Tens of Civilians Killed in US Air Raid on ISIL Prison in Deir Ezzur

US-led coalition fighter jets bombed an ISIL-run prison in residential areas in Southeastern Deir Ezzur on Tuesday afternoon, and killed scores of civilians who had been jailed by the terrorist group, a militant-affiliated news website reported on Wednesday.

Arabic-language website, Orient, quoted local sources as reporting that the warplanes targeted an ISIL-run jail in the town of Hajin in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, destroying several residential units.

It further said that scores of civlian inmates who had been round up and jailed by the ISIL were killed in the air attack.

There is yet no report on the precise number of casualties, but a large death toll is expected as large groups of people had been locked up in the prison by the ISIL.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 15, 2018: ISRAELI DEFENSE MINISTER RESIGNS AMID SETBACKS IN GAZA, SYRIA

On November 14, Avigdor Lieberman announced his resignation describing the Egyptian-mediated ceasefire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip as “a capitulation to terror”. Lieberman added that he fiercely objected to Israel’s allowing Qatar to deliver $15m in aid to Gaza last week.

Hamas called Lieberman’s resignation a “political victory for Gaza.” Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri said that this development marked “recognition of defeat and failure to confront the Palestinian resistance”, adding that “Gaza’s steadfastness sent a political shockwave” through Israel.

WATCH Syrians Carry Assad on Their Shoulders, Thanking Him for Liberation

Residents of the Syrian province of Suwayda, grateful for their liberation from the captivity of Daesh* terrorists, lifted Syrian President Bashar Assad onto their shoulders during an official reception.

President Bashar Assad met with the liberated Syrians and their families on Tuesday.

In a video clip published by the media outlet Al-Watan, several men lift Assad into the air, with one of them putting the nation's president on his shoulders. Assad's head even grazes the chandelier hanging in the room.

Then they are seen chanting slogans in support of Assad and Syria.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 14, 2018: TURKISH-PKK CONFLICT ESCALATES AMID FRESH PKK ATTACKS

The People’s Defense Forces (HPG), a military wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), claimed that it had attacked 6 military bases in the southern Turkish provinces of Hakkari and Sirnak on November 9 and November 10. The HPG stated that 17 Turkish soldiers were killed and 32 others were wounded as a result of the attack. 8 soldiers are also missing, according to the HPG.

It should be noted that early on November 10 that the PKK also carried out an attack on several targets inside and south of the capital of Sirnak province with seven armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to Turkish sources, the UAVs failed to reach their targets due to technical failures and possible jamming by the Turkish military.

US-Led Coalition Used Cluster Munitions During Strikes on Deir Ez-Zor - Reports

The strikes were the second reported instance of US-coalition forces carrying out deadly strikes in the town of al-Sha'afa, Der ez-Zor this week, with Syrian media earlier reporting that over 60 civilians had been killed or injured in deadly coalition airstrikes in the town on Monday.

The US-led coalition resorted to the use of cluster munitions in airstrikes on the towns of al-Sha'afa and Hajin, the Syrian Arab News Agency has reported, citing local media and civilian sources.

The news follows reports from earlier this week that over 60 civilians were killed or injured by a US-led coalition airstrike in al-Sha'afa, Der ez-Zor province this week, along with a separate attack in the city of Hajin earlier this month, which reportedly killed over 15 civilians, mostly women and children.

Israel Proposes Forming Int'l Coalition in Paris to Push Iran out of Syria

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held Sunday a series of meetings in Paris in the framework of his intensive efforts to combat Iranian activity in Syria and Lebanon and work on “recruiting the world behind the demand to expel Iranians completely from Syrian territory.”

Netanyahu arrived in Paris and met the French President, Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the commemorations marking 100 years since the end of World War I. He urged Macron to use his influence in Lebanon to put more pressure on Lebanese President Michel Aoun and PM Saad Hariri’s government in regards to Iran's advanced weapons factories on Lebanese soil as well as against Iranian activity in Syria.

US-Led Coalition Transfers Daesh Terrorists From Syria's Hasakah

According to SANA's earlier reports, over 60 civilians were killed or injured in an airstrike carried out by the US-led coalition on the town of al-Sha'afa in eastern Deir ez-Zor.

The US-led coalition evacuated the other day a number of Daesh* terrorists by helicopter from the province of Hasakah to some unknown location, SANA reported.

"On November 10, the helicopters of the international coalition led by the US evacuated supposedly three militants out of As-Suwayda village in the north-eastern part of Hasakah province and headed in an unknown direction," the agency cited its sources as saying.

European Parliament ‘shocked’ at amount of EU-made weapons in hands of terrorists

A draft report on arms exports, which will be tabled at the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg later this week, suggests launching an investigation into how EU-made weapons end up in the possession of terrorists in the Middle East.

One provision of the document, presented by German MEP Sabine Lösing, says that the European Parliament is “shocked at the amount of EU-made weapons and ammunition found in the hands of Daesh* in Syria and Iraq.”

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 12, 2018: CLASHES ERUPT BETWEEN MILITANTS AND SYRIAN ARMY IN IDLIB DE-ESCALATION ZONE

On November 10th, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) announced that its special forces attacked a position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the Turkman mount in Northern Lattakia. The terrorist group claimed that 10 Syrian soldiers were killed.

Earlier on the same day, the group claimed that its special forces killed 18 Syrian soldiers and 7 Russian service members during an attack of an “operations room” of the SAA in the village of al-Tarbi’a in the northern Hama countryside.

Omar al-Mahmoud, an HTS military commander told the group’s news network Iba’a that the attack was a response to an SAA attack on a position of Jaysh al-Izza on the previous day. The attack reportedly left more than 23 Jaysh al-Izza fighters and commanders dead. The casualties were confirmed by the militant group. In both cases, HTS claims were not confirmed by any vide or photo evidence.

On November 11, sporadic clashes between militants and the SAA continued in northern Hama and northern Lattakia.

US Airstrikes Kill at Least 41 Civilians in Eastern Syria

Aiming to support a struggling Kurdish invasion of the area, a flurry of US-led airstrikes against the ISIS-held town of Hajin, in eastern Syria, killed at least 41 civilians, including 17 children over the past several days.

