravorty, referring to the exodus of tens of thousands of Kashmiri Hindus in 1989 after an armed rebellion against the Indian rule started in the Himalayan region.

"I don't know why we don't follow it. It has happened in the Middle East. If the Israeli people can do it, we can also do it," he said, adding that the current Indian leadership is "determined" to do so.

'Chilling video'

Webmaster's Commentary:

So let me get this straight; this guy wants to make Kashmiri Muslims second-class citizens, or worse, create a "Final Solution" response to their presence in Kashmir?!?

Forgive me, but I am having a palm to forehead moment, at warp speed, upon reading this!! WHAT THE HELL IS THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT THINKING, TO HAVE SOMEONE ADVOCATING FOR THIS MONSTROUS SUGGESTION IN PUBLIC, WITH THE SURE AND CERTAIN KNOWLEDGE THAT IT WOULD GO VIRAL?!?

This world has had some of its most brilliant thinkers and philosophers came from India; it's a pity that its current governmental regime cannot be described as belonging to either camp here.

South Korea Fires Warning Shots at North Korean Merchant Ship: Ship believed to cross disputed border over bad weather

he South Korean military reported that they fired warning shots at a North Korean merchant ship on Wednesday when it crossed the disputed maritime border off the country’s west coast, forcing the ship to flee.

The ship in question, which was not identified, was believed to have crossed into disputed waters because of a combination of bad weather and engine problems. It did, however, manage to flee back to North Korea.

Still, firing warning shots at a ship in distress at all probably isn’t idea for South Korea to have done, even if no further incidents came of it. South Korea’s military wants to strictly control the maritime border, but this was a decidedly unfriendly act.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This will most certainly scotch any "reunification talks" in the immediate future; one has to wonder if, in fact, the South Korean military personnel who ordered the firing of the "warning shot" might have been an American agent; that might go a long way toward explaining why a North Korean ship in distress, would have been fired upon.

US Moves Forward With Saudi Troop MissionUS negotiates cost-sharing for growing presence in Saudi Arabia

According to Pentagon officials, the US has begun negotiations with Saudi Arabia on the question of cost-sharing for the ever-growing US military presence in the Saudi kingdom. Talks began with the arrival of US radar and air defense systems.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley met with the Saudi crown prince this week and brought up this matter. Milley was presenting the US presence as aimed squarely at Iran, and deterring Iran from attacking the Saudis.

Gen. Milley also intended to give the impression that this was not a short-term mission, either, saying the US wants to maintain this presence in the region as part of America’s overall regional footprint.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The burgeoning US military presence in Saudi Arabia, is about much more than protecting the country from alleged "Iranian covert elements" destroying oil processing facilities here; it is about establishing a beachhead for the coming war against Iran, and assisting in "turning" governments in the region into governments which are far more US-centric, than is their current leadership.

The government of Iran understands this, which is why their military did a massive defense drill last week; the question here, is not if, but when.

NARRATIVE MANAGERS FACEPLANT IN HILARIOUS OPCW SCANDAL SPIN JOB

Syria has been the target of what may be the most sophisticated propaganda campaign in history, and Bellingcat has been consistently rallying behind even the most transparently ridiculous tools of this campaign. This includes the notorious Bana Alabed psyop which at its height saw CNN staging a fake, scripted interview featuring a seven year-old girl assigning blame to Bashar al-Assad for an alleged sarin gas attack in Khan Shaykhun. Bellingcat’s stellar investigative work (which has been praised in fawning puff pieces by mainstream outlets like The Guardian and The New Yorker) concluded that this obvious propaganda construct was in fact nothing other than a little girl and her mother independently composing viral tweets, giving interviews and authoring books about how the Syrian government must be toppled via western interventionism.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Propaganda is pretty darned easy to spot, if you know what to look for; it is disinformation, beautifully packaged, in order to drive a Government-narrative to which they want their readers agreeing, and fervently in favor of having the government do, such as a massive strike on Syria, even knowing that such a move is apt to rankle Moscow to the point of starting a shooting war in that country.

So I would like to politely remind our readers that just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could do, is no guarantee that it will not either try to legitimize such a move, or really do it.

