Over the past few days, the military situation has notably escalated in central and western Syria.

On February 15, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) backed up by pro-government militias launched a scale combing operation in the deserts of Damascus, Deir Ezzor, Raqqa and Homs.

The operation covers the desert area between the western Deir Ezzor countryside and the Bishri mount in southern Raqqa; between the historical city of Palmyra in eastern Homs and the Ghurab mount in the Damascus desert; and the northeastern part of the Damascus desert that reaches the Syrian-Iraqi border. This effort is designed to improve the shake security and prevent large attacks by ISIS cells on government-controlled areas.

Thanks to New York City Health Officials, New Yorkers Can No Longer Get CBD in Their Coffee

Last week New York City's health department, long the bane of food freedom supporters, banned city restaurants from adding cannabidiol—a compound found in both cannabis and hemp that's commonly known as "CBD"—as an ingredient in food or drinks they sell.
CBD products, purported to offer health benefits to consumers, also offer quite a premium for sellers. A coffee at Bushwick's Caffeine Underground costs $2.50. A CBD-infused coffee—presumably the same coffee with a couple drops of CBD added—will set you back $6.00.

The Pentagon’s research office is exploring how artificial intelligence can improve technologies that link troops’ brains and bodies to military systems.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency recently began recruiting teams to research how AI tools could augment and enhance “next-generation neurotechnology.” Through the program, officials ultimately aim to build AI into neural interfaces, a technology that lets people control, feel and interact with remote machines as though they were a part of their own body.

Impossible as they may sound, neural interfaces have already been used to allow people to control prosthetic limbs, translate thoughts into text, and telepathically fly drones. Through the Intelligent Neural Interfaces program, DARPA will explore how AIcan make these systems more durable, efficient and effective.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder about the not-so-great applications of this technology, and how the moral boundaries should be set, to avoid misuse.

TRUMP Calls for Investigation into Rigged, Liberal Channels That Constantly Spew Hatred at Republicans

Last night, “Saturday Night Live” opened with another anti-Trump skit with Alec Baldwin impersonating Trump’s Rose Garden presser where he announced he was declaring a national emergency to secure funding for the southern border.

Alec Baldwin called the national emergency “fake” and mocked the drug and opioid crisis gripping the nation due to porous borders.

“You all see why I gotta fake this emergency, right? I have to because I want to. It’s really simple. We have a problem. Drugs are coming into this country through no wall,” Baldwin said.

Baldwin continued: “Wall works, wall makes safe. You don’t have to be smart to understand that, in fact it’s even easier to understand if you’re not that smart.”

The anti-Trump skits by Alec Baldwin are old and tired, but the ‘get Trump’ media won’t stop until the president is removed from office.

Pulwama attack fallout: Kashmiri students in Delhi fear for their security

Several Kashmiri students here said they were in a state of fear after reports of alleged harassment of Kashmiris following the Pulwama terror attack, even as police asserted that security had been enhanced in the national capital and they would ensure the safety of all citizens.

According to media reports, several Kashmiris living outside the state claimed they were harassed and attacked after the terrorist attack in Pulwama district in which 40 CRPF men were killed.

A Kashmiri student from Jamia Millia Islamia, who did not wish to be identified, said, "Just the fact that one is a Kashmiri, irrespective of his ideology or leanings, is enough to put one's life to risk. It is happening across the country. Kashmiri students are being harassed and hounded, be it Dehradun, Ambala or Bangalore. We really fear for our security here too."

Pakistan must be accountable for terror attack in Iran: Parl. Speaker Larijani

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani says Islamabad should account for a recent bloody terrorist attack in Iran’s southeast as the assault was plotted on and launched from Pakistani soil.

“The Pakistani government should be accountable for this act involving the grouplet orchestrating and conducting the operation from their (the Pakistanis’) territory,” Larijani said during a parliamentary session on Sunday, referring to the terrorist outfit that has claimed responsibility for the attack.

On Wednesday, an explosives-laden car rammed into a bus carrying members of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on a road in Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province, killing 27 IRGC personnel and injuring 13 others.

The so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group, which is linked to al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the assault.

The attack killed 27 IRGC members and wounded 13 others, and the so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the bombing. Iranian officials say the group plotted the attack in and moved to carry it out from inside Pakistan.

