CIA warns of violent American Jews

A CIA document released by Web site Wikileaks on Wednesay expresses concern that the US had become an "exporter of terrorism," specifically mentioning American Jews in Israel.

The classified report, titled "What if Foreigners See the United States as an Exporter of Terrorism?" was produced in February 2010 by the CIA's Red Cell, a think tank set up in the wake of the September 11 2001 attacks on New York's World Trade Center. It mentions incidents in which Americans joined terrorist groups such as the Taliban and the Irish Republican Army, and committed acts such as the 2008 Mumbai bombing.

Iran: Dimona is in Our Crosshairs

An unnamed senior officer in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards warned Thursday that Iran would strike Israel if it is targeted, no matter who the attacker is.

According to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai, the officer said, "Iran has thousands of surface-to-surface missiles, including improved Zelzal-2 and AL-Fatah 110 missiles,”“with which it will set alight all of the oil towns, facilities and infrastructures of the neighboring countries, if these serve as platforms attacking it.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note that this completely unsourced.

However, one thing this article tells us for certain and without a doubt: Israel is a nuclear-armed country, and there is not one speck of "ambiguity" about it!

Fed Seeks Delay of Bank Data Release While Considering Appeal

The Federal Reserve Board sought to delay the court-ordered release of documents identifying banks that might have failed without the U.S. government bailout while it considers an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Fed asked the U.S. Court of Appeals in New York yesterday to delay implementation of a ruling that compels the central bank to release the documents.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just what is so damning in these records that the Fed is requesting a delay of the release of this information.

MK calls for investigation into Israeli soldiers' abuse of Palestinian children

A member of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, has condemned as "unethical and inhumane" the methods used by Israeli soldiers to investigate Palestinians, particularly children. Dr. Afu Agbaria MK claimed that "Israel's own statistics confirm that 14% of detained Palestinian children were subjected to sexual abuse threats by Israeli soldiers."

He referred to a report by the Palestinian Prisoners' Ministry which revealed that 65% of detainees, most of them children, face brutal torture and ill-treatment during their detention and interrogation; 32% apparently signed confessions without understanding their content because they were written in Hebrew.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A country is ultimately judged by how it treats its most vulnerable people; children, the medically fragile, and the impoverished.

The Israeli military's institutionalization of torture against Palestinian children as routine condemns the state of Israel to the status of a failed experiment in morality.

Ramadan Force-Feeding, and Renewed Secrecy Surrounding Hunger Strikers in Guantánamo

In a disturbing report in the Miami Herald, the ever-vigilant Carol Rosenberg reports that an unknown number of hunger strikers at Guantánamo are being force-fed between dusk and dawn — a mixture of cruelty (force-feeding) and respect (for Ramadan) that is sadly typical of the surreal, otherworldly reality of Guantánamo, over eight and a half years after the prison first opened.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The existence of the Guantanamo prison is a moral blight on the conscience of this country, allegedly a country of rights and laws.

If these people actually did what they are accused of doing, they should be tried in an American court of law, not a military tribunal.

The reason many of them have been locked up is that the powers that be in Washington are terrified of what would be revealed was done to many of them to coerce them to confess to crimes they very probably did not commit.

Humankind has known since the time of the Catholic Inquisition that torture gets people to say anything the torturer wants to hear in order to get the torture to stop.

Making Sense of the Media Cover-Up of 9-11

On 9-11, President George W. Bush said "America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world." Minutes after the demolitions of the Twin Towers, Ehud Barak, the former Israeli prime minister, told the world on BBC World television that Osama Bin Laden was behind the attacks and that the United States should invade Afghanistan. This was, after all, the real plan behind the false-flag attacks.

The number of babies born with severe deformities and children developing leukaemia is rising dramatically in parts of Iraq.

U.S. Troops Fire On Thousands Of Protesters Outside Bagram Base Wednesday, August 25

US troops fired on thousands of Afghan civilians as they protested outside the massive US military base at Bagram on Monday.

A provincial police official said that at least one civilian was killed in the incident, but Nato asserted that no civilians had been killed or injured.

