First Whitewater prosecutor says 'serious crimes' were uncovered in probe

The first federal prosecutor to probe the financial dealings of Bill and Hillary Clinton says he was poised to bring high-profile indictments against top Arkansas political and business figures — based in part on testimony from a chief witness against the then president — when he was abruptly replaced by a panel of federal judges, throwing his investigation into turmoil.

"I was angry, frustrated and above all disappointed that I was not going to be able to carry through and finish bringing the indictments," writes Robert Fiske, a former U.S. attorney who served as the original independent counsel in charge of the Whitewater investigation, in a forthcoming memoir, "Prosecutor Defender Counselor."

Fiske — ever the punctilious prosecutor — offers no judgments on the conduct of the Clintons, nor on that of the man who replaced him, Kenneth Starr.

US Airstrikes Kill 22 Civilians in Iraqi Market

A Monday US airstrike against the ISIS-held town of Hit has killed at least 22 Iraqi civilians, and wounded many more, according to locals. The strikes hit a marketplace, along with apartments alongside the market.

Locals say they believe the intended target was a building containing ISIS fighters, just down the road, but the indications are that that building wasn’t hit, with locals saying it was likely a “mistake.”

At a DNC fundraiser today, President Barack Obama voiced a concern many Americans might now have. "[T]here’s a sense possibly that theworld is spinning so fast and nobody is able to control it," Obama told Democrats at the White Street Restaurant in New York, New York.

But Obama suggested that he has things under control.

Ebola: Why don't we just ban flights from Africa?

The World Health Organization has said repeatedly it does not recommend travel bans on the countries affected by the Ebola outbreakl because that would leave the countries cut off from the rest of the world, “resulting in detrimental economic consequences, and hinder relief and response efforts, risking further international spread.” http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/statements/2014/ebola-2nd-ihr-meet...

The key problem in travel bans, says the WHO and others, is that ending flights in and out of affected countries hinders these countries’ ability to receive the new supplies they so desperately need. As well, there are already not enough health workers on the ground in the affected countries. What foreign worker would willingly fly into the epidemic to offer assistance knowing they might not be allowed to fly back out?

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is about protecting the profits of the airline corporations as we head into the holiday travel season. The fact is that the United States maintains a military airlift capability that is the rival of any commercial airline and can go wherever they need to go. The US Government is still treating Ebola as a political and economic issue. They want people to keep buying airline tickets. They want people to flood into the shopping malls for the Christmas shopping season. They want to make sure everyone shows up to vote next month. And mostly they don't want people to start thinking that maybe it is time to stop waging wars against countries on the other side of the globe and spend the taxpayer's money to protect the US from a major epidemic.

First USA bombs Syria to get ISIS. Now they claim they must remove Assad to get ISIS

The airstrikes ordered by President Barack Obama have begun to degrade the Islamic State (ISIS), but will not be capable of eradicating the militant group unless Syrian President Bashar Assad is overthrown, say Arizona Sen. John McCain and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay, John and Lindsey, if you really feel that way, here are your rifles! Here are your parachutes. We ran out of the desert camo but here are a couple bright day-glo jumpsuits left over from the CIA torture centers. Watch your heads climbing into that transport plane, and we will call Assad and tell him you are on your way to kick his gluteus maximus all by yourself.

But We The People remember how the US Government has been trying to take over Syria using hired mercenaries for the last three years. We The People remember how you lied about Assad gassing his own people to trick us into war, which didn't work because we still remember how you lied about Saddam's nuclear weapons and stolen incubators to trick us into war with Iraq, and we remember how you lied about torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin to trick us into war with Vietnam, and how you lied to us about the Lusitania not carrying weapons to trick us into WW1, and how you lied about a Spanish mine in Havana harbor sinking the USS Maine to trick us into war with Spain ... need I go on?

So you will forgive us if we sit this next war for conquest and enrichment out and keep our children safe at home. But feel free to attack Assad all by yourself, and we will watch safely from home, as you in the government have always done when it was our children being killed and crippled in wars ultimately fought for the bankers!

Lights, Camera… Covert Action: The Deep Politics of Hollywood

A variety of state agencies have liaison offices in Hollywood today, from the FBI, to NASA and the Secret Service. Few of these agencies, though, have much to offer in exchange for favourable storylines, and so their influence in Hollywood is minimal. The major exception here is the Department of Defense, which has an ‘open’ but barely publicized relationship with Tinsel Town, whereby, in exchange for advice, men and invaluable equipment, such as aircraft carriers and helicopters, the Pentagon routinely demands flattering script alterations. Examples of this policy include changing the true identity of a heroic military character in Black Hawk Down (2001) due to his real-life status as a child rapist; the removal of a joke about “losing Vietnam” from the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and cutting images of Marines taking gold teeth from dead Japanese soldiers in Windtalkers (2002).