The death toll was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, who warned it was likely that the toll would further rise because of the number of wounded. The US has yet to comment on the attacks.

That’s become increasingly common. US officials have been less and less transparent about their overseas operations, and nowhere is this more glaring than in Syria. In recent months, despite very well established US strikes, the Pentagon has claimed virtually no casualties in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Because the murder of children and infants seems to be off this government's radar, I felt it a moral imperative to witness to what the US military is doing in Syria.

And if there is any notice of it, you can bet that these kids will be characterized as "collateral damage", as though their lives didn't have any meaning, or were as worthless as trash.

US Hopes Russia Will Allow Israel to Bomb Iranian Forces in Syria

The US is seeking to push all foreign military forces from Syria, the US ambassador to the country said. Besides Russian ones, of course.

US Ambassador to Syria James Jeffrey said Wednesday that Washington hopes Russia will allow Israeli forces to bomb Iranian military forces in Syrian territory after the delivery of S-300 air defense systems.

"Russia has been permissive, in consultation with the Israelis, about Israeli strikes against Iranian targets inside Syria. We certainly hope that that permissive approach will continue," Jeffrey said during a press conference, according to Business Insider.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know the Russian translation of "no way!" is, but I am hoping that is what the Russians will tell the Israelis.

Should such a thing happen, if an Israeli plane is able to "take out" one of the S-300 systems, you will most likely find the Russian forces in hot, military pursuit.

And of course, the US would have to defend Israel, militarily, in Syria, so the danger may be both real and critically and far beyond any way of "defusing" of the situation.

Israel Seeks Closer Cooperation with Gulf States over Fears of Iran – Report

The visit of Israeli Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz to Oman earlier this week has signaled a change of policy in the region, observers say.

Earlier this week, Katz arrived in Oman — reportedly to propose a new railway project that would connect Israel's Haifa to the Persian Gulf through Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

During his visit, he also called for stronger relations with the Persian Gulf Arab states in civilian sectors such as transportation, commercial aviation and tourism, PressTV reports.

The trip was one more in a chain of visits by Israeli officials to Gulf States — the most important of which was the surprise visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Oman several weeks earlier.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel is not afraid of Iran, but wants to have the Gulf States lined up behind them, if they are able to create a situation leading to a shooting war against Iran.

Syrian Forces Free Hostages, Launch Offensive Against Daesh in Safa Region

Some 1,500 Daesh terrorists are believed to remain in this area of southern Syria.

As the Syrian armed forces steadily regain control over their country's territory, an offensive has been launched against the remnants of Daesh in the Safa Volcanic Field in southern Syria.

The offensive became possible after Syrian forces freed 19 civilians that Daesh terrorists at Safa had used as their "last bargaining chip," Al-Masdar News reports.

"For months, Daesh has used these hostages to leverage the Syrian military to halt their operations in the Al-Safa region of southern Syria," the report stated.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 9, 2018: GOVT FORCES FREED ALL HOSTAGES CAPTURED BY ISIS IN AL-SUWAYDA

On November 8, the Syrian Special Forces freed all hostages, who had been captured by ISIS in eastern al-Suwayda and then held in eastern Homs, the Syrian state media reported. According to the report, the operation took place in the area of Hamimah east of Palmyra, where Syrian troops eliminated a group of ISIS terrorists and feed the hostages.

The SANA provided no further details. However, Syrian pro-government activists believe that Russia Special Forces may have played own role in the operation.

ISIS captured civilians in a brutal attack on the government-held area on July 25. Since then, the Damascus government had been struggling to rescue the hostages and even attempted to strike a deal on this issue with the terrorist group in October. However, only 6 civilians were saved this way. The military option appeared to be more effective.

US, Turkey Risk Direct Military Clash as They Escalate War in Syria

As it pursues its war with US-backed Kurdish-nationalist organizations, the Turkish government is threatening an outright military occupation of large parts of Syria that could provoke war with Syria and a direct clash with US forces.

On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced joint patrols by US forces and Kurdish-led militias as “unacceptable.” Speaking to reporters in Ankara, he said:

“Not only can we not accept (the joint patrols), such a development will cause serious problems at the border.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This looks as though the situation for the American military could get very dicey, very quickly, and particularly if the Russians start shelling American positions, and US troops retaliate.

But the bottom line here is, we shouldn't be in Syria in the first place! We were not invited, nor were the Turks; the Russians and Iranians were, and have been very successful in kicking out the jihadis.

The Unraveling Of The Netanyahu Project For The Middle East

Nahum Barnea, a leading Israeli commentator, writing in Yedioth Ahronoth in May (in Hebrew), set out, unambiguously, the ‘deal’ behind Trump’s Middle East policy:

In the wake of the US exit from JCPOA [which occurred on 8 May], Trump, Barnea wrote, will threaten a rain of ‘fire and fury’ onto Tehran … whilst Putin is expected to restrain Iran from attacking Israel using Syrian territory, thus leaving Netanyahu free to set new ‘rules of the game’ by which the Israel may attack and destroy Iranian forces anywhere in Syria (and not just in the border area, as earlier agreed) when it wishes, without fear of retaliation.

This represented one level to the Netanyahu strategy: Iranian restraint, plus Russian acquiescence to coordinated Israeli air operations over Syria.

Minister: Israel might destroy Syrian S-300s, even if manned by Russians

An Israeli cabinet minister has warned that if the Syrians use their recently supplied advanced Russian air defense missiles to bring down Israeli planes over Israeli territory, the launchers would be targeted — even if that means endangering Russian military specialists at the launch sites.

Environmental Protection Minister Ze’ev Elkin, who is also co-chair of the Russia-Israel Intergovernmental Commission, told Russian media Monday that it was a “big mistake” for Moscow to supply its ally Syria with the S-300 missile system, because the advanced missiles, which are considered a significant threat to Israeli air power in the area, “might lead to destabilization of the situation.”

