Letter comparing parent protests to domestic terrorism triggers funding fallout

The nation’s leading school board advocacy group is facing a critical loss of funding and membership after sending a letter comparing parent protests and threats to domestic terrorism.

Why it matters: The National School Boards Association has since apologized, but the fallout could be seven figures in annual funding. At least 17 state affiliates have severed ties with the group — and some are even considering establishing a competitor.

The 17 state affiliates accounted for more than 40% of annual dues paid to NSBA by its state association members in 2019, according to Axios' analysis of documents detailing those contributions.
The big picture: Officials fear upheaval at the organization — the nation's leading trade group representing U.S. public schools — will handicap it just as national debates over school curricula and COVID-19 mitigation measures dominate the political conversation.

Pre-K Dependency Shows The Problem With Biden's Build Back Better Plan

If President Joe Biden wants to fulfill his plan for universal pre-K education, it will demand many more teachers.

New data reflect the enormous amount of hiring that schools would have to do to accomplish Biden's idea of universal pre-K in the United States.

According to an estimate from the National Institute for Early Education Research at Rutgers University, between 40,000 and 50,000 new teachers would be needed to enroll 70% of the U.S. 's 3- and 4-year-old population. School districts nationwide would have to hire an estimated 5,000 teachers a year to satisfy these demands within the following 10 years.

Duke University Researchers Claim Farmer's Markets and Donating to Food Charities Is a Form of "White Supremacy"

Ever been to a farmer’s market to buy products directly from those who produce the fruit/vegetables/eggs? Every donated to a food kitchen to help underprivileged individuals?

You are a white supremacist. [Duke University researchers say farmer’s markets, food charity part of ‘white supremacy culture’,, December 3, 2021]:

A lecture series by Duke University researchers focuses on a racial framework to food issues, claiming elements such as foodcharity and farmer’s markets are part of “white supremacist” food culture.

The lecture, broadcast online as a webinar and provided at a Washington State University summit, places race as the most prominent factor in issues of food scarcity and how society attempts to resolve it. Jennifer Zuckerman and Alison Conrad, both white, of the Duke University World Food Policy Center claim that “whiteness” has shaped every part of food culture, even labeling “good” and “bad” foods as an expression of racial power dynamics.

Embattled Virginia school district won’t release emails on rape scandal unless parent pays $36,000

The school district at the center of an ongoing firestorm over sexual assault and restroom policy is asking a parent for a five-figure sum before it will comply with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for documents shedding light on its knowledge of the situation.

The Daily Caller reports that on October 18, mother Michelle Mege submitted a FOIA request for “all communications, including press releases, statements, emails, or other correspondence in any format” in the possession of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) containing the words “sexual assault” or “rape” from May 1 to Oct. 18, 2021.

Vaccines, grades, tests, math: Equity becomes flashpoint in California schools

That’s one of the buzzwords that will likely dominate conversation in California’s capitol next month, when state lawmakers return to Sacramento to consider, among other things, possible legislation to remove the personal belief exemption from Gov. Gavin Newsom’s student COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Stressed school leaders have mixed feelings about that, with some warning it could push thousands of kids — disproportionately from underserved communities — out of the classroom and into remote learning, widening an educational achievement gap that only grew during the pandemic.

Gender-neutral school bathrooms make the case for homeschooling

In the possessed spirit of these woke times, Chicago Public Schools has moved to designate restrooms free-for-alls to promote ‘inclusivity.’ The only thing the initiative will achieve, however, is to confuse and endanger students.

Back in 1972, a famous television commercial, sponsored by the United Negro College Fund, extolled the virtues of a wholesome education by proclaiming, “a mind is a terrible thing to waste.” What a difference half a century has made. Today, the slogan would be more accurate if it proclaimed, ‘a radical liberal agenda to screw with the minds of children is a terrible thing to waste.’

Chicago Public Schools (CPS), putting its woke credentials on full display, has mandated that institutions make restrooms ‘gender-neutral,’ thereby allowing students to relieve themselves in restrooms that align with their gender identity, and I’m guessing pronouns, too.

Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’ bill includes LGBT overhaul of child care, radical transgender projects

Joe Biden’s more than $1.7 trillion “human infrastructure” bill, the Build Back Better (BBB) Act, threatens a radical, pro-LGBT assault on American child care, while setting aside massive funding to promote the LGBT agenda.