ISRAELI GOVERNMENT TO EXPAND GLOBAL ARMS EXPORTS IN 2020

SOURCE: MIDDLE EAST MONITOR
The Israeli government is aiming to increase the volume of Israel’s defence exports, reported Globes, which has revealed the main points of the plan for the first time.

The project, being overseen by the Defence Ministry’s International Defence Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) led by Brigadier General (Res.) Yair Kulas, will begin to be rolled out in early 2020.

According to Globes, the plan is based on “focused seminars for senior commanders in foreign armies”, Israeli military “assistance for promoting sales of Israeli weapons”, and “subsidising small and medium-sized defence companies seeking to sell arms around the world”.

Speaking this week, Kulas said that SIBAT favours a major expansion of agreements between countries, resulting in significant deals for the large defence companies, especially Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me unsurprised at this development; but one has to wonder how Israeli weaponry really stands up to that of China or Russia, at this point?!?

New report warns Chinese long-range anti-ship missiles outclass US radars

The next war the US will lose big and the American people will find out what war is like. We are in big trouble.

In naval warfare, awareness and range are key. Fleets are by their nature projections of power that contest a given area of the sea, and their commanders must be aware of everything that comes into and goes out of that zone.

A new report by the conservative Hudson Institute think tank warns the US Navy doesn’t have the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) assets to provide the information US fleet commanders need in today’s oceanic battlefields, much less in the expanded naval ops envisioned by the Trump administration.

Trump Fires Navy Secretary: A Green Light for More War Crimes?

President Trump last week pardoned Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher, who had been convicted of war crimes after murdering a Daesh* suspect in cold blood. Gallagher had been turned in by his own men and prosecuted by his superiors. Navy Secretary Richard Spencer opposed the pardon and went public with his opposition to President Trump’s decision to also led Gallagher keep his Navy SEAL pin. Yesterday, Defense Secretary Mark Esper forced the Navy Secretary to resign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I found myself less than comfortable with President Trump's decision, because what does that now do to the entire chain of command?!?

Are senior military officers going to see this as an end-run around their authority, as commanders, by the Commander in Chief?

Saudi Coalition Releases 200 Houthi Prisoners as Backroom Yemen Peace Deal Edges Closer

The Saudi-led coalition force in Yemen announced Tuesday it had released 200 Houthi prisoners. The news comes amid a large Houthi air raid on coalition forces and swirling rumors that Riyadh may finally be seeking an exit from the disastrous, four-year-long war.

Houthi Prisoners Repatriated
On Tuesday, coalition spokesperson Turki al-Malki said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency that 200 Houthi prisoners had been released as part of the Stockholm Agreement prisoner exchange, Xinhua News Agency reported.

“The coalition leadership is keen to continue supporting efforts to resolve the crisis in Yemen and to push forward the Stockholm agreement, including the deal related to the exchange of prisoners,” Malki said. He further noted the coalition would allow flights out of Sana’a, the Yemeni capital held by the Houthis since 2014, in order to transfer those who need medical treatment out of the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Two Launches from Gaza Strip Identified as Sirens Go Off in Sderot, IDF Report

Sirens went off in Gaza Strip and Sderot, Israeli Defence Forces reported on their twitter page on Tuesday.

Following the sirens, two launches from Gaza Strip at Israeli territory were identified, according to the IDF. The military added the Iron Dome air defence system managed to intercept one projectile.

"2 rockets were just fired from #Gaza at Israeli civilians. 1 rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System," the IDF wrote on its Twitter page.

Pakistan summons Norwegian Ambassador amid outcry over Koran burning at rally in Kristiansand

Islamabad expressed “deep concern” and launched a diplomatic action over the burning of the Koran in Norway, while the man who tried to save the book earned high praise on Pakistani social media.

Last week, a young Muslim counter-protester tackled Lars Thorsen, the head of the Stop Islamization of Norway (SIAN), after he set a copy of the Koran on fire at an anti-Muslim rally in the city of Kristiansand. The video of the incident caused a strong reaction in Pakistan, where the man reportedly named Ilyas Umer was hailed as hero on social media for trying to “save” the most-revered book in Islam.

‘Cross our red lines & be destroyed’: Iran’s elite IRGC chief warns US, Israel and Saudi Arabia at large pro-govt rally

All external foes will be defeated if they make moves against Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander warned at a massive pro-government rally amid protests over fuel price hikes.

