ROSENSTEIN NO LONGER EXPECTED TO APPEAR BEFORE CONGRESS

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is no longer expected to testify before Congress this week about reports that he offered to wear a wire in meetings with President Donald Trump.

“We have many questions for Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and expect answers to those questions. There is not at this time a confirmed date for a potential meeting,” an aide to the House Judiciary Committee told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“Don’t think he is coming,” one Republican lawmaker said Wednesday regarding Rosenstein.

Donald Trump Endorses Prison Reform; Jeff Sessions ‘Overruled’

President Donald Trump endorsed prison reform on Thursday, warning Attorney General Jeff Sessions to get on board with the idea.
Trump said he is interested in reducing sentences for people like Alice Marie Johnson, a nonviolent drug offender whose life sentence the president commuted in June.

“There has to be a reform because it’s very unfair right now,” Trump said. “It’s very unfair to African Americans. It’s unfair to everybody. And it’s also very costly,” the president commented on Thursday morning in a phone interview with Fox & Friends.

Trump plans to meet with hip-hop superstar Kanye West at the White House on Thursday to discuss prison reform and other issues important to the black community.

Trump questioned some of the life sentences for nonviolent drug offenders but said he would continue to be tough on crime in other ways. He noted that West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, was also pushing for prison reform.

Ukraine is preparing a provocation in the Sea of ??Azov with the aim of discrediting the Russian Border Guard, a source in the Crimea claimed.

“On October 11, agents of the Ukrainian Border Service plan to organize the departure of a patrol vessel from the port of Mariupol to the Sea of ??Azov with a group of Ukrainian media journalists on board. STARVING UKRAINE ARMY LOOTING AND PILLAGING DONBASS LOCALS

INTRIGUE SURROUNDS THE WAR, WITH STARVING UKRAINE ARMY LOOTING AND PILLAGING DONBASS LOCALS

A starving and demoralized Ukrainian military, in the part of Donbass under their control, are pillaging grocery stores and taking food from the local population. This is alarming for a number of reasons beyond the obvious fact of crimes being committed against a civilian population. In this Ukrainian army, we are expected to believe that their stocks and force projection has been growing.

It is through this mechanism that Poroshenko seems to want to push his drive for war, in order to secure the election, by turning out the support of the Gacilian and Ukropian populace. But at the same time, we are seeing some Kievan oligarchs talk of peace and love and rejoining with the Donbass not through war, but through dialogue, restoration of pensions, and many things which surely are compatible with Yulia Tymoshenko’s electoral strategy

IMF chief defends Beijing from currency manipulation claims

IMF chief Lagarde dismisses idea Beijing is manipulating the yuan as Washington turns up the heat
Christine Lagarde says the yuan’s decline of 10.5 per cent against the greenback since February ‘has a lot to do with the strength of the dollar’

International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde has dismissed the idea that China is manipulating its currency to gain a competitive advantage, giving verbal support to Beijing as Washington reiterates its concerns about the yuan’s exchange rate.

Lagarde’s remarks on Thursday came just a day after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin warned China not to engage in a competitive devaluation of its currency.

Mnuchin was quoted by the Financial Times on Wednesday as saying that the Treasury monitored currency issues “very carefully” and that the Chinese yuan, also known as renminbi, had fallen “significantly” during the year. He added that he wanted to discuss the currency with Beijing as part of trade talks.

ABC Scolds Melania on #MeToo, Kavanaugh: ‘Some Might Say’ ‘You Need to Stand With Women’

“We also asked the First Lady about some of the major events that have shaped and rocked her husband's White House and the country, including the #MeToo movement,” Llamas gushed, playing clips of Trump saying he supported Kavanaugh. He then asked, “What is your take about the #MeToo movement, though? Do you believe in them? Do you support the #MeToo movement?”

Trump responded that everyone raising accusations and those accused needed to be heard and supported. Llamas tried to trap Trump with another gotcha question, asking, “Do you think men in the news that have been accused of sexual assault, sexual harrassment have been treated unfairly?”

Trump appealed to the need for “hard evidence,” before Llamas tried to shame her, again, scolding, “Some women might hear that and say how could you say that Mrs. Trump? You need to stand with women! What would you say?”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Trump asked Abe to allow one of his top donors to open casino in Japan: report

U.S. President Donald Trump has asked Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to "strongly consider" granting a license to build a casino in Japan for an American company run by a top Trump donor, a U.S. media outlet reported Wednesday.

