U.S. Troops Put On Highest Alert For Any North Korea Provocation

The commander of the U.N. Command/Combined Forces Command/United States Forces Korea made the order during a visit to the Osan Air Base.

U.S. forces in South Korea were put on their highest level of alert on Monday in case of any provocation from North Korea, following North Korea's nuclear test last week.

Curtis Scaparrotti, Commander, U.N. Command/Combined Forces Command/United States Forces Korea (USFK), made the order during a visit to the Osan Air Base, operated jointly by the United States and South Korea, a USFK official said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly don't think there will be any more "provocations" on the North Korean side here.

What Kim Jung Un wants here is a real peace treaty to replace the armistice, which is is simply a cessation of war, which has been in place for far too many years.

Serious, good faith negotiations on the part of the US, China, and South Korea could end North Korea's nuclear ambitions in a heartbeat; but of course, because this is a logical step, you can bet your sweet bippy that the US is not even going to entertain such a move.