Video: Former US-backed Militants “Switch Sides” in Syria War. Now Fighting against US-led Coalition

Former members of US-backed militant groups are joining forces with the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, operating in Syria, the WSJ reported on November 1. According to the report, approximately 2,000 fighters had joined the forces and have even started receiving salaries. The WSJ claimed that it was due to losing funding from the US. However, the reason pointed out by local experts is that the US strategy in Syria had lost credit even in the eyes of some of its own proxies. In the period from 2016 to 2018, thousands of former members of militant groups had reconciled with the Damascus government. A notable part of them is now serving in the newly formed units of the Syrian military, for example the Shield of Qalamoun.

The U.S. Ignores Its Vietnamese Victims to This Day

Nguyen Van Tu grasps my hands in thanks as we end the interview. His story is part of a hidden, if not forbidden, history that few in the U.S. know. It’s a story that was written in blood in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos during the 1960s and 1970s and now is being rewritten in Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s a story to which new episodes are added each day that U.S. forces roll armored vehicles down other people’s streets, kick down other people’s doors, carry out attacks in other people’s neighborhoods and occupy other people’s countries.

It took nearly 40 years for word of Nguyen Van Tu’s hardships at the hands of the United States to filter back to America. Perhaps a few more Americans will feel remorse as a result. But who will come forward to take responsibility for all this suffering? And who will give Pham Van Chap a new leg?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Being one of the world's most war-centric despots on the planet means, never having to say you're sorry; until the loss or losses are so horrific, that the wars ultimately grind to a stop, because the people of the US will not allow it, as they did during the peaceful, massive demonstrations against the war in Vietnam.

So far, that hasn't happened for the US; but coming wars I see, potentially against Russia; China; and Iran, may well be the turning point for the US, creating either total devastation, or a complete economic collapse for this country. Either way, it may not not end well.

US USES BANNED WHITE PHOSPHORUS BOMBS IN SYRIAN CITY FOR THE FOURTH TIME IN TWO MONTHS

DEIR EZ ZOR, SYRIA – The U.S.-led coalition in Syria has been accused of using white phosphorus incendiary munitions for the fourth time since mid-September. White phosphorus is banned internationally when used in areas with civilian populations.

Syrian state news agency SANA reported on a bombing conducted by the U.S.-led coalition that had targeted the small city of Hajin in Syria’s Eastern Deir Ez-Zor province over the weekend. The bombing, allegedly intended to target Daesh (ISIS) terrorists who control the city, killed fifteen civilians – among them women and children – and injured scores more. Civil sources cited by SANA reported that white phosphorus bombs had been used, which – in addition to resulting in several civilian deaths and injuries — caused massive property damage due to the fires resulting from the use of the banned substance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am thoroughly amazed that by now, President Trump, who seems to be very excited about the possibility of overtaking President Bush's record for the most slaughtered innocents, in both Syria and Yemen, hasn't just ordered a complete carpet bombing of Syria with white phosphorous, including , perhaps, a decap strike, using the chemical, on Damascus.

Most probably, because those with camera-equipped cell phones in Damascus, will be sending images of this carnage around the world, so people can document precisely what damage these bombs are causing to both people, and the infrastructure.

But there is another question which must be asked, and that is, just how long will Russia's President Putin will put up with this nonsense until he feels he has to respond militarily?

He has acted with great restraint in these incidents; but there will be a point of no return for him, as long as the "Coalition" continues "playing picador" with Russia by committing these war crimes.

Israeli Minister Threatens to Strike Syrian S-300s If Israeli Jets Get Hit

An Israeli minister said Monday that Russia’s shipment of S-300 anti-aircraft systems were “a big mistake” and said Israel would target them if Israeli planes are hit in Israeli airspace.

Ze'ev Elkin, Israel's minister of Jerusalem affairs and minister of environmental protection, who is also the co-chair of the Russia-Israel Intergovernmental Commission, said that Israel is ready to attack Syria's new S-300 air defense systems in the event that they are used to fire on Israeli jets.

"We consider the very fact of shipping S-300 to Syria a big mistake," Elkin said during a press conference for Russian media Monday. "The Syrian military are not always capable of correctly using the hardware transferred to them. In case of improper operation, civilian aircrafts may be harmed," he said.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 6, 2018: “RUSSIAN MERCENARIES CASUALTIES” NARRATIVE RESURFACES IN MSM

Russian-linked private military contractors (PMCs) have suffered new casualties in Syria, Syrian pro- and Russian pro-opposition militant media outlets claim.

Initial speculations on this issue appeared on November 3 and November 4 when several outlets claimed that an explosion reportedly hit barracks of the 5th Assault Corps of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the province of Deir Ezzor.

According to one of the versions, the blast allegedly hit “a Russian military HQ” near the Panorama checkpoint near Deir Ezzor city killing at least 5 Russian PMCs as well as killing and injuring multiple SAA troops. However, no photo or video evidence, or at least confirmation from a pro-government source, were provided. The argument used to “confirm” the alleged casualties was that the 5th Assault Corps is widely-known as a Russian-backed military formation, which has been assisted by Russian military advisers.

US-led airstrike leaves ‘at least 15 civilians’ dead in Syria’s Deir Ez-Zor – state media

At least 15 civilians have been killed in a US-led coalition airstrike on Saturday, Syrian state channel SANA reports citing local sources. The bombing occurred in the city of Hajin, in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ez-Zor. The majority of the victims are women and children, according to the Ikhbariya TV channel. Last month, Damascus called for a UN probe into the US-led bombing of civilian targets in Syria, after 62 civilians were killed in a US Air Force raid on two villages in Deir Ez-Zor.

US Warplanes Bomb Eastern Syria Again, Kill Several Children, Women

Over 15 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in the US-led coalition fighter jets' airstrike in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, local sources reported on Sunday.

The sources said that the warplanes targeted residential units near Khalid Bin Walid in the small town of Hajin in Southeastern Deir Ezzur on Saturday, killing at least 15 civilians, mostly women and children, and injuring tens of others.

The sources said some of the injured are in critical conditions.

The Arabic-language website of SANA news agency quoted several local sources in Deir Ezzur as saying last week that the US warplanes targeted several districts in the town of Hajin in Eastern Deir Ezzur with white phosphorous bombs which are forbidden internationally.