Trump raised Sheldon Adelson's casino bid with his company, Las Vegas Sands, in a meeting with Abe in February 2017 at the president's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, ProPublica said, citing two people briefed on the meeting.

Trump's push surprised Abe's entourage and the prime minister "didn't really respond, and said thank you for the information," one of the sources said, according to ProPublica, known for producing investigative journalism, in an article titled, "Trump's Patron-in-Chief."

The president raising a top donor's personal business interests directly with a foreign leader would violate long-standing norms, the article said.

Goodbye, Nikki Haley

There are plenty of juicy theories about the real reason Nikki Haley suddenly stepped down from her perch as UN Ambassador, but my favorite is the one that has her authoring the anonymous New York Times op ed by an alleged administration insider claiming that “the adults in the room” were busy undermining the President’s worst impulses, like getting us out of unnecessary foreign entanglements.

Leaving aside her nasty pre-nomination digs at Trump, the two clashed repeatedly in public during her tenure. When Haley announced in April that new sanctions would be imposed on Russia, the White House told reporters that she was subject to a “momentary confusion.” “With all due respect,” she snapped, “I don’t get confused.” Yet she was apparently setting her own policy when it came to Ukraine, NATO, and North Korea, all areas where she diverged from the President’s “America First” agenda.

Trump Says Considering Dina Powell to Substitute Haley as UN Envoy

US President Donald Trump said he is considering his former deputy national security adviser Dina Powell for the position of US ambassador to the United Nation.

When asked if Trump would consider Powell to replace Haley, he told reporters on Tuesday, "Dina’s certainly a person I would consider, and she is under consideration."

Trump added that his daughter Ivanka would be a great choice as well, but he would be accused of nepotism.

'She doesn't get it. That's why she lost.' Trump fires back at Hillary for calling his White House ceremony for Brett Kavanaugh 'a political rally'

FLASHBACK - Trump says it will be hard to unify country without a ‘major event’

Hours before his first State of the Union, President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he wants to unite the country amid "tremendous divisiveness" and hopes he can do so without a traumatic event affecting Americans.

Trump spoke about creating a more united country during a lunch with a number of television news anchors. Trump said the United States has long been divided, including during the impeachment of former president Bill Clinton. Trump also said that Americans usually come together during times of suffering.

"I would love to be able to bring back our country into a great form of unity," Trump said. "Without a major event where people pull together, that's hard to do. But I would like to do it without that major event because usually that major event is not a good thing."

The president also said the country's divisions date back to both Republican and Democratic administrations, citing the scandals that led to Clinton's impeachment by the House in 1998.

As Nikki Haley Resigns, Critics Forced to Clarify That "Pro-War, Pro-Imperialist" Sycophant for Trump Is No "Moderate"

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley unexpectedly announced her resignation on Tuesday, but informed critics are raising their voices in the aftermath of the news to make sure nobody gets away with describing the outgoing diplomat—who said she will serve in the position until the end of the year—as anything other than what she is: a sycophant for President Donald Trump and a horrible war-monger who used her powerful position to push a neoconservative foreign policy while undermining global goodwill, overtly attacking human rights, and making the world a more dangerous place. While some news outlets and commenters ignored historical evidence as they attempted to frame Haley as a "moderate" voice in the Trump administration and Republicans applauded her "moral clarity," progressive critics hit back hard against such blatantly false characterizations.

Former FBI lawyer: Plot to record, remove Trump not a joke

Don’t tell former FBI general counsel James Baker that those now-infamous discussions about secretly recording President Donald Trump and using the tapes to remove him from office were a joke.

He apparently doesn’t believe it. And he held quite the vantage point — he was on the inside of the bureau’s leadership in May 2017, when the discussions occurred.

Baker told Congress last week that his boss — then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe — was dead serious about the idea of surreptitiously recording the 45th president and using the evidence to make the case that Trump should be removed from office, according to my sources.

Baker told lawmakers he wasn’t in the meeting that McCabe had with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in which the subject came up. But he did have firsthand conversations with McCabe and the FBI lawyer assigned to McCabe, Lisa Page, about the issue.

America Has Become Even More Dangerous

The confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh by the US Senate may seem unremarkable to the three dozen or so nations now targeted by US sanctions and impending “color revolutions.” The list has expanded, India, China and Russia of course, but in truth, there is no end to the list. The issue is world conquest, and the unanswered questions are “by whom” and “for what purpose.”