Why Won’t Obama Ban Air Travel From Countries Where Ebola Is Out Of Control?

Why does Barack Obama refuse to take even the most basic steps to protect Americans from Ebola? Even though it has already been demonstrated that Ebola can be brought over to the United States by a passenger on an airplane, Obama refuses to do anything that would even restrict air travel from nations where Ebola is spiraling out of control. Back in September, Obama said that it was "unlikely" that any individual with Ebola could get through the "extensive screening" at our airports and pose a threat to the general population. But he was wrong. That has already happened. And yet the official White House position is that there is "no consideration of a travel ban" at this point. What possible explanation is there for such gross negligence?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sweden, Palestine and the United States

Sweden’s new Prime Minister, Stefan Lofven, has announced that that nation will be the first of the European Union to grant official recognition to Palestine. To date, 134 of the 193 member states of the United Nations recognize Palestine. This is a reasonable step that will, hopefully, set the example for other European nations to do the same.

The United States, Israel’s best friend in all the world, and that bottomless pit of financial assistance for Israel, is, not surprisingly, seriously displeased. A spokeswoman for President Barack Obama said this: “We believe international recognition of a Palestinian state is premature. We certainly support Palestinian statehood, but it can only come through a negotiated outcome, a resolution of final status issues and mutual recognitions by both parties.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

If George Washington had held to the same policy as Obama, this nation would still be a part of the British Empire!

White House: Ebola Travel Ban Not Being Considered

Speaking to reporters from the White House Monday, Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters a travel ban to the United States from Ebola stricken countries isn't something being considered by the Obama administration as calls to implement restrictions grow louder.

"As it relates to the prospect of a travel ban, this is something they we're not, that's not being considered right now," Earnest said. "The concern that we have is that we are relying on the commercial transportation system to move supplies and personnel into the region to try to meet the needs of the individuals who are effected by Ebola and to stop this outbreak at the source. That is what will be critical to our broader success here so we don't want to obstruct one of the core components of our strategy here.

Obama Threatens More Sanctions Against Zimbabwe Over Russian-Platinum Deal

As Martin Armstrong exclaims, Obama is out of control. According to NewZimbabwe.com, Washington has said it will accelerate sanctions imposed against Harare in 2003, due to the Robert Mugabe-led government's closer ties with Russia over the US$3 billion Darwendale platinum project. Herald columnist Nathaniel Manheru (who is thought to be Mugabe's spokesman), reported, Washington explained its expectations on Zimbabwe, namely that Zimbabwe was expected (read required) to support those sanctions by avoiding any association with companies sanctioned by the Americans and their Western allies, or their subsidiaries or affiliates. Manheru said "it was ridiculous for the US to refuse to lift sanctions against Harare and then demand support for its measures against Moscow... Biden's Speech Might Backfire on Washington: Former Assistant Secretary of Treasury

Speech of the US Vice President Joe Biden can backfire on Washington, as it embarrasses the European Union members and demonstrates the US has intimidated them, Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, believes.

"One of the possible consequences is that his speech embarrasses European governments by showing that Europe is Washington's vassal," Roberts told RIA Novosti on Friday. "The other is that by pressing Europeans to act against their own interests, Washington might have been too much of a bully and hurt its future influence in Europe."

US Vice President said Thursday that the United States and US President Barack Obama, in particular, had forced the European Union members to "take economic hits to impose cost" on Russia.

The U.S. Dares to Criticize Israel

It seems that, perhaps, Israel’s latest slaughter of defenseless Palestinians may have been a bit too much even for the United States to condone. In what may be the U.S.’s harshest, although still quite mild, criticism of its puppet master, President Barack Obama said that the plan to increase illegal settlement building could alienate Israel from ‘even its closest allies’.

There is, of course, no closer ally of Israel than the United States. Israel is able to disdain international law, violate the most basic human rights of Palestinians, slaughter men, women and children, bomb United Nations refugee centers, kill journalists and commit genocide only because of U.S. funding and use of its veto power in the U.N.

But the U.S., this time, went even further in its criticism. State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that the newly-approved construction would cause the global community to ‘question Israel’s ultimate commitment to a peaceful negotiated settlement’ with Palestinians.

Biden says US 'embarrassed' EU into sanctioning Russia over Ukraine

“We’ve given Putin a simple choice: Respect Ukraine’s sovereignty or face increasing consequences,” Biden told a gathering at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum at Harvard University's Institute of Politics on Thursday.