This was the second time in a month that the US-led coalition's fighter jets attacked Deir Ezzur with banned weapons under the pretext of fighting the ISIL.

White House Says US "Remains Open" To New Iran Deal As Sanctions Loom

After horrifying the executives at HBO by tweeting a meme about the impending reinstatement of sanctions against Iran on Friday (the image was a play on HBO's "Winter is Coming" advertising campaign for its hit series "Game of Thrones"), President Trump clarified that the White House remained open to working out a "more comprehensive" agreement with Iran that would ideally help curb the regime's "malign activities" in the Middle East and "forever block" Iran from building nuclear weapons.

This isn't the first time that Trump has said he is open to a "new deal" with Iran. But the mildly less threatening rhetoric was, we imagine, designed to encourage the pullback in oil prices seen in recent weeks. Earlier in the day, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US would grant sanctions waivers to eight countries (but not the European Union as a whole). The US has also decided not to encourage SWIFT to disconnect Iranian banks from the global financial system.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I agree with the author of this blog about Trump's seemingly softening stance was for public consumption regarding rising oil prices.

But you have to understand; there is a deep reverence in President Trump's attitude toward two of the most bloodthirsty tyrants in the Middle East, and the best contenders for that title are the Butcher of Gaza (Israel's Netanyahu) and the Butcher of Yemen, (Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince bin Salman).

I am quite certain that Trump has given his word to his largest US backer, Sheldon Adelson, and to Netanyahu, that if Iran doesn't pull back from these
alleged "malign activities" (whatever the heck these are supposed to be), that there will be a time and a place for a US-led/Israeli backed, military challenge against it, including a proxy of Saudi Arabian fighters, and regime change in Tehran.

But I would very much like to add a cautionary note to President Trump and his advisors on this; through his sanctions against it, President Trump has drawn Iran, Russia, and China closer together than they have ever been, economically and militarily in the history of those countries.

IF US/ISIS attached fighters pick a fight with either Russia or Iran in Syria, there will be hell to pay, and that may be the way the US believes it can "legitimately" start the war with Iran; through its facilities in Syria, assisting the Syrians and Russians in getting the rebels out.

Right now, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a war against China, Iran, or Russia, in Syria.

The US, through its Presidential Advisor, John Bolton, has stated flatly that
the US military will not leave Syria, as long as there are Iranian advisors there. Russia is still very much involved in Syria, and working with Turkey and other countries toward its reconstruction.

I am deeply concerned that the long fuse of American intervention in Syria, as a "doorway" to a war against Iran is about to get lit, either after the midterms, or the first of next year.

Russia Isolated? US And Britain Excluded From Syria Summit

There were several takeaways from the recent Quadrilateral Summit in Istanbul on finding a peaceful settlement to the war in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin convened with his counterparts from Turkey, Germany and France for a two-day summit last weekend in a convivial and constructive atmosphere.

The four powers signed a communique emphasizing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. It was Putin who underscored the inviolability of the Syrian government of President Assad as the internationally recognized authority in the Arab country. The communique also endorsed the right of the Syrian nation to self-determination over the future political settlement, free from external interference.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because it was not invited to the conference, is no guarantee that the US government will do the right thing, which would be it's pulling its military from the country; Israel still wants, desperately, for the US to destabilize Syria to the point where it will become a failed state.

And as of 24 September, 2018, John Bolton made the following statement:

John Bolton says the US will stay in Syria until Iran and its Proxies are Gone

For Bolton to have made this statement, it is painfully clear that the US government is perfectly fine with catching hostile fire from Syrian, Iranian, and/or Russian forces in Syria.

This creates a potential for war by the US and Israel against Russia, Syria, and Iran.

Video: Syrian Army Discovers ISIS Depot with US-Supplied Ammunition

On November 1, Hayat Tahir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) announced that its members had attacked positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the village of Abu Qamis in southeastern Idlib. Three SAA soldiers were reportedly killed.

A source in the SAA told SouthFront that clashes had erupted near the village, but declined to provide additional details. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least one Hayat Tahrir al-Sham member was killed.

Later on the same day, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and another al-Qaeda-linked group, Horas al-Din, shelled multiple SAA positions in northern Hama and western Aleppo.

Iraq Deploying Nearly 30,000 Fighters to Syrian Border to Fight ISIS

With most ISIS forces believed to be operating in the desert in eastern Syria, Iraq is facing growing concern that they’ll eventually, in the face of US-backed offensives, cross into Iraqi territory and try to set up shop again.

The Iraqi military announced that two Army brigades, a total of 8,000 soldiers, have been dispatched to the border. The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) say 20,000 Shi’ite militia fighters are also en route.

All told that’s nearly 30,000 fighters loyal to the Iraqi government heading to the Syrian border, in an attempt to keep ISIS from crossing in. Given the size of the border, however, it’s not clear how well they will be able to prevent cross-overs, if ISIS decides to.

That may not be an immediate concern, with ISIS forces in Syria continuing to fight against the Kurdish YPG in the last few towns they have yet.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And why do the Iraqis think that US-backed, funded, and trained ISIS mercs will try to set up shop in Iraq?!?
May 2018 Iraqi Parliamentary elections You will note, that the leader of the Iraqi Parliament is none other than Muqtada al-Sadr, a virulently anti-US cleric who was the head of the Mahdi army, and threatened that US troops were "fair game" for attack if they stayed in Iraq a millisecond over the time the SOFA said they needed to be out of Iraq.

His coalition has to be the State Department's worst nightmare, so since they have the ISIS troops in Northern Syria, they are figuring that they will use them to destabilize Iraq yet again, as the current government is not to their liking.

Russia-Israel crisis deepens after latest IAF strike in Syria

Moscow was raging mad and the Russian liaison officers at the Hmeimim base in Syria were furious with their Israeli counterparts after the IAF's recent attack in Syria, which was confirmed this week by a source in Jerusalem. The source sought to show Israeli determination and put on a false display of the IDF resuming normal activity in Syria against Iranian targets. But the story behind this aerial attack shows the extent of the crisis between Russia and Israel, which began with the downing of a Russian spy plane, and to which no solution has been found so far.

