Netanyahu: Israel's legitimacy is under attack

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Wednesday that Israel's legitimacy is being attacked, during a Knesset discussion on Israel's collapsing international status.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel's legitimacy is not being attacked, it is committing suicide! Israel refuses to draw its borders and live within them. Israel has never written a constitution. Israel has not complied with the conditions placed on it for UN membership, and Israel holds the dubious distinction of having defied more UN resolutions than any other country. Israel refuses to sign the NNPT or allow IAEA inspections, and yet despite documentary proof that Israel not only has nuclear weapons but has been selling them to a still undisclosed list of customers, Israel points fingers at non-WMD nations like Iraq and Iran and flogs the United States to go kill them.

If Israel wants to join the community of modern nations here in the 21st Century that is just fine as long as they agree to act like a modern nation here in the 21st Century. But as long as Israel persists in behaving as if they are above the rules that other nations abide by, then nobody will see it as legitimate. It is a Pirate Kingdom, and its legitimacy is destroyed by its own hand.

On June 15, in their testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the chief executives of America's leading oil companies argued that BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico was an aberration - something that would not have occurred with proper corporate oversight and will not happen again once proper safeguards are put in place.

Israel selling weapons to Azerbaijan fuels possibility of new war

A dangerous pattern is emerging in the Caucasus with new reports that Israel is continuing to sell advanced military armaments to Azerbaijan, costing hundreds of millions of dollars, said Jirair Haratunian, former Chairman of the Armenian Assembly of America Board of Directors, in a column entitled "Dangerous Endorsement: More Israeli Military Arms sold to Azeris as Jewish lobby backs Azerbaijan," the Assembly told PanARMENIAN.Net.

The commentary continues, “These military sales are an incendiary fuse in a volatile South Caucasus where a startled world just witnessed a short bloody war between Russia and Georgia and where Moscow’s recognition of the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia has altered the geopolitical landscape in the region, perhaps permanently.

Report: IAF planes spotted over Saudi Arabia

Israel Air Force aircraft have been spotted in recent days at a Saudi Arabian military base unloading military equipment in the city of Tabuk, in northwestern Saudi Arabia, according to a report from Iranian news agency FARS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I do not know quite where JPOST found this report on the FARS news agency: it certainly does not seem to exist in their English language website, even as far back as the first of this month.

However, should the report be true, and it appeared in either the Farsi or Arabic language version which didn't somehow make it into the US version of their website, it is yet another indication that the US and Israel are pushing for war against Iran because they can't think of anything else to do to solve their other domestic or foreign problems.

FLASHBACK - The Fake 2001 bin Laden Video Tape

The [CIA] actually did make a video purporting to show Osama bin Laden and his cronies sitting around a campfire swigging bottles of liquor and savoring their conquests with boys, one of the former CIA officers recalled, chuckling at the memory. Webmaster's Commentary:

The US is clearly about to start the war with Iran because they cannot fix the economy, the infrastructure, or the oil disaster. Certainly both the US and Israel are desperate to erase the flotilla attack and subsequent open season declared on Americans by the US Government.

How sad that the world enters the next global disaster simply because our leaders cannot thin of anything better to do.

Although we cannot stop this insanity, what we all can and should do is deny the aggressor nations, Israel and the US, the deception that this is all somehow the fault of the victims. Hence I will be relinking all the stories about the deceptions used to start recent wars.

Reports: IAF Landed at Saudi Base, US Troops near Iran Border

The Israeli Air Force recently unloaded military equipment at a Saudi Arabia base, a semi-official Iranian news agency claimed Wednesday, while a large American force has massed in Azerbaijan, which is on the northwest border of Iran.

Both reports follow by less than a week the Pentagon’s confirmation that an unusually large American fleet sailed through the Suez Canal Saturday. Several reports stated that an Israeli ship joined the armada.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If these reports are true, it means that an attack against Iran is definitely in the cards very soon.

And it may well be.