Post Pulwama attack: India raises import duty to 200% on Pakistani goods

Despite continuing its economic retaliation with Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pulwama incident, India raised the custom duty to 200% on all goods it imports from Pakistan, India Today reported on Saturday.

The decision will significantly hamper Pakistan’s exports to its neighbouring country, which stood at $488.5 million for the financial year 2017-18.

The decision will lead to drastic increase in price of imported goods – fresh fruits, cement, petroleum products and mineral ore.
The development comes after India withdrew its Most favoured Nation status for Pakistan.

Pulwama attack and finger-pointing at Pakistan

Prussian King Fredrick the great with many accomplished military victories under his belt is said to have commented that “the most experienced in his army was a mule who had participated in every campaign but was none the wiser for that experience.” At times strategic success is not the reward of the winner’s capabilities but incompetence of the losers. India is fast losing Kashmir and despite the writing on the wall none of the military commanders appointed over the years in Occupied Kashmir have been able to tell the policy-makers in Delhi about the futility of their Kashmir policy. State oppression and terrorism has been the name of the game in occupied Kashmir and when one young man rises up to blunt that state oppression being perpetrated on the people of his community in the Indian state doesn’t look inward at its mistakes and follies but outward and at its neighbour — a punching bag that it considers it can utilise to beat its frustrations and divert the world’s attention.

Disunited America

Prior to the Democrats becoming the anti-American political party of Identity Politics, whites, blacks, and Puerto Ricans could laugh at themselves and at one another. Dean Martin turned a roast, in which good humored fun is poked at a prominent person, into mass entertainment. That blacks were equal opportunity targets was testimony to the success of black entertainers and athletes. In the humorless world of today, these roasts would be considered “hurtful,” “offensive,” and “hate crimes.”

Americans had to be trained to this new mentality. It was done in order to break us apart as a people, and it has succeeded. Recently, in response to overwrought reactions to youthful blackface experiences of current Virginia Democratic politicians, I posted a Dean Martin roast of Sammy Davis Jr. and asked if Davis was a self-hating black for permitting himself to be ridiculed on stage before a large audience.

Graham: McCabe revelations 'beyond stunning'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday pledged to thoroughly investigate comments from Andrew McCabe after the former FBI deputy director told "60 Minutes" that Justice Department officials discussed a plan to potentially remove President Trump from office.

"We're going to find out what happened here and the only way I know to find out is to call the people in under oath and find out, through questioning, who's telling the truth because the underlying accusation is beyond stunning," Graham said on "Face the Nation."

Graham, the chairman the of the Senate Judiciary Committee, reiterated that he intends to subpoena McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to testify before the panel if they won't agree to do so voluntarily.

The senator downplayed the notion that an investigation into the FBI will further damage the bureau's credibility.

Cop Charged for Horrifically Torturing Restrained Teen With Taser Walks Free After Mistrial

Two police officers who strapped an 18-year-old in a restraint chair and tortured him with a taser were arrested and charged with multiple crimes last June. The horrifying video was so damning that the normal process of sweeping it under the rug was not an option. Sadly, however, the trial for the cop who did the torturing, just concluded last week and ended in a mistrial.

Last year, former Corporal Mark Bryant was charged with two counts of Excessive Force Under the Color of Law, and two counts of Destruction, Alteration or Falsification of Records in Federal Investigations. Sergeant Gary Ola was also charged with two counts of making false statements to federal investigators for lying to them in August of 2017 and again in May of 2018.

In September 2018, Sgt. Gary Ola accepted a plea agreement for two counts of making false statements to FBI agents in connection with the incident. He has yet to be sentenced.

The Tulsi Gabbard Phenomenon as a Diagnostic Tool

First, one might imagine that she would be the dream candidate for the Democratic Party: she is a female, she is not White, she has impeccable “patriotic” credentials, she is obviously both very good looking and very smart, she does not have any skeletons in her past (at least none that we know of for the time being) and she is not associated with the notorious Clinton gang. So what’s there not to like about her if you are a Democrat?

Well, as we all saw, the putatively “liberal” legacy Ziomedia hates Tulsi Gabbard with a passion. Maybe not as much as that legacy Ziomedia hates Trump or Putin, but still – the levels of hostility against her are truly amazing. This may seem bizarre until you realize that, just like Donald Trump, Tulsi Gabbard has said all the right things about Israel, but that this was not nearly “enough” to please the US Ziolobby.

Venezuela’s armed forces ready to slaughter American invaders. Vietnam on steroids.