Major General Hossein Salami addressed people in downtown Tehran on Monday. He said that the country’s rivals are “no longer capable of anything” in their attacks against the nation.

We have shown patience towards the hostile moves of America, the Zionist regime [Israel] and Saudi Arabia against the Islamic Republic of Iran... but we will destroy them if they cross our red lines.

Thousands have marched on the streets of the country’s capital and gathered on the Enqelan Square (Revolution Square). Calling themselves the ‘Supporters of the Leadership’, the demonstrators waved national flags, carried placards and chanted slogans in support for the Supreme Leader Ali Khanemei and the current government. Some were also seen burning American flags.

Open Letter to UK Home Secretary Priti Pateland Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott

We write this open letter, as medical doctors, to express our serious concerns about the physical and mental health of Julian Assange. Our professional concerns follow publication recently of the harrowing eyewitness accounts of Craig Murray and John Pilger of the case management hearing on Monday 21 October 2019 at Westminster Magistrates Court. The hearing related to the upcoming February 2020 hearing of the request by the US government for Mr Assange’s extradition to the US in relation to his work as a publisher of information, including information about alleged crimes of the US government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Assange may well be "assassinated" by a number of methods, converging to attempt to make the murder seem to have been suicide, as we found with Epstein's "curious case".

He is being gradually killed, through elements of medical neglect; psychological torture; potential misdiagnosis, and medications, (or weaponized illnesses) to create that outcome of a painful, horrific death; if he makes it out of Balmarch alive, it will be an amazing feat, but I would not bet on it.

Indispensable No More? How the American Public Sees U.S. Foreign Policy

Executive Summary:
The Eurasia Group Foundation (EGF) commissioned a national survey to investigate the foreign policy preferences of American voters. We asked more than twelve hundred respondents detailed questions about their views on foreign policy. This follows a version of a survey which we reported on last year. The following observations are included among our study’s findings:

Americans favor a less aggressive foreign policy. The findings are consistent across a number of foreign policy issues, and across generations and party lines:–More than twice as many want to decrease as increase the defense budget;–Thirty-five percent more think America should decrease than increase its military presence in East Asia as a response to a rising China.

Trump Must Understand a War With Iran Would Be Hell

Sixteen years ago, the George W. Bush administration manipulated intelligence to scare the public into backing an aggressive war against Iraq.

Now the Trump administration appears to be following the same well-worn path. The president has fixated on Iran, tearing up the nuclear accord with Tehran and declaring economic war on it—as well as anyone dealing with Iran. He is pushing America toward war even as he insists that he wants peace. How stupid does he believe we are?

Thousands of dead Americans, tens of thousands of wounded and maimed U.S. personnel, hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis, and millions of Iraqis displaced. There was the sectarian conflict, destruction of the historic Christian community, the creation of Al Qaeda in Iraq—which morphed into the far deadlier Islamic State—and the enhanced influence of Iran. The prime question was how could so many supposedly smart people be so stupid?

Top US General Predicts ‘Likely’ Iranian Attacks

The impeachment of Trump didn't get serious until he refused to attack Iran over the drone shootdown.

What a War Whore this individual is. An attack on Iran will be the beginning of the end for the US,military wise and economically. The dollar will be the first casualty. Oil prices will skyrocket and a worldwide depression and world war will ensue.

Months upon months of US military buildups in the Middle East, all around Iran, combined with near-constant threats to attack Iran outright have sure been raising regional tensions, but according to US Centcom commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, it is not believed to be deterring Iran.

Sa’ar to Netanyahu: You are not facing a coup; Likud and Israel need new leader

Lawmaker says PM’s irresponsible, destructive attacks on law enforcement are leading country to ‘chaos’; calls for Likud leadership contest in next two weeks, which he hopes to win.

Senior Likud lawmaker Gideon Sa’ar on Saturday castigated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for describing the charges against him as an attempted coup, demanded an immediate leadership contest in their ruling Likud party, and claimed he could “easily form a government.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Likud Representative S'aar, you have my respect for "calling a spade a spade", in terms of Netanyahu's diatribe against these charges.