As reported on Monday, 21 June, 2010 at:

"Both Israel and the U.S. have positioned nuclear-armed submarines in the region. Israel has conducted multiple tests on its missile defense systems to protect its citizens once war breaks out. U.S. and Israeli Special Forces have been deployed inside Iran to investigate potential targets and gauge the willingness of Iranians to overthrow the current regime. Russia--up to now a key backer of the regime--recently announced a freeze in sales of its S-300 missiles to Iran. Vladimir Putin confirmed this himself last week."

"Iran, for its part, is also preparing for an all-out war in the Middle East. Before even a vote was cast at the U.N. on recent sanctions, Iranian leaders had ordered the Guards to build up. Reinforcement troops have been dispatched to the Iraqi and Afghanistan borders."

The Israeli government desperately needs the distraction from the flotilla massacre, and the US government desperately needs the distraction from the unfolding catastrophe playing out in the Gulf of Mexico and beyond.

Has BP Summoned the Fires of Hell?

The problem is no longer a leak or a spill, you see, but a volcanic gusher – one that appears to be defeating the efforts of the most capable petroleum engineers in the world. More and more, it is looking like a sci-fi disaster film with no hero and an unhappy ending. Even our supposed best hope for containing the gusher – a second well that would intersect and plug the leak by sometime in August – may be doomed to failure, since the well casing itself may be too damaged to seal off. But the scariest story currently making the rounds is that there are fissures springing up all over the seabed, and that if the weak bedrock that holds the oil gives way, it will release a quantity of hydrocarbons greater in volume than the Gulf itself.

Termination Notice: McChrystal Sideshow Masks Murderous Reality

Some people seem to think that the question of which uniformed goober is in charge of the imperial bloodbath in Afghanistan is a vitally important issue, worthy of endless exegesis. It is not. It is a meaningless sideshow. What does matter, vitally, deeply, urgently, is the imperial bloodbath itself, and the fact that it will go on, and on, no matter what Barack Obama does or doesn't do about Stanley McChrystal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The real issues here are as follows:

1. The US and NATO are losing what was from the get-go an unwinnable war by any military standards.

2. We are on the absolutely wrong side of history here, and do not have the moral high ground in any way.

3. Our young men and women in military are being put in harm's way daily in a war, ultimately, for private profit in terms of oil, drugs, and minerals.

4. This immoral and illegal war has absolutely nothing to do with the security of the American people, and this administration - and by now, the American people- understand this clearly.

Jun 23 09:20

And what of all the other deaths?

Jun 23 09:17

In this instance, secrets meant to defend NATO from Soviet invasion were useful to Israel who traded them in order to get Jews released from Russia and allowed to immigrate to Israel. Israel contended that it was their inherent right to that information because they had a vital need for it. In that information, along with locations of all vital NATO nuclear facilities, were the names of all CIA operatives working behind the Iron Curtain and details on their contacts. After this information went to Israel, then to Russia, all involved, CIA handlers, agents and their families were murdered, the biggest intelligence disaster in American history.

Deepwater Horizon: The Worst-Case Scenario

So far, up to 3.6 million barrels of oil have spilled into the Gulf. The size of the Macondo oilfield has been estimated as being anywhere from 25 to 100 million barrels. It is unclear how much of that oil-in-place would escape upward into Gulf waters if its flow remained completely unchecked, but it is safe to assume that at least half, and probably a much greater proportion, would eventually drain upward. That means many times as much oil would enter the Gulf waters as has done so until now.

Witness Against Torture: Why We Must Act

Many people come to the capitol every day of the year. They are free to ask questions and to make comments. But, if you raise questions and comments of a political nature, police officials believe they must enforce a law to restrict your enactment of this right, even though the Constitution insists that Congress shall make no law to abridge the right of people to assemble peaceably for redress of grievance. While a U.S. president possesses near-unimaginable power, the men whom we mourned suffered from unimaginable powerlessness. Earnest mourning of these lost lives was crucial for truthful recognition that the U.S. government has used torture as a means of punishment, possibly even lethal punishment, in violation of international law and basic human rights.

Genetically Modified Crops and the Contamination of America's Food Chain

On June 21, the US Supreme Court released its long awaited decision on the first case involving genetically modified crops, allowing the USDA to impose a partial deregulation, should it so choose. This would permit the sale of Monsanto’s Roundup Ready alfalfa (RRA). However, in its 7-1 ruling, the court also upheld the lower decision to ban complete deregulation.