For 20 years Chavez’s Bolivarian movement has overseen Venezuelan armed forces recruitment and promotion. The old guard is history. Chavez and Maduro maintained high ratios of generals to troops; they dismissed the recalcitrant, and routinely shuffled seating arrangements. Few potentially disloyal generals command followings of devoted cadre. Not only do Venezuela’s coup-plotters struggle with marshalling a strike force; they must lookout for legions of uniformed Maduro loyalists.

Divisions within the armed forces are not the coup-plotters’ gravest concern. In 2009 Chavez sought to deter coups, and invasions, by launching the Milicia Nacional Bolivariana (MNB).

Activists GetUp ruled independent of parties by Electoral Commission

Activist group GetUp has been declared independent of any particular political party, after an investigation by electoral authorities.

The Australian Electoral Commission found, in a report released on Monday, that GetUp was not an "associated entity" at the time of the 2016 federal election.

The AEC said it had considered documents provided by Liberal MP Ben Morton, publicly available information, and material provided by GetUp, as well as advice from the Australian Government Solicitor and federal prosecutors.

GetUp national director Paul Oosting said it was the third time the commission had ruled in the organisation's favour, despite accusations by "hard right politicians".

NZ will assess Huawei equipment risk

New Zealand will independently assess the risk of using China's Huawei Technologies in 5G networks, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says.

Her comments on Monday came after a report suggested that British precautions could be used by other nations.

Huawei, the world's biggest producer of telecoms equipment, faces intense scrutiny in the West over its relationship with the Chinese government and US-led allegations that its equipment could be used by Beijing for spying.

No evidence has been produced publicly and the firm has repeatedly denied the allegations, which have led several Western countries to restrict Huawei's access to their markets.

The Financial Times reported on Sunday that the British government had decided it can mitigate the risks arising from the use of Huawei equipment in 5G networks.

CBS Chicago: Jussie Smollett Paid Nigerian Bodybuilder Bros $3,500 for False Flag Attack

Jussie Smollett paid two brothers to stage an attack against him, directed them to buy items used in the alleged assault and actually rehearsed it with them, sources say.

Sources say at least one of the brothers bought the rope used in the incident at Smollett’s request. The sources also say the “Empire” actor paid for the rope, which was purchased at the Crafty Beaver Hardware Store in the Ravenswood neighborhood the weekend of Jan. 25.

The brothers, who were questioned by police this week before being released, were paid $3,500 before leaving for Nigeria and were promised an additional $500 upon their return.

They left for Nigeria later in the day on Jan. 29, after the attack.

Sources said one of the brothers held the rope and poured bleach while the other wore a plain red hat and yelled slurs at Smollett.

Swedes Seethe Over Documentary Claiming Their Ancestors Were Dark-Skinned

The first Swedes were dark-skinned hunters and collectors, who moved to Scandinavia from the south at the end of the Ice Age. There, they were quickly joined by another immigration wave, this time from the east, resulting in stone age Europe's most diverse population, a new documentary by Sweden's national SVT broadcaster has claimed.

"The First Swedes", a new documentary by the SVT national broadcaster, has been met with critical reaction and backlash ahead of its airing.

According to SVT, the first modern people who entered today's Sweden were dark-skinned hunter-gatherers who followed the migrating reindeer.

Mattias Jakobsson, a professor of genetics at Uppsala University and a researcher of the Atlas project, which aims to map the genome of Sweden's early population, stressed that unlike present-day Swedes, their ancestors had dark skin, as a legacy of their African origin.

North Korea faces 'historic turning point', says state media ahead of summit

North Korea is facing a "significant, historic turning point", state media said on Monday (Feb 18), ahead of a highly-anticipated second summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.

The meeting between the two leaders - which will be the second time the pair have come together following their Singapore summit in June - is scheduled for Hanoi, Vietnam on Feb 27-28.

Attention has been focused on whether the US team will offer to lift some economic sanctions on North Korea, in return for Pyongyang taking concrete steps toward denuclearisation.

"It is time for us to tighten our shoe strings and run fast, looking for a higher goal as we face this decisive moment," the Rodong Sinmun newspaper said in an editorial.

English-Speaking Narrator Behind Daesh Propaganda Videos Captured – Report

The man’s perfect English caught the world’s attention as early as 2014. Experts speculated at the time that he could have been North American or Canadian and they turned out to be correct.