According to reports on social media in the Middle East, where users monitor military activity in Syria, the Israeli air strike took place more than a month ago, after Russia blamed Israel for the deaths of 15 air crew and intelligence personnel aboard the intelligence plane, which was shot down by Syrian aerial defense.

TURKISH NEWSPAPER: ISIS IN SYRIA RECEIVES WEAPONS DIRECTLY FROM US-LED COALITION

The Turkish Yeni Safak newspaper revealed on October 31 that it had obtained several documents, which prove that ISIS received weapons and ammunition directly from the US-led coalition.

A commander in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) confirmed to Yeni Safak that the U.S. had handed over weapons to ISIS in the town of al-Mansurah, west of the city of Raqqa, and in the area of al-Tanaf, near the border with Iraq.

According to the commander, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the US-led coalition formed a group of Kurds and Arabs to facilitate the delivery of weapons to ISIS terrorists. The PPK and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) played a key role in the process.

German publication questions Israel’s alleged attack on Syria after S-300 delivery

The Israeli claim about conducting military operations in Syria after the destruction of the Russian Il-20, which prompted the Russian military to deliver a modernized export version of its S-300 air defense system to Syria, don’t sound truthful, according to Germany’s Contra Magazine.

“Israel has insisted that the S-300s wouldn’t interfere with its ability to attack Syria, but in the space of over a month since then, not a single media report on such an attack has been made. However, on Monday, Israel said that it has attacked Syria since September 17, and did so coordinating with Russia,” the publication wrote.

“The claim,” according to Contra Magazin, “is obviously intended to strengthen Israel’s resolve to attack at will, especially after the lack of such attacks has raised many doubts.”

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 2, 2018: SYRIAN ARMY DISCOVERS ISIS DEPOT WITH US-SUPPLIED AMMUNITION

Russia Warns Again of False Flag Chemical Attack in Syria's Idlib

Russian Defense Ministry’s Chief Spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said in a briefing in Moscow that they have got information about a possible false flag chemical attack being planned in Syria’s Idlib.
“Terrorists of the Turkistani Islamic Party transferred 20 containers with 10 liters of chlorine each from Ma'arat al-Nu'aman provocative acts,” Konashenkov said, adding that “local residents reported to the Russian Reconciliation Centre that this group of White Helmets searched for residents who would like to take part in staged video footage in exchange for food,” massdar news reported.

He also claimed that “six special radiation, chemical and biological reconnaissance vehicles have been deployed to Russian posts in the immediate vicinity of the demilitarized zone in Idlib province.”

Konashenkov stated that “the territory controlled by the United States in Syria, it should be noted that this is not a de-escalation zone, or a de-conflict zone, it is a grey zone in which the situation is rapidly deteriorating.”

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 1, 2018: SDF HALTS OPERATION AGAINST ISIS IN EUPHRATES VALLEY BECAUSE OF TURKISH ATTACKS

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which consist mainly of members of various Kurdish armed groups, declared on October 31 that they had halted their operation against ISIS in the Euphrates Valley because of Turkish attacks on their positions in northern Syria.

The SDF blamed Turkey for its own inability to eliminate the ISIS-held area of Hajin in the Euphrates Valley and called on the so-called international community to pressure Ankara to stop its strikes on SDF targets. The SDF also vowed to retaliate to attacks.

Erdogan Vows to Crush US-Backed Kurdish YPG in Syria

Speaking to Turkey’s parliament on Tuesday, President Erdogan vowed to see his country crush the Kurdish YPG militarily in Syria. He says all preparations for the long-threatened offensive are completed, and the active operations have started.

Erdogan has railed about Kurdish “terrorists” for years, and has long insisted no Kurds be allowed west of the Euphrates River. Now, Erdogan says they will be totally destroyed east of the Euphrates River as well.

Details are scant, beyond Erdogan promising to destroy them, and saying he will “come down hard on the terror organization with more extensive and effective operations.” The US has yet to comment on the matter.

Syria protests at UN over Israel elections in occupied Golan Heights

Syria’s foreign ministry has sent two letters to the UN chief and UN Security Council president protesting against Israel’s holding municipal elections in the occupied Golan Heights, Sputnik reported today.

The Syrian news agency SANA said that the Syrian ministry urged the international bodies to take measures against the “judaisation” of the occupied Syrian territory.

In the two letters, the Syrian government said that the Israeli occupation is determined to hold elections of the so-called “local councils” in the villages of Majdal Shams, Bukata, Mas’ada and Ein Qinya in the occupied Syria Golan Heights.

The government stressed that this contradicts UN resolutions and the Geneva agreements on territories under occupation.

Druze on Golan Heights protest against Israeli municipal election

Israeli police wearing helmets cleared a path for would-be voters outside the balloting centre in Majdal Shams. As protesters continued to prevent people from entering, police fired teargas to disperse the crowd. No one was hurt or arrested.

The town is the largest Druze community in the area of mountainous plateau that Israel captured from Syria in a 1967 war, unilaterally annexing it in 1981 in a move not recognised internationally.

“The Golan’s identity is Arab and Syrian,” chanted the protesters as they put a banner on the entrance reading: “No to elections.”

White Helmets Hiring Locals for Staged Chemical Attacks, Paying in Food - MoD

Militants in several Syrian regions including Aleppo are engaged in planning provocations involving the use of chemical weapons including chlorine, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said, citing information provided by the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria.

"We have repeatedly informed the public about attempts by radical militants and the White Helmets, notorious for their fakes, to organize provocations using chemical agents and accusing government forces of using chemical weapons against the local population," Konashenkov noted, speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday.

According to the spokesman, on October 27, the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria received information from locals that terrorists from the Islamic Party of Turkestan* had transferred twenty 10 liter containers of chlorine for use in false flag attacks in Maarrat al-Nu'man, a city in Idlib province, northwest Syria.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 31, 2018: TURKEY FINISHES PREPARATIONS FOR NEW LARGE OPERATION AGAINST YPG

Clashes between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) have erupted in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo.

According to reports, units of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham attacked NFL positions in the village of Kafr Hamra on October 29 and had gained full control of the area by the evening of October 30. Several NFL militants were killed or injured in the incident.

