The news comes amid reports of Russian troops entering Lisichansk – the last major city in the Lugansk People's Republic under Ukrainian forces' control.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has briefed President Vladimir Putin on the complete liberation of the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), which Moscow recognized earlier this year, from Ukrainian forces.

Russian authorities are saying that a series of strikes rocked one of its cities near the border with Ukraine. Russia is calling it a "deliberate" Ukrainian attack on its territory in the early hours of Sunday morning, which reportedly killed at least four people in the city of Belgorod.

The US is funding technology to allow Russian citizens to get past Russian government censors in efforts to circumvent an information crackdown related to the war in Ukraine.

The US-backed Open Technology Fund is paying out cash to a number of American companies who provide virtual private networks (VPNs). These are now seeking to allow Russians access free of charge, which aids in both accessing blocked websites and preventing Kremlin authorities from tracking IP addresses, thus better protecting online identity.

The Ukrainian military uses cluster munitions prohibited by the convention.

Western cluster munitions banned by the Convention on Cluster Munitions began to be used in Ukraine. As it turned out, several NATO countries at once, including those that signed and ratified the agreement, decided to transfer their weapons to Ukraine, which began to actively use them to carry out attacks.

Embattled Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on Thursday’s night debate stage justified the war in Ukraine, while challenger Harriet Hageman said former President Donald Trump would have prevented it.

“It’s the frontline in the battle for freedom,” Cheney said of President Joe Biden’s involvement in the conflict with arms gifts and intelligence operations.

Dick Cheney’s daughter, who has been dubbed by Trump as a “warmonger,” has consistently supported Biden’s costly involvement in defending Ukraine’s border from Russia, aligning herself with Biden’s administration.

The whole war in Ukraine could and should have been avoided. Russia had simple demands:

  • Don’t join NATO
  • Be Neutral
  • Recognize Crimea, a part of Russia

But it seems NATO, dominated by the United States wanted this war.

Fresh of their victory over the key stronghold of Sievierodonetsk, Russian forces have claimed victory over its sister city of Lysychansk, which puts Russia in total control of the Luhansk province. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu affirmed as much in a Sunday statement, while the Ukrainian regional governor of Luhansk, Serhiy Haidai, said the "city is on fire"

A little over a week ago Ukraine's military began showing off it newly acquired long-rage rocket systems from the US by uploading videos of launches against Russian forces.