The Western military alliance claimed that soldiers had only fired "warning shots" to disperse residents after they surrounded a military patrol and attacked vehicles outside the sprawling facility with rocks and iron bars.

But Parwan province deputy police chief General Faqir Ahmad was adamant that one civilian had been killed - although he said he could not be sure who fired the fatal bullet.

Yemen 'abandons' human rights

In a report issued on Wednesday, Amnesty International says that growing US concern over al-Qaeda's presence in Yemen, combined with domestic challenges to the legitimacy of the government, has prompted a marked deterioration in the human rights situation in the impoverished country.

The group says that over the past year, the Yemeni government has carried out vicious military campaigns, arbitrary arrests and extrajudicial killings as it faces international pressure to tackle al-Qaeda-affiliated groups, and seeks to quell a growing secessionist movement in the south while fighting periodic battles with Houthi rebels in the north.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember: it is the corrupt government of President Ali Saleh your tax dollars are going to support, a government only concerned with protecting the wealth of Saleh's family dynasty, and not protecting the welfare of its citizens.

Corruption, coupled with grinding poverty and illiteracy, make insurgency attractive to some people who have nothing left to lose: this is precisely what is happening right now in Yemen.

Obama's US Assassination Program?

Sound too conspiratorial to be true? Like the cover-up ops of spy novels? Well, it's reality. And it is possibly the most bizarre, inhumane and abusive way that the White House is expanding its power over the American people.

And it's the gravest nightmare of U.S. citizens and abandonment of our Constitution to date: a presidential assassination program in which U.S. citizens are in the literal scopes of the executive branch based upon nothing more than allegations of terrorism involvement as the branch defines it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Thinking Americans have to ask themselves the following, sobering, question; at what point does a person who never advocates violence, but has legitimate, reasoned concerns about the US's foreign or domestic policies, morph into an alleged "terrorist", eligible for either imprisonment, or extrajudicial assassination, or both?!?

Israeli President: Iran Threatens to Use Nuclear Weapons

Having been snubbed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Amano Yukiya visited with Israel’s President Shimon Peres instead.

Peres, whose position in Israel is largely ceremonial, demanded that Amano and the rest of the world “acknowledge the danger” Iran poses to Israel and the rest of the world, adding that Iran “threatens to use nuclear weapons.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's get a couple of issues absolutely straight here.

1. Iran, a signatory to the NNPT, has no nuclear weapons; only a power station, built under the watchful eye of the IAEA, and subject to IAEA inspections.

2. Israel, which has nuclear weapons, refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and refuses inspections of its nuclear sites.

3. All US aid to Israel since the passage of the Symington Amendment, has been illegal, in light of the fact that Israel has nuclear weapons but refuses to sign the NNPT and refuses inspections of its nuclear sites.

Petraeus: Reconciliation With Taliban is ‘Ultimate Goal’

Speaking today to Fox News, US Commander in Afghanistan Gen. David Petraeus insisted that the “ultimate goal” of the nearly nine year long war is to enable the “reconciliation”of the Karzai government with the Taliban.

And while such talks have actually taken place (mostly with official US ambivalence), Gen. Petraeus says the war must continue until it “creates conditions” for a more favorable reconciliation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why must this war "...continue until it 'creates conditions' for a more favorable reconciliation"?!?

More "favorable" to whom?!? Western oil corporations? The drug dealers who are making a killing, literally and figuratively?!? The huge defense contractors, also making a killing literally and figuratively?!?

To make these statements is to telegraph to Afghanistan and the world that the US and NATO are losing this war, big-time. The only question is, when does that "Saigon moment" come to pass, when the US and NATO have to accept that this 9 year war was never winnable militarily, and leave?

Music Biz Uses Net Neutrality to Equate P2P with Child Porn – Again

Earlier this year the IFPI took that sentiment to the next level, going so far as to exclaim that “child pornography is great…because politicians understand child pornography.”