The consequences were the sanctions which the EU imposed on Russia, first targeting individual politicians and businessmen deemed responsible for the crisis in Ukraine, then switching to the energy, defense, and economic sectors.

“It is true they did not want to do that,” Biden admitted.

“It was America’s leadership and the president of the United States insisting, oft times almost having to embarrass Europe to stand up and take economic hits to impose costs,” the US vice president declared.

Germany handed law-protected private data to NSA for years – reports

Intelligence service BND failed to protect the private data of German citizens as it handed over internet data collected at a Frankfurt traffic hub to the US, German media report citing secret documents.

The documents cited by VDR and EDR television and the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, which broke the news together, were obtained from the federal government during an ongoing parliamentary investigation into US National Security Service spying on German soil.

Just like the NSA is forbidden by the law to spy on Americans, the BND is not allowed to spy on Germans. So when last year in was revealed that the two intelligence services had been collaborating to collect communication data at the De-Cix internet exchange node in Frankfurt, the BND had to produce explanations.

The Konyism of Samantha Power, US Ambassador to the United Nations

Obama’s administration sinks in the quicksand of its liberal ambitions –few of its liberal foreign policy objectives have been met; not the closing down of Guantanamo’s prison, nor the tethering of an out-of-control surveillance apparatus, nor even the War on Terror in general. In fact, Obama has intensified the drone warfare in Yemen and Pakistan, and tethered itself to a resurgent Saudi Arabia on the back of Qatari withdrawal. To polish its carapace, the Obama administration has become a latter-day believer in gay rights on the world stage. Power went on Jay Leno’s program to talk about global LGBT rights and held a Google hangout with human rights activists where the issue of LGBT rights was center-stage (later, on twitter, Power mourned the loss of “Eric Ohena Lembembe, a courageous Cameroonian activist tortured to death last month”). Pollard, who was a civilian research analyst with high security clearance for the U.S. Navy, had agreed to spy for Israel for 10 years in exchange for more than $500,000. BEX ALERT - US jobless rate falls to 6-year low of 5.9 pct.

U.S. employers added 248,000 jobs in September, a burst of hiring that helped drive down the unemployment rate to 5.9 percent, the lowest since July 2008.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And JUST in time to help the Democrats in the mid-term elections next month!

This claim of 5.9 unemployment is about as real as Saddam's nuclear weapons. Looking at the labor participation rates at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, we find that the labor participation rate for September 2014 is actually 62.7%. That is the percentage of Americans willing and able to work who actually have a job. That means the real unemployment rate, Americans willing and able to work but who don't have a job, is actually at 37.3%, and even this number is suspect due to various manipulations under the rubric of "seasonal adjustments". The Bureau of Labor Statistics counts a part time job as a job, and one person working three part-time jobs as three jobs for the purposes of this calculation. Looking at the charts, it is clear that the labor participation rate has been in a decline all summer long.

No Obamacare Bailouts for Insurers Without Congressional Approval, Says GAO

y forcing Americans to buy their products, President Obama's signature Affordable Care Act is widely seen as a winning proposition for health insurance companies. Conscripted customers! What more could a well-connected business want? But the law's complex rules require insurers to cover the costs imposed by older and ailing customers with the payments from young and healthy customers. Potentially, a company could end up with a disproportionate ratio of sick customers drawn by the promise of subsidized coverage—drowning the seemingly winning proposition in red ink. If that happens, says the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the administration can't bail out insurers without permission from Congress.

EBOLA: Obama downplays danger from a highly infectious disease

Would Barack Hussein Obama ever lie to the America public?

Why, of course not.

That’s why wise and prudent Americans will keep an eye on the spread of Ebola in the U.S. and take announcements pooh-poohing the risk from Obama regime political appointees with a generous dose of salt.

Here’s what Thomas Frieden, director of US Centers for Disease Control had to say about this bug: “Ebola poses little risk to the U.S. general population,” and that its spread across the U.S. “is not in the cards”.

We certainly hope he’s right, but smart folks would be reluctant to bet their lives on it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

All jokes aside, the fact is that the US Government blew this one. They were so focused on playing their game of conquer-the-world and wagging a phony terror threat at us that they were oblivious to a real emerging problem. And even now as Ebola emerges here in the United States, the priority of the US Government does not seem to be the health of the population so much as keeping us all working, keeping us paying the bankers, making sure we all max out our credit cards for the coming holiday shopping season, maximizing the financial opportunity for the pharmaceutical corporations (whose generous donations are appreciated in these final weeks before the November mid-terms) and hey, it's not like we needed those people who actually did die anyway! So we are seeing this dual message on the corporate media that we should be in abject fear of a made-up terror threat, but Ebola, which has all but destroyed west African countries, is just no big deal worth getting your knickers in a twist about.