But sir, I am not alone in my concern, understanding that a geopolitical animal who is wounded can be very dangerous, and attempt to deflect blame with some kind of distraction; many Americans are concerned that there will be a "false flag" coming up this holiday weekend, to be blamed on Iran, in order to start a war against it.

It is not good, that Jewish law does not seem to have provisions for getting a Prime Minister out of office, if he is deemed to be emotionally, or intellectually, incapable of fulfilling his responsibility to his citizens; and unfortunately, Netanyahu right now, qualifies under both definitions of incapability.

Kurdish Officials: US Troops at Syrian Oilfields Won’t Stop Turkish Invasion

A Kurdish senior foreign affairs official, Aldar Xelil, reported that the US has assured Kurdish forces that US troops will remain in the oilfield area between Derik and Terbespiya, in eastern Syria.

This assurance doesn’t seem to be helping the Kurds feel a lot better, however. with Xelil pointing out that this really isn’t going to do anything to prevent the Turkish offensives into northeastern Syria.

The US announced a “pullout” from Syria but ended up just redeploying around the oil, with President Trump saying the oil is the priority. Xelil says the US has no intention of staying anywhere west of Qamilshli, and for the Kurds, that’s a problem.

The US is still in Syria, but there’s about 100 km gap between Syrian-held Syria and US-held oilfield where Turkey and its rebels are not only free to invade Kurdish-held territory, but to push potentially quite deep into Kurdish territory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The big question for the Kurds is, when is the US government going to stop lying to them about the possibility of an Independent Kurdistan, and tell them the truth; they have been used, had, and because they are no longer useful, have been thrown under the proverbial bus?

And NOW we have Vice-President Pence, posturing, and virtue-signaling to the Kurdish governments and people, that the us "WILL BE SUPPORTING THE KURDS, after the ISIS war is finished. "Pence Reassures Iraqi Kurds in Surprised-Announced Visit.

But what, precisely, is this "support" pledged by Pence?!?

Is it that " independent homeland" for which the Kurdish people, have wanted so long, and if so, what country would allow a "bite out of their territory" taken, to accomodate a Kurdish homeland?!?

The short answer, may well be never.

And there is another problem with Pence's statements to Kurdish leaders in Iraq even though he has pledged "support" when the Isis war "is over", we are looking at endless wars, both existing, in supporting US hegemony in the Middle East.

So Pence could obviously make that hyper-ambiguous statement with a straight face,, because he knows, incontrovertibly, that war, to attempt to keep the Middle East destabilized, is the American game-plan, and will continue for decades.

Unfortunately the Kurds need to find a truly reliable sponsor in the Middle East, or beyond, who can actually assist them in reaching their goal of nationhood, and that country is certainly not the United States.

OPCW Accused of Manipulating Syrian Chemical Attack Report

WikiLeaks published an email sent by a member of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), who accused the organization of manipulating their report on an alleged chemical attack that was said to have taken place in the Syrian city of Douma on April 7th 2018.

In response to the alleged attack, the US, UK, and France carried out airstrikes on the Syrian government on April 14th 2018. The author of the email was a member of a fact-finding team the OPCW sent to Douma to investigate the attack.

The author accuses the OPCW of selectively omitting certain facts. The email, dated June 22nd 2018, reads, "Many of the facts and observations outlined in the full version are inextricably interconnected and, by selectively omitting certain ones, an unintended bias has been introduced into the report, undermining its credibility."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me unsurprised by these revelations, and reminds me that of painfully accurate statement, "The first casualty of war is truth."

The article goes on to state: "Addressing a Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS Small Group Ministerial meeting, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asserted that “we’re watching the space once occupied by this fraudulent caliphate [ie, ISIS] like a hawk. That’s why we’re maintaining our residual presence at Tanf, in southern Syria, and our capacity to conduct air operations. We’ve repositioned some our troops in north east Syria and in the broader region as well, to make sure that ISIS will never get a second wind and to prevent ISIS from recapturing the oil fields”. “We are continuing to pursue a diplomatic resolution of the Syrian conflict with UN Security Council Resolution 2254 as the guide so that stability can, one day, return to this war-torn land”, Pompeo added. The coalition also issued a joint communique."