The US Supreme Court found that the “District Court abused its discretion when banning a partial deregulation and in prohibiting the planting of RRA pending completion of a detailed environmental review,” known as an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

The decision flies in the face of the facts in this case, and subjects us to further contamination of our food supply.

Turkey vows to press forward with Iran nuclear fuel swap

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Tuesday Turkey and Brazil would continue to press for a deal with Iran to swap part of its nuclear material despite new U.N. sanctions against Tehran.

Western powers voiced deep misgivings about a plan brokered by Brazil and Turkey for Iran to send abroad 1,200 kg of its low-enriched uranium in return for reactor fuel, and supported a fourth round of sanctions this month.

Did the CIA Conduct Medical Experiments on Detainees?

As time goes by, the record of the Bush administration gets worse and worse. It could turn out that the most egregious offense of the Bush-esque Obama administration will be that its Justice Department let Bush-Cheney & Co. off scot-free.

It’s not enough that the last gang to occupy the Executive Branch got us into two illegal wars, accumulated autocratic powers, violated our civil liberties, and tortured suspects. Now it appears that it kicked things up a notch.

Iranian flotilla to set sail on Sunday

According to the group, the vessel, named "The Children of Gaza Ship," will be carrying 1,100 tons of equipment including 500 tons of medicine and food supplies. Adibzadeh estimated that the ship will arrive in the Gaza Strip within a fortnight. "The ship belongs to a private company. It carries 10 people: Five reporters and five Red Crescent aid staffers," he said.

Referring to the possibility that Israel's Navy will intercept the ship the spokesman said, "We have undergone great hardships in sending aid all over the world and have used special channels to send the aid to Gaza."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: most likely, the ship will dock in Egypt, and use the Egyptian crossing at Rafah to bring supplies in to Gaza; unless Israel feels like attacking the aid convoy in Egypt, there is nothing Israel can do about this, as long as the Rafah crossing remains open.

If Israel does attack to start a shooting war, using this aid flotilla as their excuse, it will be obvious that any Israeli attack has nothing to do with Iran's mythical "nuclear weapons program."

Don't Let the McChrystal Frenzy Obscure the Dirty Truth About Afghanistan

Hastings told a tale of a project with no hope for success. His story shows us that the U.S. presence in Afghanistan is all about tactics dressed up as a strategy. It’s a profile of a military establishment running on inertia -- unable to withdraw because withdrawing is an admission of defeat, but also unable to accomplish the wholly unrealistic tasks put before it.

In the waning days of WW2, Hitler, rather than admit he was losing, started targeting individual officers and blaming them for the disasters which were unfolding. Social Engineering: are we all being hoodwinked

Webmaster's Commentary:

Here is the good news. All Social Engineering is based on the theory that environment is the primary determinant of behavior, an idea championed in Margaret Mead's book "Coming of Age in Samoa." This book is a foundation of the liberal idea that the human mind can be re-engineered by re-engineering the world around it. However, Mead was as much a victim of her ambitions and biases as the present day global warming scientists. The Samoan women she spent time with picked up on what Mead seemed to want to believe, and being polite, told Mead what Mead wanted to hear. Mead never checked her facts, and spun a tale of an idyllic paradise free from the societal angst of adolescence that is as fake and phony as the photos of "drowning" polar bears. That decades of liberal tinkering with people had not produced the desires result should demonstrate that the foundation theory is invalid, but like epicycles and the Big Bang, far too many academic careers rest on this myth for it to go quietly into that good night. So, the tyrants can socially engineer all they want; it is doomed to fail.

Ex-Aide to Paterson Takes Fifth Amendment

David W. Johnson, the former senior aide to Gov. David A. Paterson whose domestic violence case prompted the governor to abandon his election bid, has invoked his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself, refusing to answer questions in the investigation into the matter, according to a person with knowledge of his actions.

Mr. Johnson also would not answer questions in a separate state inquiry after he received a subpoena from the Commission on Public Integrity requiring him to testify about his role in securing five World Series tickets from the Yankees for Mr. Paterson and others who went to the game with him last fall, the person said.