The mechanism, military and financial war, “hard and soft war,” as they call it in Washington and can only be achieved with total control of America’s political system. The only way that can occur is with rigged elections, a congress and presidency under control as well and the Supreme Court of the United States ready to overrule any tries to reinstitute democracy or reform.

This is how it is, now with Kavanaugh worse than ever, and in fact, how it has always been. America was never intended to be a democracy.>>>

Trump to announce pro-ethanol measure on Tuesday ahead of Iowa trip -sources

President Donald Trump is expected to announce the lifting of a federal ban on summer sales of higher-ethanol blends of gasoline on Tuesday in Washington DC ahead of a trip to Iowa the same day, according to two sources familiar with the planning of the event.

The move, expected sometime around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, is aimed at helping Republicans in competitive elections in the nation's farm belt. Iowa is the largest U.S. producer of ethanol.

The lifting of the summer ban on so-called E15 gasoline is expected to be coupled with restrictions on trading biofuel credits that underpin the program, the sources said, but it's unclear whether the restrictions will be detailed or left up to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to decide.

The Final Truth of Russia-gate

The conspiracy to overthrow a sitting US President extends far beyond our own “Deep State.” As I’ve been saying in this space for quite some time, it’s been an international team effort from the beginning. Setting aside the British origins of the obscene “dossier” compiled by “ex”-MI6 agent Christopher Steele, we now have further confirmation of foreign involvement in President Trump’s decision to delay (perhaps indefinitely) the declassification of key Russia-gate documents. While US intelligence officials were expected to oppose the move, “Trump was also swayed by foreign allies, including Britain, in deciding to reverse course, these people said. It wasn’t immediately clear what other governments may have raised concerns to the White House.”

UKRAINE: WE LACK THE MONEY & WEAPONS TO FINISH EVEN ONE NAVAL MISSILE CRUISER
“Unfortunately, I cannot advise any positive solution, because in reality the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot afford to have such a high-class ship from the point of view of price, to finish its assembly and to use it fully,” he said in an interview with a Ukrainian edition.

According to him, the construction of the cruiser could “significantly increase the capabilities” of Ukraine in the Black Sea. However, it acknowledged that even if it receives the necessary resources, the country will not be able to guarantee its equipment, since it does not have the necessary anti-aircraft defense, monitoring, fire control and anti-missile defense systems.

In 1998, the authorities tried to complete the construction, but faced a shortage of resources. Then the possibility of selling the ship to Russia was discussed. Already in 2013, the Ukrainian side proposed to finalize the construction of the ship by passing it onto Russian companies, but could not reach agreement with Moscow.

In March 2017, Pyotr Poroshenko signed a decree on the use of the cruiser for civil purposes.

This comes as relations between Kiev and Moscow have been strained since the right-wing coup in 2014.>>>

US Rotates To Ukraine As Location To Start Conflict With Russia

The United States Government is now treating Ukraine as if it were a NATO member, and on September 27th donated to Ukraine two warships for use against Russia. This is the latest indication that the US is switching to Ukraine as the locale to start World War III, and from which the nuclear war is to be sparked against Russia, which borders Ukraine.

Here is why Syria is no longer the US alliance’s preferred choice as a place to start WW III:

On September 4th, US President Donald Trump publicly threatened Syria, Iran and Russia that if they exterminated the jihadists in Syria’s only remaining jihadist-controlled province, Idlib, then the US might launch a full-scale invasion against Syria, Iran and Russia in Syria. Either the US or Russia would then quickly escalate to nuclear war so as not to lose in Syria — that would be the conventional-war start to World War III.

Arab Daily: Trump's Remarks Big Slap Across Saudis' Face, Prove Iran's Power

TEHRAN (FNA)- A leading Arab newspaper blasted the Saudi officials' silence on the insulting remarks by US President Donald Trump, noting that it was a big slap at Riyadh and showed Iran's power.

Trump told supporters Tuesday that Saudi Arabia and its King would not last "two weeks" in power without American military support and appeared to call on the country to pay more for its own defense, the Arabic-language al-Ray al-Youm reported on Saturday.

"We protect Saudi Arabia. Would you say they're rich? And I love the King ... King Salman but I said 'King, we're protecting you. You might not be there for two weeks without us. You have to pay for your military," Trump said.

The newspaper wrote that international observers are surprised at Riyadh's continued silence on Trump's insulting comments.