Over the past few months, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham has continued expanding its influence in the parts of Aleppo, Idlib and Lattakia provinces, which are included in de-escalation agreements. While Ankara claims that it keeps the situation under control there, developments on the ground clearly shows that Turkey has in—fact reached a kind of deal with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham that allows the terrorist group to operate freely within the de-escalation zone or Turkey has not enough influence to limit the group’s activity.

US Holds Thousands of Syrian Refugees Hostage, Establishes Military Bases in Northern Syria

Syria is Washington’s war, launched by Obama in March 2011, escalated by Trump, no end of it in prospect. It’s all about wanting pro-Western puppet rule replacing the Syrian government, isolating Iran, ahead of a similar scheme to topple its government.

Most Americans are mindless about what’s going on.

Syria is in the eye of the storm, war in its eighth year, Washington using ISIS and other terrorists as imperial proxies, supplemented by US-led terror-bombing, is responsible for massacring thousands of Syrian civilians.

US forces operate in Syria illegally, occupying northern and southern territory on “18 bases in the northeastern and eastern provinces of” the country, according to Fars News.

Russian military analyst Vladimir Kozin said

“the US is training terrorists in 19 military bases in Syria.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia, Germany, Turkey, France committed to Syria’s territorial integrity - communique

The participants of the four-party summit in Istanbul - Russia, Turkey, Germany and France - are committed to the territorial integrity of Syria, according to a communique released by the German government on Saturday.

The leaders of the four nations "confirmed their commitment to sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic," the document reads.

They are "full of determination to resist separatist plans, aimed at undermining sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, as well as national security of neighboring states."

Besides, the participants of the Istanbul meeting said they were ready to work on creating conditions for the return of refugees and internally displaced persons. This will depend on providing them with "guarantees against armed conflicts, political persecution and unlawful detentions," as well as on rebuilding the country’s infrastructure to make sure that the population has access to water and electricity.

“Militants from illegal armed groups do not abandon their attempts to destabilize the situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone. The Russian reconciliation center has received information from Aleppo residents that the White Helmets are preparing another provocation with the use of toxic agents to accuse government forces to use chemical weapons against the local population,” said Lieutenant-General Vladimir Savchenko, quoted by the Russian Defense Ministry.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 30, 2018: MSM REPORTS ABOUT MYSTERIOUS ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES GO WILD

While these reports seem fascinating for supporters of Israeli actions in Syria, the problem is that no evidence exists to confirm such claims. Syrian military and local sources describe the Israeli claims as an example of fake news designed to save the face of the IDF.

It is interesting to note that the comment of the “anonymous source” to Reuters came less than an hour after the Russian news agency Sputnik had released a short interview with former Israeli deputy chief of staff and ex-head of the National Security Council Gen. Uzi Dayan. The general said that the Israeli Air Force would feel no difference even if Syria employs Russia-supplied S-300 systems and claimed Israeli warplanes would eliminate the air-defense systems stating “these weapons do not have any immunity”. This is another sign of the pre-planned PR trick.

NATO Is At War With NATO In Northern Syria

Not for the first time the Turkish army has attacked U.S.-backed forces in northeastern Syria on Sunday in yet another absurd contradiction of American policy in the region. It highlights the awkward fact that in northern Syria for over the past year one NATO country (Turkey) is at war with another NATO country's proxy force, namely the Pentagon armed and trained Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, of which the YPG is a core part).

The new flair up of tensions comes as President Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan again vowed to eliminate "terrorists and separatists" from near its border. Speaking at the four-way Syria summit involving Russia, Germany, and France in Istanbul over the weekend, Erdogan said, "We will continue eliminating threats against our national security at its root in the Euphrates' east as we have done so in its west."

Notably the Saturday summit with two major European/NATO powers did not include the United States.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 29, 2018: PUTIN SAYS IDLIB OFFENSIVE IS STILL OPTION IF TERRORIST THREAT REMAINS

On October 27th, the leaders of Turkey, France, Germany and Russia met in Istanbul to take part in a summit on the conflict in Syria. The sides discussed the situation in the war-torn country and declared their commitment to a political solution of the crisis. However, the only practical step agreed during the summit was the decision to move towards the establishment of the Syrian constitution committee by the end of the year.

During a briefing after the 4-way summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Syrians need to decide their country’s future themselves and that the future of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was not on the agenda. Putin also revealed that 50 UAVs launched by militants were downed near the Russian military base in Khmeimim.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, expressed concerns of Moscow over Washington’s actions both in the northeast of the Arab country and in the south in the Al-Tanf region.

“We remain very concerned about the situation in northeastern Syria, where the United States continues to support Kurdish separatism, and in the south of the country, in the Al-Tanf region, where there is in fact an obvious occupation of Syrian sovereign territory by US forces,” Zakharova said.

Israel is rejecting reported Russian demands that Israel give the Russian military additional warning before carrying out airstrikes in Syria, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman claimed on October 25.

“We will not accept any restrictions on our freedom of operation, and when it comes to national security, we will take action,” the defense minister told Army Radio in an interview.

In an attempt to save the face of the Israeli media, Liberman stated that the Israeli military has carried out more airstrikes on targets in Syria than have been attributed to it by media.

“Just because the media did not report on Syria strikes does not mean there were none,” Liberman said. “I don’t think it’s our duty to report what the army must do. An army needs to act.”

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 26, 2018: US MILITARY PLANE OPERATED UAVS THAT ATTACKED RUSSIAN AIRBASE IN SYRIA

A US Poseidon-8 reconnaissance plane operated 13 unmanned aerial vehicles that attacked Russia’s Hmeymim airbase in Syria on January 6, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Alexander Fomin said at a plenary session of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum on security on October 25.

“Thirteen UAVs moved according to common combat battle deployment, operated by a single crew. During all this time the American Poseidon-8 reconnaissance plane patrolled the Mediterranean Sea area for eight hours,” Colonel General Alexander stated adding that when the UAVs faced Russian “electronic warfare screen, they moved away to some distance, received the corresponding orders and began to be operated out of space and receiving help in finding the so-called holes through which they started penetrating.”