Because of its claimed use in terrorism, possession of a Casio watch, specifically a Casio F91W, was listed in Guantanamo Bay Combatant Status Review Tribunal reports and other government documents as a reason for these detainees' continued detention.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Millions of people wear Casio digital watches. I wear one myself. According to the US Government, possession of such a watch is grounds to lock you up without a trial.

Judge Who Overturned Drilling Ban Has Oil Investments

The Louisiana judge who struck down the Obama administration's six-month ban on deepwater oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico has reported extensive investments in the oil and gas industry, according to financial disclosure reports. He's also a new member of a secret national security court.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A rather disturbing picture is starting to emerge here. According to Wayne Madsen, the US Government was pressuring BP to reach that huge oil deposit at 35,000 feet because it would fuel the US war machine for the 8 months the invasion of Iran is supposed to take, during which oil traffic through the gulf is expected to be disrupted. This is why even after the Deepwater Horizon disaster, exemptions and waivers for environmental studies are being waived by the administration.

Being an election year, Obama is trying to look like he is protecting the environment, so he issues an order to halt the deep drilling and lets his buddy the judge on the secret FIA court knock it down. So the drilling goes on and Obama gets to pose before the voters.

And the invasion of Iran for Israel proceeds with only a modest delay.

When False Flags Don't Fly

Those who have studied history know that nothing invigorates and empowers an authoritarian regime more than a spectacular act of violence, some sudden and senseless loss of life that allows the autocrat to stand on the smoking rubble and identify himself as the hero. It is at moments like this that the public—still in shock from the horror of the tragedy that has just unfolded before them—can be led into the most ruthless despotism: despotism that now bears the mantle of "security."

Acts of terror and violence never benefit the average man or woman. They only ever benefit those in positions of power.

Is U.S. Now On Slippery Slope To Tyranny?

When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s, leading up to his taking power in the 1930s, he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics.

Such people were a valuable addition to his political base, since they were particularly susceptible to Hitler's rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions.

"Useful idiots" was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.

Put differently, a democracy needs informed citizens if it is to thrive, or ultimately even survive.

BP Had the Technology to Accurately Measure Amount of Oil Leaking into the Gulf Two years Ago

Would it surprise anyone to know that BP had already developed the technology to accurately measure troublesome oil and gas flow mixtures at the well head two years ago? It can be done remotely and continuously, at up to 10,000 feet, with a clamp-on, calibration free, sonar flow meter, or that the company that sells and installs them is presenting at petroleum conventions in Calgary and Newfoundland this summer?

The reason BP does not want the true flow known, is that it would require them to pay the "legitimate" fines and royalties they owe on what is extracted, regardless of whether it is ever recovered. As of mid-June their violations of the Clean Water Act alone are around $10B.

Too Much Government in the Gulf

It should be noted that BP is not exactly a bastion of free market capitalism. Rather, they are very vested in acquiring government subsidies, favorably slanted policies, and competition-hobbling regulation. BP has even been a major lobbying proponent of cap-and-trade because of certain provisions in the legislation it could profit from. Considering who lobbies for them and what they lobby for, my concern is that attempts to hold them strictly and fully accountable could end up being nothing more than a shell game, with taxpayers ultimately holding the bag.

Do we actually call what we are doing in Afghanistan a war? Recent estimates are that 88% of the people support what we call “the enemy.” The German’s were much more popular than us during their occupation of France during World War 2. What does that say about our friends? Even Petain and Laval, the French Vichy traitors, had more public support that Karzai has in Afghanistan.

Is it called poetic justice?

Rex Williams and Earl Aiman

“What can we do to stop them from hating us?”

Simple! Stop acting like a tyrant.

“The new American Tyranny,” … nothing new, actually!

Prior to 1776 the British Colonies of the New world practiced British tyranny against the native American and the French colonists of North America. Post 1776, the practiced the “New American” tyranny against what remained of the Native American, and the Spanish Colonial in North America. And when they were all subdued or brought to heel, went on to export it overseas, product which they have continued to export ever since, in an ever greater degree.

