'Europe's once-most secure leader now HUMILIATED' Merkel undermined ahead of crucial talks

German Chancellor Angela Merkel - weakened by a humiliating election setback in September - has fallen from "Europe's most powerful leader to one of its most insecure".

Simpson told Radio 4's Today programme: "No-one would have predicted it, but she is far less secure in her job than Theresa May is in hers.