It added that the US president's remarks are considered as a slap across the face of the Saudi army and admission of Iran's hegemony and power.

Beijing’s Challenge To US Warship In South China Sea ‘Deliberate And Calculated’

By the normal rules for ensuring navigational safety ‘there’s no way we would see ships getting so close’, analyst says

China was making a clear and deliberate statement that it will not tolerate challenges to its sovereignty when it sent a destroyer to “confront” a US warship in the South China Sea on Sunday, military and diplomatic analysts said.

The incident happened when a Chinese Luyang-class destroyer sailed within 41 metres (135 feet) of the USS Decatur in an operation described by Washington as “unsafe and unprofessional” and by Beijing as a necessary defence of its territory.

Going by the normal rules of the road for ensuring navigational safety, there’s no way we would see ships getting so close like this,” said Collin Koh, a research fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

America’s Message: Time To Pick Sides In The South China Sea

Chinese leaders may have been US Vice-President Mike Pence’s main target audience this week as he issued Washington’s most blistering broadside on Beijing in recent years, but analysts say there was also a message for regional countries caught up in the proxy battle for supremacy between the two juggernauts in the disputed South China Sea: pick your side.

The address – which immediately drew fire from China for its “unwarranted accusations” – suggests that President Donald Trump’s administration is on the brink of intensifying the ongoing trade war between the countries into a more broad-based cold war-esque confrontation, they say.

In such a scenario, China’s neighbours, from Vietnam to Malaysia and Singapore, may be cajoled into taking sides after years of delicately balancing their relationships with both superpowers.

A new law signed this week by U.S. President Donald Trump raises the likelihood that America will end its financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority’s security forces.

Law gives American courts jurisdiction to seize assets from any entity that receives foreign assistance from the U.S.

Legislation exposes PA to potential lawsuits over past terrorism and could even lead it to bankruptcy

Since Reagan’s time, there are few conservatives who have not been called one or more of the names in Hillary Clinton’s litany of devils, her “basket of deplorables” — racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, bigoted, irredeemable. -- The battle over Kavanaugh’s nomination, and the disparagement of the Republicans who have stood strongest by the judge, seems to have awakened even the most congenial to the new political reality. -- We are all deplorables now.

TRUMP’S TRADE WAR AND ESCALATION OF US-CHINA STANDOFF

Tensions between the US and China are rising in the economic, diplomatic and military spheres. The economic policy of the administration of US President Donald Trump as well as the US strategy aimed at deterring growing Chinese military capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region and Chinese influence around the world in general have led to an open economic and diplomatic conflict between the two states.

Since the start of 2018, the US has imposed a series of tariffs on a wide range of Chinese goods and, according to President Trump, is ready to make further steps in order to defend US national interests.

Chinese Trade Tariffs Stop US Oil Imports Dead in the Water

Although U.S. crude oil exports to China were excluded from the tariff war, oil importers have shied away from new orders recently.

Bilateral trade wars have completely suspended U.S. oil shipments to China as import tariffs stifle the promising business venture, the China Merchant Energy Shipping Co (CMES) said Wednesday.

Is China Turning Trump's Oil Weapon Against Him?

Usually when referring to the so-called oil weapon, analysts are talking about the decades old policy of major oil producing nations withholding production to tighten supplies and drive prices up, often driven by geopolitical motivations.

The most nefarious example of this came in 1973 when middle eastern producers, led by Saudi Arabia, cut oil imports to the U.S. and a number of Western countries. Two other embargoes took place in both 1956 and 1967 with less than stellar results. Their objective, especially in 1967 and 1973, was to force countries that supported Israel to change their foreign policies and to also put pressure on Israel to withdraw from the territories it occupied during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, often called the Six Day War.

What appears to have faded from public memory is that the U.S. has used the oil weapon more than OPEC>>>

US Navy Wants Major War Exercise in South China Sea - Report

Following a dramatic close call between US and Chinese destroyers in the South China Sea, the US Navy’s Pacific Fleet wants to put on a major show of force in the body of water before the end of the year.

Military officials told CNN Wednesday that the Navy wanted to send warships and aircraft through the South China Sea — and close to Chinese-claimed islands — in November to send a message to Beijing.

Sanctions against Russia and the information war carried out by the West are not helping to resolve the crisis in eastern Ukraine, the Russian Foreign

Webmaster's Commentary:

No, these US military officials do not want "war games"; they actually have the hubris to believe that the US could make mincemeat of the Chinese military, in a very quick and totally humiliating way.