A Canadian man of Ethiopian descent who immigrated to the North American nation as a child turned out to be the narrator behind numerous Daesh propaganda videos, including those that depict prisoner executions, according to a report by The New York Times.

One of the most notorious Daesh propaganda video shows Syrian prisoners digging their own graves, before allegedly being shot in the back of the head by Daesh.

It is now known that the man with the perfect English-language narration in the horrific videos is Mohammed Khalifa, a 35-year old Canadian citizen who immigrated from Saudi Arabia as a child. During his life in Canada, he learned to speak like a native Canadian, studied technology and worked on modest jobs for various computer companies.

US Losing Global Leadership Role to Russia, China and Iran, German Media Claims

Earlier, speaking at the Munich Security Conference over the weekend, US Vice President Mike Pence boasted about "renewed American leadership on the world stage," while talking up sanctions against Russia, tough tariffs against China, 'confrontation' with Iran, and US intentions to withdraw from the INF Treaty.

Despite the US vice president's remarks at Munich, Washington is in fact losing ground to Russia, China, and even Iran, Spiegel Online wrote.

Speaking in Munich on Saturday, Pence boasted that thanks to "the leadership of President Donald Trump," the United States was "stronger than ever before, and…leading on the world stage once again."

In reality, Spiegel noted, the world Pence was describing was a "strange parallel world" which "has little to do with reality."

Israel training mercenaries for Yemen war in UAE camps in Negev: Haaretz

Israel's leading daily Haaretz says Tel Aviv is a partner to the Saudi war on Yemen and is "reaping the profits" from its partnership in the brutal aggression.

Haaretz revealed that Israeli officers are training foreign mercenaries, led by the Colombians and Nepalese, in UAE-funded camps situated in Negev Desert.

Quoting sources in a US House Intelligence Committee, the report said the mercenaries have been recruited by Mohammed Dahlan, security adviser to Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Dahlan had “visited these camps on more than one occasion to check the progress of preparations and training received by mercenaries, under the personal supervision of the Israeli occupation army officers," the report said.

German police is hiding facts about migrant crime statistics “to preserve civil peace”

The German newspaper Hannoversche Allgemeine recently raised the question if violent crime statistics are tweaked in the country.

A state police officer is quoted saying: “There is no lying, nothing is hushed, but things are deliberately left out.”

“There are orders to use our latitude of interpretation to preserve civil peace.”
The journalist Dieter Wonka met with the police officer, and now he knows specifically how the statistics are tweaked.

In a short video clip he states the following: “There is no written instruction to falsify the statistics. There are certain terms, for instance honour killings or sexual offenses, that if possible should not appear in reports.”

“In the case these terms do appear in police reports, from what I have understood, the police chief will make a written note on the report which says: ‘Please review this’.”

President Trump lied to the nation today by falsely claiming his administration stopped multiple illegal alien caravans, when in truth, he let them into the USA. Speaking for 40 minutes, he never mentioning he just signed the dastardly and secretive budget bill which incentivizes illegal immigration and child trafficking.

2013 — The Year The US Increased Arms Shipments To Terrorists In Syria

By Brandon Turbeville

Despite the repeated demonstrations of the fact that the United States and other Western nations have armed, supported, and funded terrorists in Syria from the beginning of the crisis in 2011 as well as long before that crisis had taken shape, official pronouncements admitting to funding those terrorists made by Western governments and reported by mainstream media outlets should not be dismissed simply because their actions are now common knowledge. After all, these incidents generally involve much more important revelations than those admitted to by corporate media...

Rush Limbaugh: Spending bill was effort by some Republicans to sabotage Trump

Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, speaking to "Fox News Sunday," charged that the compromise spending bill recently signed by President Trump to avert another partial government shutdown was little more than a disguised effort by some Republicans to torpedo his 2020 presidential candidacy.

"Both parties have people that are still trying to get rid of Donald Trump," Limbaugh said, asserting that Democrats are also working to guarantee a "permanent underclass of voters" who are "uneducated" and "don't even speak" English.

He continued: "I read this bill -- this spending bill, this bill is outrageous. [It includes] welcoming centers for newly arriving illegal aliens, and all kinds of medical care" -- a reference to the allocation of $192,700,000 in the bill's conference agreement to enhance medical care and transportation for illegal immigrants in U.S. custody, including to shelters run by nonprofits.