Since it has been the US which has been funding, arming, and training ISIS, one has to wonder what this operation is supposed to do; attempt a decap strike against Damascus?!? Or potentially throw out the Russians from where they are stationed?!?

Another article appeared just a couple of days ago, with the following headline: RUSSIA ENCROACHERS ON US STRONGHOLD IN SYRIA, THREATENING CONFLICTBut I have to ask; if US troops have been deployed into this area, how can Russians be "encroaching", in light of the fact that the Russian forces have been there for some time; and the US has not been invited by either Syria's President, Bashar Al-Asad, to be a part of the solution here,or the Russia's government and military, who have been very effective in eliminating the jihadists??

This next week, may well a very rough week for those people living in the Middle East.

Trump Officials Meet With 'Strongman' Haftar's Political Team In Major Libya Shift

Starting last April President Trump caught many in his own administration off guard when he unexpectedly thanked renegade General Khalifa Haftar for "securing Libya's oil resources" at a moment the rebel leader assaulted the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli.

The public praise and phone call between Trump and the former CIA-backed warlord was a shock at the time given the US has maintained a policy of only recognizing the GNA in line with UN allies.

But now that continued recognition appears to be shifting fast after this week Trump admin officials held multiple meetings with an official representing Haftar's political team named Aref al-Nayed, expected to hold a top leadership position once Tripoli is 'liberated' by Haftar's Libyan National Army (LNA).

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US and UN were unable to beat Haftar on the ground, so the US decided to join him.

Top U.S. General: It’s ‘Very Possible’ Iran Will Attack Again

The threat from Tehran continues to increase despite U.S. military buildup, U.S. Central Command’s Gen. Kenneth McKenzie says.

MANAMA, Bahrain—Since May, the Pentagon has dispatched 14,000 additional U.S. troops, an aircraft carrier, and tens of thousands of pounds of military equipment to the Middle East to respond to what it says are alarming new threats from Iran. But despite the stepped-up U.S. military posture, the top U.S. general in the region believes the Iranian threat continues to rise—and Tehran is likely to continue lashing out.

“I think the strike on Saudi Aramco in September is pretty indicative of a nation that is behaving irresponsibly,” said Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the commander of U.S. Central Command, in a Friday interview, referring to the Sept. 14 Iran-sponsored attack on Saudi facilities that took half of Riyadh’s oil production offline.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, a quick question, sir; did the Houthis, against whose country, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the US are attempting to bomb back to the stone age, not accept responsibility for this attack, which Iran denied?!?

2019 Abqaiq–Khurais attack

The timing of your claim is of great concern, sir; we have Netanyahu, doing the "Just Got Indicted, who can I hit with a False Flag?" mambo to change the narrative in Tel Aviv and beyond; the US has deployed another 3,000 troops to Saudi Arabia, allegedly to "counter Iranian aggression.", and Iran doing a huge defense drill in their northern territories.

I note that the date of your statement, 23 November, is 6 days away from that most iconic of American holidays, Thanksgiving, this year falling on Thursday, 28 November.

One has to wonder if, perhaps, this statement is supposed to "groom" the American public to expect Iran to do something horrific this next holiday weekend, when they totally denied the attack on the Aramco facility in Saudi Arabia, and for which the Houthis claimed responsibility?!?

Sir, forgive me, but just how completely stupid do you think the American people are, to believe this codswallop?!?

The Iranian leadership may be many things, but foolish, is not one of them; they would not DARE do something this stupid, as they know that the US/Israeli reaction would be to turn Tehran into a puddle of radioactive glass.

Netanyahu won’t go quietly and will opt for the burning torches

YOSSI VERTER, HAARETZ, NOVEMBER 22, 2019

It was totally clear in his remarks Thursday: The embattled prime minister aims to accuse the legal system of launching a coup against him – and wait for the masses to follow his lead.

Not a smidgen of humility or regret did we hear from defendant Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday night. Israel’s first sitting prime minister to be charged with bribery, fraud and breach of trust neither bowed his head in shame nor gave any other indication of soul-searching.

Like any garden-variety criminal, he assailed the police investigators, the prosecutors and the attorney general in crude language and with boundless chutzpah. With his back to the wall, both figuratively and literally, and facing trial, maybe even prison, he gave shape to what has been written on the wall for three years now: He has no intention of going quietly and cutting his losses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I very much agree with Vertner's assessment here, and have found some very interesting, and reasoned, reporting at Haaretz, to which I have linked before.