We have become the tyrant which we overcame to escape, and we have assumed his mantle and the hatred of our own victims of tyranny.

General Stanley McChrystal, top US commander in Afghanistan has been summoned home for a “briefing,” read “waterboarding session” after news of an upcoming article in this week’s Rolling Stone magazine hit the White House. His crime? General McChrystal is guilty of honesty, discernment, good judgement and communicating his sanity in private with the kind of candor we lived without during the Bush years, much to our sorrow. It is obvious that General McChrystal was targeted, not unlike White House correspondent Helen Thomas. Why? Who or what did General McChrystal threaten?

Obama Administration Knew About Deepwater Horizon 35,000 Feet Well Bore

According to the Wayne Madsen Report (WMR) sources within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Pentagon and Interior and Energy Departments told the Obama Administration that the newly-discovered estimated 3-4 billion barrels of oil in the Gulf of Mexico would cover America's oil needs for up to eight months if there was a military attack on Iran that resulted in the bottling up of the Strait of Hormuz to oil tanker traffic, resulting in a cut-off of oil to the United States from the Persian Gulf.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So now instead of being merely incompetent, now it looks like Obama may have knowingly took a risky gamble by pushing forward on the Deepwater Horizon well as a preparation for the attack on Iran!

Oozing along, dripping slime

Hopefully not, for as I suggested in a rebuttal to “The right side”, “Revulsion at the brutal occupation and slaughter of civilians should be a universal human concern, not a matter for the right and left to debate the relative merits of.”

What is being done to the Palestinians is not right, and I don’t have to ooze along ‘dripping slime’ to know that. And why would people interpret moral and ethical questions on the basis of their political leanings? What’s right is right, and what’s wrong is wrong, and politics be damned.

Israel funded "terroriost" groups through BCCI

BCCI was a major international money-laundering bank founded by Agha Hasan Abedi of Pakistan in 1972. Abedi moved his headquarters to London, and registered the company in Luxembourg (which vies with Switzerland as Europe’s biggest money-laundering center for world gangsters, especially Jewish gangsters.) BCCI operated in 78 countries, had over 400 branches, and claimed assets of US$ 25 billion. MI5 confirmed that the Israelis funded their Abu Nidal terrorist through the Sloane Street branch of BCCI, near Harrods in London. The Israelis also used BCCI to fund “Black September” and many other Israeli false flag operations.

As L.A. County sheriff's deputies evacuated residents during last year's Station fire, a training officer with the department noticed a deputy acting strangely. He was stumbling, then he fell over.

The incidents, and others, are detailed in an oversight report released Tuesday that highlighted the department's struggles with employees who drink on the job or whose drunkenness results in problems off the job.

Israel, while supposedly observing an ironclad boycott of all things Iranian, is happily buying Iranian oil

Last month the Swiss foreign minister visited Iran and, together with President Ahmadinejad, attended the signing of a multi-billion euro contract for Iran to supply Switzerland with large amounts of natural gas over the next 25 years.
The US State Department immediately condemned the deal and said it would be investigating whether it breached the Iran Sanctions Act. Israel complained too, describing the Swiss minister's visit to Tehran as an "act unfriendly to Israel". Various Jewish groups also joined in the protests, including the World Jewish Congress.

The Israeli Media’s Flotilla Fail

If the raid of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla was a disaster for the Israel Defense Forces, its aftermath demonstrated an equally bewildering performance by the Israeli media. The IDF Spokesman’s Office churned out one misleading claim after another, each one more implausible than the next, seeking to implant in the public’s mind a version of events that bore little relation to reality. To a degree, this was to be expected; but it was startling to see how some of Israel’s most respected reporters lined up to serve as military stenographers, barely challenging the IDF’s rapidly changing versions of events.

Philadelphia man indicted for using right to free speech

Unemployed American Bruce Shore watched a C-Span hearing on TV in which U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning, R-Ky. complained that he missed the Kentucky-South Carolina basketball game because he had to be in Congress to debate an unemployment benefits bill.

Bunning sent a letter to the Senator's office. "Are you’all insane. No checks equal no food for me. Do you get it?" he wrote.

The next month, FBI agents came calling to Shore’s home in Philadelphia.