The potentially $4.8 trillion bill, packed with spending for progressive priorities, would subsidize child care costs and provide free pre-kindergarten for six years for $400 billion. Other provisions include $550 billion for “climate change” initiatives, billions in tax breaks to blue state millionaires and labor unions, and a potential $100 billion overhaul of the immigration system.

In addition to authorizing billions in abortion spending, the bill also targets religious child care providers and funds woke, pro-transgender projects with hundreds of millions of public dollars.

Detroit Superintendent Opposes CRT Ban in Michigan: “Our Curriculum Is Deeply Using CRT”

In a school board meeting on November 9, Dr. Nikolai Vitti, the superintendent of Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), urged the board to oppose a ban on Critical Race Theory (CRT) in public schools in Michigan.

Vitti urged the board to oppose a bill passed by the state House banning certain aspects of CRT, saying DPSCD is “very intentional” about embedding CRT: “Our curriculum is deeply using critical race theory, especially in social studies, but you’ll find it in English Language Arts and the other disciplines.”

At the 1:53 mark in the almost three hour meeting, after the end of the public comment period, Dr. Vitti takes the mic to discuss agenda items, including Michigan House Bill 5097, which would ban certain aspects of CRT from public instruction. Vitti said:

Even More Petty : Campus Commies Trying To Ban Rittenhouse From Classes

The truly ironic thing is that most of these pea-brained socialists would be happy to welcome a “revolutionary” like Assata Shakur to campus, even though she’s actually been convicted of murder. Their issue with Kyle Rittenhouse isn’t that he shot three people. It’s that he shot the wrong people. If he had aimed his rifle at police officers instead of a guy chasing him down to attack him, something tells me that these students would have cheered. But because Rittenhouse shot three “protesters,” even in self-defense, he’s now their enemy. -- And the fact that it was self-defense isn’t irrelevant to them. Instead, it’s further justification (in their minds, anyway) for their temper tantrum, as evidenced by their laughable list of “demands”.

Texas: Two Fathers Arrested at their Homes by Police Force Working for the School Board

Round Rock, Texas: Two fathers Jeremy Story, a minister, and Dustin Clark, a retired Army captain, spoke out against the Round Rock Independent School District at school board meetings in two separate incidents, and both men were later arrested at their homes. Mr. Story gave evidence against the school superintendent in a domestic violence case and was physically shut down at the meeting. On a later date, Mr. Clark was removed by officers from school property when he objected to being locked out of a school board meeting about mandating masks. The Round Rock Independent School District has its own police force with patrol units, school resource officers, a detective and a K-9 unit. The sheriff’s office was the arresting agency. The Round Rock Independent School District apparently has the power to order the arrest of citizens in their homes for criticizing the board.

National Assessment Reveals Significant Drop in 13-Year-Olds’ Reading, Math Scores

A measure of long-term trends in the assessment of 13-year-olds’ reading and math achievement has revealed a statistically significant drop in scores over the past eight years, another outcome that points to the failure of the Common Core State Standards.

Heritage Foundation Center for Education Policy researchers Nick Storz and John Schoof observed the statistically significant decline in the scores over the past eight years is the first in the 50-year history of the National Assessment of Educational Progress’ 2020 Long-Term Trend Assessment.

“Despite record-high education spending, these declines are the latest evidence casting significant doubt on Common Core’s learning standards and approach to student improvement,” the researchers noted at the Daily Signal.

While the test scores of nine-year-olds showed improvement for two decades, current scores were found to yield no change since the test was administered in 2012.

A newly-verified picture of the Loudoun County Public Schools rapist, and a letter from the sheriff, raises fresh questions about the honesty of Superintendent Scott Ziegler in his handling of the now-notorious bathroom rape.

The picture shows the teen wearing a skirt and a girls’ shirt designed to expose cleavage, striking a feminine pose and standing in front of a rainbow flag. His hair is tied in a bun, and he is wearing a choker necklace that says “kitten” as well as rainbow socks.

The family of his victim confirmed to The Daily Wire that the boy pictured is the person who was ultimately found responsible of the ninth-grader’s rape in a girls’ bathroom at school, and that he was wearing the same feminine shirt during the assault. The assailant previously acknowledged in court that he was wearing a skirt during the rape.