But it is obvious to anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together, that the Middle East is headed for more military conflict, largely because of the US's unrelenting aid and abetting of Israel's criminal behaviour against its neighbors in the region. This is, of course, illegal, per the Symington Amendment Symington Amendment, but the US government only picks and chooses what it wants to observe, and what it wants to ignore, when it comes to US foreign policy and Israel, unfortunately.

There are three separate items, coming together this week, that gravely concern me;

1. The timing of the announcement of the charges against Netanyahu, and his potential "mad-dog reaction" to them; AG announces Netanyahu to stand trial for bribery, fraud and breach of trust

2. The US government has deployed another 3,000 military personnel to Saudi Arabia US continues building troop presence in Saudi Arabia (to allegedly counter Iranian Aggression)
and:
3. Massive Iranian defense drills are being held now. IRAN HOLDS MAJOR AIR WAR GAMES AS U.S. MILITARY MOVES THROUGH TOP OIL ROUTE

This article goes on to state: "Iran has begun wide scale air defense drills, simulating a potential aerial invasion amid regional unrest and a powerful U.S. Navy warship sailed near its shores.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 98-Guardians of Velayat Sky joint exercises, Iranian Army Air Defense Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard said Thursday that the maneuvers were being held across an area of some 416,000 square kilometers—roughly the size of the U.S. state of California—mostly in the northern province of Semnan. He said his forces "will practice the toughest and most realistic combat conditions," simulating a conflict in the Persian Gulf, especially the Strait of Hormuz, the world's most important oil chokepoint."

Right now, as Americans start to gather for one of the most iconically American celebrations, Thanksgiving, I would not at all be surprised if Netanyahu's minions in the IDF, and/or Shin Beit, have decided to "cook up" a false flag, engineered to kill as many Americans as possible (as happened in the USS Liberty Affair, trying to trick the US into believing that Egypt was the culprit), or against American assets, blame it on Iran, and off we go, into a war against.... Iran, Syria, and ... Russia.

President Trump looks at both Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza, and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen as his "BFFs" in the region; particularly in the case of Netanyahu, and the laying out of these charges, nothing could be further from the truth.

Will Netanyahu exploit Trump's belief that he is a true friend, by ordering a false flag?!?

The short answer here is, Hell yes, if Netanyahu believes, even for a second, that such an horrific act is the only thing which will "save his bacon" on these corruption charges.

Please remember what a high ranking Russian official told a delegation from Iran last June: Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says

Didn't read that in an American paper or blog at the time, did you?!? Of course not!! This is why people who want a real handle on the news read the foreign press in English, to get at least a clue, as to what is happening globally. Don't just trust us; get out there and decide for yourself.

But this coming week looks potentially very ugly, particularly if you live anywhere in the Middle East.

Can the Religious Left Take Down Nuclear Weapons?

In her testimony, Plowshares defendant Clare Grady of the Ithaca, New York Catholic Worker community tried to explain to the jury the motivation and urgency of the group: US government is using nuclear weapons daily as a gun pointed at the head of the planet. But even as she spoke, she had a series of legal guns pointed at her own head. She and her fellow defendants had been threatened with contempt if they disobeyed Wood’s edict not to cite evidence or legal arguments that might result in acquittal. As law professor Francis Boyle warned before the trial: “This is a kangaroo court with a rubber stamp and a railroad all put together.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

These people will be in my prayers, and I consider all of them, to be very courageous in expressing the courage of their spiritual convictions by what they have done.

Were their actions the only potential things they could have done?!?

No; but I think they decided on their actions to create some awareness about the horrific dangers of nuclear weapons for those who were unawakened, as to just how destructive these weapons can be.

I would like to hope that what they may well have started, is a quiet, intelligent dialogue among people who understand, that the whole notion of mutually assured destruction, is, in and of itself, totally insane.

And please remember; the US government is the only government on the face of this planet to have used nuclear weapons...twice.