“By playing that card,” IFPI lawyer Johan Schlüter told an audience gathered at an anti-P2P conference in Sweden, “we can get them to act, and start blocking sites. And once they have done that, we can get them to start blocking file-sharing sites.”

The music industry knows the drill. Equating P2P with child porn is the quickest way to make people sympathetic to their cause and get them to act accordingly.

Five years after Congress passed the Gulf Opportunity Zone Act of 2005, more of the tax-free benefits have gone to the state’s powerful oil industry than to development in hard-hit areas. New Orleans has so far received a total of $55 million in bonds shared between eight projects—or less than 1 percent of the more than $5.9 billion issued statewide. None of the bonds issued for New Orleans projects went to development in hard-hit and still-struggling areas like the Lower Ninth Ward.

Obama's other surge -- in Yemen

The long struggle against Al Qaeda since the 9/11 attacks has taken many twists and turns. Now it has even led to the forced evacuation of an entire city of 80,000 people – in Yemen, the ancestral home of Osama bin Laden.

The evacuation took place last week when the Yemeni military laid siege to the southern city of Loder in order to flush out a group called Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), which may have 300 to 500 fighters.

The battle, which left dozens killed on both sides, is the latest escalation of a joint effort by the Obama administration and the Yemeni government to rid the country of this dangerous affiliate of Mr. bin Laden’s core group in Pakistan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the US public is being "softened up" for yet another escalating military misadventure, this time in Yemen.

It is very convenient to lump all fighters of despotic regimes (like that of Yemen) under the classification of "Al Qaeda." However, thinking people really have to wonder if Al Qaeda really exists as the US paints it.

For starters, the words "Al Qaeda" translate literally from Arabic to English as "the base". However, in colloquial Arabic, it means "the toilet". What self-respecting terrorist group would call itself "the toilet"?!?

Also, when this article talks about "...this dangerous affiliate of Mr. Bin Laden’s core group in Pakistan", the writers omit one key fact; Bin Laden has been dead for years, so whoever has been leading this group is not Bin Laden.

The government of President Ali Saleh has been characterized as one of the most corrupt in the region; and for the Middle East, that's saying something.Saleh is simply interested in preserving his family's wealth and position, and has absolutely no concern about the welfare of Yemen's people.

Yemen's grinding poverty, coupled with illiteracy and corruption, can make people with nothing left to lose find insurgency attractive, which is precisely what is happening now.

If US aid to Yemen does not bring with it development, infrastructure, education and jobs for its people, the US government will have continued in its grand, myopic tradition of simply supporting a thug militarily because he is "our thug" in the region.

But if peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable, and that may well be the case in Yemen unless the aid "carrot" comes with a "stick" of guaranteeing improvement in the lives of Yemen's citizens.

Confronting Washington's Job Killers

The news that the Environmental Protection Agency prevented early clean-up of floating oil in the Gulf by refusing to waive its “clean water” limit of 15 parts per million should make us all focus on the job killing structure in Washington, D.C. Just three days after the BP spill, the Dutch government offered their oil-skimming ships and ocean oil-cleansing technology, but were rejected because the cleaned ocean water would not reach the EPA’s limits of being 99.9985 percent pure. Imagine if even half the oil had been skimmed off; the rest probably would not have even reached shore because oil degrades quickly in warm ocean water.

Key Karzai Aide in Corruption Inquiry Is Linked to C.I.A.

The aide to President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan at the center of a politically sensitive corruption investigation is being paid by the Central Intelligence Agency, according to Afghan and American officials.

Mr. Salehi’s relationship with the C.I.A. underscores deep contradictions at the heart of the Obama administration’s policy in Afghanistan, with American officials simultaneously demanding that Mr. Karzai root out the corruption that pervades his government while sometimes subsidizing the very people suspected of perpetrating it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sadly, corruption appears to be the only lubricant keeping commerce moving in Afghanistan.

The US occupation and invasion of Afghanistan has never, ever been about US security. It has always been about potential private profit from drugs (mission accomplished here); the installation of pipelines with which to control Eurasian oil; and the control of Afghanistan's vast and largely untapped mineral wealth.