"ISIL crisis" plays right into Zionists hands

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's first Chief of Staff – who also served as Obama's Israeli Mossad handler – famously said: "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

Individuals, groups, whole industries, even nations sometimes take advantage of crises and catastrophes. Big bankers, for example, love war because it forces governments to borrow vast sums of money at compound interest. Arms manufacturers also make huge profits. And the big government always gets bigger during wartime as it confiscates people's wealth and scales back their rights.

Napoleon once famously remarked that “in politics, stupidity is not a handicap.” In few cases does this seem more apt than in that of Vice-President Joe Biden, perennial lapdog to the ADL’s Abraham Foxman. Biden has recently added to last year’s faux pas by recently committing the egregious sin of using the word “Shylocks” to describe mortgage lenders. As loyal readers of The Anti-New York Times are well aware of by now, yet unbeknown to most of the silly young University punks of Hong Kong, these types of protests are the clear handiwork of the CIA. FLASHBACK - The Lavon Affair: When Israel firebombed U.S. Installations to make it appear attacks were by ‘Muslim extremists,’ and how the US media cover it up

In their 1979 book, The Untold History of Israel, Israeli journalists Jacques Derogy and Hesi Carmel relate that in 1954 Israel’s army intelligence section conceived a plan to attack British personnel seconded to King Hussein’s government in Jordan. The purpose was to sour relations between Britain and Jordan as well as between both Jordan and Britain on the one hand and Egypt, which would be blamed for such attacks.

Shortly afterward, the same Israeli army intelligence organization activated two networks of Egyptian Jews first established in 1948. These young people had been recruited in Egypt, secretly trained in Israel, and then sent back to their homes in Cairo and Alexandria to await orders to carry out acts of sabotage in case of war between Egypt and Israel.

But since Israel’s seven-week-long onslaught on Gaza that robbed so many innocent lives and left 10,000 families homeless, he’s put diplomatic-speak on the shelf, as evidenced by his no holds-barred speech at the United Nations General Assembly last week.

Secret Service chief acknowledges White House intruder entered East Room, used unlocked door

Secret Service Director Julia Pierson admitted Tuesday that her agency's security plan fell apart when an intruder broke into the White House earlier this month -- entering through an unlocked door and making it all the way into the East Room -- as she faced heated questioning from lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At the risk of having the Secret Service invade our food distribution program again this Christmas, who the hell cares? Does Obama, after all the crimes against the Constitution and humanity, really think We The People are going to get our knickers in a twist because some nutcase wandered into the East Room of the White House? Does he actually think we will feel any sympathy for him because someone strolled through a portion of the White House that only exists to keep the West Wing from making the place look lopsided?

As ‘Advisers’ Role Expands, US ‘Boots on the Ground’ Already in Iraq

When talking up the ISIS war, President Obama always takes time to insist that he’s rule out boots on the ground. A new NBC/WSJ/Annenberg poll shows not that many Americans are believing him.

The poll showed 72% of Americans believe that the US will end up using ground troops in combat in the war on ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The poll showed Americans split roughly down the middle on whether a ground war would be acceptable, if demanded by Pentagon leadership.

Obama blames his intelligence chief for his own shortcomings, say critics

President Barack Obama denigrated the United States’ intelligence community in an interview broadcast Sunday evening for giving him and his White House an incorrect assessment of the capabilities of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), during his interview with newsman Steve Kroft, who has been accused of being an "Obama water carrier" by conservative viewers. Obama told Croft on the CBS TV Network's Sunday night edition of 60 Minutes that his "head of the intelligence community, James (Jim) Clapper... underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think the whole "we underestimated ISIS" is a ploy to sell the American people boots on the ground despite the early assurances this would not happen. Now Obama needs someone to drop the blame on.

The Khorosan Group Does Not Exist

For six years, President Obama has endeavored to will the country into accepting two pillars of his alternative national-security reality. First, he claims to have dealt decisively with the terrorist threat, rendering it a disparate series of ragtag jayvees. Second, he asserts that the threat is unrelated to Islam, which is innately peaceful, moderate, and opposed to the wanton “violent extremists” who purport to act in its name.

Now, the president has been compelled to act against a jihad that has neither ended nor been “decimated.” The jihad, in fact, has inevitably intensified under his counterfactual worldview, which holds that empowering Islamic supremacists is the path to security and stability. Yet even as war intensifies in Iraq and Syria — even as jihadists continue advancing, continue killing and capturing hapless opposition forces on the ground despite Obama’s futile air raids — the president won’t let go of the charade.