FURIOUS CHINA SHADOWS TWO US WARSHIPS SAILING THROUGH DISPUTED WATERS, WARNS THEM TO LEAVE

SOURCE: ZERO HEDGE

China is again furious after the US sailed several warships through the heavily disputed waters in the South China Sea, military sources told Reuters. The move by the US has escalated tensions between both countries, already tense as the latest round of trade talks have fallen apart, and the signing of the phase one trade deal has likely been delayed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a palm to forehead moment, at warp speed, upon reading this.

The key to both great comic delivery, and statescraft, is timing; in this case, as was the case with the Senate passing a bill this last week which supported the Hong Kong protestors against the Chinese government, the timing could possibly have been worse, but I sure as hell cannot imagine how.

The horrific suffering of American farmers over China's not buying their crops, because of the trade debacle, which has been costing properties taken in foreclosures, and actual suicides among American farmers, cannot possibly be overstated.

China has furiously demanded of President Trump that he veto the Hong Kong bill; and while we most probably will have to wait to see if he actually does this, this legislation, coupled with a very angry Chinese government over this deployment of American war ships in the South China Sea, is not winning any friends in the Chinese government right now, and President Trump and his advisors are so moving in the wrong direction here.

Because when the timing of certain elements of statescraft appears to have gone "mammary glands vertical", you know that something is very wrong with Trump's approach to China, unless the whole thrust of these policies, collectively, is to goad China into going to war against the US.

And of all the ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid things this administration could be contemplating right now, a war with China is right up there among the most potentially insane possibilities being treated as a viable scenario.

"British" Bankers Supplied Germany to Extend WWI

By Henry Makow Ph.D.
(From Dec. 1, 2007)
On Oct 12, 1915, Edith Cavell, 50, a British nurse and head of a teaching hospital in Belgium, was shot by a German firing squad. Her death inflamed anti-German feeling in the US and caused enlistment in England to double.

She had helped some British POW's escape. Normally her crime was punished by three months imprisonment. Why was she killed?

According to Eustace Mullins, Edith Cavell had stumbled upon some damaging information. On April 15, 1915, The Nursing Mirror in London published her letter revealing that the Allied "Belgian Relief Commission" (charged with feeding Belgium) was, in fact, channeling thousands of tons of supplies to Germany.

THE CIA HELPED SHAPE ‘TOM CLANCY’S JACK RYAN’ SERIES INTO A BIGOTED VENEZUELA REGIME CHANGE FANTASY

“The CIA is something that we should all not only cherish, but be saying thank you every single day,” Krasinski declared.

“The coolest thing ever for me, I mean I totally nerded out when we got to the CIA,” Krasinski effused. “They were the most unbelievably generous, kind, smart people.”

Krasinski’s comments flowed directly from his experience as the star of the second series of the Amazon series, “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.”

In a new video analysis of the show (embedded at the end of this article), researcher Tom Secker exposed the show as straightforward US imperial propaganda which was produced in direct collaboration with the CIA and Pentagon.

NETANYAHOO, INDICTED FOR BRIBERY, FRAUD AND BREACH OF TRUST, BECOMES MORE DANGEROUS

Source: Moon Over Alabama

The Attorney General of Israel just indicted Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu in three cases. The announcement comes at a time of political stalemate. It might help to resolve it.

Israel had two parliament elections this year which both ended in a political stalemate. Neither Prime Minister Netanyahu of the Likud Party nor Blue and White coalition leader Benny Gantz managed to form a government. Both were unable to find enough additional votes to form a coalition and to gain a majority.

Now the parliament has 21 days to find a majority. It will likely fail and a third election seems inevitable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think Moon over Alabama, has been bang spot-on with their analysis; nothing is more dangerous than a wounded animal; the same can be said for a geopolitically wounded politician, as Netanyahu is right now.

We are coming toward one of the most iconic of American celebrations next week, which is Thanksgiving Day; while most Americans are in their turkey/tryptophan-induced coma, and watching lost of sports for the long weekend, one has to wonder if the IDF and/or Shin Beit, are "cooking up" some kind of false flag, to be blamed against Iran and Syria, and off we go.....

I hope to heaven that I am absolutely wrong on this; but with Iran running defensive military drills, the US deploying 3,000 more troops to Saudi Arabia, coupled with the announcement about Netanyahu's indictments... this next week could be a very, thoroughly rough one for the world, particularly for those living anywhere in the Middle East right now.