And the corruption surrounding those activities, particularly regarding the flow of cheap heroin, will continue, unabated, as long as the occupation of Afghanistan continues.

Van-mounted body scanners coming to a street near you?

US law enforcement agencies are among the customers of a Massachusetts-based company that is selling full-body scanners to be mounted inside vans and used on streets, says a report from Forbes.

The company says its largest customer by far is the US military, which has purchased the machines to search for car bombs and other threats in war zones. But AS&E's vice president of marketing, Joe Reiss, said US law enforcement agencies have also bought the machines "to search for vehicle-based bombs in the US," Greenberg reports.

AS&E has not revealed the names of its US law enforcement customers, or how many of the machines they bought. But Reiss describes the van-mounted scanning system as "the largest selling cargo and vehicle inspection system ever."

America’s mental illness epidemic: It turns out that the drugs are the problem

Tens of millions of innocent, unsuspecting Americans, who are mired deeply in the mental “health” system, have actually been made crazy by the use of or the withdrawal from commonly-prescribed, brain-altering, brain-disabling, indeed brain-damaging psychiatric drugs that have been, for many decades, cavalierly handed out like candy

Expensive Puppet State: CIA Man Is Key to U.S. Relations With Karzai

The Obama administration has turned to the Central Intelligence Agency's station chief in Afghanistan to troubleshoot Washington's precarious relationship with President Hamid Karzai, propelling the undercover officer into a critical role normally reserved for diplomats and military chiefs.

The station chief has become a pivotal behind-the-scenes power broker in Kabul, according to U.S. officials as well as current and former diplomats and military figures. In April, when Mr. Karzai lashed out against his Western partners, it was the station chief who was tapped by the White House to calm the Afghan president.

US existing home sales drop to 10-year low

Sales of existing homes in the US plunged 27.2% in July compared with June to their lowest level in more than 10 years, figures suggest.

The main reason for the drop was the end of tax credits designed to boost sales.

Economists are rather gloomy about the US jobs market.

The US economy shed 131,000 jobs in July, the second month in a row that jobs had been lost.

Recent figures also showed that economic growth in the US slowed between April and June, with GDP growing by an annualised rate of 2.4% compared with 3.7% in the previous quarter.

Weaker-than-expected retail sales figures for July also added to concerns over the strength of the recovery of the world's largest economy.

"I was arrested with felony charges for expressing protest against acts of injustice against a neighbor."

After cops felt her up during the traffic stop and illegally began to search her vehicle against her will, I expressed myself and got arrested. After the video, they illegally trespassed and searched my vehicle, finding one of my many legal firearms and held me 24 hours on a felony charge that was dropped the next day.

It’s refreshing to see there are so many people who “get it”– except maybe Steve. This was a great article and there are some really good comments here. I want to point out something I haven’t seen written about before regarding 9/11 and maybe it will cause some people who still don’t get it or refuse to examine the mountains of evidence pointing to 9/11 being an inside job to rethink their beliefs in the official story coming from our corporate government and their mouthpiece media.

Since there are so many vets here who I assume would understand attack strategies I thought this would be the place to bring this up.

U.S. Rejected Hen Vaccine Despite British Success

Faced with a crisis more than a decade ago in which thousands of people were sickened from salmonella in infected eggs, farmers in Britain began vaccinating their hens against the bacteria. That simple but decisive step virtually wiped out the health threat.

But when American regulators created new egg safety rules that went into effect last month, they declared that there was not enough evidence to conclude that vaccinating hens against salmonella would prevent people from getting sick. The Food and Drug Administration decided not to mandate vaccination of hens — a precaution that would cost less than a penny per a dozen eggs.

Now, consumers have been shaken by one of the largest egg recalls ever, involving nearly 550 million eggs from two Iowa producers, after a nationwide outbreak of thousands of cases of salmonella was traced to eggs contaminated with the bacteria.

You'll Buy Gold Now and Like It!

By Jeff Clark, Casey's Gold and Resource Report

I get this question a lot: "Should I buy gold now, or wait for a pullback?"