You Won’t Believe How Much Money Michelle Obama’s Ridiculous School Lunch Program Wastes On A Daily Basis

According to a WCPO report, Michelle Obama’s new school program is costing American taxpayers $4 million. And that’s not over the course of an entire year. That is how much it is costing American taxpayers on a daily basis. That’s right; $4 million each day.

A whopping 81 percent of schools have seen an increase in the number of lunches that now end up in the trash. The report also “shows that 60 percent of fresh vegetables and 40 percent of fresh fruit are being thrown away.”

Being the first lady does not mean Michelle is competent at anything (other than her ability to seduce and marry Obama). And just as you do not allow a doctor's spouse or a pilot's fiancee to take over their duties, nor should the first lady be accorded any authority over our lives merely because of who she married.

Obama Blasts Brutality and Bullying, but Not by Israel

When U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the U.N. General Assembly Wednesday, he was outspoken in his criticism of Russia for bullying Ukraine, Syria for its brutality towards its own people, and terrorists of all political stripes for the death and destruction plaguing Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Somalia.

But as the New York Times rightly pointed out, Obama made only a “fleeting” reference to Israel and Palestine in his 47-minute speech to the world body.

US criticizes Abbas' speech at UN General Assembly

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement on Friday that Mahmud Abbas’ speech, in which he said Israel conducted a “war of genocide” in Gaza, was “offensive”.

Israel unleashed aerial attacks on Gaza in early July and later expanded its military campaign with a ground invasion into the Palestinian territory. Over 2,130 Palestinians lost their lives and some 11,000 were injured.

US in 'near continuous' strikes against ISIS in Syria

The U.S.-led coalition widened its airstrikes against ISIS in Syria on Saturday as part of "near continuous" raids against the jihadists.

The targets were said to include ISIS fighters around the mainly Kurdish town of Ain al-Arab where a jihadist advance has sent 160,000 refugees streaming into nearby Turkey.

The coalition also hit ISIS in the central province of Homs for the first time as well as in the town of Minbej, near the western limit of the group's control, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The expanded operations in Syria by Washington and its Arab allies came after three more European governments deployed fighter jets for strikes against ISIS in Iraq, freeing up U.S. air power.

US Bombed ‘Empty Buildings’ in Airstrikes on ISIL in Syria

According CNN Middle East correspondent Arwa Damon (photo, above), residents from the town of Raqqa, in northeastern Syria had “mixed reactions to US strikes”. The reason given was a real shocker:

Damon revealed on air early Wednesday that ISIL terrorists who were held up in the town may have been tipped off weeks in advance to the US airstrikes on Tuesday. According to Damon:

“15-20 days before the airstrikes, (ISIL) buildings were evacuated, and fighters then mixed in with the local population”.

Maybe Damon let the truth slip out by accident, or maybe she was trying to do what US journalists so often are not allowed to do by challenging Washington’s prefabricated narrative. Regardless, CNN’s chief war enthusiast Wolf Blitzer did not feel the need to pursue the point.

Hezbollah: US Bombing Iraqi Army, Popular Forces' Positions Not ISIL

Iraq's Hezbollah Battalions complained that US warplanes have intentionally bombarded the positions of the Iraqi army and the volunteer forces in the Northern Babil province for the second time in the last month on the pretext of targeting ISIL strongholds.

"The intentional bombing of armed forces and popular forces shows wicked intentions of the US and the international cover-up of this attempt on the pretext of fighting ISIL," an informed source from Iraq's Hezbollah Battalions told the Arabic-language Al-Moslah news website.

"Had the United States been honest in its claims, it would have targeted the ISIL positions in Jorf Al-Sakhar, Faloujah, and other regions identified by us instead of striking the Army and popular forces in Al-Awisat in Northern Babil last Wednesday," the source said.

PR Firm Pulls ‘Emma Watson Naked Pics’ False Flag to Push For Internet Censorship

A PR firm has admitted to carrying out an online false flag against the 4chan forum in which it blamed the website for a threat to release naked pictures of actress Emma Watson as part of an appeal to President Barack Obama to censor the Internet.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Anyone foolish enough to take nude pictures and put them on the web is just asking for trouble, and the reality is that more than a few stars intentionally plant nude pictures of themselves where they will be "discovered" as part of the campaign to increase their fame and "bankability." Setting that aside, this whole episode reminds us that the government and corporate media persist in trying to find ways to shut down the open and free internet and turn it into just another government and corporate controlled content and propaganda delivery system. Public Relations firms are paid vast amounts of money to engage in activities which for normal civilians would be punishable as crimes.