Despite this, seven UAVs were downed, and control over six drones was gained through electronic warfare systems.

US Spy Plane Coordinated Drone Attack On Russian Base In Syria, Kremlin Says

Over the past year Russia's chief military base in Syria, Khmeimim Air Base near Latakia (alternately Hmeimim), has come under sporadic waves of attack by small armed drones, which have appeared increasingly sophisticated.

Those attacks were assumed to have been the work of jihadists operating out of Idlib, such as Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, who launched the small makeshift drones in an attempt to penetrate Russian defenses, even targeting the Russian naval facility at the Syrian port city of Tartus in addition.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF this is, in fact, true, the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika's Deep State, is led by people who have just succeeded in 1: scaring the living heck out of me, and 2: have been found to have zero respect, either for this country's people, or for the true horrors of war, which it seems, has every intention of creating with Russia, and 3: having all the morals of a dead tree trunk.

If ANYONE from Russia who reads this on a regular basis, I am begging you, please, to share with your government's leadership, at the highest level possible, the reality that the American people do not want war with it in the least.

We want to see cooperation in all areas of science, art, healing, and exchanges in discoveries which will profit both nations.

Also please let them know that after 9/11; after the invasion of Afghanistan; and after the invasions of Iraq and Libya, the American public is both very war-weary and war-skeptical, and most understand the reason for the current demonization of Russia, coupled with sanctions for things Russia never really did, like annex Ukraine, are being done deliberately to make this Russia appear as the "bad guys" in terms of international relations.

I am hopeful that this planned meeting between President Trump and President Putin, planned for next month, will take the world back from the precipice upon which it is standing right now; unfortunately, to be starkly realistic, there are too many who would profit from such a war, who will refuse to walk away from the madness.

The Turkish government is continuing attempts to convince the international audience that the situation in the Idlib demilitarized zone is under control and that militant groups are fulfilling the terms of the agreement.

Initially on October 8, Turkish state media claimed that all militant groups had withdrawn their heavy weapons and fulfilled obligations within the framework of the deal. Nonetheless, by October 15, after multiple violations of the ceasefire regime, it had appeared that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and other radical militant groups had kept their weapons and members in the area. In order to propel the peaceful effort foward. Ankara and Moscow expanded the timeframe for the full implementation of the agreement further.

US Denies Killing Syrian Civilians, Says Mosque Was ‘Valid Military Target’

On Friday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that US airstrikes against the town of Souseh killed at least 32 civilians, many of them women and children. There were also reports of US strikes along the Iraqi side of the nearby border.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry reported 62 civilians killed in the strikes, though the US is now disputing this, claiming that not only were no civilians killed and none were targeted, but that the US airstrikes were “valid.”

The official Pentagon claim is that ISIS had used the moque as a “headquarters” and the mosque was a “valid military target.” They said they would look into all “credible allegations of civilian casualties.”

Bolton heads to Moscow for high-stakes meeting with Russians

National security adviser John Bolton is traveling to Russia for talks early next week with top Russian officials that are likely to cover a variety of high-priority issues for the administration.

The trip is Bolton’s first to Moscow since he went to broker the details of the now infamous Helsinki summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin last July.

The visit comes amid high tensions with Moscow on several fronts, including the conflict in Syria and the poisoning of ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal in Britain earlier this year.

Bolton is expected in his meetings with Russian officials next week to further discussions on issues that Putin and Trump discussed in July, including Syria, where Moscow says it has delivered a S-300 missile defense system — in defiance of warnings from the Trump administration and Israel.

The talks are also likely to cover Iran, efforts to denuclearize North Korea, Israeli security and nuclear arms treaties.

And these charges against Elena Khusyaynova?!?

Spybosses warn of foreign interference as Feds unseal new Russia Charges

The NPR article goes on to state: Khusyaynova was charged in a criminal complaint in the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday. She, like the other Russians who have been charged in separate federal criminal cases, is not expected to stand trial in the United States.

"The government has chosen to use legal documents to lay out the case against the people who attacked the 2016 presidential election and have kept up a war of disinformation against the West."

And yet, she, and her alleged accomplices, will not be tried in the US. So what is this nonsense?!?

More Russia bashing, pure and simple. The US government both doesn't have a case, other than putting on a lengthy "show trial" here, upon which it will lavishly spend millions of taxpayer dollars on this sheer foolishness, all in the name of Russia bashing.

And where, please, has the evidence from, to accuse her of "...having kept up a war of disinformation against the West." ?!?!?

Don't the American people have the right to know what specifically she did, which so damaged the American reputation at home and abroad?!?

Or is that, also, "sealed" away from the prying eyes of the people she allegedly dishonored, citizens of the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika?!?

The place Bolton should be visiting right now, rather than Moscow, is Tel Aviv, to ask about the continued pressure from Jewish groups, both in Tel Aviv, and Washington, to keep a very tight wrap on American elections, and insure that only people Tel Aviv and AIPAC-centric will receive the nomination to highest office here in the US.

Of course, that will happen... when pigs discover they are aerodynamic.

More than 30 civilians killed in new US-led strikes on Dayr al-Zawr

At least 32 civilians have lost their lives when warplanes of the US-led coalition purportedly fighting the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group carried out a series of airstrikes in Syria's oil-rich eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr in less than 24 hours, a monitoring group says.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that strikes on the village of Sousa killed 18 civilians including seven children late Thursday and 14 more civilians on Friday. Dozens were wounded and many remained under the rubble in the village.

The monitoring group said nine Daesh terrorists also lost their lives in the raids.

Since 2014, the US-led coalition has acknowledged direct responsibility for more than 1,100 civilian deaths in Syria and Iraq, but rights groups put the number killed much higher.

NEO – The Syrian War will go Nuclear

***
Events that have transpired in and around Syria and the Middle East with the defeat of ISIS during the fall of 2018 clearly prove one thing. The US and Israel, and under Trump the two are inseparable, intend to push Russia and China to nuclear confrontation.

The Pentagon is fully behind this, wanting to stop Russia and China before new weapons systems are fully deployed and America’s perceived nuclear advantage is gone forever. There are other reasons as well, indicating insanity among both American and Israeli commands.