Fairfax County Public Schools gives parents the double-barreled middle finger

Distance learning exposed parents to two things: Critical Race Theory, which doggedly turns American schools into racial war zones, with innocent children painted as victims or victimizers, depending on race, and the push to normalize transgenderism. Virginia teacher wins lawsuit after being suspended for denouncing trans pronoun policy

The embattled school board of Loudoun County, Virginia, agreed to permanently reinstate a teacher suspended for criticizing a radical transgender policy enacted by the board earlier this year.

A settlement that the school board agreed to on Monday prohibits retaliation against Byron Tanner Cross, a physical education teacher at Leesburg Elementary School. The settlement also requires the school district to remove any references to Cross’ suspension in his personnel file and pay $20,000 of his legal fees.

The Christian elementary school teacher had sued the Loudoun County school system in May after being put on administration leave for denouncing a then-proposed rule to force teachers to use transgender pronouns, among other things. Cross slammed the policy at a school board meeting that month as a violation of his religious convictions and said that it constituted “abuse to a child.”

Professor who said pedophiles should be called ‘minor-attracted persons’ placed on leave

Old Dominion University placed a “nonbinary” assistant professor of sociology and criminal justice on administrative leave for publicly arguing the term “pedophile” is overly stigmatizing and should be replaced with “minor-attracted persons” (MAPs).

Allyn Walker, who identifies as “they/them” and is the author of A Long Dark Shadow: Minor-Attracted People and Their Pursuit of Dignity, said in a November 8 interview with the group Prostasia Foundation that “there is no morality or immorality attached to attraction to anyone because no one can control who they’re attracted to at all. In other words, it’s not who we’re attracted to that’s either OK or not OK. It’s our behaviors in responding to that attraction that are either OK or not OK.”

U. North Dakota Fires Administrator for Discriminating Against Police Chief Who Voted for Trump

The University of North Dakota recently fired its Vice President for Student Affairs & Diversity, Cara Halgren, after an investigation determined she has discriminated against the campus police chief due to his political beliefs.

UND Police Chief Eric Plummer had filed a complaint alleging his working relationship with Halgren deteriorated after she learned he voted for Donald Trump, and a subsequent investigation affirmed that position.

Halgren was terminated in mid-September. Plummer left UND for a position at Radford University in Virginia earlier this year.

Far-left college professors rally around and protect pedophile-defending, “gender-fluid” Old Dominion professor

Pedophile supporters of the country, unite! At least that seems to be the case as far-left American Marxist college professors from across the county are circling the wagons in defense of an obviously confused Old Dominion University professor who was rightfully put on leave after coming out in defense of pedophiles, Breitbart reports.

Of as he/she calls them, “minor-attracted persons” in order to “destigmatize” them.

The professor who is a biological female who now goes by the name of Allyn Walker, made the sick claim that attraction to children “is not always immoral.”

In a petition being circulated to reinstate Walker, they petitioners claim the outrage against him/her is “based on nothing more than misinformation and stigma, all fueled by some individuals’ desire to virtue-signal their hatred of pedophilia rather than support evidence-backed child protection initiatives and research.”

LEAKED: Teachers Reveal How They ‘Stalk’ Kids, Sideline Parents To Pull Middle Schoolers Into LGBT Groups

Members of California’s biggest teachers union plotted how to push LGBT politics on children and undermine concerns about their tactics from parents, principals, and communities, reveals leaked audio from an October conference of the California Teachers Association (CTA).

“Speakers went so far as to tout their surveillance of students’ Google searches, internet activity, and hallway conversations in order to target sixth graders for personal invitations to LGBTQ clubs, while actively concealing these clubs’ membership rolls from participants’ parents,” Abigail Shrier reported on Thursday.

Three people from the “2021 LGBTQ+ Issues Conference” in Palm Springs, Calif., titled “Beyond the Binary: Identity & Imagining Possibilities,” sent recordings to Shrier revealing the radical content of some of the workshops.

Must See: Pornographic Books Being Read To Children

A group of parents at a Texas school district are voicing their concerns over what they argue is a lack of oversight by administrators regarding literature made available to their children.

During a board meeting of the Clear Creek Independent School District this week, parents took the stand, voicing their concerns about a number of books they say are inappropriate for their young children to be reading.

Mark Callahan was leading the charge, as his child attends one of the CCISD's 45 schools. "There’s an army of parents doing a deep dive into all things literature in CCISD," he said, urging the board to do better when it comes to overseeing which books students have access to.