I, for one, do not see that outcome from these "war games", I would like to hope that we have at least a few "adults in the room", in both Beijing and DC, to insure that both the US and China walk back from the brink of this military misadventure, this coming vortex of bombs and bullets, to which we are apparently being dragged.

I, for one, do not want to see this happen, and I think adult Americans and Chinese do not want to see this happening, either.

Secretary of State Pompeo said Wednesday that the United States is terminating the Treaty of Amity reached with Iran in pre-revolutionary days, calling it an “absolute absurdity” given the tensions between the two countries.

On the other, they are confronted with their insatiable greed, obstinance, bellicosity, arrogance, and inability to differentiate short term from long term interests. These two insurmountable boundaries which define Zionist thinking is what has been leading the doomed project to its eventual dissolution.

Therefore, the news that Israel is not satisfied with the emergence of the S-300 in Syria, but yet cannot fail to carry out military operations in the neighboring country, is of no surprise. China Halts All Oil Imports from US Amid Escalating Trade War

America’s second-largest oil client, China, completely stopped buying crude from the United States as trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies continue to grow. While oil has not been included on the list of bilateral tariffs, Chinese refiners have been staying away from buying crude from the US.
***
China’s crude oil imports from America reached an average of 334,880 barrels per day through August, making Beijing the second-largest buyer of US oil after Canada.

In fact, China may be the largest buyer of American crude since much of the oil imported by Canada is re-exports – Canadian crude that briefly crosses into the US on pipelines before re-entering Canada. After ending a 40-year ban on oil exports in late 2015, the US has ramped up sales to two million barrels per day (bpd).

The politicisation of the Palestinian right of return is imperative

In its annual report to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People recommended that Israel acknowledges the Palestinian Nakba. The backdrop for such an acknowledgement remains the two-state compromise, which defeats the purpose of the recommendation.

Such recognition, according to the report, is “a necessary requirement for a viable and lasting peace.” The Committee also recommended that “Palestine refugees should be treated as dispossessed nationals of a country – Palestine – rather than stateless refugees.” It refuted the framing of colonisation as “conflict”, stating, “It is not a conflict between two parties over disputed territory. It is one of one State occupying, colonising and annexing the territory of another state.”

The proposal means US ships and aircraft will be operating close to Chinese forces and is expected to trigger a strong reaction from Beijing.

New Nafta clause may be first US step to extend its currency manipulator criteria to global trade deals

The USMCA foreign exchange clause may be an initial attempt by the US to extend its currency manipulator criteria to other trade deals in an attempt to hem in managed exchange rate regimes, such as China’s

Agreement (USMCA), which replaces and updates the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta), is a chapter on “macroeconomic policies and exchange rate matters”, which could set a precedent for the US negotiating further trade deals with other countries, say analysts.

Chapter 33 addresses countries artificially devaluing their currencies to gain an unfair competitive advantage in international trade. It is the first time such a clause has been included in a major trade agreement.

The clause only applies to the three countries in the USMCA agreement, where there is no controversy on respective exchange rates

Three New Yorkers suing to stop test of presidential alert system on Wednesday

Three New Yorkers are attempting to halt a scheduled test of a system that will allow President Trump and future presidents to send alert messages to the phones of all Americans.

J.B. Nicholas, Kristine Rakowsky, and Liana Nikitovich filed a lawsuit last week to a U.S. District Court in Manhattan, which argues that the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System, run by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, violates free speech rights and is an unconstitutional seizure of electronic devices, Politico reports.

A test of the system is scheduled to take place Wednesday. The first test was originally planned for Sept. 20, but it was delayed due to Hurricane Florence, which made landfall over the Carolinas in the middle of the moth.

The plaintiffs are worried that the system will turn into "government loudspeakers," which would allow presidents to send propaganda, according to the suit.

R-E-S-PE-C-T: US Threat of Preemptive Strike on Russia ‘Impossible to Take Seriously’

US Envoy to NATO Kay Bailey Hutchison threatened on Tuesday to “take out” banned cruise missiles allegedly in development in Russia before they become operational.

Moscow denies they are developing a medium-range ground-launched system in violation of the Cold War era Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.

But should the alleged system become operational, "At that point, we would be looking at the capability to take out a missile that could hit any of our countries," Hutchison told reporters, referring to European allies of the US. "Countermeasures would be to take out the missiles that are in development by Russia in violation of the treaty."