Israel has millions of Palestinian hostages while the US has, over the last two decades, built nuclear shelters in Israel for up to 250,000 Jewish citizens, shelters that include ICBM silos with missiles that can hit anywhere in Europe.

French Forces to Set Up Military Base in Raqqa

The Arabic-language Baladi News website affiliated to the terrorists reported on Thursday that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are busy with drilling operations in an area stretching from the Brigade 17 region to Sahlat al-Banat region in Northeast of Raqqa city and from Sahlat al-Banat region to the North of the Sugar plant in Northern Raqqa.

It added that operations to build the walls and construction of buildings in the area will start after drilling operations, noting that a military base is due to be set up for the French forces with the aim of supporting the SDF in Raqqa.

According to the report, the US military troops are in talks with the SDF to further equip al-Tabaqah airbase in Western Raqqa and turn it into their new military base in the region next year.

Sources in the past few months said that the French army has sent weapons, military equipment and forces to Raqqa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, let me get my head around this: The US military has invited the French military to further invade and disrupt life in Syria, and will not hesitate, against the will of the Syrian government, and their Russian and Iranian counterparts, to establish a permanent military base in Raqqa, in order to engage in military actions against all of them, as they see fit?!?

Folks, given that Russia is still very active here, and Israel has threatened to take out the newly installed S-300 self-defense systems, we may be a lot closer to war in Syria than many of us had wanted to believe

What's Going On In Idlib, Syria's Demilitarized Zone?

Full withdrawal of US-supported terrorists was to be completed by October 15, the deadline missed because al-Nusra and allied jihadists refuse to disarm and leave – likely at the behest of Washington, their paymaster.

According to AMN News, Syria’s military “demand(s) answers regarding the(ir) failed…withdrawal from the designated buffer zone,” adding:

“(T)he Syrian Arab Army’s High Command is in talks with the Russian military about the next steps to take in the Idlib, Aleppo, Latakia, and Hama provinces” in response to noncompliance with the buffer zone agreement – by US-supported terrorists.

A Syrian military source said jihadists in Idlib continue attacking government forces and civilians, explaining:

They’re “strengthening their positions, digging new trenches and expanding their network of underground tunnels,” digging in for continued battle.

Israel to destroy Syria’s S-300 defence system, US general says

Former US Defense Attaché to Russia Brigadier General Peter Zwack has said that Israel is to destroy the S-300 defence system offered by Russia to Syria, Al-Wattan Voice reported yesterday.

Zwack said: “At the end, the time when the Israeli planes target S-300 defence system owned by the Syrian army is coming. This is an important issue for Israel. It will not remain silent.”

The presence of the S-400 defence system in the Russian military base in Syria’s Hmeimim is not a worry for Israel, but the Syrian regime owning the S-300 missile system is, according to Zwack.

“Based on my knowledge about the Israelis, they will tell Russia that the defence system is owned by Syria and then they will do their best to strike it and take it out of service,” he added of what he expects Israel’s plan to be.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 18, 2018: ISRAEL IS PREPARING TO CHALLENGE S-300 IN SYRIA

Two F-15 warplanes of the US-led coalition accidentally struck a unit of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which was involved in the SDF advance on ISIS in the Euphrates Valley, the Russian news agency Sputnik reported on October 17. The strike reportedly killed 6 SDF members and inured 15 others. ISIS terrorists also attacked SDF positions following the incident, according to the report.

Despite initial claims by the SDF leadership that the terrorists in the area will soon be defeated there are no signs that the operation will be finished in the near future. The Russian side even claims that the US-led coalition is using the Hajin pocket to justify its illegal presence in the country. So, nobody is hurrying to defeat the terrorists.

The Trump administration is preparing to impose sanctions on Russian and Iranian companies involved in the reconstruction of Syria, NBC News reported on October 16 citing defense officials.

6 killed as US-led coalition F-15 jets bomb Kurdish forces fighting ISIS – report

Two US-led coalition aircraft have bombed Syrian Kurdish forces, disrupting their offensive on Islamic State terrorists, RIA news agency reports. The diplomatic source has called out US’ “lack of coordination and professionalism.”

Two US-led coalition’s F-15 fighter jets have mistakenly targeted Kurdish units amid their offensive on the remaining forces of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists in Syria, RIA reported, citing a “military and diplomatic source.” It said six people were killed and 15 injured on the Kurdish side.

The incident, which took place near the town of Hajin in the Syrian eastern Deir ez-Zor province, did not just disrupt the operation but also reportedly led to numerous defections in the ranks of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Even worse, the terrorists managed to seize some territories in the area, the source added.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 17, 2018: TERRORISTS MOVE FROM SYRIA AND IRAQ TO EU VIA UKRAINE

The Turkish military has sent a new convoy of troops and military equipment in order to strengthen its forces deployed in the Syrian province of Idlib. Some sources link this move with recent reports that terrorist groups like Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, Houras al-Din and other al-Qaeda-like organizations are not going to withdraw from their positions in the demilitarized zone pre-agreed by Moscow and Ankara.

If these terrorist groups keep their attitude and continue violations of the ceasefire regime established near the province of Idlib, this may trigger a military response from the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance. Ankara, which is not interested in any advances of pro-government forces in Idlib, is preparing to employ its own military option in this case. Thus, its forces will punish the militants having a low level of loyalty to their Turkish patrons, impose at least formally the demilitarization zone and to prevent advanced by the Syrian Army in Idlib.

US sees ‘some withdrawal’ of militants from Syria’s Idlib – envoy

There has been some withdrawal of militants from the demilitarization zone in Idlib following the Russia-Turkey deal on the northwestern Syrian region, the US special representative for Syria engagement said in Ankara. “The withdrawal of heavy weapons is complete by all accounts,” James Jeffrey said. The two countries reached a deal to set up a buffer zone running 15-20km deep into rebel territory and evacuated of all heavy weapons and all militants by Monday. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), an alliance spearheaded by Al-Qaeda’s former Syrian affiliate, is the most powerful militant alliance in Idlib, Reuters said. “There is some question as to whether everybody from [Hayat Tahrir al-Sham] has left,” Jeffrey added.