"Because, ultimately, the buck stops with you guys, the school board," Callahan said. "The board of trustees.”

Abigail Shrier: Activist Teachers Recruit Middle Schoolers for ‘LGBTQ Clubs,’ Mock Parents

Author and journalist Abigail Shrier said authenticated documents and audio files sent to her reveal activist teachers are working to personally recruit middle school-age children for “LGBTQ clubs” by tracking their Google searches, all while subverting parents.

Shrier, the author of Irreversible Damage: the Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, wrote at her Substack column Thursday that the leaked materials from a meeting of the California Teachers Association (CTA) last month revealed the union “advising teachers on best practices for subverting parents, conservative communities and school principals on issues of gender identity and sexual orientation.”

Manhattan junior high school will racially separate students in grades seven and eight while discussing identity and social justice topics in controversial exercise to 'undo legacy of racism and oppression'

A Manhattan middle school will racially separate students during a controversial social justice exercise officials say is meant to 'undo the legacy of racism and oppression.'

Next week, the Lower Manhattan Community Middle School will reportedly separate kids in grades seven and eight into five racial groups for a two-day program meant to explore 'How do our racial identities influence our experiences?' Principal Shanna Douglas wrote in an email to parents.

The students will be divided into five racial groups: whites, Asians and mixed-race students will each get their own groups, African American and Hispanic students will be combined into one group, and there will be an additional group for those who are uncomfortable with the format, the New York Post reported.

Maher: Let's face it, CRT in schools is "nuts" and parents have a point

Can Americans hold two thoughts in their head at the same time? Bill Maher told CNN’s Chris Cuomo last night that the rise of critical race theory from just a legal concept to a cultural belief system fits into his theory of “progressophobia.” Most prevalent among liberals, those afflicted can’t acknowledge the existence of problems and the fact of progress at the same time.

Is there racism in America? Sure, Maher says, and its history should be taught. But to claim that everything in America is racist is “just nuts,” and parents should be objecting when schools teach it — whether they call it CRT or not:

Exclusive: Jim Jordan Demands FBI Director Wray Disclose All ‘Counterterrorism’ Efforts Against Parents After Whistleblower Report

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) demanded on Thursday that the FBI submit to the House Judiciary Committee any records related to counterterrorism tools that the agency used against parents expressing outrage at school boards, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.

Jordan, who serves as ranking member on the Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray detailing the committee’s requests after Jordan published an email Tuesday from a whistleblower inside the FBI that revealed the agency’s counterterrorism and criminal divisions had created a “threat tag” for FBI officials to apply to investigations into threats made against school administrators.

“We are investigating the troubling attempts by the Department of Justice and the White House to use the heavy hand of federal law enforcement to target concerned parents at local school board meetings and chill their protected First Amendment activity,” the letter begins.

Oregon Middle School Halts In-Person Classes Due To Students "Struggling With Socialization Skills"

A middle school in Oregon is pausing in-person instruction for two weeks over classroom disruptions that officials say are caused by some students “struggling with the socialization skills necessary for in-person learning.”

It comes after the school was forced to provide distance learning over the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, starting in spring 2020. The school was able to provide some in-person instruction in the spring of 2021 but still continued with distance learning before recently shifting to full in-person learning.

“The shifts in learning methods and isolation caused by COVID-19 closures and quarantines have taken a toll on the well-being of our students and staff,” Superintendent Danna Diaz told families and staff.

“We are finding that some students are struggling with the socialization skills necessary for in-person learning, which is causing disruption in school for other students.”

It Begins: FBI raids house, terrorizes family of mom who protested local school board, elections

An FBI SWAT team raided the home of an activist mother of three in Colorado on Tuesday, Nov. 16, knocking down her door, bursting into the house with guns and handcuffing her while she was homeschooling her children.

This is the first known case of the federal government making good on its promise to not only intimidate but actually carry out a raid on a mom who was involved in her local school board politics, said Brannon Howse, who interviewed Sherronna Bishop at Lindell TV Wednesday night.

The U.S. Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland issued an Oct. 4 memorandum directing federal, state and local law enforcement to look for parents to prosecute nationwide who may have made “threats” and made “harassing” phone calls to school board members nationwide, equating such parents to domestic terrorists.

Now a mother, Sherronna Bishop of Grand Junction, Colorado, has felt the brute force of the FBI’s heavily armed SWAT unit used against her family.