It’s a valid question. For nearly two years, gold hasn't had a serious decline. There have been pullbacks, of course, but nothing assumption-challenging. In fact, since October 2008, gold’s largest price drop is 10.6% (based on London PM fix prices), and yet the average of all declines since 2001 is 13% (of those greater than 5%). The biggest pullback we've seen this summer is 8.2%. Technically the summer's not over, but I'll admit I'm surprised we haven't had a better buying opportunity.

EPA Considering Ban on Traditional Ammunition — Take Action Now

With the fall hunting season fast approaching, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Lisa Jackson, who was responsible for banning bear hunting in New Jersey, is now considering a petition by the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) – a leading anti-hunting organization – to ban all traditional ammunition under the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976, a law in which Congress expressly exempted ammunition. If the EPA approves the petition, the result will be a total ban on all ammunition containing lead-core components, including hunting and target-shooting rounds. The EPA must decide to accept or reject this petition by November 1, 2010, the day before the midterm elections.

Ex-President Carter visits North Korea in release bid

Former US President Jimmy Carter is visiting North Korea in an effort to negotiate the release of a US man jailed there, Aijalon Mahli Gomes.

On his arrival in Pyongyang, Mr Carter met senior officials including North Korean deputy leader Kim Yong-nam.

Mr Gomes, 31, was sentenced to eight years' hard labour in April, after being found guilty of illegally entering the country from China.

US officials have called Mr Carter's visit a "private humanitarian trip".

"Obviously it's a mission to secure the release of Mr Gomes, but we don't want to jeopardise the prospect for Mr Gomes to be returned home by discussing any of the details," state department spokesman Mark Toner said.

Border Agents Slam Obama Administration
"How many times have Americans heard lawmakers, mayors, governors, and immigration advocates when asked about Arizona enforcing immigration law, claim that their police officers aren't authorized or trained to enforce immigration laws?" asks a career law enforcement officer from New York.
"Well, either these government leaders are too ignorant to to hold office or they're out-and-out lying to the American people," said former NYPD detective Sid Franes.
The Immigration and Nationality Act includes section 287(g), added in 1996, that grants local and state jurisdictions the ability to enforce immigration law with proper training and supervision by federal authorities.

The Voice Of Palestine

We, the Palestinians, have a voice; a strong one that never tires no matter the deafness or the silence of the world. We speak of our suffering, aspirations and hopes when all others are silent. We tell our story, the story of a land usurped by foreign colonists, the story of an indigenous people ethnically cleansed from their ancestral home, the story of an olive tree steadfast in the face of Zionism.

We have a voice, a voice that speaks of the suffering that is daily, of the fears that are touchable, of the pain that is real, of the land that is mingled with our blood, a voice that is Palestinian.

The Big Bang is currently imagined to have occurred 14 billion years ago.

The farthest object seen in the sky by the Hubble and Keck Telescopes is 13 billion light-years distant, and is assumed to have been created when the universe was just 750 million years old. It would take at least that long (if not longer) for the material from the theorized Big Bang to coalesce into stars and for those stars to form a rotating galaxy.

But here is the problem. We are seeing that object 13 billion light-years distant not as it is today and where it is today but as it was and where it was, 13 billion years ago, 13 billion light-years distant from earth.

The Government's New Right to Track Your Every Move With GPS

Government agents can sneak onto your property in the middle of the night, put a GPS device on the bottom of your car and keep track of everywhere you go. This doesn't violate your Fourth Amendment rights, because you do not have any reasonable expectation of privacy in your own driveway - and no reasonable expectation that the government isn't tracking your movements.

That is the bizarre - and scary - rule that now applies in California and eight other Western states. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which covers this vast jurisdiction, recently decided the government can monitor you in this way virtually anytime it wants - with no need for a search warrant.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I guess this is the correct way to salute the flag after all!

Apparently, jamming a GPS is far easier than you might imagine. Common electronics like a VHF/UHF antenna pre-amp can distort the signals.