Josh Hawley Gets Bonus Points With Parents For This Anti-Woke Bill

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., will introduce a bill defending parents' rights in their children's education, Fox News reports.

Turns out, Harvard students aren’t that smart after all

Ever wondered what it takes to get into Harvard? Stellar grades, impressive extracurriculars and based on a recently published study, having deep pockets and a parent who either works or went there. Those last two are pretty important for Harvard’s white students because only about 57% of them were admitted to the school based on merit.

In reality, 43% of Harvard’s white students are either recruited athletes, legacy students, on the dean’s interest list (meaning their parents have donated to the school) or children of faculty and staff (students admitted based on these criteria are referred to as ‘ALDCs’, which stands for ‘athletes’, ‘legacies’, ‘dean’s interest list’ and ‘children’ of Harvard employees). The kicker? Roughly three-quarters of these applicants would have been rejected if it weren’t for having rich or Harvard-connected parents or being an athlete.

The heads of the FBI’s criminal and counterterrorism divisions instructed agents in an Oct. 20 memo to flag all assessments and investigations into potentially criminal threats, harassment and intimidation of educators with a “threat tag,” which the officials said would allow them to evaluate the scope of the problem.

Videos: Parents Accuse School Boards Of ‘Promoting Suicide’ With Creepy Corporate Run ‘Social Emotional Learning’ Schemes

Concerned parents have slammed school officials for “promoting suicide” among children by amplifying a so called ‘Social Emotional Learning’ agenda that is obsessed with encouraging kids that it is normal to have and to openly discuss mental health illnesses and to feel like they were born as the wrong gender.

The SEL scheme is often traced back to a 1995 book titled ‘Emotional Intelligence’ by academic Daniel Goleman, who argued that schools focus too much on intellectual achievement, and not enough on emotional development and empathy.

However, parents are now arguing that SEL has evolved into indoctrination, and that government run schools have no place getting involved with their children’s emotional and mental wellbeing.

In a recent school board hearing, a Southlake Texas mother, Tara Eddins, called for an end to the program in her children’s school, claiming that it ‘advertises suicide’.

New University Provides An Alternative to “Woke” Higher Ed

“I criticize by creation, not by finding fault,” said the Roman philosopher Marcus Tullius Cicero. This is such an important message.

There is a lot to be critical about in our current culture, and finding fault is easy, but it doesn’t prompt change. Change comes from creators. These entrepreneurial individuals see unmet needs and missed opportunities and develop solutions. They imagine alternatives to the status quo, and they invent new and better products and processes. They inspire others to do the same, collaborating and competing in a dynamic free market of ideas and innovations...

White Students Not Allowed at Pennsylvania School District’s Drone Camp

A middle school in Pennsylvania is receiving pushback from some parents for hosting a drone-flying camp over the weekend that was not open to white students.

During morning announcements at Upper Merion Area Middle School on November 1, a school staff member said she had “an exciting announcement,” but asked everyone to first watch a short video about drones. The video included footage of students flying drones, and snippets of TV news reports where anchors noted that “drones are in high demand,” and “if you want to go into drones, you’re going to need those (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills.”

After the video, the staff member announced a drone flight camp at the middle school on Saturday, according to a recording of the announcement a parent posted on Facebook. The camp was free, but there were only 24 seats available, the staff member announced. Seats would be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, she said.

Virginia's Become 'Ground Zero' For Backlash Against Critical Race Theory Madness

The election of a Republican governor in Virginia points to a winning formula in the upcoming mid-terms, a key component of which is empowering parents to fight back against Critical Race Theory’s (CRT) indoctrination of their children.

Gov-elect Glenn Youngkin’s victory was unexpected because the Democrats had won the governorship of Virginia for the last 12 years and the Democrat candidate, Terry McAuliffe, was popular.

More importantly, it looked like a major demographic shift had forever changed Virginian politics in favour of the Democrats, given the growth of a huge suburban population of Washington D.C. bureaucrats in northern Virginia.

For many Republicans, it felt like Virginia’s political game had forever been rigged against them by the arrival of these D.C. immigrants.

We are aware of an unusually large number of SPS staff taking leave on Friday, and do not believe we have adequate personnel to open schools with the necessary environment for high-quality learning. This is a change from the published schedule, and we recognize the late notice creates challenging circumstances for many families."
